Linda Robson insists she hasn’t fallen out with Pauline Quirke

OHMYGOSSIP — Linda Robson has insisted she is still on good terms with Pauline Quirke.
The actresses are known for having starred as sisters Tracey and Sharon Stubbs in sitcom ‘Birds of a Feather’ but rumours of a fall-out began to circulate when Pauline, 62, declined to appear in the 2020 Christmas special, and now Linda has claimed it was only because her former co-star wanted to quit acting.
She said: “People say Pauline and I have fallen out. Obviously I couldn’t see her during lockdown but I’ve seen her since. She just doesn’t want to act anymore. She’s had enough – it’s long hours. She’s concentrating on her drama academies. She’s very hands on, going to classes and all that.”
The 63-year-old actress also revealed she still speaks to Lesley Joseph, who starred alongside the pair as their promiscuous neighbour Dorien Green.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I see Lesley [Joseph] all the time because we won ‘Celebrity Coach Trip’ last year. And during the lockdowns I would leave funny things on her doorstep, like Tena Lady and hair dye!”
Linda – who took a lengthy break from her regular role on ITV chat show ‘Loose Women’ while she battled personal issues with alcohol and obsessive compulsive disorder – explained that her co-stars kept in touch with her regularly throughout her ordeal.
She added: “But when I was ill, both Pauline and Lesley rang me, or a member of my family, every couple of days to see how I was. They were both a big support and really there for me.”
Linda has appeared on ‘Loose Women’ as a regular since 2012, and she joked that while some people may be “scared” of her fellow panellist Janet-Street Porter, she is a really “lovely caring woman”.
She said: “Janet Street Porter rang me every day when I was off. People can be a bit scared of Janet – but she’s actually a pussycat, a really lovely caring woman!”

Billy Joel biopic is in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — A Billy Joel biopic is in the works.
The movie is titled ‘Piano Man’ and is being developed by Michael Jai White’s Jaigantic Studios with Adam Ripp tapped to write and direct.
The flick will follow Billy’s early years – that saw him discovered by his first manager Irwin Mazur at the age of 16, his performances with a Long Island cover band in the 1960s and the breakthrough performance in 1972 that captured the attention of legendary record producer Clive Davis.
However, Billy’s representative says that the singer will not be involved with the movie and that no rights in music, name or likeness or life story will be granted to film chiefs.
Jaigantic Studios have instead acquired the life rights to Mazur, who managed Billy from 1965 to 1972 – the year before his breakthrough song and album ‘Piano Man’ was released.
According to the producers, music needs for the film are “yet to be determined”.
‘Piano Man’ will be executive produced by Jaigantic Studios along with producers White, Mayne Berke and Donovan de Boer – along with Mazur and Ripp.
Ripp’s father Artie signed Billy to his first record deal as a solo artist and produced his debut album ‘Cold Spring Harbor’ in 1971.
He said in a statement: “Billy Joel has been a part of my life since my father signed him to his record label when I was four years old; his music is ingrained in my DNA and it’s been a dream of mine as a filmmaker to explore and celebrate the untold story of how Billy Joel became the Piano Man.”
Mazur added: “What a dream come true! These are the real-life events I witnessed first-hand that shaped Billy from a keyboard player in the local Long Island band, The Hassles, into the iconic musician, singer-songwriter and entertainer who thrills audiences around the world, today.”

Dylan O’Brien explains Teen Wolf movie snub

OHMYGOSSIP — Dylan O’Brien didn’t want to be a part of the ‘Teen Wolf’ movie.
The 30-year-old star played Stiles Stilinski in the MTV supernatural TV series but will not be involved in the big screen revival as he chose not to revisit the role.
Speaking to Variety, Dylan said: “It was a difficult decision. A lot went into it.
“The show couldn’t be more dear to me. It was the first thing I ever did and so many people there are extremely dear to me.”
Dylan admits that he was approached to star in the movie – which will see the return of original cast members Tyler Posey and Crystal Reed – but things “happened very fast” and he ultimately made the decision not to feature in the project.
He said: “It was something I was trying to make work but it all happened very fast. We didn’t really know that it was happening and they kind of just threw it at us a little bit, which is fine because we all love the show.
“Ultimately, I just decided it was left in a really good place for me and I still want to leave it there.”
Despite his absence, Dylan expressed home that the film performs well.
The ‘Maze Runner’ star said: “I wish them well and I’m going to watch it the first night it comes out. I hope it f****** kicks a**, but I’m not going to be in it.”
Tyler played Scott McCall in the original series and is looking forward to playing an older version of his alter ego.
He said: “I think what I’m most excited for is to see them age. We were in high school for what seemed like 10 years. I’m excited to see them age and get out of high school.
“High school was such a character in itself on the show, so I’m excited to see how it’s going to be without that sort of character of a school involved. It will be interesting.”

