OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Garfield considers award shows to be “gratitude rituals”.
The 33-year-old actor has admitted to having mixed feelings about attending award shows this season, revealing that although he loves to celebrate the achievements of other people within the movie industry, he dislikes the “commerce” element of the glitzy events.
Andrew – who has received a BAFTA nomination for his starring role in ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ – shared: “I get to offer gratitude and celebrate the people that I’ve worked with, and not only that, but to celebrate the other work that’s going on.
“And not only that, but there are people that I have a true connection with in those rooms, friends that I love and I get to celebrate their work.
“At best, those things are gratitude rituals.
“A very wise man said that to me – a mythologist called Michael Meade who I look up to very much – he watched the Oscars one year and he said, ‘You know what? What I saw was the possibility for a gratitude ritual. What a beautiful thing that you get to go and give thanks sincerely to all those people and forces in the world that allow you to do what you love.’ So I’m feeling pretty good about it.”
However, Andrew admitted that there is an obvious downside to the shows, too.
He told Vulture: “There is the other side of it, and commerce is always going to be present, and you just have to dance with it and keep all that as light as possible.
“You have to keep the focus on the meaning, and we need meaning more than ever – that is for sure. The world is crying out for it, so I’m very happy to attempt to live my own version of that life.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Grieving fans of George Michael are at loggerheads with the owners of the London shop he crashed his car into in 2010.
The pop legend, who passed away on Christmas Day (25.12.16), famously rammed his car into the front of a Snappy Snaps store in Hampstead, north London, and fans of the ‘Careless Whisper’ hitmaker have been leaving flowers and messages outside the shop in memory of George.
One message read: “I’m never gonna dance again the way I danced with you.”
But the owners of the store are growing increasingly frustrated that their business has been turned into a shrine for the singer, who died aged 53.
One local told The Sun newspaper: “The owners think it’s bad for business but everyone else around here thinks it’s quite humorous and makes the shop a bit of a tourist attraction.
“I guess they don’t want to be forever associated with George Michael’s arrest, however.”
Following the much-discussed incident in 2010, George pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and was later sentenced to eight weeks in prison, a fine, and a five-year ban from driving.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that police are trying to trace several people who visited George in the days leading up to his death.
The singer was found dead at his home in Oxfordshire, England, and although it was initially thought George had died from heart failure, it’s now believed the singer passed away from an overdose of illegal or prescription drugs.
A source said: “Officers are stepping up the investigation into the days leading up to George’s death and focusing on those who came and went to see George.
“They may have vital information which could be of use.
“There are still vehicles that were near the property which the police are trying to trace the owners of.
“The police will take as long as they need to. The aim for them is to get an accurate picture as possible of George’s final days.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Posner’s father passed away last week after losing his battle with cancer.
The 28-year-old singer/songwriter’s dad, attorney Jon Posner, died last Wednesday (11.01.17) at the age of 73 and was laid to rest on Friday (13.01.17) following a Jewish funeral service at the Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield, Michigan, where the family lived and where Jon worked.
According to TMZ, Mike performed a touching tribute to his father by singing a rendition of Bright Eyes song ‘First Day Of My Life’.
Mike revealed his father had been diagnosed with cancer when he performed his hit ‘I Took a Pill in Ibiza’ on talk show ‘Conan’ last May and changed the lyrics to reference Jon’s illness and the effect it was having on him.
He sang: “And my dad has cancer / I’m still wrapping my head ’round that / Sat by the hospital bed, nurses poked in their heads / And asked me to sign autographs / And my dad has cancer! / I shouldn’t be here, I should be home / But in case you couldn’t tell, I’m busy playing myself

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey has reportedly reached out to James Packer in a bid to rebuild her brand.
The chart-topping singer was engaged to the Australian billionaire until October 2016, but has turned to James, 49, for advice following the embarrassment of her live performance on New Year’s Eve, when she aborted her set because of sound problems.
