Margaret Qualley got ‘wasted’ to cope with shooting raunchy scene

OHMYGOSSIP — Margaret Qualley got “wasted” on drugs and tequila to get through filming a raunchy scene in her new film ‘The Substance’.
The actress, 29, the daughter of ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ actress Andie MacDowell, 66, shot to fame thanks to her roles in ‘The Leftovers’ and ‘Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’, and has now opened up about her latest role alongside Demi Moore, 61.
She told The Sunday Times about shooting a highly sexual scene in the body horror flick ‘The Substance’ with the ‘G.I. Jane’ star: “That specific kind of sexuality doesn’t lend itself to me.”
Margaret added she cried in a bathroom when she first rehearsed a scene in which her TV aerobics instructor character Sue does a sexed-up dance wearing a skimpy workout outfit because she felt “so deeply ashamed” making it.
She went on about how she added marijuana and alcohol into the emotional mix to get through the shoot: “And still, day of, I just got wasted first thing in the morning because I was like, I can’t do this in front of everybody.”
Margaret’s Sunday Times profile said “a combination of weed and tequila provided Dutch courage” helped her cope with the scene.
Margaret added about loving working with Demi in intimate scenes: “If Demi Moore wants to put her naked body on mine, ‘Go forth, please’.
“I should be so lucky.”
‘The Substance’ tells of Demi as a washed-up fitness guru who takes a mystery black market drug to create a younger, sexier version of herself, played by Margaret.
She was meant to have a curvy body, and the actress said about the transformation: “Unfortunately there is no magic boob potion, so we had to glue those on.”
‘The Substance’ is out across the UK and US from 20 September.

Donald Trump furiously declares he ’hates’ Taylor Swift

OHMYGOSSIP — Donald Trump has declared he despises Taylor Swift.
The US presidential runner, 78, hit out at the ‘Shake it Off’ singer, 34, in yet another of his furious posts on his social media platform Truth Social five days after the performer announced in a long Instagram post she would be voting for his Democrat White House race rival Kamala Harris, 59, in America’s November election.
Donald raged online on Sunday (15.09.24) in an all-capitalised message: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Along with announcing online she was supporting Kamala as US president, Taylor urged her millions of ‘Swiftie’ fans to research the election and register to vote.
She included with her Kamala-backing message a link to vote.gov to help them start to study up on politics.
Donald lashed out at Taylor after saying he had “no idea” what his reaction was to the singer’s message supporting Kamala after the pair of rivals last week faced off in a TV debate.
Taylor’s Instagram message drove more than 400,000 visitors to the vote.gov site in under a day.
She said: “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and (her vice president nominee) Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.
“If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most… as a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”
Taylor also used her note to blast images generated by artificial intelligence that were reportedly shared by Donald on Truth Social that had suggested she was endorsing him for president.
She said: “Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site.
“It really conjured up my fears around AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation.
“It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter.
“The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth. I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.”
In a dig at Donald’s running mate JD Vance, 40, and his infamous jibe at women who didn’t have children, the singer signed off her post as: “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady.”

Ricky Gervais loses planning battle to demolish flood-prone home

OHMYGOSSIP — Ricky Gervais has lost a planning battle to demolish his flood-prone mansion.
‘The Office’ creator, 63, had applied to build a four-bedroom, neo-classical home on the site of his existing three-bed property beside the River Thames, London, which has been hit by flooding at least five times since 1947, so he could replace it with a new £5 million house.
But the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead denied to give consent for his project earlier this month, Mail Online has reported.
The outlet added officials ruled the comic’s application that it did not meet local and national planning guidelines.
Ricky was said to have included CCTV pictures in his planning application showing how the main entrance of his existing riverside home, as well as his garage and back garden were submerged underwater earlier this year.
He had wanted to build a home on the site that would have included an open plan kitchen as well as a dining area with views of the Thames.
His plans for the two-storey residence on the site – which Ricky has referred to as his ‘little country retreat” – also reportedly included a home gym, drawing room, plant area and cloakroom.
Parish councillors said it was an “inappropriate” development on green belt land and too close to the house next door, according to the Mail.
Ricky’s planning agent had argued in a submission: “The existing dwelling is of poor design quality, performs poorly in sustainability terms and has a disjointed internal layout.
“Any new dwelling should therefore be of high design quality internally and externally with substantially enhanced sustainability credentials.
“The proposed scheme seeks to create a high-quality, sustainable dwelling that will be flood resilient and significantly enhances its build and natural surroundings, while also providing an enhanced standard of living accommodation.”
Ricky, who lives with his long-term writer partner Jane Fallon, 63, has an estimated net worth of at least £120 million and a huge property portfolio including a £14.75 million mansion with nine bedrooms, spa and tennis court in north London.

