Daniel Craig danced with Queer co-star Drew Starkey to help prepare for sex scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Craig danced with ‘Queer’ co-star Drew Starkey so the pair could forge a connection ahead of their sex scenes in the movie.
The 56-year-old star leads the cast of Luca Guadagnino’s historical romance in which he and Starkey play lovers in 1950s Mexico City and revealed that the pair tried to make their intimate scenes “fun”.
Speaking at a Venice Film Festival press conference, Daniel said: “Dancing with someone is a great icebreaker.
“We all know there’s nothing intimate about filming a sex scene on a movie set – there’s a room full of people watching you – so we just wanted to make it as touching, real and natural as we possibly could.”
The former James Bond star added: “Drew is just a wonderful, fantastic, beautiful actor to work with, and we just kind of had a laugh. You know, we tried to make it fun.”
Drew thanked choreographer Paul Lightfoot for helping him and Craig get their bearings when it came to the lovemaking scenes.
The ‘Outer Banks’ actor said: “We had months of this experimenting with each other. Then we had a couple of weeks of really just exploring.
“Luca also allows that space for that to happen. He invites it and welcomes it. It’s such a singular experience as an actor. I’ve never had an experience like this.”
Starkey also joked: “Dan is definitely not a dancer – but I think we learned and got better together.”
Daniel also expressed his joy at getting to work with Guadagnino and says that ‘Queer’ is exactly the type of film he loves to make.
He said: “I kind of look at this movie and I think if I wasn’t in the movie and I saw this movie, I’d want to be in it, if that makes sense.
“It is the kind of film I want to see, I want to make, I want to be out there. They’re challenging, but hopefully incredibly accessible.”

Jenna Ortega hates the idea of a female James Bond

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Ortega doesn’t want a female to play James Bond.
The ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ actress argues that more franchises should be created with female leads in mind instead of film studios following the trend of reimagining classic movies with women in the starring roles.
In an interview with MTV, Jenna, 21, said: “I love that there’s a lot more female leads nowadays, I think that’s so special, but we should have our own.
“I don’t like it when it’s like a spin-off – I don’t want to see like ‘Jamie Bond’. You know? I want to see another badass.”
The idea of a female 007 has been discussed as Bond chiefs look for a new star to take on the role of the legendary spy but ex-Bond Daniel Craig previously made similar comments to Ortega.
He told the Radio Times: “There should simply be better parts for women and actors of colour. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?”
007 producer Barbara Broccoli also stated how the next Bond will be a man and that she would rather create “characters for women” instead of “having women play men’s roles”.
She told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021: “I think (the next James Bond) will be a man because I don’t think a woman should play James Bond.
“I believe in making characters for women and not just having women play men’s roles. I don’t think there are enough great roles for women, and it’s very important to me that we make movies for women about women.”

Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood makes shock announcement as he admits his ‘dancing days are over’

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood will never dance again.
The 59-year-old star began his career as a teenager and went on to appear in a string of West End musicals before becoming more widely known as a judge on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ but has now admitted that his own “dancing days are over” following a number of operations on his hips and feet.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s from wearing heels all my life. They’re so bad for you, although they look fabulous. You can’t keep dancing forever; it’s strenuous. And I’ve had my toes done, I’ve had my hips replaced, I’ve had everything done, so my dance days are over.”
Craig has also starred in musicals such as ‘Annie’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz’ as well as directed and choreographed productions like ‘Sister Act’ and ‘Strictly Ballroom the Musical’ over the years.
But as he gears up to release his album ‘Revelations, Songs Boys Don’t Sing ‘ in October, has admitted he would be an “idiot to retire” altogether.
He added: “I’d be an idiot to retire. What would I do with myself? I love the show, I’ve become part of the furniture – and the fabric. [And] There’s only so much cooking and gardening you can actually do and I’d get bored. I think I’m just going to keep working until I drop dead.”
However, the TV star is still wary about turning 60 in January because it “sounds very old” to him.
He added: “I have a little bit of trepidation about turning 60, however. I know it’s just a number, but 60 sounds old. It’s only 10 years to 70 then and that does seem like pension time, doesn’t it? But I’ve no plans to slow down.”

