Riley Keough found it ‘painful’ listening back to Lisa Marie Presley’s recordings

OHMYGOSSIP — Riley Keough found it “incredibly painful” listening to her late mother’s recordings to finish her memoir.
Lisa Marie Presley had been working on ‘From Here To The Unknown’ when she died in January 2023 and the ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ star wanted to finish the book she was writing, but was initially “afraid” to listen to the recordings the singer had made of her memories from over the years.
In an extract from the book’s introduction published by People magazine, she wrote: “Days and weeks and months of grief drifted by. Then I got the tapes of the memoir interviews she’d done. I was in my house, sitting on the couch. My daughter was sleeping.
“I was so afraid to hear my mother’s voice — the physical connection we have to the voices of our loved ones is profound. I decided to lie in my bed because I know how heavy grief makes my body feel.
“I began listening to her speak.
“It was incredibly painful but I couldn’t stop. It was like she was in the room, talking to me. I instantly felt like a child again and I burst into tears.
“My mommy. The tone of her voice.”
Although Lisa Marie had covered growing up with her parents, the late Elvis Presley and his former wife Priscilla, and her marriages to Riley’s dad, Danny Keough, and Michael Jackson, some parts the 35-year-old actress had to write herself.
Riley explained: “The early parts of the book are mostly her voice — in the tapes she speaks at length about her Graceland childhood, the death of her father, the dreadful aftermath, her relationship with her mother, her difficult teen years. She’s frank and funny about my father, Danny Keough. She talks openly about her relationship with Michael Jackson. She’s painfully candid about her later drug addiction and about the perils of fame.
“There are times, too, where it sounds like she wants to burn the world to the ground; other times, she displays compassion and empathy — all facets of the woman who was my mother, each of those strands, beautiful and broken, forged together in early trauma, crashing together at the end of her life…
“But there are things she doesn’t talk about in the tapes, things she didn’t get to, especially in the later part of her life. We saw each other five times a week throughout my life, and we lived together full-time until I was 25. Where there are gaps in her story, I fill them in.”

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard ‘argue about absolutely everything’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard “argue about absolutely everything”.
The ‘Frozen’ star, 44, has been married to the 49-year-old podcaster for more than a decade now, and whilst they don’t always see eye-to-eye and have differing opinions on many things in life, they have built a strong foundation of “trust” as a couple.
Kristen – who has daughters Lincoln, 11, and Delta, nine, with the comedian – told E! News: “I married my polar opposite.
“We are the antithesis of each other. We argue about absolutely everything, but there is a foundational trust that we’ve built that keeps us together and is quite stimulated by one another’s opinions.”
She added: “Being with someone who you are unlike, or you don’t have a ton of similarities with, it forces you to grow.”
Dax recently shared how the pair are determined to set a good example for their children.
The celebrity duo is keen to ensure their girls eat healthily and learn from the example of their parents.
Dax – who has a degree in anthropology – told E! News in June: “Anthropologically speaking, we crave sugar because it was so scarce throughout history and because nothing that’s ever been poisonous has tasted really sweet.
“But the reality is, it doesn’t make us feel good. So we talk about a lot about the outcome.”
Despite this, Kristen and Dax don’t want to put too much pressure on their children.
The actress explained: “Allowing my kids to see that it’s something adults struggle with, and that we have to fight the need for wanting ice cream all the time, it makes them feel like we’re all on the same team.”

