Jordana Brewster shares surrogacy tips with other mums

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordana Brewster has been using her experience with surrogacy to help others because she believes in “paying it forward”.
The ‘Fast and Furious’ actress is mum to two sons – Julian, 10, and Rowan, eight – with her ex-husband Andrew Form and both boys were born via surrogate and Jordana says being open about her journey has been a huge help to other people who are considering going down the same path.
She told PEOPLE: “I had moms reach out to me and say, ‘Hey, can you walk me through this?’ Or, ‘Can you help me with this?’
“And I think life is all about paying it forward. And so if I can help someone because of the struggles I went through, I’m more than happy to do that”.
Jordana previously went public with her journey to being a mum back in 2015 and revealed she often felt “awkward” when having to explain her situation.
She told Yahoo Parenting: “I didn’t really have a choice about being open, since it was obvious I wasn’t pregnant. And for me it wasn’t a choice, I needed to use a surrogate. But I didn’t feel judged, it’s more like I felt awkward.”
She went on to add: “Sometimes I feel a little left out when other moms talk about what their birth experience was like, and I feel the loss of not having carried or having been able to carry [a baby]. But luckily I keep my circle tight and close, so I never feel judged …
“There are so many women who are young and have to go through IVF and feel like they can’t talk about it, and that’s really unfortunate.”
Jordana divorced her sons’ dad in 2021 and went on to marry businessman Mason Morfit in 2022. She’s now also stepmother to Mason’s four children from a previous relationship.

Juliet Stevenson explains why she finally got married after 30 years

OHMYGOSSIP — Juliet Stevenson finally married her partner Hugh Brody after 30 years together because they are “older now” and it “sort of made sense”.
The 67-year-old actress tied the knot with writer/director Hugh, who is in his 80s, in 2021 after spending more than three decades as a couple and having two children together and Juliet has now explained why they finally decided to walk down the aisle.
When asked what getting married has changed about their relationship, Juliet told the Guardian newspaper: “Absolutely nothing at all!
“So many people said: ‘Oh, I felt quite different once we got married’, but that’s not true for me.”
She went on to add: “The only reason we did it is we’re older now, and it made a sort of sense.”
Juliet went on to insist she feels incredibly “lucky” to still be madly in love after so many years together.
She added: “To have weathered some of the most challenging storms, and actually love each other even more after many, many years, makes me feel incredibly lucky.
“Love needs time and energy. It’s the most important force in the world.”
The couple was struck by tragedy back in 2020 when Hugh’s son from a previous marriage, Tomo Brody, died suddenly aged 37.
Juliet previously admitted losing her stepson was very painful and “frightening”.
In a previous interview with the Guardian, she said: “Tomo was one of the most beautiful human beings who ever walked the Earth. He was incapable of lying. And he was amazingly good at love. Losing a child, it’s so frightening.”
She also revealed it was made even more difficult because COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time stopped them mourning together as a family.
Juliet added: “Not being able to mourn together, it was like Alice in Wonderland or something. We’d fallen down some rabbit hole and everything was just wrong.
“The truth is that when you get a shock like that, when you get lost like that, you just stagger from moment to moment.”

