J.K. Simmons hints at different Commissioner Gordon in Batgirl

OHMYGOSSIP — J.K. Simmons has suggested that fans will see a different side to Commissioner James Gordon in ‘Batgirl’.
The 67-year-old actor reprises his role as the Gotham City police chief in the upcoming DC Extended Universe (DCEU) movie and indicated that there will be plenty of “domestic” scenes with his on-screen daughter Barbara Gordon/Batgirl – who is played by Leslie Grace.
Simmons told Collider: “‘Batgirl’ was a treat, for a number of reasons. My little bit in ‘Justice League’ was, at the time, meant to be, ‘Look, we’re gonna introduce this guy and we’re gonna see more of him in the future.’ I didn’t have a whole lot to do.
“In ‘Batgirl’, because of the relationship between Commissioner Gordon and his daughter, it’s much more of a domestic aspect of Jim Gordon. We do get to see some fun, out in the street… Well, I’m gonna stop now because I really don’t wanna do any spoilers.
“But it was fun to the stuff with Leslie Grace, who plays Batgirl, and get to portray a different aspect of Jim Gordon, other than as Commissioner Gordon.”
Simmons also returned as J. Jonah Jameson in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and was shocked to come back after appearing in Sam Raimi’s trilogy.
The ‘Being the Ricardos’ star said: “The Sam Raimi movies were just a gift from on high for me, well, not from on high, from Sam Raimi, and he’s not that tall. Those were a great experience, even if they hadn’t become these iconic films.
“And then, when the next iteration of ‘Spider-Man’ came around, there was no JJJ. And then, the next iteration came around. Who knew? I certainly didn’t expect it.”

Tom Cruise was daunted by Top Gun: Maverick

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Cruise found it a “daunting task” making ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.
The 59-year-old star reprises his role as Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell in the highly-anticipated sequel to ‘Top Gun’ but Tom was uncertain about revisiting the movie that made him a superstar.
In an interview with Sky for the ‘Tom Cruise: Movie Maverick’ programme, Tom said: “Taking on the sequel to ‘Top Gun’ was a daunting task.
“Fans all over the world – more than any other film for decades have been saying please do another one, and I was like – I don’t know how to do that.
“And I would go home and think about how to approach it, so to hear about how audiences feel about it. I’m telling you I just feel, I’m so excited for them, I’m so happy about it, I’m relieved for them you know.”
‘Top Gun: Maverick’ hits cinemas more than three decades after the 1986 original but Cruise says there are strong links between both projects.
The ‘Mission: Impossible’ star explained: “The foundation of the story that we have in this film originated back in 1986. So the dynamic of that relationship we talked about back then was there originally.”
Meanwhile, Tom confirmed that releasing the movie on a streaming service was never an option despite the various delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (18.05.22), Tom said: “That was not going to happen ever. I make movies for the big screen.”
He added: “I’ve spent a lot of time with theatre owners. The people that serve the popcorn, the ones who make this (happen).
“Please, I know what you’re going through. Just know we are making ‘Mission: Impossible’ and ‘Top Gun’ is coming out.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Anton DuBeke is returning to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ as a judge.
The 55-year-old star – who initially served as a professional dancer on the BBC ballroom competition for over a decade – joined Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Head Judge Shirley Ballas on the judging panel in place of Bruno Tonioli for the 2021 series due to travel complications because of COVID and will now take up residency on the panel as the four famous faces return to the show later this year.
In a statement, Anton said: “Woohooo! This is BRILLIANT news. Everyone knows how much I absolutely love the show and I’m utterly delighted to be continuing as a regular judge. And I get to make the final again – now I know how Giovanni feels!”
Meanwhile, fellow judge Motsi Mabuse – who replaced ballet icon Darcey Bussell as a judge back in 2019 – explained that she is “so looking forward” to her fourth series on the show after describing the 2021 edition as a career “highlight.”
She said: “Last year’s series of Strictly was one of the highlights of my career, it has had such a real impact which has been incredible to witness. I am so proud to be a part of this show and I am so looking forward to returning for my fourth series!”
Head judge Shirley Ballas “can’t wait to be back at the studio waving my paddle”, while Craig Revel Horwood gushed that it is “fabulous” to be returning for his milestone 20th series.
The upcoming series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – which is yet to reveal its celebrity lineup – will air on BBC One later this year and hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will return as hosts.
The official line up confirmation comes just days after it was reported that Bruno had quit the show “for good” and will now be focussing on his role as a judge on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in the USA.
A source told The Daily Mail newspaper’s Richard Eden column: “Bruno has quit the show for good. He’s going to be a judge only on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ from now on.”

