OHMYGOSSIP — Pet Shop Boys received the Godlike Genius award at the VO5 NME Awards 2017 in London on Wednesday (15.02.17).
Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe took home the top prize at the awards ceremony at London’s O2 Academy Brixton and praised their collaborators for their long-lasting success.
Neil said: “Little did I know when I started reading the NME as a child in the mid-60s, that one day we would stand here as an electronic duo getting such a magnificent award.
“Our career has been such a huge collaboration with producers, programmers, remixers and I would just like to thank every one of them – and accept this on behalf of electronic music, dance music and shiny pop music. Thank you very much.”
Earlier, while introducing the pair, Johnny Marr said: “The winners of this award have changed pop music, over three decades, with hit after hit after hit. They brought romance, glamour, style, high art to the wonderful thing that is pop music.”
Neil and Chris first met in 1981 and went on to have 22 Top 10 singles and 13 Top 10 studio albums.
They wowed the crowd at the awards with a set which included their hits ‘Vocal’, ‘Sodom & Gomorrah’, ‘It’s A Sin’, ‘Left To My Own Devices’, ‘West End Girls’, ‘Domino Dancing’ and ‘Always On My Mind’.
Other winners included The 1975, who took home the award for Best Live Band, and frontman Matt Healy mentioned that they had previously won Worst Band in 2014.
He said: “Thank you. Stop talking. Listen. This our second NME Award. The first time we were the sh***est band. Now it’s for being good, so I don’t know what that proves. I don’t think it proves anything, I think it proves that…hey listen Mike (Williams) came out this evening and he said if you’re an artist, we have a duty to make pop music didactic.
“I know this is unfashionable and boring and no-one really gives a f**k but everything is f***ed. And if your music isn’t purposefully informative, then there’s no point to it. So let’s make sure that we do that. Thank you.”
Bastille, Dua Lipa and the Bands4Refugees supergroup were among the other performers on the night.

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Bynes claims she is being impersonated on Twitter.
The 30-year-old actress took to the micro-blogging site to claim that someone had gained access to her private Instagram account and had posted on Twitter pretending to be her, alleging that she was pregnant and engaged.
She wrote: “I am not @persianla27. I am not getting married and I am not pregnant. I don’t understand why twitter won’t take @persianla27 down.
“I have asked repeatedly. This person continues to impersonate and harass me and twitter needs to take the account down.
“I repeat: I am not @persianla27. She got into my private instagram somehow and took all my photos and videos (sic).”
The account, which Amanda accused of impersonating her, later tweeted: ” I’ve been forced to deny this account to prevent them from having me committed against my will. AGAIN!
“This is just another ploy & scare tactic for them to keep my money FOREVER (sic).”
Last year, Amanda – who was previously placed under a conservatorship and endured stints in rehab and psychiatric facilities – returned to Twitter after a six-month break and explained that she has been busy studying fashion at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles.
She tweeted: “Hi everybody! I haven’t tweeted in a long time and I want to say hi! I’ve been really busy at FIDM, and I just finished my midterms.
“I am really loving school and I feel that I am learning a lot. I enjoy all of my classes and my teachers are excellent.
“I’m really appreciative of all that FIDM is giving me. I’ve been in school learning about the fashion business so I don’t have time to tweet
“FYI, this Twitter account is the only communication media that I am using.
“No other Twitter accounts or websites are mine! I only have this one. (sic)
The ‘Easy A’ actress returned to the fashion school in October 2015 after reportedly being kicked out the year before.
She allegedly turned up to class under the influence of marijuana and offered students money to do her homework.
The actress, who was released from a psychiatric facility in October 2014 after less than a month of treatment, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence [DUI] in 2012, but avoided jail time by completing inpatient treatment and was placed on three years’ probation in early 2014.
Amanda was also arrested for a DUI in the early hours of September 28, 2014 but the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office opted not to press charges “after much deliberation and review”.
