Celine Dion can't shop

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion has “never” gone shopping like an “ordinary” person.
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer – who has sons Rene-Charles, 16, and Nelson and Eddy, six, with late husband Rene Angelil – admits her fame means she gets mobbed when she goes into stores, and even before she became a household name, the chaotic life as the youngest of 14 children meant she never had the luxury of casual browsing.
She said: “I love fashion a lot, obviously. I’m a woman on top of it, but it’s hard for me to go window shopping. That’s bad, it ain’t happening with me, there’s no window shopping. But I have such a wonderful relationship with my fans, even more than ever. People had so much compassion since Rene passed. I’ve always been accessible like an open book…
“I’ve never had the regular thing of being ordinary and going window shopping. It’s not me to want to go into a store that’s closed and opens just for me even though I love shopping too much.
“I’ve never been able to go shopping. Even when I was 11, I was at the kitchen table singing for my brothers and sisters.”
And the 48-year-old singer realised just how big a star she had become when she attempted to go shopping in Japan, and ended up having to “run” away from the store after a “little panic” developed over her presence.
She told Las Vegas Review Journal: “One time in Japan, I was shopping, and we thought it was going to be OK, but I was being followed. I turned around, they had to put up a red cable between me and the crowd.
“I had to run because there was a little panic going on. People started to accumulate, and I started to run on the sidewalk. I had to push through a doorway window to get into the car.
“There was about 300 to 400 people shaking the car. I’d been recognised, and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I thought The Beatles were still alive.
“I’m not saying this pretentiously, but I never thought something like this could happen to me. I understood that if I want to do something normal, I have to organise my freedom. My team gives me some distance.”

Demi Lovato wants to have a conversation about mental health

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato is glad she has “created a conversation” about mental health by opening up about her own struggles.
The ‘Cool for the Summer’ hitmaker – who has been vocal about her bipolar disorder and her battles with bulimia – feels “spiritually” better when she talks about what she goes through as it goes some way to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health.
She said: “I hope that this film will show people that there is nothing wrong with having a mental health condition. If you do have one, you are able to live well and thrive with a mental health condition, if you are able to speak up and be vocal about the things you are going through.
“There’s something about when you speak out and are vocal about your story, it’s very inviting to others who are dealing with the same thing. And if you can make that impact on somebody’s life, it does something for you spiritually that makes you want to tell the story again and again and again.
“It’s very important we create conversations, we take away the stigma, and that we stand up for ourselves if we’re dealing with the symptoms of a mental illness. It is possible to live well and thrive with a mental illness.”
And inspired by her own mental health struggles, the 24-year-old singer decided to sign up to executive-produce a documentary called ‘Beyond Silence’, which follows three people suffering from three very different mental health issues.
Speaking about the three individuals, she added to Variety.com: “You can hear in the documentary how different they are, but also how alike they are. It’s important that we get that message out there because mental health is so important – it’s just important as physical health.”

Shia LaBeouf shuts down anti-Trump project

OHMYGOSSIP — Shia LaBeouf has shut down his anti-Donald Trump project after gunshots were reported in the Albuquerque area.
The 30-year-old actor set up the project – entitled ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ – after President Trump’s inauguration last month, which invited the public to recite the title phrase into a camera linked up to a livestream at hewillnotdivide.us, and was supposed to run for the duration of the president’s four-year term.
However, taking to Twitter on Thursday (23.02.17), the ‘American Honey’ actor announced that the project would no longer be running, after reports of gunshots in the area left him concerned for the safety of willing participants.
He wrote: “We have taken the stream down after shots were reported in the area. The safety of everybody participating in our project is paramount.”
The news comes after Shia – along with Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner, who also produced the project – released a statement last week announcing the protest project would be moving from its home at the Museum of Moving Image in Queens, New York, to Albuquerque’s El Rey Theatre after concerns of violence were raised at the original site.
Taking to website thecampaignbook.com, the trio wrote: “From the outset, the museum failed to address our concerns about the misleading framing of our piece as a political rally, rather than as a participatory performance artwork resisting the normalisation of division.
“In fact, the museum demonstrated a spectacular lack of judgement – and courtesy to us as artists – by neglecting to consult us when they staged a political rally at the site of our artwork on January 29, 2017.
“On numerous occasions, we voiced serious concerns to the museum about hate speech occurring at the site of our project, and requested that the museum act responsibly in moderating this and providing the public a means of reporting such incidents. Our requests were not even acknowledged, let alone acted upon.”
According to TMZ.com, police claim no-one was found with a gun at the Albuquerque site, and it is unknown as of yet whether the project will be revived at a later date.

