Riley Keough wants Lisa Marie Presley’s memoir to be ‘accurate and compassionate’

OHMYGOSSIP — Riley Keough is keen to make Lisa Marie Presley’s memoir “both accurate and compassionate”.
The ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ actress has been going through her late mother’s old tapes and notebooks in an attempt to complete the autobiography the singer-and-actress had been working on when she passed away in 2023, and she know it is a “difficult” task to get her beloved mom’s legacy exactly right.
A source told the New York Post newspaper’s PageSix column: “There are hundreds of hours of Lisa’s thoughts and dreams. And Riley has to frame the book in a way that is both accurate and compassionate.
“Riley is a super busy actress, producer and mom, and she’s not only had to listen to her mom’s thoughts, but has to decide how to package that into this book … It’s a Herculean effort. She’s going to have a lot of input on how people perceive Lisa’s legacy forever. That’s how difficult this is.”
It is believed the release of the currently-untitled book on 15 October will be marked with a celebration at Graceland, the family’s estate where Lisa – who died from complications connected to bariatric surgery years before her passing – was laid to rest alongside her father Elvis Presley and son Benjamin Keough.
Riley previously admitted she was “so excited” to be helping to finish her mother’s autobiography.
She said in a statement released by publisher Random House in January: “Few people had the opportunity to know who my mom really was, other than being Elvis’ daughter.
“I was lucky to have had that opportunity and working on preparing her autobiography for publication has been a privilege, albeit a bittersweet one.
“I’m so excited to share my mom now, at her most vulnerable and most honest, and in doing so, I do hope that readers come to love my mom as much as I did.”
An announcement from Random House about the project added: “Riley knew that it was time for Lisa Marie’s voice to be heard.
“She listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs at Graceland, just the two of them, a sanctuary from the chaos of her life.
“About Lisa Marie’s complicated relationship with her mother Priscilla. About growing up with the clicking cameras perpetually at the door. About her own wild love stories, and her marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage.
“About motherhood and the shattering loss of her son, Riley’s brother Benjamin Keough, to suicide.”

Christie Brinkley was warned career would be over when she hit 30

OHMYGOSSIP — Christie Brinkley was warned she’d be “chewed up and spit out” by the modelling industry before she was 30.
The supermodel turned 70 in February and her career is still going strong, but she admitted she used to dread getting older as she feared it would lead the the end on work coming in for her.
She told People magazine: “They told me by the time you’re 30, you’ll be chewed up and spit out of this business. But 50 isn’t 50 anymore. Thirty isn’t 30 anymore.”
Though Christie “dreaded” turning 70, she’s enjoying the new decade so far.
She said: “It’s the start of a great decade. I’m hearing from women on my Instagram, like, ‘Now I’m looking forward to my 7-0. I was kind of dreading it, but you’re making it look so fun. And it is really important to make it fun and so far so great.”
Christie covered Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue this month, and while the photoshoot was “crazy”, she thought it was “really fantastic” for the publication to highlight older models such as herself and 82-year-old lifestyle guru Martha Stewart.
She said: “I think it’s really, really fantastic that Sports Illustrated not only has me, but Martha, who looks so great.
“She has the distinction of being the oldest cover model on Sports Illustrated. I sat right behind Martha and I can vouch that her skin is perfection!”
The veteran catwalk star praised firms who work with older women because ageing isn’t what it used to be and female should keep “getting out there and keep shining”.
She added: “There’s so many women that are taking on new jobs that they always wanted to do, but they had that job before that they needed to do, and now they’re doing passion projects.
“That’s really exciting. So many women are getting out there and changing the ideas of what these numbers represent. Women at 70 want to see women like me and that’s okay!”

Ryan Reynolds shares favourite piece of parenting advice

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds thinks it is important for his kids to know he “loses”.
The 47-year-old actor – who has James, nine, Ines, seven, Betty, four, and a 15-month-old baby whose name and sex haven’t been disclosed with wife Blake Lively – will never forget the parenting advice he was given from ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ director Shawn Levy, who urged him not to let his children only see his victories.
He told co-star Hugh Jackman in conversation for People magazine: “Shawn Levy actually told me something that stuck with me forever, that people tend to only talk about their wins. But I think it’s really important for your kids in particular to know that you lose.
“You don’t get what you want all the time. Something you worked on really hard didn’t work. You feel like you said something embarrassing today, you did something that didn’t sit right with you. It’s just so important that [your kids] see that and they don’t just hear, ‘Oh Dad nailed it.’ Because you lose so much more than you win.
“It’s really stuck with me.”
The ‘Free Guy’ actor also spoke to his pal about how he’s found battling anxiety helpful when it comes to being a parent and relating to his children.
He said: “Now I love that I have anxiety, I love that I’ve had anxiety. Because when I see my kids experiencing some of that, which is probably genetic, I know how to address it in a way that is compassionate, that actually allows them to feel seen. I know that I can’t just fix it. And I can communicate all that stuff to them and with them. I’m always grateful for it.”
Ryan’s experience of anxiety has also helped him in his professional life.
The actor said: “My job benefits greatly. People who have anxiety are constantly thinking into the future. You’re constantly: ‘What if this happens? What if that happens?’ You’re always telling yourself stories.
“So when we’re shooting ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, I’m not just shooting the movie, I’m also sitting in the audience as a cautious critic going: ‘I don’t like that. I don’t buy that.’ So anxiety creates that ecosystem of awareness that I wouldn’t otherwise [have].”