Mandy Moore felt ‘so loved’ at baby shower

OHMYGOSSIP — Mandy Moore felt “so loved” at her baby shower.
The 40-year-old singer/actress is expecting her third child with husband Taylor Goldsmith and her family and friends gathered to celebrate the impending arrival of her daughter at an intimate brunch on Saturday (24.08.24) and Mandy has admitted the party made her feel incredibly lucky.
In a post on Instagram, Mandy thanked her friends for organising the shower and wrote: “Perfect morning of the best food and even better company. Thanks for making me and baby girl feel so loved and celebrated.”
The bash was attended by friends including Hilary Duff and guests were treated to a feast of muffins, fruit and bagel grazing boards.
Mandy is already mum to two sons, Gus, three, and Ozzie, who turns two in October, with Taylor and she recently admitted this pregnancy has been the most difficult.
In a post on her Instagram Story, Mandy admitted she was looking forward to the baby’s arrival next month. She wrote: “Is it September yet? Feeling very grateful to my body AND this pregnancy has been the hardest by far …simply because chasing 2 toddlers is not for the faint of heart. (sic)”
Mandy first announced her pregnancy in May via Instagram, sharing a photo of her two sons wearing white T-shirts that read “Big” and “Middle”.
The actress – who has been married to Taylor since 2018 – captioned the snap on Instagram: “Sometimes life imitates art. The third in our own Big Three coming soon. Can’t wait for these boys to have a baby sister. [heart emojis] (sic)”
Mandy’s social media post was a reference to her ‘This Is Us’ storyline, as her on-screen character was also a parent to two boys and a girl.
She previously admitted she’s found motherhood to be a “challenging and rewarding” experience which has changed her entire outlook on life.
Speaking to PEOPLE back in 2021, Mandy explained: “Being a mom has certainly made me aware of how challenging and rewarding motherhood is.”
Despite this, Mandy acknowledged that she’s in a much better and more privileged position than many other mothers around the world.
She said: “It truly takes a village. I’m very conscious of how fortunate we are to not have had to struggle to meet Gus’ basic human needs.
“There are so many women, moms and their children, who don’t have that ability and have to overcome challenges I can’t even imagine.”

Kylie Jenner is ‘turning into a homebody’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner is reportedly turning into a “homebody”.
‘The Kardashians’ star is said to be shunning the showbiz party circuit and closing the door on her “Hollywood friendships” to focus on her budding romance with actor Timothée Chalamet and being at home with her two kids, Stormi, six, and Aire, two, with her apper ex Travis Scott.
A source told DailyMail.com: “She is choosing to be a homebody for the most part. For Kylie, it is her family, her kids and then obviously she is all in on hanging out with Timothée. …
“Time for going out and doing the Hollywood friendship thing is long past her. She is 27 going on 70. What suits her now is being out there when she needs to be, not because she wants to be. She is so busy with her relationship and being a mom and a businesswoman.”
The report went on to suggest Kylie is mostly only hanging out with one friend – her longtime pal Anastasia ‘Stassie’ Karanikolaou – who is said to be her only “close” girlfriend at the moment.
Another insider added: “[Stassie] is the only person that Kylie turns to and the only person that has had her back no matter what and not burned her. Kylie has shut out all her other friends. She is with Timothée as much as possible but spends more time with Stassie than him even.”
Kylie celebrated her 27th birthday in the Bahamas earlier this month with Timothée and a close group of pals – including Stassie -for a celebration onboard a luxury yacht.
The reality TV star recently opened up about her birthday in an interview with Vogue admitting she finally feels like herself again after battling postpartum depression following the birth of her son Aire in 2022.
She explained: “I’m going to be 27, and I’m finally feeling like myself again, and (in hindsight) I think, being pregnant, I wore sweatpants every day, I didn’t have time to figure out even some of the little things in my life, and then postpartum lasted a year.
“Mentally, it’s really hard. Hormonally, it’s really hard. I didn’t know how to dress.”

Nick Cave struggled with his mental health recording album after son’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Cave regrets ploughing ahead with recording an album in the aftermath of his son’s death because it made his mental health “worse”.
The 66-year-old rocker was working on ‘Skeleton Tree’ – his 16th album with his band the Bad Seeds – in 2015 when his 15-year-old son Arthur fell from a cliff near the family home in Brighton, England and Nick went ahead with work on the record despite his grief – even changing some of the songs to reflect themes of loss.
However, he now wishes he had not thrown himself back into the project so soon because it worsened his suffering. He told The Sunday Times newspaper: “That is the only album that made matters worse – my mental health was made worse, because I did it very soon after my son died, and I shouldn’t have done.”
The album was released in 2016 little more than a year after Arthur’s death.
During the interview the musician went on to talk about how he’s doing almost a decade on from the tragedy.
Nick admitted he and his wife Susie Bick have managed to find some happiness again but they will never have “closure” following the loss of Arthur and the subsequent death of the rocker’s elder son Jethro from a previous relationship, who passed away aged 31 in 2022.
He explained: “I’m very uncertain about what happens after you die, but it concerned me how the spirit of Arthur would feel if he saw the misery his mother and father were going through – because of his passing … One thing we can say to him now is that things are OK. I say that cautiously.
“There’s no closure. Things haven’t settled back to the place they were, before Arthur or Jethro died. However, we are happy.”