She was placed under the conservatorship of her mother Lynn in August 2013 after she set fire to a driveway.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lena Dunham has defended Taylor Swift for not endorsing a candidate in the US presidential election.
The ‘Girls’ creator was one of a number of stars who campaigned for Hillary Clinton when she ran against Donald Trump but her close friend Taylor was blasted for not aligning herself with a candidate.
Lena told Rolling Stone: “I just think everyone has to do it their way. When I was lesser known, I was like, ‘Who could not share their opinion?’ Then I found out that when you talk about politics, people straight up tweet you the floor plan of your house and say they’re coming to your house. You have to f**king watch it because people are nuts.”
Lena, 30, also praised Taylor, 27, for how she deals with criticism and for her approach to her career.
She said: “She’s been in the public eye since she was 15. I felt young when my career started and I was 23, 24. When I met her, she was newly 22, and she was a seasoned pro at this stuff.
“Watching the way that she understands the vicissitudes of the cycle, and she just keeps making her work, – that’s just really impressive to me. That’s how I hope to live my life, which is not as a slave to public opinion, but just as somebody who continues to make things. She’s truly just an artist who has to make things to survive. I guess that’s what we have most in common.
“And she’s never not making music. If people know about it or they don’t, she’s never not making music, and that’s like, something that I’ve really watched with a lot of admiration. Because she’s been put through the ringer, and she’s continued to make her work. People who understand how to protect themselves but aren’t so beaten down that they can’t be creative – that to me is the greatest.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber has been accused of assault.
The 22-year-old singer was involved in a physical confrontation outside his hotel in downtown Cleveland in June 2016 and his alleged victim has now filed a report regarding the incident.
TMZ reports that the man, who is much bigger than Justin, told people that Justin took his sunglasses so he took a picture of the singer. He alleged that Justin was unhappy about this and attacked him and he was treated in hospital for concussion.
However, sources told the website that the man did not file charges until now because he was “trying to settle up with Justin but he just wouldn’t play ball”.
Police sources have said that the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
Meanwhile, last year Justin announced a self-imposed ban on taking selfies with fans.
He wrote on Instagram: “If you happen to see me out somewhere know that I’m not gonna take a picture I’m done taking pictures.
“It has gotten to the point that people won’t even say hi to me or recognize me as a human, I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity. (sic)”
A source close to the star insisted later that his wish was not motivated by selfishness.
The insider explained: “He was honest when he explained that he feels like a zoo animal.
“He wants his fans to see that he is still a person – a person who would like a little bit of respect.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dr. Luke allegedly blasted Kesha about her weight in 2012.
The star has submitted a number of emails between the music producer and her manager Monica Cornia as evidence, in her ongoing legal battle to end their professional relationship, that he was critical of her appearance.
In the documents, obtained by DailyMail.com, Dr. Luke allegedly wrote: “Nobody was calling anybody out. We were having a discussion on how she can be more disciplined with her diet. There have been many times we have all witnessed her breaking her diet plan. This particular time – it happened to be diet coke and turkey while on an all juice fast.”
He reportedly added: “A list songwriters and producers are reluctant to give Kesha their songs because of her weight.”
Kesha has accused Dr. Luke of sexually abusing her but he has denied the claims and it was recently reported that the 43-year-old record producer – whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald – wants to add a defamation charge to his own lawsuit against Kesha, after she allegedly sent a text message to fellow musician Lady Gaga, claiming there was another victim.
Dr. Luke’s lawyer Christine Lepera told Page Six in a statement: “Dr. Luke seeks to add an additional defamation claim against Kesha based upon the discovery of another false and defamatory statement she made about him that was part of her calculated effort to harm his reputation and business.
“Kesha’s new proposed counterclaim simply repeats the meritless and untrue allegations that were set forth in her earlier pleadings and which Dr. Luke fully disputes.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Lively is “learning to love” her body after having children.
