OHMYGOSSIP — ‘MasterChef’ bosses are introducing a new ‘Tasting Room’ twist for the new series.
The culinary competition will return to BBC One on March 23, and producers are shaking up the first round as judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode won’t be watching the meals be prepared as they judge the dishes blind.
John said: “It keeps it really fresh and it keeps us fresh.”
In a press release, the Beeb explained: “The contestants must calm their nerves to focus on the food and deliver their standout Signature Dish – showing John and Gregg who they are as a cook and how good they could become.
“The judges don’t witness the action in the ‘MasterChef’ kitchen, but are served each dish in the new Tasting Room.
“Just like diners in a restaurant, they judge each contestant’s food solely on the plate that is put in front of them.
“John and Gregg pick their three favourite dishes, giving those cooks a well-earned MasterChef apron and immunity from cooking in the next round.”
There will be five heats with each featuring nine contestants, with the ‘Tasting Room’ seeing John and Gregg’s top three go to the next round, while the other six most cook again – it won’t be judged blind this time – and the bottom two will be sent home.
The semi finalists will then be given some tough challenges, with 20 returning contestants back to taste their meals.
To mark the centenary of the Royal British Legion’s crucial work with serving and ex-serving personel, the contestants will be tasked with delivering a lunch celebrating over 20 war veterans and fundraisers.
They will also have to make a dish inspired by hit single ‘Buttery Biscuit Base’.
Meanwhile, Gordon Ramsay will make a guest appearance as the final three will eventually take on the Chef’s Table challenge at his London restaurant.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Lancashire had no fear of taking on a role originally played by Meryl Streep.
The 57-year-old actress – who played ditsy barmaid Raquel Watts on ITV soap ‘Coronation Street’ in the 1990s and has since gone on to hold a starring role in ‘Happy Valley’ – has no qualms as she takes on the title role of US TV drama ‘Julia’ , a part made famous by Meryl Streep in the 2009 ‘film ‘Julie Julia’ because the project is “different.”
She said: “For me, it’s quite simple. It’s a completely different project and the nature of the project is different. The tone is different. You do 50 different Hamlets, you do 50 different actors, they’ll all be different. And so [playing the same part as Meryl] didn’t really occur to me.”
The original 2009 film charted the true story of Julia Child – a TV chef known for bringing French cuisine to the American public – and young New Yorker young New Yorker Julie Powel who attempts to cook all 524 recipes in her cookbook in 365 days, whereas the new HBO Max is thought to solely chart the life and career of Julia.
However, the former soap star went on to admit that the Meryl Steep film was of “benefit” to her research in that it brought the late chef to her attention but she eventually put all material away because the show is “not a documentary.”
She is quoted by The Mirror as saying: “The benefit from the film for me was that it was the first time I’d heard of Julia. Because she did not have a presence in the UK. But other than that, it didn’t really play any part in my preparation or participation of this piece at all. At some point, I put the written material away.It didn’t ­necessarily make sense with what we were trying to do, which was a drama as opposed to a documentary. I’m not a mimic. I can’t impersonate. Also, she did have this extraordinarily complex vocal change!”
‘Julia’ is set to premiere on HBO Max on 31.03.2022.

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Solomon is decking out Pickle Cottage for Easter.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist showed off her springtime makeover – a floral garland arch framing her front door – currently brightening up her home that she shares with her 40-year-old fiancee Joe Swash on Instagram.
The 32-year-old television personality wrote: “Spent the morning trying to do some more to the Easter door. Don’t judge it yet I have SO much more to do I’m trying to bulk it out [heart emoji].
Stacey – who is mother to Zach, 13, Leighton, nine, Rex, two, and Rose, six months – mused on how she preferred the “side with less” so was going to pare it back.
She said: “I think I prefer the right side with less so I’m going to pull apart the right side a bit and then pull them all around and cut out any sticky out bits and then start on some papier-mâché eggs.”
Stacey’s love of decorating has led to the success of ‘Sort Your Life Out’ – which sees Stacey and her team Robert Bent, Dilly Carter and Iwan Carrington help people deal with the chaos of clutter – that has been renewed for a second season, which she feels “lucky to help people through the process”
In reaction to the news, she said: “There’s nothing that brings me more joy than decluttering my home, so it was amazing to share my tips and tricks with wonderful families in the first series of ‘Sort Your Life Out’. “Letting go of belongings can be a really vulnerable, challenging and emotional experience. “I feel lucky to help people through the process and sort out their homes for the better. “I can’t wait to be reunited with my dream team Dilly, Robert and Iwan for more incredible transformations.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Maisie Smith is to make her TV comeback alongside Alison Hammond.