Gillian Anderson refuses to give up her US passport

OHMYGOSSIP — Gillian Anderson has vowed to never to give up her American passport despite living in the UK for the last 22 years.
‘The X Files’ star was born in Chicago but moved with her family to London where she spent much of her childhood before returning to the US when she was 11 and Gillian later moved back to the British capital as an adult in 2002.
Gillian has now insisted she feels strongly about keeping hold of her American roots even though she’s very happy living in London. She told the Guardian newspaper: “It feels like my cells are American, and my soul is British. So if you ask me to give up my American passport, I would say it doesn’t feel right, no. Absolutely not. I’m American.
“And if you asked me to leave living in the UK? I’d say this is where I’m most comfortable, understood, accepted. So f*** off.”
Gillian previously admitted she speaks with both an American and British accent and slips between them fairly regularly.
In an interview with The Telegraph newspaper, she explained: “It goes back and forth because I grew up in both places, so it depends on who I’m talking to.
“So usually when I’m talking to Brits, it slides into British, and vice versa for American. Sometimes it’s conscious because I know that somebody will be thrown by it and so I’ll consciously do it.
“Even on the phone my accent will change. Part of me wishes I could control it, but I can’t. I just slip into one or the other. When I moved to the States I tried hard to cling on to my British accent because it made me different.”

Naomi Ackie deleted Instagram because it made her ‘jealous, sad and depressed’

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Ackie deleted her Instagram account because it made her feel “jealous, sad and depressed”.
The 31-year-old actress has revealed she previously ditched the social media platform after she was cast in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker’ because she was worried about racist trolling after her castmate John Boyega was bombarded with abuse after he landed his role in the franchise.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I had heard that anyone of colour would get wrapped up in some racist s***. I didn’t want to have a place for them to come with their comments.”
However, she later changed her mind and returned to the platform with the help of bosses at Disney – the studio behind the latest ‘Star Wars’ movies – but Naomi found her relationship with Instagram soon turned toxic as she started spending more time on the platform.
She explained: “I eventually found myself scrolling too much, comparing myself to other people and becoming jealous, sad and depressed. I started putting stuff on my page that was attention-seeking.
“Trying to be funny on my Insta stories, or trying to be hot, trying to be a thirst trap from my f***** house share that I lived in with three other guys.”
Naomi eventually realised using the app was not healthy and decided to delete it for good.
She added: “It was like, what the f***, this is not working at all and I don’t feel good about it. I eventually realised it was time to get rid of it properly.”
In the interview, Naomi revealed she’s also had trouble with X – previously known as Twitter – and spent hours scrolling through looking for negative comments following the release of her Whitney Houston biopic ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’.
She told the publication: “Even after I saw the good reviews, I’d keep scrolling. Like, putting my name into Twitter to see if anyone hated me. I remember I saw one thing that said like, why is she playing Whitney Houston, she’s a D-list celebrity with a gap smile.
“At the time it felt like the end of the world, but now there’s a movie poster with my gap.”

Christina Perri wants to be honest about motherhood

OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Perri wants to be honest about motherhood.
The 38-year-old singer – who has Carmella, six, and Pixie Rose, 22 months with husband Paul Costabile – has turned her hit song ‘A Thousand Years’ into a book about being a parent and wanted to showcase her “real life” with the project and be open about things like lack of sleep.
She told People: “All I do is live my real life, in the season of motherhood and singing to my girls. It’s been my favourite part. It made so much sense. With each of these projects, we didn’t overthink it or try something that was inauthentic. I didn’t want to go backward and pretend that I didn’t become a mom.
“I didn’t want to pretend that I’d actually slept for six years. I’d rather everyone know where I’m at and that 100% made sense for me. Because the audience has grown up with me, people have followed along. Their lives are legit following the same timeline and are on the same trajectory as mine. It feels like such a sweet spot in music and creativity and I’m really grateful for it.”
The ‘Jar of Hearts’ songstress was recently trying to sing to her youngest at bedtime but revealed that the little one had become picky about which song she wanted to hear.
She said: “Last night, I was laughing hysterically because my almost 2-year-old, Pixie, is so particular. I call her my spicy one. I asked her if I could sing to her when I was putting her to bed and she says yeah. So I start singing all the different songs and each time, she goes, ‘No, no,’.
“I went through my whole lullaby album and I was like, ‘Girlfriend, what do you want?’ Finally, I said, ‘Pixie Dust,’ which is a song I wrote for her, and she said yes. She knew.”

