Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has a different tone, says Rian Johnson

OHMYGOSSIP — Rian Johnson’s ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ became “slightly bigger” in scale than he originally planned.
The 48-year-old director wrote and helmed the original ‘Knives Out’ movie in 2019, and he admits that the follow-up project is distinctly different in terms of tone and scale.
Rian said: “It had a very different narrative gambit to it in that it was trying something different and unique, and tonally, I was going to go where the characters led me.
“Which, given the characters in the movie, ended up to a slightly bigger place.”
The new movie is set in Greece rather than New England, and Janelle Monae – who plays Cassandra Brand – has revealed that she relished her time on set.
The 36-year-old actress – who stars alongside Madelyn Cline, Daniel Craig and Ethan Hawke – told Entertainment Weekly: “We really bonded. During the middle of making a murder mystery film, we really were having murder mystery parties on Saturdays. Every weekend. Rian would send a handwritten note to us all.”
Janelle found shooting the movie to be a “fulfilling and rich” experience.
She said: “It was a life-gasm being able to bond with everybody. This is what it’s about; the human experience. It’s really the people you have these experiences with that makes them so fulfilling and rich.”
Meanwhile, Daniel is keen to keep working with Rian.
The 54-year-old actor starred in the original ‘Knives Out’ movie, and he’d love to work with him again one day.
Daniel – who plays the part of detective Benoit Blanc in the mystery films – said: “It’s my second time and I hope we work together for the rest of my life.”

The 41-year-old presenter – who has children Harry, 13, Belle, 11, and seven-year-old Chester with husband Dan Baldwin – took her brood to lay flowers at the former residence of Queen Elizabeth, following her death at the age of 96 last Thursday (08.09.22) and told how they wrote the “most beautiful words” to the late monarch.
Alongside a picture of her children looking at the flowers, Holly wrote on Instagram: “Time to reflect and pay our respects… the children wrote the most beautiful words…[black heart emoji]” (sic)
The ‘This Morning’ host was inundated with comments from her fellow TV stars on the post on Sunday, with fellow presenter and former ‘Big Brother’ contestant Alison Hammond posting two heart emojis, while commentator and radio star Vanessa Feltz added that she had also been along to pay her respects.
She wrote: “We’ve just been. So emotional [pink flower emoji].”
‘This Morning’ was cancelled on the day immediately following the monarch’s death but Holly is set to return to screens on Monday (12.09.22) alongside regular co-host Phillip Schofield for a special edition of the programme – which will start at a later time of 11am and run until 1pm – whilst fellow ITV Daytime shows ‘Lorraine’ and ‘Loose Women’ will remain off air.

ITV will also be showing a number of documentaries about the Queen and the new King over the coming days. No advertising will run during any of the Royal coverage. ”

Mikey North: My Corrie character could be killed off at any point

OHMYGOSSIP — Mikey North is aware that his character on ‘Coronation Street’ could be killed off at “any point.”
The 35-year-old actor has starred as bad boy builder Gary Windass on the ITV soap since 2008 and has enjoyed discovering a “softer side” to his character but is aware that he could “go” at any point from the soap.
He said: “I’m glad this softer side of Gary is starting to pop up more and more now. Hopefully, they are starting to you know, round him off as a character and he’s grown up a lot in the last few years.
I’ve really enjoyed getting to play that side but obviously still with the knowledge that he could go at any point, but hopefully he’s becoming more of a nicer rounded character. I hope so anyway.
Gary – who has been married to long-running character Maria Connor since 2020 – is set to become involved in a rooftop showdown with Kelly Neelan after she discovers that he killed her father and Mikey went on to explain that although his alter ego doesn’t “intend” to do wrong, something always seems to “crop up.”
He told The Mirror: “It’s more about trying to redeem Gary for what he’s done and like I say, hopefully, deep down he doesn’t intend to do wrong.
“He is a good, kind family man deep down, but he does have that temper, but I just hope that we can find a way to redeem him. Hopefully this block of episodes can go a long way to doing that.
“There is a very protective side of him. He wants to look after his family and I always say that everything that he’s done, has mainly been with his family in mind and trying to do the right thing.
“I think things often go back to normal and then you know, something else seems to crop up. Let’s see. Let’s see what’s next if this isn’t the end.”
‘Coronation Street’ airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.

