Davide Sanclimenti brands Ekin-Su Culculoglu ‘a liar’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’s Davide Sanclimenti has branded Ekin-Su Culculoglu a “liar and an actress” after discovering she’d shared secret kisses with Jay Younger.
The businessman has been coupled up with the 27-year-old beauty but she has had her head turned by the 28-year-old investment banker and in a preview for Friday’s (17.06.22) episode of the show, he was seen confronting her about her closeness to Jay.
In the teaser, Davide told Ekin-Su to “f*** off” and seethed: “You’re a liar and an actress”.
During Thursday’s (16.06.22) episode, Ekin-Su and Jay were seen sneaking off to the terrace on two separate occasions for a heart-to-heart and secret kiss, even crawling on the floor to avoid detection.
Downstairs, Davide, 27, questioned where Ekin-Su was and quickly learned of her whereabouts, and who she was with, prompting them to head back downstairs after another smooch.
Before a confrontation with Davide, the actress confided in Gemma Owen and Paige Thorne.
She said: “Girls you deserve to know this right now, I am going to say it. So for the past two days, two nights, I’ve been meeting up with Jay on the terrace and getting quite close with him…”
Davide then confronted Ekin-Su about where she had been and if she was with Jay, and she fumed: “Why do people care about where I am’.
“Oh so you care about me now? You want to know where I am?”
After Ekin-Su complained Davide doesn’t show her enough affection, he insisted he had no intention of giving Ekin-Su “fake love” after two days and suggested she should look elsewhere.
He said: “When I have opened myself in the past few days, I see you speaking to other guys so this is stopping me. I’m not showing the sensitive side.”
The conversation was cut short when Ekin-Su stormed off and insisted she didn’t want to speak any more, before branding him “a p****”.
‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Alan Carr tells Strictly bosses to give him a call over show appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr has issued a come-and-get-me plea to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ bosses.
The 46-year-old comedian has urged producers to give him a ring about taking part in the Latin and ballroom show, after showing off some moves to former ‘Strictly’ pro Flavia Cacace and her husband Jimi Mistry.
After showing off his dancing talents to the couple – who met on the BBC show – on a new episode of his ‘Epic Game Show’, which airs on Saturday night (18.06.22), Flavia tells Alan: “That was really very good.”
Jimi adds: “You are very good.”
According to the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV Column, Alan then says: “‘Strictly’ producers – call me.
“You might have a new Ann Widdecombe on your hands.”
Alan previously admitted he was worried he would be compared to politician Ann – who took part in the show in 2010 – if he went on ‘Strictly’.
Speaking to comedian David Walliams – who suggested they could pair up on the dancefloor – last year, he said: “I need to lose weight – one of us has to be a dancer.
“I went to Buenos Aires and said, ‘When I go home, I am going to learn how to tango.’
“I wanted to be sexy but I know I’ll be the Ann Widdecombe – the one dragged around the floor dressed as a matador.”
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge David jokingly insisted he is a dancer, but Alan quipped: “Oh please. The ‘Birdie Song’ doesn’t count.”
David paid tribute to Strictly’s 2020 winner Bill Bailey, who took home the Glitterball Trophy with Oti Mabuse.
He added: “Bill set the bar high. Whenever I dance, people laugh – even when I am not trying to make people laugh.
“I have to pretend it’s a joke.”

Tom Hardy gives exciting Venom 3 update!

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hardy has given an update on ‘Venom 3’ and confirmed it has a script.
The 44-year-old actor is set to reprise his role as Eddie Brock/Venom in the blockbuster Marvel superhero film series, and he’s shown fans a copy of the script, which shows that he will once again be assisting screenwriter Kelly Marcel with the story.
On his Instagram Story, Hardy teased that the third film will be the Symbiote’s “last dance”, suggesting it could be his last outing.
Little else is known about the plot.
Late last year, the ‘Inception’ star hinted at a follow-up to 2021’s sequel ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’.
He said: “These things [usually] come in threes. If there’s going to be a new one – and they depend heavily on the success of each individual one, so you can’t count on them ever happening again – every one has got to be as if it was the last one.
“But I think it’s really important, if you go into something, thinking that one, two and three are the same … the same story, the same film. So that you don’t surprise yourself by being caught out by suddenly having to do a third from nowhere.”
Eddie last made an appearance, albeit brief, in 2021’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ in a Venom-Spidey crossover.
‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ scribes Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna recently commented on Venom’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the cameo, which saw Eddie zapped back to his own world with a dreg of the symbiote left in his wake.
The former said: “It leaves the door open for possibilities.
“As opposed to just seeing him go back and not seeing any symbiote. So it just allows for some exciting possibilities in the future.”
And when quizzed on the possibility of a showdown between Venom and Spider-Man, McKenna said: “I have no idea. That is above our pay grade. We are part of a bigger, larger universe that we are not the gods of, we’re just mortals in.
“I think it was a fun idea that the sixth [member of] the Sinister Six gets stuck in a bar and doesn’t get out of there, but maybe he leaves a little something behind. Again, we’re not masters of that course of that next adventure.”