Tori Spelling felt like she had ‘gone through a divorce’ when she lost touch with Brian Austin Green

The 51-year-old actress starred opposite Brian, also 51, on the hit drama series ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ in the 1990s but she rightly predicted that they would lose touch as soon as the show ended in 2000.
Speaking to Brian on his ‘Oldish’ podcast, she explained: “I remember our last conversation and the last thing we said to each other before those 18 years. I was crying. I remember crying that we were going to lose touch because we were so close. It was almost like going through a divorce or something.”
Brian explained that he did try to maintain a “connection” between them in the time that followed the ending of the show but by the time they next really saw each other, she had married Dean McDermott – with whom she went on to have Liam, 17, Stella, 16, Hattie, 12, Finn,11 and seven-year-old Beau but split from him in 2024 – and he was with his now ex-wife Megan Fox.
He said: “What I remember is going by [your then-boyfriend and our former costar] Vincent [Young]’s house to see you multiple days after we wrapped and trying to keep a connection going. But it got to the point where I just never got that from you. And then I remember being at the 90210 DVD release party and you were married to Dean and I was with Megan, when we were still just dating — you guys got there and you never said hello to me once. I just kept missing you guys and then you were gone.
“It was just this thing of like, ‘She just doesn’t want to be my friend.’ I genuinely felt that way.
“I tried to visit you and I would call you. When that wasn’t reciprocated and so I gave up. I didn’t know what was going on in your life.”
Tori explained that she “shied away” from her former co-star because he didnd’t necessarily approve of her relationship with Vincent but insisted that she “never stopped thinking about Brian in the years they lost touch.
She said: “I shied away from you because you weren’t a fan of [my] relationship [with Vincent]. You had a good working relationship with Vincent but I don’t think you felt like our personal relationship was something that was correct for me.
“My process was different and I would shy away from those that would really fight for me. I never stopped thinking about you and never stopped wanting to reach out and reconnect.”

Batman obsessive Matthew Perry ‘called ketamine-injecting assistant Alfred’

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Perry is said to have been so obsessed with Batman he called the assistant who injected him with his final doses of ketamine ‘Alfred’.
The ‘Friends’ actor nicknamed himself ‘Mattman’ in his final Instagram posts due to his worship of the caped crusader, which were uploaded before he was killed on 28 October, 2023, aged 54 from the “acute effects” of anaesthetic ketamine.
It’s now been reported by the Daily Mail Matthew’s live-in assistant Kenny Iwamasa, 59, was “known as ‘Alfred’ to Perry’s ‘Batman’” – in reference to the comic book vigilante’s 24/7 butler.
Iwamasa admitted in court documents he injected Matthew with three doses of ketamine in his final hours.
He made the confession in a set of plea agreement papers he signed after he and four others were arrested in connection with supplying the ‘Friends’ star with the drugs that killed the actor.
The papers show the injections were administered by non-medically trained Iwamasa from 8.30am on the day Matthew died in the hot tub of his $6 million Pacific Palisades mansion in Los Angeles.
They say after the first dose, Matthew’s assistant gave him another one four hours later – and yet another 40 minutes later.
It was before the third injection Matthew told him: “Shoot me up with a big one.”
The actor is said to have then told Iwamasa to start up the hot tub where his assistant later found him dead with his head in the water after his employee went to run a set of errands.
It’s also been reported by the Mail Matthew let go his nursing team – who had been on his payroll for years due to his addictions and health issues – before his death.
One source told the newspaper the actor “had very few people around him late last year” and was “very isolated” before his passing.
Matthew’s assistant Briana Brancato left the actor’s employ in 2023 after seven years, a year after his live-in sober companion Morgan Moses also stopped working for the star.
