Hoda Kotb’s cancer devastation

OHMYGOSSIP — Hoda Kotb has revealed her devastation after doctors told her that cancer would stop her getting pregnant.
In 2007, the ‘Today’ show presenter underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery for breast cancer and Hoda, now 60, has revealed the bombshell about having children was one of the hardest parts.
Speaking on the ‘Making Space’ podcast, she said: “‘I do remember that even the doctor said to me then, you know, one of the sort of side effects, especially at your age, which was in my 40s, early 40s, is you won’t be able to have children. And I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ So this thing not only put limits on my life, but killed a dream.”
However, Hoda – who went on to adopt daughters Haley, seven and Hope, four, with former fiance Joel Schiffman, 66 – revealed her cancer diagnosis gave her a new lease of life because “the worst had happened”.
She explained: “I remember waking up one morning and saying to myself — it was like a lightning bolt — and it was like, I remember those four words. It was, you can’t scare me because the worst had happened. So now what? Now what am I afraid of? And so not being afraid released me. It made me free, it was amazing.
“Asking for what you deserve is something that you should be able to do without worrying about, ‘Well I’m doing this because maybe I won’t live that long’. We shouldn’t have to have that in order to propel us to ask for what we deserve. Like, why do you have to have a terrible diagnosis before you’re free?”

And, Zoe said working with Channing brought them closer together.
She explained: “I think going through something creative like this with anybody makes you closer and there’s so much trust there.

Brittany Snow insists dad’s Alzheimer’s battle is ‘a gift’

OHMYGOSSIP — Brittany Snow has described her father’s Alzheimer’s battle as “much better of a gift” than a sudden death.
The 38-year-old actress has reflected on her father’s ongoing health struggle, and while it has been difficult since his diagnosis – which happened “a really long time” ago and has drastically changed their relationship – she insisted there are some positives to the disease.
She told Rachel Bilson and Olivia Allen on the ‘Broad Ideas’ podcast: “The gift of grieving it in a slow process has been really beautiful.
“I get to realise what I love about him and appreciate each thing about these tiny little moments that then get lost.
“Although it’s quite sad, it’s so much better of a gift than it happening suddenly.”
Rachel has still been left understandably heartbroken by her father’s battle, noting his disease means there is no more “physical touch” between them, despite once being the “closest” in their family
She added: “There is no home in that way.”
However, she has been helped by connecting with other people who are going through the same situation, and she described it as “beautiful” to see her father become a “different version” of himself.
She explained: “There are so many people who have gone through this and it’s a baffling disease to witness.
“I think it’s really, really interesting and beautiful to get to see someone who is still there, but just a different version of themselves.”
Brittany admitted it’s been tough coming to terms with the changes in her life, partiuclarly after finalising her divorce from ex husband Tyler Stanaland in July 2023 after five years together.
She said: “There’s that need for that man-sort of safety because I don’t have that anymore.
“Trying to still find that within myself and find it through friendships and work relationships and not putting it on a partner either, but still navigating that I still deserve and want a partner. You can make that person your home.”

Speaking to PEOPLE, she said: “I would tell them, do it the way I did it. I had no nepotism. Nobody helped me. I had to learn from the ground up. They would have to do it the same way.
“They would have to go pay their dues, learn a craft, work hard, and make it on their own for themselves. That way it’s always theirs. Nobody takes it away. That’s what they would have to do.”
Meanwhile, Halle revealed she gained “cool points” for introducing her daughter to Mark Wahlberg.

