Channing Tatum spent day in bathroom being sick after swallowing pool water in Mexico

OHMYGOSSIP — Channing Tatum spent the day in the bathroom being sick after swallowing pool water during a party in Mexico.
The actor, 44, and his fiancée Zoë Kravitz, 35, shared the story of his mishap with Buzzfeed while promoting their psychological thriller ‘Blink Twice’, which was filmed in the country.
Zoë said in their chat: “Remember we had that party, Chan, and you and (our co-star) Simon (Rex) were both wrestling in the pool, and then you guys swallowed pool water. But we are in Mexico. And you were puking.”
Channing chipped in: “For 12 hours. I couldn’t leave the bathroom.
“The doctor had to come and give me a shot in the butt to make it all okay.”
Zoë added: “It was a sick party.”
The pair made the admission after it emerged ‘Blink Twice’ has been slapped with a trigger warning.
She and Channing’s Amazon MGM Studios’ film is billed as a “psychological thriller about the abuse of power” – and on its release on Wednesday (21.08.24) the alert was posted on the social media accounts for the movie.
It said: “We are proud to finally share ‘Blink Twice’ with audiences in theatres worldwide this week.
“While this is a fictionalised movie, it contains mature themes and depictions of violence – including sexual violence.
“This may be upsetting or triggering for some viewers. For resources that offer support, visit BlinkTwiceResources.com.”
The post comes after the recently released domestic violence drama ‘It Ends With Us’ was slammed by some for not giving audiences an advance warning about its content.
Starring Blake Lively, 36, and directed by her co-star Justin Baldoni, 40, it did include the message in its end credits: “If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available. Visit: www.nomore.org for information and support.”

Dennis Quaid fears sequel to ‘Parent Trap’ will never happen after death of Natasha Richardson

OHMYGOSSIP — Dennis Quaid fears a sequel to ‘The Parent Trap’ will never happen after the tragic death of his co-star in the much-loved film.
The actor, 70, featured in the 1998 remake of the movie alongside Natasha Richardson, who died in 2009 at 45 from blunt-force trauma during a skiing accident.
Dennis told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his upcoming film ‘Reagan in Los Angeles’ when asked if there could be a follow-up to the comedy: “That would be fantastic – but Natasha. How do we do it without Natasha?”
The actor added the actress’ death still “still breaks my heart”.
He and the star played parents to Lindsay Lohan’s characters Hallie and Annie Parker in the movie.
Dennis also mentioned how Lindsay, now 38, had developed over the years – saying she was “fantastic” and paying tribute to her for growing into a “beautiful person”.
He also admitted that despite Natasha’s passing, “you never know” if a ‘Parent Trap’ sequel could be a possibility.
But he said he believes the 1998 remake of the classic 1961 original had a huge legacy to follow, adding: “‘The Parent Trap’ was like, a whole new career for me. It’s so in my heart. It’s such a beautiful movie.
“And I think people will be watching that 100 years from now, I really do.”

River Phoenix remembered as ‘most beautiful one’ by sister

OHMYGOSSIP — River Phoenix has been remembered as a “most beautiful one” by his sister on what would have been his 54th birthday.
The ‘Stand by Me’ actor died in 1993 from a drug overdose at the age of 23 and his sibling Rain Phoenix, 51, has now shared a string of photos of the actor on her Instagram in his memory.
Her photo carousel included a number of quotes attributed to River, and she simply captioned it: “Happy Birthday River.”
Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, 61, who was friends with River and there when the actor collapsed outside the Los Angeles nightclub The Viper Room before his death and accompanied River to the hospital, said in a comment on Rain’s post: “Happy birthday most beautiful one.”
River was the oldest of the five Phoenix siblings, who along with Rain included Oscar-winning ‘Joker’ actor Joaquin, 49, as well as Liberty, 48 and 45-year-old Summer.
They grew up traveling with their parents as missionaries for the Children of God.
After separating from the religious movement, the family settled in California in the late 1970s, where River started his acting career.
His feature film debut was 1985’s ‘Explorers’, with his break-out role in ‘Stand by Me’ a year later.
The coming-of-age story told of a gang of high school children on the hunt for a corpse, and was adapted from the Stephen King story ‘The Body’.
River was then Oscar-nominated in 1988 for his role in ‘Running on Empty’ and appeared as a young Indiana Jones in 1989’s ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’.
Rain and Joaquin were present at the scene of River’s death on 31 October, 1993, with the actor’s brother calling 911 to the scene and Rain attempting mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Matthew Perry’s ex-girlfriend questions why there was lack of ‘drugs paraphernalia’ at scene of his death