The 20-year-old actress – who played the role of Tiffany Butcher on BBC soap opera ‘EastEnders’ from 2008 until 2021 and also had a star turn on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ back in 2020 – is reportedly set to return to screens alongside Alison Hammond in a reboot of classic game show ‘Friends Like These.’
A source told The Sun Online: “Maisie has just filmed a pilot episode and it’s unclear if it’ll air but it’s a great sign she’s landing these kind of shows after Strictly and EastEnders.”
The show – which teams of best friends compete over a series of challenges for the chance to win a holiday – is thought to be presented by ‘This Morning’ stars Alison Hammond,47, and Dermot O’Leary, 48, and will follow the format of the show originally presented by Ant and Dec with Maisie expected to captain a team on the show.
The insider added: “Everyone thought Maisie was really great on the show – she’s so naturally funny – so it’ll be the first of many new jobs.”
The star – who recently replaced AJ Odudu on the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ tour – was last seen on ‘EastEnders’ at the end of December 2021, when Tiffany swapped Albert Square for Germany but made a recent return to the show to film a cameo appearance, which she teased will tie up a few loose ends.
Speaking on ‘Morning Live’, she told Kym Marsh: “I feel like no matter what I say I’m going to get in trouble. But what I can say is that I’m hoping that a few unresolved storylines will finally be answered.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Golda Rosheuvel had to wear a neck brace on the set of ‘Bridgerton’ due to her wig.
The 52-year-old actress – who plays Queen Charlotte on the steamy Netflix costume drama – also had to be driven to shoots in “a people carrier” because of the sky-high wig.
Golda told the Sun’s Bizarre TV Column: “My neck was getting tired, so the crew made me a neck brace. At one point I had to have a people carrier to take me and my wig to set.
“We were taught how to curtsy, how to open doors and how women would sit.”
The former ‘Silent Witness’ star – who will be seen in the second season of ‘Bridgerton’ when it premieres on 25 March – found it difficult to “lounge around in a corset,” particularly because she had to double up.
Golda said: “But it was hard to lounge around in a corset and I was double corseted — I had two of the f******.”
Other cast members have spilled on-set secrets as Jonathan Bailey – who plays Anthony Bridgerton, the aristocrat who falls for Simone Ashley’s Kate Sharma – who shared “the new tricks of the trade” used by the production’s intimacy coaches for his sex scenes.
The 33-year-old actor told the Radio Times: “There are new tricks to the trade — little cushions. It’s amazing what you can do with a half-inflated netball.
“If there are two people doing a sex scene, the rule is they must have three barriers separating them and there are certain acts where a half-inflated netball can allow for movement without having to connect physically.
“It’s pretty silly really and we have some hilarious moments. But it makes it less awkward.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Harrison doesn’t think there will ever be a reboot of ‘The Inbetweeners.’
36-year-old actor – who shot to fame as Neil Sutherland in the coming-of-age comedy series alongside Simon Bird, Joe Thomas and James Buckley – admitted that while the gang are “always asked” to make more, he thinks the show came to a definitive end with the show’s second spin-off movie almost a decade ago.
He said: “I feel like we have been done [with ‘The Inbetweeners’] since 2014. When we did the last film. When we last filmed the movie. But people like it, they always ask us to do more. I can’t see that happening but you never know.”
The actor is now returning to his role of decorator Dan in the second series of ITV sitcom ‘Kate and Koji’ – which also stars Brenda Blethyn as his aunt and seaside café owner Kate who strikes up an unlikely friendship with asylum seeker doctor – and explained how “weird” it was to have filmed a show in front of a live studio audience.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, he said: “I loved it. A lot of the sitcom that loved growing up were ‘Friends’ and ‘Frasier’ so to be able to do something like that when you’ve got the live audience is amazing. In rehearsals, it feels like you’ve got four and a half days to put on a very short play but you’ve got to realise you’ve got a couple of hundred in the audience and you’ve got to wait for them to laugh or they might laugh when you’re not expecting it. But you’ve also got to do it for the cameras and the millions of people at home so it’s a weird hybrid between TV and theatre.”