Prince Harry gets surprise 40th birthday message from older brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has had a surprise 40th birthday message from his older brother.
The Duke of Sussex, who marked the milestone on Sunday (15.09.24), is said to have been largely estranged from William, Prince of Wales, 42, since he published his tell-all memoir ‘Spare’ in January, which contained the claim he and his sibling had a physical fight over remarks the older royal allegedly made about Harry’s relationship with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 43.
But William and his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, posted on Instagram: “Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex.”
The Waleses’ official account also included a photo of Harry smiling while wearing a grey suit and white shirt.
But the post was not signed off with William or Kate’s initials, as is the tradition when royals personally write posts.
It came as King Charles, 75, also wished Harry a happy 40th on social media.
The monarch and his wife, Harry’s stepmother Queen Camilla, 77, shared a message on their official Royal Family X account on Sunday to mark the Duke of Sussex’s big day.
Their message said alongside a cake emoji: “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!”
The post also included a photograph of a smiling Prince Harry.
It was a picture taken in 2018, during Harry’s visit with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex to the ‘Digital Docklands’ in Dublin.
Harry is set to celebrate his birthday privately in Montecito, California, with Meghan, 43, and their children Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.
A source told the Sunday Express about how Charles is set to call his youngest son: “The King will reach out to Harry on his birthday. Although the family are not as close as they once were, there is still a lot of love there.
“They tend to use Skype when they communicate because they can see each other and it’s all set up by staff so it runs smoothly.”

Demi Moore has spent years putting more ‘focus’ on her career than dating

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Moore has spent years putting more “focus” on her work than romance.
‘The Substance’ actress, 61, has been divorced three times – with her exes including Ashton Kutcher, 46, and 69-year-old Bruce Willis – and she has now said she has been fixated on her career instead of men since around 2019.
She told The Guardian: “Dating is not really where my focus is. Particularly in the last four, five years, my focus has been to lean into my work.
“I’m more in a place that’s much more about choice as opposed to feeling there is any kind of lack.”
Demi’s new film ‘The Substance’ sees her starring as a washed-up fitness guru who takes an experimental drug that leads her to ‘birth’ a younger and more perfect version of herself, played by 29-year-old ‘Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’ actress Margaret Qualley.
Her dating admission comes after Demi said she “treasures” the time she spends with Bruce Willis as he continues to battle dementia.
Demi was married to the ‘Die Hard’ star – with whom she has children Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and 30-year-old Tallulah – from 1987 to 2000, and is now in regular contact with her ex amid his health battle.
She said on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ about the advice she gives her children when it comes to communicating with their ill father: “What I say to my kids is you meet (people) where they’re at.
“You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment.
“And from that, there is such beauty and joy and loving and sweetness.
“When I’m in LA, I go over (to Bruce’s house) every week, and I really treasure the time that we all share.”
In 2022, Bruce’s family – which includes his current wife Emma Heming Willis, 46, and their kids Mabel, 12, and nine-year-old Evelyn – announced he was retiring from acting after being diagnosed with speech and language disorder aphasia, with his dementia diagnosis confirmed the following year.

