OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman hopes ‘Babygirl’ proves to be a “liberating story” for women.
The Oscar-winning actress stars in the new erotic thriller film, and Nicole has admitted that she found making the movie to be a “very freeing” experience.
Nicole, 57 – who is married to music star Keith Urban – said at the Venice Film Festival: “This is one woman’s story and this is, I hope, a very liberating story.
“It’s told by a woman, through her gaze – Halina [Reijn] wrote it and she directed it – and that’s to me what made it so unique because suddenly I was going to be in the hands of a woman with this material. It was very dear to our shared instincts and very freeing.”
Nicole also praised the film’s director for helping her to feel comfortable on set.
She said: “I knew she wasn’t going to exploit me. However anyone interprets that, I didn’t feel exploited. I felt very much a part of it.

Earlier this week, Nicole revealed that she felt nervous about watching the movie at the Venice Film Festival.
The actress – who portrays a high-ranking CEO in the new erotic thriller film – told Vanity Fair magazine: “There’s something in me going: ‘Okay, this was made for the big screen and to be seen with people.’ I’m not sure I have that much bravery.”

David Beckham wants soccer fans to chant his name again

OHMYGOSSIP — David Beckham would love to hear soccer fans chant his name again.
The 49-year-old soccer star has revealed that he would love to hear Manchester United supporters chant his name during a game – even though he left the English club in 2003.
David – who is also life-long fan of the team – said on the First We Feast YouTube channel: “The fans sing a lot about older players and players from the past, but I never seem to hear it as much. Maybe because I don’t go to many games, but even on the telly I hear songs about Eric Cantona and Bryan Robson and Roy Keane from Manchester United fans, but I very rarely hear, ‘There’s only one David Beckham.’
“That was only really the only chant that I wanted to hear and I’d like to hear it again.
“If any United fans are watching, please! Just from time to time. I’m still a United fan. Every now and again, ‘There’s only one David Beckham.’”
The former England captain left United to join Real Madrid more than 20 years ago.
However, David previously admitted that he never actually wanted to leave the club, suggesting that he was forced out by Sir Alex Ferguson, the former United manager.
He told the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast: “I didn’t want to leave Manchester United at the time – we’d just won the league again, but all of a sudden I get a phone call to be told that Manchester United had agreed a deal, and that was the end of it.
“Even trying to speak to the manager after that, he didn’t want to talk to me. It wasn’t out of spite, he was on holiday, he didn’t want to be contacted, he’d made his decision and that was the end of it.”

Despite this, Angelina acknowledged that she still likes to spend time with the people she loves.

“I’m not somebody begging to be alone. I’m not that person that feels like, ‘Oh, I wish I could just be alone so I could have my guilty pleasures.’ Because usually my guilty pleasure is being with somebody. I love doing something that makes them happy. That really does make me happy.”
Angelina also believes she’s been able to develop a strong bond with her fans through her film projects.
The Hollywood star explained: “To go into a room full of people you don’t know, and have a lot in common very quickly because somehow you’ve been in their home on the television or you made their children laugh or they know something personal, that’s really nice.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooke Shields thinks more women should consider having IVF treatment.
The 59-year-old actress – who has daughters Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18 – believes younger women should be more open to the idea of having IVF treatment.
Brooke – who is married to film director Chris Henchy – told PEOPLE: “In my generation, we were told career, career and that takes time and years and then you get to a place, you’re in your thirties and all of a sudden, you can start having trouble and so I always ask people, ‘Have you frozen your eggs?’ That’s also an important conversation for young women.”
Rowan has admitted that she simply “wouldn’t be here without IVF”.
She said: “My mom went through a lot and IVF too.
“I wouldn’t be here without IVF. I was frozen for two years and I think mom talking about it with us from an early age, we are now aware. That’s an important conversation for young women.”

The model revealed that she feels more energised and more confident than ever before.
Brooke – who turned 59 in May – told Allure: “I am more youthful now than I was in my youth. My energy, my confidence, my lack of self-judgement.
“The negative tapes that I played [in my mind] … they don’t play anymore. They’re all stretched out.”
Brooke confessed to feeling under pressure to look a certain way during her younger years.
She explained: “I spent a great deal of my life trying to live up to an expectation that was presented as me.
“I’m not good enough because I don’t look like that, or that’s what I need to be doing. ‘Well, you’ve never done runway, Brooke, because you’re athletic’ – that’s a euphemism for ‘not skinny.’
“As a model in your younger days, those are the messages you get – all about what you’re not. Then you get to this age and you start going through this list of all the things you are. And it’s so much more empowering than the chipping away of yourself that I did.”

