Serena Williams tried to deposit first $1m in career earnings at drive-thru ATM

OHMYGOSSIP — Serena Williams tried to deposit her first $1 million in career earnings at a drive-thru ATM.
The 42-year-old tennis icon – said to have a net worth of $300 million – is now retired from the game and is busy raising her daughters Olympia, six, and 11-month-old Adira, who she has with her 41-year-old husband Alexis Ohanian.
She said she was never used to having huge amounts of cash in her account at the start of her career as she was simply playing “to win” and didn’t care about racking up earnings or properly handling her money.
She said during an appearance on the latest episode of ‘Hot Ones’ about getting her first $1 million pay cheque: “I never really spent a lot of money. I went through the drive-thru… and the guy was like, ‘Uh, I think you need to come inside for this’, and I was like, ‘Oh, OK’.”
Serena added about her philosophy when it came to money: “I never played for money.
“I played ’cause I loved the sport… I don’t even know if I wanted to play to be the best, I wanted to win.
“So my tax guy, he would be like, ‘You didn’t get your money?’ and I’d be like, ‘Oh, I didn’t get that one in Zurich’, ‘Oh, I forget that one in Moscow’… I was just playing to win, and if I didn’t win, I wasn’t thinking – I was just so angry that I wanted to find a way to get better and win the next time.”
Serena recently told People at the Tribeca Film Festival at the premiere of her new docuseries ‘In the Arena: Serena Williams’ she is able to satisfy her competitive craving away from tennis by challenging herself to be the “best” mother she can to her two children.
She added: “You don’t and I can’t. I have to be the best mom. I have to go to all of Olympia’s things at her school. I literally show up.”
Serena also said she uses running her beauty brand Wyn to stay motivated, declaring: “I invest in women. I invest in people of colour and that is very competitive.”

Travis Kelce cried as Taylor Swift performed gig medley

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Kelce cried as his girlfriend Taylor Swift performed a special medley during her ‘Eras Tour’ show in Amsterdam.
The NFL star, 34, was seen on a fan’s video tearing up as his 34-year-old singer partner performed an acoustic mash-up at the show on Saturday (06.07.24) night.
She started by surprising fans by playing ‘Mary’s Song (Oh My My My)’ from her self-titled 2006 album for the first time in nearly 16 years – before launching into ‘So High School’ from her newest record ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, as well as ‘Everything Has Changed’ from her 2012 record ‘Red’.
Travis was also seen wiping tears from his eyes as Taylor sang the lines: “’Cause all I know is we said hello, And your eyes look like coming home, All I know is a simple name, And everything has changed.”
Seconds later, 28-year-old Brittany Mahomes – wife of Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes, also 28 – walked over to Travis to check he was alright.
But by the end of Taylor’s mash-ups Travis was smiling.
He was also seen cheering when his girlfriend sang: “I’ll by 87, you’ll be 89” – a lyric of hers from 18 years ago that has now taken on new meaning for her, Travis and her fans as his Chiefs shirt number is 87, and Taylor born in 1989.
Travis has been travelling the world to support Taylor on her world tour, and fans were convinced he popped up without telling her at one of her Dublin gigs as she looked so happy and shocked when she spotted him in the crowd.
After the show in Amsterdam, the couple was seen leaving the Johan Cruyff Arena together.
The pair are celebrating the first anniversary of their relationship this month.
They famously met after Travis tried but failed to give the Grammy winner a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it while at her concert in Kansas City in July 2023.
But they started dating last summer, though only took their relationship public when Taylor turned up to support Travis at one of his Chiefs games in September.

Matthew Perry feared to have been swapping drugs prescriptions with fellow addict friends

