Keri Russell explains why she is pleased she met Matthew Rhys later in life

OHMYGOSSIP — Keri Russell is pleased that she met Matthew Rhys later in life.
The 48-year-old actress was initially married to Shane Deary from 2007 until 2014 and has River, 17, and 11-year-old Willa with him but met Matthew, 49, on the set of ‘The Americans’ and loves being able to see their story unfold on-screen in the spy drama series.
Speaking on the ‘Dinner’s on Me’ podcast, she told host Jesse Tyler Ferguson: “I’m really able to enjoy it, you know? And it was such a lark that we got to do that together in that kind of… at that prime of our lives. And, you know, had we met when we were 20, we wouldn’t be together.
“I always say ‘Look how young we f****** look!’
“It was so kind of sexy and spy. And that world was just so languid!
“And it’s obviously fun, as you know, to be a part of something that’s such a success and so beloved.”
The ‘Waitress’ star – who also has eight-year-old son Sam with Matthew – noted, though, that she and her husband differ sometimes in their approach to work even though they are in the same field.
She said: “Matthew is a different type of actor. He loves to work. You know, I say, ‘What are you doing this week?’ And he goes, ‘Oh, I’m gonna go do these play readings,’ whatever. I’m like, ‘Well, do you wanna do that play?’ And he goes, ‘No!’
“He just loves the work of it. He not as precious about every single job.
“I wanna do jobs that I think are really good. That really speak to me, and that I feel like I could do something with. And the truth is, I don’t think I’d be good in everything.”

Billie Eilish recorded most of her new album with her brother Finneas’ FEET in her face

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish made most of her new album with her brother’s feet in her face.
The 22-year-old pop star writes and records her music with elder brother Finneas, 26, and during a joint interview on the ‘First We Feast’ YouTube series, she joked that much of the behind-the-scenes footage of her new record ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ is actually just of his grubby shoes.
Reading from a cue card, Billie asked her brother about “biggest argument” they had had during the production of herrecord, and Finneas replied: “I put my feet up on the desk a lot and Billie is right there.”
With a laugh, Billie explained: “Finneas is always, well, not always, a lot of the time, he is a lot of times barefoot or a lot of the times in very filthy shoes. He’ll put them…this is the situation…I’ll be right next to them. And my face is right there.
“And we filmed so much of the making of the album that almost all of the footage is just his feet. The camera is right there and it’s just his feet!”
In a serious answer to the question, Finneas noted that he learned not to be so “high and mighty” in telling the ‘Lunch’ hitmaker what to do when she was trying to compose new material for the album,.
He said: “I think the longest, biggest argument was during a period of transition in both of our lives when we were both just trying to be honest. To give you credit, I was very high and mighty and telling you you weren’t being honest enough or authentic enough.
” And you were coming up with such beautiful melodies and cool cadences. Then, by the time we had cool lyrics, everything else was done. So I learned a lot from being too ego-centric.”

William Shatner reveals he would do Star Trek reboot – but only for a ‘great deal of money’

OHMYGOSSIP — William Shatner would do a ‘Star Trek’ reboot for a “great deal of money”.
The 93-year-old actor- who looks back on his life and career in the new documentary ‘You Can Call Me Bill’ – is best known for originating the role of Captain James T. Kirk in the cult sci-fi franchise almost six decades ago but admitted while reminiscing on how he got the part in the first place that he would do it all over again if the price was right.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I don’t remember ever auditioning for anything. I went to New York in a play, and it got great notices, and agents came after me.
“I got a call from this guy [Gene] Roddenberry who wanted me to play the captain of the space.
“I loved Leonard [who played Spock], he was a brother to me. Leonard Nimoy. So, I had a great deal of affection for him. I loved some of the acting moments that they put the character into. Yes, I could be tempted to [do it again] for a great deal of money.
“I’m so busy now. You don’t understand how busy I am. I’ve got a documentary.”
But the classic television star has never even really watched the show that made him famous, and doesn’t spent much time watching the small screen in the first place.
He said: “I’m gonna tell you something that nobody knows.
“I’ve never seen another ‘Star Trek’ and I’ve seen as few ‘Star Treks’ of the show I was on, I’ve seen as few as possible. I don’t like to look at myself, and I’ve never seen any other. I love it, I think it’s great, I just don’t, you know, I don’t watch television per se.
“I’m watching documentaries, I’m watching the news, I’m watching sports, I’m watching things that were, documentaries that were made but I don’t watch television for some reason. I’ve been urged to watch certain shows by my family, ‘You’ll love this,’ and I just never get around to it.”