Doctor charged in Matthew Perry case accepts plea deal

OHMYGOSSIP — One of the doctors charged in relation to Matthew Perry’s death has accepted a plea deal.
Mark Chavez is set to plead guilty to one drug charge after he was charged with conspiring to distribute ketamine and Judge Jean Rosenblut agreed to allow the plea deal to go forward.
He also allowed the doctor to remain free on a $50,000 unsecured bond with conditions, including handing in his passport.
Chavez’s attorney Matthew Binninger told reporters outside the court: “He is trying to do everything in his power to right the wrong that happened here. He is doing everything in his power to cooperate, to help in this situation, and he’s incredibly remorseful.
“He’s doing everything in his power to cooperate and help with this situation. [Perry was] “universally beloved, and it’s a shame what happened.”
According to ABC News, Binninger said Chavez agreed to a plea deal because federal investigators “did an excellent job in their investigation”.
Although Chavez pleaded not guilty during his most recent court appearance, he will later plead guilty during a change of plea hearing after accepting the deal.
NBC News reports that Binninger said: “My client wants to do the right thing. He’ll be cooperating going forward.”
Matthew – who shot to fame playing Chandler Bing on NBC sitcom ‘Friends’ from 1994 to 2004 – died on 28 October, 2023, aged 54 from the “acute effects” of anaesthetic ketamine after receiving three injections of the drug.
US Attorney Martin Estrada previously said two doctors charged in connection to the actor’s death “cared more about profiting off of Mr Perry than caring for his well-being”.
He added: “Matthew Perry’s journey began with unscrupulous doctors who abused their position of trust because they saw him as a payday, to street dealers who gave him ketamine in unmarked vials.”

Gemma Arterton worried her son wouldn’t recognise her when filming second series of Funny Woman

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Arterton was worried her young son didn’t recognise her when she was filming the second series of ‘Funny Woman’.
The 38-year-old English actress – who is married to ‘Peaky Blinders’ star Rory Keenan – took her 20-month-old son with her when filming the second series of the TV comedy-drama TV and was worried he wouldn’t recognise her as she dyed her hair blonde for the role.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “So he was with me. I dyed my hair blonde this season and it sounds ridiculous, but I was convinced he didn’t recognise me!
“He’d see me for an hour or something a day, I’d be dressed as Sophie and I just don’t look like myself when I’m playing her – with the costumes and the hair and make up – so I was convinced he didn’t know I was his mum. I found that quite hard.
“The good thing about this job is that it’s intense when you’re filming for three or four months, but then you might have months off where you can just be with your child. It was hard not to be with him but its ok. He’s forgiven me. He recognises me.”
Discussing the trajectory of her acting career, Gemma previously revealed she was told to drop her hometown accent or she would spend the rest of her career playing “maids”.
The former Bond girl – who grew up in a working class family in Gravesend, Kent, South East England – studied acting at London’s prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and her teachers warned her to improve her elocution and lose her Kent brogue because it could have a negative impact on her prospects.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, she explained: “[My accent] was associated with people from less affluent backgrounds. It’s different now at drama school but in my day, we were told to lose the accent or you’d only play maids or whatever. It’s a shame because I did have a strong working-class estuary accent. I feel a bit sad that it’s gone.”
However, Gemma admits her Kent accent does return after she’s enjoyed some alcoholic refreshments or when she’s spending time with her family.
She shared: “Yes [it comes out after a few drinks]! Or around my family. If I’m on the phone to my dad, my husband says my accent really changes.”

‘I don’t live my life online…’ Winona Ryder reveals her attitude to the internet

OHMYGOSSIP — Winona Ryder doesn’t really use the internet.
The 52-year-old actress has revealed that she doesn’t “live life online” and rarely surfs the worldwide web, preferring to live in the real world.
She told the new issue of Esquire magazine: “I don’t live my life online.”
When asked if she ever uses the internet, she said: “I know how to use it,” and when quizzed on if she searches for things on ‘Google’, she added: “I have.”
Winona’s main gripe with the internet is the creation and rise of social media, and she fears that the instant gratification provided by apps like TikTok and Instagram has stopped the younger generation from engaging with true artforms.
She said: “I just think that social media has changed everything, and I know I sound old. I’m very aware of that. And part of me thinks, ‘Gosh, am I like vaudeville at this point?’ Like [elderly lady voice], ‘Hey, kids, turn down the music!’
“But I just think there was such an abundance: the history of film, the history of photography, it’s so rich, and there’s so much there, and I don’t mean we should go backwards, but I wish and I hope that the younger generation will study that.”
Meanwhile, Winona admitted it is “nuts” to have been part of such a hugely popular show as ‘Stranger Things’ for so long.
The Golden Globe winner – who plays Joyce Byers in the Netflix sci-fi series – said: “Ten years! I never thought. [At first] I was like, ‘I don’t want to be doing this when I’m in my 50s!’ It’s nuts, and its extra nuts to be my age. But I love the boys and I love [the actors] Sadie [Sink] and Maya [Hawke]. It’s been really wonderful.
“I’ve gone from being the youngest person on set to being the oldest. And I’m not oblivious in any way about the reason they came to me for it. I know there is an element of nostalgia [to my casting].”
The Autumn issue of Esquire UK is on sale now.

She said: “I think ‘My So-Called Life’ was a first, and I think that’s why it had such a limited lifespan. It was so new I think people didn’t immediately know how to register it.”