Motsi Mabuse doesn’t hang out with her fellow Strictly judges

OHMYGOSSIP — Motsi Mabuse “doesn’t hang out” with her fellow ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judges.
The 41-year-old star became a judge on the BBC Latin and ballroom competition back in 2017 and is due to return to screens later this month alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Anton du Beke and head judge Shirley Ballas but admitted that there is too much “pressure” to just “get the job done.”
Asked if she hangs out with her fellow judges, she told The Telegraph: “No, no. None of that. There are some moments where you write ‘happy birthday’ or something like that. There’s so much pressure – it’s prime time, so you get in, you do the job and everybody just wants to go home.”
However, Motsi – who previously served as a professional dancer on the German version of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ while her sister Oti left her role as a professional on the British version of the show to judge on ITV rival ‘Dancing on Ice’ – went on to explain that she will continue to fly the family “flag” for as long as she is wanted by BBC bosses and she felt compelled to write an autobiography in order to show fans the “real” version of herself.
She added: “I’ll continue to fly the Mabuse flag on Strictly for as long as they want When you’re a judge on Strictly, you only get to show a percentage of who you are. That’s why I wanted to write my memoir. I love the glitz and glamour of the show, but that’s just a small part of who I am. Nobody has seen me grow or witnessed my struggles, so I wanted to tell people about my background and show them the real me.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is set to return to BBC One on Saturday 17 September.

Amber Gill ‘relieved’ to have been axed first from Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Gill is “relieved” to have been axedfirst from ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.’
The 25-year-old reality star – who is best known for having won ‘Love Island’ back in 2019 alongside then-boyfriend Greg O’Shea – took part in the Channel 4 survival show but departed the programme on Sunday (11.09.22) after failing to complete a physical challenge on the beach and is concerned fans will think she “didn’t push” herself hard enough.
She said: “Although I felt relieved, I was kind of like ‘Oh for God’s sake, the stereotype is still going to be strong, like you didn’t push yourself enough and you’re just from ‘Love Island.'”
The former beautician went on to insist that she just “couldn’t do anymore” during her short stint in military-style training because it became “too much.”
She told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “I couldn’t do it anymore. It was just too much.”
Meanwhile, Amber’s fellow contestant and ‘TOWIE’ star Pete Wicks also left the programme after suffering several broken ribs when he fell out of a helicopter and will be “haunted” by his failure.
He said: “I was gutted actually. This is a bit of a thing for me, it’s like I’ve always wanted to do this show and the worst thing for me was to be taken out because that’s something that I can’t control But being completely honest, they’re a hundred percent right because I wouldn’t have been able to carry on with my broken ribs.
To have been out so early, I was absolutely gutted because it’s a fail And unfortunately now for me, I feel like I failed. It’s something that will f****** haunt me because I just don’t fail things.”
‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ continues on Sundays at 9pm on Channel 4, with the likes of former ‘EastEnders’ star Maisie Smith, Olympian Fatima Whitbread, and ex-footballer Ashley Cain, as well as a host of other famous faces all vying to impress ex-US Marine Rudy Reyes in a bid to pass the challenges of the show.

Queen Elizabeth was ‘signing off’ with Paddington sketch

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth was “signing off” with her ‘Paddington’ sketch.
The late monarch – who passed away last Thursday (08.09.22) at the age of 96 following a reign of 70 years – took part in a sketch with the children’s literary character as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations back in June and now writer Frank Cottrell-Boyce has explained that the idea actually came from the palace and aligned with Her Majesty’s own morals.
He said: “I think the idea came from the palace. Paddington embodies so many of the values that she stood for. Paddington is all about kindness, tolerance, being kind to strangers and politeness. Things that are about character.
“Those are the values she’s embodied throughout her life and it’s why we’re feeling so sad today. They’re not values that are uncontested so it wasn’t purely a cute thing to do. It was significant I think and that’s why it’s resonated so much.”
In the sketch, Paddington offers Queen Elizabeth a marmalade sandwich before it is revealed that she already has one in her famous handbag and the pair closed out the sketch by tapping their teacups to the beat of Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’ as the legendary rock band opened the celebratory concert but Frank was unsure whether he would be able to get the Queen to “pull it off.”
Frank added: “In those script meetings I was adamant we shouldn’t have the Queen tapping her cup. I said ‘she’ll never pull that off, it’s too much to ask’, see if there’s another line you can get out onShe pulled it off brilliantly. It’s amazing. She’s absolutely glowing in that moment. And you’ve got to remember that was real acting that’s going on there, Paddington isn’t really in the room.”
Frank concluded by labelling the sketch as “true happiness” and claimed that the Queen saw the whole project as “signing off” because she “knew” she was coming to the end of her life.
He told BBC News: “I think that was true happiness. She was someone who was approaching the end of her life. She knew she was. And this is a sign off, isn’t it?”

