OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Esposito’s career was nearly cut short by a “Harvey Weinstein-esque person”.
The ‘Crash’ actress and filmmaker, 51, did not name the man, but branded him a “notorious” and “brutal” producer and accused him of spreading lies about her as part of a mission to derail her path to fame when she was only 26.
She told the ‘She Pivots’ podcast: “He fired me for no reason. He wanted someone else and he got her.”
Jennifer also told the show’s lawyer host Emily Tisch Sussman the producer discouraged others who wanted to hire her, and added about his lies: “He said I was a drug addict – (that) never happened.
“(He) had the power and used it to completely end a young girl’s career at 26 years old.”
Jennifer added she was dropped by her agency in the wake of the producer’s lies, and said staff there knew about the unfair treatment but told her they couldn’t help.
She went on: “I casually got moved to the desk of the assistant and then casually (shoved) out the door, and I couldn’t get work.
“I didn’t have an agent and a manager for two-and-a-half years.”
Jennifer has just finished writing, directing and starring in ‘Fresh Kills’, a crime drama that marks her feature-length filmmaking debut, and said without the hard time she endured at the hands of the producer early in her career she may not have achieved the feat.
Referring to her 26-year-old self, she added the project “really was” dedicated “to that kid”.
She added: “It was a hard time. But it was also a beautiful time. Because if I wasn’t that kid, I would have never been this woman.
“And I’m very proud of who I am and very proud of what I’ve done.
“I know for a fact that if that didn’t happen with that producer and my road had been easier, I would have never written and directed what I just did.
“I gave her her career back in the way that she could do it. Not the way someone else told me I could do it. I needed to right the wrong again.”

OHMYGOSSIP — French acting icon Anouk Aimée has been hailed as “timeless” and a “beautiful person” after her death aged 92.
The big screen siren is best known for becoming the epitome of doomed romance in the 1960s after she appeared in the Oscar-winning film ‘A Man and a Woman’, and news has broken she passed away on Tuesday (18.06.24) at her home in Paris.
Her agent announced her death, sparking a wave of tributes to the actress from celebrities and fans.
One of the most moving tributes was from ‘A Man and a Woman’ director Claude Lelouch, 86, who said on X: “Anouk, my Nanny, left us this morning. She’s gone to join Jean-Louis, Pierre, Francis, and others.
“She has been my road companion, my friend forever. She gave me all my chances and said yes when, young filmmaker, others said no.
“Because of her and only her, I’ve guarded the light. Her silhouette and grace will forever be etched on a Normandy beach.
“After making the whole earth dream, now she will make angels dream.”
Claude’s tribute was posted on X as a typed letter with his signature at the bottom.
A cause of death for Anouk is yet to be revealed.
She also starred in big-screen masterpieces including Federico Fellini’s ‘La Dolce Vita’ and ‘8 1/2’.
Her career from 1947 until her retirement in 2019 saw her appear in 70 films.
Born Nicole Françoise Florence Dreyfus in Paris, she started her film career aged 14 after studying drama and dance.
Along with appearing in a string of French classics, she also made films in Spain, Italy, Germany, the US and Britain.
She was renowned for her haunting beauty and voted one of the sexiest actresses in history, with her awards including best actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her work in Marco Bellocchio’s 1980 movie ‘A Leap in the Dark’, and in 2002 she received an honorary César Award.

