OHMYGOSSIP — Sofia Vergara thinks she was “unprofessional” to take a break from shooting ‘Griselda’ to film ‘America’s Got Talent’.
The 51-year-old actress admitted it was “absurd” for her to halt work on the gritty Netflix drama series – in which she played drugs boss Griselda Blanco – to fulfil her commitments to the talent show because she found it hard to get back into character afterwards.
Speaking during Netflix FYSEE’s ‘A Conversation with Sofia Vergara’ event in Los Angeles over the weekend, The US Sun reports she said: “I don’t know what I was thinking. The most absurd thing. But I mean that tells you … if I was a real actress, I would have said absolutely not, I’m not doing this.
“Listen to how crazy this is… I agreed to become Griselda for three months, like three crazy, intense months.
“I think I had four days off to become Sofia, do ‘AGT’, which is completely another move to do ‘AGT’, that energy. And then finish that for a month and immediately, two days later, start again [filming] ‘Griselda’.
“When I went back, I was like so unprofessional.
“I went back to ‘Griselda’ [and] the director [during] the first scene, I remember we were shooting outside an airport, and then [he] comes after the first two scenes like, ‘Sofia, I think, uh, during lunch I’m going to go into your trailer with my iPad and I’m going to show you the rhythm and the tone of voice that you were doing for Griselda because you’re sounding like ‘AGT’.’
“I’m like okay, okay. It took me some time. I shouldn’t have done that. I should have not stopped shooting ‘Griselda’ to do ‘AGT’.”
The ‘Modern Family’ actress had wanted to work on the project for many years but didn’t think it was right to do so while the cartel head – who was shot dead in 2012 aged 69 – was still alive.
She explained: “I started working, finding out more information about her, hiring writers, investigating, but she was still alive.
“She was released from jail and she was living in Medellin [Colombia]. And I’m like, I can’t do that project right now with this woman that was a monster, destroyed lives, her family’s life, her kid’s life, and I’m gonna make a movie and now she’s out of jail.”
She quipped: “So I had to wait for her to die.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cyndi Lauper wishes she had been friends with Madonna in the 80s.
The ‘Time After Time’ hitmaker lamented that it was a shame that she and ‘Material Girl’ singer Madonna – who both debuted their first albums in 1983 – were made into each other’s competition when they were starting out and couldn’t be pals during their rise to superstardom.
The 70-year-old legend told the New York Times newspaper: “It was a shame. I would have liked to have a friend.”
She also quipped: “It was like apples and oranges,” in reference to people being made to ‘chose’ one.
Cyndi also reflected on her most well-known song ‘Girls Just To Have Fun’ – which was written by Robert Hazard – and how she worked to make the video “inclusive” so it was reflective of the scene was operating in.
She told the paper: “That video was what you call ‘inclusive. I was sick of the segregation” of the music industry. It’s people together that create a style.”
The ‘True Colours’ singer explained how she first began channeling other artists like Janis Joplin.
Cyndi said: “I was stuck inside her body, and she didn’t like it, and I didn’t like it.”
Cyndi – who has created the LGBT homeless charity The True Colours United and the abortion campaign Girls Just Want to Have Fundamental Rights – admitted that her being vocal about the injustice of the AIDS crisis caused her to lose “business” but felt it was important to speak out for the people she loved.
She said: “I know that I probably lost business because I talked about AIDS a lot. I ought to stand up like any good Italian and stick up for my family, you know?”

The 38-year-old actress tied the knot with Miranda, 36, in 2020 after five years of dating and now her wife has opened up about how they “lean on each other” throughout the ups and the downs.

The former ‘Married With Children’ star – who was diagnosed with the neurological condition in 2021 – confessed that she is currently in a really “fatalastic, f*** it” headspace with her mental health after coming to terms with living the symptoms like mobility issues, fatigue and bowel control.
The 52-year-old actress told her friend and actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler on their podcast ‘MeSsy’: “I’m in a depression right now, which I don’t think I’ve felt that for years. Like a real, f**** it all depression where it’s kind of scaring me a little bit because it feels really fatalistic.
“I’m trapped in like this darkness right now that I haven’t felt like… I don’t even know how long, probably 20 something years.”
Christina also mentioned her surprise presenting stint at this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards with pal Anthony Anderson, 53, as support.