Mr T joins Dancing with the Stars?

OHMYGOSSIP — Mr. T and Simone Biles will compete on the next season of ‘Dancing With the Stars’.
The 64-year-old wrestler – who hasn’t appeared on screen since TV movie ‘WrestleMania XXX’ in 2014 – has been a target for show bosses for years, so producers are delighted he has reportedly signed up to showcase his ballroom skills.
A source told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Production has been trying to get Mr. T to do the show for years! He will be a great contestant this season.”
Meanwhile, Simone, 19, admitted last summer she had been asked to compete on the show later that year but couldn’t because she was scheduled to participate in Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions from September until November, but “would love” to take part at some point.
She said: “I would love to [join ‘DWTS’], but the fall season won’t work because [of] the tour. If I could do the spring season, I would love to do that!”
And the Olympic gymnast even admitted she knew who she’d love to have as a partner.
She said: “I think [I’d like to dance with] Sasha [Farber].
“I think it would be cool to be with Sasha.”
The official line-up for season 24 will be announced on March 1, ahead of the series premiering on ABC on March 20.
Meanwhile, professional dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd – whose son Shai was born last month – recently revealed they are coming back for the new season.
Peta said: “I’m definitely a little bit nervous but I’m very excited to get back. I’ve definitely missed the dance floor. I haven’t been able to defend my title with Nyle [DiMarco].”
And her fiance joked: “I just want to make her coming back and winning as difficult as possible. Yeah, somebody has to pose some competition.”

Amber Rose buys strip club

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Rose has bought a strip club.
The 33-year-old model – who used to be a stripper – revealed at the All Def Movie Awards on Wednesday (22.02.17) that she is the new owner of raunchy Los Angeles nightspot Ace of Diamonds.
Speaking as she picked up the Vanguard award for her SlutWalk activism, she said in a video shared by The Shade Room: “I was a dancer, I was an exotic dancer, I was stripper for a very long time. Best time of my life, by the way. I had the time of my life.
“But do y’all know Ace of Diamonds? Well, I bought it. So this is to every girl out there, every stripper, ya’ll can one day be on stage with Russell Simmons, receiving an award.”
Amber has bought a 60 per cent share of the business, and Jason Robertson, the co-owner and operator of Ace of Diamonds has praised the “boss lady” for the way she wants to work with the women who dance at the club.
He told E! News: “Her role is the boss lady.
“She is bringing in these dancers and these women and hostesses are having women’s rights more than what they had before.
“It’s not going to be them treated like pieces of meat. She’s brought in more of a structure where you have to respect what they’re doing. With that, I can’t say no to that. She understands it. She comes from it. She understands women more than anybody, I believe. She stands up for women more than anybody, I believe and she has overwhelming power over the whole situation.”
Last summer, the talk show host and her ex-husband Wiz Khalifa – who have son Sebastian, four, together – celebrated reaching a divorce settlement at Ace of Diamonds, and the pair spent $30,000 on strippers.
She previously said: “It’s so crazy that we are literally the best of friends. We hang out all the time. We have family days with the baby.
“We just went out to a strip club the other night together – without the baby. Just me and Wiz. We had a great time. We spent like [$30,000] on strippers. It was sick. It was so cool.”

