Meanwhile, Jenny previously opened up about her own experience of motherhood, describing it as an “endlessly fascinating, awful thing”.
She added: “I think it’s really easy to get it more wrong than you ever imagined you could or, to be more precise, more wrong than you feel you have.
“I left a lot of the rearing of Phoebe to her brilliant nanny, Vanessa. It worked very well, but there are consequences and you’re a fool if you don’t face up to those consequences.
“For me, it means that I’m ten years behind with my mothering of my daughter because I basically didn’t do it until she was about 12.”

Sally Wainwright feared writing ‘a duff third season’ of Happy Valley

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Happy Valley’ creator Sally Wainwright is desperate to avoid “a duff third season”.
The 60-year-old TV writer always planned to end the drama series – which stars Sarah Lancashire and James Norton – after three seasons, and Sally is determined that it will finish in style.
She shared: “I was really anxious not to write a duff third season. I really don’t think it is. There’s a very definite climax.”
Sally also promised fans that the show’s conclusion will be “pretty dramatic”.
She told Radio Times: “A narrative has gone across all three: in season 1, Catherine and Tommy came face-to-face outside Ryan’s school, and in season 2 they almost came face-to-face in the crematorium, at Tommy’s mum’s funeral. In season 3, there’s a very big face-to-face showdown. The kind of cathartic showdown that people have waited for. It’s pretty dramatic.”
Meanwhile, James Norton recently confessed to being “amazed” by the global popularity of ‘Happy Valley’.
The 37-year-old actor observed that the show is “quite specific” to its West Yorkshire setting.
He said: “It’s such a specific show about a very specific part of England.
“The accents and the temperaments and sensibilities of those characters are quite specific to the area.
“And yet when I go to America, I am amazed at how many people have watched it and how many people love it. People in the street ask me, ‘When is it coming back?’
“And that was a really proud moment, when I realised how it wasn’t only a show loved in the UK but internationally.”
James also hailed season three as “big and bold”.
He said: “I am immensely proud to able to have a part in it.
“To be able to say we have shot a third series and it’s as big and bold as ever is really wonderful.
“It’s particularly exciting because everyone knows it’s the last series so everyone is predicting and guessing how it will end.”

Victoria Derbyshire wants to appear on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Derbyshire would love to compete on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 54-year-old TV presenter hasn’t been approached about performing on the BBC show – but Victoria suggested she would jump at the opportunity.
She shared: “If I get asked to do ‘Strictly’ – which I honestly don’t think I will be – I’d totally consider it. I’m not sure if it would be the right thing to do because I do ‘Newsnight’.
“But hey, I did ‘I’m a Celebrity’ … two years ago, and now I’m doing ‘Newsnight’ and people are cool with it. People are less likely to put you in boxes these days.”
Victoria also believes she’s become “a bit more elegant” in recent years.
She told Woman and Home magazine: “My sister had a 50th birthday party in August and she had a board of pictures of us when we were younger and my god, I looked ridiculous!
“No fashion sense and stupid make-up. I hope I’ve learnt to look a bit less stupid and a bit more elegant.”
Meanwhile, Victoria previously hailed the NHS for saving her life.
The TV presenter was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and she thanked the health service for keeping her alive after she underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Victoria – who starred in a documentary series called ‘The Waiting Room’ – explained: “I said yes [to the show] because the NHS really helped me and kept me alive and I wanted to talk about it.”
Victoria subsequently thanked the team of people who helped her to overcome cancer.
She said: “I don’t just mean the surgeons, the doctors.
“I mean the chemo nurses, the ancillary staff, the radiographers, the radiologists, the ultrasound people.
“It’s a massive team who treat cancer patients and I hope there’s some appreciation for all of them.”