ITV pull all live broadcasting following a bomb threat

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV has pulled all live broadcasting following a bomb threat.
‘This Morning’ had been airing in its usual midmorning slot on Thursday (10.03.2022) when the show returned from an ad break and regular presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby appeared in a pre-recorded segment explaining to viewers that they were unable to continue with the programme.
The show’s official Twitter account posted: “We apologise for the break in live programming today. We are currently running pre-recorded content and hope to be back with you soon.”
It is not known exactly why the programme was hastily taken off air, but Transport For London had issued a tweet detailing a “security alert” at the White City tube station, which is situated close to show’s broadcasting home at Television Centre.
The tweet read: “White City and Wood Lane stations closed: While the police respond to a security alert outside the station.”
Police were called to the area shortly after 11am after a “suspicious item” had been discovered and the incident was “stood down” over an hour later but an investigation is ongoing .
A statement from the Metropolitan Police reads: “At 11:14hrs on Thursday, 10 March, police were called to reports of a security alert at Wood Lane, White City. It was reported a suspicious item had been discovered.
“The area was evacuated as a precaution and White City and Wood Lane tube stations were temporarily closed. The incident was stood down shortly before 12:49hrs. An investigation is ongoing.”
‘Loose Women’ was also cancelled, with the live lunchtime chat show – which was due to air in its usual slot immediately after ‘This Morning’ – taken off air and replaced with a pre-recorded episode.

OHMYGOSSIP — Akeem Bundu-Kamara has been fired in a double elimination from BBC’s ‘Apprentice’.
The strategy manager, who’s bad choice of branding let him down in previous tasks, faced the wrath of Lord Sugar after he failed to impress the business mogul with his poor choice of packaging.
Tonight’s (10.03.22) episode saw both teams having to come up with a new baby food product.
Akeem’s choice of ‘First Time Foodies’ as the logo, which read as ‘First Time Dies’, resulted in no sales despite Harpreet’s product delivering in taste, that almost generated 10,000 units worth of sales had it not been for the branding.
The 72-year-old business mogul – who brought back all candidates into the boardroom after they failed to sell any products to the retailer – wasn’t just finished with Aaron who was the first to get fired tonight.
Lord Sugar said: “This is the most diabolical situation with two bad products that there are now going to be four people in the famous five.”
He then turned to Akeem, who’s label “sounds like a Bond movie” and said:
“Akeem you were part of the team that came up with that label, it was the reason why you never got any orders.
“I don’t feel that I’ve seen much from you in the past 10 weeks. Regretfully Akeem you’re fired.”
Reflecting on his experience of being the last man standing, Akeem said: “Feeling extremely gutted as you can imagine! To technically make the final five, but not to make it to the interview stage, well, it’s unfortunate but I feel like I’ve done well. Two wins as PM so, I’ve definitely got things to be proud of and now it’s all about advancing with my business.
“All the girls were very confident, they had very applicable skill sets to the tasks; marketing, event management and others, which I think really helped.
‘I feel like my business, and the way I approach business, is very different to others and is why I would have been a perfect business partner for Lord Sugar. But, at the end of the day, he made the decision not to invest in me and my business and that’s his prerogative. I would rather have a strong yes off somebody who wants it, rather than a half-hearted yes.”

