Nikki Glaser reveals theory of who was behind Kim Kardashian roast heckles

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Glaser is convinced a “wild guy who’s a comedian” and disgruntled sports fans were behind Kim Kardashian being booed at Tom Brady’s roast.
The comic, 39, was with Kim, 43, as part of the panel of roasters at the live Netflix special that aired on 5 May from the Kia Forum in California, which saw the reality TV veteran met with a barrage of heckles as she took to the stage to mock ex-NFL player Tom.
Nikki has now told the ‘Not Skinny But Not Fat’ podcast she “ran into someone” at the Comedy Store in West Hollywood, California, after the event, and they were with some “wild guy who’s a comedian” with a “reputation for just, like, starting s***”.
She said about how she believed he was behind targeting Kim: “Apparently, he started the boo as just, like, a joke. He just had too many drinks or something.”
Nikki added the audience of the roast was mostly made up of “sports fans” who were probably not fans of Kim and her Kardashian clan, so they could also have been booing her.
She said: “It just kinda caught wind… (there were) sports fans wanting to have some sort of release to boo”.
Nikki went on: “The guy started it started it as a joke, and it caught on too much.”
The comic also defended the Kardashians by saying: “I don’t want to hear that anymore that they’re not talented. They clearly are!
“They’ve achieved something consistently for 20 years now. They’re talented! It just doesn’t look like the talent you define.”
Netflix later edited out the torrent of boos against Kim after Tom’s roast was initially shown live on the streamer.
Nikki shared her theory about the heckling after she slammed Ben Affleck for apparently not preparing for his stint on Tom’s roast.
She said on the ‘KFC Radio’ podcast about the 51-year-old’s gags: “I haven’t watched it (back) because I don’t like to watch people bomb.
“(Ben is) someone who’s famous enough that he thinks that this is probably beneath (him) to do this, so (he was like), ‘I’m just gonna do a favour. It’s not going to be that big of a deal.’”
Nikki added she felt Ben had been “phoning it in” at the comedy special, and said he probably had to pitch joke ideas to a group of writers and went with the angle of being “mad” about trolls.
Ben was a surprise guest at 46-year-old Tom’s roast and his so-called jokes included: “You guys out there talking s*** behind your f****** keyboard, that doesn’t make you a fan, that makes you a b****.”
Nikki called his focus on trolling “self-centred” and said: “There were jokes that could have been used to fill up an entire set that would have been amazing, but either they couldn’t get him on the phone enough to work out something, he didn’t practice enough or he just picked a bad premise and then he had to stick to it the whole time.”
Ben’s set was branded one of the worst of the roast by fans, while Nikki was praised for her jibes about Tom’s 2022 divorce from Gisele Bündchen, 43, and how he lost millions of dollars in a cryptocurrency blunder.
Tom – who has children Benjamin, 14, and 11-year-old girl Vivian with his ex-wife, as well as son Jack, 16, with his 53-year-old former partner Bridget Moynahan– has admitted he regrets agreeing to his Netflix roast as his children were “affected” by the gags.

Matthew Perry’s drugs death ‘still being probed by cops’

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Perry’s death is reportedly still under investigation as police hunt for the supplier of the drug that killed the actor.
The ‘Friends’ star was found dead aged 54 in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in October 2023, with an autopsy revealing he had been killed by the “acute effects of ketamine”.
Local police and federal agents are now said to be trying to identify where the actor – who spent years battling drink and drug addictions – bought the drug, according to TMZ.
The outlet reported on Tuesday (21.05.24): “Law enforcement sources tell us there is an ongoing investigation into where Matthew got the ketamine that ended up playing a part in his death – and the main questions are who provided the drug, and under what circumstances.”
Its report went on: “Our sources say both local police and the DEA have been looking into this matter for months, but it’s unclear where exactly investigators are in the probe.
“We do know they’ve already interviewed some key people in Hollywood.
“While our sources could not provide names they told us investigators have approached and spoken to people who are known to have a history of drug use or abuse.
“We’re told those people are not necessarily the actual source of ketamine, but they could have information leading to the source.
“So far, no arrests have been made.”
The LA County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed in December Matthew’s death was drug related.
Drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects were also listed as other contributing factors in his passing.
At the time, a medical expert speculated to Page Six the actor had “likely” obtained ketamine illegally for “recreational use”.
Even though Matthew was undergoing ketamine treatment for anxiety and depression at the time of his passing, his autopsy report noted “the ketamine in his system at death could not be from that infusion therapy”.
Matthew’s ‘Friends’ co-stars have continued to honour him since his death, with his on-screen lover Courteney Cox, 59, telling ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ this weekend she thinks he still “visits” her – adding: “I sense Matthew’s around for sure.”