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Perry is feared to have been swapping drugs prescriptions with fellow addict friends.
The ‘Friends’ star was found dead aged 54 in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in October 2023, with an autopsy revealing he had been killed by “acute effects of ketamine” – and police sources have now said a press conference may be imminent where charges including involuntary manslaughter could be announced in connection with his shock passing.
Page Six added former CIA and FBI special agent Tracy Walder believes he was sharing prescriptions.
She told the outlet: “He could easily have been procuring drugs through friends: ‘If you give me money, I will give you my prescription’… there is a whole market that way.”
The ex-investigator added amid the apparent ongoing police investigation into Matthew’s death: “It’s incredibly sad, I feel sad for Matthew Perry… (but) the people that fed off (his) weakness are problematic – I would love to see some kind of felony conviction for the people that were procuring the drugs for him, something that is going to stick with them for the rest of their lives.”
Marty Singer, the veteran Hollywood attorney who worked with Perry for decades and still works alongside his estate, added to Page Six: “I dealt with Matthew shortly before he died, he seemed completely clean, but I did have a concern when I heard about his use of ketamine.
“Anyone who was involved in the inappropriate utilization of ketamine for Matthew should be prosecuted.”
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed in December Matthew’s death was drug related.
Drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects were listed as other contributing factors in his passing.
At the time, a medical expert speculated to Page Six the actor had “likely” obtained ketamine illegally for “recreational use”.
Even though Matthew was undergoing ketamine treatment for anxiety and depression at the time of his passing, his autopsy report noted “the ketamine in his system at death could not be from that infusion therapy”.

Cara Delevingne is seeing more similarities between herself and her now-sober mum

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne sees more similarities between herself and her now-sober mother Pandora as she gets older.
The 31-year-old supermodel is two years clean after ditching drink and drugs, while her mother, 65, also suffered her addiction issues over the years.
Cara told The Sunday Times about how she’s changed her view of their bond: “I do think the older I get, the more I see how similar me and my mother are. “She has managed to survive through so much. She’s whip smart.
“I think there are really beautiful things about my mother and really sad things too. It makes the whole situation complex.
“When I was younger I talked about it freely because I didn’t really understand it. But it affected me, so I felt like it was my right to talk about it. I feel bad about that.”
Cara added when asked if she follows the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous: “I like meetings, I go to them when I can. Some people would say I don’t go to them enough.
“But I’m doing it my way and it’s working for me. Everyone’s different. You can go in a million times and it doesn’t work, some people go in once and walk out. Some do it who don’t need it.”
In 2023, Cara told Vogue how she had checked herself into rehab after “heartbreaking” images published by DailyMail.com in 2022 gave her a wakeup call showing her looking dishevelled and shoeless.
The model said she ended up reflecting on her mental health and after sparking concern with it and a series of other troubling public appearances.
She told Vogue about how she previously had not been ready to address her demons until she fell into a “bad place”: “I’ve had interventions of a sort, but I wasn’t ready. That’s the problem.
“I hadn’t seen a therapist in three years. I just kind of pushed everyone away, which made me realise how much I was in a bad place.
“I always thought that the work needs to be done when the times are bad, but actually the work needs to be done when they’re good.
“The work needs to be done consistently. It’s never going to be fixed or fully healed but I’m okay with that, and that’s the difference… before I was always into the quick fix of healing, going to a weeklong retreat or to a course for trauma, say, and that helped for a minute, but it didn’t ever really get to the nitty-gritty, the deeper stuff.”

Sir Anthony Hopkins believes politicians are helping send humanity ‘into the swamp’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Anthony Hopkins thinks politicians are helping send humanity “down into the swamp”.
‘The Silence of the Lambs’ actor, 86, reflected on the state of the world after wrapping up filming on his first TV role since Westworld in 2018, playing Emperor Vespasian in 68-year-old filmmaker Roland Emmerich’s lavish Roman empire epic ‘Those About to Die’.
Anthony told The Daily Telegraph: “The world has always been a place of total chaos. Whenever I hear politicians saying, ‘Let me be clear…’, I think: ‘Well, where is the clarity?’
“They say nothing new, on either side. We watch, hypnotised, as they fumble around.
“They’re only human beings, after all. We’re all going down into the swamp. There’s no way out.”
Oscar-winning Anthony was knighted by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1993, but prefers to be addressed as ‘Tony’, and made his remarks in a chat from his mansion in Los Angeles the day after the farcical televised debate between US presidential candidates Joe Biden, 81, and 78-year-old Donald Trump.
He said he did not watch the debate.
The ‘Those About to Die’ series is based on the 1958 book of the same name by late writer Daniel P Mannix, and delves into how Emperor Vespasian sought to restore order to Rome after the city had burnt almost to the ground during Nero’s infamously debauched reign.
The hedonistic emperor slaughtered his mother and is believed to have kicked his pregnant wife Poppaea to death – before he castrated and married a boy who resembled her and took his own life in AD 68.
Vespasian was one of Nero’s former generals and took charge of the empire the following year and began the vast project of rebuilding Rome.
Anthony said there are similarities with the period and our world as Roman rulers used gladiatorial games to distract the masses from the chaos and corruption at the heart of government.
He added: “Bread and circuses, hey? Look this way! It was the same as in today’s political climate, where you have nothing but distractions.
“The movie industry, the red carpet… entertainment, entertainment, entertainment.
“You can get too many films now. Fluff! And you are hooked. It takes you away from the pain of living in political chaos.”

