Jamie-Lynn Sigler ‘proud’ of son for overcoming health crisis

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie-Lynn Sigler is “proud” of her son Beau for “coming out the other side” following a terrifying health crisis.
‘The Sopranos’ star, 43, was left terrified after the 10 year old was admitted to hospital and spent 33 days in intensive care after being diagnosed with a rare inflammatory autoimmune disorder called acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) – he has since been recovering at home and Jamie has now given an update on his condition.
She told PEOPLE: “[Beau is] doing really, really well. I’m proud of him, and he’s coming out on the other side and so, for me as a mom, I’m doing a lot better, too. [We are] stepping into a little bit of normalcy again.”
Jamie – who is also mum to second son Jack, six, with her husband Cutter Dykstra – has gone through her own health troubles over the years battling multiple sclerosis and she insists she’s very open with her kids about medical problems.
She added to the outlet: “In general, I think between my own health and now, with particular things with my kids, it’s always been really important for my family to have the confidence, knowledge and tools about what to do in case of emergency.
“We can have conversations with our kids about what to do, but in that moment of God forbid, an emergency, it feels like all those things can go out the window. Panic ensues, everybody gets nervous … I’m proud of them [the boys]. I really do feel like they are well supported and loved, because we have an open dialogue about everything.
“I use the word ’empowered a lot because I want to give them the confidence to know themselves, their bodies, their situations, what they need, and that they can ask for help.”
Jamie previously shared a moving video of Beau walking out of the hospital to a cheering crowd of family, friends, and staff.
Alongside the clip, Jamie posted on Instagram: “After 33 days, we are busting out of here! My brave boy, you are a walking miracle. The rest of this story will be Beau’s to tell, if he chooses to one day.
“Thank you to the INCREDIBLE staff at Dells Children’s Hospital. The way you take care of your patients and the way you guide their families through the process, I just don’t have enough words.
“I’m in awe of your patience, dedication, and expertise … But, no offence … I hope we never see you again. Thank you all for the love and prayers. They worked.”

Corinne Bailey Rae accuses Lily Allen of waging ‘campaign’ against her

OHMYGOSSIP — Corinne Bailey Rae has accused Lily Allen of waging a “campaign” against her.
The singer has opened up about her career in a new interview and admitted she was seen as “boring” after shooting to fame in the mid-2000s and Corinne believes that image was cultivated by pop star Lily who went out of her way to describe her chart rival as “middle of the road”.
Corinne told The Independent newspaper: “In the British press, I was seen as boring and straight. I was making acoustic music, wearing these kinds of old-fashioned dresses.
“I was also married. I was so not interesting to them … I was just seen as boring. I remember Lily Allen started this campaign against me, ‘Oh Corinne is so middle of the road.’
“She had started talking about me like that, but I wasn’t going to engage in [in a war of words]. I thought, ‘I’m not going to bother with that. Stevie Wonder likes me, so it’s OK that Lily Allen doesn’t like me. That’s fine’.”
Lily previously spoke out about Corinne when they were both nominated for the British Female Solo Artist prize at the 2007 BRIT Awards, telling The Mirror newspaper: “Corinne Bailey Rae? I think she’s a bit boring, sorry. She’s a lovely girl but I don’t think her music stands out and I’d be a bit annoyed if she won.”
The trophy was won by Amy Winehouse.
In her new interview, Corinne went on to talk about the loss of her husband Jason Rae, who died in 2008 after suffering an accidental overdose of methadone, and Corinne admits his death shouldn’t have happened.
The singer explained: “It is really annoying that it wasn’t a different story … There were so many of our friends who had done crazier things or taken more risks. It was frustrating to compare his relatively low-risk encounters to date with that one dumb decision. I guess it’s really easy to die.”
She also confessed she was startled by the attention she received in the aftermath of the tragedy: “It was a drug-related death and so suddenly everyone was so interested in me. There were rows of photographers outside the house … The fact that I wouldn’t give a statement to the press just totally infuriated them.”