The ‘Shadows’ actress has daughters James, two and four-month-old Ines, with her husband Ryan Reynolds and admitted that it is taking time for her to get used to the changes pregnancy has had on her body.
She told E! News: “It’s all a process. You know after the second kid it’s really different. So, this is not my normal body, but I like it.
“I’m learning to love my body in every iteration and I think that’s hard for women, and so I learned a lot.”
Blake also spoke out about the importance of women supporting each other and building each other up.
The 29-year-old star said: “This is the first time in my lifetime where I have been aware of a women’s worth being questioned. I know it happens all the time everywhere, but I never felt it. It’s made me so much more aware and empathetic to the challenges that women face always, because I’ve been really fortunate. I think it’s just so important that we come together and build each other up–and that we remind women of their value. It’s really beautiful to see women come together. It’s something I’ve never seen.”
Meanwhile, Blake previously stated her belief that celebrities have helped to create “unrealistic beauty standards” and admitted becoming a parent has made her determined to ensure that her children are made aware of the difference between perception and reality.
The blonde beauty told Refinery29: “There’s this awareness of what they’re going to be exposed to and what they grow up seeing.
“For me, it’s important for my daughters to know that it’s not real life. They’re seeing me dressed up in all this hair and make-up, but they also see me without that. I want them to see both sides, because there is never just one side.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Susan Sarandon says her sexual orientation is “up for grabs”.
The 70-year-old actress – who was previously married to Chris Sarandon and had long-term relationships with Franco Amurri and Tim Robbins – admitted that she is open to dating both men and women.
She told Pridesource.com: “I’m open. My sexual orientation is up for grabs, I guess you could say.”
However, Susan claims she is not getting many offers from either men or women these days.
She said: “Well, I’m a serial monogamist, so I haven’t really had a large dating career. I married Chris Sarandon when I was 20, and that went on for quite a while – each of my relationships have. I haven’t exactly been in the midst of a lot of offers of any kind. I’m still not! I don’t know what’s going on! But I think back in the ’60s it just was much more open.”
The actress – who has been a firm supporter of LGBT rights for decades – also revealed that she once had a passionate fling with her ‘The Hunger’ co-star Philip Sayer, who was gay.
She said: “I did at one point have a very successful and very loving and wonderful affair with a man who then wasn’t with another woman after me, and that worked out fine! I don’t think you had to declare yourself as rigidly as you do now in terms of having to declare yourself almost politically about your sexual preference.
“Philip Sayer, he was a wonderful actor. He passed away, but yes, he was gay, and we had a great relationship in every way.”
And Susan explained that she has always had an affinity with “outsiders” as she feels like one herself.
She explained: “I feel like an outsider myself. My people, my family for all these years have always been my allies and have always been very, very important to me, very dear to me through the AIDS crisis and everything. It’s just a natural, very easy extended family for me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwen Stefani finds it “a little bit weird” working with Blake Shelton on ‘The Voice’.
The No Doubt frontwoman often finds herself discussing her contestants with her country singer boyfriend – who met on the show – and asking for advice, before realising they are in competition with one another, so never knows how much work chat they should indulge in.
She said: “I was nervous at first.
“I was like, ‘Wait, is this going to be awkward? How am I going to act?’
“It’s just natural. Sometimes it is a little bit [weird]. We’re driving home and I’m like, ‘Do you think I should put them together?’ And then I’m like, ‘Wait a minute! I’m not going to talk to you about this! I don’t know if you are the enemy. This is confusing.’
” We actually do help each other, and I’ve learned a lot about country music – just in [the] last year – through him.”
However, the 47-year-old singer largely feels “comfortable” working on the talent show as the coaches, which this year also include Adam Levine and Alicia Keys, have such a great bond.
Speaking on ‘Today’, she said: “Three seasons [in], you get comfortable. [I love] the chemistry between the coaches! Alicia Keys is just so magical. Adam and I, we’ve known each other for a while

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Upton says it is “inspiring” to have Christie Brinkley in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue at the age of 63.
