Taylor Swift overjoyed her fans smashed ‘all-time attendance record’ for Anfield Stadium

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift is overjoyed her fans smashed the “all-time attendance record” for Anfield Stadium.
The ‘Bad Blood’ singer, 34, played a marathon show at the arena on Thursday (13.06.24) night, shattering the previous best for most fans to gather there – set by Liverpool Football Club 72 years ago.
Taylor told her crowd of 62,000-plus ‘Swifties’ the record had been broken, and even though an exact number was not revealed it must have exceeded the last one of 61,905 football fans who packed the stadium on 2 February, 1952.
She said: “So, I just want to say, those things mean the world to us getting to play this show for people who would go so far above and beyond for us and welcome us to Liverpool in such a fashion.
“We love you so much and, you know, while I was walking to the stage, they pulled me aside and told me another thing you did for us tonight.
“And that thing is that you – you broke the all time attendance record for this stadium tonight.
“Don’t you just love knowing there’s never been as many people in this room as there are right now? I, personally, love that feeling.”
Taylor’s ongoing ‘Eras Tour’ – which returns to Anfield on Friday (14.06.24) and Saturday – has broken a series of other live records.
It is the highest grossing tour in history, with more than 4.3 million tickets sold, resulting in over $1 billion in gross sales.
Taylor shattered the ticket sales record set at Seattle’s Lumen Field, New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium, the AT and T Stadium in Arlington, Sao Paolo’s Allianz Parque, Nashville’s Nissan Stadium and Melbourne’s Cricket Ground.
Thursday marked the 100th show in her ‘Eras Tour’, and she told fans during the three hours-plus gig about the milestone: “(It) blows my mind – it doesn’t feel like a statistic to me… because this has genuinely been the most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life, this tour.”

Serena Williams was inspired to achieve success after a man ‘ghosted’ her

OHMYGOSSIP — Serena Williams was inspired to achieve success after being “ghosted” by a man.
The 42-year-old tennis champion was ranked world No.1 in singles by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) for 319 weeks and is the is the only player to accomplish a Career Golden Slam in both singles and doubles but admitted that her motivation all came from an early relationship that suddenly broke down without warning.
Speaking in her new ESPN docuseries ‘In the Arena’, she explained: “It was the first relationship that I had ever had, but I was in my 20s, so you know, whatever…and then he ghosts me, I got ghosted. And it wasn’t even that serious, but it was like I used that and I made it way more serious than what it was. So, when he ghosted me, I used that as an opportunity to say, ‘He’s gonna regret this for the rest of his life.’ That was just the motivation I needed, just the excuse I used to go the extra mile.”
Serena – who is now married to Alexis Ohanian and has Olympia, six, and Adira, nine months – retired from the tennis court in 2022 but admitted that she wanted to make sure that the person who abandoned her would “never forget” her as she cemented her rise to global fame and wanted to be around in their life forever through her celebrity status.
She said: “I’m gonna make sure that this person never forgets me. I’m gonna make sure that this person sees me everywhere for the rest of their life. I can be vengeful.”
The sports star previously explained that now that she is retired, she wants to be the “best mom” that she can be and wants to explain to her eldest more about her achievements now that they are at an age where they can understand a bit more.
She told People: “I have to be the best mom. I have to go to all of Olympia’s things at her school. I told her the other day that she actually was in my belly when I won a big tournament [the 2017 Australian Open], and she was surprised.
“She’s at an age now where I can kind of open up to her a little bit more and she can understand things more, whereas she didn’t really understand before.”

Steve Coogan’s film portrayal of university academic ruled defamatory

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Coogan’s film portrayal of a university academic has been ruled as defamatory.
The ‘Philomena’ actor, 58, was a writer on and producer of the 2022 movie ‘The Lost King’, which told of real-life history researcher Phillipa Langley going up against Richard Taylor in her mission to find the grave of Richard III in 2012, half a century after the king was killed.
Formerly a deputy registrar at the University of Leicester, Richard had sued Steve and his production company Baby Cow, as well as Pathe Productions – saying the portrayal of him in the film was an unfair caricature of a “suited bean-counter” who was “devious” and “weasel-like” as well as “patronising and misogynistic” to Phillipa, who was played by Sally Hawkins, 48, in the movie.
His Honour Judge Lewis ruled on Friday (14.06.24) morning the portrayal was defamatory and would have come across as negative to the “reasonable viewer”.
He added: “The character Mr Taylor was portrayed throughout the film in a negative light. At no point was he shown in a way that could be described as positive, or even neutral.
“Whilst an individual scene may not in itself cross the threshold of seriousness, taken together the film makes a powerful comment about the claimant and the way he conducted himself when undertaking a senior professional role for a university.
“The poor way in which he was depicted as behaving towards Ms Langley was contrary to common shared values of our society and would have been recognised as such by the hypothetical reasonable viewer.”
But the judge rejected Richard’s argument the hypothetical reasonable viewer would have come away thinking he was misogynist or sexist.
The ruling means the case can proceed to a full trial, where Steve, Baby Cow and Pathe Productions will have to defend the defamatory portrayal.
Richard’s lawyers, William Bennett KC and Victoria Jolliffe, argued their client had been presented as “dismissive, patronising and misogynistic” towards Phillipa Langley in the film.
Andrew Caldecott KC, acting for Steve and the two production companies, previously defended the portrayal of the academic by saying: “It is a feature film, not a documentary.
“It would be clear to the ordinary reasonable viewer that the film is not a documentary, it is a dramatisation of events.
“The concept of fictional films based on real events is not a new one.”