The second series of ‘Kate Koji’ is set to premiere on ITV1 on 16.03.2022 at 9pm.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola Coughlan fears “having nothing” despite her television success .
The 35-year-old actress was “in debt” and working low-paid jobs before landing roles in sitcom ‘Derry Girls’ and Netflix drama ‘Bridgerton’ but still worries about money even after making it big.
She told RTE Guide: “The fear of having nothing is still there. I was in debt with student loans, I was working minimum wage and the rent was so high.”
The star went on to admit that it is only since landing the role of Irish teenager Clare Devlin in the hit sitcom set during The Troubles that she has been able to afford small luxuries without worrying about the cost and it is “still a privilege” to audition after years of struggling to get her foot through the door.
She said: “I only got ‘Derry Girls’ five years ago so it’s not that long since I’ve been able to go and buy a coffee and not have a panic attack. I reckon I’ll have a few more years of thinking ‘I hope I have some money in my bank account’. You know what it’s like not to have all those things and you know how hard you’ve worked to get there. So for me to even be on a set is a privilege, to get an audition is a privilege because for years I couldn’t even get in an audition room.”
Nicola stars as Penelope Featherington in ‘Bridgerton’ and teased that the second series of the steamy costume drama – which is set to premiere on 25 March – is “so good”.
She wrote on Twitter: “I’ve just seen the finale of Season Two of ‘Bridgerton’ and it is so good I am FREAKING OUT.”
Nicola added: I loved it so much! I didn’t breathe! My heart was doing 120bpm the whole way through! (Genuinely).”(sic)

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack wants Miriam Margolyes to guest star on ‘Celebrity Juice’
The former Inbetweeners’ actress – who replaced Holly Willoughby as a team captain back in 2020 -has been discussing ideas about potential guests ahead of the shows return is getting ready for its return to ITV2 next Thursday (24.03.22) and named the outspoken actress as a particular favourite, along with documentary star Louis Theroux.
Emily told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “I think Miriam Margolyes needs to come on. She is just incredible. Big Narstie was a guest for the first show back this series and had us all crying with laughter. I’d love to have Louis Theroux on my team because it’s Louis Theroux.”
However, the comedienne – who is the daughter of entertainer Kate Robbins – admitted that while her mum would be “hilarious” as a guest on the show, she wouldn’t want her parents involved due to its adult nature.
She added: “[My mum] would be hilarious, no doubt. But I think there are too many adult toys and cat food flying around for parents to be involved.”
‘Celebrity Juice’ frontman Keith Lemon also joked that his co-star never turns down the offer of a drink on the show.
He said: “When does it ever not get boozy? I’ll say ‘Emily are you having a drink tonight?’ And she’ll say ‘Yeah always!’”
Keith – whose real name is Leigh Francis – has been getting on with the new line-up and enjoying the company of Emily, as well as former ‘Love Island’ presenter Laura Whitmore – who replaced Fearne Cotton on the show.
He added: “We’ve known each other for years. The three of us didn’t realise how far back we go; we’ve worked together a lot before.
“I like the idea that we can become a solid three and do more things in the future.
“We’ve created a little tight gang already, it’s nice. We filmed something on location, which was kind of like our bonding.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘This Morning’ presenter Dermot O’Leary admitted everything is “fine” with the show after a “security scare” forced the programme to stop broadcasting live yesterday (10.03.22).
The 48-year-old TV presenter and his co-host Alison Hammond addressed the situation at the start of today’s (11.03.22) show, after both ‘This Morning’ and ‘Loose Women’ were forced to halt their usual live broadcasts yesterday as ITV staff members had to evacuate the show’s broadcasting home at Television Centre.
Dermot – who was watching the show from home yesterday while Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby co-hosted – said: “Well we both had a very relaxing day yesterday watching the show from home.
“If you were watching the show yesterday you would have noticed that we came off air a little earlier than usual, there was a security scare, but it was all fine.”
Alison said: “Thank goodness, thank goodness.”
Dermot added: “Someone sent a strange bottle of wine to Lorraine! Nothing to worry about. As you can see were ready for a fun packed Friday.”
Earlier this morning, ‘Lorraine’ host Lorraine Kelly confirmed a battery in a package sent to her from a film company sparked the evacuation, as it had to be secured after “looking a little bit suspicious” following an X-ray.
