Lucas Bravo knew himself ‘better’ before Emily In Paris success

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucas Bravo felt like he knew himself “better” before ‘Emily In Paris’.
The 36-year-old actor – who plays Emily Cooper’s (Lily Collins) attractive neighbour Gabriel in the hit Netflix show – admitted he still suffers with “self-doubt” even after the comedy drama’s huge success.
He told the UK’s Independent newspaper: “Professionally and financially speaking, I wasn’t where I wanted to be [before ‘Emily In Paris’].
“At the same time, I felt like I knew myself better back then. I had more clarity and a lot less anxiety.
“I’d been chasing that goal for 27 years. But once you step into it, it’s hard to find another purpose. Every level has its own paralysing self-doubt.”
Lucas insisted he is “doing well” and “fine” despite opening up in a such a candid way.
He added: “Being deep doesn’t mean you’re depressed. It’s just important to talk about these things.”
In the past, he tried to explain the difference between real life for a successful actor, and the assumptions people might make.
He recaleld: “I wanted to bring nuance to the fact that just because you do one season of a Netflix show doesn’t mean you have a beautiful house in the hills, and that you’re rich and you’re set for life and you’re happy.
“You’re allowed, as a human being, to go through a huge range of emotions and to question things. It doesn’t mean you’re not grateful, or you’re not enjoying the ride…
“It just means things are real. We’re complex. It’s not black and white.”
Similarly, playing “the boy next door” chef in ‘Emily In Paris’ hasn’t come easy for him, particularly as he tries not to focus too much on looks.
He said: “‘Emily in Paris’ is a very aesthetic-driven show, so of course you get self-conscious.
“But I’m trying as much as possible not to focus on looks – it doesn’t allow you to really lose yourself in a character.”

Julie Bowen was ‘terrified’ when she started Modern Family: ‘I felt like an outsider…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Julie Bowen felt “terrified” when she joined the cast of ‘Modern Family’.
The 54-year-old actress – who has twins John and Gus, 13, and Oliver, 15, with her ex-husband Scott Phillips – eventually won two Emmys for her role as Claire Dunphy in the ABC sitcom but because she had made her name starring in dramas like ‘ER’ and ‘Boston Legal’, felt as if she “didn’t belong”, especially as she had recently become a mother.
Speaking on the ‘I Choose Me’ podcast, she told former 90210′ star Jennie Garth: “I had babies, and I was breastfeeding, and I was going to work at 5 AM. I had three kids in diapers, and, you know, you’re going to work every day going, ‘Oh my gosh.’ And you still need to be nice and professional, and you have to look good, and you’re not sleeping at all.
“I felt like as much as, you know, getting up at 4:30 in the morning to get to work can be a pain, and not being with your kids is awful, I loved being there so much and I felt so much validation, and I felt so good.
“I spent the first year or year and a half in ‘Modern Family’ being terrified because everybody there was so funny and so good at what they did. I’m like, ‘I don’t belong here.'”
The former ‘Ed’ star – who was visibility pregnant when she filmed the ‘Modern Family’ pilot in 2009 – also admitted that she was “in awe” of how her younger castmates like Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sarah Hyland managed to come with fame amid the rise of social media.
She said: “I was in awe of their composure … they were living out loud and on social media and getting hate on social media. And I’m like, ‘Maybe you should just not be on Twitter or Instagram, and maybe you shouldn’t do those things.’ And they were like, ‘We’re fine. We’re fine.”

John Cena reveals biggest goal for WWE retirement

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena wants “to be present” for his final WWE run.
The 47-year-old wrestling turned actor will bring his 23-year in-ring career to an end in 2025 with a 36-date run between January and December, and he wants to make sure he’s fully in the moment for each appearance.
Speaking at the LA premiere of ‘Jackpot!’ alongside his wife Shay Shariatzadeh, he told Extra: “We got an awesome present tonight, I’m trying to be here.
“I also want to be present for that time [with WWE], you know. That’s a culmination of a 23-year career and WWE was kind enough to agree that this would be a good idea.
“Let’s do 36 dates all next year. We’ll pick them strategically so fans around the world can get together and raise hell one last time.”
Cena, who made his WWE debut in 2002 and has been focusing more on his Hollywood career in recent years – insisted he doesn’t want to dwell on what his life will be like after hanging up his boots.
He added: “I’ll figure out what’s going on in my life after that, but I’m going to be present and enjoy those moments.”
He also refused to be drawn on naming dream opponents for his run, admitting there will always be people after his retirement that he wishes he could have got in the ring with.
He said: “The great thing about WWE is the story never ends… It always seems to grow in reach and grow in popularity so even after I retire I would want to have illusions of like, ‘Oh what would a match be like with this person or this person?’
“I never tried to marry myself to those concepts because that stuff is beyond my control, I just kind of take the opponents that I’m given and try to tell the best story I can.”

