OHMYGOSSIP — Ukweli Roach is to lead the cast in new BBC thriller ‘Wolf’
The 35-year-old actor – who is known for playing the role of FBI psychiatrist Dr. Robert Borden on crime drama ‘Blindspot’ -will now star as DI Jack Caffery who becomes obsessed with the neighbour he believes murdered his 10-year-old brother back in the 1990s, in an series based on Mo Hayder’s acclaimed novels and brought to the screen by Megan Gallagher.
In a statement, he said: “I’m honoured to be taking on the role of Jack Caffrey in Wolf. Megan Gallagher has brought Mo Hayder’s dark storylines into focus in a way that will be challenging, but also every actor’s dream. I can’t wait to bring Jack to life.”
The actor will be joined by a slew of famous faces in the six part series including the likes of Juliet Stevenson and ‘Line of Duty’ star Owen Teale who play the roles of a wealthy couple find themselves being tortured by a psychopath.

Former ‘Doctor Who’ star Sacha Dhawan and ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Iwan Rheon also join the ensemble cast as a mismatched professionals forced together on a job, along with ‘Emmerdale’ alum Sian Reese-Williams as an ambitious DI.

The six-part series has started filming in Wales and and is set to on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, with an air date to be announced.

OHMYGOSSIP — Denise Van Outen has revealed she was a victim of revenge porn after being filmed when she was 15 years old.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress, now 47, has alleged a former boyfriend – referred to only as ‘Mike’ – claimed he had an intimate video of her as a teenager, and he failed to sell the tape to a newspaper in 1990s because the date revealed she was under the legal age of consent in the UK.
Detailing the incident in her autobiography ‘A Bit Of Me: From Basildon To Broadway And Back’, Denise wrote: “Revenge porn is talked about a lot these days, but it wasn’t a widespread term back then.
“Looking back, Mike could be manipulative – cruel, even. We dated for over a year and in the end Mike was the boy I lost my virginity to.”
The tape emerged years later, and her ex was questioned by police who found recordings of other girls.
Although the case went to court, he was not jailed, while he was warned by the judge that he would be sent to prison if any of tapes went public.
Denise continued: “Revenge porn is talked about a lot these days, but it wasn’t a widespread term back then.
“Looking back, Mike could be manipulative – cruel, even. We dated for over a year and in the end Mike was the boy I lost my virginity to.”
Elsewhere in her book the former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant has opened up on her break-up from fiancé Eddie Boxshall in January after seven years together after she discovered that he had been sexting and messaging other women behind her back.
She claimed she found photos and Instagram messages on his iPad, including “a screenshot of a woman’s breasts”.
As well as claiming he went out with another woman on a day he said he was in London for business, she found messages suggesting “phone sex” with a third woman, whom she decided to contact.
She added: “To me, sexual chats and continued communication over a long period of time amount to cheating.”
While she confronted him about the women, he denied any wrongdoing, and she told him to leave their home.

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Bowles has died aged 85.
The ‘To The Manor Born’ actor – best known for his role as self-made businessman Richard DeVere in the classic BBC sitcom opposite Dame Penelope Keith (Audrey fforbes-Hamilton) – has passed away, as confirmed by his agent.
In a statement, Bowles agent revealed he had “sadly passed away from cancer”.
He is survived by his wife Susan Bennett, whom he had been married to for over 60 years, and their three children Guy, Adam and Sasha.
His agent referenced the actor’s early performances at the Old Vic Theatre in 1956, and Bowles went on to star in 45 theatrical productions, with his stage career ending aged 81 in ‘The Exorcist’ at the Phoenix Theatre.
He continued to work on stage and screen, become a household name in the role of DeVere.
He appeared on ‘To The Manor Born’ from 1979 to 1981, while he and Keith reprised their roles for a 2007 special.
He also appeared in other TV series like ‘The Avengers’, ‘The Saint’, ‘Only When I Laugh’ and ‘Perfect Scoundrels’.
He also appeared on the big screen in the likes of ‘Eyewitness’, ‘The Steal’, ‘Colour Me Kubrick’ and ‘The Bank Job’, while in 2016 he starred in BBC Two series ‘Murder’, and he recently played the Duke of Wellington alongside Jenna Coleman in ‘Victoria’.
Tributes are pouring in for the late actor, with former ‘Good Morning Britain’ star Piers Morgan among those paying their respects.
He tweeted: “RIP Peter Bowles, 85. Wonderful actor who exuded roguish British charm.
“Loved him in To The Manor Born, Lytton’s Diary The Boulder. Sad news. (sic)”
A fan wrote: “R.I.P. PETER BOWLES… To the Manor born was one of me favourite programmes… Loved his smile and genuine nice guy.”
Another added: “RIP to the incomparable Peter Bowles. For many of us, he defined suave and sophistication. Although that actually slightly undersells his gifts as an actor, which were considerable.”

