Kristen Wiig never thought she would be back in the Despicable Me franchise

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Wiig never thought she would be in any more ‘Despicable Me’ movies.
The 50-year-old actress voiced the role of Miss Hattie in the first installment of the animation franchise – which centres on a former supervillain turned secret agent named Gru, his adoptive daughters, Margo, Edith, and Agnes, and his yellow-colored Minions – and was delighted to be asked back to play her role in the fourth film.
She told Who magazine: “I was so happy to play Miss Hattie in the first movie, but then just kind of assumed that since the girls were adopted, I wouldn’t be in any others. So, the fact that they asked me to come back and be a different character for the next three films is amazing, and working on them has been one of my favourite experiences.”
The ‘Bridesmaids’ star – who has four-year-old twins Luna and Shiloh with her husband Avi Rothman – is even excited for her children to be able to see the new film because it has such a “generational appeal” and is looking forward to sharing something with them that she has been a part of.
She said: “The kids have seen the first film and they just love Minions. So, I’m very excited to see ‘Despicable Me 4’ with them. It’s nice to have something we can all watch together that I’ve been a part of.
“Given how long the franchise has been around, it has generational appeal. , I wish I had [Miss Hattie’s] energy! In this film, you see her mama bear come out, and I think I’m like that with my family a little bit, too. So Lucy loves her work, but family comes first, and that’s something I can relate to, for sure”

Lottie Tomlinson is expecting a baby girl

OHMYGOSSIP — Lottie Tomlinson is expecting a baby girl.
The 25-year-old social media star – who is the sister of One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson- and her fiance Lewis Burton welcomed their son Lucky in August 2022 and they are expecting baby number – and Lottie has now shared the gender of her unborn child revealing the couple are expecting a daughter.
In a post on Instagram, Lottie shared a snap of a cake with pink icing and wrote: “The most surreal feeling ever, my baby girl a dream come true”.
Lottie shared news of her second pregnancy back in June with a post on Instagram that read: “Our little family is growing we feel so excited and blessed that another beautiful baby is joining us in Jan 2025.”
She later added a picture on Instagram stories and wrote: “So excited that I can now share my little bump. We are so excited that baby number 2 is coming I can’t even explain.”
Lottie and Lewis got engaged in November 2023 after three years of dating.
The influencer recently opened up about the struggle she faced after becoming a mum for the first time revealing she couldn’t sleep and refused to turn off the lights at night because she was convinced “something bad” would happen to her son.
Lottie – who lost her mum Johannah in 2016 and sister Felicite three years later – told The Times newspaper: “I became fixated [on the idea that] something bad would happen to him, so I couldn’t sleep. You go to the worst-case scenario, because that’s happened to you twice, to two of the closest people in your life.
“I couldn’t turn the lights off at night; I needed to see him all the time. Luckily, it calmed down quite quickly.”
Lottie and her famous brother were left devastated when their mum died after a battle with leukaemia and they were dealt a double blow when their sister Félicité passed away in 2019 aged 18 after suffering a drug overdose.
The influencer admitted she was blinded by grief after the second loss and she still struggles to remember much from that period of her life.
She added to the publication: “We weren’t mentally prepared. I can’t even remember if the two funerals were in the same church.
“I think grief has affected my memory a lot and that’s quite common. Grief is such a powerful emotion; it takes up a lot of your brain”.

Love Island’s Joey Essex wants 8 children with Jessy Potts

OHMYGOSSIP — Joey Essex and ‘Love Island’ star Jessy Potts are already talking children and want a big family.
The former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star, 34, has fallen head over heels with the 25-year-old beauty.
Having only been dumped from the ITV2 reality dating show just a week ago, the pair are already talking about their future together.
Joey claims he would love to have eight children, whilst his partner is happy with four.
In their first joint interview with OK! Magazine, Joey said: “We’ve already spoken about kids.
We both want a big family. But we’re having a bit of a tiff at the moment. She wants four, I want eight. Imagine how great that would be?
“Oh, my God, eight!? Joey would make a great dad, though, there’s no doubt about that.”
He insisted: And Jessy would be an amazing mum. We’d be such good parents. I’m ready. I’d do it tomorrow. Maybe even tonight!”
Elsewhere, the pair revealed they talked in a secret “code language” after getting told off for “speculating” on the show.
Jessy said: “We got in trouble a lot for speculating as to what was going to happen day to day,” Jessy said. “We’d talk about it a lot and would get told off.”
Joey added: “You were the main speculator! And you’d get in trouble all the time for talking to me when you weren’t allowed to. We’d try and look at the producers’ phones to guess the real time. We figured out that there was a pattern between the clocks on our little Pixel phones and theirs, so we’d work out the difference to figure out the real time. Oh, and Jessy would use code language, too.”