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Perry’s ex-girlfriend and assistant has questioned why there was a lack of “drugs paraphernalia” at the scene of his death.
The actor – who shot to fame playing Chandler Bing on NBC sitcom ‘Friends’ from 1994 to 2004 and was killed on 28 October, 2023, aged 54 from the “acute effects” of anaesthetic ketamine after receiving three injections of the drug – has had the circumstances of his death questioned by his ex-employee Kayti Edwards.
She said in a chat with the Daily Mirror newspaper: “If you have given him a big shot, there would be a needle and evidence of ketamine in the house.
“Where did it all go? Why did the assistant shoot him up with all those drugs and leave.
“I always stayed with Matthew if he was taking drugs as I didn’t want him to OD, or anything to happen. I could call 911.
“But why wasn’t his assistant there?”
Kayti, 47, was Matthew’s assistant in 2011, and she dated the ‘Friends’ star in 2006, with the pair staying friends until his death.
Matthew’s assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, 59, has told authorities he administered three doses of ketamine by injection to the actor on the day he died.
But Kayti said: “When I heard that he let his assistant do it, I just couldn’t understand, especially as he had no medical training.”
Iwamasa was among five people indicted over Matthew’s death, and he has already pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute ketamine causing death.
He admitted in plea deal papers to “repeatedly injecting Perry with ketamine without medical training”.
US Attorney Martin Estrada said two doctors charged in connection to the actor’s death “cared more about profiting off of Mr Perry than caring for his well-being”.
He added: “Matthew Perry’s journey began with unscrupulous doctors who abused their position of trust because they saw him as a payday, to street dealers who gave him ketamine in unmarked vials.”

Justin Bieber has become a father

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin and Hailey Bieber have confirmed the arrival of their first child.
The 30-year-old pop star and the 27-year-old model are proud parents to son Jack Blues Bieber, with the ‘Baby’ hitmaker confirming the news with a snap of the newborn’s foot held by his mom, which he posted on Instagram on Friday (23.08.24).
He captioned the picture: “WELCOME HOME. JACK BLUES BIEBER.”
The Rhode Skin founder and the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker announced in early May that they were expecting a child – and revealed Hailey was six months along at the time, making her due date sometime in early August.
Hailey didn’t announce their big news until she was six months pregnant as she was able to hide her small bump using “big jackets”.
She told W magazine: “I was honestly able to keep it quiet because I stayed small for a long time. I didn’t have a belly, really, until I was six months pregnant, which was when I announced it. I was able to wear big jackets and stuff.”
Hailey went on to admit she “probably could have” kept the pregnancy a secret all the way through to the birth, but she didn’t like keeping such big news quiet.
She added: “I probably could have hid it until the end. But I didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly. I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”
Hailey had hoped she could raise a child away from spotlight – but that all changed when she married Justin in 2018.
She previously told GQ: “It’s probably totally unavoidable. That was before I was married. Didn’t know who I was going to be married to at the time, I’m sure.
“Maybe I liked the idea at 18 of not raising kids around certain things, but my life is so different now than it was when I was 18.”