Tom Hanks brands Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s feud ‘fighting talk’

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hanks says Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s feud sounds like “fighting talk”.
The ‘Forrest Gump’ actor, 67, made the remark after he texted his actor son Chet Hanks, 33, to ask him why the rappers are at war – after the pair exchanged a series of “diss tracks” that led to Drake denying Kendrick’s accusation in one of the songs he was a “certified paedophile”.
Tom’s query came to light after Chet – who his dad calls ‘Big Main’ – posted a screenshot on his Instagram Stories of a text exchange with his “pops” about the rappers’ battle.
Chet joking wrote a huge reply to his dad after he asked him why they were fighting, saying Kendrick, 36, “initiated the beef” and said Drake, 37, had slammed his rival’s “small feet” and called him a “deadbeat” dad to his son Adonis, six, who he has with 34-year-old painter Sophie Brussaux.
The actor added in his reply to Tom: “Drake came back and was like, ‘Oh yeah? Well I heard you beat your wife’, but literally 30 seconds later Kendrick put out a diss overshadowing Drake’s diss where he pretty much methodically dismantled Drake’s entire psyche and called him a paedophile for flirting with young girls.”
Chet also said one of Kendrick’s diss tracks was the musical equivalent of the time he and Tom attended a high school basketball game at his dad’s old school.
He added: “That was pretty much the sonic equivalent of (that visit.)
“Like if you heard it you would just automatically know how to Crip walk with a stank face while clutching an Oscar in each hand with Marshawn Lynch, then dap him up and tell him ‘Town Bidness’ which solidified the win not only for Kendrick but the entire West Coast.”
Tom replied: “Holy cow! These are fighting words.”
When the actor then asked Chet who was “winning” in the feud, his son replied: “Did you not just read what I said?”
Drake earlier this month denied rumours he has slept with underage girls after Kendrick branded him a paedophile on a diss track in the wake of tales from the likes of ‘Stranger Things’ actress Millie Bobby Brown, 20, who said Drake once texted her when she was only 14.
Drake said in his rap response, released online his name was not one “you gon’ see on (any) sex offender list”.
He also used his five-minute track to deny Kendrick’s claim he has a secret daughter.
It comes after Drake released the three-part ‘Family Matters’ diss track on 4 May, in which he accused Kendrick of hypocrisy over his race activism and accused him of domestic violence.
Drake also said the rapper had been “begging” the estate of the late Tupac Shakur to order him to remove a previous diss track aimed at Kendrick that featured an AI version of the murdered musician’s voice.
Kendrick hit back at the song and the accusations within minutes of its release, with his ‘Meet The Grahams’ track accusing Drake of being a secret dad and of being addicted to drugs, drink, gambling, sex and shopping.

Prince William hosts first star-studded garden party of year in place of cancer-battling King Charles

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has hosted his first star-studded garden party of the year in place of King Charles.
The heir to the throne, 41, was joined by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, as well as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday (21.05.24) as his father, 75, continues to receive treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.
William was snapped smiling as he mingled with guests, with the event coming as his wife Princess Catherine, 42, gave an update about her work as she undergoes preventative cancer treatment.
The Sovereign’s Garden Party also included William’s cousin Zara Tindall, who was accompanied by her husband Mike.
Princess Catherine was hailed a “driving force” behind a new early years project before the event.
But courtiers stressed she will not be returning to public duties until doctors give her the “green light”.
Catherine is yet to return to her public-facing role four months after she underwent major abdominal surgery before revealing her cancer diagnosis.
It emerged Catherine has read a 60-page report on her early years project and is tracking the work, which was published on Tuesday.
The mum-of-three – who has children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and five-year-old Prince Louis with William – launched The Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood in March 2023.
A senior royal aide said: “The Princess of Wales was the driving force behind the business task force.
“She has been kept up to date since the inception of the task force and she has read the report and been briefed on it.”
And a spokesman for the princess added: “This should not be seen as the Princess of Wales returning to work.
“The work of the prince and princess’ projects are always on. That is no different at The Centre for Early Childhood over the past five months there has been a huge deal of progress.
“However, early childhood is a huge priority for the Princess of Wales. She has been kept fully up to date throughout the process and the development of the task force’s work and she has seen the report.”

