OHMYGOSSIP — A sex trafficking and sexual misconduct lawsuit filed against former WWE boss Vince McMahon by an employee has been put on hold.
Janel Grant, a former employee at WWE headquarters, agreed to temporarily pause her lawsuit against McMahon, 78, WWE and John Laurinaitis, 61, the company’s former head of talent relations, at the request of the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York to allow for a federal probe.
Her attorney said in a statement: “Ms Grant has consented to a request by the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York to stay her case against Mr McMahon, WWE and Mr Laurinaitis, pursuant to a pending non-public investigation.
“We will cooperate with all appropriate next steps.”
Janel alleged in court documents filed in Connecticut on 25 January McMahon pushed her into a “physical relationship” in return for “long-promised employment” at WWE.
She said it involved a forced sexual relationship, sharing private photos and videos and allegedly coercing Janel into having sexual relations with other WWE staffers, including Laurinaitis.
Her lawsuit stated: “McMahon also subjected Grant to acts of extreme cruelty and degradation that caused Grant to disassociate and/or become numb to reality in order to survive the horrific encounters.”
Janel’s lawsuit was almost immediately attacked by McMahon’s team after it was filed.
It contains other graphic descriptions of how she was allegedly violently raped repeatedly and abused in other ways by McMahon from 2019 to 2022.
Janel also says she was trafficked across state lines to other WWE executives and even to an unnamed “WWE Superstar” for sexual purposes.
She and McMahon agreed to a $3 million payout in 2022 to keep her allegations about McMahon from becoming public, which included a non-disclosure agreement.
She held up her end of the deal, according to her suit, but states McMahon has so far only paid her $1 million.
She is now seeking to have her NDA invalidated.
McMahon resigned as executive chairman and board member of TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE, the day after Janel’s lawsuit was filed.
But the wrestling company founder maintains his innocence.
The pause of Janel’s case could last “several months”, according to Deadline.
Before her lawsuit, McMahon was already under the microscope in a settled internal investigation two years ago by the then Endeavor-owned WWE for millions in hush money payments to various women.
The probe was closed, but in the summer of 2023 WWE admitted “related government investigations remain ongoing”.

The 53-year-old star weighs about 35 pounds more than she did at age 23 – but she still feels very proud of her body.
Padma told Us Weekly: “I love it. I wouldn’t go back to that body.”
The model also insisted that she’s happy to reveal her age to strangers.
Padma said: “I love saying I’m 53. And people are like, ‘Oh, you don’t look like you’re 53.’ And I’m like, ‘No. This is also what 53 looks like.’”

The TV star admitted that she’d love to replace Martha Stewart in the record books.
Padma told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six Style column: “I hope. I mean, listen, if I’m still doing covers like she is at 80 plus. I mean, God, more power to her. And she’s always been someone I’ve admired, so why should this be any different?”
Padma has posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. However, she never expected for it to happen so late in her career.

The 56-year-old singer recently raised eyebrows when she posted a topless photo of herself on social media, and Toni has now revealed why she decided to post the image.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, Toni explained: “I was feeling myself. I was feeling myself, so I thought I’d show it … I wanted people to know that 50s is still sexy and it’s OK and don’t be afraid to age.
“I felt some kind of way when I turned 50, but I’m OK. I’m alright about it.”
Toni has recently been focused on her Love and Laughter residency with Cedric the Entertainer.
The singer has confessed to loving her experience in Las Vegas.

The 25-year-old star is the daughter of fellow rapper Lil Wayne from his previous relationship with Toya Johnson and after carving out a career in music herself, she has admitted that she is very “nonchalant” when it comes to fame.
She told People: “My dad is super private, so I feel like even when the media gets him or puts him on blast, he pays dust to it. My dad is very nonchalant when it comes to that, so I’ve learned to kind of move like him.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith was “mind-blown” to have his adult children with him on the red carpet.
The 55-year-old actor was supported by his estranged wife Jada, 52, and their children Willow, 23, and Jaden, 25, as well as on Trey, 31, – who he has with Sheree Zampino – at the launch of his new ‘Bad Boys:Ride Or Die’ film and found it surreal because the last time and his co-star Martin Lawrence teamed up together, their kids were babies.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “It was beautiful seeing our kids together. We had newborns around the time of the first ‘Bad Boys’. So to have them here in their near-30s is like [mind-blowing].”
Martin has Jasmine, 28, and 23-year-old Iyanna with his ex-wife Patricia Southall as well as 21-year-old Amara with his second wife Shamicka Gibbs and noted that the support of their respective families was only down to love.

The 72-year-old actor has been married to ‘Real Housewives’ star Lisa Rinna , 60, since 1997 and explained that communication as well as being physically intimate has made sure they are still wedded to this day.

The 54-year-old pop superstar had been due to commence her ‘This Is Me…Live’ tour in June and play a string of dates over the summer but she has now expressed her “heartsick” at having to pull the plug on the whole thing as she insisted that it was an “absolutely necessary” move.
In a Live Nation newsletter, she said: “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”
The ‘Jenny From The Block’ singer – who has been married to Hollywood star Ben Affleck since 2022 but has twins Max and Emme, 16, with ex-husband Marc Anthony – did not go into absolute details about the reason for her cancellation for the tour but promised her fans that she will “make it up” to them at some point in the future.