OHMYGOSSIP — Usher’s 2024 Super Bowl halftime show was one of the “hardest 15 minutes” of his life.
The ‘Burn’ singer, 45, was the headliner during the clash at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, in February, with his energy-packed gig featuring him belting out a medley of his biggest hits including ‘My Boo’, ‘OMG’ and ‘Yeah!’
He has now told the Wall Street Journal the show was “one of the hardest 15 minutes that I’ll ever have in my life” – and revealed he had to work out every day to execute the show the way he wanted.
Father-of-four Usher – born Usher Raymond IV – said: “I didn’t really have the time to do a lot of other things.
“I was remedying my body the night before and waking up the next day and eating a very regimented, low-carb diet.”
Usher also used the interview to reveal how he loves to eat eggs for breakfast – but not before he warms up his body with exposure to sunlight or by taking exercise.
He said he’s a fan of “sitting in the sun” in general as well as of raising his body’s “natural heat levels” first thing in the morning.
Usher added: “Typically I wake up and drink celery juice. I’ve been doing this concoction of lemon, ginger, water and cayenne pepper. I drink it hot.
“I try to wake up early enough to have a moment of reflection. Some days I may grab a book and read to stimulate my mind. I may sit quietly and meditate.
“One thing that is a frequent practice is yoga. It really does help to activate my organs and get my mind moving in the right direction.”
Usher added he occasionally likes to eat scrambled eggs with cheese for breakfast, but generally likes his eggs “poached or over easy”.
His exercises usually start with “walking or certain knee activations”, and he added: “I’ve had minor surgeries on my knee – I had a torn meniscus.
“Other than that, swimming is a really good thing to get me going and bike riding.
“Weight lifting… don’t do a lot of that.”

The 32-year-old model – who is the daughter of Sir Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall – has confirmed via social media that she’s expecting her first child with her boyfriend Cambryan Sedlick.
Alongside a series of pictures of her growing baby bump, she wrote on Instagram: “Patiently waiting for our new best friend @cambryans (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Costner’s life was transformed when he “listened to [his] heart”.
The 69-year-old actor studied at California State University, Fullerton in the 1970s, but a change in attitude triggered a dramatic change in his fortunes.
Speaking to PEOPLE, the Hollywood star explained: “The confidence came when I listened to my heart, right at the very end of college where I thought, ‘I’m not going to be worried about what people think anymore’.
“There was no guarantee of success, but a huge weight came off my shoulders. I started going into Hollywood every day and I would park my little camper next to a phone booth and kind of sleep in a fetal position. I knew no one.”
Kevin has been though lots of ups and downs in his life. However, the veteran actor doesn’t have any regrets.
He shared: “The gamble is ignoring my heart and ignoring it whispering to me.
“What I can say is I’ve had an amazing life. I’ve been bruised, but I’ve had an amazing life and I’m grateful for that.”

The Hollywood star has reprised the role of Axel Foley, a street-smart police lieutenant from Michigan, for ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’ – but Eddie has confessed that he isn’t as agile as he once was.
The actor – who starred in the original ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ movie back in 1984 – said on ‘Today’: “I did ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ when I was 21, and I’m 63 now.
“Now, I would rather not do any stunts. We were shooting something and the director said, ‘I want you to come out of this place and run down those steps.’ After we shot and he’s like, ‘Can you come down with more urgency? Faster?’ And I was like, ‘No!'”
Eddie joked that at this point in his career, he’s not as agile and as fearless as he used to be.
The movie star quipped: “I was like, ‘I’m not doing anything action. Don’t call me unless you offer me the same kind of s*** you would offer Morgan Freeman’.”

The 43-year-old singer is expecting her first child with rapper Nelly, and Ashanti admits that she can’t wait to become a mom.
The ‘Rain on Me’ hitmaker – who is engaged to Nelly – told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I was so shocked and happy and emotional. I always dreamed about it.
“I wanted it so, so bad and I just feel like the timing was perfect.”
Nelly, 49, announced their pregnancy news before it was even confirmed by a test result.
Ashanti has confessed to being shocked that he decided to share the news during a joint performance in St. Louis in December.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Ian McKellen is “looking forward to returning to work” after he was rushed to hospital on Monday (17.06.24).
The 85-year-old actor lost his footing and fell off stage while he was performing in ‘Player Kings’ at the Noel Coward Theatre in London – but McKellen has now taken to social media to reveal that he’s on the road to recovery.
He wrote on X: “I want to thank everyone for their kind messages and support. Since the accident, during a performance of Player Kings last night, my injuries have been diagnosed and treated by a series of experts, specialists and nurses working for the National Health Service. To them, of course, I am hugely indebted. They have assured me that my recovery will be complete and speedy and I am looking forward to returning to work.”
The veteran actor was taken to hospital after falling off stage, and the show was subsequently cancelled.
One audience member told the BBC that the incident was “very shocking”.
Sandro Trapani added: “I really hope that he is going to be alright. As far as I saw, he was conscious because he was asking for assistance.”
McKellen – who plays John Falstaff in the production – was in the midst of a fight scene when the incident occurred.
The acclaimed actor cried out in pain after he fell off stage and staff rushed to help him.
McKellen previously admitted that he was relishing the opportunity to star in the production.
He told the BBC earlier this year: “Actors who have taken on the role say it is verbally very challenging – it seems that the role was written for a particular actor and comedian in Shakespeare’s time, so it’s a bit like being given a script for Michael McIntyre.”

