OHMYGOSSIP — Gayle King has shot to Justin Timberlake’s defence after he was arrested this week.
The ‘Cry Me A River’ hitmaker’s car was pulled over in Sag Harbor, New York in the early hours of Tuesday (18.06.24) and he was detained on charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI) after taking a field sobriety test and allegedly refusing a breathalyser.
But 69-year-old journalist Gayle has insisted the 43-year-old pop star is a “really, really great guy”.
Speaking on ‘CBS Mornings’, she said: “Justin Timberlake is a really, really great guy.
“Listen, this is clearly a mistake – I bet nobody knows it more than he.”
After TV host Nate Burleson insisted on the show it appeared to be a “stupid mistake”, Gayle said: “[He] knows that”, and she continued to defend the star.
She added: “He’s not an irresponsible person, he’s not reckless, he’s not careless.
“Clearly this is not a good thing but he knows that.”
But she also said: “Driving drunk, there is never any excuse for that ever.”
Justin has been charged with one count of driving while intoxicated, and he also received two citations – one for running a stop sign and another for failure to keep in lane.
His legal team have vowed to “vigorously defend” him in court.
Justin’s lawyer, Edward Burke Jr. told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column in a statement: “[We] look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations. We will have a lot to say at the appropriate time. He is currently awaiting full discovery from the DA’s office.”
According to the paperwork, the arresting officer observed Timberlake’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy, a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardised field sobriety tests”.
After being taken to a police station, the report was read aloud to the former NSYNC singer. He responded: “No, I’m not doing a chemical test.”
And after being read the report two more times, he replied: “I refuse [to take a chemical test].”
Following Justin’s arrest, Sag Harbor Village Police Chief Robert Drake released a statement that read: “On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel.
“A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition.
“Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, process, and held overnight for morning arraignment.
“Mr. Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 AM where he was released on his own recognizance.”
Justin is due to return to court on July 26.

OHMYGOSSIP — Remy Ma’s son has been charged with murder.
The ‘Lean Back’ rapper’s 23-year-old offspring, Jayson ‘Jace’ Scott, and 22-year-old Richard Swygert were taken into custody on Tuesday (18.06.24) in connection with the shooting of Darius Guillebeaux, who lost his life aged 47 on 7 June 2021
In a statement to People magazine, the New York Police Department confirmed Scott had been charged with first and second-degree murder, as well as reckless endangerment in the first degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
Meanwhile, the other suspect has been charged with first-degree murder, reckless endangerment in the first degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
It is unclear if either man had a prior connection to the victim.
The shooting took place in Queens, with cops responding at the time to a 911 call about a man having been shot at the intersection of 148 Street and Rockaway Boulevard.
A police statement reported: “Upon arrival, officers observed a 47-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
“EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.”
The victim was later identified as Guillebeaux.
Remy – whose real name is Reminisce Smith – has faced her own legal issues in the past and been arrested a number of times over the year.
In 2007, she was sent to prison for six years following a shooting in New York which saw her found guilty on weapons, assault and attempted coercion charges.
The 44-year-old rapper began her career as a member of the Terror Squad rap group in 1998 alongside the likes of Fat Joe and Big Pun.