Sofia Boutella wants part in Star Trek 4

OHMYGOSSIP — Sofia Boutella is hoping for a role in ‘Star Trek 4’.
The 40-year-old actress featured in the 2016 film ‘Star Trek Beyond’ as the alien warrior Jaylah and she would love to reprise the part in the upcoming movie that remains in development at Paramount Pictures.
Speaking at Steel City Comic Con, Sofia said: “I would love to see her evolve with all of the guys and with everybody. I would love to go back to her. I love her a lot. I enjoyed that experience so much. I would do it in a heartbeat.”
‘Star Trek 4’ was removed from Paramount’s 2023 release calendar after director Matt Shakman left the project last August and Sofia has no idea about the status of the film.
She said: “I don’t know if they’re making a fourth one. I hear things all the time, but I don’t know what’s happening.”
Sofia discussed her experiences of working with co-star Simon Pegg, who co-wrote ‘Star Trek Beyond’, and says that the pair remain close friends.
The Algerian actress said: “I owe this experience to Simon. He wrote the character. He wrote the script, obviously. But aside from being on the screen, we developed a real strong friendship.
“He’s been incredible during filming, and after, and he remains a really good friend. We were very, very close during that shoot.”
Shakman had been due to helm the upcoming ‘Star Trek’ film but had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict over his work with ‘Fantastic Four’ for Marvel Studios.
Paramount Pictures said in a statement: “Matt Shakman is an incredibly talented filmmaker, and we regret the timing didn’t align for him to direct our upcoming ‘Star Trek’ film. We are grateful for his many contributions, are excited about the creative vision of this next chapter and look forward to bringing it to audiences all around world.”

James Wan has a plan for M3GAN sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — James Wan is already thinking about a ‘M3GAN’ sequel.
The 45-year-old filmmaker has produced the new sci-fi horror flick about a robotic doll that becomes extremely protective of a child and explained how the flick could develop into a franchise.
Speaking to Collider, James said: “What I will say to that is, whether it’s The Conjuring Universe, or ‘Saw’, or ‘Malignant’, or ‘M3GAN’ here, we like to think of a bigger world.
“For me, it’s about creating the world, and knowing who the characters are, where the story could potentially go, and then building this bigger world, and then going into that and going, ‘Okay, I’m telling this particular story, but I know other stuff that’s going on.'”
The ‘Aquaman’ director added: “So if we’re fortunate enough to have sequels, then we have an idea of where we want to go.”
‘M3GAN’ helmer Gerard Johnstone recently revealed how the movie, which stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw, had to have reshoots to get a PG-13 age rating.
The director told Total Film magazine: “Making it PG-13 was something that happened after the fact, but it was always close to PG-13 anyway.
“It seemed kind of a mistake not to embrace it. I even remember thinking early on, ‘This could be PG-13, and some of my favourite films like ‘Drag Me to Hell’ are PG-13.’ So we made the decision to go PG-13 and actually reshot a couple of things.”
Johnstone claimed that the reshoots actually enhanced the quality of the picture.
He said: “What I was really stoked about is that when we reshot those scenes, they were more effective. It’s like, ‘Yes, you do have to cut away at certain times’, but it’s fun having to rely on sound and suggestion so much.”

Amanda Lamb is ‘beyond heartbroken’ over Jonnie Irwin’s terminal cancer diagnosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Lamb is “beyond heartbroken” over her former co-star Jonnie Irwin’s terminal cancer diagnosis.
The ex-‘A Place in the Sun’ presenter – who hosted the show from 2001 until 2009 – admitted she “can’t bear” what the TV star is going through, and she has reached out to him.
She said: “One of the things I love about Jonnie is how he is tackling it with such dignity. I love the fact he is doing all these experiences and he is going to all these places. I hope he gets to see many more.
“But it’s horrific and I can’t bear it. He is such a gorgeous human being and it’s beyond heart-breaking. Life is so unfair. I’ve sent a message to Jonnie. He knows how loved he is but – rightly – he needs to focus on his immediate family now.”
Amanda believes it is important for people to know others are there “if you need them” during such a tough time.
She added to the Daily Express newspaper: “I think when you are going through anything whether it’s a bereavement, divorce, or a monumental occasion in your life, it is very important to know you are loved but also to know people are there if you need them.”
In November, former ‘A Place in the Sun’ presenter Jonnie told how he kept his terminal cancer diagnosis a secret over fears he might lose work if TV bosses discovered he was dying.
The 49-year-old TV presenter insisted he needs to put “food on the table” for his wife Jess, three-year-old son Rex and two-year-old twins Cormac and Rafa, but says producers are quick to “write you off” when they find out about his diagnosis.
He said: “As soon as people find out you’ve got cancer they write you off. Yes, I have stage four and it’s terminal – but not yet, so let me live my life while I can.
“Yes, I’m a family man and I need to put a roof over our heads and food on the table but work is something that’s really important to me. It also stops me thinking about cancer.”
Jonnie also claims ‘A Place in the Sun’ didn’t renew his contract after finding out about his diagnosis, despite him wanting to carry on with the show.
He said: “As soon as I told ‘A Place in the Sun’ about my diagnosis they paid me for the rest of the season but didn’t renew my contract. They knew I wanted to carry on.
“That hurt. That broke my heart. I feel hugely let down. I can’t even watch the show now.”
However, Channel 4 have claimed production company Freeform were not able to “secure adequate insurance” to cover Jonnie.
A statement from Channel 4 and production company Freeform said: “No stone was left unturned in trying to enable Jonnie to continue his international filming with us during COVID but the production company were unable to secure adequate insurance cover for him.
“We, of course, understand how frustrating this must be for him at this incredibly difficult time.”