The former ‘Dead To Me’ actress told her 43-year-old pal – who also has MS – that the gig was part of “the hardest day of [her] life” and that she slept for “two days” after.
While being frank about her condition, Christina said: “This is being really honest…I don’t enjoy living. I don’t enjoy it. I don’t enjoy things anymore.”
Jamie-Lynn – who is best known for playing Tony Soprano’s daughter Meadow on the legendary HBO series ‘The Sopranos’ – admitted that she knew how “hard” it can be but found it easier to not live in the past.
She said: “It’s so hard to live in a disabled body. It is so hard. I will not take that away from you and I am right there with you. But what makes it harder is when you compare it to how it used to be…Once we get you to this place where we’re accepting that this is how it’s going to be, maybe forever…[coping with MS] is not a reason enough for you to stop living because I sit here across from you and you still make me laugh like nobody else can. You still make me smile. You make me feel loved.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Teigen tearfully pleaded for her husband John Legend to answer his phone as she was caught in a terrifying airplane take-off.
The model, 38, who has been married to the singer, 45, since 2013, documented her scare in a series of new Instagram Stories saying she was “bracing for impact” when the plane she was on went from “a thousand miles an hour” to “a complete stop”.
Her clips showed her tearing up, and she captioned them: “@johnlegend Please answer your phone. I’m on final destination.”
She added in the clips: “For like three seconds I was… absolutely positive that we were braking because we were going to hit something and we didn’t.”
Chrissy put the scare down to an “erroneous take-off”, but admitted she didn’t know exactly what that meant.
She paid tribute to airline staff during her videos, saying: “I am so grateful for these pilots and the plane for doing what it was supposed to do.”
Chrissy joked she grew “very religious all of the sudden” amid the fright.
The former ‘Lip Sync Battle’ host also told her followers she had almost been hit with her “worst nightmare” of sharing social media snippets from her flight before dying in an accident.
She went on: “All my last photos on Daily Mail would be, ‘She had beer cheese. That was her last meal.’

It was unclear where Chrissy was travelling.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mamie Laverock’s family is planning to take legal action against the hospital where it has emerged she nearly died in a plunge from a fifth-storey balcony.
The 19-year-old actress, famed for starring in the long-running US TV series ‘When Calls the Heart’, suffered a “medical emergency” earlier this month, according to a GoFundMe page aiming to raise money for her medical treatment, and her mother Nicole Rockmann has now opened up about how she feels her relatives now have a “negligence-type case” against St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada.
She added to The Los Angeles Times: “We have a case. All we care about is that Mamie can make a recovery and that she’s alive and that she’s fighting and that she’s strong.
“It’s unbelievable that she’s with us. There will be accountability.”
Nicole said it was an “absolute miracle” Mamie is alive and blamed the hospital for the fall – which she stressed was not “intended” and wasn’t a suicide attempt by the actress.
Mamie was transferred from St Paul’s to a trauma centre after her fall.
A spokesperson for Providence Health Care, which operates St Paul’s, confirmed to the LA Times an “incident happened” at the hospital but could not get into details due to patient privacy.
The representative added: “In cases related to patient safety, an internal critical incident review is conducted to determine exactly what happened and to make recommendations for improved patient safety.
“Our hearts go out to the patient, family, and all affected by this event, and we offer our best wishes for a full recovery.”
When Nicole spoke to the LA Times, she said her daughter had “just opened her eyes” and was “aware” enough to be able to squeeze her hand.
But she added the actress was in “tremendous” agony and she was being sedated after multiple surgeries.
Nicole has clarified Mamie’s fall came on 26 May as she was being “escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway”.
The Hallmark Channel actress then “sustained life threatening injuries” and was placed on life support.
Nicole told the LA Times she was now off a ventilator after her surgeries.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pioneering rapper Brother Marquis is being hailed as a “legend gone too soon” after his death aged 58.
The member of rap group 2 Live Crew passed away on Monday (03.06.24), according to the band’s social media accounts – which said he had gone to “the upper room”.
A post on its Instagram page announced: “Mark Ross AKA Brother Marquis of the 2 Live Crew has passed away.”
The group’s manager also confirmed the rapper’s death to TMZ and didn’t give any further details on the cause or manner.
But the outlet added: “Sources with direct knowledge say the death appears to be natural, and there isn’t foul play suspected.”