Michael Strahan is a grandfather

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Strahan has become a grandfather for the first time.
The ‘Good Morning America’ presenter couldn’t hide his delight as he beamed broadly throughout ‘Fox NFL Sunday’ and explained his daughter Tanita, 32, had given birth to a baby boy.
The former New York Giants player said: “Yes, I am a grandfather everybody.
“My daughter Tanita had my grandson, Onyx, is his name.
“That means black, in case you were wondering.
“It’s really special because I know you guys have gone through this.
“I’m just happy to be able to join you in that club.”
After telling him “congrats grandpa”, fellow panellist Howie Long said: “Grandkids are great.”
Terry Bradshaw then asked how Tanita was doing after giving birth and Michael, 52, replied: “Daughter is fantastic..”
Tanita – who is the father-of-four’s eldest child from his first marriage to Wanda Hutchin – hadn’t publicly mentioned her pregnancy, with the illustrator not having posted on Instagram since last October.
Michael – who also has Michael Jr., 29, with Wanda, and 19-year-old twins Isabella and Sophia with second wife Jean Muggli – previously admitted Tanita is very like him.
He previously told New York Family: “[Tanita is] kind of like me in the sense that she has a very strong personality, but a silent strong personality.
“She’s not going to be one to walk into a room and make it all about her. She definitely has an opinion and she’s very smart and she knows what she wants, which I love about her.”
The baby is further good news for the family as Isabella was declared cancer free in July after being diagnosed with brain cancer last October.
The teenager revealed the news in a YouTube video titled ‘Goodbye Hospital’, grinning as beamed as she told her followers she had received a “great, great scan” from medics following her final chemotherapy treatment.
Isabella added: “Everything was clear. Cancer-free and everything is great. I don’t have another doctor’s appointment until October.
“I miss my doctors already and everyone who’s helped me because they’re all so nice.
“I feel like I’m just saddened today knowing that I wasn’t gonna be going back for a while because I love them so much. So, that was my last hospital vlog until October!”

Zendaya admits she’s ‘terrified’ of fame: ‘I am not cut out for that part of it’

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya is “terrified” of fame and doesn’t believe she is “cut out” for it.
The 28-year-old actress has always been “shy” and insists she never got into the acting business to become a celebrity and finds the attention challenging.
Appearing alongside her ‘Dune: Part Two’ co-stars Timothée Chalamet, also 28, and Austin Butler, 33, and director Denis Villeneuve, 56, at a screening of the sci-fi epic in New York, they were asked by an audience member about the Messianic cult in the film and whether it has any corelation to celebrity fandoms.
Zendaya responded: “I feel like, often, I am not cut out for that part of it.
“I do love my job, I’m so grateful. I love doing the work, I love being on set, I do love moments like this – don’t get me wrong – but I am terrified of that part of it, often.”
The ‘Greatest Showman’ star – who landed her first major role in 2010 when she was just 13, starring in the Disney Channel series ‘Shake It Up’ – uses fashion as “armour” when she attends glitzy Hollywood bashes and red carpets.
She continued: “I was a shy kid, always have been, and so this part isn’t natural – that is a huge reason why fashion became important to me because it became like armour to pretend to go out and do the job.”
The Marvel star – who is dating her ‘Spider-Man’ co-star Tom Holland, 28 – finds it “hard to handle” being in the spotlight and wants to be seen as “a person” first and foremost.
She went on: “So I don’t know if I, either, can fully relate, but I definitely understand what you’re saying, and I think that’s what’s terrifying to me.
“I would like to be a person and for people to see me as that first. I don’t necessarily know if I want or can handle all of that or want [that] – some people that’s part of it, they enjoy the power that comes from it, and I don’t know if that’s for me.”