Prince Harry ‘will undoubtedly’ accept £8 million royal inheritance ‘banked for his 40th birthday’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry will reportedly “undoubtedly” accept an £8 million royal inheritance apparently banked for him as a 40th birthday present.
The Duke of Sussex celebrated hitting the milestone age on Sunday (15.09.24), after it was previously reported his great-grandmother, the late Queen Mother, had arranged for him to get a huge cash boost when he reached the big day.
Royal expert Hugo Vickers, 72, has now told The Sun the timing of the reported cash injection could not have come at a better time for Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 43, with whom he has children Archie, five, and three-year-old daughter Lilibet – as they lead a lavish lifestyle with staff at their $14 million mansion in Montecito, California.
Hugo said: “No doubt it would be helpful because I think he leads a very expensive lifestyle.
“Hopefully he will put the money to good use – £8 million can disappear pretty fast in a place like Montecito.
“The couple have an enormous staff, a big house to maintain, and cars.
“Harry has to pay for his own security too which we know he takes very seriously.”
And former royal butler Grant Harrold, 46, told the New York Post about being sure Harry will take the cash: “I’ve no doubt that Harry will accept it.
“It’s money that’s owed to him, money that’s coming to him. I don’t think he will decline the money.
“It’s inheritance so it’s his right. It’s already something that has been set in place for years now.”
The Queen Mother, who died aged 101 in 2002, apparently put aside a tax-free £19 million to leave to her great-grandchildren, according to The Times.
It added the inheritances were divided into two installments – one to be given to Princes William and Harry when they turned 21, and another on their 40th birthdays.
A former palace aide previously told The Times: “There was a trust fund set up at the time.
“It was a way in which the Queen Mother could set aside money for when her great-grandchildren were older and a way of passing a slice of her estate down in a tax-efficient way.
“It was a way in which some of her estate could be ring-fenced for them.”
Sources added Harry may have been left more money than his older brother William, 42, from the inheritance.

Kate Winslet ‘knows’ undergoing testosterone replacement therapy can boost sex drive

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Winslet “knows” undergoing testosterone replacement therapy can boost sex drive.
The ‘Titanic’ actress, 48, has been married to her 46-year-old husband Edward Abel Smith – formally known as Ned Rock ‘n’ Roll – for 12 years, and made the admission while hosting a mini-agony aunt session on the ‘How to Fail’ podcast.
She said: “A lot of people don’t know this but women have testosterone in their body, (and) when it runs out, like eggs, it’s gone, and once it’s gone you have to replace it and that is something that can be done and you’ll feel sexy again… I know.”
Kate spoke out on the treatment after a listener had asked for help to rediscover their sex drive, with the actress going on to advise them: “I would suggest for your physical self, have your thyroid levels checked and your testosterone levels checked well because those things could have a direct impact on how you’re actually feeling.
“It’s not your fault – our bodies are weird and they behave in strange ways especially as we get older.
“So there could be a dip in those hormonal levels for you that is contributing much more than you think to how you’re feeling about having sex with your boyfriend, so I would definitely go ahead and do that.”
When asked how she feels about her body as she ages, Oscar-winner Kate – who appears naked in her new film ‘Lee’, a biopic of the Second World War photojournalist Lee Miller: “I’m great with it – I think I look flipping amazing. We have to own it, this is the thing.
“We’re so conditioned, women, in our 40s to think, ‘Oh well, I’m creeping closer to the end’.
“You think you’re going into menopause and you’ll stop having sex, your boobs are going to sag and your skin’s going to go crapey.
“First of all, so what? It’s just conditioning. I think women as they get older get juicier and sexier and more embedded in their truth of who they are and more powerful, more able to walk through the world and care less and that is an empowering thing.
“I say to my friends all the time, ‘You look amazing, you look great.’”

Saoirse Ronan’s new role made her ‘more conscious’ of her booze intake

OHMYGOSSIP — Saoirse Ronan’s new role made her “more conscious” of her alcohol intake.
The actress, 30, stars as Rona in her latest film ‘The Outrun’, an adaptation of Amy Liptrot’s 2016 memoir of the same name about the writer’s recovery from alcoholism, and Saoirse has now said taking the part made her reassess her own relationship with drinking.
She told The Sunday Times: “I’m more conscious of my intake – and there’s more people of my generation who are choosing not to drink any more because of how it makes them feel.”
The actress added alcoholism is a world she knows “really well” – admitting she has “been on the receiving end of the pain caused by it”.
She also admitted she has seen people she loves “change because of addiction”, adding: “There’s a helplessness you feel when you watch someone you love – friends my age and one in particular who I’m close to… go through that.
“What will be etched in my brain forever is that switch, when the glaze goes over someone’s eyes and they are gone.
“If you’ve become second best to alcohol you become resentful, so for this role I needed to put my own feeling towards it to one side.
“And I needed not to be angry about that any more.”
Despite the pain she had witnessed due to the condition, Saoirse added alcoholism was a topic she “wanted to explore at some stage” in her life to better understand and heal her trauma related to it.
She said: “I don’t think I would have been secure enough as a person to take something like that on even a few years ago.”
Saoirse, who grew up in Co Carlow, Ireland, said children she knew would drink vodka or cider in a field because they were “bored”.
‘The Outrun’ also stars Stephen Dillane, Saskia Reeves and Paapa Essiedu, with a synopsis for the movie – which is out in cinemas from 4 October – saying: “After living life on the edge in London, Rona attempts to come to terms with her troubled past.
“She returns to the wild beauty of Scotland’s Orkney Islands – where she grew up – hoping to heal.”