Margot Robbie set to star in and produce new Ocean’s Eleven film

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie looks set to star in and produce a new ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ movie.
The 31-year-old actress will be directed by Jay Roach – who worked with the star in 2019 film ‘Bombshell’, which earned her a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nod – in the heist motion picture.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robbie will produce the forthcoming film alongside Tom Ackerley, her producing partner at LuckyChap.
Carrie Solomon has penned the script for the movie, and while details are being kept largely under wraps, the movie expected to be set in Europe in the 1960s.
Gary Ross, Olivia Milch and LuckyChap’s Josey McNamara are set to executive produce.
However, insiders added to the publication that the motion picture is yet to be greenlit, but it’s hoped production will get underway in spring 2023.
The ‘Ocean’s’ film franchise has spawned three movies, 2001’s ‘Ocean’s Eleven’, ‘Ocean’s Twelve’ in 2004, and 2007’s ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’.
The movie series was inspired by the 1960 film ‘Ocean’s 11’, which starred Rat Pack members Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop.
Steven Soderbergh directed the 2001 motion picture, which starred George Clooney as thief Danny Ocean, who, following his release from prison, sets about planning a three-casino heist in Las Vegas to win back his wife, Tess (Julia Roberts).
Matt Damon, Andy García, Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, and Don Cheadle also appeared in the movie.
An all-female spin-off, ‘Ocean’s Eight’, was released in 2018, starring Rihanna, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, and Sandra Bullock, who played professional thief Debbie Ocean, Danny’s sister.
Robbie is currently filming ‘Barbie’, in which she will star as the titular Mattel doll, and Ryan Gosling will play Barbie’s boyfriend Ken.

Maya Hawke to appear with mom Uma Thurman in The Kill Room

OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Hawke has joined the cast of ‘The Kill Room’.
The ‘Stranger Things’ actress will work alongside her mother, Uma Thurman, as well as Samuel L. Jackson, Joe Manganiello, Debi Mazar and Larry Pine in the upcoming dark comedy thriller, though details of her role haven’t been revealed.
‘The Kill Room’ – which is being directed by Nicol Paone from a script by Jonathan Jacobson – charts the story of a hitman (Manganiello), his boss (Jackson) and an art dealer (Thurman) whose money-laundering scheme inadvertently turns the hitman into an avant-garde sensation. Thurman’s character is forced to play the art world against the underworld.
The project marks another collaboration between ‘Pulp Fiction’ co-stars Jackson and Thurman after they recently appeared onstage at the Academy Awards as part of a reunion for Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 movie.
It is the first time Maya, 23, has worked with her mother, though director Quentin Tarantino previously admitted he’d love the pair to work together on a third ‘Kill Bill’ movie.
He said last year: “I think it’s just revisiting the characters twenty years later and just imagining the Bride and her daughter, Bebe, having 20 years of peace.
“And then that peace is shattered.”
“And now the Bride and Bebe are on the run and just the idea of being able to cast Uma and cast her daughter Maya in the thing would be f****** exciting.”
The ‘Little Women’ actress previously starred with her father Ethan Hawke in 2020 miniseries ‘The Good Lord Bird’ and they have been cast together in upcoming comedy ‘Revolver’.
Maya previously said she and her dad are “always working together in one way or another.
She added: “Whether it’s me calling him being like, ‘How do I do this? I need help.’ Or him helping me with audition tapes. There’s a real network of communication there. I really see him as my teacher more than almost anything else.”