Alicia Vikander ‘replaces Michelle Williams in Firebrand’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Vikander has replaced Michelle Williams in ‘Firebrand’.
The 33-year-old star is to take on the role of Katherine Parr, King Henry VIII’s sixth and final wife, in the movie, which is based on Elizabeth Fremantle’s historical novel ‘Queen’s Gambit’.
Williams was announced in the role in July last year, but Deadline have confirmed Vikander is now in the part.
Jude Law will play Henry in the film, which will be helmed by Brazilian filmmaker Karim Ainouz, his first English language movie.
Ainouz previously said: “I could not be more excited to be bringing the undiscovered story of Katherine Parr to the screen, a ferociously brilliant woman who I am inspired by deeply and has been largely invisible, or certainly under-represented in English history.
“Much is known about Henry VIII’s tyrannical reign, and those who perished and suffered at his hands, but my focus here is on a woman who not only managed to survive, but also, to thrive.
“This is a reimagining of a ‘period’ film, a psychological horror film set in the Tudor court; a story of intrigue, agency and survival.”
The film is being produced by Gabrielle Tana of Magnolia Mae Films and written by Henrietta and Jessica Ashworth.
Speaking in July, Tana said: “I love all of Karim’s work to date and I’m so excited to be working with him.
“We’re going to be shooting at the beginning of next year and we’ve already assembled a great team with Hélène Louvart, Maria Djurkovic and Lisa Duncan as well as Nina Gold.”

Austin Butler is eyed for this role in Dune: Part Two

OHMYGOSSIP — Austin Butler is being eyed to play Feyd-Rautha in ‘Dune: Part Two’.
According to Deadline, the ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ actor, 30, is in negotiations to play the sadistic younger nephew of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, who is the arch-nemesis of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet).
Sting played Feyd-Rautha in David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert’s epic novel of the same name.
The report comes after it was revealed that Florence Pugh is to play Princess Irulan, the daughter of Emperor Shaddam IV, who is yet to be cast, in the second half of Denis Villeneuve’s Oscar-nominated adaptation of the cult sci-fi classic.
Florence is said to be waiting for the latest draft of the script to read through before agreeing to join the sequel, while also making sure her schedule is free to shoot the motion picture.
‘Dune: Part 2’ will see Timothee, Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica) and Zendaya (Chani) all reprising their roles, and Denis recently admitted it will be “more challenging” than the first film.
He said: “I will say it is mostly designed. The thing that helps us right now is that it’s the first time I’ve revisited a universe. So I’m working with the same crew, everybody knows what to do, we know what it will look like.
“The movie will be more challenging, but we know where we are stepping. And the screenplay is written. So I feel confident. Frankly, the only big unknown for me right now is the pandemic.”
‘Dune’ has earned 10 Oscar nominations but some fans were disgruntled by the lack of focus on the villainous Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgard), which Denis claims was a result of adapting Frank Herbert’s novel across two films.
The 54-year-old director said: “When you adapt, you have to make bold choices in order for the things to come to life. In the second one, I want to have more flexibility, and it will be possible to go a little bit deeper into some of these details.”
Denis continued: “It’s like a chess game. Some new characters will be introduced in the second part and a decision I made very early on was that this first part would be more about Paul Atreides and the Bene Gesserit, and his experience of being in contact for the first time with a different culture.
“Second part, there will be much more Harkonnen stuff.”
Production is due to commence later this year, with the flick slated for release on October 20, 2023.