Brother Marquis’ death follows the 2017 death of one of 2 Live Crew’s co-founder, Fresh Kid Ice.
Fans filled 2 Live Crew’s social media pages with condolence messages including: “Dang, not Brother Marquis”, and “A legend gone too soon.”
Born Mark D Ross, Brother was featured on many of the group’s most iconic and controversial albums, including the hit 1989 LP ‘As Nasty As They Wanna Be’ – which was briefly ruled to be obscene and sparked the rappers’ arrests in 1990.
The entertainer was born in Rochester, New York, and moved to Los Angeles with his family as a teen.
He caught the eye of 2 Live Crew DJ Mr Mixx due to performances with his early group The Cautious Crew and his rap battle efforts.
Even though he missed out on being a founding member of 2 Live Crew, Brother Marquis was with the group on its groundbreaking 1986 debut album ‘The 2 Live Crew Is What We Are’.
A year after its release the record had peaked at No24 on the Billboard Top R and B / Hip-Hop Albums chart.
It is considered a seminal representation of the Miami bass hip-hop style, which featured drum machines and heavy bass as well as raunchy lyrics – which were banned from US radio.
The group’s controversial ‘As Nasty As They Wanna Be’ album climbed to No29 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and it was certified double platinum after selling at least two million copies.
One of its best known singles was ‘Me So Horny’, which infamously featured samples of the title line uttered by a Vietnamese prostitute trying to get cash from US soldiers in Stanley Kubrick’s classic Vietnam film ‘Full Metal Jacket’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Hollywood actress Janis Paige’s passing aged 101 has sparked a flood of tributes from fans who have been posting clips of her earliest work.
The Golden Age icon passed away on Sunday (02.06.24), with her death announced late on Monday (03.06.24) by her long-time friend Stuart Lamper – who said she died of natural causes at her home in Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Highlights of Janis’ six-decade career included performing with comedy legend Bob Hope in Vietnam.
Fans of the actress have spent the last day filling social media with images and clips of her classic roles, while hailing her as one of Hollywood’s “last great icons”.
Born Donna Mae Tjaden in Tacoma, Washington, on 16 September, 1922, Janis moved to LA with her sister after graduating from Stadium High School and was hired to sing at the Hollywood Canteen – a club established by movie studios on Cahuenga Boulevard to entertain troops during World War II.
She was put on contract by MGM and then Warner Bros., and in 1944 made her big-screen debut in Bathing Beauty, starring Esther Williams, Red Skelton and Basil Rathbone.
She also starred in her own network sitcom, playing a widowed nightclub singer struggling to raise her 10-year-old daughter on the CBS series ‘It’s Always Jan’.
In 1968, Paige replaced Angela Lansbury in ‘Mame’ on Broadway and performed as the title character for nearly two years.
She then returned to the cinema to star alongside Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse in 1957’s ‘Silk Stockings’.
Janis continued to perform well into her 80s, wiyth her other films including Doris Day comedy ‘Please Don’t Eat the Daisies’.
In 2018, she joined the #MeToo movement by alleging she was subjected to an assault aged 22 by the late department-store heir Alfred Bloomingdale, who died in 1982.
She said: “I could feel his hands, not only on my breasts, but seemingly everywhere. He was big and strong, and I began to fight, kick, bite and scream.
“At 95, time is not on my side, and neither is silence. I simply want to add my name and say, ‘Me too’.”
Janis and Bob Hope – who died aged 100 in 2003 – sung during the annual troops Christmas show in Saigon, Vietnam on Christmas Day in 1964.
In May 2003, the actress got back to the entertainment business after a long absence by opening a show she called ‘The Third Act’ at San Francisco’s Plush Room – which featured her recounting tales about her encounters with the likes of Bob, Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra and others.
Her last appearance on Broadway was in 1984’s ‘Alone Together’ and in 2020 she brought out her memoir ‘Reading Between the Lines: A Memoir’.
She married three times – first getting hitched in 1947 to San Francisco restaurateur Frank Martinelli, then in 1956 to Arthur Stander.
Her third husband was songwriter Ray Gilbert, who won an Oscar for his song ‘Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Da’ from Disney’s ‘Song of the South’, before he died in 1976, with Janis taking over the running of his music company.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly selling her Los Angeles mansion for nearly $30 million after her youngest child Moses graduated from high school.