Dannii Minogue to host gay dating show

OHMYGOSSIP — Dannii Minogue will host a new gay dating show on BBC Three.
The former ‘X Factor’ judge is “thrilled” to be fronting ‘I Kissed a Boy’, a programme which will follow 10 single men in Europe as they search for their Mr. Right.
While they will be paired with their strongest match and kiss when they meet, “everyone is a possible love interest” and things can change over the course of the eight-part series.
Dannii said: “There are millions of people in the UK looking for love. And I believe love is for everyone. So I am so thrilled for a gay dating show to be entering the sea of other dating shows that have existed on TV for years.
“I have been a staunch ally of the LGBTQ+ community for as long as I can remember. My close friends know that my dream job title would be ‘Cupid’ – so this gives me that flutter-of-love feeling inside too, just to be a part of it. Let’s hope there is love, sealed with a kiss!”
The ‘This Is It’ hitmaker also shared a casting call on Twitter and wrote: “Having the opportunity to be a part of this show is giving me that flutter-of-love feeling.
I’m so thrilled that a gay dating show is joining the TV love-search mix. Let’s hope we see some beautiful love stories on our screens, sealed with a kiss! Happy assistant to Cupid.”
BBC Three bosses think the programme has “huge potential”.
The channel’s controller, Fiona Campbell, said in a statement: “I Kissed a Boy is a brilliant new show in the dating space that we think has huge potential for BBC Three.
“We hope our audience will love the heady mix of drama and heart-warming romance that we know the series will bring.”

Deborah James to make final TV appearance on Embarrassing Bodies

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Deborah James will make her final TV appearance on ‘Embarrassing Bodies’ – and she’s given her “blessing” for the episode to air even if she has passed away.
The 40-year-old podcaster and blogger moved to end-of-life care earlier this month after battling bowel cancer since 2016, and she hopes people will continue to check their poo after she has departed.
She said: “I might not live to see the episode air but I hope the message to ‘Check your poo’ will live on, long after I’m gone.
“It might be embarrassing but it might just save your life. Early diagnosis of things like bowel cancer saves lives.
“So don’t live to regret it, and don’t risk dying because you’re shy.
“I’ve given my blessing for this episode to run if I’m gone, if it helps save one life it will be worth it.”
Deborah’s episode is expected to air in June when the show returns after seven years.
The programme’s new series will also see former ‘Geordie Shore’ star Vicky Pattison and singer Lisa Maffia raising awareness of health issues.
Deborah’s Bowelbabe Fund has raised more than £6.4 million for Cancer Research UK in less than two weeks after she announced on May 9th that she was stopping treatment.
Deborah – who was instrumental in helping to launch the No Butts campaign, which raises awareness of bowel cancer, on ‘Lorraine’ – recently revealed she had moved into her parents’ house in Woking for the sake of her children Hugo, 14, and Eloise, 12.
She said: “It’s kind of where I’ve always wanted to die, weirdly. I’ve always had that in mind.
“I think I always knew I didn’t want to be at my London home. It doesn’t feel right to me.”
Deborah was presented with a Damehood by Prince William last week.

Anne Robinson explains all about turning Countdown co-host Rachel Riley’s mic off