Margot Robbie pregnant with first child with husband Tom Ackerley

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie is pregnant with her first child with husband Tom Ackerley.
The ‘Barbie’ actress, 34, was photographed with an obvious baby bump while boarding a boat during a holiday to Lake Como with her spouse, also 34, and multiple sources have confirmed the couple are set to be parents.
Photos obtained by DailyMail.com on Sunday (07.07.24) showed Margot displaying her small baby belly in a white crop top.
She and Tom met on the set of the World War II drama ‘Suite Française’ in 2013, and married in 2016 before co-producing a string of film projects through their production company LuckyCap Entertainment.
Her pregnancy is a massive turn around from her old views on romance and settling down, with the actress once telling People of how she fell for Tom: “I was the ultimate single gal. The idea of relationships made me want to vomit.
“And then this crept up on me. We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him’.
“And then it happened, and I was like, ‘Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before’.”
She also told the Daily Telegraph about how making sure to see Tom was the secret to keeping their relationship on track: “The most helpful thing I’ve learned from other couples in this industry is that you don’t go more than three weeks without seeing each other.
“Being in a long-distance relationship can be really hard when you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
“It can mess with your head, so the three-week rule is key.”
Margot and Tom keep their relationship largely out of the public glare and didn’t walk the red carpet together until 2017 nearly a year after their wedding.

Dan Reynolds gave up Mormonism as he thinks religion was ‘harmful’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dan Reynolds gave up Mormonism as he came to believe the religion was “harmful”.
The Imagine Dragons rocker, 36, was raised in what he says was a “really conservative” Mormon household and served a two-year Mormon mission in Omaha, Nebraska – but it has been several years since he quit his worship and he’s now spoken out to slam aspects of the church.
He told People: “There’s obviously parts of the Mormon religion that I feel pretty strongly are harmful, especially to our gay youth.
“At times I feel pretty isolated from my family, but I also love them and am close to them and see them, and there’s no animosity there.
“I’m on a different path. I have to love myself enough to follow my truth.”
Dan founded the LOVELOUD Foundation in 2018 in support of the young LGBTQ+ community and added he has “always struggled” with religion.
He added he spent his 20s and early 30s “really angry” at religion, as he felt he’d been “duped” by the Mormon church.
Dan said: “I saw a lot of the harm that came from it for me personally, but it also seemed to work incredibly well for my family, and they’re all healthy, happy individuals.
“As I’ve gotten older, I’m not angry about it anymore. If something works for someone, that’s really wonderful and rare, and I don’t want to mess with it.”
Dan has chosen not to raise the four children he has with his ex-wife Aja Volkman – daughters Arrow, 11, Gia and Coco, 7, and son Valentine, four – in the church, as he does not want to play with how their minds work.
He said: “My greatest goal every day is to not manipulate my kids. I really don’t want to try to tell them what their spiritual path should be.
“I give them my thoughts and obviously try to protect them and take care of them, while also making sure they have freedom and agency to choose whatever they want.”

The ‘Baby’ singer, 30, is said to have landed the mammoth pay cheque for singing more than a dozen of his hits including ‘Love Yourself’ and ‘Peaches’ during a private concert for Anant, the businessman’s fiancée Radhika Merchant and their family and friends at a show in Mumbai on Friday. (05.07.24)
Justin – who already has an estimated net worth of $300 million – posted a series of photos and videos from the gig on his Instagram page on Saturday, including a carousel of snaps of him with the bride and groom-to-be.
Indian reports said he had been paid the massive sum for the show.
The singer was seen in his snaps smiling backstage in a white tank top, sagging black trousers that showed his plaid boxers and a backward baseball cap as he posed with Anant and Radhika, both 29, as well as their loved ones.
A video of Justin’s performance posted on his Instagram showed him holding out his microphone to front-row guest Orhan Awatramani, who danced around while singing along to the Grammy winner’s 2015 hit ‘Where Are Ü Now’.
Justin also shared snaps of him in India enjoying a limousine ride to the venue for his private gig – which looked packed with a few hundred guests – and relaxing in a hotel suite.
Just after his show, Justin jetted home to America to be with his model wife Hailey Bieber, 27, who is pregnant with their first child.

