George Miller has another Mad Max prequel written

OHMYGOSSIP — George Miller has written another ‘Mad Max’ prequel.
The 77-year-old director is returning to helm the movie ‘Furiosa’, which will star Anya Taylor-Joy and serves as an origin story for the character played by Charlize Theron in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, and revealed that he has another prequel idea in mind for Max Rockatansky – who has been portrayed by both Mel Gibson and Tom Hardy in the action franchise.
In an interview with The AV Club, George said: “We also wrote, not a screenplay, but almost in novel form, Nico Lathouris and I, what happened to Max in that year before, and that’s something that we’ll look at further down the track later.”
George explained how he and the crew created backstories for every character in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ so they could be explained in the other films.
He said: “In telling the story of Furiosa, everything in ‘Fury Road’ had to be explained. In my mind, I have a back story of the Doof Warrior, who plays the guitar. How could a blind man play a guitar, how does he get to survive in a wasteland where everybody is in extremis? How did he come to be there?
“So we wrote little stories for every character when we made ‘Fury Road’.”
George revealed that the techniques for developing the story mean that the screenplay for ‘Furiosa’ was complete before ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ was filmed.
The ‘Happy Feet’ director said: “We had the screenplay virtually complete before we shot ‘Fury Road’, and we did it because it arose out of wanting to explain to everybody who Furiosa was – to Charlize when she took on the role, and to all the actors and the designers and everybody else working on the Citadel and so on.
“The feeling was, gee, this is a pretty good screenplay, and then I kept saying to myself, ‘If ‘Fury Road’ works, I’d really like to tell this story.'”

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II likens acting in Aquaman to ‘clown work’

OHMYGOSSIP — Yahya Abdul-Mateen II says acting in films like ‘Aquaman’ is “clown work”.
The 36-year-old actor has appeared in a wide range of movies during his career – varying from ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ to ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ – and likes to challenge himself with different projects.
Speaking to Vulture, Yahya said: “Everything should be about getting to the truth. But sometimes you get to know which movie or genre you’re in.
“Something like ‘Aquaman’, that’s clown work. ‘Aquaman’ is not ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’. You have got to get over yourself.”
The star continued: “In order to survive (as an actor) and to do it well, you have to play the game and then be crafty about when you want to surprise the audience, the director, or yourself with a little bit of ‘Wow, I didn’t expect to see a Chekhovian thing or August Wilson and Aquaman, but I did.'”
Yahya plays the supervillain Black Manta in the ‘Aquaman’ films and revealed that he will have a more prominent role in the sequel ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’, which will be released in cinemas next year.
The ‘Candyman’ actor said: “I think in the next ‘Aquaman’, I really wanted to put more personality into the character for us to sort of get to know him in some private moments.
“I wanted to see (Black Manta) struggle with some things, then to see a bit more of his personality and character. Also, to see what it looks like for him to be in charge of something. So we get to see a little bit more of his leadership style, a little bit more of his personality in this one. And he’s back for more, no doubt, in a big way.”

James May: We will keep making The Grand Tour until one of us dies

OHMYGOSSIP — James May, Jeremy Clarkson, and Richard Hammond plan to keep making ‘The Grand Tour’ until “one of them dies.”
The TV stars – who first found fame as a trio by presenting BBC motor show ‘Top Gear’ from the early 2000s until 2015 – are now four series into the similarly formatted show ‘The Grand Tour’ on Amazon Prime, with 59-year-old James promising fans that the show will continue for as long as they are all alive.
He said: “[Driving around on TV] isn’t particularly arduous. There are bigger problems in the world. There are far bigger problems in the world. I think we’ll probably keep doing it until one of us just dies.”
However, James went on to joke that death may come “quite soon” for his co-star Jeremy,62, but because none of them are doing anything where their age would “count against” their ability, they would be happy to keep going until fans have “had enough” of them.
He told The Mirror: “Which might be quite soon, when you look at the three of us – Jeremy especially, but I don’t think the actual nature of the filming will stop us.I know someone who’s in the 90s still driving around in the car quite happily and that’s what we do, so I think we’ll be able to just keep going until somebody tells us to stop because they’ve had enough of us.”
His thoughts were echoed by co-star Richard, 52, who added that he would “never not want to do it” because he appreciates how “lucky” he has been to get the opporunity.
He added: “I’d never want to not do it. Because that’d be rude to fail to appreciate how bloody lucky I’ve been to get to do all that.”
‘The Grand Tour’ is set to air a special episode titled ‘ A Scandi Flick’ later this month, which will serve as an opening to the show’s fifth series.

