Tori Spelling admits it’s a ‘hard time’ to do Dancing with the Stars after Shannen Doherty loss

OHMYGOSSIP — Tori Spelling admits it’s a “hard time” to being doing ‘Dancing with the Stars’ following the passing of Shannen Doherty – but her late co-star taught her that “when you commit, you commit”.
The 51-year-old actress is following in the footsteps of her ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ co-star and close friend – who lost her lengthy battle with cancer on July 13 aged 53 – by taking part in the next series of the ABC reality dance competition, and she knows Shannen would have been willing her on.
She told PEOPLE: “It’s definitely a hard time with doing the show and all the excitement and having lost Shan so recently. But I remember she loved doing it and was totally in it.
“She definitely in life has inspired me that, you know, when you commit, you commit. And I definitely, this season, she has encouraged me to turn my power on.
“So I’ll take that with me.”
Tori also had the encouragement of another ‘Beverly Hills, 90210′ star, Brian Austin Green, 51, who also competed on the show in 2021.
She said: “Brian Austin Green has known the whole time since I got that phone call.
“So the whole time, I was like,’ I don’t know. What should I do? Should I do it?’ And he was like, ‘You will be amazing. You need to do this.’ ”
Tori has been partnered with professional dancer Pasha Pashkov and Brian’s partner, Sharna Burgess – a former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ pro – believes they have the potential to go far in the competition.
She said: “Sharna is totally like, since the beginning, I was like, ‘Sharna, who do you think I’m going to get? Who’s my partner?’
“And she literally went through everybody and was saying, ‘ Here’s why I think they would work for you’ and everything.”

Taraji P. Henson did not expect to go viral with her comments about money: ‘The math ain’t mathing’

OHMYGOSSIP — Taraji P. Henson did not expect to go viral with her comments about money.
The 53-year-old actress tearfully admitted earlier this year she considered walking away from acting because of how little she thought she was being paid and has no idea why that time in particular was the moment that grabbed the world’s attention but is sure that “everything happens for a reason”.
She told US TV show ‘Extra’: “I didn’t start the conversation. I was asked a question and I answered. It’s a question that I’ve been asked throughout my entire career.
“Why that time was chosen to shine a light and amplify and people hear it, that’s not up to me. But it’s not new news — certainly not new news in Hollywood, and I’m not the only one saying it. So, you know, everything happens for a reason. I guess that was the time that it was to be heard.”
The ‘Color Purple’ star famous claimed that the “math ain’t mathing” when she broke down all the expenses that come with being an actress before she even gets to see her salary.
Speaking on SiriusXM, she said: “I’m just tired of working so hard, being gracious at what I do, and getting paid a fraction of the cost. I’m tired of hearing my sisters saying the same thing over and over. I hear people go, ‘You work a lot.’ I have to. The math ain’t mathing.
“When you start working a lot, you have a team.
“Big bills come with what we do. We don’t do this alone. There’s a whole entire team behind us and they have to get paid. So when you hear someone saying ‘Oh such-and-such made $10 million.’ That didn’t make it to their account.
“Know that off the top, Uncle Sam is getting 50 per cent. So now we’re at five million. Your team is getting 30 percent of whatever you gross. Not after what Uncle Sam took. Now do the math.
“I’m only human and it seems every time I do something and I break another glass ceiling, when it’s time to renegotiate I’m at the bottom again like I never did what I just did.”

Chloe Bailey opens up on unique bond with her nephew: ‘I feel like I birthed him…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Bailey feels as if she “birthed” her sister’s baby.
The 26-year-old singer became an aunt for the first time in December 2023 when her sister Halle, 24, welcomed son Halo with rapper DDG and she has now shared that she feels so close to the little one that she could be his mother.
She told E! News: “It’s been absolutely incredible. That’s my baby boy right there. Halo is the light of my life. I feel like I birthed him. I will go to bat for her, just like she would go to bat for me.”
Halle kept her pregnancy out of the public eye and refused to confirm speculation she was expecting her first child, and she later explained why she had decided to do so.
Speaking in a video posted on Snapchat via the Snapchat Reply function, Halle told her followers: “I really appreciate people … who are kind and understanding especially of me wanting to wait to share something this sacred and beautiful. I just wanted to make sure that I had a beautiful, private, healthy time in my journey … ”
The ‘Little Mermaid’ star went on to reveal she did her best to avoid social media as much as possible during her pregnancy as she didn’t want to comment on all the baby rumours.
Halle said: “I stayed off all social media, I really tried to, just to keep myself sane and ok. I know there was a lot of people who would always comment and be like: ‘We know, girl, we know,’ and I was like: ‘It’s great that you know but I’m going to just chill. That’s wonderful if you support me. If you don’t I hope you have a wonderful life’.”