Rebel Wilson’s fiancee’s parents weren’t accepting of their relationship

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebel Wilson’s fiancee’s father won’t speak to her because of their same-sex relationship.
The ‘Bridesmaids’ actress revealed she was dating Ramona Agruma in a June 2022 Instagram post, with the pair getting engaged months later, and while the Australian star feels “lucky” that her family were accepting of their union, the clothing designer hasn’t had such a comfortable ride.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Desert Island Discs’ programme, Rebel said: “I’m lucky in my case, even though I come from a very conservative background, it went very, very well … My grandparents, who are in their 90s, just so chilled and cool with it.
“Ramona’s family, not as much. Her mum has luckily come around now, her father still doesn’t talk to her, but we’re hoping that will change.”
The 44-year-old actress had been in the process of using a surrogate to have a child when she first met Ramona, and was thankful her partner was quickly accepting of her family plans.
She said: “I’d already been planning to use a surrogate to have a child and I’d done several rounds of IVF and I had one embryo transfer, which sadly didn’t work.
“Almost right at meeting Ramona, I was planning on the second embryo transfer and I was like, ‘Babe I don’t know how to tell you this, but I’m going to have a child kind of around November.’
“Ramona just looked at me and said, ‘Well, I love you and if you have a child, I’m going to love your child exactly the same way.’”
Before undergoing fertility treatment, Rebel lost weight following advice from a specialist, but she admitted not everyone was supportive and she was warned she could “ruin” her career.
She said: “Obviously, my team thought I’ve created this amazing pigeonhole for myself playing the fat funny girl, and I was earning millions of dollars per movie, so why would you want to change?… So, I made the choice thinking, ‘well, it could ruin my career’. But I made that choice anyway to try to have a family and not develop any serious diseases.”

Prince William pays tribute to late Rob Burrow

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has paid tribute to the late Rob Burrow.
The former rugby star passed away on Sunday (02.06.24) following a long battle with motor neurone disease (MND), and the Prince of Wales has issued a personal message of condolence to the sportsman’s wife Lindsey and their three children on behalf of himself and wife Catherine, Princess of Wales.
William wrote on the couple’s Instagram Story: “A legend of rugby league, Rob Burrow had a huge heart.
“He taught us, ‘in a world full of adversity, we must dare to dream.’
“Catherine and I send our love to Lindsey, Jackson, Maya and Macy.”
The message was signed with the initial ‘W’, as is typical of personal messages from the prince.
The news of Rob’s passing was announced by his former club Leeds Rhinos.
They said in a statement: “It is with deep sadness that the club can confirm that former player Rob Burrow CBE has passed away, aged 41. Rob inspired the entire country with his brave battle against motor neurone disease since his diagnosis.
“He passed away peacefully at Pinderfields Hospital near his home surrounded by his loving family after becoming ill earlier this week. On behalf of the Burrow family, we would like to thank the staff for their compassion and caring for Rob in his final days.”
The Burrow family added in a separate statement “The outpouring of love and support that Rob and the whole Burrow family have received over the last four and a half years meant so much to Rob. In particular, the rugby league family and the MND community have rallied around Rob to inspire him, thank you for your support.
“For those who knew Rob throughout his life, his determination and spirit in the face of MND over the last four and a half years came as no surprise. Rob never accepted that he couldn’t do something, he just found his own way of doing it better than anyone else. He will continue to inspire us all every day. In a world full of adversity, we must dare to dream.”
Rob, who won every domestic honour available during his playing career with Leeds Rhinos and was capped by both England and Great Britain, was diagnosed with the degenerative condition MND in 2019 and he and his loved ones, including former teammate Kevin Sinfield worked tirelessly to raise awareness and millions of pounds in fundraising to help those affected by the disease.
He received an MBE in 2021 for services to rugby league and the motor neurone disease community, and was promoted to CBE in the 2024 New Year Honours list for services to motor neurone disease awareness.