The 24-year-old blonde bombshell has landed the cover of the special annual edition of the magazine for a third time having previously been chosen as the poster girl for the publication in 2012 and 2013.
Kate – who saw her image on the magazine projected onto the Empire State Building in New York City on Tuesday (14.02.17) – is delighted that model-and-actress Christie is back in the mag looking absolutely incredible in her seventh decade.
Kate said: “It’s so inspiring to see Christie back in the issue and looking incredible. And it just really shows you, no matter your age, you always have your youth and your spirit with you. It always feels great to be a part of Sports Illustrated, but especially this year because of what the issue is all about. Having women of every shape and size and beauty and every age of beauty. It just felt really special when they asked me to come back for this issue.”
Christie was a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue cover star three years in a row in 1979, 1980 and 1981 and appeared in the magazine eight times between 1975 and 2004.
In a first for the publication, Christie poses with her daughters Sailor Brinkley Cook, 18, and Alexa Ray Joel, 31, and admitted that the shoot was a huge moment for her and her girls.
Christie said: “This is a real full circle moment for me. I can get very emotional about this. How many years ago, I was that insecure girl hoping that I would be good enough for the magazine. So to see my daughters now having the same thoughts I had, and to be able to see them actually be there on the job, was definitely a big moment.”
Alexa, is Christie’s daughter with her second husband, singer Billy Joel, and Sailor is her child with her fourth spouse, architect Peter Halsey Cook.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Rhys Meyers has shared the first picture of his baby son Wolf Rhys Meyers.
The 39-year-old actor and his partner Mara Lane took to social media on Wednesday (15.02.17) to publicly post an image of their first child together two months after the tiny tot was born on December 15 last year in a home birth.
A sweet photo posted on their Instagram account of their child had a heartfelt messaged emblazoned over it, which read: “Happy Valentine’s Day, mommy. I love you. Love, Wolfie.”
And the upload was captioned: “Valentine’s Day everyday #DaddyHelpedMeMakeThisCard in #BabyBliss #SleepyBabyBoy#AngelChild #LoveAndPeace to everyone (sic).”
The couple began dating in 2013 and reportedly got engaged in 2014, although neither of them have ever confirmed their engagement.
There were rumours the pair had tied the knot in September when Jonathan was spotted wearing a gold band on his ring finger.
And the brunette beauty has set tongues wagging the pair have married in secret as she recently shared a picture of her new passport beside her older copy, which sees her list her surname as the same as ‘The Tudors’ star, although only part of his family title, Rhys, is visible in the image.

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Damon’s kids “loved” his hair extensions.
The 46-year-old star spent 12 hours having lengthy locks added for his role in ‘The Great Wall’ and he found the process “weird”, but his daughters Isabella, 10, Alexia, 17, Gia, eight, and six-year-old Stella – who he has with his wife Luciana Barroso – enjoyed his new look.
He said: ” I’d never done that before – 700 extensions [and] it took 12 hours.
“The tiny glue [extensions], which is weird. And then I lived with it for five months…The kids loved it. The kids were into it for like a week and then they kind forgot about it.
“I got good at doing the hair ties, just to get a ponytail up.”
But after five months of long hair, Matt couldn’t wait to get rid of the “rat’s nest” on his head.
He told E! News: “I flew from China and went to do a day of extra filming on ‘The Martian’ and so I flew to Hungary, landed, went into the production office, and cut all that hair off, and left it on the floor on Hungary.
“It was a rat’s nest…It was so gross. It was so nasty.”
While Matt can be seen shooting a bow and arrow in his new movie – in which he plays an English mercenary who finds himself battling monsters in ancient China – he admits all was not as it seemed and he is certainly not in a position to try his skills against Jennifer Lawrence, who used similar weaponry to great success in the ‘Hunger Games’ franchise.
He admitted: “With a CGI arrow, I’m pretty damn good. But with an actual arrow, not so much.