Corrie legend left £21k to wife in estate

OHMYGOSSIP — John Savident left £21,000 in his will.
The late ‘Coronation Street’ legend starred as the larger-than-life butcher Fred Elliott – who was known for his catchphrase ‘I Say, I Say’ – on the ITV soap in the 1990s and early 2000s and passed away back in February aged 86
In documents obtained by The Sun, his estate went to his wife Rona, whom he had been married to since 1961, and had two children with.
Without revealing a cause of death, his agents confirmed: “We are sad to announce the death of the actor John Savident who died on Wednesday.
“He was a much-loved husband and father of two and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.”
John made a number of appearances on television and in film throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with roles in classics such as ‘A Clockwork Orange’ as well as ‘Yes Minister’ and even created the role of Monsieur Firmin in the original production of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ in 1986.
But in 1994, he was cast as Fred and quickly became a household name.
One of his famous storylines saw him secretly reveal to fellow Cobbles legend Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) that he was the secret father of Ashley Peacock (Steven Arnold) after years of passing himself off as his uncle, and in 2004, he fell out with friend Mike Baldwin (Johnny Briggs) when it was revealed that he had been having an affair with his wife.
During his time on the show, John’s character was married to Maureen Holdsworth (Sherrie Hewson) but she left him after just a week after the wedding and he later tied the knot with barmaid Eve Sykes (Melanie Kilburn), although it later came out that she had never divorced her first husband.
The Rovers Return landlord looked set to find happiness with Bev Unwin (Susie Blake) in October 2006 but 11 million viewers tuned in to see him killed off in a shock twist, which saw him suffer a stroke in Audrey’s house as he prepared to head to the church.

’90s legend Brandy had no idea what she was getting herself into for her latest movie role

OHMYGOSSIP — Brandy Norwood had no idea what she was “getting herself into” when she signed up to star in ‘The Front Room’.
The 45-year-old singer – who started her music career in the 1990s and famously starred opposite the late Whitney Houston in Disney’s 1997 adaptation of ‘Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella’ – has had a career revival in recent years and as she stars opposite Kathryn Hunter in the new thriller about a young couple forced to take responsibility for an estranged stepmother, has admitted it was an “emotional” journey from the start.
She told ScreenRant: ” I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into when I first read the script. I knew it was a lot, and there was so much to it. It was all over the place emotionally. But I didn’t know until I met Kathryn, and met Sam and Max, and Andrew Burnham, and what it was going to really be about, and being in the scenes and reacting, and really being on your toes as an actress. I didn’t really know until I got there, but I’m so glad I did it!
The ‘Have You Ever?’ songstress also explained that she and her co-star – who is known for her role as Arabella Figg in the ‘Harry Potter’ films – “connected” both on and off set, even though they had to snap into being enemies as soon as the cameras started rolling.
She said: “We did have rehearsal, but there was a bond that we had outside of filming that we just finished talking about just about fifteen minutes ago, about how close we were and about how we were so connected outside of the film. And then, when the cameras started to roll, we had to be enemies. And it was kind of weird to go from bonding and asking her a bunch of questions about her life, and then getting on screen and pouring water on her, you know, or something crazy like that.”
‘The Front Room’ will be released in the US on 6 September and in the UK on October 25.