The 51-year-old actress turned Goop founder – who recently spoke of her fears of having an empty nest – bought the 8,000-square-foot mansion for $9.95 million in 2012 while married to her now-ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, 47, with whom she has daughter Apple, 20, as well as her 18 year old son Moses.
Listing agent Lea Porter told the Wall Street Journal Gwyneth is now looking to downsize from the eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom home, built in 1950 and renovated in 2009, and is selling it for $29.9 million.
When Gwyneth married her second husband, TV writer and producer Brad Falchuk, 52, he moved into the pad with his two kids, Isabella and Brody, who he had from a previous marriage.
The home features a fireplace, bar, marble island in the kitchen and a wood-burning oven, as well as a plunge pool in the garden and a guesthouse with a temperature-controlled wine cellar, gym, game room, office and home cinema.
Gwyneth and Brad were at Moses’ graduation on Friday (31.05.24), along with her ex Chris, actress mother Blythe Danner, 81, and Apple.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin and his family are set to star in a new reality TV show about their “wild and crazy” life.
The Oscar nominee, 66, who has eight children, announced the project alongside his wife Hilaria Baldwin, 40, on Tuesday (04.06.24), with the couple saying they will appear in a TLC reality show called ‘The Baldwins’ with their seven kids.
Their news emerged as the actor prepares to go on trial for the fatal shooting on the set of his neo-Western film ‘Rust’.
They captioned a post about the show on Instagram: “Coming in 2025.”
The couple’s message showed them trying to wrestle their children Carmen, 10, Rafael, eight, Leonardo, seven, Romeo, six, Eduardo, three, María Lucía, also three, and Ilaria, 21 months, together for a family photo.
Alec added in a video clip: “We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy.
“Home is the place we love to be most.”
Hilaria stressed in the video they are “done having kids”.
Alec – who also has daughter Ireland, 28, with his 70-year-old actress ex-wife Kim Basinger – previously hinted his family would be making their reality TV debut in an episode of Kelly Ripa’s ‘Let’s Talk Off Camera’ podcast.
He said: “That reality show (possibility) has all been so we can stay home and just work from home.
“I’m desperate to try to work from New York.”
Kelly, 53, she would “so watch” the series and joked she thought the couple lived in a “complete f****** chaos machine” due to their seven kids.
Alec agreed and said he and Hilaria “don’t do a f****** thing anymore” as their kids have “taken over every aspect” of their lives.
The actor and Hilaria married in June 2012 and had their first child together the following year.
News of the couple’s reality show comes weeks after it was revealed Alec will go to trail for manslaughter over the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, after a judge denied a motion to dismiss the case.
Alec pleaded not guilty and the trial is set for July, and if convicted he faces up to 18 months in prison.
His attorneys said in a statement issued after the judge’s decision: “We look forward to our day in court.”
Mother-of-one Halyna, 42, was shot and killed on 21 October, 2021, while filming ‘Rust’ in New Mexico, after she was hit in the chest by a bullet fired from a prop firearm Alec was holding while rehearsing for a scene.

OHMYGOSSIP — Music producer The-Dream has been accused of raping, physically abusing and manipulating his former protégé Chanaaz Mangroe.
A new lawsuit obtained by Page Six on Tuesday (04.06.24) shows 33 year old Chanaaz – who performed as Channii Monroe – claims the 46-year-old musician, born Terius Youngdell Nash, trafficked her under the guise of a legitimate recording and distribution contract.
She says she was subjected to an “abusive, violent, and manipulative relationship” filled with “physical assaults, violent sexual encounters, and horrific psychological manipulation”.
Chanaaz was working on an international visa in the US from the Netherlands when she met The-Dream and claims she was 23 years old when associates of the singer reached out to her via social media in 2014.
After she sent samples of her work, she claims she was invited to join producer and his 50 year old partner Tricky Stewart, born Christopher Alan Stewart, in Atlanta.
Her suit states: “In both Atlanta and Los Angeles, Dream used his age and influence in the industry to manipulate the young artist into believing that she needed him to be successful, and roped her into his world through false promises to gain Ms Mangroe’s complete trust.”
Chanaaz adds Grammy-winner The-Dream vowed he would extend her working visa and “write blockbuster songs for her if she became part of his so-called ‘sanctuary,’ like he did for Beyoncé and Rihanna”.