Pop star Anne-Marie reveals sage advice Ed Sheeran gave her about family

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne-Marie “learnt something every day” on tour with Ed Sheeran.
The 33-year-old pop star – who has a newborn daughter called Seven with rapper Slowthai – has revealed the one piece of advice she will always remember from her Grammy-winning ‘2002’ collaborator and former tour buddy about ensuring she never loses contact with family amid the crazy touring cycle.
She was quoted by the Metro as saying: “Ed really championed me so I was really lucky with that friendship. I learnt something from Ed every day that we were together.
I remember that he said to keep in contact with your parents because when you’re on the road, you can get lost in it.
“I always keep that in my mind.”
Ed has two young daughters, Lyra and Jupiter, with his wife Cherry Seaborn.
The former ‘Voice UK’ coach recently opened up about life as a mother and confessed she “weed herself on stage” during her pregnancy.
The ‘Rockabye’ singer spent eight months still touring while she was pregnant, and she admitted there were times it became a struggle.
She told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “It was the most beautiful thing, but it was definitely hard.
“I think I weed myself on stage a couple of times.”
Despite the challenges, she was determined to stay on the road and keep performing as close as possible to her birth.
Anne-Marie – who married rapper Slowthai in July 2022 – was touring just two weeks before Seven was born – and even performed live days before the big day.
She said: “Yeah, I don’t know how I did it. I weirdly had it in my head that I wanted to go against everything that everyone says about pregnant women.
“Most people stay at home because their ankles and back hurt and I just went, ‘F*** that – I am not doing that.’
“I made it my mission to be able to do everything I normally do while pregnant and I managed to do that up until two weeks before when I was like, ‘Get the f****** thing out of me.’ ”
The ‘Don’t Play’ hitmaker has found motherhood to be a “roller-coaster of emotions”.
She added: “It is definitely a roller-coaster of emotions. I am quite emotional anyway as a person, but this has made me extra, extra emotional.”
And while she confessed one key aspect of her new role is the “hardest thing” she’s ever had to do, it’s all worth it for her daughter.
She said: “It is hard. I am breastfeeding and it’s the hardest thing I have ever done. But she is the most beautiful little thing. I never thought I would be a mum.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Wells Adams has quipped that it’s been “five years” since he “conned” Sarah Hyland into being his wife.
The loved-up duo got married in 2022 and marked the fifth anniversary of their engagement over the weekend.
He gushed on Instagram alongside a professional snap of the couple from Honeymoon Island in Fiji: “It’s been 5 years since I conned this woman to spend the rest of her life with me.
Best decision I’ve ever made. I love you so much @sarahhyland. Happy engagement anniversary, darlin.”
‘Modern Family’ star Sarah, 33, previously joked about being a “golf wife” to the 40-year-old TV star.
She told E! News: “I’ve become a golf wife.
“I actually know who the golfers are now. I know the terminology now. We went to the Masters – that was his Christmas present, it wasn’t a compromise. I had so much fun.”
Sarah – who started dating the former ‘Bachelorette’ star in 2017 and became engaged two years later – loves married life .
She shared: “He’s a wonderful, wonderful husband.
“I think he has to compromise – and it has been our entire relationship – of my multiple alarms in the morning.”
And their relationship has been unchanged since they got hitched.
She said: “We were together for so long and went through a pandemic.
“We were engaged for a really long time before we were able to get married, so I think the greatest thing about our marriage is that nothing has changed – other than a woman at a bar seeing his ring.”