Mena Suvari wrote memoir to rid her life of pain

OHMYGOSSIP — Mena Suvari wrote her memoir as a way to exorcise pain from her life.
The 45-year-old ‘American Beauty’ actress’ autobiography ‘The Great Peace’ was released in 2021 and told how she was the victim of a predatory manager after she arrived in Hollywood aged 15 – as well as about the childhood sexual abuse she survived, and the subsequent drug use she spiralled into to numb her pain over her traumas.
She has now told People about its release feeling like she had set herself free from her hidden inner agonies: “I wrote my book because I just needed to get it out of my life, and I wanted to move forward.
“I couldn’t hide anymore, and I knew that I needed to do it for myself. And after I’d finished writing the book, I got pregnant.”
Mother-of-one Mena’s child Christopher Alexander, who she had with husband Michael Hope – to whom she got married in 2018 – is now aged three.
She added about how she has now stopped pretending to be someone she isn’t” “I just felt like I was playing a game with myself all the time: ‘I’m this person. I didn’t have that past, and I’m everything that you want me to be.’
“That’s what my life was: ‘Who do you want me to be, and how you want me to be?’ That’s what I learned how to do.
“And so now I’m sort of like, ‘No, I’m getting to know me, and this is what I like,’ and I’m learning to be okay with just learning how to accept myself.
“What’s amazing is the things that have come out of that – people that have thought of me, other work that’s come.
“And that was only because I had to step out of my own way. It’s just about fear.
“We’re so afraid that if we make this move, if we do that move, we’re not going to be accepted.
“I still don’t have all of those answers, but… I’d rather be free, and I’d rather have these conversations and hope that it helps somebody.”

The 34-year-old actress picked up the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series award for her role as Princess Diana in ‘The Crown’ but admitted she had been too “superstitious” to prepare a speech beforehand.
However, as she took to the stage at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater when her name was called ahead of fellow nominees Christine Baranski (‘The Gilded Age’), ‘The Morning Show’ quartet Nicole Beharie, Greta Lee, Karen Pittman and Holland Taylor, and her own co-star Lesley Manville, she offered a string of thank yous to the people she had worked with on Netflix’s regal drama and hailed her role a “gift”.

Demi Moore shocked at how ‘cruel’ humans can be to themselves about their bodies

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Moore is astounded by how “cruel” humans can be to themselves about their bodies.
The ‘G.I. Jane’ actress, 61, opened up about self-hatred while talking about her latest role as Elizabeth Sparkle in body horror film ‘The Substance’ – which sees her lonely washed-up fitness influencer ditched from her aerobics show on her 50th birthday, before she takes a futuristic drug to produce a younger, flawless version of herself.
Demi told The Guardian the nightmarish plot resonated with her as it showed the “circumstances of a woman in the entertainment industry who’s facing rejection and deep despair” as “everything in her life that seemed meaningful is being ripped out”.
She added about how it led her to ponder people’s cruelty to themselves when it comes to their bodies: “What really struck me was the harsh violence against oneself. It’s not what’s being done to you, it’s what we do to ourselves.”
Demi added there is a “depth to the exploration of our psyches” and “our inner dialogue” the body horror genre “seems to amplify”.
The actress’ Guardian profile says she declared in the 1990s and noughties women were not seen as attractive unless they were thin.
Referring to the decades of diets and exercise she has put herself through in Hollywood, Demi added: “What I did to myself. What I made it mean about me. Really looking at that violence, how violent we can be towards ourselves, how just brutal.”
Turning to how men also suffer from body insecurities, Demi said: “Self-judgment, chasing perfection, trying to rid ourselves of ‘flaws’, also feeling rejected and despair, none of this is exclusive to women.”
“We’ve all had moments where you go back and you’re trying to fix something, and you’re just making it worse to the point where you’re incapacitated.
“We’re seeing these small things nobody else is looking at, but we’re so hyper -focused on all that we’re not.