LL Cool J nearly killed by animatronic shark

OHMYGOSSIP — LL Cool J was nearly killed by an animatronic shark while making 1999 movie ‘Deep Blue Sea’.
The rapper/actor played a chef in the horror film – about a group of scientists at a remote underwater research facility who are hunted by the highly intelligent genetically engineered sharks they created in a bid to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease – and he’s revealed he nearly drowned when a remote-controlled shark grabbed his leg and held him underwater.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “One of them almost drowned me. At that time the animatronic sharks weren’t AI; they were controlled by a guy with a joystick.
“He pushed the button, the shark grabbed my leg, then they called lunch and the shark just parked me underwater. After I managed to pull my leg out and get out of there, there was one dude left on set sitting there with a cigarette and he went: ‘I guess you made it out, huh?'”
LL Cool J went on to admit he had a wonderful time making the movie even if filming was precarious at times.
He added: “Making that film was dangerous, with a lot of water flying around, but it was a great experience. I had a fun time working with Sam [L Jackson]. Watching him get eaten was my favourite part.”
The rapper’s co-star Thomas Jane previously admitted he was terrified of sharks before filming the movie and his underwater scenes filmed with real creatures in the Bahamas filled him with terror.
He told Entertainment Weekly: “The first day, I was in a cage, but the next day, they swam me 30 feet down … Then this guy yanks the breather off me and the water’s churning with blood and guts and stuff … It was so terrifying that I don’t want to remember it.”

Joe Jonas recalls ‘scary’ fan encounter

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Jonas had to call security when a fan hid behind the curtains in his hotel room.
The 35-year-old singer had a “crazy” encounter while in South America when one of his young supporters was smuggled into his room by her mother, who worked at the establishment.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s BMP, he said: “I mean, I think the craziest, I just was reminded recently, we were in Chile many years ago. I walked into my hotel room and like the curtain moved and I sat on the couch.
“It was like a long travel day. I was like, ‘Huh, maybe it’s air conditioning.’ And then this fan popped up from behind the curtain, like ran over to me and I was like, ‘Uh,’ and I called for our security.
“And at the time it was Big Rob, who famously not only great security, but also was on a song with us, and like helped get her out and I guess somebody, her mom worked at the hotel or something. Just crazy stuff like that.”
The ‘Work It Out’ hitmaker admitted he has “many, many” similar stories to tell, but he loves the passion of his fans.
He added: “But yeah, you know, there’s many, many of those stories. Yeah. But I love my fans.”
Joe – who split from Sophie Turner, the mother of his daughters Willa, four, and two-year-old Delphine, last year after four years of marriage – recently admitted he used writing his new solo album, ‘Music for People Who Believe in Love’, as an “outlet” for his feelings.
He told Billboard: “I was going through a lot of life changes.
“Finding out who I was as a person and father and friend, and living under the microscope of what the music industry can be. And I think, at such a crazy time in my life, I looked to music as an outlet.”
The ‘Sucker’ hitmaker has had his fair share of ups and downs over the past decade. However, he had no interest in “trying to put stuff on blast” on his new album.
He shared: “I’m not trying to come for anyone on this album. I’m not trying to put stuff on blast.
“I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for.”