The ‘Sandman’ star was spotted cradling her baby bump at a special event to celebrate the opening of a new exhibition, Imaginary Conversations: An ERDEM Collection Inspired by Duchess Deborah, at London’s Chatsworth House on Wednesday evening (19.06.24).
Jenna was wearing a green floral dress when she posed for pictures on a staircase at the event, while placing two hands under her bump.
It comes six months after speculation that 38-year-old Jenna and her director boyfriend Jamie Childs, 35, had married after she was spotted with a chunky ring on her engagement finger.
The pair met on the set of US fantasy drama series ‘The Sandman’, which also features ‘The Boat That Rocked’ star Tom Sturridge, Harry Potter’s David Thewlis, and ‘Game of Thrones’ star Gwendoline Christie.
In 2019, ‘Victoria’ actress Jenna – who played Queen Victoria in the ITV drama – insisted she didn’t feel any “pressure” to have kids, despite many of her pals having babies.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jude Law is “really proud” of how he handled fame in his early career.
The 51-year-old actor was suddenly thrust into the spotlight after starring in 1999’s ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’ with Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow, and he’s glad he was able to adjust to becoming a household name.
He told People magazine: “I look back now — my eldest son is 27, and I wasn’t much older.
“And honestly, I look back and I’m really proud. I think I handled it pretty well.”
Jude – who has children Rafferty, 27, Iris, 23, and Rudy, 21, with ex-wife Sadie Frost, who he split from in 2003 – admitted becoming a Hollywood star was “everything” he’d hoped for.
He added: “It was just a wonderful period of my life. It felt like everything I’d hoped acting and that career could provide was happening.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Teigen has fired back after being “roasted” on social media for her “dirty” bathwater.
The 38-year-old model has defended her bathing habits following backlash from some fans online over a video her husband John Legend shared of her in the tub.
Posting the same clip on her own Instagram account, she wrote: “Currently getting roasted online for being dirty because no one listened the the audio where I say I’m soaking off body makeup (to shower after!)
“Full blown fights in John’s comments. My favorite is ‘baths are not for bathing.’
“I love a good old fashioned roasting though, u guys are killing it (it being never touching grass ever).”
John was also amused by the response to the video, which showed his wife in the nude bathing in brown-coloured water.
He replied to her post: “Baths are not for bathing is some amazing internet-ness.”
In the original video, Chrissy explained that she was removing her body makeup, but it was clear some people in the comments hadn’t listened.
She added in the comments: “The water is dirty because I’m getting my body makeup off, like I said in the video my sweet angels!”
Chrissy – who has kids Luna, 8, Miles, 6, Esti, 16 months, and Wren, 11 months, with John – recently opened up about the dangers of social media, and monitoring her kids’ internet usage.
Speaking at Aura’s inaugural Digital Parenthood Summit, she said: “Unless there are more rules and regulations in place, I would prefer for them not to be on social [until after high school].
I want them to be safe and happy and flourishing as kids.”
She does still share her children online, which is down to the “community” she has where she can “share the ups and downs” of parenthood.
She explained: “In so much of my life, I feel like people don’t understand me. But being a mom is where a lot of people understand me…

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Ray Cyrus is said to be “relieved” that his marriage to Firerose is over.
The 62-year-old country singer filed for divorce from the singer – whose real name is Johanna Hodges – in May after just over six months of marriage and now insiders have claimed that he believes that she did not marry him for love.
A source told People: “He is more relieved every day that he’s done with his marriage. His instincts have been correct all along. He believes she only married him for financial and other reasons. He’s convinced that she didn’t marry him for love.”
The comments come just days after Billy Ray’s legal team branded Firerose’s allegations against him “confusing and suspicious”, following the news that she had accused him of exhibiting “extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse”.
But in a statement, Billy Ray’s lawyers have hit back at her allegations as they claimed she “begged” him to reconcile days after he applied to formally end their marriage.
The statement added: “If Mr. Cyrus was truly guilty of the allegations that [Firerose] alleges in her pleadings, then it is mindboggling to try and explain why she would want to return to live with him.
“Furthermore, she was pleading with him to give her a chance to explain everything to him.”
After Firerose, 36, filed her divorce petition on 14 June, Billy Ray’s team responded and submitted their own complaint on 17 June, a supplement to his initial annulment and divorce complaint that was lodged on 23 May.
He alleged his estranged wife “had been conducting a campaign to isolate” him from his family and blocked him from communicating with a daughter since the May filing, and also included a handwritten note he claimed had been penned by Firerose.
His lawyers, Rose Palermo and Jason Talley, told People Billy Ray had “discovered” the letter in which Firerose was “professing her love and need to be with Mr. Cyrus” when he returned to his home two days after she “was required, by Court Order, to vacate his residence of over 25 years.”
The note read: “I miss you more than I can possibly explain in words Baby.
“Please let’s work this out and not become anything but closer out of this hellish experience.

“I need you. I love you. I am so sorry.”
The ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ hitmaker – who split from Tish Cyrus in 2022 after almost 30 years of marriage – began dating Firerose in 2022, but had met her more than a decade before, when she was auditioning for a project at the same studios where he and Miley Cyrus, 31, filmed ‘Hannah Montana’ for the Disney Channel.

The 43-year-old reality star has recently dabbled in the world of acting with a part in ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘The Fifth Wheel’ but while she still has aspirations to continue that aspect of her career, she believes that time is limited before her Botox will limit her abilities.
Speaking on Thursday’s (20.06.24) episode of ‘The Kardashians’, she said: “I wasn’t planning on this career, and I was like, ‘OK, I’m not gonna get ahead of myself here. I’m really nervous about it, because I have to f******* deliver…. Every year I want to do something that makes me so uncomfortable that I really have to challenge myself. I feel like you need less Botox for more emotion, and I do not have that. How am I gonna be scared? How am I gonna cry?”