A source told NW magazine: “She knows she drove him away, but he’s so powerful and knows how to run a successful business – and right now her business, which is ‘Mariah Carey’ is in trouble.”
The Grammy Award-winning star previously suggested her performance was deliberately sabotaged by the production team working on ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ in New York City.
In a recording shared on social media, Mariah said: “I haven’t really addressed the situation that happened on New Year’s Eve and, in time, I will, but for now, I want everyone to know that I came to New Year’s Eve in New York in great spirits and was looking forward to a celebratory moment with the world.”
However, she subsequently claimed that the production team deliberately tried to make her look foolish in front of the watching world.
She explained: “It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues who chose to capitalize on circumstances beyond our control.
“It’s not practical for a singer to sing live and be able to hear themselves properly in the middle of Times Square with all the noise, the freezing cold, the smoke from the smoke machines, thousands of people celebrating, esspecially when their ear monitors were not working at all.
“Listen, guys, they foiled me. Thus, it turned into an opportunity to humiliate me and all those who were excited to ring in the new year with me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman’s behaviour at the Golden Globes reportedly left onlookers wondering whether she’d had “too many pre-show wines”.
The 49-year-old actress attended the glitzy awards show in Beverly Hills with her husband Keith Urban – but her erratic behaviour throughout the event led other guests to raise their eyebrows.
The speculation began when she interrupted an interview with Tom Hiddleston to tell viewers she was having a great time at the Globes, according to Woman’s Day magazine.
She said: “I’m determined to have fun. That’s why I came here and did that.”
But by the time Nicole attended the HBO after-party, she reportedly wasn’t in the mood to drink any more and was said to have “shooed a cocktail waitress away”.
However, she was eager to indulge on the food at the event, with one source saying he was “constantly ushering over” waiters for more pizza, while her husband was busily brushing the crumbs off her Alexander McQueen gown.
Last year, meanwhile, Nicole opened up about her experience of helping her husband through his alcohol addiction.
The actress, who has been married to the singer since 2006, said she was forced to take a step back from the situation as Keith struggled to stop drinking.
She shared: “It is a very big thing for people like me who go, ‘I can take care of you. I can do it.’ At some point, you just have to say, ‘I love you and I’m here when you decide to do the work.
“If you don’t, then that’s it.’ It’s not easy, but there’s an extraordinary life if you do get there through help.”
And Keith has since thanked his wife for her support through his addiction.
He said: “Nicole listened to her heart and did what she felt was the right thing to do. To see that kind of love in action, that’s very moving and deeply inspiring and just makes me want to be a better man.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle’s half-brother is seeking help for the drinking problem that led to him allegedly threatening his lover with a gun.
Thomas Markle Jr has turned to professionals in a bid to get his alcohol-related problems under control and has apologised for his behaviour towards Darlene Blount, 36, at his home in Grants Pass, Oregon.
Thomas, 50 – who shares dad Thomas Snr with Meghan – said: “I am incredibly sorry for my actions and I’m especially sorry to everyone affected by my drinking.
“I am seeking help and I promise I will be the best person I can be going forward. Thank you for understanding.”
According to court papers, Thomas pointed the gun at Darlene’s head as he tried to get her to leave.
He subsequently sent a text message to his son Tyler, informing him that he’d been taken to jail.
Tyler, 24, said his dad is aware of how embarrassing the incident will be for Meghan, who has been dating Prince Harry since mid-2016.
He told The Sun newspaper: “He knows it is an embarrassment to Meghan and the family.
“He is very sorry and is apologising to everyone. He just needs some time to heal and reflect on life. But he wants to apologise for everything.
“He is in the spotlight now and everyone gets to see his flaws.”
Tyler said his dad’s behaviour was influenced by the alcohol he’d consumed and is not a reflection of who he really is.
He explained: “Due to being inebriated, his emotions got the better of him and he got into an argument with his girlfriend. He’s not like this normally.