Lee Daniels had ‘worst experience’ on Empire

OHMYGOSSIP — Lee Daniels had “absolutely the worst experience” on ‘Empire’.
The 64-year-old writer created the musical drama – which ran from 2015 to 2020 – for Fox because he wanted to see what it was like “to be able to answer to suits”, having previously worked independently, and he admitted he had a “horrible” time as a result.
He told The Film Stage: “I don’t like staying in the same lane just as a creative. When I got into television, I really just wanted to be able to answer to suits. I wanted to know what that experience was like.
“All of my friends, they get notes and s***. And I’m like, ‘What is that like?!’ You know what I mean? Because every film of mine had been independent. All my s*** is independent.
“You know, my first movie was developed with drug money. ‘Monster’s Ball’. We won the first Black woman an Oscar. Every one of my films has been independently financed where I’m able to … do my thing and nobody is in my head.
“There’s so many filmmakers and writers that I respect that have to answer to people. So I only did ‘Empire’ just so I could see what that experience was like.”
When asked what the experience was actually like, he admitted: “Horrible! Absolutely the worst experience.”
However, Lee – who has kids Clara and Liam with former partner Billy Hopkins – candidly admitted he has no regrets because of the money he made from the show.
He added: “But guess what? F****** that money, money, money! I was able to put my kids through college and s***.
“So that in itself was worth it.”
‘Empire’ centred around music mogul Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) and his wife ‘Cookie’ Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) and Lee admitted he had no idea of the cultural impact the show had at the time.
He said: “I really didn’t. I was too busy about Cookie’s hat and the music hat I was trying to get to realise that I was shifting, literally, the culture. That I had single-handedly shifted it with my show.
“That there wouldn’t have been a ‘Black Panther’, that there wouldn’t have been an ‘Insecure’. There wouldn’t have been a ‘Black-ish’.
“All of that s*** happened because I did what I did.
“I was bold enough to say, ‘I don’t give a f*** about these notes that they’re giving me. I’m going to f****** do what I want to do because I don’t need you.’ ”

Offspring’s Noodles had UFO encounter

OHMYGOSSIP — Offspring’s Noodles has claimed to have seen a UFO.
The 61-year-old guitarist – whose real name is Kevin John Wasserman – wasn’t freaked out when he saw a mysterious light move around the sky before disappearing because he thought the encounter was “cool”.
Noodles was interviewed by singer and paranormal expert Brocarde at the Metal Hammer Awards in Berlin, when she asked if he believed in ghosts.
The ‘Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)’ hitmaker told her he wants to but hasn’t seen anything to convince him of their existence, but he did have a paranormal experience out in Russia.
He told Brocarde: “I saw a UFO once in St Petersburg, Russia that was pretty cool, I can’t explain it, it was just a light moving, in ways that light shouldn’t move. It was a pinpoint of light, moving in a way that it shouldn’t move, not a straight line, and then it flared out and disappeared!”
The spooky singer – who recently connected with the ghost of Lemmy at Wacken Open Air festival – asked if the encounter had given Noodles a desire to go into space and land on Mars in the hope of seeing more alien life.
He said: “I like to go up into space, maybe not as far as Mars. I’d prefer to go to the bottom of the ocean in a submarine.”
The musician insisted he isn’t scared of the idea of being lost in space or trapped underwater as his biggest fear is simply “being bored”.
Brocarde conducted her interviews while waiting for the release of her debut album next year.

Adele ‘turned down $200m’ to extend tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Adele reportedly turned down a $200 million deal to extend her tour.
The 36-year-old pop superstar has been performing her ‘Weekends With Adele’ residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas since late 2022 and she added in a short run of 10 shows in Germany in August, but her Sin City concerts are set to come to an end in November with the singer planning to take a long break from work. Now a new report claims she turned down a bumper pay day to play more shows including stadium dates in Europe, Asia and South America and a lucrative residency at a casino in Macau, China.
A source told the Daily Mail’s Alison Boshoff: “There have been a lot of offers but she has turned them all down because she wants to be home with her kid.
“The Chinese deal put millions of dollars on the table, but she did not want to do it in the end. She’s put her kid and boyfriend – and herself – first.”
Adele is engaged to marry her sports agent partner Rich Paul and she’s also mum to son Angelo – from her previous marriage to Simon Konecki – who turns 12 in October.
The singer announced plans for a break at the final date of her Germany residency in Munich August 31, telling the audience: “I have 10 shows to do, but after that I will not see you for an incredibly long time. And I will hold you dear in my heart.”
Adele also insisted she’s not got any new music on the horizon, telling German outlet ZDF: “I don’t have any plans for new music, at all.
“I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
She previously told gig-goers at Caesar’s Palace earlier this year: “I just don’t think I’m gonna write an album for quite some time.
“But next time I do, I’ll come to wherever it is you live.”
The ‘Chasing Pavements’ singer also explained why she started disappearing from the limelight for long periods before releasing a new album.
She said: “Sometimes I wonder if people think I’m calculated when I disappear for years on end and I’m elusive and I believe that less is more or something like that. But the real reason that I’ve only had four albums and I don’t think that many people know this – they know that I have a child – my son is 11 years old.
“So if you do the math, that means that at the height of ‘21’ … I fell pregnant. To many that would be, and it was, considered career suicide.
“It was there and then that I chose to reject the scarcity of success, and the idea that you have to be constantly relevant to be successful. And that perhaps, just maybe, I could be a hit both on and off the stage. And you’ll never guess what — I … got away with it!”