Fadi Fawaz praises George Michael BRITs tribute

OHMYGOSSIP — Fadi Fawaz was left heartbroken by the BRIT Awards tribute to George Michael.
The 43-year-old hairdresser – who found his partner dead in bed on Christmas Day (25.12.16) – was deeply moved by both Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s rendition of ‘A Different Corner’, which also featured vocals from George, and the touching speeches given by the singer’s former Wham! bandmate Andrew Ridgeley and the duo’s backing singers Helen ‘Pepsi’ DeMacque and Shirlie Holliman, known as Pepsi & Shirley at the prestigious ceremony at London’s The O2 on Wednesday (22.02.17).
And Fadi also felt George would have approved of Chris being chosen for the tribute segment.
He tweeted: ” “I loved the tribute at Brits, Ex Wham touched me while the duets broke my heart.
“George loved Coldplay music very much.
“Chris was great and George was the man x (sic)”
The moving performance saw Chris, 39, accompanied by just a piano player as he began singing the late star’s 1986 hit ‘A Different Corner’ and then midway through the performance, a recording of George singing the same track was broadcast on a giant video screen and the pair sang in perfect harmony.
Poignant footage of George speaking was also aired as Chris sang.
Before the tribute, guests and fans in attendance at the show were asked to stay silent for the entirety of the performance.
At the end of the song the star-studded audience, which included the likes of Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Rag’n’Bone Man, Rita Ora and Charli XCX, rose as one to give a standing ovation.
Remembering George, Andrew, 54, had said: “We were two boys who shared a love of life-affirming music and a sense that we understood it. ‘Careless Whisper’ was the song that got us signed, showed his extraordinary talent and the song which launched his solo career … He understood love, loss and grief and in his music, he helped to heal the wounds life left on us.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dwayne Johnson has vowed to “completely destroy multiple burgers and fries” at In-N-Out Burger if ‘Moana’ wins at The Oscars 2017.
The 44-year-old actor has “never” enjoyed a fast food feast from the American restaurant chain, but after receiving excellent service when he treated his partner Lauren Hashian and 15-year-old daughter Simone – who he has with his former partner Dany Garcia – to a burger and milkshake, he promised to return to enjoy a “cheat meal” in his tuxedo following the star studded event on Sunday (26.02.17).

And the muscular hunk – who was known as The Rock when he was a professional wrestler – regularly gets stopped and asked by fans to sing ‘You’re Welcome’ from the popular movie.
Speaking previously, he said: “One of the coolest parts of this whole thing is having everyone from truck drivers to toddlers, from lovely ladies to dudes in the gym… they all ask to me sing a few lines of “You’re Welcome” to which I respectfully reply, ‘You can taste the steak all you want, but the gravy ain’t free’. They look confused and start nervously laughing.. I just stare and make the whole thing uncomfortable.. then I break out in laughter.. then they break out in laughter.. then I start singing.. then they start singing with me.. then I stop and say, “no seriously, pay up”. Everyone wins. #Moana #YoureWelcome #DigitalHD TODAY! (sic).”

Dame Helen Mirren only started smiling in her 'mid-thirties'

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Helen Mirren learnt to smile in her “mid-thirties”.
The 71-year-old movie legend avoided grinning at people for over three-decades because she thought she looked “stupid” when the corners of her mouth turned upwards, but after she urged herself to grin more she noticed it instantly made her feel “a little bit better”.
Speaking about her difficulty with the expression on ‘Victoria Derbyshire’ on Thursday (23.02.17), the ‘The Queen’ actress said: “It was only actually in my mid-thirties that I learnt to smile. I couldn’t smile before that, I thought I looked stupid when I smiled.
“And then I learnt the power of a smile and funnily enough when you smile, even if you don’t feel like smiling, you immediately feel a bit better.
“Life feels a little bit better when you’re smiling.”
However, Helen has admitted she has battled with her lack of self-esteem throughout her life, and she still struggles to feel positive on a “daily basis”, a trait she believes “everybody else” suffers with.
She explained: “I don’t know if anyone else is different than me but it’s something I have to handle on almost a daily basis.
“But certainly it’s something I am aware of on a daily basis, you know, self-questioning.
“Certainly, it’s more exacerbated I think when you’re younger because you don’t quite know what your place in the world is going to be.
“But I think those moments of self-esteem certainly don’t go away as far as I’m concerned, you know, into your adulthood.
“The only comfort I find is I think everybody else is like that as well.”
But Helen believes her lack of confidence led her to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
She said: “It may be one of the reasons I became an actress.”