“I also want to apologise on behalf of my dad. Unfortunately my father has a problem with alcohol. He is now in recovery.”

OHMYGOSSIP — George Michael played snooker “every night” during his time in rehab.
The pop icon, who passed away on Christmas Day (25.12.16), had a two-month stint at a rehab facility in Australia in early 2013 as he battled “emotional anxiety and other issues” – and his ex-boyfriend Fadi Fawaz has revealed how George found peace of mind in playing the sedate sport.
Fadi wrote on Twitter: “Even though [they] were tough two months but I cherish them [sic].”
He added: “We played snooker every night.”
Meanwhile, Carlos Ortiz, a former lover of the ‘Careless Whisper’ singer, claimed recently that George was addicted to anti-depressants.
Carlos said an “overdose” may have been the cause of George’s death after he previously confessed to being hooked on prescription medication.
He said: “[I thought] something was going to happen to him. I had an intuitive feeling about it last year. And it seems very coincidental to me that he was found dead on Christmas Day because he told me he hated Christmas as there were never any children around. For me it is, sadly, a possibility he may have overdosed.”
Carlos said that while he was saddened by George’s passing, it didn’t come as a huge surprise.
He explained: “George’s death knocked me sideways, although it didn’t surprise me. I found him a lovely down-to-earth man, but also a very melancholic person who I feared might one day take his own life. He told me he was addicted to anti-depressant medicine and trying to wean himself off it and confessed he was unhappy.
“We talked about his superstar status and I told him I thought that with his fame and talent and money he had all he needed to be happy in life. But when he started talking about the anti-depressants he took I asked him outright if he was happy in life and he replied, ‘No, I’m not.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Seyfried doesn’t want to be the “centre of attention” at her wedding.
The 31-year-old actress – who is expecting her first child with fiancé Thomas Sadoski – is used to having all eyes on her at premieres and red carpet events, so when it comes to her nuptials, she plans to wear something low-key.
She told Australia’s Vogue magazine: “I don’t want to be the centre of attention.
“I get to go to premieres and get dressed up all the time.
“I went to the Met Gala last year in a wedding gown designed by Riccardo Tisci; I’ve played a bride a billion times.”
However, the ‘Les Miserables’ star insists she is still very excited about the thought of tying the knot.
She added: “I’ve never been excited by anything more in my life. And ready.”
Amanda recently hinted she is expecting a baby boy while discussing her newly-acquired craving for cottage cheese and referring to the unborn tot as “he”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry threw a surprise party to celebrate Orlando Bloom’s 40th birthday at the weekend.
The ‘Firework’ hitmaker delighted her boyfriend – who reached the milestone age on Friday (13.01.17) – with a star-studded bash in Palm Spring, California, on Saturday (14.01.17), at which they were joined by a host of pals, including Amanda De Cadenet, Jennifer Aniston and her husband Justin Theroux.
But the highlight of the evening for the British actor was a surprise appearance from his mother.
He shared a photograph of them embracing on Instagram and wrote: “Best gift ever surprise visit from me mum.(sic)”
Pictures shared on social media showed a number of the guests, including the ‘Lord of the Rings’ star and his mother, had donned onesies printed with Orlando’s face for the celebration, but at one point, the actor and a number of his pals – including Justin – stripped down to the waist and posed for topless pictures.

It was previously claimed the 32-year-old singer has hired a celebrity concierge service to plan 12 months’ worth of events to celebrate Orlando’s birthday.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Cannon thinks Mariah Carey got “a little flustered” during her disastrous New Year’s Eve performance.
The ‘Hero’ hitmaker was left embarrassed during her
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest set on December 31 after her performance was plagued by technical difficulties, and after joking the hitches were part of a “conspiracy”, the singer’s ex-husband thinks the star simply fell victim to the pitfalls of live TV.
He said: “I’m a conspiracy theorist. I think the government did that. They set her up. That was a distraction.