Sean Combs’ music dumped by Peloton in wake of assault scandal

OHMYGOSSIP — Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ music has been dumped by Peloton.
The rapper’s tunes had been used in the exercise bike brand’s classes, but the fitness firm has now issued a statement saying it had “paused” the use of his music from its virtual lessons in the wake of his admission he beat his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura after surveillance camera footage of the 2016 assault emerged on 19 May.
Peleton made the announcement after receiving a comment from a concerned member of its private Facebook group who said: “Dear Peloton, Your next purge needs to be all Diddy classes. Signed, women everywhere.”
Peloton replied: “We take this issue very seriously and can confirm Peloton has paused the use of Sean Combs’ music, as well as removed the Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series, on our platform.
“This means our instructors are no longer using his music in any newly produced classes. Again, thank you for sharing your concerns and thank you for being a member of our Peloton community.”
Peloton’s statement comes days CNN released 2016 footage of Combs, now 54, attacking singer Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura, now 37, at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
Two days after the tape was revealed, Sean issued a video on his Instagram saying he was “truly sorry” for the attack.
The scandal-plagued rapper started the video by saying it was “so difficult” to reflect on the “darkest times of your life”, but said: “Sometimes you have to do that.”
Combs – who has changed his name to Sean Love Combs – added about the attack: “I was f****** up. I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behaviour on that video is inexcusable.
“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it and I’m disgusted now.”
Revealing how he sought help after the 2016 assault: “I went and I sought out professional help and had to go to therapy, had to go to rehab.
“Had to ask God for his mercy and grace.
“I’m so sorry. I’m committed to being a better man each and every day.
“I’m truly sorry.”
Combs was hit with allegations including physical abuse by singer Cassie in a November 2023 lawsuit, which he settled out of court a day after it was lodged.
The 2016 footage was taken from a surveillance camera in a hallway at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, California.
It shows Combs holding a towel around his waist as he chases after Cassie before he strikes her, hurls her to the floor and kicks her as she lies motionless on the ground.
He then grabs her bags and continues to assault Cassie before dragging her across the elevator bank into the hallway.
A second camera angle of the assault shows the singer slowly standing up and gathering her bags after the attack ends – with Combs sitting on a chair directly in front of her as she picks up a phone in the hallway.
Combs is then seen grabbing what seems to be a vase and throwing it at the singer.
The rapper was hit with a wave of lawsuits in late 2023 and early 2024, including allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault.
The cases remain active, and he has denied all claims against him.

Kelly Osbourne says film boss told her she was ‘too fat’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Osbourne says a film executive told her she was “too fat” when she landed a part in a teen comedy film.
The 39-year-old – who has spent years fighting her yo-yo’ing weight – made the admission on her family’s ‘The Osbournes Podcast’ while talking about how she was told to get skinny if she wanted showbiz success.
Kelly added: “When I was a kid, I got pulled into the head of the agency’s office and he was putting golf balls into a cup and gave me a whole speech about how I was too fat for TV and I needed to lose weight, and that if I lost weight, I would look better.”
Kelly decided to not publicly name the executive, said the incident happened after she was cast in Disney’s 2003 adaptation of ‘Freaky Friday’ alongside Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Referring to her 71-year-old mum Sharon’s previous health fight, she said: “I just booked a movie with Lindsay Lohan, ‘Freaky Friday’. I was gonna play her best friend, and then it was right before mom got diagnosed with cancer, so I quit.
“And he was just saying, ‘You’re not a movie star, but you could be one if you lost weight.’ ”
Kelly’s brother Jack, 38, said the incident was “the most LA s*** ever.”
She replied: “I know. As he’s putting golf balls into a cup in his office. And I was just, like, this is the most insulting f****** (experience.)”
Kelly told the ‘Scheananigans’ podcast in September she hid herself away for the whole of her recent pregnancy to avoid being trolled over her body.
And in 2020, the mum-of-one – who had son Sidney Wilson in 2022 with her Slipknot DJ partner Sid Wilson, 47, told in 2020 how she had a gastric sleeve procedure to control her weight.
She stressed at the time she felt there is no “right way” to lose weight, adding in an interview with ‘Hollywood Raw’: “The road to happiness is different for everybody. I think that instead of picking apart the journey, they should just be happy that you reached your destination.”