Clare Balding and Alice Arnold held wedding reception at Wagamama

OHMYGOSSIP — Clare Balding and Alice Arnold celebrated their marriage by holding a “low-key” wedding reception at a branch of Wagamama.
The couple tied the knot in April 2015 but Alice has revealed they didn’t have a glitzy ceremony or an extravagant party because the wedding felt like just a formality as they’d been in a civil partnership together since 2016.
During an episode of ‘Alan Carr’s Epic Game Show’, which airs on Saturday night (18.06.22), the host said to the couple: ” You’ve been together for years and you got married in 2015,” and Alice replied: “Did we?”
The broadcaster and journalist then revealed they celebrated the wedding with a budget meal at UK high street chain Wagamama.
Alice told Alan: “Oh we did a civil partnership before that so the wedding was very low-key. The reception was at Wagamamas just the two of us.”
The presenter then exclaimed: “She’s (Clare is) a national treasure, she can’t be seen at Wagamamas!”
Alice replied: “She can.. Nando’s (is her) absolute favourite,” and Alan retorted: “You’d never think Clare Balding would like a Nando’s.”
Alice finished by joking: “If you finish in time you can get to (discount store) Poundland before it shuts.”
Back in 2018, Alice opened up about the couple’s relationship and admitted she was initially worried about dating someone in the public eye.
She told The Times: “To begin with I was especially concerned that Clare was in the media spotlight. I didn’t want to be with someone who needed looking after. I didn’t want the imbalance of being the housewife to her success.”
However, Alice soon realised she had nothing to worry about, adding: “As I got to know her, I realised she is not high maintenance at all. In fact, because we both come from a media background, we are good sounding boards for each other. We are very honest in our guidance of each other.”
‘Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow’ kicks off a brand-new series on Saturday at 7pm on ITV and ITV Hub.

Shaughna Phillips cringes over Love Island’s silent parties ‘with no music’

OHMYGOSSIP — Shaughna Phillips has branded ‘Love Island’s parties “awkward” as they are often filmed without any music.
The former democratic services officer appeared in the winter series of the ITV2 show in South Africa in early 2020 – and she’s revealed she hated shooting party scenes as bosses only played instrumental tracks and often made the contestants dance without any music at all.
In her column for OK!, she explained: “This week, we also saw the Islanders having their first party. I would rather go through Casa Amor all over again than ever have to do a Love Island party scene again.
“The music they play on the TV edit is completely different to what they actually play in the villa. They just play instrumental songs with no lyrics.”
Shaughna added of the parties: “For some of the dance scenes, they don’t play music at all. So all you can hear is everyone’s feet on the floor. It is so awkward.”
The latest season’s first party aired this week and current contestant Paige Thorne was heard saying how much she was looking forward to dancing.
However, Shaugha admitted she felt bad for Paige, saying: “When I heard Paige Thorne saying she couldn’t wait to dance, I was thinking: ‘You poor soul – you have no idea!'”
The stars of the show also don’t get the chance to really let loose as producers strictly control the amount of alcohol on offer.
They are usually allowed one alcohol drink per night with the stars sometimes being treated to two during a long night of filming.
Shaugha explained she didn’t drink much at all during her time in the Cape Town villa as she wasn’t impressed with the selection of beer, wine of Prosecco.
‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Zac Efron to star in The Iron Claw

OHMYGOSSIP — Zac Efron is to star in Netflix movie ‘The Iron Claw’.
The 34-year-old actor will appear in A24’s film from writer-director Sean Durkin about the Von Erichs, a famous dynasty of wrestlers who have had a huge influence on the sport since the 1960s.
According to Deadline, Durkin will write and helm the film, which will be produced by Tessa Ross, Derrin Schlesinger and Harrison Huffman.
It’s not yet been confirmed which character Efron will portray in the movie.
The Von Erich family includes Kevin Von Erich, David Von Erich, Fritz Von Erich, Kerry Von Erich, Mike Von Erich, and Chris Von Erich.
Marshall and Ross Von Erich are still active in wrestling, with both signed to Major League Wrestling.
One of Efron’s latest movies is sci-fi thriller ‘Firestarter’, which was based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King.
But last month, it was revealed nearly missed out on a role in the motion picture because of his past as a teen heart-throb.
Director Keith Thomas admitted the 34-year-old star’s past roles in the likes of ’17 Again’ and ‘Hairspray’ made it hard for him to envisage the actor for the part of telepathic father Andy McGee, but Thomas changed his mind after watching the actor’s turn as serial killer Ted Bundy in 2019 film ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’.
He said: “As for Zac … immediately I thought of the teen idol thing, though I’d seen him in the Ted Bundy film and some other roles.
“But when I first met with him … you know, he’s in his mid-30s, and was very keen to do something different; to do a genre he’d never been in before; and to portray a father.”