The Osbournes returning to TV on BBC

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Osbournes’ is returning to TV on the BBC.
Clare Sillery, Head of Documentaries at the corporation, has confirmed the famous family’s return to the UK from Beverly Hills will be part of a new show.
She said: “Twenty years ago the Osbournes left Britain for a life in LA. Now they are coming ‘home to roost’, back to their family home, pretty much as they left it all those years ago.
“In this new series our audience will be able to follow the family as they settle back into their new life in a Buckinghamshire village. It promises to be a funny, moving and honest insight into their new life back in the UK.”
‘The Osbournes’ reality show, the first of its kind, aired from 2002 to 2005 on MTV and featured the domestic life of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, 73, his wife Sharon Osbourne, 69, and their kids Kelly, 37, and Jack Osbourne, 36, while their daughter Aimee Osbourne, 38, didn’t wish to take part.
Ozzy recently revealed he is returning to Britain because he’s “fed up” with gun violence in the US, after more than 25 years in the country.
The ‘Changes’ hitmaker – who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019 – said: “Everything’s f****** ridiculous there. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings.
“And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert … It’s f****** crazy.
“I don’t want to die in America. I don’t want to be buried in f****** Forest Lawn.
“I’m English. I want to be back. But, saying that, if my wife said we’ve got to go and live in Timbuktu, I’ll go.
“But, no, it’s just time for me to come home.”

Brendan Gleeson joins Joker 2 cast

OHMYGOSSIP — Brendan Gleeson has joined the cast of ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’.
The 67-year-old star will appear alongside the likes of Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in the musical sequel to the 2019 original film.
According to Deadline, it is not yet clear who Gleeson will portray in the motion picture.
It comes after it was recently revealed Zazie Beetz will return for the second movie to reprise her ‘Joker’ role as Sophie Dumond.
Production is set to get underway in December, and the motion picture is expected to be released on October 4, 2024.
The title of the movie – which will be directed by Todd Phillips, who helmed the original psychological thriller – is a French phrase, which translates to refer to a mental disorder that impacts two or more people.
‘Joker’ took home a record breaking $96.2 million at the box office during its opening weekend. In total, it took $1.07 billion internationally, making it highest ever grossing R-Rated movie.
Phoenix – who plays the titular character – and Hildur Guonadottir took home Academy Awards, for Best Actor and Original Music Score respectively.
Overall, the film was nominated for 11 Oscars, including the top prize, Best Picture, and Best Director for Phillips.
In June, it was revealed Gaga was in early talks to star in the ‘Joker’ sequel in the role of Harley Quinn, who was played by Margot Robbie in 2016 and 2021 movies ‘Suicide Squad’ and ‘The Suicide Squad’. The character has an on/off abusive relationship with Joker.
Phillips has been working on the script for the sequel with Scott Silver, who he co-wrote the first movie alongside.

Kevin Dillon signed up to Wire Room so he could work with Bruce Willis

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Dillon signed up to ‘Wire Room’ so he could work with Bruce Willis.
The 57-year-old actor is starring as a federal agent who must defend himself from a hit squad in the action film alongside fellow Hollywood star Bruce, 67, and admitted that although he always thought the script was “really good”, he only jumped at the chance when he learned that the ‘Die Hard’ “legend” was also on board.
He said: “Well, I thought the script was really good. It was another one of those seven-day shoots, which was like, “Oh boy, that’s gonna be a challenge.
But I knew I could do it, because I did ‘Hot Seat’, and that was a seven-day film, which had kind of some similarities. The scripts are entirely different, but like ‘Hot Seat’, I was stuck in the chair, this time I’m stuck in a room, I had a little more freedom.
But I loved the script, and then they told me Bruce Willis is doing it, the legend. So I was like, ‘Yes, sign me up!’
“I’m a big Bruce fan, and to work with him — I did work with him before, but I didn’t have any scenes with him, I was in the movie with him, but this time, I got to work with him. Great guy and a legend.”
The ‘Entourage’ star – who has filmed a number of fight scenes for the movie – also added that while stunts can be “fun”, he had to learn to “slow down” a bit while on set.
He told ScreenRant: “But yeah, it’s fun, and the more you do it, the better you get at it. You actually have to slow it down a little bit, you want to go so fast, but it doesn’t sell as well as like a nice low punch really looks more powerful.
‘Wire Room’ is due for release on September 2 in cinemas as well as on Lionsgate VOD.