Toby-Alexander Smith to be ‘full-time dad’ after EastEnders exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Toby-Alexander Smith is going to be a “full-time daddy” for as long as possible following his ‘EastEnders’ exit.
The 32-year-old star’s serial killer character Gray Atkins was arrested for three murders on last night’s (10.03.22) dramatic episode of the BBC One soap, and the actor now plans to be a father to his and his ‘Emmerdale’ actress partner Amy Walsh’s two-month-old daughter Bonnie before picking up any other roles.
When asked what’s next for him, he said: “Changing nappies, fixing breast pumps. If I stand up, I just rock from side to side – that’s my go-to now, 24-7.
“There’s potentially some things in the pipeline but right now I am very happy to be a full-time daddy for as long as I can be.”
In last night’s ‘EastEnders’, Gray tried to evade capture from the police after confessing to the murder of his wife Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer), and while on the run he battered Shirley Carter (Linda Henry).
Gray – who also killed Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) and Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) during his reign of terror – tried to jump off a bridge, but he was stopped by Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths), and Toby-Alexander thinks it would’ve been “wrong” if his character had taken the “easy way out”.
He told Digital Spy: “I think all of the audience have obviously wanted justice for Chantelle, Tina and Kush for so long and it was important that we showed that justice and that comeuppance.
“There was no room for him to have an easy way out and it would have been wrong if they’d have done that. I do think, from the audience’s perspective, it’s a satisfying ending to the storyline.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Kelly has confirmed a battery in a package sent to her from a film company sparked an ITV evacuation yesterday (10.03.22).
The channel was forced to pull its live broadcasting yesterday afternoon, meaning ‘This Morning’ and ‘Loose Women’ was forced off air, following a bomb threat.
The ‘Lorraine’ host has now revealed a package sent to her “looked a little it suspicious” after being X-rayed, but it was “all fine and dandy”.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’ while previewing what is coming up on her show today (11.03.22), she said: “Apparently, I am told somebody from a film company sent me a wee present and it had a battery in it, and when they X-rayed it it looked a little bit suspicious. But it was all fine and dandy, and it’s OK.”
‘GMB’ presenter Kate Garraway said: “It’s lovely to know people are worried about you and are taking care of you isn’t it?”
Lorraine admitted one positive from the incident is that it shows “the system all works”.
She said: “It shows the system all works, so it’s all fantastic.”
‘GMB’ co-host Ben Shephard then joked: “The crew on ‘This Morning’ were thrilled to bits, because it meant they got to go outside for a couple of hours.”
Lorraine replied: “I know, what a shame. At least it proves the system works though.”
‘This Morning’ was in its final moments when the show went off air.
The show’s official Twitter account posted: “We apologise for the break in live programming today. We are currently running pre-recorded content and hope to be back with you soon.”

Joe Wicks recalls being pestered by female fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Wicks used to be inundated with private messages from amorous female fans.
The 36-year-old fitness coach built up a legion of female fans early in his career, but attitudes towards him have changed since he made ‘PE With Joe’, the YouTube series he filmed amid the first COVID-19 lockdown.
Joe shared: “There’s very little negative sentiment towards me these days. It used to upset me – I’d think I’m positive, so why are these people giving me a hard time? But I don’t even see it any more.”
The TV star used to receive lots of racy messages from his female fans. But now, they look at him in a different light.
Joe – who has Indie, three, and Marley, two, with Rosie Jones – told The Sun newspaper: “I used to get that in the early days. But back then on every shoot it would be like, ‘Right, get a broccoli in your hand, shirt off, oiled up.'”
Joe is determined to make his family his number-one priority, and he loves spending time with his kids.
He said: “Being a dad has made me more content. I’ve got more of a balance now. It’s so easy to work, work, work and take every opportunity but now I find the time to enjoy the little things.
“It’s non-negotiable that I do bath time and read the children a book before bed. I get so much happiness from that because I didn’t have that as a kid.”
Joe is also keen to have more kids in the coming years.
The fitness coach – who married Rosie in 2019 – shared: “I want a big family, as does Rosie, so that’s definitely in our future.
“We always say minimum four. I just love seeing them grow – there’s nothing better than being a parent.”

Michelle Dockery starring in Boy Kills World

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Dockery will star in the action-thriller ‘Boy Kills World’.
The 40-year-old actress has boarded a cast that already includes Bill Skarsgard, Jessica Rothe, Andrew Koji, Yayan Ruhian and Isaiah Mustafa.
Moritz Mohr will make his feature directorial debut on the movie. Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi will produce for Raimi Productions with Simon Swart and Wayne Fitzjohn also involved as producers via Nthibah Pictures.
The script has been written by Arend Remmers and Tyler Burton Smith.
Michelle is to play the sister of the film’s Van der Koy family. Her character Melanie is a satirical powerhouse who attempts to project a cohesive family image to hide their decaying dynasty.
Fitzjohn said in a statement: “We welcome Michelle to the Van der Koy clan and the film. It is a perfect role for Michelle.
“It’s an exciting time for the production with filming having begun just two weeks ago. We cannot wait to show the world the result.”
Michelle has starred in a variety of roles – from the period drama ‘Downton Abbey’ to the crime caper ‘The Gentlemen’ – and explained that she doesn’t have a particular career plan.
She said: “I don’t tend to be strategic, in a way that’s like, ‘Okay, I need to do this now because I just did X, Y and Z before.’ It really comes down to the writing and the character.
“Often, it’s whether I feel something, in my gut, for the character.”
Michelle will reprise her role as Lady Mary Crawley in the sequel ‘Downton Abbey: A New Era’ after admitting that the first movie “exceeded expectations”.
She said: “We were thrilled and, like with any show you’re a part of, you just never know what the appetite will be out there.
“Of course, people were wanting it to happen and willing it to happen, so we did it.
“But you never know how it’s going to turn out.
“However, it exceeded our expectations.”