Aubrey O’Day doesn’t feel ‘vindicated’ by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs allegations

OHMYGOSSIP — Aubrey O’Day doesn’t “feel vindicated at all” by the allegations surrounding Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
The 40-year-old singer – who signed to the rap mogul’s Bad Boy Records as part of Danity Cane in 2005 – has previously claimed the ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ hitmaker asked her to sign an NDA to never disparage him or his record label, a “deal” she encouraged her bandmates not to take, and she’s now spoken out following a wave of sexual abuse and sex trafficking allegations made against the 54-year-old star.
She told People magazine: “There’s no vindication when you’re a victim of someone. … Anyone being exposed, or any truths being told, don’t change the reality of what you experienced.
“It’s a forever thing that you have to wake up every day and choose to evolve past. It doesn’t go away.
“It’s like childhood trauma. We don’t like to think it just disappears in our thirties, but really we start realising how bad it really is in our thirties.”
Aubrey – who was removed from Danity Cane alongside Wanita ‘D. Woods’ Woodgett due to tensions with Diddy in 2008 – called for more to be done to give women in music “a safe space” where they can work without fear.
She added: “Justice is so much bigger than one man.
“A bigger lane needs to be opened for the discussion beyond the abusers, which is how to create a safe space for music artists to evolve, be credited properly, be paid properly, and to not ever feel in fear or in obligation to anyone that has power over them and their dreams.
“I don’t know what he’s feeling. I just know what all of the victims felt, and I can see a clear path and direction for this industry to go in that could create a safe space for artists, and I’m going to fight like hell to see it in my lifetime.”

‘Borderline homophobic hate’: Emily Carey recalls House of the Dragon backlash from trolls

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Carey received a “huge amount” of “borderline homophobic hate” over her role in ‘House of the Dragon’.
The 21-year-old actress played the young Alicent Hightower in the first season of the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel and she faced a backlash from fans who accused her of trying to “force [her] lesbianism” on her alter ego when she and co-star Milly Alcock, who played the teenage Rhaenyra Targaryen, spoke about the “romantic subtext” between their alter egos.
Emily told Independent.co.uk: “As a queer person, I received a huge amount of borderline homophobic hate on the internet.
“I had a lot of comments that I’d forced my lesbianism on these characters, which is just absurd, in my opinion. All we said was that if you wanted to see this potential spark between them, you could.
“I mean, it wasn’t something we were ever consciously playing. It wasn’t something where we thought, ‘Hey, let’s throw this in. This will be fun.’
“It was just something that we spoke about, as we felt this sort of palpable tension between the two characters.
“Alicent and Rhaenyra are 14, they’re in this world that, by the way, isn’t even real, it is all very made-up… and they don’t know what this means. A lot of the characters struggle to contend with the idea of love because, especially Alicent, she’s married someone who she’s not necessarily in love with but she holds some love for him, and I think the word ‘love’ is very subjective within the world of the show.”
Emily found the trolling “a lot to take on” but she’s learned to shut out fan comments now.
She said: “I’m learning to only take on board what is going to benefit me in some way. I love hearing from the fans of the show, and hearing people’s opinions on the characters. But it taught me a lot, and while I’m very appreciative of the fans, and as much as I love them, I think I’ve stopped listening now.”
The actress appeared in five episodes of ‘House of the Dragon’ and hadn’t realised just how big a role she’d landed at first.
She recalled: “I did not realise how big the role was going to be until I was on set.
“I was like, ‘Whoa, OK, this is the next year of my life. This is crazy.’ And it was terrifying – and I’m so glad that I had Milly as my rock throughout.”

The actress has been dating Olympian Shaun White for four years now but it doesn’t seem that he was present at the scene of the accident.
Earlier this year, sources claimed that the ‘Love Hard’ star and her significant other were both “in love” and even thinking about getting married at some point in the near future.
A source told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Nina and Shaun are incredibly in love and in it for the long haul. They see a future together and are so grateful for each other.
“They share the same sense of humor and have so much in common. Things are just easy between them and they have the best time together. (sic)”
Shaun – who was initially meant to be going to Paris for the Olympic Games with Nina – created a bucket list before he announced his retirement, and the celebrity couple are now focused on fulfilling their dreams.
He said: “We went to Antarctica, Dubai, visited her mom in France, went to Monaco, went to Indonesia. We’ve kind of been all over.
Shaun shared: “I want to be around for Thanksgiving, I want to to be around for Christmas, I want to be around for people’s birthdays, holidays.
“It’s like those little things you kind of push aside when you’re completely focused on the task at hand, which was competing.”