Beyonce ‘grateful for another year’

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce has declared she’s “grateful for another year” after celebrating her 43rd birthday.
The pop superstar marked the milestone on Wednesday (04.09.24) and two days later she thanked fans for all their well wishes and shared some snaps from an exotic holiday in a mystery destination with her rapper husband Jay Z.
In a post on Instagram, the singer wrote: “I’m so grateful for another year. Thank you for the loving birthday wishes.”
She shared a picture showing her cuddled up to Jay Z on an outdoor sofa as well as another in which she was seen standing in a tropical setting holding a drink and some balloons.
Another shot showed off the luxury villa where they were staying which boasted stunning sea views and a private pool, while she also shared snaps of herself smoking a cigar in the sea and heavily promoting her drinks brand SirDavis from her beach-side vacation.
The singer appears to be enjoying some well-deserved time off after a busy year launching her country music album ‘Cowboy Carter’.
After releasing the record in March, Beyonce admitted she’s no longer motivated by “charts and sales.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she said of the record’s critics: “When you are breaking down barriers, not everyone is ready and open for a shift.
“But when I see Shaboozey [Cowboy Carter collaborator] tearing the charts up and all the beautiful female country singers flying to new heights, inspiring the world, that is exactly what motivates me.”
She added: “There was a time in my life when charts and sales excited and motivated me. Once you have challenged yourself and poured every ounce of your life, your pain, your growth and your dreams into your art, it’s impossible to go backward.
“I’m very grateful and humbled for the extraordinary success of the new album.”

‘I don’t know what more we could say about Trump’: South Park not returning until 2025

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘South Park’ is going on hiatus because its creators have nothing else to say about Donald Trump.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone have confirmed season 27 of the adult animation comedy series has been delayed “on purpose” to 2025 to avoid the upcoming election battle between the former president and his Democrat rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, as the political situation can be a “mind scramble” and makes the show “less fun”.
Matt told America’s Vanity Fair magazine: “We’ve tried to do South Park through four or five presidential elections, and it is such a hard thing to – it’s such a mind scramble, and it seems like it takes outsized importance.
“Obviously, it’s f****** important, but it kind of takes over everything and we just have less fun.”
Trey added: “I don’t know what more we could possibly say about Trump.”
Talking about skipping Trump’s re-election campaign later in the interview, Matt admitted: “Honestly, it’s on purpose…
“It’s just way more fun to be like, Oh, Cartman’s going to dress up like a robot.”
This year’s only new episode was the special ‘South Park: The End of Obesity’, which focused on the current popularity of weight-loss drugs, and the writers explained the plot came from personal experience.
Trey said: “I got on it. I lost, like, 25 pounds, but I was, like, I hate this – I feel different. I feel like something’s different.
“Like, yes, I want to eat less, but I also want to do everything else less. And that’s where that whole show came from.”
The pair previously admitted making ‘South Park’ isn’t always “fun and games”.
Matt told People magazine: “It is not just fun and games doing ‘South Park’. It’s brutal and stressful and terrifying at times, so once in a while, you get a show that is just fun. It’s rare, but those are the ones that keep it going.”