Chris Pine ‘excited’ about new Star Trek film

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Pine says the ‘Star Trek’ cast are “excited” about the new film.
The 41-year-old actor is set to reprise his role as James T. Kirk for a fourth time in the upcoming ‘Star Trek’ flick but confirmed that he and his co-stars are still waiting for a script.
Chris told Variety: “I think everybody was like, ‘Did you hear about this?’ We’re usually the last people to find out, but I do know we’re all excited. Whenever they want to send us a script, we’re ready for it.”
The ‘Wonder Woman’ star added: “I don’t trust anybody, but I’m excited. I love the story. I love ‘Star Trek’. I love my people.”
Pine’s latest movie is the thriller ‘All the Old Knives’ and he explained how he got to work with an intimacy coordinator for the first time on the project.
He explained: “I had never done that before. You’re doing a sex scene in a bedroom and you have this older woman that’s watching and giving you notes on how to do the sex scene and I’m thinking, ‘Who is the person telling me how to have sex?’
“But it was wonderful. She was lovely. It just takes the pressure off. There’s just no discomfort, because you have someone like a referee making sure it’s all above board and everyone is comfortable.
“She’s also like a choreographer making sure it all translates well on screen like, ‘Move your neck’ or ‘Arch your back more’.”
Chris explained that the movie, which also features Thandiwe Newton and Laurence Fishburne, was a passion project for him.
He said: “By far, this was one of the better scripts I have ever read. It’s one of the best scripts I have ever read.”

Only Fools and Horses actor Ron Pember dies aged 87

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Only Fools and Horses’ actor Ron Pember has died aged 87.
The TV star passed away on Tuesday (08.03.22), with his grandson confirming the sad news via social media.
Paul Pember wrote on Twitter: “The sadness now is the happiness then. That’s the deal. 11.04.1934 – 08.03.2022 #ronpember #grandad (sic)”
Ron played the part of Baz, the Chairman of the Tenants’ Association, in series three of ‘Only Fools and Horses’.
And the sitcom’s official Twitter account has already paid tribute to his life and career.
A statement read: “We are saddened to hear of the news of the death of Ron Pember who played Baz in the series 3 episode ‘Homesick’
“Our thoughts and warm wishes go to his family and friends. (sic)”
Ron starred in a number of other TV shows during his career, including ‘Red Dwarf’ and the drama series ‘Secret Army’. However, he suffered a stroke in 1992 and subsequently retired from acting.
Danny John Jules – who starred as Cat in ‘Red Dwarf’ – has taken to social media to pay tribute to his former co-star.
The 61-year-old actor heaped praise on Ron, describing him as a “gentleman”.
He wrote on Twitter: “Just heard the sad news that Ron Pember has passed away. (Tuesday) He was such a gentleman with us upstarts when he appeared on #RedDwarf He just rammed his tongue firmly into his cheek and joined the party! What a legend. RIP (sic)”
The official ‘Red Dwarf’ account also acknowledged Ron’s contribution to the sitcom.
A post read: “RIP Ron Pember. A terrific character actor, stage director and dramatist who made a memorable appearance in Series II’s Better Than Life. (sic)”
Away from the TV industry, Ron wrote a stage musical about Jack the Ripper and the murder spree in London’s East End in the 1880s. The production is still performed around the world to this day.