Janet Jackson ‘apology’ NOT issued by her team

OHMYGOSSIP — Janet Jackson’s statement apologising for her comments about Kamala Harris’ racial background was made by someone who was not the singer’s manager.
The 58-year-old star caused a stir over the weekend when she questioned the Vice President’s heritage, which was then followed by a message acknowledging her comments were wrong and “based on misinformation”.
However, Janet’s representative has now stressed that Mo Elmasri, who issued the statement, isn’t the ‘Together Again’ hitmaker’s manager as it is her brother Randy who looks after her career, and the man wasn’t authorised to speak on the singer’s behalf.
Variety then got in touch with Mo, who claimed he had been “fired” by the Jackson siblings.
He told the outlet in an email: “I no longer work for her. I was fired by Janet and Randy, after attempts to improve her image in front of public opinion and her fans, and this is something I do not deserve.”
He also offered “all my support” to the presidential hopeful.
Sources told Variety the man is “not known to have been directly associated with the singer”.
Janet had made her controversial comments when asked about the possibility of a black female US president.
She told The Guardian newspaper: Janet replied: “Well, you know what they supposedly said? She’s not black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian.”
When told she has an Indian mother and Jamaican father, she insisted: “Her father’s white. That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days.
“I was told that they discovered her father was white.”
Following a backlash, several outlets reported an apology had been issued by her team.
It stated: “Janet Jackson acknowledges that her recent comments about Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial identity were based on misinformation. She extends her sincerest apologies for any confusion caused and reaffirms her respect for Harris’ dual heritage as both Black and Indian.”
“Janet remains committed to fostering unity, inclusion, and understanding and is grateful for the opportunity to clarify her stance.
“She will continue to use her platform to support leaders who represent diversity and progress.”
Kamala’s US presidential election rival Donald Trump, 78, previously sparked outrage when he made false claims about Harris’ race at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in July, saying she “became a Black person”.
He said: “She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting the Indian heritage.
“I didn’t know she was black, until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn black, and now she wants to be known as black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she black?”

Demi Moore tries not to get ‘attached’ to the old Bruce Willis

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Moore tries not to be “attached” to the old Bruce Willis when she visits her ex.
The ‘Ghost’ actress, 61, says it’s important for her to be in the “present” when she is in the presence of the ‘Die Hard’ actor – whom she was married to from 1987 to 2000 – amid the 69-year-old actor’s battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), so they can enjoy their time together.
Speaking on ‘CBS Sunday Morning’, she said: “The important thing is just to meet him where he’s at, as opposed to being attached to who he was, how he was. Because, again, that only just puts you in a place of loss versus being in the present, meeting him where he’s at, and finding the joy and the loving of just all that is where he is.”
The ‘Substance’ star – who has daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, with Bruce – is very much focused on the things that bring her “joy” in life and doesn’t feel it’s necessary to set goals for her career.
She said: “I think that I’m sitting in a different place in my life than I’ve ever been.
“I have the most autonomy. My children are grown. I have my most independence that I’ve ever had. And so, I just am really trying to focus on what really brings me joy. I don’t like to project and say, ‘Well, this is where I want to be,’ because I don’t know. I don’t know where I’m gonna be. But I know that it’s an opportunity for me to actually have a good time!”
Demi was recently asked about the advice she has given her daughters when it comes to communicating with their father, and in a similar response, she shared how she “treasures” the family’s time together.
She told ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, she explained: “What I say to my kids is you meet them where they’re at. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment. And from that, there is such beauty and joy and loving and sweetness. When I’m in LA, I go over every week, and I really treasure the time that we all share.”

Courteney Cox says Friends reboot would be too ‘hard’ to recreate

OHMYGOSSIP — Courteney Cox can’t imagine a reboot of ‘Friends’ happening.
The 60-year-old actress starred as Monica Geller in the iconic sitcom – which ran for a decade from 1994 to 2004, and followed the lives of a group of friends living in New York City – and she finds it “hard” to envisage the programme being re-done.
The group also included Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, David Schwimmer as Ross Geller, and the late Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing.
And the show’s creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane recently revealed they keep getting pitched ideas of a reboot involving their children.
Courteney reacted in an interview with PEOPLE: “It’s hard to try to redo anything.
“Anything with ‘re’ in front of it with this group… I think it’s so special.”
The actress cannot believe the show is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
She said: “It’s just insane to me because it feels like time, it goes so fast and I don’t realise it.
“We used to say, ‘Oh, I can’t wait for this month’ or ‘god, it feels like forever.’ I would never say that line anymore.”
The ‘Scream’ actress is forever “grateful” that ‘Friends’ has stood the test of time – and declared Monica is very much “alive and well”.
She said: “That show is incredible. Every joke holds up, all the characters are just so amazing, and we [had] the best writers in the world. I’m lucky that it continues on through all the generations. And that’s very fortunate.”
David and Marta admitted fans have been begging for a reboot.
The former said: “I would imagine it’s kind of what it must feel like when your kid turns 30 and you’re like, ‘How did that happen?’”
Marta added: “We get that a lot. I get emails about it all the time. Everybody has a great idea, and the great idea is: their kids, grown up, doing a ‘Friends’ show.”
Speaking previously about how fans could celebrate Matthew – who died in October 2023 from the “acute effects” of ketamine aged 54 – for the show’s 30th reunion, Marta told The Times: “Two things come to mind [about how to celebrate him]: one of them is to donate to drug treatment centres — let’s fight the disease.
“And the second way is to watch ‘Friends’ and remember him not as a man who died like that but as a man who was hilariously funny and brought joy to everybody.”