Chris Evans turned down cue cards on Deadpool and Wolverine

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Evans turned down cue cards on the set of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ because his dialogue was fun to memorise.
The actor was offered a cameo in the movie by star Ryan Reynolds and he got the chance to revive his ‘Fantastic Four’ character Johnny Storm almost two decade after first playing him onscreen – and Chris, 43, was adamant he didn’t need prompts for his lines.
Chris told PEOPLE: “Ryan was like, ‘Listen, if we need cue cards …’ and I was like, ‘Cue cards? I’m showing up off-book. I don’t get to say dialogue like this. Trust me. I’m going to enjoy every second of this. Memorised.”
He added of landing the cameo role: “It was a couple years ago and I got a text from Ryan, we’re buddies. He just said, ‘Listen, if you don’t like this idea, no worries whatsoever. But I have something that could really bring the house down and would let you play a character from your past’.
“I mean, honestly, I would do anything Ryan asked. He gave me a great cameo in [2021 film] ‘Free Guy’ already, and I just trust him completely. So the chance to be Johnny again, I couldn’t pass up. I loved it. It was fun to shoot, fun to watch, all of it.”
Chris previously thanked the stars of the film – Ryan and Hugh Jackman – as well as director Shawn Levy for letting him join the cast of the summer blockbuster.
In a post on Instagram, he wrote: “Thank you to Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy for letting me be a part of such an incredible movie!
“They’re three of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Special thank you to Ryan for making it all happen. Playing Johnny again was a dream come true and he’ll always have a special place in my heart.”

Spoiler alert: Emma Corrin ‘felt so bad’ killing off this Deadpool and Wolverine star

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Corrin felt “so bad” killing off Chris Evans’ alter ego Johnny Storm in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’.
The 28-year-old star’s vicious alter ego, Cassandra Nova, obliterated The Human Torch after his cameo in the Marvel blockbuster, and she “felt terrible” because fans were “so excited” to see him reprise the Fantastic Four role.
She told British GQ: “I felt so bad when we were in the screening the other day.
“Because we watched it after the New York premiere with all these Lincoln Center full of fans, and everyone was so excited when they see him appear on screen, and then after three minutes, I’ve killed him. I felt terrible. I was hiding in my seat. Yeah, it was weird. Not something I thought I’d be doing if you’d asked me a few years ago.”
Other cameos in the film – which saw Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprise their roles of Deadpool and Wolverine – include Wesley Snipes as Blade, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, and Channing Tatum‘s Gambit.
And the ‘Crown’ star praised the superhero franchise for being selective about who makes a cameo in their films.
She said: “That’s something [Marvel] do so well, the cameos.
“You know, they give the people what they want. They give them cameos. But they also don’t use them gratuitously. They’re all there for a reason. And I think you really sense that. Or, I hope people sense that, because I think they’re used really cleverly.”

Danny Dyer suffers career blow as BBC 2 axes comedy drama after one series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Henpocalypse!’ will not be renewed for a second series.
The BBC Two show – which featured Kate O’Flynn as Jen – was centred on a group of women from Birmingham women on a hen do in remote North Wales during a pandemic, and featured ‘EastEnders’ legend Danny Dyer as himself.
A source at the BBC told The Sun: “It just didn’t get the audience figures to justify it returning.”
Despite drawing nearly a million viewers when the show launched in August 2023, the figures attained were not what the broadcaster had initially hoped for.
The sitcom also featured former ‘Waterloo Road’ actress Elizabeth Berrington alongside Callie Cooke, Lauren O’Rourke, and ‘Line Of Duty’ actress Lucie Shorthouse.
Danny made a memorable cameo in the six-part series, including him dressed up as a hunky knight.
Creator Caroline Moran revealed that she had written Danny into her script before the project even commissioned, and “begged” him to take on the role because she thought of him as a “national treasure”.
She said: “There’s only one Danny Dyer. He’s fantastic.
“He was everything and more than I could’ve hoped for.
“I emailed him, begging, going, ‘You’re amazing, you’re a national treasure – what do you say?’ He was up for it.”
The 47-year-old actor was particularly enthusiastic about the role, describing it as a “fictionalised and heightened version of himself” and was “honoured” to have been given the chance in the first place.
Speaking ahead of the first episode airing last year, Danny said: “When I saw the pilot for ‘Henpocalypse!’ I pi***** myself laughing and I was so honoured to be asked to be a part of such an amazing job. You’re all gonna f****** love it – it’s hilarious.”