The former ‘TOWIE’ star has revealed part of her daily routine has included stripping off and running around her lawn, as it made her feel “at one with nature”.
Speaking on an upcoming episode of the BBC panel show ‘Would I Lie to You?’, Gemma insisted that there is nothing more liberating than dancing naked on the lawn of her £1.3 million mansion, which she previously dubbed the ‘Buckingham Palace of Essex’.
Gemma, 41, said: “I love to dance naked in my back garden. I do it every morning. It makes me feel at one with nature. It’s so liberating.
“I love the feeling of the grass under my feet.”
The reality star wasn’t worried about being seen thanks to the 100 trees she planted to block the view of the nosy neighbours.
The reality star previously received a giant elephant statue from a charity, after donating £22,000 to help the animals in India, and it provides another obstacle in her garden that protected her privacy.
And the GC has also admitted she loves to “hug a tree”.
As quoted by The Sun Online, she added: “Whenever I get stressed, I hug a tree,” she said. “It’s all about the energy.
“It makes me feel grounded. I like a good 20 minutes with a tree.”
Recently Gemma shared a fully clothed snap of herself out on the lawn which showed off her weight loss transformation.
The picture, which was posted to her Instagram, showed her posing in a white pair of skinny jeans looking the slimmest she has ever looked, in order to promote her new Spring GC clothing range.
The media personality – who has reportedly lost five stone since embarking on a weight loss journey, after her appearance on 2018’s ‘Dancing On Ice’ – shocked fans with her results.