Alison Moyet ‘traumatised by fame’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Moyet was “traumatised by fame”.
The ‘All Cried Out’ hitmaker was just 20 years old when she was propelled into the spotlight as a member of Yazoo alongside former Depeche Mode musician Vince Clarke, and she has shared how she became “agoraphobic” and felt so alone as a session musician as she didn’t connect with other artists.
She told Classic Pop magazine: “I was traumatised by fame.
“I became agoraphobic and I was self-conscious.”
“My first tours were terrifying.
“I had gone straight into doing those shows with no concert vocabulary. When I struggled onstage, I had no idea how to tell anyone to fix it. There was no connection with the other musicians, so I felt on my own.”
The 63-year-old songwriter – who has a new solo album, ‘Key’, on the way in October – is thankful she now has bandmate and producer Sean McGhee there to experience the highs and the lows of the job with her.
She said: “With session musicians, if you lose, you lose alone. When it goes tits up, everyone else can go on to the next job. That’s understandable, because when the big benefits happen, I get them. But if you face a hostile crowd, there’s no one to have a sly look with, whereas if it’s brilliant, there’s no one to share that joy with. Having Sean there, there’s trust that someone knows your language.”

Delta Goodrem’s been too ‘busy’ to plan ‘perfect’ wedding

OHMYGOSSIP — Delta Goodrem has been too “busy” to plan her “perfect” wedding.
The 39-year-old singer got engaged to her longtime love Matthew Copley last year, and her life has been so hectic, she and her fiancé are yet to sit down and discuss their special day.
She told Australia’s WHO magazine: “Don’t ask about the wedding.
“Things have been very busy, but a great kind of busy – the kind where I’ve never been happier.
“It’s about planning the day in a way that everyone can feel like they are invited, but we’ll keep on the path of discovering what makes the perfect day for us.”
The pair had been dating since 2017, and Matthew got down on one knee during a romantic getaway to Malta last September.
Alongside a sweet snap from the sunset proposal of the pair toasting the moment with a kiss and glass of bubbly, she wrote on Instagram: “My best friend asked me to marry him.”
Her new fiancée commented: “My forever love!”
The couple like to keep their relationship out of the limelight as much as possible, though in recent years Matthew performed with Delta on her Instagram amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ‘Born To Try’ hitmaker previously explained that whilst they want to keep their romance private, they enjoyed getting “creative” together and wanted to share that with their fans.
Speaking to Stellar magazine, she said: “I am pretty consistent with saying to people that my private life is my private life, but we are spending isolation together and, in our household, we’re both performers.
“It’s a relationship of respect. Matt is an incredible musician, and we really enjoy working together.
“Music is how we met, it’s what we both do, so it’s really about just being creative in the household.”
Delta confirmed her romance with Matthew in January 2018, after several months of dating, and admitted later that year she would be keeping her love life out of the public eye.
She said at the time: “I made a conscious decision when I was 30 that I’m not somebody who wants to talk about relationships.”
The ‘Let It Rain’ singer has had a number of high-profile romances in the past, including tennis star Mark Philippoussis, singer Brian McFadden, and Jonas Brothers star Nick Jonas.

In a video update from his hospital bed, he said: “Hi everybody, I had an explosion in my face. I’m ok, I’m gonna be ok, but I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms. I’m singed everywhere. Eyebrows are singed. My mouth is blistered. My arms [are] pretty bad. Both of my arms.”
Sid’s girlfriend Kelly, 39, was sat near to him with their young son Sidney on her lap as she explained what happened.

“He literally set himself on fire and exploded everything.”

The musician also issued a warning to anyone who thinks they can risk messing with fire.