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Robinson insists Rachel Riley’s microphone was off at times during ‘Countdown’ because the outgoing presenter needed “some quiet”.
The 77-year-old star recently announced she is stepping down from the Channel 4 game show, but Anne has insisted there is no feud between her and co-host Rachel, or lexicographer Susie Dent.
When asked if she thinks Countdown’s on-screen talent hadn’t got on behind the scenes, Anne told ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’: “No, I think Susie Dent is great.
“Rachel Riley is completely brilliant at the maths … I didn’t not get on, but some performers like a lot of noise around them before they go on air and others like me who are trying to get the contestants to remember what their hobbies are would like some quiet while she’s doing that … it was important to me we took her mic off.”
Earlier this month, Anne branded rumours of a feud between her and Rachel “nonsense”.
She said: “The way that it’s filmed is so tight that … we don’t have time to talk to each other.
“Between shows we have a ten-minute turn around to get changed. We can go for almost a whole run without doing more than waving to each other from the end of a corridor.
“I’m not saying I would go on holiday with Rachel Riley, but she is brilliant
“Absolutely honestly, I do admire her – she is really, really good at what she does, as is Susie Dent.
“Look, Rachel has just come back from having a baby and she is standing throughout and faultless, whereas I get to sit down.
“She is noisy, yes she and Susie both are – they are a formidable pair those two.”
Anne – who took over her ‘Countdown’ role from Nick Hewer in 2021 – recently admitted she is leaving the show to spend more time with her family.
She said in a statement: “I’ve had a blast hosting this wonderful show. And I stayed longer than I signed up for. Now it is time for an older woman to take the reins.
“I hope too I’ve encouraged TV bosses to realise that not all women at the wrong end of their seventies are in care homes playing bingo and watching conjuring tricks.
“In fact the genius of Countdown is that it’s a brilliant way to keep the brain exercised. I run 5k most days of the week.
“And I can now do an anagram at twice the speed I could this time last year.
“But I have grandchildren, a large garden and a home in New York, all deserving more of my attention.”

Jason Momoa cast in Shots! Shots! Shots!

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Momoa is to star in the action-comedy ‘Shots! Shots! Shots!’.
The 42-year-old actor has boarded the Universal movie that has been written by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows.
The story details are yet to be disclosed but the movie has been described as a family adventure that has elements of James Cameron’s film ‘True Lies’, the ‘Taken’ franchise and the recent movie ‘The Lost City’.
Jason is producing the flick with collaborator Jeff Fierson along with Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich for Rideback – the company behind the live-action adaptation of ‘Aladdin’ and ‘The Two Popes’.
Mider and Burrows will executive produce with Rideback’s Ryan Halprin with Matt Reilly and Jacqueline Garell overseeing the project for Universal.
Jason will reprise his role as Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the upcoming superhero sequel ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ and has revealed that he worked closely with director James Wan and writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick on the story.
The ‘Dune’ actor said: “‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ is amazing. I got to see a little bit of it. Not that much of it. It’s amazing. The action and special effects are amazing. It’s funny. It’s heartfelt.
“I had a big hand in the script with James – it’s pretty much all me and I love it. I’m extremely proud of it. Unfortunately, you have to wait until 2023, but you know it’ll be the best movie of the year.”
Momoa has revealed how filming the sequel had been a lot more physically demanding than the original.
He said: “I’m getting old.
“I messed up my eyes. I just got something in it that kind of cut it up, and then I’ve got to get surgery, I have a hernia, I’ve got ribs out. I’m just – getting beat up.
“I just kind of give it. I love my job and I get a little too excited, then the age thing, you know, I’m an ageing superhero right now.”

Julia Goulding wants Vicky McClure as on-screen sister in Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Goulding wants Vicky McClure to play her on-screen sister in ‘Coronation Street’.
The 37-year-old actress, who has played Shona Platt in the ITV soap since 2016, thinks it would be a great fit if the ‘Line of Duty’ actress – who plays DI Kate Fleming in the BBC drama – made a cameo on the cobbles as her sibling, but joked her character might be in trouble if that was the case.
She said: “She’s be my sister, I mean come on! She’s brilliant in ‘Line of Duty’ – we need to get on the phone to her. Although she always plays a detective, and that wouldn’t be good for Shona.
“There’s always something to be dug up, especially around the Platt family.”
Shona became the wife of David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) after his first wife Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) was murdered.
Despite this, Julia would love to see Kylie return to Weatherfield.
When asked which character she would like to see back on the cobbles, she said: “My first thought is Kylie Platt – I think that would make incredibly good drama! Could you imagine that? Shona would be out on her ear!
“It would be very interesting to see what would happen. Paula Lane is amazing and I’d love to work with her. Or I’d go old school and bring back Elsie Tanner [Pat Phoenix], or Raquel [Watts, played by Sarah Lancashire], or Phyllis [Pearce, portrayed by Jill Summers].”
Last year, the show celebrated its 60th anniversary and to mark the occasion Queen Elizabeth visited the soap’s set.
Speaking about royal the experience, Julia added to Inside Soap magazine: “I’m not a massive royalist, but it was incredibly special.
“The queen has the most porcelain skin and a twinkle in her eyes. It was surreal, and I got quite emotional after meeting her. She’s the Queen of England and has held that role for 70 years – it was really special.”