Strictly’s Shirley Ballas reveals why she is ‘worried’ about the future of dance

OHMYGOSSIP — Shirley Ballas is “worried” about the future of dance.
The 63-year-old star serves as head judge on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and “loves” being able to watch celebrities discover new skills with their professional partners on the BBC competition but has noted that the audience at home won’t be keeping fit like the participants and wants to “change” the way dance is taught in the education system.
She is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: “As ‘Strictly’ Head Judge, one of the things I love most about the show is seeing people discover the joy of dancing.
The trouble is, ‘Strictly’ doesn’t always get viewers off their bottoms and onto the dance floor, to enjoy the fantastic benefits and pleasure that it brings.
I want to change that, and I hope my new role as President of the Imperial Society of Teaching of Dancing will help by getting more people on their feet.
“Dance could be our saviour but right now it is not in a good place, and it makes me want to weep.
“I always tell people how my mum worked her fingers to the bone so that I could have classes and gorgeous costumes, but the one thing we were never short of was inspirational teachers.
“What really worries me is that young dancers in the very near future will not be able to say the same thing. Dance has all but gone from schools and higher education and that will have knock-on effects for the number of teachers in the future.
The dance champion – who will return to the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ panel alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke on September 14 – also believes that “every single child” should have the opportunity to experience dance because it can be of benefit to everyone.
She said: “I also worry about the fantastic ‘backstage’ teams who are disappearing in so many places.
“Every single school should be connected with the best local dance experts so that every single child can experience top quality dance. As the ISTD’s Dance for All report says: “Dance is good for everyone, everywhere, no matter who you are.” If,
together, we are going to take the nation’s health and ambitions for
growth seriously, we need to get Britain on the dancefloor.”

Ellis Hollins is ‘very glad’ that his Hollyoaks character wasn’t killed off

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellis Hollins is “very glad” that his ‘Hollyoaks’ character wasn’t killed off.
The 24-year-old actor has played Tom Cunningham on the Channel 4 soap opera since the age of three and is pleased that he got to bow out of the show alongside his on-screen sister Stephanie Waring when the pair of them fled the village following a dangerous showdown with a gangster,
He told Digital Spy: “It was a bit of a whirlwind, although a lot of my scenes were spaced out in terms of the schedule. It wasn’t that busy towards the end of my filming days, but I knew what was coming so I was still anticipating my last day.
“It was really nice that I could see Tom had come full circle and hopefully deliver on his exit. It was a lot, but I’m finally coming down from that now.
“I hadn’t worked with Steph Waring [who plays Cindy] for quite a while. So if Tom has to leave, it’s nice that he’s doing it with the family that he’s got left.
“I’m very glad that they didn’t kill Tom off. Obviously that leaves the door open for potential adventures for Tom in the future – I can’t say that wouldn’t be great.”
But the actor is hopeful that he will be asked back to the show for next year, when the Chester-based soap opera celebrates its 30th anniversary.
He said: “I think that’d be lovely. I hope that they would invite me and I hope it would be a really massive episode. It needs a big celebration. Hollyoaks is really trying to make the best version of itself and it’s had a large climb over the past few years.
“I would like to think, by the 30th anniversary, we’ll be in a good position to really celebrate. I think bringing back old faces is definitely something they should consider, whether that be mine or not. I think that would be the best way for them to celebrate.”

Celebs Go Dating star Lauryn Goodman: ‘I don’t sleep around despite what others think…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauryn Goodman has insisted that she “doesn’t sleep around” despite what others might think.
The 33-year-old reality star famously had an affair with footballer Kyle Walker when he was married to Annie Kilner and has four-year-old son, Kairo, and daughter, Kinara, 13 months, with him but as she looks for love again on E4’s ‘Celebs Go Dating’ insisted that while there is “nothing wrong” with being promiscuous, that is not the life for her.
She told OK! Magazine: “I think viewers are going to be quite surprised. I think that people think that I just sleep around. Not that there is anything wrong with that – each to their own – but for me, I wasn’t brought up like that. My dad was really strict when I was younger. No boys were allowed upstairs.
“I have had four partners. One was long-term and I lived with him, a couple were well-known names and a couple not so well-known. It comes out in my deep dive with the agents, that was really emotional.”
The former ‘Ex on the Beach’ star admitted that in terms of her relationships, everything has “gone downhill” since her first love as she revealed her “biggest heartache” while wondering what might have been.
She said: “They said that I am in a cycle of fear, I am yet to work out what that means. My first boyfriend is quite well known, he is a nice one, I don’t think if I stayed with him it would have lasted because we are now completely different. That was a healthy relationship, but I wasn’t healthy in that my parents were divorcing… so it didn’t work. His name was Marcus Butler – he was a YouTuber and now models for Gucci. He has got 7M followers, he went into content creating.
“From there, it’s gone downhill. I had another good long-term relationship, but they can get complacent and treat you with a lack of respect. I gave him one chance and he blew it. I’m cut-throat like that, you get a chance – but if you screw up again, that’s that. That was my biggest heartache. That seven-year relationship made me think, ‘I don’t ever want to feel this way again.’ He was my first serious one, as I moved in with him. There was another relationship after that, but it was more rebound. I was in a vulnerable place and we were friends but I progressed with him when maybe I shouldn’t have.”