Daniel Radcliffe tips Everything Everywhere All at Once for Oscars success

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe thinks ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ is “the best film [he’s] seen in years”.
The 33-year-old actor is a huge fan of the comedy-drama film – which stars Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis – and he’s even tipped the movie for Oscars success.
He said: “It’s impossible to deny what that film’s done, and how they’ve made this insane film full of the biggest ideas, and the craziest storytelling. But it’s also still incredibly beautiful, and heartfelt, and funny, and fun the whole time.
“It’s the best film I’ve seen in years. It should be up for all of [the awards], I think.”
The actor is also a huge fan of directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, having previously worked with them on ‘Swiss Army Man’, their 2016 black comedy.
Daniel – who is best known for starring in the ‘Harry Potter’ film franchise – told Collider: “It makes me … It’s weird to have one of my favourite films directed by people I know now.
“It’s very … It’s slightly awkward. I feel weird telling them about it, but it is. It’s incredible.”
Meanwhile, Daniel recently revealed that he learned to play the accordion to star in ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story’.
The actor plays the musician in the biopic and he explained that the 62-year-old singer taught him to play the instrument in preparation for the part.
Daniel said: “Honestly, the thing that we worked on the most together was the accordion.
“He gave me some accordion lessons, which is something that I can take to my grave that I had that moment. I don’t need anything else.”

Holly Willoughby talked to her children so she could ‘understand’ the death of Queen Elizabeth

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby talked to her children so she could “understand” the death of Queen Elizabeth.
The 41-year-old presenter – who has children Harry, 13, Belle, 11, and seven-year-old Chester with husband Dan Baldwin – took her brood to lay flowers at the former residence of Queen Elizabeth, following her death at the age of 96 last Thursday (08.09.22) and explained upon returning to the ‘This Morning’ on Monday and found it “helpful” to talk to her children.
She said: “She was just consistently there for us. For so many of us, we never knew any different so suddenly for her not to be there…On Saturday, I wanted to take the children down [to Buckingham Palace] and I think when trying to explain to young people you’re almost trying to understand it yourself. And I felt it quite helpful talking to them, it was helping it sink in for myself.”
“They wrote letters and I think that’s quite a nice way to get out your feelings and your grief. Trying to explain that to [them ] – a lot of people have been talking about duty and that life of service and what that is like – and I was trying to explain to him that whatever her passions and love were, from being a little girl, this was where she was destined to go and what she was destined to do. All of her own passions had to be put on the back burner for her country. Chester loves football but that wouldn’t be something he to go to and it was kind of giving him that level of understanding.”
‘This Morning’ was cancelled on the Friday immediately following Her Majesty’s passing but Holly returned to screens alongside co-host Phillip Schofield on Monday for a special edition of the ITV Daytime show and explained that it was “difficult” to visit the palace because she had last been there as part of the Queen’s Jubilee back in June to celebrate her 70 years on the throne.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she added: “It was extraordinary to be there because the last time I was there was in June for the Jubilee, for the pageant and it was the last time we saw the Queen walk out on the balcony. But then three months later to be there placing flowers in her memory, it was difficult. It felt very, very emotional.”
Holly previously posted a picture from the outing on Instagram and captioned the post: “Time to reflect and pay our respects… the children wrote the most beautiful words…[black heart emoji]” (sic)