Susanna Reid returns to BBC Breakfast to pay tribute to Bill Turnbull

OHMYGOSSIP — Susanna Reid returned to ‘BBC Breakfast’ on Friday (02.09.22) to remember her late co-host Bill Turnbull.
The 51-year-old star – who presented the programme from 2003 to 2014, before moving to ITV – paid tribute to her late pal Bill, who passed away this week aged 66, five years after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Speaking on the show, she said: “He really was the best. He was the funniest, he was the kindest, he was the most supportive and he was the most generous. That’s no disrespect to any of my other former and present TV husbands!
“Bill really was the person who taught me everything.
“I think everybody on the programme working there now would acknowledge he was a mentor, he gave excellent advice, you wanted to meet his high standards and most of all he was just great fun to work with.”
Earlier in the day, ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter Susanna paid an emotional tribute to Bill live on the ITV show.
She said: “He threw himself into [work] and was a stickler for it when he was doing it.
“But for him the most important thing in his life was home, was family, was his wife Sesi and his children, was his dogs, his bees. Everything for Bill was in perspective.
“He very much lived with his cancer, didn’t he? He lived every moment that he could. I think we all feel robbed that there was only five years between the diagnosis and losing him. I especially feel for Sesi, his wife and his children and his family today.”
Bill guest hosted ‘GMB’ alongside Susanna in February 2020, and he returned to the show in May 2021.
Speaking about his guest presenting stints on the programme, Susanna said: “When he crossed channels and became a guest presenter on ‘Good Morning Britain’, it was just like old friends reuniting.”
Former ‘BBC Breakfast’ host Louise Minchin also returned to the show on Friday to remember Bill.
She said: “There’s one thing that’s been really emotional to me in the last 24 hours and just standing here today, there’s a key example.
“Bill was very private about his family and his lovely wife and his children, for which he was so proud. But he took that brave decision to talk about his diagnosis of prostate cancer and it saved lives.
“I’m standing here today with a cameraman called Bernard who went and got checked because of what Bill said. He had an aggressive form of prostate cancer, it was caught, he had an operation and he’s here with me because of Bill.
“I loved working with Bill, and I love what we’ve all said about him. He was just so funny. He had that mischievous, naughty, wicked sense of humour. And sometimes you’d see the glint in his eye and you’d go, ‘Oh, no, I’m gonna go’ and once I’d gone, there was no stopping.”

Pete Davidson heads starry Dumb Money cast

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Davidson, Seth Rogen, Sebastian Stan and Paul Dano will all feature in ‘Dumb Money’.
The film focuses on the January 2021 “short squeeze” movement around the video game retail chain GameStop. The incident saw users of the Reddit page ‘Wall Street Bets’ come together to increase the stock values of the company, which had been suffering from lagging stock prices for several years.
The situation resulted in major hedge funds and independent short sellers suffering significant financial losses and led to calls for more regulation of the stock market.
The movie puts the spotlight on the Reddit users behind the squeeze and is set to begin filming later this month.
Craig Gillespie is directing the film that is based on the book ‘The Antisocial Network’ by Ben Mezrich. Rebecca Angelo and Lauren Schuker Blum have written the script.
Gillespie previously worked with Stan on the movie ‘I, Tonya’ and directed the ‘Fresh’ actor and Rogen in the TV series ‘Pam and Tommy’.
Pete is best known for his work on the comedy sketch show ‘Saturday Night Live’ but was praised for his acting skills by actress Rachel Sennott – who starred alongside him in the film ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’.
She said: “Pete is someone that I went in with the most expectations of because there’s so much about him online or I’ve seen him perform on ‘SNL’.
“I think he is so funny in this movie, but I also thought he really did such a great job dramatically and that impressed me a lot. And I think he really is a serious actor. He was so focused.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Roberts is to executive produce and star in ‘Space Cadet’.
The 31-year-old actress has signed up for the new rom-com from writer-director Liz W. Garcia that will be distributed by Amazon Prime Video.