Sharon Stone lost $18 million after her stroke: ‘People took advantage…I had zero money…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sharon Stone lost millions when she suffered a stroke.
The 66-year-old actress had put away a total of $18 million from her lengthy career in film when she suffered a brain hemorrhage but revealed that when she recovered from the near-fatal ordeal, she was left with nothing.
Asked if the stroke had changed the way she thought, she told The Hollywood Reporter: “Totally. One hundred percent. A Buddhist monk told me that I had been reincarnated into my same body. I had a death experience and then they brought me back. I bled into my brain for nine days, so my brain was shoved to the front of my face. It wasn’t positioned in my head where it was before. And while that was happening, everything changed. My sense of smell, my sight, my touch. I couldn’t read for a couple of years. Things were stretched and I was seeing color patterns. A lot of people thought I was going to die.
“People took advantage of me over that time. I had $18 million saved because of all my success, but when I got back into my bank account, it was all gone. My refrigerator, my phone — everything was in other people’s names.
“I had zero money.”
The ‘Basic Instinct’ star – who returned to acting in the late 2000s and has also carved out a second career as a painter – had to learn to “let go” of things and remain in the moment rather than cling onto any feelings of resentment
She said: “I decided to stay present and let go. I decided not to hang onto being sick or to any bitterness or anger. If you bite into the seed of bitterness, it never leaves you. But if you hold faith, even if that faith is the size of a mustard seed, you will survive. So, I live for joy now. I live for purpose.”

Tish Cyrus reveals why she went to therapy with Dominic Purcell just weeks after they met

OHMYGOSSIP — Tish Cyrus went to therapy with Dominic Purcell just two weeks after she met him.
The 57-year-old producer split from country star Billy Ray Cyrus, 62, in 2022 after almost three decades of marriage and then tied the knot with Dominic, 54, in August last year but revealed that she joined him in his usual counselling sessions very early on in their relationship.
Speaking on her ‘Sorry We’re Stoned’ podcast, she said: “He was just so different in every aspect of the relationship that I had been in. As a matter of fact, in the first week that we met, he had told me that he does therapy once a month, and he has for like, 20 years. I went to therapy with him. It was so cool. Like, two weeks in.”
Tish – who is mother to ‘Flowers’ hitmaker Miley, 30, and Noah, 24, with Billy Ray but also has Brandi, 37, and Trace, 35, from her first marriage to Baxter Neal Helson – also noted that she was left shocked when Dominic told her he had no intention of “pushing” her into anything romantic so soon after her divorce.
Tish – who hosts the podcast with her eldest daughter – said: “One of the first things he said in therapy was, ‘I just want to make sure that I’m not pushing Tish too fast into a new relationship. She’s just gone through a divorce and I want to really learn how to walk her through that in the best way possible.’ And I was just like, ‘Whoa,’.
“After a month, when we really knew it was something great, he was like, ‘The only thing I want to do is feel like this is my chance to be the best version of myself. Not only for you, for my children, for everyone I’ve never seen anybody work on themselves so much.”
“Anyway, Dom’s awesome. He’s great. He’s just really stepped up and shown up and done it all right