Travis Kelce was ‘very cautious’ to tell people about Taylor Swift romance

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Kelce was “very cautious” about telling people about his romance with Taylor Swift.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, and the pop megastar are believed to have got together in July 2023 and Taylor went on to make her first public appearance supporting Travis at one of his football games a year ago.
Travis’ brother says due to the ‘Cruel Summer’ hitmaker’s life being under “such a microscope”, the NFL star wanted to make sure they were “respectful to peoples’ privacy” and so he waited to tell his family about his relationship with the 34-year-old Grammy winner.
His sibling told ‘The Pivot Podcast’: “I think he was very cautious about even telling me or anybody.
“Because the reality is, [Swift] is under such a microscope.
“I think that they wanted to make sure everything was done in a way that was respectful to peoples’ privacy. And I think they’re still trying to do that. And, like, even now, I want to be respectful of them. And I don’t want anybody to feel like … I’m violating some type of private relationship, right?”
Likewise, retired NFL star Jason – who hosts the ‘New Heights’ podcast with his brother – is always cautious to discuss their relationship.
He insisted: “It’s really not my place to speak on their relationship. But he is my brother and I’m very happy for him.”
Taylor previously admitted the pair enjoyed plenty of time together at the start of their romance before going public.
She revealed they started hanging out after the sportsman mentioned her on ‘New Heights’.
She told Time magazine: “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
Taylor added of their first public outing together: “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game?. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there, and we don’t care.
“The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

The late actor was known for his starring roles in hit films such as ‘Dirty Dancing’ and ‘Ghost’ but passed away in 2009 following a battle with pancreatic cancer in September 2009, and upon the 15th anniversary of his death, Kate Edwards has remembered him for his “commitment” to fans around the world with his performances.
She told this week’s edition of Us Weekly: “When you go see a Patrick Swayze film, you know before a single frame is shown that no matter what, he’ll take care of business and he’ll take care of you. It’s that promise and commitment to the viewer that keeps us coming back again and again, and it’s why he’ll remain a movie star forever.”
Kate also noted that the Hollywood star – who was married to Lisa Niemi from 1975 until his death – was the “ultimate risk-taker” in his career and that gave him more motivation than anything else in life.
She said: “Patrick was the ultimate risk-taker. He pushed himself to the very edge of no return in most everything he did. He liked that edge and the adrenaline that came with it. It fed him more than any food.”
The ‘She’s Like The Wind’ singer – who was named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine in 1991 – was also remembered by his longtime assistant Rosemary Hygate, who noted that the tragic Hollywood star simply passed away “too young”.
She said: “He was smart, funny, articulate [and] insanely talented in so many different disciplines. The world lost an amazing human when he passed too young.”

Fans applaud Johnny Depp’s dental makeover

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Depp appears to have undergone extensive dental work.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor sparked concern from fans at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival when promoting his film ‘Jeanne du Barry’ because of his “rotting” smile, with several of his teeth appearing discoloured or damaged, but in a new clip shared to Instagram, the 61-year-old star had a full set of pearly whites on display.

He told Premiere magazine in 1995: “I had a root canal done eight years ago that’s unfinished. It’s like a rotten little stub.
“When I see people with perfect teeth, it drives me up the wall. I’d rather swallow a tick than have that!”

In a video message as he accepted the Global Contribution to Motion Picture award at the National Film Awards in London, he said: “Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to speak to you today. I feel very lucky, and I feel very honoured that you – all of you – allow me to still continue to do the work that I love to do.

Anna Delvey had to seek permission from immigration to take part in ‘Dancing with the Stars’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Delvey had to seek permission from ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) before she could take part in ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
The convicted fraudster – who was jailed in 2019 after being found guilty of stealing $300,000 from friends and financial institutions and attempting to steal $22 million from a New York bank -has been under house arrest since her release in 2022 but she is now allowed to work and travel within a 70-mile radius if her home, though she still had to get permission to take part in the upcoming season of the ABC dance contest.
Anna – whose real name is Anna Sorokin and is originally from Russia – told People magazine: “Well, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ approached my team and I had to request ICE for permission to travel out of state because its being filmed in Los Angeles and I’m based in New York.
“It took them about 10 days to get it through the system and to get everything approved.
“By the time I got the approval, it was very close to the starting day so I kind of flew to LA pretty much the next day and I just decided why not?”
Anna will be appearing on the show alongside her partner Ezra Sosa under the condition that she continues to wear her ankle monitor throughout, but she insisted the electronic tag won’t hinder her performance.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “In what way would it affect my performance? It’s actually pretty light.”
Ezra praised his partner’s “dance ability” and declared he is “excited for America to actually see” the socialite and “how she is.”
He added: “The media has seen a representation of her that I personally think is not her.”
Anna’s story was previously made into Netflix’s mini-series ‘Inventing Anna’ by Shonda Rhimes, with a cast including Julia Garner and Anna Chlumsky.