Greg Silverman and Jon Berg will produce on behalf of Stampede Ventures, who are financing the film.
Berg, who serves as President of Production at Stampede Ventures, said: “Emma’s incredible wit and comedic timing perfectly embodies the role of Rex, and Liz’s rendering of this character makes the female take-over of the STEM field so uniquely relatable and fun, and we hope it inspires young women interested in the field.

Scarlett Moffatt rethinks social posts after she is followed by stranger

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt was followed by a stranger at a train station, leaving her terrified.
The 31-year-old TV star had “naively” alerted her 2.2 million Instagram followers that she was on a train to London, and she was shocked to find a man waiting for her at King’s Cross who wanted to “take her home with him”.
Speaking in a video posted to Instagram after the incident, she said: “I’m gonna do this video and not for attention or anything like that but to make sure others are aware of the danger of letting people know where you are. I stupidly, naively, posted on Instagram saying ‘off to London on the train’. And when I got into King’s Cross station there was a guy there… this guy came at me saying, ‘Scarlett I’ve been waiting for you, are you coming home with me?’. I said ‘No thank you’ but he said ‘Scarlett, Scarlett, are you coming home with me? I’m taking you home with me.’ ”
The former ‘Gogglebox’ star went on to explain that the incident was noticed by two members of LNER staff at the railway station – who she named as Neil and Danny – and thanked them for escorting her safely to her hotel.
She has now urged her followers to be “careful” what they post online.
Scarlett said: “Neil and Danny, I don’t know what I would have done without you. I’ve never even thought of this before, please be careful what you’re posting.”
The star – who has been dating police officer Scott Dobinson since 2019 – then posted a photo of herself and her “little angels” from LNER on social media.
Scarlett waited until she had left the capital so as not to alert anyone to her whereabouts, and once again begged fans to be “careful” with their private information.
She wrote: “Here’s my little angels from yesterday. @lner thanks for all your lovely messages and I hope it’s a reminder to not post locations in real-time and on social media and be really careful with giving private information away online.”

Joey Essex returns Doberman puppy after ear discovery

OHMYGOSSIP — Joey Essex has returned his Doberman puppy after being left “horrified” to discover the canine’s ears appeared to have been cropped.
The 32-year-old TV star had planned to adopt the pooch from a family friend and had “fallen in love” with him, but he didn’t want to give his fans the wrong message by justifying the “cruel procedure”.
He told MailOnline: “I was horrified. I really wanted to give the dog a home, I fell in love with him. But me taking him on as a pet would justify this cruel procedure, which will give the wrong message to my fans and followers. I’m an animal lover.”
The former ‘TOWIE’ star had initially welcomed the Doberman to his family home and alerted his 1.8million followers to the new arrival, but was faced with a backlash when fans noticed the dog had had his outer ears surgically altered.
TV vet Sean McCormack was quick to blast the move as a “kick in the teeth” to campaigners, with animal welfare activist Jordan Shelley reminding the reality star that ear cropping is a “brutal” and “illegal” cosmetic procedure.
Sean said: “What a disappointing development and quite frankly a kick in the teeth to all of us who have been tirelessly campaigning to stop the trend, practice and importation of dogs who have been mutilated for fashion by undergoing ear cropping!”
Jordan added: “Shame you felt the need to get a dog with mutilated ears. Ear cropping is a brutal illegal cosmetic mutilation. What a terrible example to be setting further normalising this abhorrent illegal procedure to all your following.”
Following the outcry, the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star is now encouraging his fans to sign a petition for Kept Animal Bill which will outlaw the procedure altogether.
He said: “I urge everyone to join me and sign this petition.”