“She’s got a good grasp on that whole thing. I think she’s got me beat.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Metallica’s James Hetfield was “livid” after his Grammy Awards performance mishap.
The 53-year-old rocker’s vocals were completely inaudible in Los Angeles’ Staples Center on Sunday (12.02.17) during the group’s duet with Lady Gaga because his microphone was switched off, and though he overcome the difficulty by sharing the ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker’s mic for the second part of the performance of ‘Moth Into Flame’, his bandmates had never seen him so angry for years afterwards.
Drummer Lars Ulrich said: “I haven’t seen him like that in 20 years.
“I mean he was livid. I mean, he’s aged really well and he’s a pretty chill guy, but the first five or 10 minutes in that dressing room was not a lot of fun.”
But despite the mishap, the group powered through as best as they could as they didn’t realise the extent of the difficulties and think they were still able to produce a solid performance.
Speaking to ‘Late Late Show’ host James Corden – who also presented the Grammys – Lars said: “Well, in the heat of the battle you’re out there you’re playing when it’s a technical issue you don’t really know is it going to the house, is his vocals gong to the truck? Maybe it’s the monitors, so you just gotta keep playing.
“We fought through it, and, you know, with the fire and Gaga in my lap for a minute at one point, it was just keep going, keep going, keep going. So we just fought through it, and a lot of people said it at least made for great television.”
And this wasn’t the first time the ‘Nothing Else Matters’ group – which also includes Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo – have had an embarrassing moment on stage, as one concert saw Lars spend 15 minutes off the stage, although he was still bashing away on the percussion instrument.
He explained: “In 35 years we’ve had a few mishaps.
“I spent 15 minutes playing two or three songs under the stage.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tara Palmer-Tomkinson died from a perforated stomach ulcer.
The 45-year-old socialite’s cause of death has been a hot topic of conversation since her body was found by her cleaner at her home in west London on February 8 but her sister has now confirmed that she passed away in her sleep from “natural causes.”
Taking to her Twitter account on Wednesday (15.02.17), Santa Montefiore wrote in a series of tweets: “I’ve been so touched by the warm response to Tara’s death.Thank you from the whole family. But I’d like to clarify a couple of points…
“Today the Coroner’s report states that Tara died of natural causes – a perforated ulcer. She did not have a brain tumour. (sic).”
Santa is adamant that Tara had spent the final days of her life in “high spirits” and had started making plans about her future, and had even penned a new song.
She explained: “Tara’s good friends & family know that she was in high spirits in her last days. She had plans, trips & had written a moving new song. (sic)”
The brunette beauty had told the world last year that she was convinced she had just “weeks to live” after she was told she had a brain tumour and was suffering from a rare auto-immune condition which saw abnormal antibodies attack the cells and tissues.
However, it’s not known whether Tara had the tumour, which she said was on pituitary gland, removed prior to her death or whether she never actually had one.
It was recently revealed that the former model had joked about her death just days before she met her ultimate end with her close friend Emily Maddick.
Writing in this week’s Grazia magazine, of which she’s assistant editor, Emily said: “After the call she sent her final text to me: ‘Hey Crystals [Tara’s nickname for Emily], if I do suddenly go… u make sure you keep hanging out in graveyards… otherwise I will come back and spook u!! Joke!! I have a long life and I fully believe it. (sic)’ ”
Tara’s family previously revealed a private funeral will be held for her in due course.

OHMYGOSSIP — Keanu Reeves has left it “too late” to settle down and have children.
The 52-year-old actor – whose daughter Ava was tragically stillborn in December 1999, just a month before his girlfriend Jennifer Syme died in a car accident – is resigned to the fact he will never start a family of his own.
Asked if he wants to settle down, he said: “I’m too… it’s too late. It’s over.
“I’m 52. I’m not going to have any kids.”
But the ‘John Wick: Chapter 2’ star is determined to cram as much as he can into his life and admitted he is only just starting to “get better” at accepting he’s getting old.