“Anyone who knows about performing [knows that] things like that can go wrong on live television.
“I do live television all the time; I screw up on ‘America’s Got Talent’ all the time, so when there are people in your ear saying things and stuff, I think she got a little flustered.”
And the 36-year-old star – who has twins Moroccan and Monroe, five, with the ‘We Belong Together’ singer – thinks Mariah’s response, removing her ear monitors and abandoning any attempts to lip sync, was typical of the “diva”.
He joked: “But being the diva she is, she said, I’m just going to walk around and pose for seven minutes. And like Ryan Seacrest says, she can do no wrong. So she worked through it.”
But Nick insisted the audience in New York’s Times Square didn’t mind.
Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on an episode of her talk show airing today (16.01.17), he joked: “They were like, ‘She’s amazing, and her lips aren’t even moving’.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Dornan has always been “open-minded and liberal” when it comes to sex.
The 34-year-old actor has reprised the role of Christian Grey for the upcoming ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ movie and has insisted he’s always had a non-judgemental attitude towards the sexual preferences of other people – but admitted S&M isn’t something that interests him personally.
Jamie explained: “It was like nothing I’d experienced before. I’d never seen any form of S&M before this, I had no interest in that world … it doesn’t float my boat.
“I’ve always been open-minded and liberal – I’d never judge anyone’s sexual preference. Whatever gets people off is entirely up to them and there’s a million different ways to please yourself, sexually.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift plans to turn her home into a local landmark.
The 27-year-old singer is reportedly spending millions in a bid to restore the former estate of Hollywood producer Samuel Goldwyn to its original condition.
Taylor has drafted in a team of architects to ensure that the 11,000-square-foot house looks exactly as it did in 1934, having acquired the property for $25 million a year ago, according to the New York Post newspaper.
Last week, the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker received permission from the members of the Beverly Hills Cultural Heritage Commission to turn the property into a local landmark for its connection to Goldwyn, who was the founding contributor and executive of several Hollywood film studios.
Taylor is also the owner of a penthouse in Tribeca, New York City, which she bought off ‘Lord of the Rings’ director Peter Jackson.
The property is rumoured to have cost the blonde beauty $19.95 million and is made up of two large penthouse apartments combined.
The abode features seven bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, but fans have only ever been given a glimpse of the property through Taylor’s Instagram.
In one photograph, for instance, Taylor can be seen playing pool with her friends at home, while she’s also posted several pictures of herself cooking and relaxing at her apartment.
The spectacular penthouse is guarded by a former NYPD officer and Taylor had previously revealed that her security team stays in a $5 million apartment across the hall from her.
She revealed, too, that one of the guest bedrooms is reserved specifically for model Karlie Kloss, who is a frequent guest.
In fact, a basket of Karlie’s favourite Whole Foods treats are kept next to the bed, and there are also multiple photos of her on the walls.

OHMYGOSSIP — Reese Witherspoon has said she’s “lucky” to have a daughter like Ava.
The 40-year-old actress shares her only daughter Ava, 17, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe – with whom she also has 13-year-old son Deacon – and has said it’s an “honour” to be a mother to the teenager, and she loves “having her in [her] life”.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, the blonde beauty said of her daughter: “I had a premiere for that movie ‘Sing!’ over Christmas, and the head of the studio went up to Ava and congratulated her on the movie.
“But I just love her. I’m so lucky to be her mom, and I just love having her in my life and getting to go everywhere with her. It’s a great honour.”
And the ‘Wild’ star – who also has four-year-old son Tennessee with her husband Jim Toth – said recently that she often feels “guilty” when working away from her three children.
She said: “Every woman feels guilty if they’re working or guilty if they’re staying home all the time. There are all sorts of factors in between about economics and what each family needs. Actually my next show, ‘Big Little Lies’ has a lot to do with that and about the complexity of women’s lives and the choices they have to make that affect their self-esteem and their marriage and their family …

OHMYGOSSIP — Bryan Tanaka has admitted it “f***ing sucked” watching Mariah Carey get close to her ex-fiancé James Packer.