The ‘Falling Awake’ actress added getting to experience a bigger family is “really exciting” after growing up as an only child.
Even though Jenna stressed she feels “great overall” as she gets ready for her third baby, she admitted she has been struggling with feeling “more tired”.
She added: “Third pregnancy while chasing two other kids around definitely makes you a little more tired.

“But overall, everything’s been going well. And it’s been wonderful. But I’m without a doubt a little bit more tired.”

Travis Kelce grilled on Taylor Swift marriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Kelce was grilled about plans to propose to Taylor Swift during an awkward moment at a charity event over the weekend (01-02.06.24).
The 34-year-old football star appeared at the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in Kansas City, Missouri – which raises money for the Children’s Mercy Hospital – alongside his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes and actor Paul Rudd and he appeared in a skit with actor/comedian Jason Sudeikis who pinned the sportsman down on whether he is going to tie the knot with his pop star girlfriend.
Sudeikis asked him: “Hey Travis, real talk OK, just the guys here. Hey, when are you going to make an honest woman out of her? Taylor doesn’t need to be working anymore.”
Travis smiled, rubbed his beard, and pointedly refused to answer the question.
It comes after New York Post column Page Six reported Travis plans to pop the question this summer on the first anniversary in July.
An insider told the publication: “They don’t want it to seem like it’s rushed insanity … Taylor and Travis discussed it and there is a plan … They will get engaged on their one-year anniversary in July.”
The couple are believed to have got together in July 2023 and Taylor went on to make her first public appearance supporting Travis at one of his football games in September.
Taylor previously admitted the pair enjoyed plenty of time together at the start of their romance before going public. She revealed they started hanging out after the sportsman mentioned her on his ‘New Heights’ podcast.
She told Time magazine: “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
Taylor added of their first public outing together: “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game?. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there, and we don’t care.
“The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

Sky Ferreira feared she was possessed by a demon

OHMYGOSSIP — Sky Ferreira thought she was possessed by a demon because she used to sleepwalk as a child.
The 31-year-old pop star has revealed she would regularly get out of bed while she was sleeping and didn’t think anything of it until she saw the movie ‘The Exorcist’ and became convinced a demon was behind her unconscious nighttime adventures.
She told the Guardian newspaper: “I saw ‘The Exorcist’ when I was seven, when I was with my cousin at a friend’s house. I used to sleepwalk as a kid and the film horrified me.
“In my mind, I was like, ‘Is that what sleepwalking is? You’re possessed?'”
Sky went on to reveal she still struggles to watch any movie which features stories of demonic possession.
She added: “I still have a hard time watching movies where someone’s possessed. To this day I haven’t watched ‘The Exorcist’ in full, even though I’ve watched clips and it’s obviously not very scary. It’s a bit funny, honestly. But I still can’t do it.”
In the interview, Sky revealed she also still has trouble sleeping despite growing out of sleepwalking. She explained: “I actually don’t sleep very much.
“Sleeping has always been very difficult for me. I have to have sound on but it can’t be music because then I’ll just start thinking and hearing everything in music terms.
“So I usually play podcasts or audiobooks; a lot of autobiographies or old radio shows, or Orson Welles or something. I was falling asleep for a long time to a Lauren Bacall book because I like the sound of her voice. There’s something hypnotic about it.”
It comes after Sky opened up about her long-delayed second album ‘Masochism’ which has yet to come out a decade after she released her debut ‘Night Time, My Time’ in 2013.
She told the Sydney Morning Herald: “Yeah, it definitely did not play out the way I planned on it. But I guess that’s life, right? It’s the big thing looming over me in my life.
“Hopefully it’ll be worth it when it comes, or else whatever, I’ll just have to make another album after that. I’ll probably churn out seven of them.”

‘It would be very unhealthy for me’: Riley Keough won’t bring private grief into her work