Mia McKenna-Bruce’s unusual proposal

OHMYGOSSIP — Mia McKenna-Bruce’s husband Tom Leach proposed to her with the help of a question card.
The 27-year-old actress and her actor partner – who welcomed son Leo together in August 2023 – recently tied the knot at a country estate in Somerset and Mia revealed Tom proposed two years ago with the help of some crumpets and a card.
She told Vogue.co.uk: “He made me a lovely breakfast spread with crumpets – because I love crumpets. Then he gave me a card, which actually isn’t like Tom, he’s not really one for romance. It said, ‘Are you ready to get married, yes or no?’ with boxes to tick. He reminded me in his speech at the wedding that I never actually ticked the box that said yes. I was too busy screaming.”
And, although she got emotional in the morning, Mia revealed their wedding day was full of laughter and joy.
She said: “I started crying when we were getting ready. I don’t know what came over me.
“I just couldn’t stop laughing when I walked down the aisle and I saw him, and all around me people in the congregation were crying. We just giggled. It was so good.”
While Mia said Leo “stole the show, absolutely”, she explained how all the guests joined in a raucous rendition of I’ll Be There For You’ as she and Tom made their way down the aisle after the ceremony.
Mia said: “Because I’m a crazy Friends fan. The venue told us it’s the first time they’ve ever had a couple be sung out of the ceremony by all of their mates.”
And, one of the most emotional parts of the day, was when Tom’s dad serenaded the couple with ‘Wonderwall’, despite initially saying he wouldn’t sing.
She said: “Tom’s dad was in a band back in the day and he’s a really good singer, even though he denies it. When we first got engaged I asked if he’d sing at the wedding, but he said he couldn’t do it.
“It was an absolute highlight of my whole life. I know how nervous he would have been, and how much it would have taken for him to do it, so it meant the absolute world.”

Henry Winkler gushes about meeting Queen Camilla

OHMYGOSSIP — Henry Winkler has gushed about meeting Queen Camilla.
The 78-year-old actor attended Royal Ascot at Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire, with his wife Stacey earlier this year and was shocked when he received a request to meet with Camilla, who is a big fan of his children’s books, the ‘Detective Duck’ series.
He told PEOPLE: “We were invited to Ascot, the royal races. You heard about it in ‘My Fair Lady’, you hear about it all through history, and we were invited.
“[King Charles and Queen Camilla] arrive[d] in an open carriage pulled by these incredible horses, then we have a three-course lunch.
“Then all of a sudden, a buzz goes through the room. ‘The Queen wants to meet Henry.’ So we walk down onto the paddock onto the green, and all of a sudden these 12 men in forest green cutaways march out. She comes in white in the middle of them and walks up. I tip my hat, and I talk to her like she was my Aunt Liz. There is no disconnect. There’s no royalty. There is just this lovely woman who knows about my children’s books, the ‘Detective Duck’ series.”
Meanwhile, Henry shot to fame Arthur ‘Fonzie’ Fonzarell on the iconic TV show ‘Happy Days’ between 1974 and 1984 and recently admitted he felt lost when he tried to move on with his career.
He told The Sunday Times newspaper: “I was in psychic pain. Terrified of making the wrong next choice. Terrified of not being asked to do much other than Fonzie. I’d literally never considered a plan B.”
Henry now has a reputation for being one of the nicest men in Hollywood, and the actor has confessed to being grateful for all of his success.
He shared: “I have to tell you the truth. It’s not a matter of being nice. I am grateful. Grateful that I’m on this earth, that I get to sit out there and play with my dogs, that I get to see my family, that I get to do these amazing, wonderful things.”
Asked what advice he would give to young actors, Henry replied: “Be honest about your talent. Train it. Work on yourself so that your courage is at a very high quotient. And when the time is right, pack clean underwear and walk out the door.”

Post Malone credits daughter with changing his life

OHMYGOSSIP — Post Malone credits his daughter with changing his life “in the best way ever”.
The 29-year-old rapper and his fiancée Jamie welcomed their daughter – who they have not publicly named but whose initials DDP are tattooed on his forehead – two years ago and Post says her birth was a turning point for him.
Speaking to Anthony Mason on ‘CBS Sunday Morning’, he said: “I’ll never forget her. If you heard her cry, you’ll never forget her, either! It changes your life in the best way ever. And the most beautiful thing is, she has a beautiful mom.”
Explaining that he was dealing with “loneliness” four years ago, Post said: “Four years ago, I was on a rough path. It was terrible. Getting up, having a good cry, drinking and then going living your life. And then whenever you go lay down, drinking some more and having a good cry. And just like, ‘I gotta wake up tomorrow and do this again.’ And I don’t feel like that anymore. And it’s the most amazing thing. I needed to [do it] for myself, to figure who I am.”
And Post also shared his special relationship with his fans, saying: “I don’t want people to feel how I’ve felt. And I know they do. And I’m here and I’m on stage and I just want everyone to feel welcome and to feel loved. And that’s the most important thing for me.”
Post has previously spoken about how becoming a father helped him to curb his partying ways.
Speaking to Apple Music last year, he said: “Having a baby really put a lot into perspective, and it’s really slowed me down a lot, party-wise, going out and being crazy. I never really got time or really had the bandwidth to experience the journey to its fullest. So I guess that’s what I’m trying to do now.
“I really love hanging out with my baby, hanging out with the lady, playing video games, and in my garage working on projects. That’s what I love to do.”

