King Charles and Queen Camilla announce a visit to Australia later this year with a new portrait

OHMYGOSSIP — King Charles and Queen Camilla will visit Australia later this year.
The 75-year-old monarch is currently undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer but will travel to the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales during the visit, with a new portrait of him and his wife released on Sunday (14.07.24) to mark the announcement.
In a statement, the Australian government said: “In the official portraits, The King wears The Sovereign’s Badge of the Order of Australia, while The Queen wears the Wattle Brooch which was gifted to Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to Australia in 1954
Buckingham Palace said Charles and Camilla would attend the commonwealth heads of government meeting (Chogm) in Samoa, which is scheduled to take place from 21-25 October.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said: “I am honoured to welcome The King and Queen on their first Royal Visit to Australia later this year, they are always welcome visitors. The King has a deep regard for our great nation, and has always spoken warmly of the time he has spent here and the astounding beauty of our extraordinary continent.
“I look forward to welcoming The King and Queen back to Australia for this important visit.”
The visit will mark the first time a reigning monarch and spouse have visited Australia since 2011, when Queen Elizabeth – who died in 2022 after a 70-year reign – went on a tour over the country with her late husband Prince Philip over the course of 10 days.
However, the King – who returned to public duties in April after taking a break for treatment in January – will not visit New Zealand on medical advice.
Buckingham Palace said: “The king’s doctors have advised that such an extended programme should be avoided at this time, to prioritise his majesty’s continued recovery.”

Rose McGowan reveals ‘dark forces’ tried to pit her against late Charmed co-star Shannen Doherty

OHMYGOSSIP — Rose McGowan has recalled how “dark forces” tried to pit her against late ‘Charmed’ co-star Shannen Doherty.
The 53-year-old actress – who played Prue Halliwell on the hit CW show – devastatingly lost her lengthy battle with stage four breast cancer on Saturday (13.07.24), and her co-star on the supernatural drama series has hailed her “inspiring until the end” in an emotional tribute.
Rose, 50, further explained how their “lives had been intertwined in a unique way” and insisted they always “chose love and respect” when “dark forces” wanted to cause friction between them.
Alongside a montage of pictures of the pair, Rose, who portrayed her half-sister Paige Matthews on the programme, wrote on Instagram: “Shannen Doherty had the heart of a lion. Passion for craft is often mislabeled as trouble. Shannen was passion. I met her in the 90s and was awed. Getting to really know her later in life, a beautiful gift. This woman fought to live. Shannen knew how to be a star because she was one since childhood. Her work ethic inspiring to the end. Shannen’s great love for directing, for acting, Holly, her friends, her parents, dog and her beloved fans was legendary. Our lives had been intertwined in a unique way. We laughed at dark forces who wanted us to hate each other, instead we chose love and respect. A soft-hearted badass as there ever was. A force of energy that will live forever in hearts. May angels and God carry her to the holy kingdom where she is healthy, young and wild forever. Rest now warrior, we will never forget you dear sister. (sic)”
Their co-star, Alyssa Milano, said she was “in awe” of Shannen – despite their “complicated relationship”.
Despite the pair having endured a frosty relationship, which led to their late co-star eventually leaving the show after season three, the 51-year-old actress, who played the third eldest sister, Phoebe Halliwell, insisted she “deeply respected” her despite their feud.
She told Us Weekly: “It’s no secret that Shannen and I had a complicated relationship, but at its core was someone I deeply respected and was in awe of.
“She was a talented actress, beloved by many and the world is less without her. My condolences to all who loved her.”

The pair “always knew” they wanted to get married in Italy.
Nina told Vogue magazine: “We always knew we wanted to get married in Italy because going there was the first trip we ever took together.”
But after months of planning, the original ceremony was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then after rescheduling for 2021, a “family loss” meant they pushed things back again.
Jay said: ” At the time, Italy was one of the hardest hit areas in the world, on a strict lockdown and closed to tourists. Like everyone else in the world, we weren’t sure how widespread it would be or how long any of it would last, so we had to cancel everything.”
Nina added: “As the world slowly started to open up in 2021, we had a family loss that caused us to be away from home for about eight or nine months which resulted in our having to change our plans again. And we finally landed on July 9, 2022.”