The 63-year-old broadcaster – who tied the knot with massage therapist Amber Laign, 48, last summer after almost 20 years of dating – had been fronting the ABC news programme ‘Good Morning America’ for nearly a decade when she decided to announce her sexuality to the world in 2013 but admitted that she had been hesitant to do so because she was also known for her religious beliefs.
Speaking on the ‘The Jamie Kern Lima Show’ podcast, she said: “I would walk down the street with Amber, and if somebody saw us, I would introduce her. I wasn’t trying to hide but yet, I wasn’t ready to, to fully… And part of it is, and I’ve never said this before, part of it is because of my Christianity.
“I was afraid that people, they think you can’t be gay and a Christian. And I am. I am and I was so fearful that I would be shunned.”
But Robin now thinks about all the “wasted years” that she spent worrying about what others thought of her and now feels “so grateful” for what she has in her life.

Dame Shirley Bassey so nervous she ‘grabbed’ King Charles

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Shirley Bassey was so nervous when she picked up an honour from King Charles, she “forgot to curtsy”.
The 87-year-old singer was made a Companion of Honour by the monarch at Windsor Castle on Tuesday (09.07.24) and she admitted she was more scared of accepting the accolade – which has previously been awarded to the likes of Sir David Attenborough and J.K. Rowling – than she’s been about singing for the royal family.
She told reporters: “I think it’s more nerve-racking to receive the award from him than to sing in front of him. I mean, it’s new, different, whereas singing I’ve been doing since I was a child.
“I forgot to curtsy, but that’s why I grabbed his hands because I forgot to curtsy. Instinctive.”
The ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ singer – who was joined at the ceremony by her daughter Sharon, grandson Sebastian and great-granddaughter Sofia – was aware she “shouldn’t” have broken protocol.
She said: “I asked how he was, and he said he was fine and said, ‘You look wonderful.’
“He wished me all the best and then I grabbed him – I know I shouldn’t have done that. But I grabbed both his hands and said, ‘I wish you well’.”
Shirley believes the most glamorous moment of her life was the first time she sang for the late Queen Elizabeth at the Royal Variety Performance.
She said: “I’ve had 70 years of glamorous moments.
“I think the first time I sang for the Queen at the Royal Variety – my very first show. And then I did quite a few after and was very blase about it.”
Shirley – who received her damehood in 1999 – previously admitted she had been “truly humbled” to be awarded the Companion of Honour.
She said: “Receiving the Order of the Companions of Honour is just one of the most wonderful feelings. Music has been a constant companion in my life.
“As a little girl growing up in Tiger Bay, I would dream of travelling the world and never imagined that one day my voice would take me to where I am now.
“Entertaining audiences for over 70 years has been a privilege. My heart is full of emotion and I am truly humbled.”

Lena Dunham is ‘protective’ of pal Taylor Swift

She told the New Yorker: “I’m always very careful to be protective of her in every single way.
“Probably the two things I get asked most in life are ‘What is Taylor like?’ and ‘Can I have tickets to the Eras Tour?’ And usually my answer to both things is no, but I will say that she’s everything that you would want her to be.”
Lena then spilled: “She’s kind, she’s devoted, she’s introspective, she’s emotional, she’s funny as f***. I guess my feeling sometimes is, ‘Isn’t she giving us enough, guys?’”
The actress, whose romance with the studio wizard inspired Taylor’s 2015 tune ‘You Are in Love’, says she has a “deep connection to her music”.
She explained: “Even since before Taylor and I were friends, I just always had felt such a deep connection to her music—something unique to only me, obviously.
“I’ve seen every tour she’s ever done.
“I love seeing a woman who’s not yet forty being, like, ‘Yes, I have a body of work.’ What I find inspiring is her acknowledgment of her own prolific expression.”
As for her favourite Taylor era, she said: “Reputation is my favorite Taylor era.
“Because it’s so much about ‘If you’re not going to see me, if you’re going to so refuse to understand what’s in front of you and what I’m trying to say, then why don’t I just put on a black catsuit and move it all the way over to villain mode?’”

The 66-year-old star discusses the end of her long-running programme, ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, which ran for a decade from 2003 until 2022, but was marred by accusations of toxic behaviour by several executives in 2020, who were subsequently let go.