Dame Prue Leith: Fans will be devastated over the eliminations on GBBO

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Great British Bake Off’ judges say fans will be left “devastated” over this year’s eliminations.
The thirteenth series of the baking competition is set to return to Channel 4 tomorrow (13.09.22) and will comedians see Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas return as hosts, with Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith as judges.
When asked if fans will be left devastated, Prue said: “Of course.
“And you do get people on social media who feel so let down because you’ve got rid of their hero or they genuinely believed they were the best baker.”
Her fellow judge Paul went on to explain that it gets “really difficult” to eliminate contestants as the competition goes on but it is always “easier” if they make an obvious mistake.
In the joint interview, he told The Daily Mirror newspaper: “There was a couple of weeks where we had to sort of sit down properly and break things down to little faults that they may have had, which, in the end, sent them home. And it’s hard. It’s getting really difficult. I don’t want them to make a mistake, it just makes our life easier if they do.”
Meanwhile, former ‘Great British Menu’ host Prue, 82, told of how she had a fan come up to her and disagree with her comments on the show, while Paul added that it happens every year and insisted viewers have got to “trust” their opinions.
Prue said: “I had a woman in a supermarket say to me, ‘I didn’t agree with you about that lemon drizzle cake.’
“And I said: ‘Why?’ and she said ‘You said it was far too lemony and it was delicious…’Well, what do I say to that?”
Paul added: “Every year it’s the same!
“I’m saying: ‘But you never tasted it! Or smelt it. Or felt it. You saw a picture and you made your decision on that one sense.
“We had other senses we were using as well. You’ve got to trust us.’”
‘The Great British Bake Off’ airs on Tuesday nights from 13 September on Channel 4 at 8pm.

Sally Dynevor wants to work with her daughter Phoebe

OHMYGOSSIP — Sally Dynevor wants to work with her daughter Phoebe.
The 59-year-old actress has played Sally Metcalfe on ITV soap opera ‘Coronation Street’ since 1986 but admitted that it would be a “dream” to work with her daughter Phoebe Dynevor, 27, who has shot to worldwide fame by starring as Daphne on hit Netflix period drama ‘Bridgerton.’
She told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “I would like to do something with Phoebe. That would be a dream, I would love that. It would be amazing being on screen or on stage with her.”
Back in 2021, Phoebe alleged that her former ‘Dancing on Ice’ star mother – who also has Harriet, 18, and Samuel, 17, with husband Tim – was very “proud and excited” to see her follow in her footsteps as an actress.
She said: “She is very proud and excited. I watched the show with the whole family, even the grandparents managed to watch it. I had to sit there and fast forward on high alert with the remote control. We managed it just about!”
Former ‘Waterloo Road’ actress Phoebe has also spoken about how her mum Sally has influenced her fashion senses in real life, noting that she found her mum’s laid-back sense of fashion at home while being “dressy” at work always “kind of cool.”
She said: “In real life my mum was always a dungaree wearer, which probably rubbed off on me a lot. Work for her was the dressy time, not home, and I always thought that was kind of cool.”

Amy Childs wants take part in Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Childs wants to take part in ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The 32-year-old reality star would like to do a show where she learns a new skill and thinks she “might do well” if given a chance to compete on the ITV figure skating show.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “I’d like to do a show where I could learn a talent. ‘Dancing on Ice’ would be a great one. I’m not the beat skater but you’ll never know, I might do well.”
The former ‘TOWIE’ star went on to explain that practice makes perfect and is confident enough that her experience on Channel 4 ski competition ‘The Jump’ will stand her in good stead.
She added: “The more you practice, the better you will be. If I’m going to try to do something, I will make sure I put everything into it. I know you can’t help having accidents, but I did ‘The Jump’ and didn’t have any. For me it’s about positive thinking.”
‘Dancing on Ice’ is set to return to screens in early 2023, with stars such as former ‘EastEnders’ actress Rita Simons and Amy’s fellow ‘TOWIE’ alum Chloe Sims reportedly having been spotted auditioning for a place on the show.
Amy recently paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth following the monarch’s death aged 96 at Balmoral Castle on Thursday (08.09.22).
Alongside a throwback photo of herself as a schoolgirl meeting the Queen alongside her classmates, she wrote on Instagram:“What a very sad day… RIP our beautiful queen, such a great loss to our country really won’t be the same.”(sic)