The 26-year-old actress has always loved getting dressed up for glitzy occasions, like film premieres and award shows – but Elle acknowledges that she’s often overdressed.
The movie star told Harper’s Bazaar: “I am someone who’s probably always slightly overdressed for the occasion, but I don’t mind it.
“I mean, of course I have sweatpants days, and when I’m going to set, I’m like in those.

The 28-year-old star will perform on Central Park’s Great Lawn on September 28, and Doja is looking forward to the event in New York City.
The ‘Paint The Town Red’ hitmaker shared: “It’s been a few years since I was last on the Global Citizen Festival stage in Paris, and I’m excited to join forces with Global Citizen once again in Central Park this September to drive as much action as we can to make the world a better place.
“We all have a part we can play to help end extreme poverty and stand up for equity. I’m looking forward to being part of this major evening of positive change.”
Global Citizen is on a mission to end extreme poverty, and the festival organisers hope to encourage people to demand change from governments and private sector leaders.
Other big-name performers at the upcoming event include Post Malone and Jelly Roll, while Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman will host the festival.
The 55-year-old actor is already looking forward to the event.
Hugh – who is perhaps best known for playing Wolverine in the ‘X-Men’ film series – said: “As a longtime supporter of Global Citizen and its mission, I am thrilled to be returning as host of the Global Citizen Festival this fall.

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake claimed he had “one martini” after being arrested for driving while intoxicated.
The 43-year-old pop star told his arresting officer that he’d only had one drink, after he was pulled over by the police in Sag Harbor, New York in the early hours of Tuesday (18.06.24).
According to documents seen by PEOPLE, Timberlake told the authorities: “I had one martini and I followed my friends home.”
In the report, it’s claimed that the pop star drove through a stop sign, and that he failed to “keep on the right side of the roadway”.
The arresting officer observed that Timberlake’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy, a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardised field sobriety tests”.
After being taken to a police station, the report was read aloud to Timberlake.
He responded: “No, I’m not doing a chemical test.”
After being read the report two more times, he replied: “I refuse [to take a chemical test].”
The pop star has been charged with one count of driving while intoxicated. He’s also received two citations – one for running a stop sign and another for failure to keep in lane.
Timberlake has now been released, after he was held overnight for arraignment. The award-winning star is due back in court on July 26.
Timberlake enjoyed a a meal with friends in The Hamptons before he was a arrested.
A source told DailyMail.com: “Justin was out to dinner with friends and there were cop cars stationed outside the restaurant, like there are most nights.
“They look for people who are leaving after midnight who might have been drinking.
“Justin left at 12:30am and was pulled over as soon as he left. Nobody was hurt and there was no drama at the scene.”

The 31-year-old singer is preparing to launch her solo career, and she’s created The Jade Room in a bid to connect with her fans.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Jade is one of Little Mix’s most popular stars and is the last to release her solo music.
“She has a cult following of fans and has created this brand just for them.
“As well as her music and videos coming from The Jade Room, she will use it like a club where they can get merchandise and other goodies. It is something that will grow with her as a solo artist.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift bravely extinguished a fire in her New York apartment.
The 34-year-old pop superstar’s friend and ‘Eras Tour’ support act Gracie Abrams, 24, had no idea a candle had fallen over and started a fire inside the ‘All Too Well’ hitmaker’s pad, six months prior to her interview with Billboard, which was published on Tuesday (18.06.24).
Gracie told the outlet: “She was such a legend – I don’t know how at this hour or in our state she knew what to do.