Martin Short had seen ‘more death and tragedy’ by the end of his teens than any of his peers

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Short had seen more “death and tragedy” than any of his friends by the age of 20.
The 74-year-old actor was just 12 when his older brother David was killed in a car accident, his mother died following a battle with cancer just a few years later and his dad passed away in 1969 complications from a stroke but has no idea why that sort of trauma didn’t “screw [him] up” in the long run.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “All I know is that you only know your own life. At 20, I knew things about life and death and tragedy and loss that none of my friends knew about. I don’t know why this didn’t screw me up.
“The only thing I can think of is that these kind of life stresses either empower you or defeat you. But I think that by surviving all that and continuing on, I developed muscles to handle the disappointments in life.
“And I do think, in a weird way, it did make me braver as a performer, braver onstage. I’d try something, and if some people didn’t like it, I didn’t care because I didn’t know them. I was never doing this for the admiration of strangers. I was doing this to make my siblings and my friends laugh.”
The ‘Only Murders in the Building’ star tied the knot with Nancy Dolman in 1980 and went on to have Katherine, 40, Oliver, 38, and 35-year-old Henry with her but she passed away in 2010 following a long battle with cancer and even though it was an “absolutely horrible” time for the family, he has found comfort in a classic quote from author George Eliot.
He said: “It was absolutely horrible, obviously, and as sad as anything, but I will tell you what I said to my kids at the time: ‘I believe Mom has zoomed into our souls’, and I think… What’s the George Eliot quote?
“I’m going to find it right now. It’s worth it. George Eliot, let’s see, I wrote it down somewhere. I have a thing where I keep a list of things that I forget, like people’s names. Morgan Freeman was on it for a while. I’d be getting a massage and forget his name. Here it is. George Eliot said, ‘Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them’.
” We were together for 36 years. I didn’t want to forget Nancy.

Denzel Washington: ‘There are very few films left for me to make…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Denzel Washington insists there are a limited number of films left for him to make.
The 69-year-old double Oscar winner recently hinted at his retirement at the American Black Film Festival in Miami Beach, Florida, in June, and now he’s said that after Sir Ridley Scott’s ‘Gladiator II’, there’s not much else that has piqued his interest.
He told Empire magazine: “There are very few films left for me to make that I’m interested in, and I have to be inspired by the filmmaker, and I was tremendously inspired by Ridley.”
At the festival, he explained: “The things that are going on for me professionally behind the camera are as important to me now as in front of the camera. I think there’s less and less time I’ll be spending in front of the camera.”
During the talk, Denzel also opened up about working with his children on a Netflix adaptation of August Wilson’s ‘The Piano Lesson’, which was co-written and directed by his son Malcolm Washington, stars his other son John David Washington and was produced by his daughter Katia Washington.
The actor – who produced the movie – joked: “After about two weeks [on set], I went home. I was like, there’s really nothing for me to do here, I’m just in the way.”
He added of Malcolm’s directing work: “I’m not saying this because he’s my son, but he’s very talented. He went to the American Film Institute. He graduated number one in his class.”
Denzel also credited his wife Pauletta Pearson with inspiring their children to take up careers in the movie industry.
He said: “They all got it from their mother’s side. As long as I’ve known her, she’s been a movie buff, she got those kids to watch movies.”
He placed a video call to Pauletta during the onstage chat, and she joked that he wouldn’t be getting anything for Father’s Day after putting her on the spot.
She said: “Tomorrow’s Father’s Day so you can forget getting a gift!”
Denzel’s upcoming projects also include Spike Lee’s crime drama ‘High and Low’.

Eric André ended up in the hospital after injuring himself on the set of his TV show.