Deborah James shares bowel cancer warnings in final TV appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — Deborah James shared the warning signs that led to her bowel cancer diagnosis in her final TV appearance.
The 40-year-old writer and broadcaster is receiving hospice care at her parents home in Woking, Surrey after doctors admitted they could no longer treat her condition – and she made what is likely to be her last appearance on TV in an interview previously filmed for E4’s ‘Embarrassing Bodies’ which aired on Thursday night (17.06.22).
During the show, Deborah explained the symptoms which prompted her to seek medical help: “I started going to the poo – we need to say that – eight times a day. And I used to be a once-a-day kind of girl …
“Then I started getting really tired and I remember drinking loads of cups of coffee just to try and keep myself awake. Then I started losing loads of weight and I started having blood in my poo … ”
She added she had a “gut instinct that something wasn’t right” and she was later diagnosed with bowel cancer.
In a previous interview with The Sun, Deborah feared she might not live long enough so see the episode’s broadcast but hoped her frank discussion of symptoms could help others.
She said: “I might not live to see the episode air but I hope the message to ‘Check your poo’ will live on, long after I’m gone.
“It might be embarrassing but it might just save your life. Early diagnosis of things like bowel cancer saves lives.
“So don’t live to regret it, and don’t risk dying because you’re shy. I’ve given my blessing for this episode to run if I’m gone, if it helps save one life it will be worth it.”
Deborah was diagnosed with the illness in December 2016 and was warned she likely only had five years to live.
She has already exceeded doctors’ expectations as she passed that milestone last year and she has raised more than £6.5 million for her Bowelbabe Fund in the weeks since she went public with news she was receiving end of life care.
Deborah was later made a Dame for her charity work.

Sandra Bullock almost rejected The Lost City

OHMYGOSSIP — Sandra Bullock nearly turned down a role in ‘The Lost City’.
The 57-year-old actress rejected Paramount’s approach to star in the movie at first but later had a change of heart when she persuaded the studio to make her character Loretta Sage more heroic and bold and include feminine traits for Channing Tatum’s leading man.
Sandra told The Hollywood Reporter: “There weren’t any obstacles for the female character. And the male character we’ve seen before.
“I like that I am not 25. And I love that there’s a man in it willing to be many aspects of himself that weren’t traditionally shown in films like this because they had to be the action hero. And Chan was so game. Let’s just do it.”
The movie was released earlier this year and has proved to be a box office success with Sandra delighted to form a producing partnership with Liza Chasin on the film.
The ‘Speed’ actress said: “I just wanted a partner. I was so tired of doing everything myself (I thought), ‘Where are the producers who are listed on the call sheet?'”
The picture was filmed in the Dominican Republic in 2021 and Chasin believes the action and adventure that makes the movie unique has been a key reason for its success.
She said: “When you’re finally able to get back to the movies, what greater gift than to go see the kind of movie you haven’t seen in a long time in a theatre.”
Sandra pushed for the movie to be released in cinemas and believes that the slow burn progress at the box office has justified the decision.
She explained: “Women of a certain age don’t go out on the first weekend. We have other s*** to take care of… like families and careers. That’s why, if you’re lucky, you have a movie that sticks around. This movie made it worth the trip to the movie theatre.”

Andre is producing the flick with Greg Lauritano, Lucas Jarach and Luke Daniels.
Meanwhile, Lucy recalled how she was left “mortified” by the “sexually forward” monologue when she auditioned for the role of Anastasia Steele for the film adaptation of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’.
The 33-year-old actress said: “I was very young. I forget…. it had to have been, not 10 years ago, it was a while ago and I was mortified.
“It wasn’t actual scenes from the movie, but it was a very sexually forward monologue and I didn’t really even know what I was saying in the audition.”
Lucy, who missed out on the part to Dakota Johnson, added: “I was a little naive about it all, but yes, I did audition. I obviously didn’t get the part, but it was good for me because it scared the c*** out of me to do an audition like that.”