Union J singer James ‘Jaymi’ Hensley’s fiancé dead aged 33 after hotel window fall

OHMYGOSSIP — Union J singer James ‘Jaymi’ Hensley’s fiancé has died after falling from a hotel window – five weeks before the couple were due to tie the knot.
Olly Marmon, 33, passed away in the early hours of Monday (12.08.24) after he suffered a fall at the three-star Hind Hotel in Wellingborough, Northampton, at around 11.30pm the previous night, with his death publicly revealed on Tuesday.
The hairstylist’s family confirmed the tragedy in a statement that hailed Olly as “spiritual” and a “gentle soul” who was “beautiful both inside and out”.
Jaymi, 34, who is famed for reaching the semi-final of ‘The X Factor’ with Union J in 2012 before the boyband had a string of hit singles, had been in a relationship with Olly since 2009, with the couple announcing their engagement in 2014 – before recently announcing they were set to marry on 24 September.
Olly’s mum Julie and stepdad Steve Peacock said in a statement: “Words cannot express the devastation and heartbreak I feel over the loss of my beautiful youngest son Oliver, Olly to his friends.
“I can’t believe I am having to write this. No mother should have to do this.
“The relationship I had with Oliver was so special, he was my best friend. We spoke every single day. He called me mummy, he used to call me his guardian angel.
“Oliver was so caring, loving, quiet and always put others before himself. He was a very talented hairdresser, and it was a passion he took seriously.
“More recently he had been working with his stepdad Steve gardening and loved it so much. He was spiritual and loved the outdoors.
“He touched many lives and everyone he met fell in love with him. Steve referred to Oliver as his son.
“I will miss my little Oliver so much and don’t know how I will go on without him.
“Such a devastating loss to all our family including his brothers Ben and James and sister Alex, as well as his Auntie Loraine, Uncle Simon and cousin Sophie.”
Olly’s dad Leigh and stepmum Vanessa Marmon added: “My darling Oliver, I cannot believe that I am writing this. I would give my life to have saved yours.
“I am struggling with every emotion you can think of, grief, anger, guilt, the list goes on.
“I know that you knew how much you were loved. I was so proud of you and everything you achieved. You have been to places that I can only dream of.
“Whatever you put your mind to, you achieved. When you were younger you were a talented sportsperson, musician and of course, hairdresser – your dream job. You won medals and awards in gymnastics and hairdressing.
“Your life was too short, but you squeezed so much into it. You were so kind-hearted, a gentle soul who was just so beautiful inside and out.”
Jaymi and Olly recently shared an Instagram snap while on a trip to Norway.
In September, the singer uploaded a post celebrating their anniversary, in which he said: “14 years together and 1 year until ‘I do!’”

John Mulaney confirms he and Olivia Munn married last month

OHMYGOSSIP — John Mulaney has confirmed he and Olivia Munn married last month.
The comic, 41, made headlines in early July after it emerged he had got quietly hitched to ‘X Men: Apocalypse’ actress Olivia, 44, at a friend’s home in New York – with only their two-year-old son Malcolm and a witness at the intimate ceremony.
He has now broken his silence on the nuptials, saying on ‘Late Night With Seth Myers’: “This is the single greatest time in my life. Marrying into a large Vietnamese family is one of the most fun things I’ve ever done… they’re the best, man.”
John made his announcement in front of his mother-in-law, who he had brought to the taping of the talk show.
He added: “Ms Kim is here with me tonight. I’m so happy she came.
“One of them will come with you anywhere. … They’re the greatest.”
John and Olivia got secretly hitched after the actress fought a horrific battle against breast cancer, which saw her undergo a double mastectomy and hysterectomy.
The actress had been due to shoot a sci-fi film in Germany last year when she instead had to go under the knife for her double mastectomy after oncologists discovered she was suffering stage 1 invasive cancer in both her breasts.
She told People about being left with “battle wounds” from the gruelling operation: “I have some divots and dents on one side of my body near where the lymph nodes were, and they had to really dig out.
“And I’ve been wearing some dresses on the red carpet that made me a little stressed out at times.”
She and John have been together since 2021 after they started dating following the stand-up comic’s decision to file for divorce from his artist first wife Anna Marie Tendler, 39, just after he got out of a two-month stint in rehab for cocaine and alcohol abuse.
She said in a statement at the time: “I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage.
“I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.”