Adam Woodyatt would love to do I’m A Celebrity All Stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Woodyatt would sign up for the ‘I’m A Celebrity: All Stars’ show in a “nanosecond”.
The 54-year-old actor finished in sixth place on the 21st series of the regular version of the ITV show last year – when it was based at Wales’ Gwrych Castle, due to COVID-19 travel restrictions preventing the programme from filming in the Australian jungle – and he is keen to head to South Africa for the upcoming spin-off show.
He said: “If my agent phoned me up and said, ‘Oh they’ve been on the phone and they want you for the ‘All Stars’, it would take me a nanosecond to say yes! It was brilliant.”
Adam went on to explain that he enjoyed his time in the castle because there are “no distractions” and joked that he loved most of the day, apart from when hosts Ant and Dec arrived to deliver news.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, he told stand-in host Christine Lampard: “There’s no phone, there’s no email. There’s no distractions! It’s just that little bit at the end of the day when Ant and Dec turn up, but the rest of the day is great! That’s the bit they don’t show you!”
‘I’m A Celebrity: All Stars’ will see a host of former campmates reunite in South Africa’s Kruger National Park to film the series this year, and the show is expected to air next year.
Stars such as Made in Chelsea’s Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo – who was crowned Queen of the Jungle in 2017 – and ex-royal butler Paul Burrell, who was runner up on the series eventually won by comedian Joe Pasquale in 2004, are expected to take part.
Adam – who is best known for playing Ian Beale in BBC soap ‘EastEnders’ from its first episode in 1985 until 2021 – is set to take over the role of Alfred Doolittle in a new touring production of ‘My Fair Lady’ following its summer run at the London Coliseum.
But the star admitted he will “always” be Ian.
He said: “It doesn’t matter what happens from this point onwards. I’m always gonna be Ian Beale. He is part of the country’s DNA, not just mine. I don’t know what’s gonna happen.
“The door’s open but that door is open and a lot of other doors are open. And to be perfectly honest, Ian’s on the Circle Line and he can’t figure out where to get off. I’m happy going back on stage. I’m loving it.”

Mo Farah and Jennifer Saunders among guest managers on new Fantasy Football League series

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Mo Farah, Sir Trevor MacDonald, and Jennifer Saunders will be among the celebrity guest managers in the new ‘Fantasy Football League’ series.
The show is back from September 29th for a 16-episode series with new hosts, Matt Lucas and Elis James, on a new channel, Sky Max, and Sky have confirmed the likes of Succession’s Brian Cox and singer Tom Grennan will also feature in the new-look programme, which is returning after 18 years.
Each week a pair of celebrity guest managers will join Matt and Elis to discuss the week in football and share their fantasy teams from the digital dugout.
TV and radio presenter Roman Kemp, rapper AJ Tracey, ‘Question of Sport’ team captain Sam Quek, TV presenters Gabby Logan and Rachel Riley, and actresses Jaime Winstone and Sally Lindsay will also be celebrity guest gaffers during the series.
In May, Sky confirmed ‘Fantasy Football League’ was returning.
The show was initially created and fronted by David Baddiel and Frank Skinner on BBC Two from 1994 to 2004, and saw celebrities compete against one another as “managers” of their very own fantasy football dream team.
Matt said: “I loved watching ‘Fantasy Football League’ with Frank, David and Statto and am chuffed to bits to be a part of this new incarnation. I now make a living eating cake and watching football.
“I must be the luckiest man in the world. I also get to share the sofa with Elis, who is not only hilarious but the biggest football geek I’ve ever met. See you next season.”
Elis admitted it is a “dream come true” to be co-hosting the programme.
He added: “I couldn’t be more delighted to be bringing back ‘Fantasy Football League’, although Matt’s Arsenal obsession means writing meetings are often derailed by long, wistful chats about Ray Parlour.
“To be presenting a show I used to tape off the telly is a dream come true.
“The ambition is to make a show that’s as loved as the original, and fill it with references to Swansea City without making it unwatchable.”