Computer-generated images were shown during a reception for the unveiling of the proposal, hosted by the Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, while Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 42, were visiting Nigeria, earlier this month.
The couple were given gifts of traditional clothing, entertained by dancers and heard from Nigerian veterans and People reported Harry said service personnel not being “defined by their injuries” was a growing belief among the wounded.
He added at the reception: “And that is what the new centre you’re building is all about. Seeing the plans for the new Invictus Centre gives me goosebumps.”
Harry added that the Nigerian team had been a welcome addition to his Paralympic-style Invictus games for injured military personnel, who he said “represented their service and this country, extraordinarily” and “won medals and came back with smiles on their faces”.
During his three-day trip to Nigeria, Harry also visited a military hospital in Kanuda, meeting dozens of young soldiers who were recovering from gunshot and blast injuries.

“It will help them heal but also is telling them they are not being left alone.”
The next Invictus Games are set for February 2025 in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada.

Sean Combs’ ex Misa Hylton says his assault tape ‘triggered her own trauma’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton says watching him assault his former partner Cassie Ventura has “triggered her own trauma”.
The rapper, 54, who is facing a string of abuse lawsuits, has apologised after surveillance camera footage emerged on 19 May showing him beating Cassie, now 37, at an LA hotel.
His ex Misa, 51, who was his first public relationship and with whom he has son Justin, 30, has now said watching the tape – released by CNN – has dredged up her own “trauma” over being with the rapper.
She said on Instagram alongside photos of Combs’ seven children: “I am heartbroken that Cassie must relive the horror of her abuse, and my heart goes out to her.
“I know exactly how she feels, and through my empathy, it has triggered my own trauma.”
Misa added her child and his siblings “were raised by women that want the best for them”.
Referring to Combs’ 17-year-old twin daughters, Jesse and D’Lila, whose mum Kim Porter died from pneumonia in November 2018 aged 47, she said: “We put God and education first and have always been united in our mutual effort to support their dreams.
“Two of the youngest do not have their mother here and it has been our duty to support them.”
Fashion designer Misa, who dated Combs in the early 1990s, ended her message by saying he “needs help”.
She also said she’s “praying that he truly does the personal work and receives it.”.
Meanwhile, Combs’ former bodyguard has also spoken out about the abuse allegations Combs is facing.
Roger Bonds said in an interview with Piers Morgan he saw Combs become violent towards women “around four or five times”.
Combs issued an apology video on his Instagram days after footage of his attack on Cassie emerged, blaming it on being in a dark place.
He is now facing a series of lawsuits from women lodged in late 2023 and early 2024 that include allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault, and he denies all claims against him.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs facing yet another abuse lawsuit