‘Sounds fun’: Zack Snyder reacts to Henry Cavill’s Deadpool and Wolverine cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — Zack Snyder thinks Henry Cavill’s cameo in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ “sounds fun”.
The 41-year-old actor briefly appeared in the Marvel blockbuster as a variant of the ‘X-Men’ superhero, and although the director hasn’t seen the film, Snyder admitted that he was happy to hear the former Superman star was back in the comic book cinematic space.
When The Hollywood Reporter asked the filmmaker what he thought of Cavill’s cameo in the flick, he replied: “I haven’t seen it yet, but I did hear about it. Sounds fun.”
Snyder, 58, had worked with the actor in his Superman picture ‘Man of Steel’ as well as ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and ‘Justice League’ before both he and Cavill were let go by DC after the new studio head James Gunn decided to take the franchise in a different direction.
Reflecting on his time with the ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ star, the director praised Cavill for being an “amazing” Superman.
He said: “Well, Henry is an amazing Superman to me, obviously. I hired him. I wanted him to be Superman. So any coins left on the table are unfortunate, and in that way, it would be great to have more Henry. I always think you could have more Henry.”
Snyder recently released the director’s cut of his sci-fi films ‘Rebel Moon – Part One’ and ‘Rebel Moon – Part Two’, which are both R-rated takes of his previous Netflix pictures.
Although he was glad to have his vision fully realised, the filmmaker admitted he was “pretty anxious” to launch the unadulterated cuts.
When asked how he felt ahead of the pictures’ release, he said: “Pretty anxious, I’d say, but pretty excited, too. If you’re going to make a space opera, it’s good to have the entire thing out there: the overture and the whole kit and caboodle.
“So I’ve been very excited, and the truth is that Netflix has been super supportive and incredibly kind and indulgent, if you will, with me doing these versions of the movies.”

Matthew Lillard speaks out on potential Scooby-Doo and Five Nights At Freddy’s crossover

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Lillard has insisted there’s no chance that ‘Scooby-Doo’ will cross over with ‘Five Nights At Freddy’s’.
The 54-year-old actor has become synonymous with the horror and mystery genre after starring as both Shaggy in the children’s movie series and as Steve Raglan in the 2023 video game adaptation, though has now shut down any rumours his two franchises could ever meet on the screen.
When the YouTube channel JayBee and Milly quizzed Lillard on whether there was a chance the ‘Scooby-Doo’ team could try and solve one of the mysteries at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, he said: “No, those two will never meet.
“Those two is not a match-up anyone wants or needs. No, I just … Jim Henson [film puppeteer] does the costumes for both, and it was too great of an opportunity to pass up, and really changed my social media in a crazy way, which was like, millions of hits or something. So, that was fun. I thought that fans of both franchises would get a kick out of it.”
Rumours of a potential crossover between the two movie series started in May after Lillard teased he would be reprising his role as the evil Raglan in the sequel to ‘Five Nights At Freddy’s, which is set to hit theatres in December next year.
Taking to Instagram, the ‘Scream’ star posted a picture of himself dressed as the horrifying Yellow Rabbit standing next to a statue of Scooby-Doo and added the caption: “December 2025. I ALWAYS COME BACK.”
Before the second movie was confirmed to be in development at Blumhouse Productions, Lillard emphasised he was keen to return to the horror world.
He told Variety: “I’m dying to get back on set. Emma Tammi, our director, was fantastic, and it was such a fun world to play in. I’m excited to see what they are doing next.”

JLS star JB Gill announced for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — JB Gill has signed up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 37-year-old pop star – who is best known for being part of ‘The X Factor’ boyband JLS – will be hitting the dancefloor for the upcoming series of the Latin and ballroom competition and immediately agreed to take part, especially as he “loved” doing a festive special more than 10 years ago.
He said: “I danced in the ‘Strictly’ Christmas special over a decade ago and loved it, so when I got the call to join ‘Strictly’ this year, it was an immediate yes from me. I’m raring to go and looking forward to showing off some new skills to the JLS boys. From muddy wellies on the fields of my farm to sequins and Glitterballs – I’m here to embrace it all.”
The ‘Beat Again’ singer first revealed the news on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, where he told hosts Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle that the type of dancing he will be doing on the show will be “very alien” to him because it is so different to the type of movement he did in his pop group.
He said: “I did the Christmas special, it was pretty fun. I feel like it was the most similar dancing to things I would have done in JLS, but I do feel like a lot of the rotuines and styles [this time] are very alien to me. I’m not a trained dancer, I didn’t go to stage school growing up so it’s gonna be a learning curve for me.”
Just hours earlier, it was confirmed that Chris McCausland will become the first-ever blind contestant on the show.
The 47-year-old comedian – who lost his sight at the age of 22 when he was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa – has signed up for the BBC Latin and ballroom show when it returns this September but admitted that he has “never even watched it” to begin with.
He said: “I’ve never watched it ever. I don’t know what I’m getting myself into. Ask me when I get into week two and get the hang of it. I kept it a secret so good and it was in the papers, and now at least I can say!”