George Clooney ‘little irritated’ with Quentin Tarantino for branding him ‘not a movie star’

OHMYGOSSIP — George Clooney is a “little irritated” with Quentin Tarantino for branding him “not a movie star”.
The actor-turned-director, 63, is still one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars and has helmed a string of critically acclaimed movies, and has now hit out at Quentin, 61, who he recently said “some s***” about his Hollywood status.
George – who starred alongside Quentin in Robert Rodriguez’s 1996 vampire comedy-horror ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ – told the September issue of GQ magazine: “Quentin said some s*** about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him.
“He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about (Brad Pitt), and somebody else, and then this guy goes, ‘Well, what about George?’ He goes, ‘He’s not a movie star’.
“And then he literally said something like, ‘Name me a movie since the millennium’.
“And I was like, ‘Since the millennium? That’s kind of my whole f****** career.’”
George has two Oscars to his name and also told GQ how he is now setting his sights on Broadway.
The ‘Confessions of a Dangerous Mind’ director, who has two children with his
human rights lawyer wife Amal, 46, said: “I wrote a Broadway play, ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’.
“I’m going to be on Broadway. Look, that’s going to be six months of my life in New York… I’m going to give myself time with my kids.
“I really enjoy driving them to school, and my wife and I are having a really wonderful time.
“So I don’t want to lose all of that. But this is an opportunity to do something that I have never done before. I’ve never been on Broadway.”

Courteney Cox’s daughter thinks it was ‘very rude’ her mum didn’t save her anything from ‘Friends’ wardrobe

OHMYGOSSIP — Courteney Cox’s daughter has joked it was “very rude” of her famous mother not to have saved her any clothes from her ‘Friends’ wardrobe.
The actress, 60, became a style icon in the ’90s thanks to the outfits she sported playing neurotic Monica Geller in NBC’s sitcom phenomenon from 1994 to 2004, and her 20-year-old girl Coco Arquette – who Courteney had with her 52-year-old actor ex-husband David Arquette – has now opened up about her disappointment she will never get to try the clothes her mum sported on the show.
She told Refinery29: “Fun fact – she didn’t save anything for me from the ’90s.
“It’s actually very rude.
“Everyone’s like, ‘Oh those outfits’. (But) no, I don’t have them.”
Courteney, who was interviewed alongside her daughter for the feature, nodded in agreement – with the pair also admitting the actress’ current closet was still worth raiding.
When asked who between the two of them is more likely to take something from the other’s wardrobe and not give it back, Coco was quick to admit she was guilty of nabbing clothes.
She said: “Me. 100 percent without a question. Quickly answered.”
Even though she joking said she was devastated she wouldn’t get to try her mum’s ’90s clothes, there is one of her mother’s red carpet looks Coco did manage to get her hands on from the decade.
It was a slightly sheer, embroidered dress Courteney sported at a showing of 1998’s ‘Snake Eyes’ film starring Nicolas Cage.
Courteney said about the piece in an Instagram post about the dress that showed her side-by-side with her daughter: “I’m not one to hold onto things. But this was a damn good purchase! 21 years later… .”