The Crown star Elizabeth Debicki had to ‘unwind the wheel’ after playing Princess Diana

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Debicki had to “unwind the wheel” after playing Princess Diana in ‘The Crown’.
The 33-year-old actress starred as the late royal – who was killed in a car crash in 1997 at the age of 36 – in the hit Netflix drama, but admitted that because she had to change her native Australian accent for the role, she had to spend a bit of time trying to get back to normal after filming had finished.
She said: “My voice changed quite a bit and I kind of had to consciously bring it back to my own voice where my voice wants to sit and also my own accent. I had to work so hard at getting the voice that I sort of ingrained it so deeply in myself that I had to unwind the wheel.”
The ‘Night Manager’ star – who took over the part of Princess Diana from Emma Corrin to portray her final years – admitted that she was “doing quite a lot of physical stuff as well” to portray the character as well, but was shocked when people pointed out to her that she was still trying to emulate the character and had to make a “conscious” effort to stop.
She said: “Someone said to me, ‘I think you’re doing it when you’re trying to convince people something.’ If someone was like, ‘You can’t go that way.’ I [found] myself sort of saying, ‘Are you sure?’ And then I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m slipping into this.
“That has left me now, but I had to do it consciously.”
The historical drama ran for six seasons and charted the reign of Queen Elizabeth from her accession to the throne up until the 2005 wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, and Elizabeth noted that her Emmy nomination has been a “lovely end” to the whole project.
She said: “The show’s been running for a long time and my cast and I have been kind of on this ride for nearly three years in a way, in terms of prep and then shooting and press, and so it’s just a lovely end to a long and beautiful — but sometimes really challenging — chapter as actors.”

David Arquette opens up on how dyslexia has led to struggles in his career

OHMYGOSSIP — David Arquette struggles to learn lines because of his dyslexia.
The 52-year-old actor was diagnosed with the learning difficulty that primarily affects the skills involved in accurate reading and spelling just over a decade ago after struggling throughout his childhood and admitted that he can read a script “a thousand times” because it sinks in.
Speaking on the ‘Off the Vine’ podcast, he explained: “Yeah. I’m still, like, I can go over a script a thousand times on my own. I can still not have it when I walk on the set until I hear the people say it and we run it a couple times. I had this one scene where it was, like, cut it into three scenes. But when I got to the set, they were like, ‘We’ll put them all together.’ And just the sheer putting-them-all-together just scrambled my brain.”
“The ‘Scream’ star recalled the time he appeared in the leading role of a play and almost had a “mental break” because he had so much trouble with getting his lines down.
He said: “I did this play and I played Sherlock Holmes and I had an English accent and it was — oh, wow. I should never play that role. Just so not right for the bad kind of character…it was a comedic version, but still.
“But it was so hard and I wasn’t off book yet. They invited, like, all of these schools. And the whole place is filled, and I’m not comfortable with the lines yet. I was so nervous, and, oh, man. It was like I had nearly had a mental break at that point. It was so scary.”