Writing in her new! magazine column , she said: “Ryan and I have jetted off to Spain for 10 days, just the two of us. We’re going on a family holiday soon too, and I can’t wait.

The former Atomic Kitten singer is seven years older than her partner and noted that while she has never been the older one in the relationship, she always felt like the more mature one and wondered why women sometimes “get more backlash” for dating someone younger.
She said: “Until Ryan, I’d never been in a relationship with anyone younger than me – maybe the odd date, but I found them immature, so it’s more about the person rather than a number. Sometimes I think women get more backlash than men if they’re dating someone younger. Why is it so different for us?”

Wiz Khalifa charged after smoking cannabis on stage in Romania

OHMYGOSSIP — Wiz Khalifa was arrested and charged with illegal drug possession over the weekend.
The 36-year-old rapper – whose real name is Cameron Thomaz – was allegedly found with cannabis in his possession in the early hours of Sunday (14.07.24) morning after smoking the drug on stage at the Beach, Please! festival in Costinesti.
Local anti-organised crime prosecutors organisation DIICOT said in a statement: “During a recital held during a music festival held in the Costinești resort, Constanța county, [Khalifa] possessed over 18 grams of cannabis (risk drug) and consumed (onstage) another amount of cannabis under the shape of a craft cigarette.
“We make it clear that, during the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence.”
The ‘See You Again’ hitmaker was later released from custody and apologised for smoking on stage, insisting he didn’t mean any “disrespect”.
He wrote on X: “Last nights show was amazing.
“I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big a** joint next time.”
Wiz recently admitted his 11-year-old son Sebastian’s teachers “expect” him to attend meeting at school while stoned and is “pretty sure” his boy – who he has with ex-wife Amber Rose – “smells” of the drug.
Asked if he ever goes to parent/teacher conferences while high, the ‘Black and Yellow’ hitmaker – whose girlfriend Aimee Aguilar is pregnant with a baby girl – told Alex Cooper on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast: “Hell yeah. I’m pulling up stoned. They expect it.
“They know what’s up. It’s not like back in the day [where] you’re considered a bad parent if you smoke weed. I’m pretty sure my son smells like weed.
“I don’t know because I can’t smell it but I’m pretty sure he smells like pot.
“And yeah I’m pulling up stoned, I’m pulling up high because I want them to connect with the real me. They’re not going to get a fake version of me or this made-up parent that society makes you think that you’re supposed to be.”

Donald Trump hopes shooting can ‘bring the country’ together

OHMYGOSSIP — Donald Trump hopes the assassination attempt on his life can “bring the country together”.
The 76-year-old US presidential candidate was shot by Thomas Matthew Crooks – who was subsequently killed by Secret Service agents – at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday (13.07.24) and while he had planned to attack his rival, President Joe Biden, when he addressed the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee this week, he’s now going to deliver a “whole different speech”.
He told the Washington Examiner newspaper: “The speech I was going to give on Thursday was going to be a humdinger.
“Had this not happened, this would’ve been one of the most incredible speeches. Honestly, it’s going to be a whole different speech now.
“It is a chance to bring the country together. I was given that chance…
“This is a chance to bring the whole country, even the whole world, together. The speech will be a lot different, a lot different than it would’ve been two days ago.”
The former ‘Apprentice’ star explained he had changed from planning to attack Biden’s policies and excite his voter base to stressing his belief the attack has completely changed the course of the election campaign.
Trump believed he was saved from death because he turned away from the crowd to look at a screen showing data he was using in his speech at the rally.
He said: “That reality is just setting in.
“I rarely look away from the crowd. Had I not done that in that moment, well, we would not be talking today, would we?”
After being shot, the Republican candidate raised his hand while being led off stage because he wanted to let people know he was OK.
He added: “And that America goes on, we go forward, that we are strong.
“The energy coming from the people there in that moment, they just stood there; it’s hard to describe what that felt like, but I knew the world was looking. I knew that history would judge this, and I knew I had to let them know we are OK.”
The shocking incident saw former fire chief Corey Comperatore shot dead and two other supporters, David Dutch and James Copenhaver, injured. They are currently in a stable condition in hospital.