Gabrielle Union hints at making a Bring It On sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabrielle Union is keen to make a ‘Bring It On’ sequel.
The 49-year-old actress starred in the original movie in 2000 alongside Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku, and Gabrielle has now suggested that she’d love to make a sequel.
Discussing the possibility of starring in a sequel, she shared: “I’ve heard many takes over the years, but I’m hearing some really great takes from some big-name writers that are very surprising.”
‘Bring it On’ centred on a champion high-school cheer-leading squad, and its success led to six direct-to-video sequels, none of which featured any of the original cast members.
But Gabrielle has already considered a potential new storyline for her on-screen character Isis, who captained the East Compton Clovers cheer-leading team.
The Hollywood star – who has Kaavia, three, with husband Dwyane Wade – told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Imagine if her daughter was, ya know, a high stepper from Jackson State, Hawthorne State or Hampton. There’s so many forms of cheer-leading that we don’t get to celebrate. The possibilities are endless.”
Gabrielle has “been an athlete [her] entire life. However, the actress previously confessed that her cheer-leading skills weren’t up to scratch.
Asked about her cheer-leading experience, she replied: “Just in junior high because you didn’t have to be popular to be a cheerleader.
“I’ve been an athlete my entire life, playing soccer, basketball, and softball, but those don’t prepare you for the sport of cheer-leading at all. And you can tell that I struggled because there are a lot of close-ups so it looks like I’m doing the same s*** that everyone else is doing even though I’m not as good.
“I’m matching most of the more dance-heavy choreography, but the more challenging cheer-leading stuff? No.”

Chris Hemsworth won’t get as ripped for next Thor movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Hemsworth doesn’t plan to get as ripped for his next appearance as Thor.
The 39-year-old actor has starred as the God of Thunder since 2011 – but Chris won’t bulk up as much when he appears in his next Marvel movie.
Chris – who recently starred in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ – explained: “Each time I’ve played the character and put the muscle on and put the size on, and then lost it for something else and played another character … there’s muscle memory, and I used to say it sort of got easier each time. This was particularly hard.
“I think because the target weight we aimed for was quite a ways above where I’d been before.
“We had 12 months when I was at home, just training and sort of, you know, puppeteering the body and manipulating and trying to like, ’Okay, we could try more swimming now or try more martial arts’. It was a really fun exploration, but I don’t know that I wanna get that big again.”
The Hollywood star found his workout regime to be “exhausting”, and he’s now keen to scale back his training.
Chris told The Direct: “It was just exhausting. I don’t know, maybe I’m getting old, but things just started to hurt more.”
The actor previously confessed to over-training during his early years as Thor.
Chris explained that his intense workout regime actually had a detrimental impact on his energy levels.
He shared: “For years I probably over-trained.
“People who do muscle-building often don’t realise it’s a sport that shouldn’t be seven days a week, two hours a day. I was doing that in the previous Thors, and was coming up sorer, with less energy.”
Chris actually adopts an athlete-like approach to his preparation – but he ultimately finds the experience to be “incredibly rewarding”.
He said: “The training across ten years of doing it is a full-time job. That and then a 12-hour shooting day – it’s real grind. It’s incredibly rewarding, too – you have to look at it like a professional athlete.”

Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page moving into dream house together

OHMYGOSSIP — Tasha Ghouri is moving into her “dream home” with Andrew Le Page.
The 23-year-old dancer first met real-estate agent Andrew, 27, when they appeared together on ITV reality dating show ‘Love Island’ and the couple are now due to move in to a two-bedroom flat in London less than six weeks after they reached the final at the beginning of August.
She said: “Andrew and I are officially moving in together and it’s our dream home. It’s in east London and we are moving in two weeks. I am so excited because so far Andrew has been living with me in my flat with my best friend and now it’s the perfect time to have a fresh start, just me and Andrew together, to be able to go home and it’s just the two of us… I’m really excited. We have lots of space in our new flat. It’s a two bedroom flat with two bathrooms, it has a nice balcony, it’s modern, a new build.”
“I’ve started shopping, getting fresh bedding, candles, I want to put pictures on the walls and things like that – I can’t wait.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Love Island’ finalists – who ultimately finished in fourth place behind couples Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope, Luca Bish and Gemma Owen, and eventual winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Saclimenti – recently sparked engagement rumours after revealing they had their “wedding planned” whilst answering questions from fans on YouTube.
Tasha addressed the rumours by adding: “I told Andrew it’s up to you if you want to propose. It’s in his hands.
“The reason why we’re thinking like that is because we’re both so excited and we’re enjoying our time together. It’s the kind of love that you just want to do it, it gets me excited if I talk about it. I get way ahead of myself but it’s up to Andrew isn’t it?
“Even before ‘Love Island’ I always wanted to get engaged and married young, which has always been my dream.”