She says he “controlled” all aspects of her life in the US and “forced” her to drink excessive amounts of alcohol by roughly pulling her head back by her hair and pouring it down her throat.
Her suit states The-Dream frequently strangled Ms Mangroe during violent sex.
The lawsuit also states the producer refused to wear protection during their alleged sexual encounters and that he raped her “in the back of a renovated sprinter van, the same evening that he forced her to engage in sex acts in a public movie theatre”.
Chanaaz’s suit includes screenshots of alleged texts from The-Dream, in which he asked to “undress” her emotionally so he can “know what’s underneath your heart”.
The-Dream has denied the allegations, and said in a statement to The New York Times: “These claims are untrue and defamatory. I oppose all forms of harassment and have always strived to help people realise their career goals.
“As someone committed to making a positive impact on my fellow artists and the world at large, I am deeply offended and saddened by these accusations.”
Chanaaz told Page Six: “Choosing to speak out about the trauma I survived has been one of the most difficult decisions of my life, but ultimately, what Dream did to me made it impossible to live the life I envisioned for myself and pursue my goals as a singer and songwriter.
“Ultimately, my silence has become too painful, and I realized that I need to tell my story to heal. I hope that doing so will also help others and prevent future horrific abuse.”
The performer’s attorneys, Douglas H Wigdor and Meredith Firetog, also told Page Six The-Dream’s alleged actions are “another horrific example of how men in the music industry use their power and influence to manipulate and harm others”.
Referencing the string of sexual assault lawsuits facing 54 year old Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs – and the rapper’s 2016 attack on his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, 37, which was caught in hotel surveillance footage – the attorneys added: “Dream, like Sean Combs did with Ms Ventura and others, used his standing as a prominent recording artist and producer to subject Ms Mangroe to vicious physical, psychological, and sexual abuse,’ the lawyers continued.
“While she will never fully recover from what he and those who supported him did to her, her willingness to speak out now is evidence of her extraordinary strength.
“We are honoured to represent her.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mandisa’s cause of death has been revealed as complications of “class III obesity”.
The ‘American Idol’ contestant – who was a star of the fifth series of the show before going on to win a Grammy – passed away on 18 April at her home in Nashville, and an autopsy report has now revealed how she died.
It said the singer was found dead in her home by friends, and that she “was last known alive approximately three weeks” earlier.
Class III obesity is defined a disease in which a sufferer has a “body mass index (BMI) of 40 or higher or a BMI of 35 or higher and is experiencing obesity-related health conditions”.
A representative for Mandisa announced her death in a statement on April 19 that said: “We can confirm that yesterday Mandisa was found in her home deceased.
“At this time we do not know the cause of death or any further details. We ask for your prayers for her family and close knit circle of friends during this incredibly difficult time.”
Christian rock radio station K-Love also confirmed her death, with the broadcaster’s chief media officer David Pierce saying in a statement her struggles were finally “over”.
He added: “Mandisa struggled, and she was vulnerable enough to share that with us, which helped us talk about our own struggles.
“Mandisa’s struggles are over. She is with the God she sang about now. While we are saddened, Mandisa is home. We’re praying for Mandisa’s family and friends and ask you to join us.”
Born and raised in California, Mandisa Lynn Hundley gained fame when she hit back at a then-notoriously critical ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell, 64, by heaping kindness on him when she appeared on the show in 2006.
She made it to the season’s Top 10 and went on to release her debut album ‘True Beauty’ in 2007 – becoming a Christian radio staple after the release of her tunes ‘Stronger’, ‘Good Morning’ and ‘My Deliverer’.
She said in her 2022 ‘Out of the Dark’ autobiography traumas she endured as a teenager included being raped and mental health battles.
Mandisa at one point considered suicide but was saved from the brink by friends who staged an intervention and forced her to go to therapy in addition to relying on prayer.
She said: “I went to counselling as a result of their intervention. And who knew that talking about these things, it’s actually good and healthy for you? It’s not a sign of weakness.
“In the same way that if you have a physical ailment, you would go and see a doctor, I’ve come to appreciate counsellors.
“These are professionals to help you deal with some things that are easy to sweep under the rug.
“So, through my counselling journey, which has continued, it’s helping me to talk about difficult issues… that I’m forcing myself to face.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey says she’s “lucky to be alive” amid severe health woes.