Kathy Bates speaks out on ‘ageism’ in Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Kathy Bates believes there is “a lot of ageism” in Hollywood.
The 76-year-old actress is now starring as lawyer Madeline Matlock in the reboot of the 1980s legal drama series – in which Andy Griffith took on the title role of Ben Matlock – and explained that she never expected to get such a part at this stage in her career but because of how society views someone of her age in the industry.
During a Q+A session with her ‘Matlock’ co-stars in Pasadena, California, she explained: “A woman my age would never have such a role, ever. The complexity; the writing. A lot of ageism exists, and I’ve only been interested in doing the best work I can possibly do.”
The ‘Titanic’ star enjoyed success in the theatre early on in her career but made her the move into cinema relatively late and had appeared in minor roles in films such as ‘My Best Friend Is A Vampire’ and ‘Dick Tracy’ by the time she won an Academy Award for her role as psychopathic nurse Annie Wilkes in the 1990 thriller ‘Misery’.
In recent years, Kathy has undergone a body transformation and explained that losing 60lbs was after realising that there was a history of diabetes in her family and her success came from recognising when she was actually full.
She told Extra: “I was facing diabetes — it runs in my family — and I really didn’t want to live with that.
“After you eat for 20-30 minutes, you experience an involuntary sigh. It’s communication between stomach and brain telling you you had enough… and what I discovered is if you listen to that sigh and push that plate away for just five minutes, you realize you’re satisfied and you don’t have to eat more.”

Peter Andre speaks out on his an age-gap relationship as he insists that ‘love’ is all that matters

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Andre has insisted that age doesn’t matter in a relationship.
The 51-year-old pop star has been married to Dr Emily Andre, 34, since 2015 and has Amelia, 10, Theo, seven, and three month Arabella with her but after learning that former Hear’Say singer Kym Marsh, 48, is now dating a 29-year-old, has admitted that “compatibility” is the most important thing between two people.
Writing in his new! magazine column, he said: “I saw that Kym Marsh is dating someone a bit younger and she’s copped a lot of criticism. It’s how they are with each other and how they feel about each other that counts. There are 16 years between Emily and I, but for us, it works. If they’re in love, then good for them. People may have their own views but there are so many positives when you find a compatible partner.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker – who also has Junior, 19, and 16-year-old Princess with ex-wife Katie Price – also sent his well-wishes to ‘Barbie’ star and fellow Australian Margot Robbie, after the news broke that she and husband Tom Acklerey are expecting their first baby together.

He added: “Apart from being a great actor, she’s a fellow Gold Coaster and I’ve loved watching how much she’s achieved in her career. She has her work, a lovely life and now a baby on the way.”

Halyna Hutchins’ family vow to ‘pursue justice’ following dismissal of Alec Baldwin criminal case

OHMYGOSSIP — Halyna Hutchins’ family have vowed to continue to “pursue justice” after Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter case was dismissed.
The 66-year-old actor was stunned on Friday (12.07.24) when judge Mary Marlowe Sommer threw out the case after his legal team argued prosecutors had hidden evidence relating to the death of the cinematographer, who was fatally shot on the set of ‘Rust’ in 2021, and now Gloria Allred – a lawyer representing Olga Solovey, Anatolii Androsovych, and Svetlana Zemko in a civil case – has admitted she “respectfully disagrees” with the ruling.
According to CBS News, Gloria said: “The dismissal only strengthens our resolve to pursue justice in the civil case that we have filed against him in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
“[The news was] devastating to the family in Ukraine who mourn [Halyna’s] loss every day.”
She added the family plan to “fight to the end” and she is “dedicated” to holding the former ’30 Rock’ star and the “entire Rust production accountable” in the civil lawsuit, which she noted was “not affected by the decision of the court yesterday in the criminal case.”
She added: “Our case is important, because we believe that everyone — yes, even celebrities like Alec Baldwin and producers — should follow accepted safety protocols so that all crew members have a safe workplace.”
The dismissal last week means Alec can no longer face involuntary manslaughter charges over Halyna’s death, but he will still face the civil suit.
However, the ‘Boss Baby’ star has previously requested the “especially misguided” suit be dismissed as he argued the plaintiffs, the cinematographer’s parents and sister, had been “distanced from Halyna physically, financially and emotionally for years before her death” and had “no viable cause of action against Defendants.”
The civil lawsuit doesn’t include Halyna’s widower, Matthew Hutchins, who previously settled a wrongful death lawsuit and insisted he felt his wife’s passing was due to a “terrible accident”.
He added that he had “no interest in engaging in recriminations or attribution of blame (to the producers or Mr. Baldwin).”