She said: “Apparently, I am told somebody from a film company sent me a wee present and it had a battery in it, and when they X-rayed it it looked a little bit suspicious. But it was all fine and dandy, and it’s OK.
“It shows the system all works, so it’s all fantastic.”
‘This Morning’ was in its final moments when the show went off air yesterday.
The show’s official Twitter account posted: “We apologise for the break in live programming today. We are currently running pre-recorded content and hope to be back with you soon.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Johnny Vegas: Carry On Glamping’ has been recommissioned by Channel 4 for another season.
The original series saw the 51-year old comedian and his assistant Bev set out to create the UK’s grooviest glamping site located in the North Yorkshire countryside, made out of vintage, repurposed cars with the help of bus enthusiasts.
The new six-part series will follow Vegas and Bev around as they set about developing their glamping business, after two years of hard work it finally opened its doors in 2021.
Johnny said: “It blew both Bev and I away how lovingly received Carry On Glamping was – I still think it should’ve been called What Can Go Wrong Will Go Wrong.
“Still, the success of our wee field and the joy every vehicle brought to so many was heart-warming. Between Patricia and Lol’s Bar [named after his nickname for his Dad] it definitely helped keep their memory alive and gave me the bug for rescuing more vehicles in need of a loving home.
“My bank manager, accountant and, of course, Bev are all thrilled that we we’re not stopping at just one Maltese bus. We will dearly miss our field and friends in Yorkshire, but the search for a new home to park our dreams upon has indeed begun, as planning meant we couldn’t expand and I’d have nowhere to park my new, well presently knackered, helicopter –UK bought as Bev has said strictly no more imports or burning ferries.”
The series will show the struggles Vegas had to overcome to make his dreams a reality, from ferry fires to devastating car crashes.
The site became a success, but denied planning permission means they will have to find a different alternative to expand their ever-growing business – which they hope to host events and music gigs at – as Vegas is hoping to restore more vintage vehicles including an old helicopter.
Jonny Rothery, commissioning editor for Channel 4, said: “Following Johnny’s journey to open his glampsite was a rollercoaster of emotions, funny, heartfelt, perilous and poignant. I’m so pleased Johnny and Bev are back to do it all again, and in a longer series commission, as we see them attempt to bring even bigger plans to life.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The messages Steve Dymond sent before taking his own life after appearing on ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ have been revealed.
Steve died of a suspected overdose, aged 63, in 2019, and his final messages are being used as part of an investigation into an allegation of lack of care for guests on the ITV show.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, his final texts read: “I hope the Jeremy Kyle Show is so happy now.
“They are responsible for what happens now. I hope this makes good ratings for them. I bet they keep this quiet.”
Steve took a lie detector test on the show in a bid to prove he hadn’t cheated on his fiancée, Jane Callaghan, and always maintained he’d not played away.
Another message reads: “Never never never did I cheat on you. Never never. My final words.”
The episode led Jane to end their relationship and Steve took his own life shortly afterwards.
His death prompted ITV to end the show after 14 years on the air.
At the time, Jeremy said: “Myself and the production team are all utterly devastated by the recent events.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with Steve’s family and friends.”
A new Channel 4 documentary, called ‘Jeremy Kyle Show: Death on Daytime’, is investigating how the show treated its guests.
Someone who worked on the ITV programme said: “I felt like I had blood on my hands. We felt like we killed someone.”
Meanwhile, Jane has admitted to being shocked by Steve’s suicide – even though he’d previously spoken about it.
She shared: “He had [expressed suicidal thoughts before] but he was always saying it. I feel so sorry for him, I didn’t think he would do it.”
ITV has insisted ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ had “extensive, detailed duty of care processes” over its 14 years on TV.
They said: “The show had extensive, detailed duty of care processes in place for contributors built up over 14 years.
“Should they require ongoing help appropriate solutions were found. Due to the gravity of events in May 2019, ITV decided to end production of the show. It would not be appropriate to comment further on that in advance of the inquest this month.
“ITV does not accept the central allegation of this programme of a ‘bad culture’ within the production team. ITV would never condone any of its production staff misleading or lying to guests.
“All guests were aware of the nature of the show and the presenter’s style before taking part. All guests gave their informed consent, in writing, to take part.
“Since 2018 ITV has taken significant steps in relation to its duty of care of participants.”
Channel 4 said: “Jeremy Kyle was approached for a response to the series. He did not provide a statement for broadcast. We will reflect his position in the film.”