He told Britain’s Esquire magazine: “I’m every cliché. F**king mortality. Ageing. I’m just starting to get better at it.
“Just the amount of stuff you have to do before you’re dead. I’m all of the clichés, and it’s embarrassing.
“It’s all of them. It’s just, ‘Oh my God. OK. Where did the time go? How come things are changing? How much time do I have left? What didn’t I do?’ ”
Keanu hasn’t spoken to his father Samuel – who was arrested and jailed for drug dealing in 1994 – since he was 13 years old but thinks he has inherited certain personality traits from both his Chinese-Hawaiian father and his British mother Patricia.
He said: “I don’t know my father that well but I think that we probably have the same kind of certain sense of humour, share a little sense of the humour, the way we look at the world. And then from my mum… she’s English. There’s a formality to her. So, I think partly some of my kind of formality. I would say that. Yeah.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Levine is “so in love” with his baby daughter.
The Maroon 5 frontman and wife Behati Prinsloo welcomed Dusty Rose into the world four months ago and he finds the depth of his feelings for the tot “crazy”.
He said: “She’s unbelievable. I’m so in love with her. It’s crazy.”
And Dusty isn’t the only “crazy” thing in Adam’s life as the 37-year-old singer was amazed to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week.
He said:” [That was] super crazy. I can’t believe it’s actually there. It was badass.”
Away from his music career, Adam is also a coach on ‘The Voice’ and admits he finds the relationship between his co-panelists Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani – who got together in late 2015 in the wake of the breakdown of their marriages to Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale respectively – “weird”.
Discussing how he likes to see changes on the panel to keep things fresh, he told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview airing on Wednesday (15.02.17): “It does start to kinda feel like – you know, we’re always doing it. It’s always happening. So, it kinda starts to feel like a weird, like, ‘Groundhog Day’ meets, like, ‘The Twilight Zone’.

But the ‘She Will Be Loved’ singer admitted he likes to annoy his friend Blake by drawing attention to the fact he and Pharrell Williams get to sit next to Gwen while the country singer is on his own.
He admitted: “I like to rub [that] in his face constantly. You know, I got, ‘Your girlfriend’s over here with me.’ ”
And Adam has fun every day working on the star-search show.
He said: “I mean, it’s still so fun. It really, really is. Like, it’s still a blast to shoot, and everyone that loves the show and approaches me, I always tell them, ‘It’s a delight to do that show.’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Lively thinks celebrities have helped to create “unrealistic beauty standards”.
The 29-year-old actress believes the image celebrities present of themselves on the red carpet gives society a warped perception of reality, admitting it “takes a lot of effort and a lot of people” to look as glamorous as some stars do.
She shared: “We have really unrealistic beauty standards and beauty norms.
“What you’re seeing on red carpets and in magazines takes a lot of effort and a lot of people. People don’t understand that it’s all very constructed. What little girls are seeing isn’t what [these celebrities] look like when they wake up in the morning – even though it’s no less beautiful.”
The ‘Shallows’ actress – who shares a two-year-old daughter called James and a four-month-old daughter called Ines with her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds – admitted becoming a parent has changed her attitude towards the issue.
Blake said she is determined that her children are made aware of the difference between perception and reality.
The blonde beauty told Refinery29: “There’s this awareness of what they’re going to be exposed to and what they grow up seeing.
“For me, it’s important for my daughters to know that it’s not real life. They’re seeing me dressed up in all this hair and make-up, but they also see me without that. I want them to see both sides, because there is never just one side.”
Meanwhile, Ryan recently admitted that his eldest daughter James is “infatuated” with her younger sister.
The Hollywood hunk, who married Blake in 2012, said the best thing about fatherhood is seeing their close bond.
He shared: “Just seeing my older daughter be so infatuated with our younger daughter, who’s four months old. Seeing her kiss her and hug her and hold her, it kinda crushed me. But would put anyone else to sleep.”