Katie Price ‘genuinely’ thought carjackers would kill her

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price “genuinely” thought she and her children would be killed during a terrifying carjacking ordeal.
The former glamour model was held at gunpoint and sexually assaulted in South Africa in 2018 while filming her reality show ‘My Crazy Life’ and while her memories of the incident are a “horrible blur”, she recalled desperately trying to shield herself with a pillow to avoid being shot.
In an extract from her new memoir ‘This Is Me’ shared by MailOnline’s Mail+, Katie – who was with her children Junior, now 19, and Princess, now 17, on the trip – wrote: “My memory is a bit fuzzy with it all, if I’m honest. It happened so quickly, but at the time it seemed like it went on for ever. It was surreal. I kept thinking, ‘Is this happening? Is this actually happening? Am I dreaming?’
“I could make out two men, who I now know to be hijackers, trying to get into the other car, where the film crew were, while the rest of them were around our car. I tried to shout to the film crew to come help us. But no one did. No one could.
“It was terrifying — the kids were screaming and I kept saying to them, ‘Don’t worry, you’re fine, you’re fine. Everything will be OK.’ But I was absolutely petrified. I genuinely thought we were all going to die.
“The next few minutes are all a horrible blur. They managed to get in my door. Their hands were all over me, and in me and down in my trousers. I just kept saying, ‘Get off me, get off me! I’ve got nothing!’ But they took everything, all the jewellery I had and my watch.
“I saw some of the men try to go to the back of the car. Princess’s door wasn’t shut and I knew I wouldn’t let these men near my kids. I screamed bloody murder.
“Next thing I remember is trying to find the keys to start the car and then I had the keys, but my hands were shaking so much I couldn’t get them in the ignition.
“And then it was too late. The hijackers saw what I was doing and quickly snatched the keys off me. I always take a pillow with me and I put it up to my head thinking they were going to shoot me. I was waiting for them to shoot me through the pillow.”
Katie’s old school friend, Neil Tawse, was on the trip with her and he was beaten so badly by the carjackers, he still has problems with his vision.
She recalled: “I can remember the look on Neil’s face. He got out of the car and said to the men, ‘Right, come on then. If you f***ing want it, have it!’
“And he started trying to beat them up. But there were so many of them.
“They started beating Neil. It was horrible. He managed to wrestle the keys back off them and get in the car but then they whacked him, I think with the butt of a gun. It was brutal and suddenly there was blood everywhere.
“Neil was knocked out and the screaming from the rest of us was deafening. The look of complete fear on my kids’ faces is something I won’t ever forget; when you see your children living a horror story and you can’t stop it, it haunts you…
“[Neil] had stitches in his eye and to this day he can’t see properly and has a scar. Neil put his life on the line for us and it’s made our friendship stronger than ever.”

Britney Spears claims she’s ‘single’ and slammed Paul Richard Soliz over paparazzi incident

OHMYGOSSIP — Britney Spears has declared she is “single” – and slammed rumoured boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz over his handling of a paparazzi encounter.
The ‘Toxic’ hitmaker was said to be dating her former housekeeper Paul, 37, who has been widely reported to have an extensive criminal record, though it is not clear whether they are still together.
The pair were said to have been involved in a bust up at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles in May, which led Britney to issue a public denial she had suffered a “breakdown” at the celebrity spot.
And the month prior, Britney and Paul seemingly came to blows over the way he deal with the paparazzi and slammed him for speeding.
The 42-year-old pop star also alleged Paul told his mom he’s “being harassed”.
Taking to her Instagram Story, she raged: “Why was he going 90 in a neighborhood with one pap following only to roll the window down when pap pulls to the side of me???
“When he calls his mom and says he’s being harassed.
“Why did he roll the window down with me crying in the seat???”
She also posted a quote on her Instagram which read: “Her attitude is savage by her heart as gold.”
And in the deleted caption, she said: “Single as f***!!! I will never be with another man as long as I live!!!”