Oprah Winfrey 'wouldn't have been a good mom'

OHMYGOSSIP — Oprah Winfrey believes she “wouldn’t have been a good mom.”
The 63-year-old star has no regrets about not having children of her own because she doesn’t “have the patience” for babies.
The media mogul said: “I didn’t want babies. I wouldn’t have been a good mom for babies. I don’t have the patience. I have the patience for puppies, but that’s a quick stage!”
Oprah, who gave birth to a son when she was just 14, but he died in hospital a few weeks later, doesn’t think she missed out on being a parent because she’s a mother figure to the 172 girls at her Leadership Academy boarding school in Johannesburg, South Africa.
She told the April issue of Good Housekeeping UK magazine: “When people were pressuring me to get married and have children, I knew I was not going to be a person that ever regretted not having them, because I feel like I am a mother to the world’s children.
“Love knows no boundaries. It doesn’t matter if a child came from your womb or if you found that person at age two, 10 or 20. If the love is real, the caring is pure and it comes from a good space, it works.”
Discussing her involvement in the boarding school, she added: “It is more rewarding than I would ever have imagined. I was doing this to help them, but it has brought a light to my life that I can’t explain.”

Paula Patton claims Robin Thicke threatened arrest

OHMYGOSSIP — Paula Patton claims Robin Thicke threatened to have her arrested for kidnapping their six-year-old son, Julian.
The 41-year-old actress, who is currently embroiled in a bitter custody battle with her ex-husband, alleges in new court documents, obtained by gossip website TMZ.com, that he “willfully, intentionally, and wrongfully changed/fabricated a Court Order specifying custodial timeshare of the couple’s minor child” and “threatened to have [Paula] arrested for kidnapping premised upon the false and fraudulent court order” shortly before she was awarded temporary sole custody in January.
But a source close to ‘Blurred Lines’ hitmaker Robin, 39, insists they came to a custody agreement in February 2015 with a mediator and documented the details in notarized, private papers.
The insider told PEOPLE.com: “The document read exactly as it did on Feb. 4, 2015 when both parties agreed and signed, and there was nothing changed on that document.”
The actress is also accusing Robin and his team of engaging “in conduct specifically designed to influence the outcome of the DCFS investigation,” claiming the singer “took a DCFS case worker out for an expensive sushi dinner while DCFS was actively investigating allegations of abuse perpetrated by Mr. Thicke.”
But the source close to Robin says the dinner, which took place at Nobu in Los Angeles, was merely where he took Julian during one of his supervised visits and the DCFS worker did not sit at their table.
A judge granted Paula sole custody of Julian after she alleged in court documents that her ex physically abused her, was unfaithful and struggles with drug and alcohol addictions.
And under a temporary restraining order taken out against him, Robin is also required to stay 100 yards away from Paula, her mother and Julian outside of the pre-arranged visitation hours.
The duo, who split in 2015 after 21 years together, are due to appear in court later today (24.02.17).

Don Cheadle wants to babysit Clooney twins

OHMYGOSSIP — Don Cheadle wants to babysit for George Clooney.
The 52-year-old actor joked he wouldn’t trust his close pal, whose wife Amal Clooney is pregnant with twins, to look after his own daughters, Ayana Tai, 20, and Imani, 18, but says he’ll happily take care of the ‘Monuments Men’ star’s babies after they’re born in June.
Asked if he’d let George get some parenting practice with his children, Don said: “No practice. You’ve got to break your own kids on your own. He’s got to figure it out. I’ll take his though. Yeah why not, I love babies. Everybody needs help. I’ll take ’em.”
The ‘Miles Ahead’ writer, director and star, who has been married to actress Bridgid Coulter for 25 years, misses having young children around.
He told gossip website TMZ.com: “I love the little ones, I miss them, so they [George and Amal’s children] can hang with me for the whole time.”
Despite recently joking that George is “going to be a terrible parent,” Don has no doubt the Oscar winner will be a great father.
He said: “He’ll be fine. He’ll be fine.”
The duo have been close friends for decades and co-direct Not On Our Watch, a foundation committed to robust advocacy and research in support of global human rights, with famous friends Matt Damon and Brad Pitt.