The 33-year-old dancer and choreographer – who is now dating Mariah – received a “big reality check” after he witnessed the ‘Without You’ hitmaker “connecting” with the 49-year-old businessman when the pair were still engaged.
Speaking on an episode of ‘Mariah’s World’ – which saw James fly to Paris to see Mariah perform – Bryan said: “It just f***ing sucks. Seeing Mariah and James connect is super weird for me because I haven’t really seen it before. I feel like I’ve been living in this fantasy for a while and all of a sudden this is like a big reality check.”
The news comes after he admitted on the reality show he was “catching some hard feelings” for the 46-year-old singer months before they started dating.
He told his dancer pal G. Madison: “I can’t believe I’m saying this right now. I’m catching some hard feelings [about] Miss Mariah. I don’t know if I’m tripping, but it’s been kind of going a little nuts lately man.
“I feel like our chemistry is not just professional, there’s great chemistry professionally, but when we talk it feels like there’s a connection that is more than what we’ve had for the past 10 years. [I wouldn’t] cross that line [if it didn’t] feel the way it does.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Biel is a “human vacuum cleaner”.
The 34-year-old actress admitted that she often finishes her 21-month-old son Silas Randall’s leftovers, joking that her talent is to make food disappear.
She told PEOPLE: “I’m the human vacuum cleaner at the end of the meal! That is what happens when you are a mom or a dad. You make food, they eat what they eat, and you literally — as they are running off trying to grab something – you are shoveling the last few bites off of their plate. And that is your lunch… that is your lunch.”
However, Jessica insisted that Silas – whose father is Justin Timberlake – likes a wide variety of foods.
She said: “I’m pretty good with vegetables and grains. We actually cook some lamb for Silas, and we do a lot more fish now – but I like vegetables, I like grains, I like quinoa, I like farro – that kind of stuff.
“I’m not saying that I cook that all of the time. A lot of the time we are doing the best that we can – maybe just picking up pre-made stuff from Whole Foods.”
Meanwhile, Jessica previously admitted motherhood is the “most challenging job in the world”.
She explained: “It’s sometimes hard to find the words [to describe motherhood]. So amazing. So lovely. I’m over the moon. Honestly, I would say motherhood [is the most difficult role I’ve done]. It’s probably the most challenging job in the world, but also the most joyous.”
And the star has insisted she doesn’t want Silas to follow in his parents’ footsteps and join the showbiz industry.
She said: “He’s probably [inherited] the entertainment gene. He’s definitely very charming.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West’s former bodyguard has no regrets.
Pascal Duvier was with Kim on her ill-fated trip to Paris when the reality TV star was robbed at gunpoint in her hotel room and although Pascal missed the incident because he was protecting her sisters Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian at a nightclub, he insisted he doesn’t regret any of his actions.
Speaking to Fairfax Media, he said: “I don’t like to waste my time on thoughts about ‘what if’ or ‘what could have been if…’. Many good and many bad things happen. Life is a chain reaction of decisions and actions you take, you can’t choose only to change certain things. Every change affects everything.”
It has been reported that Pascal no longer works for Kim and her husband Kanye West but he refused to either confirm or deny the claims.
He said: “This is a question that comes up often and to be honest it doesn’t matter if I do or I don’t [work for Kim and Kanye]… The client should be the one answering that question.

After the incident, Kim is believed to have “ordered a complete overhauling” of her security.
A source said previously: “Kim’s ordered a complete overhauling of security … A team of security experts goes through her day-to-day life to assess potential threats and vulnerabilities.

Kim recently returned to the spotlight after taking a few months off to get over her ordeal and last week 17 people were arrested in connection with the robbery.
10 of those people, including the alleged mastermind of the plot, have since been charged.