Ellen then suggested she will be “kicked out for being old next”.
She grinned: “Old, gay and mean—the triple crown.”

“The ‘be kind’ girl wasn’t kind. That was the headline.”

He told Big Issue magazine: “Even if you truly weren’t any good at your craft, if you believed you were, you could work on it.
“As I got older I realized that was a great gift that I got from my folks.
“They truly believed in the John Kennedy mantra of going to the moon. ‘Yeah, of course you can go to the moon. Just go, Johnny.’ And there I went.
“They were always supportive of me, which in retrospect, was incredible. Because I could get home at one or two in the morning, and have to still be in school by eight o’clock. They just said, show up on time for school, you know that is your responsibility, but pursue your dream.”

Daisy Edgar-Jones ‘genuinely scared’ during tornado chase

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Edgar-Jones felt “genuinely scared” when she went out with a crew of tornado chasers.
The ‘Normal People’ star plays a meteorologist in new action movie ‘Twisters’ – the sequel to 1996 disaster flick ‘Twisters’ which starred Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt – and after filming she got in contact with some real life storm chasers she met during the shoot and asked them if they would take her with them – so they took Daisy on a hunt for a storm cell blowing between Kansas to Oklahoma City.
The actress admitted the experience was actually very scary, telling Variety: “I was desperate to see one [a tornado] …
“I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m genuinely scared, but also exhilarated’ … I was like, I can see now why people do it. What a rush – all that planning for one moment of madness.”
She also came close to seeing a tornado while she was filming the movie – revealing bad weather hit while she was shooting a scene with co-star Glen Powell and the set got shut down because of a tornado warning.
Daisy added to the publication: “There’s a scene where Glen and I are looking for a tornado in the distance, and a ‘mothership’. or mesocyclone cloud, formed behind us.
“We looked like two of the most idiotic storm chasers, because we were like, ‘Where is it?’ and it was literally just there. We all had to leave, and it produced a tornado.”
Director Lee Isaac Chung left to go chase after the storm but the actors had to stay behind. Daisy added: “Isaac actually went out chasing and saw it. We weren’t allowed to for insurance reasons.”
Daisy added that another episode of bad weather tore down a set which was due to be destroyed by wind anyway.
She explained: “One day, we were filming this scene where a tornado rips through a farmers market, and they made this amazing set full of these stalls.
“And this crazy windstorm came in and took the entire set out.
“We were hunkered down in the shops nearby, watching the whole set be destroyed, only for us to then film it being destroyed 20 minutes later when they set it back up again.”

Donald Sutherland ‘to be remembered at Miami funeral’

OHMYGOSSIP — Donald Sutherland will reportedly be remembered by friends and family at a funeral in Miami, Florida.
The Hollywood veteran died on June 20 at the age of 88 and it’s now been revealed a cremation took place at the Van Orsdel Crematory in Miami shortly after his death ahead of a planned funeral in the city, according to a death certificate reviewed by DailyMail.com.
No more details have been made available, but previous reports had suggested the actor’s funeral may take place in his native Canada.
Donald’s death was announced last month by his actor son Kiefer Sutherland, who remembered his dad in a poignant message posted on X, previously known as Twitter.
He wrote: “With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film.
“Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.”
The ’24’ star – whose mum is Donald’s ex-wife Shirley Douglas – also revealed how much his dad had helped him succeed in showbusiness.
He told The Times newspaper: “Me and my dad really got to know each other after I left home at 15.
“My parents split when I was three and my mum, sister and I moved to Canada, so I didn’t live with my dad. I would see him at Christmas and for a couple of weeks in the summer.
“I certainly did see him, but it was really relegated to around holidays. I have to believe that having the same surname as my dad has helped me at times.
“There must have been moments where people who were friendly with my dad leant towards helping me. But I know of two specific instances where someone was not friendly with my dad and I sat in the office for four hours and never got the meeting.”