Big Brother winner Nadia Almada says she will only marry for ‘tax benefits’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nadia Almada wants to get married.
The Portguese-born star, 47, was crowned champion of ‘Big Brother in 2004 and made history as the first-ever transgender woman to win the UK show but is keen to tie the knot, if only for “tax benefits” and a passport.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Fabulous magazine: “I love men. Men are great, men usually love me most of the time. But would I get married one day? For the tax benefits, yes! And also for the British passport!””
During her time on ‘Big Brother,’ viewers saw her survive ten weeks of cigarette rations and the explosive row dubbed “Fight Night” before winning with a record 74 per cent of the vote.
Two decades later, she now hopes the next chapter of her life will include finding a special partner.
But the former ‘Ultimate Big Brother’ contestant won’t be looking for love by appearing on a matchmaking reality programme like ‘Love Island’ anytime soon as she described them as “so trivial”.
She added: “Also, as an old romantic, I find it abhorrent how love and sex are portrayed. They have become so trivial.
“Maybe I am too old, as I’m Gen X. I was growing up in an era when everything was taboo and we couldn’t talk about it.
“I suppose my own attitude has changed compared to being a young woman. I equated sex with love, but it is not.
“Sex is great but it is not the same as true intimacy between two people. I value that so much more.”
The reality TV star was excited for ‘Big Brother’ to be rebooted by ITV towards the end of last year, but was hopeful that it would stay faithful to its roots rather than adhere more towards more contemporary reality shows.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “I’m super-excited for ‘Big Brother’. They will have to listen to the fans. They want the humour, the real people.
“But I think they are really trying to keep the essence of the show, the social experiment, people from all walks of life connecting.
“We need to step away from influencers and models and go back to people like me, Brian Dowling, Pete Bennett, Jade Goody – people that created the foundations for this amazing show.
“We created reality TV – the whole genre was based on that show. ‘Love Island; is very generic. I find it’s not real. There’s no soul to it. I’m sick and tired of forced love relationships.”

Tyrese Gibson hasn’t seen the script for Fast and Furious finale yet

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyrese Gibson hasn’t seen the script for the next ‘Fast and Furious’ yet.
After ‘Fast X’ ended on a major cliffhanger, fans have been clamouring to see the final installment in the series as soon as possible, but the 45-year-old actor has now admitted audiences may have to wait a little longer as he has not received the screenplay from director Louis Leterrier or the franchise’s lead star Vin Diesel.
When the ‘Black and Blue’ actor was asked about the film’s status during an appearance on the ‘Happy, Sad, Confused’ podcast, he said: “I haven’t read a script yet. I’ve talked to the director, I’m constantly in touch with Vin Diesel and they do really well at keeping this franchise afloat and the moment that I get the call, I’m going to show up and try and do my job and hope that they’re still happy with what I bring to the table.”
The upcoming flick – which is titled ‘Fast X: Part II’ – is said to pick up immediately after the events of the last picture, and Diesel, 57, has promised fans the film will “hit you hard”.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a throwback picture of himself with his former co-star Paul Walker – who died in a car accident in November 2013, aged 40 – and added the caption: “While doing ADR this week on the Universal lot, for a beautifully written piece by Chris Morgan … I was reminded of the blessed moments along this journey… where bonds transcended film.
“‘Fast X: part II’, written by Zach Dean … is going to hit you hard!
“Hope to make you proud! (sic).”
Looking to the movie – which is set to hit theatres in 2026 – the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actor emphasised the picture will be a “celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together”.
In a separate post on Instagram, he penned: “Just finished our end of the week Fast meeting with the writers and the whole team… to say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. So exciting…
“While everyone was heading into the weekend amped and excited, I thought of you all… reminded of the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving force behind our creative journey. Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution… as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound.
“Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that because of you, transcends the screen.
“This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together. (sic)”