Sir Ian McKellen claims Queen Elizabeth was ‘rude’ to him

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Ian McKellen is convinced the late Queen Elizabeth was “quite mad” at the end of her life and was “bloody rude” to him when they met.
The ‘Lord of The Rings’ star has looked back on the times he came face-to-face with the monarch – who died in 2022 aged 96 – and revealed she seemed to be dismissive of his acting career when she handed him the Companion of Honour medal in 2008 for his services to drama.
He told The Times newspaper: “The Queen, I’m sure she was quite mad at the end. And on the few occasions I met her she was quite rude. When I received a medal for acting, she said, ‘You’ve been doing this for an awfully long time.’
“I said, ‘Well, not as long as you.’ I got a royal smile for that, but then she said, ‘Does anyone still actually go to the theatre?’ That’s bloody rude when you’re giving someone a medal for acting. It meant, ‘Does anyone care a f*** about you because I don’t. Now off you go!’”
During the interview, he also explained the Queen’s forceful handshake was her way of getting someone to move on, saying: “That was her handshake and it meant, ‘Go! Go!’”
Ian also voiced his support for Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex after he stepped away from royal duties and started a new life in California with his wife Megha, Duchess of Sussex and their two children.
He said: “I’m most definitely on Harry’s side … Imagine being born into the royal family. I’ve been in public life a bit, but these people are in prison. They can’t do anything normal. Can you imagine having to be nice to everyone you talk to? …
“Hats off to anyone who manages to stay sane in that world. Like the [late] Duke of Edinburgh managed to do, although even he was deeply, deeply eccentric and I suspect deeply unhappy.
“Same with the present king. He sort of survives, but he is clearly damaged. As for Harry, he’s probably not bright enough or doesn’t have the right friends to really help himself. Mind you, he had the pick of all the pretty women in the world. I hope he’s got the right one.”

James McAvoy isn’t afraid of failure

OHMYGOSSIP — James McAvoy has credited his grandmother with helping him not to be afraid of failure.
The 45-year-old actor spent a lot of time with his beloved granny as a child and lived with her for a time after his parents’ divorce – and he believes she gave him the tools to survive the tough side of working in the entertainment industry.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “I’m really lucky in a lot of ways, mainly that my granny’s all over me. I’ve definitely got a large dose of what she has …
“She doesn’t really give a f*** about what anybody thinks of her. So it liberates her. I’m definitely capable of being embarrassed, but I don’t feel embarrassed about being masculine enough, I don’t feel embarrassed about getting it wrong, or not being clued-up, not knowing something that other people know.”
James went on to add: “I think I’m desensitised because I’ve spent my life on screens and stages being either clapped or booed, and it’s a gamble. I don’t always come off winning that bet. I can deal with criticism because I’ve failed, badly, on both platforms, and I’m good with it.”
James will be next seen on screen in ‘Speak No Evil ‘ – a remake of the 2022 Danish film of the same name – and he recently admitted he based his toxic character Paddy on infamous influencer Andrew Tate.
He told Empire magazine: “The thing I thought I could exploit in the character was, he thinks he’s a bit of a … West Country Andrew Tate.
“He’s like, ‘I’m going to teach you what it’s like to be a man again’. But there’s a sort of polite face on it that isn’t quite Andrew Tate, enough of a sheen of, ‘I’m not one of those guys’.
“[Paddy’s] challenging you, ‘Do you have a big enough d*** to have a drink with me?’, Or, ‘I’m sorry, this is too much for you because you’re not real enough’.”