John Legend’s family need ‘all hands on deck’

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend and Chrissy Teigen need “all hands on deck” to manage their family
The couple are parents to Luna, eight, Miles, six, Esti, 20 months, and 15-month-old Wren, and while they love seeing their brood grow and develop, the ‘Ordinary People’ hitmaker admitted juggling their needs can be intense.
John told People magazine: “It’s truly non-stop.
“They’re so cute, and it’s interesting to see their personalities develop, but it’s all hands on-deck.”
The 45-year-old star enlisted the services of Chrissy, 38, and their two eldest children to sing on ‘Love’, the lead track from his new album ‘My Favourite Dream’, and once he had “wrangled” them into the studio, John had fun showing his kids how the recording process works.
He said: “It’s four voices singing over top of each other.
“We recorded a video of me trying to wrangle them and show them how to navigate the studio.
“The main thing was keeping everybody on time with the tempo and everything.
“And they’re not used to singing and using headphones and things of that nature.
“So all the things that I am so used to that I kind of take for granted since I do them all the time, you have to kind of show them how to navigate.”
Both Luna and Miles picked things up “quick and easy”.
Their dad added: “My studio’s right by their school and Chrissy and I were doing a shoot there that day.
“The kids came by after school and it took us probably about 10 minutes to finish.
“Once they got used to using the headphones and everything it was pretty easy for them to knock it out.”
However, fans shouldn’t expect the pair to be giving their famous father a run for his money any time soon.
He laughed: “Chrissy’s the more polished vocalist.”

She said on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’: “What’s been so cool is that all of these fans, all of my little family, we’ve been growing up at the same time.
“So many kids, especially in L.A. because I’m from here and I’m around and stuff, when I was first starting out there would be certain kids that I would see at everything I would do, and we were all the same age.”
“So they would come to stuff and I would see them multiple times a year and then not for a couple years, and then I’d see them again. Over the years I’ve seen the same faces multiple times, and it feels like seeing my old friends again.”
The ‘Lunch’ singer previously revealed she has lost a lot of friends since she became famous.
She said on the BBC podcast ‘Miss Me?’ with hosts Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver: “Well I lost all of my friends when I got famous.

UK prosecutors drop indecent assault charges against Harvey Weinstein

OHMYGOSSIP — Indecent assault charges against Harvey Weinstein in the UK have been dropped.
The disgraced movie mogul – who is currently serving a 16-year sentence after being convicted on three counts of sexual assault in a Los Angeles court in 2022 and awaiting a retrial after his 2020 convictions for first degree criminal sexual assault and third degree rape were overturned in April after the New York Court of Appeals ruled he didn’t receive a fair trial – had been under investigation by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), but the case will no longer be pursued as there is not a “realistic prospect of conviction”.
The CPS authorised two indecent assault against a woman charges in June 2022, stepping from an alleged incident in London in 1996, but they have now dropped the case.
Frank Ferguson, head of the CPS Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division, said in a statement: “Following a review of the evidence in this case, the CPS has decided to discontinue criminal proceedings against Harvey Weinstein. The CPS has a duty to keep all cases under continuous review and we have decided that there is no longer a realistic prospect of conviction.
“We have explained our decision to all parties.
“We would always encourage any potential victims of sexual assault to come forward and report to police and we will prosecute wherever our legal test is met.”
In 2020, Weinstein, 72, was found guilty of first degree criminal sexual assault and third degree rape based on the testimony of production assistant Miriam Haley and former actress Jessica Mann but the convictions were overturned this year after an appellate court ruled the judge prejudiced the jury by allowing women to testify about sexual harassment and assault allegations that were not part of the case behind heard.
A retrial in the New York case is scheduled to begin in November.