Tom Ellis reveals how he feels about always being known for his role in Miranda

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Ellis “doesn’t mind” being known for his role in ‘Miranda’.
The 45-year-old actor found fame starring as Gary Preston opposite comedienne Miranda Hart in her eponymous sitcom in the late 2000s and has since moved on to a career in the US but is proud of the “legacy” he has in his home country with the BBC show.
He told Metro newspaper’s SixtySeconds column: “I don’t mind it, actually. We did it such a long time ago. It feels quite a privilege to be part of something that still has a legacy.”
The sitcom – which followed hapless thirtysomething singleton Miranda as she struggled to run a joke shop and lusted after chef Gary – initially ran for three series from 2009 until 2013 and wrapped up with a two-part finale over the festive period of the following year.
Meanwhile, former ‘Lucifer’ star – who has Florence, 16, and Marnie, 12, with former ‘EastEnders’ actress Tamzin Outhwaite as well as Nora, 19, from a previous relationship – welcomed Dolly in November 2023 with wife Meaghan Oppenheimer and admitted that they have just about “managed” to base his career on both sides of the Atlantic.
Tom – who has appeared in ‘Once Upon A Time’ in the US and is due to appear in his wife’s upcoming series ‘Tell Me Lies’ – said: “We’ve managed it. Dolly, our daughter, has spent a lot of time already on set. But we have some help and we’re lucky to be able to afford that. It’s not the first time around for me either. I’ve got experience of being a dad already.
“I’ve really enjoyed having a baby again, as my other kids are a lot older now.
“She hasn’t seen me on TV. With my kids in the past, they’ve always been distinctly unimpressed. They’re at an age now where they cringe when they see me on TV. My kids are the biggest grounding force in my life. If I started to get arrogant or above my station, they would stop me.”

Alison Brie cast in Masters of the Universe as villain Evil-Lyn

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Brie is to play villain Evil-Lyn in the ‘Masters of the Universe’ movie.
The ‘Mad Men’ actress has secured an important role in the live-action flick from Amazon MGM and Mattel Films.
Alison, 41, joins a cast that includes Nicholas Galitzine in the lead role of He-Man and Camila Mendes as Teela, the captain of the royal guard and the possible love interest.
‘Bumblebee’ helmer Travis Knight is directing from a script by Chris Butler although plot details are yet to be revealed.
‘Masters of the Universe’ was introduced to the world via action figures in 1982 and focused on the battle between the heroic He-Man and the evil Skeletor.
The animated series ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ premiered the following year and several other film and TV adaptations have followed since as the franchise is still going strong.
The movie is slated for release in June 2026 after enduring a two-decade journey to the big screen.
It was axed by Netflix last year due to budget concerns while directors John Stevenson, Jon M. Chu and McG have all been attached to the project since 2007.
Julie Rapaport, head of film production and development at Amazon MGM Studios, said in a statement following Galitzine’s casting: “We’re thrilled to bring the beloved ‘Masters of the Universe’ to life and couldn’t be more excited to announce the immensely talented Nicholas Galitzine as our He-Man.
“Joining forces with director Travis Knight, Mattel, and Escape Artists, this reintroduction of the character and his universe will be an epic film that will delight audiences from here to Eternia.”