The 43-year-old actress has daughters Lincoln, 11, and eight-year-od Delta with ‘Armchair Expert’ host Dax Shepard and admitted that she wasn’t originally keen on them following in her footsteps until her husband made her look at the idea in a different way.
She told People: “You know it’s interesting, when I first thought about it, I thought, ‘Oh, I don’t want them to be actors. There’s too much rejection. Then my husband said, ‘Wait, do you like your life? Do you have fun? Are you overpaid? Do you get to be creative every day?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Why would you not want that for your kids?”

She said: “We were in tech on September 11th and we were below 14th Street. So we had an extreme experience together where we kind of had to cradle each other. And this was the cast and crew, the people of my life that encouraged me to move to Los Angeles.
“And looking back, if I hadn’t have had them… I never would’ve met my husband, which means I never would’ve had my kids. I never would’ve really touched any of the projects I touched out here. So I attribute so much of my life to this cast and crew and this loving environment that I experienced in New York.”

The 49-year-old actress was initially married to Blink-182 rocker Travis, 48, and has Landon, 20, and 18-year-old Alabama with him but insisted that they want to always do things in the “best interests” of their kids, especially now he has Rocky, six months, with reality star Kourtney.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton thinks it was “very bold” of Beyonce to cover ‘Jolene’.
The 78-year-old country music legend first released the classic track as part of her 13th studio album of the same name in 1974 and while it has been covered numerous times over the years, she was surprised when ‘Break My Soul’ singer Beyonce, 42, wanted to put her own spin on it for her ‘Cowboy Carter’ record.
She told E! News: “Well, I think it was very bold of her. When they said she was gonna do ‘Jolene,’ I expected it to be my regular one, but it wasn’t. But I love what she did to it. And as a songwriter, you love the fact that people do your songs no matter how they do them.”
Beyonce changed some of the lyrics of the original song – which is traditionally sung from the point of view of a desperate married woman trying to beg a beautiful girl to stay away from her husband – and Dolly noted that she was “very proud” of how the ‘Crazy in Love’ hitmaker had made a stark switch from her usual RnB genre for the record.
Dolly said: “She wasn’t gonna go beg some other woman like I did. Don’t steal my man.’ ‘S***, get out here, b****. You ain’t stealin’ mine!’
“I was very proud of her album.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright might “date other people” to save their marriage.
The 44-year-old star split from his wife earlier this year, and he has now explained that they are trying to “exhaust” all other options before going down the path of divorce, including seeing other people.
Speaking on the ‘When Reality Hits’ podcast, he said: “I am not — I repeat not — dating anybody. I was seen out with someone and it was strictly lunch. Obviously, Brittany and I are separated and have been for a long time. What we are going through right now is tough. Marriage is not easy.
“We are trying to figure out a lot of different things: therapy, separation, and maybe, possibly, dating other people.
“We are trying to exhaust everything before we have to go down the divorce road — if that would be the case.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Glen Powell’s dog escaped on a plane.
The 35-year-old actor is the proud owner of mixed-breed canine Brisket but explained that recently he took his furry friend on a plane in his carrier basket only for him to jump out and disappear mid-flight.
He told People: “Recently, I fell asleep on a plane. I’ve been traveling a lot. So I was passing out, but Brisket does not like when I shut his carrier under the seat, so I’ll usually let his little head pop out, or just kind of be in my lap.
“He got out of the carrier, and I woke up, and Brisket was gone!
However, all was well when the ‘Anyone But You’ star realised that Brisket had made it to the back of the aircraft, where he found that his four-legged friend was being “snuggled” by a group of children and other passengers.
He added: “The whole plane was just snuggling Brisket in the back, and they were loving on him. There were kids playing with him ”
The ‘Hit Man’ star adopted Brisket just under a year ago and joked at the time with a revelation post on Instagram that he had decided to “hire a proper bodyguard” as he thanked the shelter where he first met Britsket for all of the “incredible work” that they do.

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Obama has been left “heartbroken” following the death of her mother.
The former, First Lady of the United States – who is married to former President Barack Obama and has Malia, 25, and 22-year-old Sasha with him – announced on Friday (31.05.24) evening that Marian Robinson had died at the age of 86.
She wrote on X: “My mom Marian Robinson was my rock, always there for whatever I needed. She was the same steady backstop for our entire family, and we are heartbroken to share she passed away today. We wanted to offer some reflections on her remarkable life.”
Marian- who was married to husband Frasier Robinson until his death in 1991 at the age of 55 – also had son Craig, 62, and had spent most of her life in her hometown of Chicago as a stay-at-home mother but agreed to come to Washington after her son-in-law was elected as President in 2008.
In a statement, the Obamas noted that “countless lives” had benefitted from Marian’s presence but are taking comfort in the notion that she will be reunited with her late husband in the afterlife.
The statement read: “And as a sister, aunt, cousin, neighbour, and friend to so many, she was beloved beyond words by countless others whose lives were improved by her presence.
“We will all miss her greatly, and we wish she were here to offer us some perspective, to mend our heavy hearts with a laugh and a dose of her wisdom.
“Yet we are comforted by the understanding that she has returned to the embrace of her loving Fraser, that she’s pulled up her TV tray next to his recliner, that they’re clinking their highball glasses as she’s catching him up with the stories about this wild, beautiful ride. She’s missed him so.

The 25-year-old actress is the daughter of Hollywood stars Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman and admitted that there are “so many people” in the world who do not get to embark on the sort of career she has done because they do not have industry connections.
She told The Saturday Times: “Deserves…’ is a complicated word. There are so many people who deserve to have this kind of life who don’t, but I think I’m comfortable with not deserving it and doing it anyway. And I know that my not doing it wouldn’t help anyone. I saw two paths when I was first starting, and one of them was: change your name, get a nose job and go to open casting roles.”