Teri Hatcher declares her dating app ‘era’ is ‘over’

OHMYGOSSIP — Teri Hatcher’s dating app “era” is “over now”.
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress, 59, was left stunned when she was thrown off singles site Hinge after recently joining it following the breakdown of two marriages – her first with Marcus Leithold, to whom she was married from 1988 to 1989, and her second to Jon Tenney from 1994 to 2003, during which they had a daughter.
In a hint she has now given up her search for love, she told broadcaster Chris Evans, 58, on his Virgin Radio show: “I think the idea (about getting on a singles app) really was to say to the universe, ‘I am open to dating’.
“Everybody talks about that – ‘You have to do gestures to the universe to make things happen to you’.
“And so that was mine… I’ll go on a dating app and that will universally say that I am open to dating, I’m willing, right?
“Although I don’t think I ever really thought that was going to be the direction that was going to work out for me.”
Teri added about being dumped from Hinge: “But I also didn’t think that one day I would go to open the app on my phone and I would be blocked!”
The ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ star added she thinks she was kicked off Hinge due to a mix of people not believing she was on the site and reporting her profile – and other users who took her account as genuine complaining when she refused to date them or didn’t reply to their messages.
She added: “I think what happened, when I was on the app, there would be people that would say either, ‘This can’t possibly be Teri Hatcher – what would she be doing on this app?’
“Or they would say, ‘Hey, you want to go out on a date with me?’
“And then when I wouldn’t, I think maybe they got mad that I didn’t respond. And so I think collectively, those people must have alerted Hinge that somebody was pretending to be me.
“But that whole era is over now. Now I’m still not dating, but I’m also not on any apps!”

Kylie Jenner stricken with postpartum depression that lasted a year after first teenage pregnancy

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner was stricken with postpartum depression that lasted a year after her first teenage pregnancy.
The reality TV star, 27, had daughter Stormi, six, when she was only 19, followed by son Aire, two – both of whom she shares with her 33-year-old rapper ex Travis Scott – and has now opened up about the devastating impact of early motherhood.
Make-up mogul Kylie, now dating actor Timothée Chalamet, 28, told British Vogue: “Stormi wasn’t planned. It happened, but obviously I knew that I wanted to have her. I wanted children so bad.
“I was 19 when I got pregnant, 20 when I had her… it was wild… looking back at it, I give myself more empathy and grace. But when I was a teenager, even my family were like: ‘You aren’t that young.’
“I think maybe I carried myself (in a certain way), or I’d already been working for 10 years.
“It didn’t hit me (right away.) But it was a huge life change.
“(Postpartum depression from Stormi) lasted a year.”
Kylie added she suffered the same form of the blues after Aire’s birth, saying it lasted “around the same length of time”.
She went on about how she is optimistic about her future: “I’m going to be 27, and I’m finally feeling like myself again, and (in hindsight) I think, being pregnant, I wore sweatpants every day, I didn’t have time to figure out even some of the little things in my life, and then postpartum lasted a year.
“Mentally, it’s really hard. Hormonally, it’s really hard. I didn’t know how to dress.”
Kylie added about the upside of being a mum: “No matter what I’m going through or what I look like or what the internet writes about me that day. I come home and my kids just love me unconditionally.
“They’re just obsessed with me and that’s taught me to walk through life a little easier.
“I’m like, ‘OK, well I have these little humans at home that need me and love me and think I’m the most perfect person in the world, so I don’t really need validation from outside sources’.”

Union J singer Jaymi Hensley’s fiancé’s hotel fall death not being treated as suspicious

OHMYGOSSIP — Union J singer Jaymi Hensley’s fiancé’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
Olly Marmon, 33, died in the early hours of Monday (12.08.24) after he suffered a reported 30ft fall from a top-floor suite at the three-star Hind Hotel in Wellingborough, Northampton, at around 11.30pm the previous night, with his passing publicly revealed on Tuesday.
According to The Sun, there is no action to be taken against former ‘X Factor’ star Jaymi, 34, and police are said to have passed the case of Olly’s death to the coroner.
Confirming detectives were not treating it as suspicious – following the results of a forensic post-mortem that confirmed Olly’s death was the result of injuries sustained in a fall – DCI Johnny Campbell said: “It is only right that an incident such as this is treated with the utmost seriousness, to make sure we have done all we can to understand what has happened, and to get the answers those left behind need and want.
“In Olly’s case I can confirm the evidence we have examined did not support his death as a homicide, which has now been further confirmed by the results of the preliminary forensic post-mortem report.
“Our initial findings and decision have been explained to Olly’s family who will continued to be supported by Northamptonshire Police as they mourn the loss of their loved one.”
Officers had appealed for any footage after Olly fell through a small open window onto a footpath, The Sun said.