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer was left mortified after being caught accidentally stealing over £100 worth of petrol.
The ‘EastEnders’ actor recalled the embarrassing incident that led him to calling the fraud squad after receiving a letter in the post claiming he had driven off a forecourt without paying.
Speaking on an episode of the ‘Sorted With The Dyers’ podcast – which he fronts with daughter Dani – he said: “I received a letter in the post and it was from a bailiff company saying they were going to come round and start taking things from my house because I haven’t paid my petrol bill.
“I thought: ‘Oh hold on a minute what do you mean?’ Apparently I drove onto a petrol forecourt and I filled my car up and then said I haven’t got the money to pay for it.
“I’m lucky, I’ve got readies – there’s no way in the world I would do that.”
The 44-year-old soap star – who was convinced someone had stolen his identity – called the fraud squad as well as the police to get to the root of the problem.
He added: “I took the letter – queued up in the petrol garage. Interestingly, the Old Bill walked in. There was a copper in there.
“I said: ‘I’m glad you’re here because someone’s been pretending to be me and I want to find out what’s going on.’
“I went up and said: ‘Where’s the manager, what the f****** hell is this? Listen I come in here often, I can’t believe you’re accusing me of not paying my petrol.’
“She said: ‘One second’ and went to the back. I was standing there f****** fuming.”
It turned out ‘The Football Factory’ actor had in fact only paid for his shopping – which included a microwave meal, fizzy sweets and a chocolate orange.
Danny revealed: “She comes out with pictures of me filling up my car on the exact date. She then pulled out a receipt and showed me everything I’d bought that day other than the petrol. It was me, ladies and gentlemen.
“What happened is there’s a cashier in there, who’s a bit of a fan of mine. That day I bought myself a spaghetti bolognese to microwave at work, some fizzy sweets and a chocolate orange roll. I had a little shopping bag with me.
“He’s forgot to ask me if I’d bought petrol – so I drive off without paying £109 to fill up my car.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ross Kemp couldn’t “hide” behind a character on ‘The Bridge of Lies’.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor – who played hard man Grant Mitchell on the BBC One soap on and off from 1990 until 2016 – admitted he’s had to be himself as the host of his own game show, rather than relying on his Albert Square alter ego.
He’s quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column as saying: “You can’t be like somebody else.
“If you play a character like Grant Mitchell you can hide behind the leather jacket, the neanderthal-type walk, but as a host you have to be yourself.”
And while Ross confessed he never expected to be fronting a game show on the Beeb, he’s learned not to rule anything out.
He added: “It’s not necessarily where I thought I’d be but you know what? I loved it. It was very different from the rest of the year.
“At my age, rule everything in, rule nothing out.”
The new show – which started airing this week – sees contestants trying to cross a bridge made up of stepping stones across the studio floor.
They’ll look to earn cash by answering Ross’ questions, and the further along they get, the harder things will be.
He recently said: “When you’re halfway across, you’ve still got a long way to go, so don’t get too impressed with yourself. The Bridge can be kind, but it’s a formidable beast.
“The game relies on knowledge, strategy, and a little bit of luck. It’s loads of fun, but there’s also a lot of jeopardy involved.”
Meanwhile, the 57-year-old star previously admitted he’d love to return to ‘EastEnders’ in the future, having first appeared from 1990 to 1999 before returning for a year in 2005, and then making one more comeback.
The documentary maker said: “I miss acting sometimes. I miss the jokes and the camaraderie.
“You can never say you’ll never do something again, so it would be remiss of me to say I’d never go back to ‘EastEnders’.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV are in talks to bring back ‘Pop Idol’.
The talent show originally aired from 2001 to 2003, with Will Young named the first-ever winner and Michelle McManus triumphing in the second series, and channel bosses are said to have been holding talks with various people involved in the programme, including executive producer Simon Fuller about a new limited version of the programme.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It may or may not happen.
“But if it does, it isn’t likely to be a full series.”
After ‘Pop Idol’ was placed on indefinite hiatus, it was replaced by judge Simon Cowell’s new programme, ‘The X Factor’.
And original winner Will previouly claimed ‘Pop Idol’ was far more “naive” than its replacement.
Following the news of ‘The X Factor’ being axed, he previously said: “I was very lucky, ‘Pop Idol’ was fairly naive actually and it was genuinely just a singing competition. I think it can be tricky when there’s more outside sources at play, manipulating people. We weren’t manipulated, we did just turn up and sing.”
And he encouraged those behind ‘The X Factor’ to think about how they could make things better if the show ever returns.
He said: “I think it’s always good to have a bit of soul searching and maybe that’s what ‘X Factor’ needs to do. I’m really proud of ‘Pop Idol’ because I think things were done properly. Social media wasn’t around back then. People didn’t know what was going to happen. I think it’s a good thing and if things need to be redressed, then I hope they are.”
As well as Simon, ‘Pop Idol’ was also judged by Nicki Chapman, Pete Waterman and ‘Doctor’ Neil Fox.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hegerty has pulled out of the new series of ‘Beat The Chasers’ after testing positive for COVID-19.
The 63-year-old brainbox will be replaced by Issa Schultz, who is known for the Australian version of ITV quiz show ‘The Chase’, and has reassured fans she is feeling “fine”.
In a Twitter statement, Anne – who is nicknamed The Governess – said: “Unfortunately I’ve contracted Covid-19 so won’t be filming this series of #BeatTheChasers.
“The fantastic @Issa25 will be stepping in for me and I’m looking forward to watching the series when it’s on air later this year. I feel fine, but I’m still positive! (in all respects).”
ITV confirmed her replacement in their own statement, which read: “Unfortunately, Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty has contracted Covid-19, so won’t be filming the upcoming Beat The Chasers. We look forward to having her back on set soon.
“We’re thrilled #TheChase and #BeatTheChasers Australia’s @issaschultzofficial is able to step in.”
Meanwhile, Anne previously opened up about how she believes the coronavirus lockdown saved her from a breakdown.
The TV personality admitted the lockdown last year had been a saviour, as it’s allowed her to take a step back from her working life.
She said: “By the time lockdown came in, I was so burnt out, I’d had something like three colds in the space of five months because I was rushing around from place to place and suddenly having sobbing fits in the car.
“I really was, because there was just so much on my plate, there were so many things I was planning on.
“I look now at my diary for the beginning of last year and I think, ‘Well, you kind of were about to have a breakdown.'”
The London-born star relished having so much free time.
Anne realises she’d been lucky, compared to many other people.
She added: “What I have learnt most about the past year was that I absolutely do love having loads of free time.
“Obviously there are some things I love doing, like ‘Britain’s Brightest Family’, which is recorded in Manchester. I am absolutely fine with driving back to Manchester and sleeping in my own bed. I haven’t slept in a bed that wasn’t my own since January 7 last year and honestly, that’s brilliant.
“So whereas everyone else has suffered in lockdown, I’ve had a great time. I had money in the bank. And I knew there would be work to go back to. And I really liked having tonnes of unfilled free time. Plus I love my own company. I love my solitude.”