Demi Jones ‘learning to live with’ side effects after battling cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Jones is “learning to live with” the side effects after battling cancer.
The former ‘Love Island’ star was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year, but she was later given the all-clear in December, and Demi admits she now feels she is in a second chapter of her life, and things are “going brilliantly”.
She said: “The people I’ve spoken to with cancer, we always say there’s life before cancer and there’s life after cancer and it’s never the same.
“You have to differentiate your life in two sections, so I’m learning to live with it and I’m learning to live with side effects and everything. But everything is going brilliant.”
After battling cancer, the 23-year-old star no longer worries about the “little things” in life that used to make her upset, and she has encouraged others to enjoy themselves and “just have fun”.
She added to OK!: “This is so cringe to be saying this when I’m 23 but it’s just made me look at life differently.
“In the fact that little things that used to bother me and little things that used to make me upset. Maybe friendship problems, boyfriend problems or little things like that I used to really worry about … they are just not a problem at all now.
“I’m still dealing with my dad at home, who is terminally ill, I’ve overcome cancer and I think life is so short. Enjoy yourself, do what you want to do, spend the money when you want to spend it and just have fun.”
In December, Demi announced she was free of cancer.
She wrote on Instagram: “I’M CANCER FREE!!!! I did it! I got my full body scan results back and there’s not a single cancer cell left in my body
“It’s been such a difficult year mentally and physically for me with my surgeries and treatment but I’m beyond grateful for everyone’s kindness and support over this past year.
“I will continue to be an advocate for cancer awareness and all my love and strength goes out to those who continue to fight this awful disease, here’s to a healthy and happy 2022. (sic)”

Brooke Vincent’s first-ever kiss was on Corrie

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooke Vincent’s first-ever kiss was with Sacha Parkinson on ‘Coronation Street’.
The 29-year-old actress made TV history in 2010 when she was part of the soap’s first-ever lesbian kiss, and Brooke has now revealed that it was also a landmark moment for herself.
The star – who appeared as Sophie Webster in the ITV soap – recalled: “It was like the end of the shoot and they brought it forward so we had no time to think about it.
“So bearing in mind, not only is this my first kind of lesbian on screen kiss, it’s my first kind of kiss.
“So I was a bit like, ‘Where we at here, do we do tongues, do we not, do I put my head this side, which side are you going? Have you brushed your teeth?’
“I remember we had a tea break beforehand. I remember saying, ‘Are you going to eat that?’ I think it was something like garlic, or like garlic and herb Philadelphia. To make light of it.”
Despite this, Brooke recalled having an “absolute ball” on set.
But the actress also remembers the social landscape being very different at the time.
Brooke – who has kids Mexx, two, and Monroe, nine months, with her footballer beau Kean Bryan – told ‘The Secret To’ podcast: “It was amazing. There wasn’t reality TV, there wasn’t young influencers, there wasn’t anything like, so we had an absolute ball.
“We thought we were so f****** important – it was like the nation’s favourite lesbian please, address me by my title.”
Brooke took a break from ‘Coronation Street’ in 2019 and for the time being, she doesn’t have any plans to return to the cobbles.
She said: “The boys need me at the minute, I haven’t got the commitment in me to say to ‘Corrie’, ‘Let me come back’.
“‘Corrie’ was and is very full-on when you’re busy and it makes me laugh because I know everyone has kids, but I’m like, ‘I’ve got kids so I can’t come at that time. I’ve got kids.’ ”

Sally Carman laughed at Sir Paul McCartney-like baby on Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Sally Carman was given a Sir Paul McCartney lookalike for her birth scene on ‘Coronation Street’.
The 40-year-old actress – who plays Abi Franklin on the ITV soap – couldn’t contain her laughter after being handed a prosthetic baby that looked like the Beatles icon.
Sally told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ‘He had a load of black hair – I was in hysterics. He morphed into Paul McCartney. They are so real. They breathe, they’ve got a pump. It’s like a little chicken.
“It’s really hard to do without crying because you think ‘my god, babies exist at this size and they’re so vulnerable’. It was both intense and hilarious.”
Abi is a recovering drug addict and she wasn’t even aware that she was pregnant before the traumatic birth.
And Sally has admitted to being blown away when she first learned about the plot.
She said: “My jaw was on the floor.
“The extremes are so brilliant to play. You really get to work those acting muscles.”
Meanwhile, Sally previously claimed she’s been pigeonholed in her career.
The actress explained that she’s always asked to play “the down-and-out” characters.
She said: “People love to cast me as the down-and-out, but it doesn’t bother me, they’re the best parts to play anyway. Some actors say they don’t want to be pigeon-holed, but for me that ship has sailed.
“I remember they put character breakdowns on screen for the visually impaired and one of the descriptions of Abi was, ‘She’s got very dirty blonde, greasy hair’. I actually wash it every day!
“You can’t have an ego in this job.
“But I’m all right with it and I’ve done various different characters in theatre. I played a posh MP, I’ve done Shakespeare and for years my bread and butter was radio plays.”