Tony Bennett’s children battling over his estate

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Bennett’s children are fighting over his estate less than a year after the crooner’s death.
The ‘Rags to Riches’ singer passed away aged 96 at his home in New York on 21 July, 2023, after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease, and his children Antonia Bennett and Johanna Bennett have now filed a lawsuit against their brother D’Andrea ‘Danny’ Bennett for an undisclosed amount over their late father’s trust and assets.
Antonia and Johanna named their other brother Daegal ‘Dae’ Bennett, and Tony’s widow Susan Benedetto as additional respondents in the filing.
Antonia and Johanna say in their court papers they are seeking “equitable relief” as they believe proceeds from the sale of some of Tony’s assets to brand development firm Iconoclast were not accounted for by Danny – who was Tony’s manager and is the trustee of the Family Trust.
The sisters claim that in his role as Tony’s manager, Danny obtained “personal benefits” for “himself and his company” as the result of transactions made on behalf of Tony, Benedetto Arts, LLC, and the family trust.
They include the sale and consignment of his late father’s memorabilia and personal property.
Antonia and Johanna also allege their brother and his legal team have “persistently” failed and refused to provide full context when it comes to Tony’s property and assets in which they have rights and interests as beneficiaries.
Tony is said to have died with a net worth of $200 million.
Antonia and Johanna say in their filing: “Although Danny and his counsel have provided piecemeal information and produced some documents to Petitioners’ counsel, the information provided raises more questions than answers and fails to provide anything close to an accounting of Tony’s assets and financial affairs.”
The sisters add they have “well-founded concerns” about father-of-four Tony’s finances and assets involving FamilyTrust assets and Benedetto Arts, LLC prior to and following his death.
They are requesting all property and assets are “inventoried”, accounted for, and distributed “pursuant to the express terms of the Family Trust”.
Danny will need to turn over all principal, interest, receipts, disbursements, expenditures and tax returns.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days, you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.
“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”

She said: “I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.

Jennifer Garner makes rare comments about her children following her divorce from Ben Affleck

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Garner has thanked her children’s teachers for all the support they have given them.
The 52-year-old actress has Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and 12-year-old Samuel with her ex-husband Ben Affleck and almost five years on from when their divorce was finalised, she took to social media to acknowledge the way in which her children’s educators have “cared” about them over the years.
She wrote on Instagram: “Thank you for caring about my children with me, for tying their shoes and holding their hands. Thank you for disciplining my kids when they’ve needed it and for offering more hugs than some children receive in a lifetime.
“Thank you for all of the hard work that goes into having high expectations, for buckling down and teaching them the discomfort and joy of tolerating frustration toward a greater good.
“Thank you for choosing to study and become educators and for doing your jobs with your whole heart. I’m sure that the demands and frustrations of the classroom can obfuscate the mission behind your place in it, but what’s more noble than teaching children-not a whole lot, as far as I can tell.”
In the caption of her post, the ’13 Going on 30′ star noted as her eldest finished high school and her youngest finished elementary school “gratitude” was needed for the educators after so much time together.
She said: “A little gratitude for our wonderful family elementary school at the end of 13 years together applies to all educators: thank you for doing what you do.
“And congratulations to all the mamas out there with kids moving from one phase to the next.”
Jennifer – who is currently thought to be dating John Miller again after a brief period of separation whilst Ben is married to pop superstar Jennifer Lopez – previously admitted that the “hard” part about her divorce was having to go through it in the public eye.
Speaking on ‘CBS Sunday Mornings’, she said: “Looking back on that, I really feel the stress of it. I really — I could cry talking about it. What I think I’ve learned is that the scrutiny in your private life puts a pressure to make something happen. You feel a pressure to hurry up and get married, ‘cause you think that’ll end the, ‘Are they engaged? Are they not?’ And that’s true in reverse, as well. If you are — if there is any inkling of trouble, or if the tabloids decide there’s trouble, it can create trouble. But to be honest, public scrutiny, everyone says, ‘Oh, you’ve had to go through this in public.’ The public isn’t what’s hard. What’s hard is going through it.”

She said: “There’s moments that I do feel sad. Anna wasn’t a really emotional person, but for me, it is just trying to remember her in all the good ways. I want to try to erase all of the bad couple of days.”