Marlon Wayans hails Harvey Weinstein’s downfall as ‘God’s revenge’

OHMYGOSSIP — Marlon Wayans believes Harvey Weinstein’s downfall was “God’s revenge”.
The 52-year-old comic thinks he should have sued the disgraced producer – whose fall from grace was sparked by the #MeToo movement, leading to dozens of women accusing him of sexual misconduct before he was jailed on sexual assault charges – for stealing his family’s ideas for the ‘Scary Movie’ franchise but ultimately got payback by witnessing the end of the movie mogul’s career.
Speaking on ‘Club Shay Shay’, he said: “Sometimes you ain’t gotta do nothing because God’s gonna do it all — God’s revenge. When God come for you, you gotta trust God. You don’t retaliate, vengeance is mine. They took Miramax, his company… Then they had the Weinstein Co. and then all this stuff started going down with the rape allegations and they took that company too.
“I always say, they didn’t just rape and molest women, they raped [n-words] too. Molested us in them deals. They were terrible people.”
Marlon and his brother Shawn wrote 2000’s ‘Scary Movie’, which was directed by their sibling Shawn and produced by Weinstein’s Miramax, who the ‘On the Rocks’ actor claimed gave his family a “c****y” deal for the first installment.
The movie spawned several sequels but the Wayans brothers’ relationship with the studio went downhill and by the time of the third film, the Zucker brothers were hired to direct based on ideas from Marlon and his siblings.
And Marlon – who, along with his brothers, had no involvement in the poorly-performing fourth and fifth films – has now claimed Miramax did that without their knowledge.
He said: “You can’t do Wayans s*** without the Wayans. You can try, but eventually you’re gonna lose a lot of money because what we do is special. We have 200 years of comedy between me, Shawn, Keenan, Damon, Kim. We have a lot of years of excellence of what we do. You can’t just put anybody on them….
“We [went] on, made our money. ‘White Chicks’ made another classic. ‘Little Man’ made another classic. We do our thing,”

Ashton Kutcher’s parenting affected by ‘toxic masculinity’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashton Kutcher has admitted “toxic masculinity” has affected his parenting.
The 46-year-old actor has daughter Wyatt, nine, and son Dimitri, seven, with wife Mila Kunis and he admitted he behaves differently with his two kids as he is more protective of his little girl.
Speaking on the ‘Throwbacks’ podcast, he said: “I don’t know if it equates to being a girl dad or it equates to her being my first, but when I had my daughter, I had never been so in love in my entire life.
“And Mila and I talked about it a lot. Like, I’ve never loved anyone this much. Ever.”
Discussing how he parents his kids “differently”, he added: “My son, I’m always like, ‘Yeah, let’s go for it.’ Like, yesterday we’re popping wheelies on a bicycle in the driveway or it’s like, ‘See if you can jump down four stairs.’
“[With] my daughter I just want to protect her. When my son cries, I’m like, ‘All right, what did we learn? Let’s move on.’ But when my daughter cries, my heart is out of my body and I can’t put it back in.”
The ‘Vengeance’ actor noted the “toxic masculinity” he’s experienced through his life has allowed him to treat his son differently, but admitted Mila also adopts different approaches with their two kids.
He said: “I also notice the same thing with my wife, like, she’s very strict on our daughter and, like, a gushball with our son.
“I think we balance each other in that way.”
Ashton is an avid sports fan and serves as a coach for Dimitri’s flag football team.
And though it’s just a kids’ team, the ‘Just Married’ star prepares for each game very intensely.
He said: “I took game film on the other teams. And then I drew up all the plays it is so bonkers the extent that I went and had more fun coaching flag football than I could have possibly imagined.”

John Legend shares how his son’s shock diagnosis made him and Chrissy Teigen ‘stronger’ as a couple