OHMYGOSSIP — Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been hit with another abuse lawsuit.
The scandal-plagued rapper, 54, who has just apologised for beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura after footage emerged of the 2016 assault, is being accused by model Crystal McKinney of forcing her to perform a sex act on him after allegedly promising her a career boost.
In her filing, which emerged on Tuesday (21.05.24), the former model says she met Combs at a 2003 Men’s Fashion Week event in New York City, where he invited her back to his music studio.
Crystal, who was aged 22 at the time, said the singer and several of his entourage were drinking and smoking marijuana at the studio.
She admitted she smoked with them, describing the weed as “very powerful” and claiming in her suit the joint she had may have been laced with another drug.
Combs then allegedly ordered her to follow him into the bathroom, where Crystal says he forced himself on her by kissing her and shoving her head to his crotch before ordering her to perform a sex act.
The woman said when refused Combs pushed her head down again and forced her into the act.
Crystal adds in her lawsuit she later lost consciousness and woke up in a taxi, where she realized she had been sexually assaulted.
She states she was then blacklisted from the modelling industry and blamed herself for “sabotaging her own career”,
Crystal – who is seeking undisclosed damages from Combs – attempted suicide in 2004 and was hospitalised, according to her filing.
Combs, who has changed his name to Sean Love Combs, said in an apology video on Instagram about his attack on Cassie: “I was f****** up. I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behaviour on that video is inexcusable.
“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it and I’m disgusted now.”
He was hit with a wave of lawsuits in late 2023 and early 2024, including allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault.

Two arrested in connection with Ian Ziering’s biker row

OHMYGOSSIP — Two people have been arrested in connection with a fight involving Ian Ziering and a group of bikers.
The 60-year-old actor – who is best known for playing Steve Sanders on TV series ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ – was seen fighting with a group of riders before being chased across the street in Hollywood in video footage that circulated online at the beginning of the year, and now Los Angeles police have announced Jacob Esteban Hernandez, 20, and 40-year-old Angie Teresa Guizar have been taken into custody in connection with the incident, which took place on New Year’s Eve (31.12.23).
Hernandez was arrested for felony vandalism, while Guizar was booked for assault with a deadly weapon, and the District Attorney’s office must now decide whether to file charges.
According to TMZ, the video footage posted online days after the incident was seen as key evidence in the investigation because it helped police identify the suspects.
The ‘Sharknado’ star previously spoke out about the “alarming” incident.
He wrote on Instagram: “Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes. While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”
Fortunately, Ian and his 12-year-old daughter Mia were “both completely unscathed”, but the incident has left the actor “deeply concerned” about a “larger issue of hooliganism” on the streets.
He added: “I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace.
“This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behaviour. As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behaviour, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient.”

‘Scared’ make-up artist tells of how she saw Cassie Ventura ‘badly bruised’ following Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs row

OHMYGOSSIP — Cassie Ventura’s former make-up artist has told how she saw the singer “badly bruised” following a row with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
Mylah Morales claimed she will never forget what happened between the then-couple at the Beverly Hills Hotel over Grammy Awards weekend 10 years ago, and though she never saw the alleged abuse take place, the ‘Me + You’ singer later came to her with “knots on her head” and a black eye.
She told ‘Extra’: “All I witnessed was [Combs] walking into the room and saying, ‘Where is she?’ and I didn’t know what was going on. I was like, ‘I just woke up from a slumber,’ and next thing you know, all I hear from the bedroom was just [stuff] I don’t want to go back and think about.
“I did not know what was going on … all I can think of was to get her out of there.”
Mylah helped get Cassie, now 37, out of the hotel and cared for her in her own home.
She said: “She was bruised. I mean, badly bruised, like knots on her head, a black eye.
“All I cared about was to get her to safety, and I took her into my house and kept her there for a few days. I literally called my friend, who was a doctor at the time, to treat her because we couldn’t bring her to the hospital. We didn’t know what the hell to do at that point. Who are we going to call?
“I’m scared just even talking about this, but I feel like somebody has to.”
The make-up artist claimed others working for the couple felt intimidated by the 54-year-old rap mogul.
She said: “We were always scared of Puff. He’s a powerful person and we don’t know what would happen to us if we spoke out.”
Mylah’s comments come a week after CNN released security camera footage of Diddy kicking, punching and dragging Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016, and a few days ago the ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ hitmaker addressed his “inexcusable” behaviour.
He said in an apology video on Instagram about his attack on Cassie: “I was f****** up. I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behaviour on that video is inexcusable.
“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it and I’m disgusted now.”
Cassie launched a lawsuit against Diddy last year, accusing her ex-boyfriend of abusing her over a number of years. The former couple reached an out-of-court settlement shortly after the news became public.
However, Diddy – who is facing a number of other sexual misconduct lawsuits – has always maintained his innocence.
Ben Brafman, his attorney, told CNN at the time: “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations.”