Britney Spears’ childhood home could feature in the movie about her life

OHMYGOSSIP — Britney Spears’ biopic could be filmed in her childhood home.
The 42-year-old pop superstar released her autobiography ‘The Woman in Me’ last year and after Universal Pictures secured the rights for a big screen adaptation, the owners of the Kentwood home she lived in as a child have invited the film company to shoot on her former abode.
One of the owners explained to TMZ that they are “totally open to camera crews descending on the property to shoot scenes” and is “cool” with the idea that Universal may have to empty her home of its current furniture to dress it how it might have appeared in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The homeowner – who put the property on the market last year for $1.2 million – is also “willing to move out of the home for however long it takes to film” but expects to be financially compensated.
The home is 2,999-square feet and features a basement dance studio along with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The ‘…Baby One More Time’ hitmaker is undoubtedly the most famous former resident of the small town in Louisiana, which currently has a population of just over 2,000.
Britney was born in McComb, Mississippi but moved to Kentwood at the age of three with her parents Jamie and Lynne as well as her older brother Bryan, where her mother operated a daycare centre and her father owned a gym.
She made her stage debut singing ‘What Child Is This?’ at a performance in her kindergarten, and in 1992 was cast as an understudy to Laura Bell Bundy in the Off-Broadway musical ‘Ruthless!’ alongside Natalie Portman.
In 1993, Britney landed a part on ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’, and the town proclaimed that 24 April would be known as Britney Spears Day.
The small Bible Belt town is still home to Lynne, 69, – who has lived in the custom-built Serenity Estate for more than 20 years – as well as Britney’s younger sister Jamie Lynn, 33, while the ‘Toxic’ singer now lives in LA.
Kentwood Mayor Irma T. Gordon explained that the town – which is also home to an unofficial museum dedicated to Britney – would be more than happy to accommodate film crews in the hopes that it would “boost tourism”, and teased that a new museum will open around the time the biopic is released.

The award-winning star told Glamour magazine: “I have a maturity now where I just don’t give a f*** about your opinion. I’m not going to take it on.
“It must be your responsibility to take up your space. Other people’s opinions of me are not my business.”

Earlier this year, Christina claimed that women face “double standards” in the entertainment industry.
The singer feels she’s been consistently “shamed” for expressing her sexuality and “trying to empower other women” during the course of her career.

“I’ve experienced first-hand the double standards [put on women]; and I’ve been shamed for being open, for expressing myself sexually and trying to own my body, and for trying to empower other women. People are afraid of that.”

Arrests made in connection with Matthew Perry’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Multiple people have been arrested in connection with Matthew Perry’s death.
The actor – who was best known for playing Chandler Bing on ‘Friends’ – died in October 2023, aged 54, from the acute effects of ketamine, and a law enforcement source has now confirmed to CNN that multiple have been arrested following a police investigation.
Charges are actually set to be announced during a press conference in Los Angeles on Thursday morning (15.08.24). It’s also expected that details of Perry’s actions will be provided during the press conference.
In December, an autopsy report confirmed that Perry died due to the “acute effects of ketamine”.
The report also listed drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects as contributing factors in the actor’s death.
Perry – who was found dead in a “residential pool” – suffered from drug and alcohol addiction for years, and buprenorphine is a medication that’s used to treat opioid use disorder.
The actor’s death was considered to be accidental, with the report stating that no foul play was suspected.
However, in May, Los Angeles Police Department Captain Scot Williams confirmed to CNN that an investigation remained open and that it was criminal in nature.
He said at the time: “Hypothetically there’s a potential for criminal culpability depending on what the investigation undercovers, but at this point, we’re not there yet.”
Williams confirmed that the authorities were looking at how Perry got the drugs and who supplied them to him.
The investigation was being assisted by the US Postal Inspection Service and the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
Perry was laid to rest at the Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles in November.

The 29-year-old beauty quit ‘Vanderpump Rules’ after it emerged that she had a months-long affair with Tom Sandoval, but Katie has now rubbished her former co-star’s justification for her behaviour.
During an appearance on the ‘Disrespectfully’ podcast, Katie explained: “She’s moving the goalpost once again, everybody. I kind of have to chuckle at it because I don’t know what she’s trying to accomplish.
“But it is insane because she wants to talk about how she misses her friendship, but initially none of us were her friends.”
Katie dismissed the idea that a lack of support from her co-stars led Rachel to make bad decisions.
She said: “That was what she was touting was that no one was that close. I wasn’t even that close with her. That’s why she justified everything – all of her behaviour with Tom Schwartz or Ariana [Madix] – was because [she] wasn’t that close [with anyone].”
Meanwhile, Rachel recently revealed that she’s not in contact with any of her former co-stars.
The reality star – who launched her own podcast series after quitting ‘Vanderpump Rules’ in 2023 – has admitted to feeling “betrayed” by some her former co-stars.

“I think the most heartbreaking part of all of it was feeling betrayed by my friends. I know how that sounds because I was somebody who betrayed a friend.
“But in my darkest times, I just thought that these were my true friends and they would love me no matter what and would want to hear me out. That just wasn’t the case.”