Allison Williams feels like she 'broke up' with 'Girls' cast

OHMYGOSSIP — Allison Williams feels like she “broke up” with her former ‘Girls’ co-stars.
The 28-year-old actress admits she has barely seen Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet since they wrapped up filming the sixth and final series of the HBO show in September.
She said: “I’m still in a place where I’m on a group chat with the girls and we just kind of say, ‘I love you’ every once in awhile, in a way that feels like we just broke up, but we’re trying to stay on good terms. It feels really weird.”
Meanwhile, the star was devastated not to be cast in ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ even though she never auditioned for the new film, which stars Emma Watson as Belle.
Discussing projects that didn’t work out, Allison said: “The thing that comes to mind most quickly did not even come to me. It didn’t even come my way because it had already been taken by someone. But it’s Belle [from ‘Beauty and the Beast’].
“I’m just getting to a point where I can watch the whole trailer, because — no, don’t laugh!”
The newly-blonde beauty has always been a huge fan of the Disney character, telling MTV.com: “Belle is on my retainer. There are Belle flowers on my iPhone. These come from a Belle sticker pack. It’s fine.
“I feel like I am who I am because of her, but maybe that’s too much.
“So when I heard that the movie was being made, I heard at the same time, either because I was late to the news or whatever, that Emma was playing [Belle]. And I had this thought that if anyone has to play Belle, it’s gotta be her. You know? She feels like Belle to me.”

Jimmy Kimmel wanted more notice for Oscars

OHMYGOSSIP — Jimmy Kimmel felt “like a distant relative had died” after being asked to host the Oscars.
The 49-year-old funnyman, who is presenting the prestigious ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday (26.02.17), was disappointed to only be offered the job for the first time in December, as he would have liked more time to prepare.
He said: “It was like a distant relative had died, in that I knew what was ahead. I work a lot. I work 12 hours a day. Having time to think about what you might do with a big show like this is important to me . . . I was bummed it didn’t come a week or two earlier, cause then I could get a jump on it.”
The American chat show presenter says the 89th annual ceremony “will definitely be significantly longer than” three hours long but plans to focus on making the A-list audience laugh by being spontaneous.
He told VanityFair.com: “It’s really the only thing I have. I can’t sing or dance. I’m not an actor. I figured I’ll stick with my strengths. A big song-and-dance number is something people assume you might do. That was never in the plan.”
Jimmy’s entire family have been begging for one of his 12 allocated tickets to the show and he admits: “It’s like having a tiny wedding.”

Gavin Rossdale respects Gwen Stefani

OHMYGOSSIP — Gavin Rossdale “would never” speak ill of ex-wife Gwen Stefani.
The Bush frontman admits his split from the ‘Voice’ coach, with whom he has three sons, Kingston, 10, Zuma, eight, and Apollo, two, in August 2015 after 13 years of marriage inspired much his band’s forthcoming album, ‘Black and White Rainbows,” but there is no drama between them.
He said: “[Respecting Gwen] comes real natural to me. She’s amazing, so why would I think anything less?
“It [the divorce] obviously informs the record. It’s hard to separate yourself from the most monumental thing that happens in your life if you’re an artist.”
Asked what he appreciates most about the No Doubt hitmaker, he added: “Just how much she loves [the kids].
“We both have the same interest at heart. [Our kids’] happiness. It’s really simple.”
The 51-year-old singer decided not to include some of first songs he wrote immediately after their split on the album because they are too personal.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “There were certain songs that weren’t right. They were written for me to write, in the purest sense. Just to write to kind of escape my life a little bit or to understand it.”
But Gavin enjoys sharing his feelings with his fans, “whether it’s personal, whether it’s going through my divorce, whether it’s seeing these images on the TV of these people or feeling the effects of global warming.”
He added: “I just tried to be mindful of having elements of my own life and then elements of things going on around us. Because you can’t be so self-absorbed that you just write stuff about yourself.”

Casey Affleck teams up with PETA again

OHMYGOSSIP — Casey Affleck has teamed up with PETA to speak out against animal cruelty.
The ‘Manchester by the Sea’ star, who is nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars on Sunday (26.02.17), appears in a disturbing new video for the animal welfare organisation, urging people to boycott circuses due to their alleged mistreatment of lions and tigers.
In the short montage, the 41-year-old actor claims: “This industry tears families apart and subjects individuals to a life of torment and deprivation. (Trainers) drag the big cats around by heavy chains or ropes around their necks and hit them with sticks, poles, and whips. They beat them mercilessly and bully them into jumping through hoops.”
The video includes footage of distressed and trembling animals being transported in caged carts.
PETA, which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, also claims many circuses still “exploit big cats.”
Animal rights are clearly an issue close to Casey’s heart as he also teamed up with PETA last year to speak out against the mistreatment of bears at roadside zoos.
The outspoken vegan, who has been dedicated to eating a plant-based diet for almost 20 years, also previously took aim at the meat industry, calling meat “poison” that is “proven to contribute to heart disease and cancer.”