Will Smith exits Sugar Bandits role

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith has dropped out of the cast of ‘Sugar Bandits’.
The 55-year-old actor has left the project as an actor due to scheduling conflicts but the ‘Independence Day’ star and his Westbrook production company will remain involved in the big-budget action flick.
Westbrook is thought to be looking to re-cast Will’s role and still plans to make ‘Sugar Bandits’ next year.
However, there are now questions about the movie’s outlook as it was sold to leading distributors and Amazon Prime on the understanding that the Oscar-winning actor would be starring in it.
Smith had been due to play a former special forces soldier who is in command of an elite vigilante squad working to wipe out the drug trade in Boston. ‘Sicario: Day of the Soldado’ filmmaker Stefano Sollima is on board as director.
The movie was in pre-production ahead of a planned shoot in Montreal but progress had stalled after doubts grew about Smith’s participation in the film.
Will previously explained how improvements to TV shows had made it harder to get hits at the box office as audiences need to be enticed to pay a visit to the cinema.
The ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ actor told Hot Ones: “The definition of a hit is still pretty much the same. Essentially, it’s just harder to get one.
“You used to be able to put some explosions in the trailer and a couple of good jokes and people were there. And television is so good, there are things that people just aren’t going to leave their house for. There’s definitely a higher demand for a certain type of film for people to leave their homes.”

Molly-Mae Hague worries the ‘stress’ of her split from Tommy Fury has caused her to age

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague is worried that the “stress” of her breakup from Tommy Fury has caused her to age.
The 25-year-old reality star split from her ‘Love Island’ co-star Tommy – with whom she has 20-month-old daughter Bambi – in August after five years together and is concerned about how her appearance has changed since.
Speaking in a video posted to YouTube, she explained: “Another thing I’ve noticed in the last week or so, which I really feel like you can see even now. Out of nowhere, I don’t know if it’s stress-related. I have gotten really dark circles around my eyes so I feel like you can just see here a darkness begin, a shadow, almost a bit of a bruise.
“You can see a darkness just around my eye and I have never, ever suffered with dark eyes before, I’ve never noticed dark circles around my eyes, ever. Even if I’m really tired, I don’t get rings around my eyes.
“Out of nowhere, these brown hollow pits of sadness are appearing around my eyes.Hang on a minute, am I ageing?! Has the stress of the last month caused me to age? If It has, we’re gonna have a problem on our hands!”
Molly and Tommy finished runner-up on the ITV2 dating show in 2019 and were engaged to be married before announcing the shock news that they had gone their separate ways.
Molly announced their split with the statement: “Never in a million years did I think I’d ever have to write this.

“You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it’s right to share this with you all.
“Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time.
“I’ll be back when it feels right. Molly-Mae. x.”

Strictly’s Nikita Kuzmin is ‘just trying to do his best’ to manage his diabetes: ‘It’s not easy…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikita Kuzmin is “just trying to do his best” to manage his diabetes.
The 26-year-old star is best known as a professional on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ but was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes – a chronic condition in which the body struggles to produce enough insulin – as a child and is often aided with a white patch on his arm but finds it so rewarding when he connects with fans who suffer from the same thing.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, he said: “It’s not easy. Obviously, it’s a condition that you carry with yourself every single day. But I always say that diabetes is our superpower. When we’re kids, to understand how to be scheduled, how to be responsible. One of the best things in the world is when I go through the stage door after the show, I see all the teenagers and adults coming with me.
“They show me their sensor and we tap them together. It’s our superpower and I know it might be quite hard. I’m also learning every single day. Realistically, I’m just trying to do my best. Obviously, we have the technology today but it’s the literally trying to make the best of it every single day and just see how it goes.”
Meanwhile, the former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star is gearing up to head out on the road for his ‘Midnight Dancer’ tour across the UK in 2025 and admitted it is “scary” to be going solo and often struggles to understand why he has landed his own show in the first place.
He added: “It’s quite scary if I’m being honest, but it’s very wild because I can never actually gather the fact that I could have my own show because I always ask why would people even come to see me?
“I have so many ideas, so many projects and I just wanna go there and give back to the people who spend their money coming to see me.”