The 47-year-old actress – who shot to fame as host of ‘The Big Breakfast’ back in the 1990s and has since gone on to a long career on stage and screen – admitted that she flashed her bra at the royal when he was greeting pop group Steps at Party in the Park back in 1999.
She said: “I marched over to the window of the marquee, and while the Prince was shaking hands with the members of Steps, I called out to him, then pulled up my top and flashed my bra.”
The Basildon-born star – who these days is known for providing narrating reality seires’The Only Way is Essex’ – went on to explain that she hadn’t planned to flash at the Prince of Wales and joked that if she had she would have worn a classier bra.
She said: “I’m not sure what came over me, and it certainly wasn’t pre-meditated. If it had been, I’d have worn one of my posh bras rather than the Marks Spencer nude one my mum had got me!”
The ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ alum – who met her now ex-husband Lee Mead when he was a contestant on and eventual winner of BBC talent show ‘Any Dream Will Do’ and has 11-year-old Betsy with him – admitted that she has such “good memories” of her party days in the 1990s but it is only now that she has taken the time to appreciate them.
Writing in her new autobiography ‘A Bit Of Me: From Basildon To Broadway and Back’, she said: “I have such good memories of those days…it’s undoubtedly true that, good or bad, people got away with a lot more as far as partying went.” There were fabulous things happening all the time. It’s only now I can sit back and appreciate how incredible they actually were.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bonnie Langford is “too frightened” to have a facelift.
The 57-year-old actress – who shot to fame as a child on ‘Opportunity Knocks’ back in 1971 and has since sustained a lengthy career in television and musical theatre – has vowed to never go under the knife because she believes that her face “tells a story” and she will lose herself if she tries to look more youthful.
She said: “I would never contemplate having any work done to improve my looks. I’m too frightened and scared to do anything like that. In any case, I like the experience of living – of laughter and tears – to show in my face. I’m blessed with a certain joie de vivre. Those lines on my face tell a story!”
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress – who is set to return to the stage in a UK tour of classic musical ‘Anything Goes’ alongside former ‘Wicked’ star Kerry Ellis – also explained that she believes her longevity in showbusiness is down to the fact she has never wanted to be famous, she always had a passion for acting and performing.
In an interview with Baz Bamigboye’s column for the Daily Mail newspaper, she said: “[My longevity is because] I haven’t been doing it to be famous. [Reality shows] sell a lifestyle that, frankly, doesn’t exist.”
One-time ‘Doctor Who’ star Bonnie will be playing grande dame Evangeline Harcourt in the Cole Porter musical – which opens at the Bristol Hippodrome in April and ends in Manchester in June before reopening at the Barbican Centre in London for a ten-week stint – and joked that she wanted her maltipoo dog Poppy to take on the role of her character’s pampered pooch, even though the dog used in the show is mechanical.
She said: “I thought: ‘Oh! This could be a part for Poppy!”