Catherine, Princess of Wales’ dog provided support amid health battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Princess of Wales’ dog has been a great source of support amid her cancer treatment.
The 42-year-old royal underwent abdominal surgery in January and subsequently announced she would be going through a course of preventative chemotherapy, and her brother James Middleton thinks her pooch Orla – who he gave to the princess and her family – will have helped take her mind off her health struggles.
Asked if Orla will have supported Catherine through her illness, he told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I know how much the dogs, for me, have helped in taking your mind off something. So I’m certain that for them, Orla is doing her job in supporting her family.”
James – who has been open about his struggles with depression – also knows Catherine can rely on their family, as well as husband Prince William and their three children, for support.
He said: “We are certainly a close family that goes through things together.
“That was the experience I had through my challenges, and I certainly feel like it’s something that her [Catherine’s] family and our family are doing too.”
However, the 37-year-old entrepreneur didn’t initially confide in his family about his mental health issues until he sought help through therapy.
He said: “I needed to understand it myself, and I knew that my family wouldn’t necessarily understand it.”
James and his wife Alizee Thevenet are parents to 11-month-old son Inigo, and the Dog’s Trust ambassador admitted parenthood changed his life forever.
He gushed: “No matter how much people say to you about how wonderful it is, or how it will change your life, nothing can ever prepare you for that experience of seeing a little baby that’s yours arrive. It unlocks something in your heart that you didn’t know was there.”

Hilarie Burton is ‘warmer and more aggressive’ now

OHMYGOSSIP — Hilarie Burton has grown “warmer [and] more aggressive” as she’s got older.
The 42-year-old actress married Jeffrey Dean Morgan in 2019 after 10 years together and she believes one vital part of their lasting relationship is to accept and support one another as they go through different phases in their lives.
She told E! News: “Obviously communication is a very big deal and also anticipating that your partner is going to go through phases and changes.
“We both have gone through different professional phases where maybe we’re super ambitious in one phase of our life, and then we’re nesting in another phase of our life. And we try to work in tandem so that we’re each compensating for each other.
“I’m certainly not the same person I was at 26. Now I’m like a warmer, more aggressive version and he seems to like that.”
The couple are parents to son Augustus, 14, and six-year-old daughter George and while Hilarie has been watching 90s teen movies with her eldest to educate him on “how to throw a party”, she admitted he’s reluctant to watch her classic TV show ‘One Tree Hill’.
She said: “He saw one episode, and it’s weird for him to see me kiss people. He doesn’t love that.
“But he does student council, and so we spent the entire summer watching teen movies from the ’90s because kids now are just on phones and they don’t know how to throw a party, they don’t know how to make plans.
“And so, he wanted before he went into high school to learn what it’s supposed to look like. And so I showed him all of these movies and the next step is ‘One Tree Hill’. Just what show can we show you that isn’t mine? I’ll make him watch ‘Dawson’s [Creek]’.”
The ‘A Christmas Wish’ star’s two children are very different from one another.
She explained: “So my son is little me. He has gotten involved with everything in our community. He’s doing a homecoming dance and he’s in the school play and he is rowing crew. This child is busy.
“My daughter is the animal person at the farm. So I have my town kid and my country kid, and they balance each other really, really nicely.
“My son’s taken to riding dirt bikes around the property with my husband, that’s cool, and my daughter just wants to get outside and wrestle dogs.”