Denise Van Outen’s ex-fiance ‘to be replaced by Duncan James on Celebrity Gogglebox’

OHMYGOSSIP — Denise Van Outen’s former fiance Eddie Boxshall is set replaced by Duncan James on ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’.
The Blue singer will sit on the sofa next to the former ‘Big Breakfast’ host on the star-studded edition of the Channel 4 show, following the end of the 47-year-old actress’ seven-year relationship with Eddie.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Denise and Duncan have been pals since they both shot to fame in the late Nineties and he has been helping her through her painful break-up this year.
“As bezzies who share a similarly outrageous sense of humour, they have the perfect chemistry to deliver some laughs as they survey TV shows.
“Just a few months ago they were performing together at [London night spot] Proud Cabaret. She was wearing a mini dress while he donned a leather corset and fishnet stockings, though they’ll probably be wearing something a little more comfortable when they share the ‘Gogglebox’ sofa.”
In March, the ‘Run for Your Wife’ star broke her silence about why she ended things with her 48-year-old ex, and explained how “proud” she was of herself for ditching Eddie in January.
Denise – who has 12-year-old daughter Betsy with her ex Lee Mead – said: “The one thing I’m really proud of myself for is I do know when to walk away and I don’t like to be taken advantage of.
“I’ve always tried to maintain that in anything that I do in life, generally. More so now as a mother because I feel like I’m a role model and I’ve got to set an example.
“The bad times are always followed by good times and that’s what I always look forward to.
“I think you just ride the wave of the bad times knowing that eventually you will get to a good place.”

Scott Eastwood returning to Fast and Furious series

OHMYGOSSIP — Scott Eastwood is returning to the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise.
The 36-year-old actor – the son of Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood – will reprise his role as Little Nobody in ‘Fast X’, the latest installment of the high-speed franchise that is currently filming in London.
Scott joins a cast that includes franchise veterans Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson. Other stars featuring in the movie include Charlize Theron, Jason Momoa and Brie Larson.
Eastwood previously appeared in the 2017 film ‘The Fate of the Furious’. His character was a rule-abiding government agent who is frequently seen with his boss Mr. Nobody (played by Kurt Russell). It is not yet known if Russell will be returning for the new movie.
Louis Leterrier is directing ‘Fast X’ after replacing Justin Lin just days after the start of filming. Lin has written the script with Dan Mazeau.
Diesel is producing the flick – which is set for release in May 2023 – with Neal Moritz, Lin, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Samantha Vincent.
Justin insisted that he departed ‘Fast X’ on good terms and confirmed that he would still be involved in the film as a producer.
The 50-year-old director said: “With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of ‘FAST X’, while remaining with the project as a producer.
“Over 10 years and five films, we have been able to shoot the best actors, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases.
“On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history.
“I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the ‘FAST’ family (sic)”

Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell ‘very similar’ to Kevin Webster

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ star Michael Le Vell says he and his character Kevin Webster are “very similar”.
The 57-year-old soap star admits some of his personality comes through in the role, which he has played since he was a teenager in 1983.
Michael said: “I think we’re both very similar. You can’t play a character for 40 years and some of your personality not come through.
“It’s not like you’re playing a different character every week.
“I’ve been Kevin Webster for nearly as long as I’ve been Michael Le Vell, because I started playing him so young. I was 18.”
Michael was originally cast for a short ‘Corrie’ stint – as paperboy Neil Grimshaw – and left to do a panto before casting director Judi Hayfield called him, wondering if he wanted to “come back”.
He said: “I had an audition and I got the job, which was for 12 episodes.
“So then I finished those 12 episodes, went off, did panto, then got a call saying ‘do you want to come back?’. And that was nearly 40 years ago now.”
Michael – who has participated in storylines ranging from affairs with Denise Welch’s character Natalie Horrocks and a divorce from Sally Dynevor’s alter-ego Sally Webster – admitted he would love to celebrate a milestone such as his 90th birthday while still working on the cobbles.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “You know what, it’s a nice thought.
“As long as you can keep remembering your lines and remembering where you work and getting there every day. That’s the thing with our job. You don’t have to retire when you’re 65 because they still want older characters.
“You don’t retire from acting, acting retires you. If your face doesn’t fit anymore, it doesn’t fit. It’s as simple as that. If my face still fits in 33 years’ time, I’ll be happy to be here still.”