Judi Love ‘cried ‘ over the cost of school uniforms for her children

OHMYGOSSIP — Judi Love once “cried” over the cost of school uniforms for her children.
The 42-year-old TV star – who worked in social care before launching a career in stand-up comedy and eventually found wider fame when she became a regular panelist on ‘Loose Women’ in 2020 – has a 12-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter from a previous relationship and can resonate with struggling parents trying to deal with the cost of living crisis.
She said: “I remember crying out of worry when my daughter started secondary school because I was unsure we’d be able to afford her school uniform. I know how parents are feeling about the current cost of living increase not allowing them to clothe or feed their children properly.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant went on to reassure parents that financial difficulties are “nothing to be ashamed about” and encouraged fans to donate to charities if they can and urged parents to “reach out” for help if they need it.
Writing in her OK! Magazine column, she added: “It’s tragic, but it’s also nothing to be ashamed about. I remember passing down my daughter’s old shirts to my son when he started school. Needs must. I would encourage anybody who can – no matter how little it may be – to donate to charities that pledge to provide food and school supplies to children of families struggling financially, such as The Trussell Trust and Brixton Soup Kitchen. Parents, please don’t feel ashamed to reach out.”
The ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ star – who lost her mother back in 2009 following a long battle with dementia – previously explained that it was her mum’s final moments that gave her the “push” to try out a career in comedy.
She said: “My mum started to pass away when I was pregnant. She had dementia and she stopped talking and I think that was one of the hardest things.
“I was doing an imitation of my Aunty Blossom with these two dogs. We called it ‘travelling’ and my mum was at the stage where she was travelling so her eyes were closed and I was doing all this and she was taking quite deep breaths. Hearing is the last thing to go, I was big belly pregnant at the time and she laughed! And I did it again and she laughed! I thought ‘If I can do that, I can try to do comedy.’ That was the push.”

Dannii Minogue fronting ‘very first’ gay dating show

OHMYGOSSIP — Dannii Minogue is to front the “very first” gay dating show.
The 50-year-old pop star will play matchmaker on upcoming series ‘I Kissed a Boy’ after being successful in setting up her own friends and believes it is “time” for the gay community to have their own show.
She said: “It is my dream job. I tried so many times with my friends to matchmake and I was very successful with friendships with business partnerships and then I was successful with my friends Ian and Dan – they got married. So yeah, it’s the very first gay dating show. Remind me why we’ve waited so long for this, right? I feel like it’s been years that we’ve been watching so many dating shows whether it’s on an island or whether it’s in a house. ‘Love on a Spectrum’ is one of my favourite’s and my sister Kylie’s favourite too. It’s just time for the LGBT community to have something like this.”
The ‘All I Wanna Do’ hitmaker went on to describe her new role as an “honour” and explained that she has always had a relationship with her gay audiences since becoming the first artist to perform at London’s G-A-Y nightclub several decades ago.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she added: “It’s something that I want to do with a lot of heart and soul and do it proud and do it well. I was the first performer at G-A-Y and Jeremy Joseph reminded me of that. I just thought ‘Well, that’s natural. Of course. I’m going to perform there.’ I didn’t think that there was any reason why I should but he told me that nobody else would perform there. It’s my happy place! The whole country – whether you’re trying to go out on a date now or if you’ve been on dating apps – there are so many people who are lonely and looking for love and they’re ready. So, hopefully, we’ll make some beautiful guys very happy.”
‘I Kissed a Boy’ is set to air on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer later this year.