Kate Winslet rules out joining social media: ‘Isn’t it just a distraction?’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Winslet has ruled out joining social media.
The ‘Titanic’ actress, 48, has no plans to join sites such as Instagram or X as she sees them as a “distraction”, insisting they are “off-limits” in her house.
Asked if she sees herself joining any of the apps, the mother-of-three – who has Mia, 24, and Joe, 21, from previous marriages, and Bear, 11, with husband Edward Abel Smith – told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I don’t think so. Isn’t it just a distraction? How can I honestly look at my children and say, ‘I’m not sure it’s a good idea if I had it myself.'”
Asked if it’s “off-limits” in her household, she said: “Yes, it is.”
Kate sharing her stance on social media comes after she recently declared she no longer cares about stripping off for roles.
The ‘Holiday’ star has developed a more carefree attitude to her body since playing pioneering war photographer Lee Miller in her 2023 film ‘Lee’.
She told the Daily Telegraph: “In many ways I felt more similar to her than almost any character I’ve played before.
“There’s so much of how she lived her life that I profoundly connected with, but was also inspired by.
“Everything was on her own terms. Even how she celebrated her physical self.”
Kate, who recently spoke about how she ignored a crew member’s suggestion that she might want to sit up straight in order to disguise her belly rolls, added: “Stupid things you might consider as a woman – well, playing Lee made me think, I don’t give a f*** about any of that.
“I mean I literally don’t give a s***. I don’t care. I would take all my clothes off in front of you right now. I just don’t believe in hiding the truth, actually.”

Kim Kardashian recalls ‘surreal’ interview with Elizabeth Taylor

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian was “so nervous” interviewing her idol Dame Elizabeth Taylor.
The Skims founder, 43, conducted what is thought to be the last interview with the late Hollywood star for Harper’s Bazaar before she passed away in 2011 at the age of 73 from congestive heart failure, and admitted it was a “surreal” experience.
Kim is the executive producer of BBC Arts’ three-part series ‘Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar’, in which she opens up about meeting the ‘Cleopatra’ actress and how surprised Elizabeth was that she knew so much about her jewellery collection.
She said: “I was doing a shoot for Harper’s Bazaar, and they said they’d love it to have a Cleopatra-themed cover, and that I could interview Elizabeth for the cover story.
“Everyone knew how much I loved her and I was so excited.
“Interviewing her felt surreal, I was so nervous.
“Just to know we had a good time doing it. Elizabeth would laugh and say, ‘I can’t believe you know so much. I can’t believe you know more about my jewellery than I even remember.’”
The ‘Kardashians’ star also spoke about how Elizabeth – who was one of the world’s highest paid movie stars and was known for her HIV/AIDS activism – continues to inspire and “motivate” her as someone who wasn’t afraid to speak out on the issues she cared about and use her platform to help others.
Kim – who has become involved in prison reform advocacy in recent years – said: “I’ve always looked to her to motivate me.
“It doesn’t matter what’s acceptable to other people if you believe in it and that’s what you want to fight for.
“You fight for those people who don’t have voices, to be their voice.
“I think if you have a platform that you can use to talk about the issues that are really wrong with this world, then you’re shedding a light for so many people that otherwise they might not even know about.
“Elizabeth has been such an inspiration to me. She was a huge driving force in paving the way for anyone in my position today.
“It’s not easy to be first, you know? And I love that there’s someone like her to look up to.”
The series will analyse Elizabeth’s technique as an actress and will examine “how she reinvented the nature of fame, even as she smashed the glass ceiling in Hollywood, before going on to become a billion-dollar businesswoman, activist and advocate.”
It also features interviews with Dame Joan Collins, 91, who competed against Elizabeth for the titular role in 1963’s ‘Cleopatra’, Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris, 26, and 66-year-old femme fatale actress-and-model Sharon Stone.
‘Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar’ heads to BBC Two and BBC iPlayer on September 27.