The 30-year-old singer and his wife Katelyn, 32, welcomed a son named Krewe Allen into the world earlier this week, a sibling for daughters Kinglsey, four, and two-year-old Kodi.
The couple took to Instagram on Wednesday (19.06.24) to share the happy news.
Alongside some photos of the new arrival, they wrote: “Krewe Allen Brown 6.18.”
The couple announced they were expecting another baby in December, sharing a photo of themselves with their daughters, who were holding up a sonogram picture.

The ‘Desperate Housewives’ star will be part of the upcoming fourth season of the murder mystery comedy series, and she will be reuniting with her distant relative Meryl after finding out they shared recent ancestry after 2010 docu-series ‘Faces of America’.
Speaking to DuJour magazine, she laughed: “We actually call each other ‘cousin’. We’ll say, ‘How are you, cousin?’ and ‘I’m good, cousin.’”
Not everyone was aware of their familial relationship on ‘Only Murders’, and it was a shock to everyone when Meryl referred to Eva as her cousin during the first Zoom table read.

The 41-year-old actress recently revealed she had injured her vocal cords during her time working on upcoming animated movie ‘The Wild Robot’, and she ended up having to wear a badge to let other fans know why she was keeping quiet at the shows.
Appearing on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’, she said: “Sometimes people, fans thought I was being rude because I wouldn’t say anything. I’d just be like, [striking a pose].

In the new DreamWorks Animation film, Lupita voices title character Roz, who is a robot shipwrecked on an uninhabited island.

She explained: “Well, okay, so, she’s a robot. And she goes through this journey to finding, I guess, what we would call humanity, like empathy.
“And so, at the start of the movie, I chose to do this very kind of like super positive voice. And it was just not in my local register, which is a lot lower.
“And so, I did it for way too long over a number of days, and I got a vocal polyp. And so, I lost my ability to speak.
“And my doctor put me on vocal rest. I was on vocal rest for three months.”
The ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ actress wanted to avoid undergoing surgery, especially after being told by her doctor that 35 percent of people recover naturally.
She added: “And I was so determined to be part of that 35 percent. And I did. I cured myself.”

The 43-year-old singer was arrested earlier this week on charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI) after taking a field sobriety test and allegedly refusing a breathalyser, and it’s said he contacted his team hours later to reassure them about his upcoming world tour.
A source told The U.S. Sun newspaper that Timberlake gathered his crew together for a conference call after some workers were concerned about the summer plans.
The insider said: “He made sure that this arrest didn’t create tension in the crew, he reacted like a boss, like someone who owns his s***.
“He said sorry for bringing this kind of attention to the team. Everyone was happy to hear what he said.”
There had reportedly been fears amongst the crew that his tour could be cancelled.
However, another source said: “We were quickly told nothing was going to change.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Hannah Waddingham feels “deeply privileged” to be performing the National Anthem ahead of the British Grand Prix.
The ‘Ted Lasso’ actress admitted getting to sing ‘God Save the King’ at Silverstone ahead of the Formula 1 Qatar Airways British Grand Prix on 7 July is something she will never forget.
She said in a statement: “It’s the most enormous “pinch-me” moment to perform the National Anthem ahead of this year’s race. I feel deeply privileged.
“The atmosphere and excitement at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix last year was utterly electric and I can’t wait to be a part of it again. I am immensely proud of my British roots and I will remember this honour all my life.”
And the 49-year-old star pledged her support to British drivers Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and Lando Norris.
She added: “I’ll of course be cheering on our British drivers – The mighty Lewis, George and Lando… C’mon Chaps! Let’s DO this!”
The British Grand Prix will take place amid a four-day festival at the home of British motorsport.
Kings of Leon will perform on Thursday 4 July, with Stormzy topping the bill the following evening.

OHMYGOSSIP — Courtney Stodden has got engaged just days after flushing her ex-fiancé’s engagement ring down the toilet.
The 29-year-old star – who split from her ex Chris Sheng last summer and was previously married to Doug Hutchinson, 64 – has been in a relationship with Emmy Award-winning producer Jared Safier since last year after they met on a film set in August.
As reported by TMZ, the couple are now engaged, and he proposed with a 5-carat, radiant-cut VVS ring.
Jared proposed last Tuesday (11.06.24) at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, which is the same one featured in YEAR classic ‘Pretty Woman’, where they visited earlier this year.
Courtney – who is non-binary and uses she/they pronouns – actually spotted the specific ring at the time, and months later he gave her the new diamond at the hotel’s THE Blvd Restaurant and Bar.
A source told the outlet that the couple are “not diving into wedding planning”, and will instead spend time “just basking in the glow of their engagement”.
Courtney was recently seen flushing the $500,000 diamond engagement ring – the one she received from Chris – down the toilet during a spring clean.
After Chris proposed, she said the ring made her “gag” with its beauty.
In a now-deleted post on Instagram, she wrote at the time: “I said yes … OH and the ring made me gag it’s so beautiful [sic].”