Georgia Taylor: Corrie would make changes to Toyah’s sexual assault plot if it aired now

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Taylor doesn’t think ‘Coronation Street’ would do a whodunnit for a sexual assault plot nowadays.
The 42-year-old star’s character Toyah Battersby was beaten and raped by Phil Simmonds (Jack Deam) in 2001 – which, at the time, was the first storyline of its kind in the show’s history – but the actress has now admitted it was “in questionable taste” to initially keep the identity of Toyah’s attacker a secret.
She said: “I felt privileged to be given the story and wanted to prove myself, but by keeping the identity of the rapist a secret they made it a ‘whodunnit’.
“That was in questionable taste and in all honesty I don’t think they would do it now, but it was over 20 years ago and you learn things.
“There was controversy, but people responded positively to the work I did which was encouraging and I won some awards which was lovely.
“Maybe on some level helped me a year or so later to leave and try other things.”
Georgia first appeared in ‘Corrie’ in 1997 as Toyah moved to the cobbles with her no-nonsense Battersby family, Les, Janice and sister Leanne, played by Bruce Jones, Vicky Entwistle, and Jane Danson respectively.
And Georgia claims ‘Corrie’ “wanted” the clan to be “hated” at first.
She added to RadioTimes.com: “‘Corrie’ were fearless and didn’t care if we were hated. They wanted us to be!
“You had Les headbutting a beloved character like Curly Watts practically on day one, Leanne and Toyah terrorising the likes of Mavis Wilton and Percy Sugden, it was no-holds barred!
“They only contracted us for five months to start with, so the four of us didn’t know if we’d last beyond that. We certainly didn’t take being there for granted.”

Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick misses Charlie Hardwick on the soap

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Hardwick is “really missed” on ‘Emmerdale’.
The 61-year-old actress played Val Pollard in the ITV soap from 2004 until 2017 when her character was tragically killed off, but five years on, Charlie’s former co-star Michelle Hardwick – who has played Vanessa Woodfield since 2012 – has told how the ‘Ackley Bridge’ actress is still really popular among her former Dales co-stars.
When asked which character she would like to see back in the soap, Michelle said: “It would be Val Pollard. She was such a great character in the village and Charlie Hardwick played her wonderfully. She is really missed from the show. So if we could magic a character back from the dead, it would be her. Val was a joy to watch, and just imagine the drama she would bring.”
Michelle recently returned to the Dales after she left for maternity leave in summer 2020 to welcome her baby boy Teddy, who is now 20 months, with her wife and ‘Emmerdale’ producer Kate Brooks.
Before going on maternity leave, fans saw Michelle’s character Vanessa depart suddenly from the village amid her harrowing cancer struggle.
The 46-year-old actress has said the bowel cancer plot was her favourite so far because it is “so important” to raise awareness.
She added: “My favourite, for various reasons, is the bowel cancer storyline. It’s so important, and we had to get it right in order to get all the symptoms out there.
“We showed people not to be embarrassed talking about poo and going to the toilet.”
Michelle, who first found fame staring as receptionist Lizzie Hopkirk in ITV drama ‘The Royal’, has also reminisced about her time on the show.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: “I adored ‘The Royal’! That’s where I met my best friend, Amy Robbins, who also played Meena’s defence lawyer. My other best memories were that during filming, we’d take a week to film the exterior scenes in Scarborough.
“We’d have a jolly by the seaside, go out for meals and do karaoke nearly every night!”

Martin Roberts thanks doctors for saving his life

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Roberts has praised doctors for saving his life, admitting he “should’ve been on the scrap heap”.
The 58-year-old TV presenter recently had to undergo a life-saving operation when he had one-and-a-half litres of fluid drained from around his heart after experiencing chest pains, and he has now told how close to death he came.
He said: “I only found out afterwards but when I went into surgery, my heart was giving up, my kidneys and liver were operating at 30 per cent and my lungs were weakening.
“I should have been on the scrap heap, so little inside me was working as it should.
“The sensation of the chest restriction being lifted got better with every syringe of fluid they removed.”
Martin managed to get some reassurance before the op when the surgeon admitted he hadn’t killed anyone before while doing the procedure.
He added to The Sun newspaper: “I remember asking the surgeon if he’d ever killed anyone doing that procedure and he told me he had a clean sheet and didn’t intend to change that with me.
“They saved my life and I’ll never be able to repay them. From the porters and cleaners to the surgeons, each and every one of them deserves this nomination.”
Last month, Martin was visibly emotional as he took to Instagram to share a video of himself on location as he resumed filming on ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ following his life-saving op.
The star – who has fronted the BBC renovation and auction show since the first series in 2003 – said: “So I’ve got some news and it’s actually pretty amazing news.
“Today is a very special day, it’s quite an emotional day to be honest, because I’ve spoken to the doctors and they’ve said as long as I take it easy, which isn’t that easy for me, I’m OK to start work.
“So I am back today filming ‘Homes Under The Hammer’.
“I’m in the valleys of Wales, I never thought I’d be so happy to see a two-up two-down terrace.”
Martin then kissed the bricks of the Welsh house in celebration at his return to the show, and revealed he was wearing a loud shirt to mark his return.