J Smith-Cameron underwent emergency surgery this month

OHMYGOSSIP — J. Smith-Cameron underwent emergency surgery earlier this month.
The ‘Succession’ actress fell ill just days after flying into London from New York ahead of rehearsals for her West End show ‘Juno and the Paycock’ and is still recovering after having her appendix removed.
She told The Observer magazine: “I don’t know whether you’re aware of this, but I had to have an emergency appendectomy.
“And I’m still sort of getting my strength back
“It was a big thing, and my husband couldn’t come because he’s opening a play in New York.”
The actress had called the theatre to explain she couldn’t work because a pain in her abdomen meant she could “barely straighten up”, and a doctor was called for her, and she was advised to go to hospital as soon as possible.
She said: “They admitted me straight away, and put me on antibiotics. There were more urgent surgeries than mine, so then I had to wait a day.
“I came out on a Friday evening, and they [the company] didn’t call me; they let me rest until the following Tuesday, and then I did half-days for a while, which was draining, but also good. This was, I guess, two weeks ago.
“Today is only my second full day back. Everyone has been extremely gracious and understanding and… I know, I know! I’d been looking forward to all this for weeks. I was so excited, and then all hell broke loose.”
Despite her ill health, the 67-year-old star – who has daughter Nellie with husband Kenneth Lonergan – feels “lucky” because she received such “wonderful” care at St. Mary’s hospital in the city.
She added: “But I just feel very lucky. I want to do a whole series about St Mary’s.
“They were wonderful. They were rock stars. I sent over a gift for them today because – oh my God – they were so skilful and hardworking, and their work ethic was so aggressive, you know?”
Previews for the play – which also stars Mark Rylance – begin in three weeks and Smith-Cameron believes she will be ready for opening night.
She said: “Touch wood. Everything is fine, apart from me being a little behind.”

Melanie Hamrick finds it ‘really hard’ to keep Sir Mick Jagger’s son grounded

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Mick Jagger’s girlfriend admitted it is “really hard” to keep their son grounded.
The 81-year-old rocker has youngest son Deveraux, seven, with Melanie Hamrick and the 37-year-old author often takes the youngster to the Manhattan apartment she lived in when she was a dancer in order to give the child a reset and an experience of normal life.
She told the Sunday Times Culture magazine: “It’s a very nice apartment, but it’s not a hotel. He helps me with the laundry, he helps me cook dinner. We take the subway.”
But one such trip ended with a “parenting fail” after Melanie and Deveraux volunteered at an animal shelter and were left distraught when they couldn’t rehome all the kittens.
She recalled: “Oh my God, that was a parenting fail. We were both on the street crying, and Mick’s [on the phone], like, ‘Just take the cats!’ ”
The family travel frequently, with Deveraux enrolled in a school in France, where they have a chateau on the Loire River, or has tutors when they are on the road.
Melanie said: “Mick can’t stay put and I’m similar. I’ll say, ‘I want to stay put.’ Then after two weeks, I’m, like, ‘Where are we going?’ ”
The Rolling Stones frontman is 44 years older than Melanie – who he first met in 2014 – but she insisted she “doesn’t think” about the age gap and doesn’t care what other people think of their relationship.
She said: “I don’t think about it.
“Everyone’s going to have their opinion. If you think about others’ opinions, no matter where you are in life, you’re going to have a problem and you’re going to analyse it.
“I put the blinders on. Am I happy? Yes. Are the people in my life happy? Yes. Am I hurting anyone? No. OK, they can mind their own business.”
And Melanie insisted she was never starstruck by the ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ hitmaker.
She said: “Ballet dancers meet some of the biggest stars and act, like, ‘Who are you?’ Because, to us, ballet dancers are the gods. That’s who you study and look up to. You’re so in your world.”
The ‘Unraveling’ author experienced the “highlight of [her] life” last September when she and her partner attended a dinner at the Palace of Versailles in honour of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
She gushed: “It was the highlight of my life. Mick’s, like, ‘How many times can you mention Versailles at a dinner, Melanie?’ ”
But at the banquet, a man sat between Melanie and Camilla, turning his body to face the queen and cutting the former ballerina out of the conversation.
She recalled: “He didn’t do the lean back [position].
“[Camilla is] really sweet because she tried leaning forward a couple of times.”