The Grand Tour will air on Amazon ‘as long as there is demand’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Grand Tour’ will air on Amazon Prime Video for “as long as there is demand”.
The motoring TV series – which is fronted by former ‘Top Gear’ trio Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May – last aired in November, and Amazon bosses have vowed to keep making new series of the programme because viewers “love it”.
Amazon Studio boss Georgia Brown said: “The second thing that hasn’t changed at all since [we launched] in 2018, is we’re still sending three old blokes around the world playing with cars and our customers just love it.
“So we will keep doing it, as long as there is a demand for it!”
The show follows a similar format to Top Gear’s feature-length specials, as the trio travel to various locations across the globe taking part in motoring challenges.
Last year, James described ‘The Grand Tour’ as “like a sitcom with characters in”.
He said: “Our relationship is so old now and so established that we are a little bit like a sitcom with characters in.
“The viewers choose one to identify with or maybe two against the other. It is quite a simple childish mechanism that makes things work.”
James also admitted he, Jeremy and Richard aren’t “scared of cancel culture”, and insisted they are they are “reasonably progressive”.
He explained: “I don’t think we run scared of cancel culture but I suppose unconsciously just like everybody else we are re-assessing the way we think about things, which is no bad things in my view.
“We are not entrenched and haven’t dug ourselves in and said, ‘No we are living in the 1970s with 1970s attitudes. Make us a cup of tea, love.’
“We are quite modern people – except for Richard Hammond, who is stuck in 1955 in this E-type Jag. We are reasonably progressive.”

Alan Carr and Amanda Holden to front Alan and Amanda: The Italian Job

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr and Amanda Holden are to front new BBC One show ‘Alan and Amanda: The Italian Job’.
The ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ judge and the Heart Breakfast presenter are teaming up for “a summer of drilling, demolition and hopefully la dolce vita” as they work together to revamp a house in Sicily – which was included in the One Euro scheme, an effort to increase development in the area – into an upmarket holiday home to flip at the end of the summer and donate the proceeds to charity.
The 45-year-old comedian said: “After presenting two series of ‘Interior Design Masters’ I feel now it’s time for me to pop my hard hat on, slip on my steel toe-capped boots and really get my hands dirty. Working in beautiful Sicily with one of my dearest friends is like I’ve won the jackpot. Expect a summer of drilling, demolition and hopefully la dolce vita!”
Amanda says BBC One is the “perfect home” for their particular brand of “magic”.
The 51-year-old actress said: “Alan and I came up with the idea for this show together and approached the BBC as we knew it was the perfect home.
“We are both very passionate about interior design and we’ll be very hands on, injecting some much needed life into an area of Sicily that’s in need of some Holden Carr magic. Although we’re on the same page most of the time, I’m more practical and organised than Alan. However he’s up for some shameless bargaining so that will help us keep on budget!
“We’ve already started filming and one thing’s for sure, we’re not shy of a power tool!”
The broadcaster – who is working with production company Voltage TV – is “delighted” to be working with the duo.
Catherine Catton, the Head of Commissioning, Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment, said: “I’m delighted Alan and Amanda are embarking on this adventure with us. I hope this series will bring much needed joy and inspire our viewers as they follow our couple of friends in their mission to learn new skills and breathe new life into a derelict building.”
Executive producer Claire Walls added: “Many of us dream of taking on a wreck and turning it into a palace, and what better way to do it than tap into these exciting one-euro properties. It’s a genuine passion project for Alan and Amanda but it will be hard work for them to pull it off by the end of the summer in Sicily.”