OHMYGOSSIP — Riley Keough thinks it would be “unhealthy” to channel her own grief in her work.
The ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ star’s sibling Benjamin took his own life in 2020 and last year, her mother Lisa Marie Presley passed away due to complications from surgery, and although the 35-year-old actress plays a woman who lost her brother when they were teenagers in her new series ‘Under the Bridge’, she wanted to keep her own emotions away from the project.
Asked if her brother’s death in particular had affected her acting method during ‘An Evening with Joey King and Riley Keough’ in Los Angeles over the weekend, she said: “I don’t typically use my own life in my acting career because I think I would be insane.
“I think it would be very unhealthy for me personally.”
The ‘Zola’ star explained it can be particularly difficult reliving emotions through work as actors often have to film the same scene multiple times, and so she would rather focus on the “headspace of the character” than her own personal feelings.
She added: “I really try and protect myself — it’s a hard job because you’re going to work and having to be extremely vulnerable and raw.”
Riley recently recalled how she felt like she was “losing [her] mind” while making ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ because it was where she met her husband, stunt performer Ben Smith-Peterson.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s ‘The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham’, Riley – who has 21-month-old daughter Tupelo with her spouse – said: “I’m sure you’ve read all the stuff about it, but it was like, I don’t remember feeling like I was filming a movie ever.
“I remember being like, ‘I live in this world and I’m totally losing my mind. That was my experience, but it was one of the most beautiful and challenging and amazing, incredible experiences of my life, and all of us who were there, it was so life-changing and, of course, I met my husband, so it was like extra life-changing.”

Kate Hudson’s music career healed family rift

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Hudson’s singing career has helped heal the rift with her estranged father and her siblings.
The 44-year-old actress’ parents are Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, but they split a year after she was born and she grew up with her mother’s partner Kurt Russell as her father figure in a blended family with her brother Oliver Hudson and Kurt’s son Wyatt Russell. However, Kate also has three more half-siblings – Lalania, Zach, and Emily Hudson – from her biological dad Bill’s other relationships, but they have been estranged over the years until they recently got back in touch.
She has now revealed recording her first album – ‘Glorious’ – has helped bring her closer to musician Bill and the other side of the family. She told Variety: “I think that music brings up something else for me – it’s my connection to my father, the connection to the Hudson side of my life.
“It’s a very different side of me that is very connected to a very personal story, which is that relationship or lack of relationship that I’ve had with my father.
“So that’s also very interesting when it comes to music, because I’ve always felt very alone in my life, musically, because I wasn’t connected to the Hudsons.”
She added: “And now that I’m more connected to the Hudson side of my family, it really makes sense where it comes from. It’s actually pretty wild, you know?
“So not only has the music been cathartic for me, but it’s also really reconnected me to my siblings and my father. It’s been pretty amazing.”
It comes after Kate opened up about the family’s issues during an episode of her podcast ‘Sibling Revelry with Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson’.
The actress explained: “I had this moment last year where I was like, ‘I don’t know why I don’t talk to my other siblings.’
“I don’t care what the history is with our parents, but – and especially me who has no sisters and I do. I have two sisters that I don’t speak to for no other reason than our family is separated.”
Kate went on to reveal she broke down in tears during a phone call with one of her sisters, saying: “My sister and I and my brother have all just started communicating again.
“And honestly, I got on the phone with my sister and we just started bawling our eyes out. It was so great. “[My sister] even said it. We start now. We start now.”
Kate added of her family: “I have a great family. I have a beautiful mother. I have a stepfather who stepped in and played a huge, huge part in sharing what it is to have a dependable father figure in our life, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that we didn’t know our dad.
“I think people sometimes just need to hear that they’re not alone.”

Khloe Kardashian has been injured for two months

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian has been nursing an injury for two months.
The 39-year-old reality star has been unable to exercise as hard as she’d like because of the mystery ailment, but she has been working her way back to full fitness “little by little” and hopes to be fully recovered in “a few more weeks”.
Khloe took to Instagram over the weekend to share a video of herself enjoying a session with personal trainer Don Brooks, which she captioned: “I hurt myself and couldn’t workout the way I wanted to for almost 2 months. Working my way back little by little
“A few more weeks and I’ll be there.
“Then- I have to stay ready so I don’t need to get ready (sic)”
Khloe recently revealed she works out five days a week, typically opting for “cardiovascular intervals with weightlifting”.
And after discussing how she’d overcome her problems with “emotional eating”, she feels happier than ever with her body.
Speaking on the ‘SheMD’ podcast, she said: “I love it. If I’m getting ready for a shoot, I’ll do Pilates and my workouts.
“But now that I’m in a good place, body-wise, that I like, I do sort of eat what I want, but because my brain is so trained, you don’t even want half of the c*** or junk.
“Something like pizza is my weakness. But now that I am in this different state of my mind, I’m never going to eat a full pizza. It’s retraining your brain. If your brain isn’t trained with your body, then you’re not doing anything. It doesn’t matter.”
The ‘Kardashians’ star – who has True, six, and 21-month-old Tatum with former boyfriend Tristan Thompson – admitted it took “years” for her to be happy iwth her weight.
She said: “I used to be overweight a lot of my life.
“God, I mean my weight-loss journey. It took years for me.
“I’ve always been chubby — like athletic. I’ve always played sports. I just was never in shape.”