Leo Sayer invited to sing with Elvis Presley – day before The King’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Leo Sayer was personally invited to work with Elvis Presley – but The King died just hours after their conversation.
The ‘You Make Me Feel Like Dancing’ hitmaker had broken his leg and “a bit” of his back when he fell off stage in the US and was going through physical therapy with a former Miami Dolphins player named Michael, whose Alabama gym was funded by a “big guy” in Memphis when he was stunned to receive a phone call.
Leo recalled how the phone rang in the gym and Michael passed it to him, with the voice on the other end saying: “This is Elvis Aaron Presley, and you make me feel like dancing.”
He added to the Telegraph magazine: “That was his first line. We talked for an hour. He said: ‘Michael’s told me all about you. You got great energy, you’re a very positive guy. I’ve been listening to your records. I really love them. Some songs in there I could have sung, and maybe I could sing. Why don’t you come to the house tomorrow and let’s see if we can have some fun together?”
Sadly, Elvis died the following day.
Leo continued: “And that was it. My chance to meet and work with Elvis was gone in 60 seconds. But I could never tell anybody that story. Because who would ever f****** believe that the Gerard Hugh Sayer from Shoreham-by-Sea had actually talked to The King?”
Meanwhile, the 76-year-old singer claimed notorious late paedophile Sir Jimmy Savile “fancied” him and wouldn’t leave him alone when he appeared on ‘Top of the Pops’ to promote his second single, ‘The Show Must Go On’, in 1973.
He said: “Jimmy Savile would not get off the stage. I think he fancied me. I was quite cute in those days.
“We had to use BBC musicians… and they’re all playing live as you’re singing live. So it’s terrifying. And you’ve got Jimmy Savile whispering in your ear all the way through, ‘you’re really cute…’
“How do you concentrate on singing the song? Somehow I managed to get through it.”

‘It wasn’t enough’: Nick Cannon shares regret about insuring his manhood

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Cannon doesn’t think he insured his manhood for “enough”.
The ‘Masked Singer’ host revealed over the summer that he had insured his private parts for $10 million but the 43-year-old star – who has 13-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey; Golden, seven, Powerful, three, and Rise, 23 months, with Brittany Bell; three-year-old twins Zion and Zillion and 22-month-old Beautiful with Abby De La Rosa; Legendary, two, with Bre Tiesi; two-year-old Onyx with LaNisha Cole, and 21-month-old Halo with Alyssa Scott, the mother of his late son Zen – has one regret about the police.
He told E! News: “It wasn’t enough. Should’ve been $12 million, one for each kid.”
While some have questioned the policy, Nick insisted it made sense to protect his “best assets”.
He said: “You hear all these supermodels ensuring their legs for millions of dollars, why shouldn’t I insure my best assets?
“I gotta make sure my kids are taken care of when my manhood no longer works.”
But the ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ star hopes that doesn’t happen in the near future.
He said: “I still got a long way to go.”
Meanwhile, Nick is very excited about the new series of ‘The Masked Singer’, which he hailed as “the best season of talent that we’ve had yet.”
He said: “It is season 12 and the show is so popular. When you have winners in alumni like LeAnn Rimes to Ne-Yo, people are really coming to win that trophy.
“So every episode they could win it. They could take it all the way.
“You’re seeing some finale type performances every episode.”
Nick recently praised the mothers of his children for putting up with the “madness” of his schedule.
Speaking at the Fox Fall Press Day, he said: “Yeah, I mean, to (my exes’) credit, you know what I mean? Dealing with me must be madness.”