Nicolas Cage is ‘terrified’ about the use of AI

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Cage is “terrified” about being “replaced” by artificial intelligence.
The ‘Dream Scenario’ actor has been digitally scanned for his upcoming role in MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video’s live action ‘Spider-Man Noir’ series, and he is wary about what the process might mean for the future of Hollywood.
Explaining why he had to wind down his interview with The New Yorker magazine, he said: “I have to slip out after this to go get a scan done for the show, and then also for the movie I’m doing after the show. Two scans in one day!”
Asked what that involves, he added: “Well, they have to put me in a computer and match my eye color and change—I don’t know.
“They’re just going to steal my body and do whatever they want with it via digital AI God, I hope not AI I’m terrified of that. I’ve been very vocal about it.”
The 60-year-old star admitted it’s a “scary” prospect, and he is worried about the idea of people using his likeness after he has died.
He added: “It is [scary]. And it makes me wonder, you know, where will the truth of the artists end up?
“Is it going to be replaced? Is it going to be transmogrified? Where’s the heartbeat going to be?
“I mean, what are you going to do with my body and my face when I’m dead? I don’t want you to do anything with it!”
Nicolas suggested while he “used to be in control” of the way he’s presented, he feels like becoming a meme has changed things.
He said: “I don’t think I’m in control of that anymore. And that’s also partly why I responded to the script in ‘Dream Scenario.’
“I mean, my meme-ification is not unlike Paul’s dream-ification. I started very young, and I wanted to make a big noise and create a kind of punk-rock aura around myself.
“I was definitely not going to be a part of the — abhorrent words — Brat Pack. I mean, they didn’t belong in that, either. I thought that was very unfair.
“But I’m not the same person I was when I was fifteen. I’m now sixty. Nonetheless, some of the roles that I’ve gravitated toward have created this mythology, or compounded it.”

John Cena loves making his bed every morning for inspirational reason

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena makes his bed every morning so that he always “starts the day with a complete task”.
The ‘Peacemaker’ actor – who announced his WWE retirement tour over the weekend after two decades in the wrestling world – has opened up about his morning routine, which includes giving himself a sense of accomplishment when he first wakes up.
He told the WJS. Magazine: “On a typical Monday, I rise at 6 to 7am. I love to make the bed.
“I recall a commencement speech by a navy admiral who said that if you want to change the world, make a bed.
“The hidden takeaway there was, give yourself something that you did for the day. Because there are those days when we wake up on the wrong side of the bed.
“I just think, ‘You know, man, I already did this. I already started the day with a complete task.’ ”
Meanwhile, the 47-year-old star revealed he likes to wake up around two hours before he needs to leave the house, even if that means rising at 3am.
Asked how he likes his coffee and breakfast, he said: “I don’t like to rush it. I give myself 90 minutes to two hours from the time I wake up to the time that I need to go to the first location or do the first thing.
“If my pickup is at 6 am, I’ll wake up at 3 to give myself those hours.
“I use that time trying to get my central nervous system going, to review: What are my goals for the day? What’s my purpose?”
Cena also reflected on his iconic wrestling outfit, having wrestled in “jorts” for his entire career – and he insisted there is a good reason for that.
He explained: “The reason I wear jorts is because I’ve tried everything. Denim is really durable — it doesn’t rip a lot as long as you can find a good fit.
“I don’t need any families attending a WWE event looking at my ugly bit. All you need to do is find something that fits around the butt and the thigh, because I always wear a drawstring belt. A belt buckle, you can really get messed up on.’
“I’ve learned this through failure. It can stab you, it can scratch you, it can scrape you and it can also cause damage to opponents and referees. This is not a good piece of equipment.”