OHMYGOSSIP — Eric André ended up hospitalised with a concussion after injuring himself on the set of his TV show.
The 41-year-old comedian writes and stars in ‘The Eric André Show’ for Adult Swim but revealed that accidents are “pretty common” during production of the sketch comedy series and during an episode that guest-starred John Cena, he ended up being knocked in the head by a metal frame.
He told People: “It’s pretty common. I got through the shelf okay, but we forgot to sandbag the shelf — the frame of the shelf — so the metal frame tipped over and knocked me in the head. I got a concussion and went to the hospital.”
The ‘Sing 2’ star also recalled another time that he was trying to hammer a window but ended up with a “sliced hand” and had to have some stitches put in.
He said: “I was trying to hammer the window, but my whole hands went through. It sliced me up, and I had to get stitches. I had to go to the hospital for that.”
The show has been on the air since 2012 and has developed something of a cult following thanks to its outlandish celebrity interviews and sketches, but Eric noted that even the most dedicated fans cannot guess what is coming next.
He said: “Even if they did thorough research, they watch every episode, they’re super fans, once you sit in that chair, and explosives are being detonated, and flying African hissing cockroaches are coming out of my coffee mug? It doesn’t matter how prepared you are.
“We’ve gotten it to the point where it doesn’t matter how prepared you are. Once the torture begins, everybody’s going to react in a genuine way. We don’t ever want people playing along.”

The Crown star Charles Edwards recalls ‘rebelling’ as a child until he found acting

OHMYGOSSIP — Charles Edwards was a “rebellious” child until he discovered drama.
The 54-year-old actor struggled to understand why he had been sent to boarding school by his parents and ended up chatting back to teachers until he discovered plays and insisted that while he may be privately educated, he doesn’t really “advocate” for the existence of private schools.
He told The Telegraph: “I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t be at home. At prep school one night I ran away. I had packed a dynamo torch and my homework. It took me two hours to walk down the A3 to reach the sign that said our village. At which point my father [who worked in the City] drew up in a car and took me straight back. My parents were always kind, but they were just of that ilk. And so at school I rebelled and spoke back. But then I discovered plays.
“Although Winchester supported my acting ambitions, I’m not a great private-school advocate. I definitely support the introduction of VAT on fees, for instance. But that Eton entitlement is definitely not me. I was very shy and very bad at games. That public-school arrogance and presumption are not things I find easily within me. It’s maybe why I’m so interested in taking down authority in my roles.”
Meanwhile, the West End star is most known for his role as Martin Charteris, Baron Charteris of Amisfield in the Netflix hit ‘The Crown’ and when asked about the notion that it is the historical drama is not based on fact, noted impersonating members of the monarch is not a “new” idea.
He said: “There is definitely a portion of people who would have tuned into The Crown thinking, is this real? But it was also obviously a drama, with actors and a script. That’s hardly a new thing. People have been impersonating Prince Charles since Mike Yarwood.”

Gillian Anderson found it ‘surreal’ to be named sexiest woman in the world almost 30 years ago

OHMYGOSSIP — Gillian Anderson thought it was “surreal” when she was voted the sexiest woman in the world.
The 56-year-old actress topped FHM’s reader poll almost 30 years ago when she was in her late twenties but admitted it was very strange to have attained the title in the first place. She told The Guardian’s Saturday magazine: “I had a surreal experience in 1996 when I was voted world’s sexiest woman by readers of FHM magazine … a type of worship not far off some of the descriptions in these fantasies. I’m not sure I got the sense that it was inhibiting anybody.”
The ‘X Files’ star has now written a book titled ‘Want: Sexual Fantasies by Anonymous’ that is a collection of anonymous women’s sexual fantasies and admitted that she tried to be “nonjudgmental” in the letters she received for the project by default, but ended up “not being shocked” by anything she read.
She said: “I think we all felt that if people did feel they were writing to me, knowing how open I am – I’m pretty understanding and nonjudgmental, and I try to be as inclusive as humanly possible – people might feel safer, somehow. That they could put anything down and I wouldn’t be shocked.”
But the Hollywood star is still convinced that, as a society, people in general are “not as open” as they possibly should be when it comes to intimate relations.
Asked if the world is “straighter” than some may think, she replied: “Yes, precisely. Which is why I don’t think we can say, ‘Get out more.’ It’s a bigger conversation for people more adept at it than I: to talk about the degree to which things, as a culture, are not as open and accepting and free as we might imagine they should be in 2024.”