EastEnders star Danny Dyer has ‘found his niche’ as sitcom Mr Bigstuff renewed for second series

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer has “found his niche” as his sitcom has been renewed for another series.
The 47-year-old actor quit his signature role as Mick Cartner in the BBC soap opera ‘EastEnders’ in 2022 after almost a decade on screen before starring in Sky comedy ‘Mr. Bigstuff’ as a prescription-drug-addict who ruins his brother’s life and the programme will reportedly be heading back to screens soon.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: ““Danny seems to have found his niche playing a rough-round-the-edges geezer in an out-and-out comedy show.
“He always said when he quit the BBC One soap that he felt there was one defining role that had so far eluded him.
“Maybe he’s finally found that part on Mr Bigstuff. Sky execs certainly seem very impressed.”
The ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ recently admitted he had made the “right decision” in quitting the soap to seek out pastures new.
Asked if he quit ‘EastEnders’ because he’d read co-star Ryan Sampson’ s script, he told Radio Times magazine: “Ryan was probably whispering in the ear of a witchcraft doll to tell me to leave…
“No, I needed to leave; this cemented that I’d made the right decision.
“People said, ‘Oh he’ll be back, he won’t get more work’. How wrong were they?”
Ryan was determined to find a way to play “brothers” with Danny after seeing his cameo appearance in ‘Plebs’ 11 years ago.
He recalled: “After Danny had a cameo on ‘Plebs’, I got it into my head to write something about us as brothers.
“I thought it was funny: I’m a tiny gay from up north and he’s, well, Danny Dyer. A producer said, ‘It’s great – but you do know Danny’s in EastEnders?’
“I hadn’t considered that soaps film day in, day out, all year. I was crestfallen.
“But that weekend came the headline, ‘Dyer quits EastEnders’. It was God’s plan, talking to me through the Daily Express!”

Saira Choudhry had maths lessons to prepare for her role as a Maths teacher in Waterloo Road

OHMYGOSSIP — Saira Choudhry had maths tuition for her role in ‘Waterloo Road’.
The 42-year-old actress has joined the cast of the school-based BBC One drama as teacher Nisha Chandra and enlisted the help of a friend to understand her scripts because she “scraped” a pass in her GCSE Maths and couldn’t get her head round some of her lines that were based around numbers.
She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “I scraped a C in maths. I’m not the best at maths at all. I have a friend, Sam, and he is a part-time maths tutor.
“So when I first joined ‘Waterloo Road’ and I had these massive monologues, I would be like, ‘Sam, help me, what does this mean?’
“He would send me maths videos and draw all these trian- gles. He’s been really useful.”
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star also used YouTube videos to make sure she was pronouncing complicated terminology correctly and is thrilled with her latest role because she has been a fan for such a long time .
She said: “”I also get on YouTube as well and check that I’m pronouncing it right, because you can always trust the children to tell you you’re pronouncing it wrong. It feels amazing to be part of the ‘Waterloo Road’ family.
“I’ve been a fan of the show for so long. “It’s because it’s set in Manchester, so I’ve always related to the show with the characters. Knowing it is set not far from my house, it feels really good to finally be a part of it.”
Jason Manford will play new headmaster Steve Savage in the upcoming 14th series of the acclaimed drama when it returns on Tuesday 10 September, whilst established cast members include Adam Thomas (Donte Charles); Kym Marsh (Nicky Walters); James Baxter (Joe Casey); Jo Coffey (Wendy Whitwell); Shauna Shim (Valerie Chambers); Neil Fitzmaurice (Neil Guthrie); Rachel Leskovac (Coral Walker), and Katherine Pearce (Amy Spratt) will also be back.