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are “stronger” as a couple because of their son’s health problems.
The 45-year-old singer and his wife Chrissy, 38, discovered that their son Miles six, was suffering from Type 1 diabetes – a chronic condition in which the body struggles to produce enough insulin – after he became ill at a summer camp and even though they knew the diagnosis would be “life-changing” for him, is confident that they can all navigate the situation together.
He told People: “I remember he was at the emergency room because of it and they checked his blood sugar. The thinking was, this may be a reaction to the infection or he may be diabetic. They did some more tests and decided it was the latter, that he was Type 1 diabetic. Chrissy was upset a little bit when she first heard. She’s been so good at learning what she needs to do.
“My personality is one where I’m very optimistic and I’m very practical. As soon as I learned that he had this I knew it was going to be life-changing for him and for us, but I’m also like, ‘We can do this.’ We’ve got great advice and lots of people offering support to help us learn.
“This speaks to us feeling like a team and knowing we can do this v. It just makes us stronger.”
The ‘All Of Me’ singer – who also has Luna, eight, Etsi, 20 months, and 15-month-old Wren with Chrissy – noted that his eldest son is “earl in the diagnosis” so there is still some more work to do but he and his wife are both just “more aware” of paying attention to his dietary and medicinal needs now.
He said: “He’s early in his diagnosis, and when you’re early, your insulin is still doing some of the work that it needs to do. But as the disease progresses, it’s going to get to a point where we really need to monitor everything, count carbs, give him insulin beforehand. We just have to be more aware.”

Don Johnson ‘feared losing everything’ before being cast in Miami Vice: ‘Poverty leaves a mark…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Don Johnson “feared losing everything” before was cast in ‘Miami Vice’.
The 74-year-old actor struggled for years to make ends meet before he landed his big break in the leading role of James Crockett in the 1980s cop series and admitted that his work ethic came from watching his parents struggle throughout his childhood.
He told WSJ: “Poverty leaves a mark. For years I feared losing everything. I managed it with meditation.
“In Missouri, my father, Wayne, was a failed farmer. We moved to Wichita, Kan., where he went to work for Boeing. Within two years, he was crew chief of the men who had been over him. My mother, Nell Eva Leigh, was a beautician. I got my work ethic from them. By then, I had a younger sister, Jamie, and two younger brothers—Greg and K.C. In Wichita, we lived in a small house with a single bathroom in projects built originally as employee housing for Boeing. We were still plenty poor.
“When I was 11, the family I knew blew apart. My parents divorced, and I went through a lot of guilt for feeling enormous relief when they did. At that age, you bury the stress parents create.”
However, Don – who now has a reported net worth of $50 million – recently insisted the whirlwind he experienced after taking the part was mainly more work, and not all partying.
and we were getting like 40 million people a week watching our show.
He told Parade: “Those are the kinds of numbers that people would lose their minds over now.
“So I didn’t sleep for five years. I was filming most of the time, and then on the weekends I was shooting magazine covers, and then occasionally – when no one was looking – I was out partying.”

Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert reveals why she ‘had to get out’ of Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Melissa Gilbert had to “get out” of Hollywood after childhood stardom.
The 60-year-old actress starred on the NBC Western series ‘Little House on the Prairie’ as a child and continued to work throughout the 1980s and 1990s but eventually had to leave Los Angeles because of the “pressures” she had faced over the years.
She told People: “All of the pressures, I faced all of them. When you live in Los Angeles, it’s like living at the mall when you work at the mall. Literally, everyone is in the business. When you walk into a restaurant, every head turns to see who walked in. Everybody’s always looking, curious, competing and that’s a really difficult thing, especially for a female actor. It puts a lot of pressure on staying thin and staying young and really it makes it hard to feel comfortable in one’s own skin, because [of] the aging process.
“So are you going to age comfortably and happily? Are you going to fight it, be unhealthy and feel like there’s something wrong with you for aging and that you’re defective because you’ve gotten older?”.
“I had to get out of there [L.A.], because it felt like I was not being authentically myself.”
The ‘Diary of Anne Frank’ actress – who is now married to Timothy Busfield but has son Dakota, 35, with her first husband Bo Brinkman and 28-year-old Michael with her second husband Bruce Boxleitner – eventually moved to Michigan and explained that all of her worries immediately subsided following her departure from the Californian city.
She said: “In the five years that I was in Michigan, all of that stopped. … I stopped everything and just focused on being as physically and emotionally healthy as I could. And I think that shows, ‘Yes, I’m aging, but it’s not a curse — it’s a blessing’.”