The 41-year-old model – who has Flynn, 13, with ex-husband Orlando Bloom and Hart, six, Myles, four, and four-month-old Pierre with spouse Evan Spiegel – always dreamed of being a mother but suggested she isn’t looking to have more kids following the recent arrival of her youngest son.
She told the Times newspaper: “Growing up, I was a bit of a tomboy. I would often watch my dad fix V8 car engines and fit hotdogs [mufflers] on to exhausts, but I always knew I wanted to be a mother.
“Now I have four children. My newest little son really completes our family. I feel so blessed to have him.”
Although Evan is the co-founder of Snapchat, Miranda revealed the tech mogul “avoids screens” at all times, so the family bond over music rather than movies or TV shows.
Asked if there’s a cinema room in their house, she said: “No, my husband avoids screens at all times. He grew up without a TV.
“His mother told him that if he wanted a computer, he would have to make it himself. So he went to the store, bought all the parts and did.
“We love to blast music in our house and have dance parties all the time. We’re big fans of Shania Twain and Stevie Nicks.”
The Kora Organics founder also admitted her husband is the only person who can get away with breaking her house rules.
Discussing the rules she has in placefor their California home, she said: “I have a small Australian labradoodle called Teddy. She’s nine, sleeps in the bedroom and is definitely not allowed to jump on the bed.
“I also try to encourage a no-shoes rule in the house. My husband sometimes breaks it, but he’s the only one who gets away with it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins joked she wants a career change after trying her hand at bingo calling.
The reality TV legend surprised the crowd at a club in East London earlier this week when she took to the stage to guide players through their game.
After the first game, she exclaimed: “I really wanna do this as a full time job…
“This is good, this is a fun night out.”
And later in her appearance, she echoed the sentiment and said: “I so wanna change my life and career and do this, it’s fun.”
The 43-year-old star also offered reassurance to those who weren’t lucky enough to win.
She said: “Come to the bingo with GC and win… You’re all winners in my eyes.”
Gemma proved she was a natural with some traditional calls such as “Legs 11” and “two little ducks” for 22, as well as expressing her desire to be “18 again” when she called the number.
Gemma made her appearance to remind the nation it’s nearly time for National Bingo Day on Thursday 27 June and urged others to visit their local club for a game.
She said: “I had an absolute blast calling out the numbers at the bingo! What a night. Bingo brings everyone together and it’s fun and a cheap night out too.
“It was brilliant to meet the regulars – enjoying themselves and having a laugh with friends. I encourage everyone to support their local clubs next week for the big National Bingo Week.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sabrina Carpenter knows she “cannot control” the way others see her.
The 25-year-old singer started her career on Disney Channel more than a decade ago and has released a string of albums since but is now receiving global attention with her summer smash hit ‘Espresso’ and has to remind herself on a daily basis that she can do nothing about the way others perceive her.
She told Vanity Fair: “I think, for me, right now, you aren’t ever going to really fully control the way that people see you. That is something I have to re-accept every day. I’m at a point now where I’m just trying to not take it so seriously. The things that people say, I know that these people have very little context on me as an actual person so that makes me feel a little bit better.
The ‘Please Please Please’ songstress also noted that her “least favourite” thing about being on tour now is that anyone can capture her from an unflattering angle at any time but deals with it by pretending that it is an alter-ego of herself who takes to the stage.
“But if I’m gonna be super real…do I like that someone can just take a photo from the craziest angle on human earth? No…but because I’m a girl and you know…that’s maybe my least favourite thing about being on tour. Because I’ll be like ‘That’s what I look like?’ But it’s a video so I’ll just think ‘Oh that was some other girl, that was my alter ego. That wasn’t me out there!'”
Sabrina also noted that her “self-development” has been a process of learning not to worry about mistakes she has made in the past and focusing on what memories she wants to take into the future.
She said: “It’s a process of making mistakes and not trying to stay up worrying about those mistakes. I think it’s a mixture of that and then trying not to take it all so seriously. I guess what they say is that it’s the times you’re gonna look back on. I try to make decisions now that I’m afraid to make because I’m young and I can get away with it.”