Miley Cyrus ‘hopeful’ that Billy Ray’s divorce will fix their family rift

OHMYGOSSIP — Miley Cyrus is reportedly “hopeful” that her father’s divorce will mend their family rift.
The 31-year-old pop superstar is thought to have cut ties with her father after he divorced her mother Tish, 57, and married Firerose, 35, but following the news that they too have now split up, insiders have claimed that she and her siblings “never understood” why Billy Ray tied the knot with her in the first place.
A source told Us Weekly: “Miley, Noah, and their siblings never understood the relationship and why Billy married her so abruptly. No one approved of the marriage. Miley is hopeful this will give some peace to the family and she thinks this is a good step in the right direction for him.”
The ‘Flowers’ singer attended Tish’s wedding to Dominic Purcell in August along with her older siblings Trace and Brandi, whilst her younger brother and sister Braison and Noah did not, and also failed to mention the ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ hitmaker during her acceptance speech when she won a Grammy earlier this year.
Documents seen by PEOPLE show that Billy Ray cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct as the reason for the divorce.
What’s more, the country music star – who was married to Tish Cyrus between 1993 and 2022 – is seeking an annulment on the grounds of fraud.
Neither Billy Ray nor Firerose – whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges – have made any public comment about their split but they no longer follow each other on Instagram.
Billy Ray began dating Firerose in 2022, but had met her more than a decade before, when she was auditioning for a project at the same studios where he and Miley filmed ‘Hannah Montana’ for the Disney Channel.

“At some point, teenage years will hit and they’ll think you’re lame or whatever. So I’m savouring this. I’m like, this is the coolest I’m ever going to be.”
The ‘Grand Theft Autumn’ rocker also noted that some fans might not realise that the majority of his time is spent behind the scenes and thinks it is “really great” when something he has written is finally picked up by his kids when it makes it onto TV.
He said: “I don’t think people realise this is most of what I do these days. You see me on tour and whatever, and that’s almost like a break from this. I’m so focused on ‘Spider-Man’ right now and Spidey all year round.
“When I’m working on stuff, I work on a song and it doesn’t air for a year or two sometimes, so I’ll forget, and I don’t know when these things are coming out. So then my kids will just show up singing one of the songs. I’m like, ‘Oh, is the episode out?’ And it’s really great!”

Chris Colfer reflects on ‘very gruelling’ days of Glee stardom

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Colfer found the early days of ‘Glee’ to be a “very gruelling process”.
The 34-year-old actor shot to fame as Kurt Hummel in the late 2000s TV series alongside the likes of Lea Michele, Amber Riley and the late Cory Monteith and recalled that the auditioning process was exhausting and that he and his fellow castmates all got “complete shock” when they realise how hard the dancing element of the musical show was going to be.
Speaking on the ‘Drama Queens’ podcast, he said: “The beginning of ‘Glee’ was a very grueling process. I think we each had four auditions. We had a casting director, callbacks, network, and studio.
“All in a row. We had to sing and act in those auditions. It wasn’t until we all showed up for the first day of singing rehearsal for the pilot that we realized that you have to dance in show choir, and none of us had ever danced before.
“And so that was a complete shock to us and to our bodies, because … it was never part of the audition process, and it was never written into the script.
“And, when I think of show choir, I think of like ‘Sister Act 2’, where they, you know, they kind of step touch, step touch, but it’s really focused on the singing part. It was like the first time any of us had ever had to dance like that.”
Chris – who has now carved out a second career as an author with children’s books such as ‘ Roswell Johnson Saves the World’ – also noted that the audiences of the Fox TV series seemed to blur the lines between the characters and the actors on the show, which he claimed was the “most challenging” part of being in the show.
He said: “What I didn’t realise was when the audience found out that a lot of these experiences that they were watching were autobiographical of us, the separation between actor and character became nonexistent.
“And that was — that was probably the most challenging part of ‘Glee’, was having … millions and millions and millions of people think you were someone that you were not.”

Princess Diana was ‘very nervous’ for her pyramids photoshoot

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana was “very nervous” for her photoshoot in front of the Giza pyramids.
The late royal – who died in a car crash at the age of 36 in 1997 – famously posed in front of the Egyptian landmark five years before her tragic death but now the photographer Samir Hussein, who worked alongside his father Anwar, has recalled that she felt “very uneasy” on the day of the shoot.
He told Us Weekly: “My father got into a conversation with her and she said she was very nervous when it came to appearing in front of big iconic landmarks. She was visiting Egypt the next day and she was going to be visiting the pyramids.
“My father said to her ‘Well, you’re so natural, why don’t you just pretend you’re a model?'”
Samir also noted that Princess Diana had a “good relationship” with his dad and that there seemed to be a lot of “humor and trust and…connection” between the two of them on the project, which came in the same year she divorced from the then-Prince Charles.
Samir, along with his family, has worked with the royals for more than 40 years and previously described Diana’s sons Prince William and Prince Harry as “very charming” as he noted that Queen Camilla – who was known as the Ducess of Cornwall in the years prior to the death of Queen Elizabeth – was the “easiest” to photograph.
He said: “Both William and Harry are very charming when you meet them. They have great banter and effortlessly home in on a common ground of interest. It’s very hard not to warm to them when you meet them.
“Probably the easiest to photograph though is the Duchess of Cornwall. She makes a big effort to acknowledge the cameras and is always up for trying things which will help us get a strong photo. She is super friendly, going out of her way to engage with the press.”