Milo Ventimiglia attends This Is Us co-star’s graduation

OHMYGOSSIP — Milo Ventimiglia attended the college graduation of his on-screen son Niles Fitch in ‘This Is Us’.
The 46-year-old actor played Jack Pearson on the NBC drama and he and his teen daughter on the show Kate Pearson, actress Hannah Zeile, 26, reunited at the University of Southern California on Tuesday (21.06.24) to witness the milestone moment for 22-year-old Niles.
Hannah took to her Instagram Story to share a photograph of Milo and herself with Niles at the graduation and simply said “congratulations”.
The only person missing was their on-screen mom, Rebecca Pearson, played by Mandy Moore.
However, the 40-year-old star sent her congratulations on Instagram, and gushed that she is a “proud fake mom”.
Underneath his snap in his cap and gown, she commented: “Go Niles! Unbelievable. #proudfakemom. Dad, I did it.”
The entire cast of the heartwarming programme – which ran from 2016 to 2022 – were extremely close, and Mandy previously admitted she will “never, ever” have a working relationship like the one she had with Milo again.
She told Variety: “It was effortless from the beginning, and it was effortless through the end. I acknowledge that I will never, ever have an on-screen partner like Milo again. It’s so rare to connect with someone on that level. In every way, this job was once in a lifetime.”
During their final scenes in the show, Milo smuggled tissues onto set to blot his co-star’s tears, and the pair had to use breaks in filming to move props around to hide the signs of Mandy’s emotion.
She said: “Sweet Milo had a tissue ball underneath the pillow for me.
“Each take, Milo would very gingerly help me flip the pillow over, so you didn’t see the tear stains. We were just trying to configure the pillow every take to make sure you couldn’t see where Mandy had been crying!
“He’d hand me my little wad of tissues to sop up the tears. It was so indicative of our relationship and the way we always supported each other and had each other’s back. ”
The Emmy-winning series followed two families in different timeframes.
Chrissy Metz, 43, who played grownup Kate alongside Justin Hartley, 47, as brother Kevin Pearson – the biological son of Jack and Rebecca – admitted last year she still misses being on the show.
She told People: “I miss ‘This Is Us’ desperately. And not only was it life-changing for me, but the best people, the way that it touched people’s lives and hearts and minds, it was really, really special.”

Daniel Radcliffe has never felt ‘trapped’ in acting like a lot of former child stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe says he’s fortunate to still enjoy acting, despite being a former child star.
Although the now 34-year-old actor got his big breakthrough playing the titular role in ‘Harry Potter’ when he was 11 in 2000’s ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, he had already appeared in the BBC adaptation of ‘David Copperfield’ as a young Copperfield in 1999.
And despite other young actors’ love for the field waning, the same can’t be said for the theatre and screen star.
He told The New York Post’s Page Six column: “There’s a lot of people who started young, then find themselves in a position [where] they don’t actually like the job very much; they feel trapped in it. From quite young I was like, ‘This is what I want to do.’”
Daniel is an established stage star and is up for his first Tony for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical award for ‘Merrily We Roll Along’.
And he was equally as excited when he played the legendary wizard in the money-spinning wizarding franchise as he was when he first took to the stage in ‘Equus’ in 2007.
He said: “I loved when I was ‘Potter,’ I loved it when I started doing stage, I loved it.”
Whilst he loves his profession, the fame side of things can be hard to deal with.
However, Daniel credits his partner Erin Darke – with whom he has a 12-month-old son – for helping him establish “boundaries” with fans, including not having to be “nice” in the face of people being “weird”.
He told The Atlantic: “I have learned so much from her about my own boundaries.
“Very occasionally, people will come up to me in the street and be very weird or rude or something like that. And she has given me a sense over the years of: You don’t have to just be nice to everyone when they’re weird with you. She’s given me some sense of my own autonomy, I guess.”
The couple met on the set of ‘Kill Your Darlings’ in 2012.