Travis Barker applauds Kourtney Kardashian for taking on 5k run

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Barker has applauded Kourtney Kardashian for taking part in a 5k run just months after giving birth to their son Rocky.
The Blink-182 star, 48, launched his own fitness event called ‘Run, Travis Run’ at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on Saturday (06.07.24) and he was joined by his wife, who took part in the event alongside her husband, who completed the 3.1-mile run in just under 20 minutes.
Travis told New York Post column PageSix: “My wife’s a beast! She’s never done this [before]. She thinks I’m crazy because some mornings I’ll wake up and she’ll be like, ‘Where are you going?’ I’m like, ‘I heard there’s a 5K, babe, I’m gonna run it.
“It was really cool to have her be a part of it. It was awesome. It was everything I imagined.”
Travis set up the run to raise funds for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America charity which provides after-school programs for kids across the US.
He added: “For me, it was like, ‘I run every day, so I should just invite people to run with me.’ But I found that it wasn’t that easy. My manager was like, ‘Oh, you actually can’t do that, you have to have permits [at the] venue.’
“So I did all the things and partnered with Mascot [Sports] to bring this event together and it was amazing. “It’s just the best feeling. I love bringing all sorts of people out to run or walk and just come together.”
Travis previously revealed he took up after recovering from severe injuries he sustained in a plane crash back in 2008 because he wanted to prioritise his health and “prove everyone wrong”.
In a statement posted on the run’s website, he explained: “After my accident in 2008 more than 70 per cent of my body was burnt and I was told by doctors that I may never be able to walk or play drums the same again.
“I was never athletic and I never played sports but I immediately had this urge to prove everyone wrong including myself.
“It started off with short walks and then that turned into short runs everyday. I felt this sense of calmness and a rush of dopamine every time I ran. I’ve kept this up for years now, and I always start my day with it. I even run 3 miles everyday before my shows when I’m on tour.”
He went on to add: “This past year I ran my first half marathon and participated in a few 5ks. I loved how everyone from all walks of life ran together and supported one another.
“The running community is massive and it really inspired me to create Run Travis Run as a way to bring like minded people together. I wanna motivate people to get outside and walk or run for a few hours, as well as make healthy decisions and create healthy habits.
“This is what Run Travis Run is built off of and we are just getting started.”

George Michael’s pool house listed on Airbnb

OHMYGOSSIP — George Michael fans can rent his luxury pool house as a holiday home.
The ‘Club Tropicana’ singer passed away at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, in December 2016 and now a one-bedroom property connected to that abode is available on Airbnb for £550 a night.
The listing boasts a swimming pool and stunning gardens and is located near a 10th century church.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “It’s been very popular with fans of the singer who are grateful of the opportunity to experience George’s home first hand.”
George once told talk show host Oprah Winfrey the pool house was “wonderful”.
Meanwhile, it was revealed earlier this year the ‘Careless Whisper’ singer may return to the stage in hologram form.
Documents filed by the star’s Nobby’s Hobbies Holdings firm at Companies House and obtained by MailOnline show George’s estate made £50,000 a day last year and added: “Activity at the group will broaden in the next one to three years to include live public performances.”
George’s Wham! bandmate Andrew Ridgeley admitted last year he’d love to see the group back on stage in an Abba Voyage-style show, but admitted the prospect of using his late friend’s likeness raised “ethical questions”.
He told ‘Newsnight’: “My thinking would be, ‘Fantastic!’ To have Wham! at its pomp, playing live.
“Of course, there are ethical questions. And that decision would be a mutual decision between myself and [George Michael’s] estate, should it ever come to it.
“And I can’t speak for them, I don’t know how they would feel about it. But I think it could be done, and I think it could be done exceptionally well. I’d pay to go and see it!”
George’s ex-manager, David Austin, previously revealed the ‘Freedom’ singer had been in talks to use a hologram replica while he was still alive but the idea was scrapped because the technology wasn’t deemed to be good enough.
Speaking at a screening of the documentary film ‘Freedom Uncut’ in London in June 2022, David responded when asked if a hologram tour was a possibility: “Never. A few years ago, way before all that started happening while George was with us, we were thinking about doing something at the Royal Albert Hall…
“We had an idea that in the middle of ‘Fastlove’, that bit where the rain comes down, we were going to see if we could do a hologram idea in the middle of the RAH which we thought would blow people away.
“We went around and had all these people sort of courting me – they did Tupac , they did this, they did that. I went to look at a load of them and they were s***. They were really, really poor. There were some people who were ahead of the game with it, some who weren’t but it just didn’t work.”