Paul Walter Hauser apologises for ‘needlessly mean-spirited’ Vin Diesel comments

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Walter Hauser has apologised for his “needlessly mean-spirited” comments about Vin Diesel.
The 37-year-old actor took a swipe at the ‘Fast and the Furious’ actor – who he has never met – a few weeks ago for allegedly behaving unprofessionally on set, but he’s now admitted he should never have “shot [his] mouth off” and behaved unfairly towards a fellow professional.
However, the ‘Black Bird’ star seemingly stood by the content of his remarks as he didn’t backtrack on what he had said.
He wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram: “A few weeks back, I made a random comment about Vin Diesel. It started somewhat humorous, but unraveled into me dogging him out over behavior I had heard about on multiple occasions from multiple sources.
“I had done a night shoot on a Friday, gotten 1 hour of sleep, and then flew to LA from ATL at 6am to do a full day of press for Inside Out 2. I was exhausted and, in my fatigued state, I shot my mouth off and made a careless, needlessly mean-spirited, comment. That comment was recorded and then went viral.
“Just here to say that I am sorry for having made that comment. I do indeed get riled up by some of the behavior I’ve witnessed, or heard about, and “outing” people to any extent can feel momentarily satiating.
“I no longer feel that way and am genuinely sorry for shooting my mouth off and not showing love to Vin, who I do not know and have never met. It isn’t fair of me to make judgments of that kind, and even if some of those things turned out to be true, it is mean to shout them out and playfully attack someone.(sic)”
Paul further reflected on his own behaviour and offered a direct apology to Vin.
He wrote: “As a self-professed Christian, I need to do a better job of loving people and not trying to “right a wrong”, or allow my ego to posture itself with some sort of verbal flex. It just isn’t additive to our culture, and it can hurt other people.
“@vindiesel – I apologize. Thank you for entertaining so many people and making them happy. I’m trying to do the same.
“Time for me to be quiet. I sometimes talk myself into idiocy.(sic)”
Paul’s original comments came when he was left unimpressed when an interviewer compared his ‘Inside Out 2’ character Embarrassment to Groot, who is voiced by Vin in the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ films.
The CinemaBlend reporter said: “You’re like Vin Diesel now.”
The ‘Cruella’ actor replied: “Please don’t say that. I like to think I’m on time. And approachable.
“I love people but when I hear stories about Hollywood actors who get paid really well and mistreat people, I out them constantly. And it’s a blast.”

Queen Camilla mocked over ‘obsession’ with weather apps

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Camilla has an “obsession” with the weather.
The 76-year-old royal – who is married to King Charles – admitted her family often tease her about her interest in apps that tell her if it is sunny or raining in other countries during a conversation with children’s author Francesca Simon at an event to mark the National Literacy Trust’s 30th anniversary at Clarence House on Tuesday (09.07.24).
The ‘Horrid Henry’ author told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “We were laughing about our mutual love of weather apps.
“She mentioned it was raining in France, where I’m meant to be today, and I said, ‘Yeah, I know’.
“She said everybody teases her, because I’m also looking at weather in various parts of the world, and she’s the same – so we were laughing at our mutual obsession.”
The reception, which had been due to take place in the gardens but was moved indoors due to the rain, saw authors and volunteers for the National Literacy Trust come together, and Francesca praised the queen for her “invaluable” support for the charity.
She said: “She turns up and puts her passion for reading, which is very genuine, behind it – so it’s really fun to have that kind of commitment that’s much more than skin deep.”
Axel Scheffler, who illustrates Julia Donaldson’s books, including ‘The Gruffalo’, also praised Camilla’s work with the charity as “immensely important”.
He added: “I know she’s read The Gruffalo to her grandchildren.”
During her speech to those at the reception, the queen expressed her hope that illiteracy will be a “thing of the past” in the next 30 years.
She said: “A huge thank you to you all. You all do a brilliant job. I hope the next 30 years will achieve something that makes illiteracy a relic of the past. Thank you so, so much for all you do.”