Till Death Do Us Part lost episodes will air on TV for first time in 50 years

OHMYGOSSIP — That’s TV will air four “lost” episodes of classic sitcom ‘Till Death Do Us Part’ for the first time in 50 years.
The channel, which specialises in classic TV, will be showing reruns of the controversial sitcom as part of its upcoming Alf Garnett season.
Fans of the show may well be excited to see bigot Alf, who was played by actor Warren Mitchell, return to screens this Sunday (04.09.22).
‘Till Death Do Us Part’, as well as its spin-off ‘Sickness and In Health’, ran on the BBC from 1966 until 1992. In addition to exploring challenging themes, it was also one of the first comedies to contain swear word “bloody”.
The channel will be broadcasting 80 episodes of the sitcom in total, including four episodes which were believed to be lost since the 1960s.
Kris Vaiksalu, the Head of Programming at That’s TV, explained: “At a time of great social change, ‘Till Death Us Do Part’ set out to challenge ignorance and prejudice and in doing so became one of the most popular sitcoms in British history.
“Alf Garnett’s antics provided compulsive viewing for four decades and That’s TV is excited to have secured the rights to show every season of the show this autumn.
“Whilst only a small number of the episodes from the 1960s still exist, they represent an extraordinary social commentary of the time. These episodes have a special place in television history and are of wider historic significance, with Alf Garnett rallying against the changing attitudes of the 1960s.”

Richard Hammond: I would be supportive of my daughters going on Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Hammond would be supportive if his daughters entered the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The ‘Top Gear’ presenter admitted he couldn’t imagine appearing on reality TV himself because his life is “pretty boring”, but he would back his kids, Isabella, 21, and Willow, 19 – who he shares with wife Mindy Hammond – if they accepted an offer to take part in the ITV2 dating show.
Richard, 52, said: “‘I don’t think I would want to do reality TV personally. I’m kind of pretty boring and I don’t need to show the world that.
“I can’t stop my daughters doing anything they want to do. They’re 21 and 19 and terrifying and if they want to do something, they will do it. I don’t imagine they would want to [go on ‘Love Island’] to be honest. I think they’ve been asked.”
The ‘Grand Tour’ presenter’s comments come after former footballer Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma Owen, 19, appeared on the latest series of the dating show this summer.
The ex-England striker admitted it was “every father’s worst nightmare” that his daughter was taking part in the programme, but he was being “supportive”.
He said at the time: “I have no doubts that she will make us all proud.
“It’s probably a father’s worst nightmare, but whatever she wants to do you’ve got to be supportive.
“It’s been different without her in the house. I’ve got other kids and my wife and it’s been quite tough because she’s had to switch her phone off and we’ve had no contact for a couple of weeks so that’s
been the hard bit.
“I’ve heard a lot about it. I think old, grumpy men like me will always have an opinion on it because I don’t watch it and you just hear the snippets, but she assures me that it’s not as bad as I think.
“So, we’ll give it a watch and I hope she enjoys herself.”
Gemma went on to finish runner up alongside her boyfriend Luca Bish.

Olivia Wilde: Bad movies prepared me for directing

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Wilde says that making “s***** movies” helped prepare her for directing.
The 38-year-old star has helmed the much-anticipated new movie ‘Don’t Worry Darling’, which features Harry Styles and Florence Pugh in the lead roles, and revealed that her forgettable acting experiences have shaped her approach behind the camera.
In a conversation with Maggie Gyllenhaal for Interview Magazine, Olivia said: “It helps me navigate any feelings about movies that I don’t think are great when I look back on them, and it helps me understand them within the context of my proxy film school experience. I’ve made like 5,000 times more s***** movies than you have.”
She continued: “I’ve been in some really bad ones, and now I think, ‘I did those to learn all the cautionary tales that would help me define myself as a director: how I will never speak to a crew, how I will never speak to actors, how I will never schedule a movie.’ All of that comes from those bad experiences.”
Olivia recalled how working with Mark Duplass on the 2015 horror film ‘The Lazarus Effect’ had a lasting impact on her evolution into directing.
The ‘Booksmart’ filmmaker said: “I remember making this tiny horror movie with Mark Duplass many years ago, and he was so understanding of this really terrible schedule that we had.
“The movie was very challenging for all these seemingly avoidable reasons, so I’d go back to the trailer and want to talk mad s***. And Mark said, ‘Until you direct a movie, you can’t really understand how difficult it is. Go direct, go produce, and then you’ll understand’, and he was right.”
Olivia has a supporting role in ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ and revealed that she only cast herself out of necessity.
She explained: “We basically ran out of money and I needed someone who would take a really low salary, but I wanted it to be someone who understood the role.
“It got to the point where it was down to the wire and our casting director was like, ‘Olivia, why don’t you just do it?'”