Emma Roberts calls for social media regulation to stamp out Internet trolls

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Roberts believes social media platforms need better regulation to clamp down on Internet trolls.
The 33-year-old actress has dealt with a lot of online hate since she started her career as a child star and claims it’s given her a “thick skin” but she’s convinced companies like Instagram need ask their users to provide identification regulation in a bid to stamp out the culture of anonymous Internet trolling.
She told Variety: “You get these comments that can be rude. So I try not to look at it, because it’s just people want to hate.
“I feel like I’ve dealt with that since I was 12 years old, so I have a thick skin around it. But it just does bum me out. We’ve just cultivated now this hate culture towards celebrities and towards movies and television online. Where it used to be like five people reviewed a movie, and now it’s like you have people that won’t even say what their real name is saying how much they hate something.”
Emma went on to share her idea to lift the veil of anonymity around online comments, adding: “I’m like, ‘At least everyone should have to put their driver’s licence number into their Instagram account, so you’d probably think twice before you said something rude if we had your driver’s license info’.”
The ‘American Horror Story’ star also revealed she grew a thick skin while auditioning as a child actress – and being told she was “too old” for a part at the age of nine has stuck with her all these years.
She explained: “The one that got away in the beginning was [2001 movie] ‘I Am Sam’ which the amazing Dakota Fanning obviously got.
“I came close, but the feedback was, ‘You’re a little on the older side’ and I was nine. To be told you’re on the older side at nine, I was like, ‘There’s my thick skin’. It grew right there.”

Kerry Katona cancels plans for Las Vegas wedding

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona has scrapped plans to marry her fiance Ryan Mahoney in Las Vegas.
The former Atomic Kitten star, 43, has been engaged to fitness trainer Ryan since he popped the question back in 2022 and they had been planning to jet off to Sin City to tie the knot in a low-ket ceremony, but Kerry has now revealed the couple have shelved the idea because her two eldest daughters – Molly, 22, and Lilly-Sue, 21 – want to attend the wedding.
In her column for OK! magazine, she wrote: “Ryan and I were looking to go to Vegas to finally get married but Molly and Lilly said, ‘Don’t you dare do that without us’.
“I told them they’d already been at too many of my weddings!”
However, Kerry decided to take her daughters’ wishes into consideration and she’s now thinking about planning a ceremony in Mexico instead so her kids can be there.
She added: “That [admission from the girls] put those plans [for Las Vegas] on the back-burner, so I think we’re going to Mexico now. I just want somewhere really relaxing, especially after our stressful house move.”
Kerry recently moved into a new house after deciding to “downsize” as her kids are growing up and moving out.
Her eldest daughter Molly, 22, is now living in Dublin where she’s studying drama and Lilly, 21, recently moved in with her grandparents in Ireland leaving just Heidi, 17, Max, 16, and DJ, 10, living at home so Kerry and Ryan decided to move into a smaller house.
In a previous column for OK!, Kerry explained: “I’m really sad to be leaving this house and downsizing but I know it’s for the best – especially for the future and buying my forever home …
“Now that Lilly has gone to Ireland it’s just DJ, Max and Heidi in the house so we don’t need much room any more, especially as Heidi will be leaving once she finishes school.”

Tana Ramsay still feels ‘so much guilt’ over baby loss

OHMYGOSSIP — Gordon Ramsay’s wife still “suffers so much guilt” over her tragic baby loss.
The chef and his spouse Tana were left devastated in 2016 when she miscarried their son Rocky at 20 weeks pregnant and the 49-year-old presenter still questions if there is anything she could have done differently.
She told Lorraine Candy and Trish Halpin on the ‘Postcards from Midlife’ podcast: “I still suffer so much guilt. Did I, should I have known something? Should I have done something differently? It’s one of those things that some days you’re absolutely fine and you can kind of justify it.
“Other days, for some reason, whether it’s because you’re overtired or something triggers you, I can have a day where I just feel really emotional.
“You don’t expect to be holding a baby knowing that they’re not going last more than an hour. That is always gonna be something I can never, never get over.”
Tana – who also has Megan, 26, twins Holly and Jack, 24, Tilly, 22, Oscar, five and Jesse, 18 months, with Gordon – admitted her young children find the loss of the brother they never knew hard to process.
She said: “Even Oscar now, he talks about Rocky, his brother in the sky or his star.
“And he’ll come out with things like ‘I really don’t like him being there. Why can’t he just come here?’ ”
Tana recalled experiencing a particularly powerful wave of grief shortly after Oscar was born because she felt “guilty” she’d been so excited about the new arrival.
She said: “One of the hardest times actually was after I had Oscar, and he must have been about three weeks old. And I had a day where I felt so emotional.
“I think it was the guilt that I didn’t think that I felt enough about Rocky because I’ve been excited with a new baby. And that threw me, and I remember Gordon saying to me, it was always going to hit you like this now, because we’ve been so in this bubble.
“And then suddenly you think, I felt unfair that I hadn’t sort of been thinking enough or sad. You can never know what’s around the corner with grief, and we’ve never had anything like that.”