Simon Cowell thinks Carrie Underwood is a ‘great choice’ as American Idol judge

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell thinks Carrie Underwood was a “good choice” to be the new judge on ‘American Idol.’
It was revealed last month that the ‘Before He Cheats’ hitmaker will be replacing Katy Perry as a judge on the singing competition show and the music mogul – who was one of the panellists when Carrie won the fourth season of the talent contest in 2005 – is very happy for the country star.
Asked about Carrie’s appointment alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, Simon told E! News: “I think it’s a good choice.
“Carrie, we go back a long way. I remember her audition like it was yesterday. She was so good, she’s such a sweet person.”
When asked if Simon had any tips for being a judge for Carrie, Simon advised that you have to be honest with your opinions.
He added: “You just gotta say how you feel.
“It’s not that difficult doing this job, I promise you. We all feel the same things and we don’t agree, thank God. Otherwise, life would be boring. And just enjoy it.”
Carrie recently vowed to be “honest” on the show, but also wants to be “kind” because she doesn’t want to crush the contestants’ dreams.
Speaking during a surprise appearance at SiriusXM’s ‘Music Row Happy Hour in Las Vegas’, she said: “I think I can be honest and constructive, but still kind. And I think that’s the whole point, because people are coming in and it’s dreams. You’re part of somebody’s story from that moment on.”
Despite her country music background, Carrie believes her career has shown enough versatility over the years for her to be credible in commenting on many other genres.
She said: “I feel like I’ve been so blessed to obviously be so rooted in country music, but I’ve been able to be a part of many other genres or music as well.
“I mean, I’ve got a song with Papa Roach right now. It’s a lot of fun.
“I like to think that I am versatile. And, hopefully, when I listen to people come and audition, I can have any lens I need to put on in terms of what music I’m thinking.”

Joaquin Phoenix won’t lose weight for roles again

OHMYGOSSIP — Joaquin Phoenix won’t lose weight for a movie role again.
The 49-year-old actor famously shed 52lbs to play Arthur Fleck in 2020 movie ‘The Joker’, saying at the time he ate mainly lettuce and steamed vegetables, and while he didn’t want to dwell on his diet while making upcoming sequel ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’, he admitted it was “more difficult” to manage this time around.
Speaking at a press conference for the movie at the Venice Film Festival, Variety reports he said: “I’m not going to talk through specifics of the diet, because I just think nobody wants to hear that.
“But this time, it felt a bit more complicated just because there was so much dance rehearsal that we were doing, which I didn’t have last time.
“So it felt a bit more difficult, but it is safe.
“But you’re right, I’m now 49, I probably shouldn’t do this again. This is probably it for me.”
After the ‘Joker’ press tour, Joaquin was “sick of [himself]” and “angry” that he’d discussed his weight loss because it was just part of his job but he felt like he’d made too much of a “big deal” of it, so won’t be drawn into such discussions this time.
Asked how much weight he lost this time round, he said: “I know I was responsible last time for talking about it, but it’s difficult to do so that becomes your obsession because you’re working the entire time to get to a certain weight.
“So then you end up talking about it, and then it just sounds like an actor going on and on about how much weight they lost.
“By the end of that run I was so sick of myself and angry at myself for making such a big deal about that part, because you just do what you’re fucking supposed to do. So this time I was like, ‘I’m not going to do that.’”
He then whispered into the mic: “It was 47 pounds… No, I’m joking. I don’t know.”

Michael Keaton doesn’t regret turning down big movies to raise his child

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Keaton has no regrets about turning down big movies to raise his son.
The ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ star admitted he turned down some high-profile roles over the years in favour of being with Sean Douglas – his only child with late ex-wife Caroline McWilliams – and now the 41-year-old songwriter’s own kids River, seven, and Maggie, five, and even though some of those projects did exceedingly well, he wouldn’t have done anything differently.
He told the new issue of People magazine: “That’s only going to happen one time — he’s only going to be a kid [for a bit].
“You look back, and you go, ‘Zero regret. Zero, zero. That’s not to say if I’ll see a movie that I didn’t do, and I go, ‘Oh, boy. That turned out to be a good movie.’ But the choice was always the correct choice. I always wanted to be a dad.”
The ‘Batman’ actor also quipped that he earned the name ‘Dr. No’ for how often he turned down parts and joked: “I could have made a lot more money.”
The 73-year-old actor thinks he has been a “great” dad to Sean, but also offered “enormous credit” to Caroline, who died of cancer in 2010.
He said: “I will take credit for being a good father. I will give his mom enormous credit for being a tremendous mom. Great, great, great mom. And that’s why he’s a good kid.”
However, Michael insisted Sean didn’t need a lot of help.
He added: “But also, you know what it is? It’s him. I think there’s something in some people that’s just in them. I mean, there’s no question, parenting is not just important, it’s key, right?
“But sometimes there’s just something in certain people. So, the rest of the credit I give to him. He just is built a certain way, always was. Sweet guy, thoughtful.”
These days, the ‘Birdman’ star loves spending time with his son, daughter-in-law Rachel Bartov, and his two grandchildren.
He said: “I started going, ‘I’m not hanging out with him, and his kids, and Rachel quite enough.’ And [now] we see each other a lot.”