Corrie’s Richard Fleeshman is expecting his first baby with fiance Celinde Schoenmaker

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Fleeshman and Celinde Schoenmaker are expecting their first child together.
The 35-year-old actor – who is best known to TV audiences for playing Craig Harris on ‘Coronation Street’ in the early 2000s – is currently engaged to West End star Celinde, also 35, and she took to social media on Sunday (04.08.24) to reveal the news.
She wrote on Instagram: “We’ve not met you yet, but never been more in love.
“I don’t think Luna (the couple’s beloved pet cat) realizes she’s not gonna be the cutest in the household for much longer. @rfleeshman so many new adventures ahead.”
Richard commented with a string of heart emojis underneath the post, and several other famous faces were quick to send their congratulatory messages.
Former ‘Love Island’ host Laura Whitmore wrote: “Congrats guys!!” and ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ winner Giovanna Fletcher – who is also known for her marriage to McFly star Tom Fletcher – wrote: “I love this for you all!!! Xxxxxxx”
Giovanna’s sister-in-law and influencer Carrie Hope Flecther – who used to appear in West End musicals but now creates content around being a parent since giving birth to Mabel Hope earlier this year – claimed that being a mother would “suit” her former ‘Les Miserables’ co-star “so well” as she sent her well-wishes.
She said: “What a journey you’re about to embark upon! Motherhood already suits you so well. ”
Former ‘X Factor’ contestant and musical theatre actress Lucie Jones wrote: “Congratulations lovely”, and ‘EastEnders’ actor Bradley Jaden – who is also known for treading the boards – left a string of love heart eye emojis.
Since departing the ITV1 soap opera in 2006, Richard – who is the son of former ‘Brookside’ actress Sue Jenkins and director David Fleeshman – has carved out a career in musical theatre himself, having starred in shows such as ‘Ghost’ and ‘Legally Blonde’, but was also recently back on screen in an episode of ‘Death in Paradise’.
Celinde – who met Richard in 2018 – made her name in West End theatre, having relocated from her native Holland in 2013 to play Fantine in ‘Les Miserables’ and then went on to star as Christine Daae in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.

M Night Shyamalan says next movie will be a ‘cool kind of flip on a genre’

OHMYGOSSIP — M. Night Shyamalan has teased his next film will be a “cool kind of flip on a genre”.
The 53-year-old director recently released his thriller ‘Trap’ – which sees a serial killer called Cooper A.K.A. The Butcher (Josh Hartnett) come to realise the pop concert he took his daughter (Ariel Donoghue) to was an FBI plot to catch him – and has revealed he is already working on a new project that will have a unique take on a popular film genre.
He told Collider: “I’m still learning about it. It has a really cool kind of flip on a genre, so I’m very excited about that. I haven’t done this particular subject matter, and I’ve always been interested in it. But it’s an odd way to come into it again.
“I’m really interested now, like with ‘Trap’ , kind of going at subject matters, like serial killers, but doing it from an angle that you haven’t seen before.”
The filmmaker reflected on the process of falling in love with an idea for a movie, and added he knows the concept is a winner when he needs to discover how the story concludes before he’s penned it.
He explained: “I think it’s irrational. There’s a love thing. For example, the closest thing I can think of is when we put the trailer out for a ‘Trap’, it was such an incredible reaction to the trailer—the biggest of my career.
“That feeling that they had about the premise and watching those images, I have two years earlier when I’m just imagining it, and I’m like, ‘Oh, a concert and they set a trap for a serial killer, but you’re with the serial killer. This could be so fun! The kids are screaming and he’s trying to get out, and it’s really inappropriate. They’re being silly and he’s trying to be a dad.’
“I was like, ‘Whoa, that’s fun!’ So in a way, the way you react to the premise, two years earlier, I get excited and I wanna know how that ends.”
The director added it was “fun” to try to find the balance of getting the audience to root for The Butcher to escape the FBI, while reminding them the serial killer also acts as the picture’s antagonist.
He explained: “That was the fun part, both of the creating and then to put [the audience members] in the shoes of him and kind of, against your will, root for him. He’s both the protagonist and the antagonist. It’s fun to flip.
“Then, the structure of the movie at some point shifts to him as the antagonist, and so you’re frightened. That’s a beautiful thing of structure which I enjoyed writing, and Josh enjoyed performing. You’re with him, with him, with him, and then you’re frightened.”