The ‘Him and I’ singer, 29, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane and who uses she/they pronouns, took to Instagram on Tuesday (04.06.24) to tell fans she has been struggling with serious medical issues ahead of the release of her fifth studio album.
They captioned a post that showed her in a video rubbing her legs while grimacing: “Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive. Short story long, I wrote an album.”
One track on her upcoming record is titled ‘The End’ and details her struggle to find answers about her health.
She sings on the acoustic ballad: “Every couple of years now, a doctor says I’m sick / Pulls out a brand new bag of tricks / And then they lay it on me / And at first, it was my brain, then a skeleton in pain.”
Halsey also tagged the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in her post about her health.
But the ‘Closer’ singer did not specify if she had been diagnosed with either disease.
Halsey added alongside a series of images of herself looking ill: “I feel like an old lady.
“I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick.”
The performer added by the time she turns 30, she wants to manifest a “rebirth” and that she is “not going to be sick”.
They said: “I’m going to look super-hot and have lots of energy and I’m just going to get to redo my twenties in my thirties.”
Another of her images in the carousel of pictures showing her health battle showed her sitting in a chair while attached to what looked like a transfusion machine.
They added in a caption alongside the clip, which showed the singer wearing a surgical face mask and bandana: “Today is day one of treatment.”
Halsey concluded the post with a montage of clips that showed her crying, holding medicine vials and being linked up to IV drips.

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Kelce’s close friend says the NFL star and Taylor Swift will “hopefully soon” be getting married.
The Kansas City Chiefs player, 34, who has been dating the ‘Bad Blood’ singer, also 34, since last summer, was said by his pal Patrick Regan to be on the verge of walking down the aisle with the performer.
He told the ‘Your Day Off’ podcast when asked if the couple were preparing to get hitched: “Hopefully soon, that’ll be fun.”
The celebrity hairdresser stressed the couple has yet to “announce” anything.
But he told about how he has got close to Taylor: “It’s like kind of cool to see because I know her as a person now. She’s just a really nice person like, it’s just, she’s very interested in what you’re saying, she doesn’t act like the most famous celebrity in the world, you know.”
Patrick added Taylor is a “good girlfriend” to Travis and thinks it’s “pretty cool” to see their blossoming relationship.
He also said about how Travis had to move homes to increase his security amid the spotlight he found himself under since dating Taylor: “Travis is one of my bros. I used to just go sleep at his house every weekend so things kind of … changed a little bit but it’s cool to see.”
Patrick said Travis has “more security” to protect him from being swarmed by fans and paparazzi at his new pad, adding: “I’m happy for him and seeing the stardom that he’s getting, ’cause he’s just a normal guy too.
“You guys would love him. He’s just a regular dude.”
Travis and Taylor secretly started seeing each other in July 2023 and didn’t confirm their romance until September when the singer turned up to support Travis at one of his Chiefs games.
Even though there is no sign from the pair they are planning a wedding, a source told Page Six in January Travis is planning to propose to Taylor on their first anniversary this month.

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooke Shields feels “more youthful” now than she “was in [her] youth”.
The 59-year-old star has revealed that she currently feels more energised and more confident than ever before.
The actress told Allure: “I am more youthful now than I was in my youth. My energy, my confidence, my lack of self-judgement.
“The negative tapes that I played [in my mind] … they don’t play anymore. They’re all stretched out.”
Brooke confessed to feeling under pressure to look a certain way during her younger years.
She explained: “I spent a great deal of my life trying to live up to an expectation that was presented as me.
“I’m not good enough because I don’t look like that, or that’s what I need to be doing. ‘Well, you’ve never done runway, Brooke, because you’re athletic’ – that’s a euphemism for ‘not skinny.’
“As a model in your younger days, those are the messages you get – all about what you’re not. Then you get to this age and you start going through this list of all the things you are. And it’s so much more empowering than the chipping away of yourself that I did.”
Despite this, Brooke isn’t opposed to the idea of cosmetic surgery.
The actress believes that it can have a transformative impact.
Asked about people getting facelifts, she said: “Why not? I have three friends who did the half thing. I’ve seen it change their lives.”
However, Brooke insisted that she won’t be going down that route herself.
The ‘Pretty Baby’ star – who is married to film director Chris Henchy – explained: “I’m afraid at this point to do it. But I can’t say don’t, because that’s not fair if it’s available.
“I think when it starts too young, that’s different.”