Dave Bautista feels ‘relief’ to say goodbye to Guardians of the Galaxy’s Drax

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista feels a “relief” that he has said goodbye to his ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ character.
The 53-year-old actor is best known in the acting world for playing Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the 2014 movie, but he insists it “wasn’t all pleasant” portraying the comic book character.
He said: “I’m so grateful for Drax. I love him.
“But there’s a relief [that it’s over]. It wasn’t all pleasant. It was hard playing that role. The makeup process was beating me down.”
Bautista – who has since gone on to appear in the likes of James Bond film ‘Spectre’, and sci-fi movie ‘Dune’ – insisted it was a “silly performance” and he is keen to do “more dramatic stuff”.
He said: “And I just don’t know if I want Drax to be my legacy – it’s a silly performance, and I want to do more dramatic stuff.”
Bautista admits he would work for free if he could team up with his ‘Dune’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049’ director Denis Villeneuve on a regular basis.
He added to GQ magazine: “If I could be a number one [on the callsheet] with Denis, I would do it for f****** free.
“I think that’s how I could find out how good I could be. He brings out the best in me. He sees me in a different light, sees the performer that I want to be. That might be how I solve the puzzle.”
In May 2021, Bautista told how he had an “emotional breakdown” when he landed the role of Drax.
He said: “It was months of auditions and screen tests, and flying back and forth to LA, and keeping my fingers crossed. They wouldn’t exclude me from the role, but they wanted to audition other people, so I’m just holding on, in the mix. I think I wasn’t established as an actor. They still had reservations.
“But when I finally got the role, I had an emotional breakdown. It was life-changing. It was life-altering for me. I had been struggling just to even get auditions. It was like three years after I’d left wrestling. I left wrestling on top. I took a chance on myself, and really struggled for three years.
“If it had gone a different way, I would have been crushed. I would have been devastated. But it literally changed my career. It changed my life.

Jack Black hints at School of Rock sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Black has hinted at a sequel to ‘School of Rock’.
The 53-year-old actor has previously admitted a follow-up to the 2003 music comedy classic – in which he stars as the fraudulent substitute teacher and wannabe rock star Dewey Finn – wasn’t likely.
However, there were whispers of a sequel last year, with Paramount said to be keen on another instalment.
Now, during a joint interview with his Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass, Jack alleged that he’s considering both the ‘School of Rock 2’ and a sequel to the pair’s 2006 cult musical flick, ‘Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny’.
Jack said on SiriusXM: “Yup. Both of them. Breaking news. We’re thinking about doing both of those.”
Kyle then quipped: “It’s a hybrid – a school of D.”
Back in 2012, Jack claimed ‘School of Rock’ director Richard Linklater had a different vision for a second movie to his, but he didn’t rule out a sequel entirely.
He explained at the time: “I wouldn’t want to do it without the original writer and director, and we never all got together and saw eye-to-eye on what the script would be.
“It was not meant to be, unfortunately. But never say never.”
In 2021, Kevin Clark – who played Freddy ‘Spazzy McGee’ Jones in the film – was tragically killed in his hometown of Chicago, after a motorist collided with him while he was riding a bicycle.
Jack was left “heartbroken” and “devastated” by the loss.
Posting a picture of himself and Kevin in recent years alongside a still from the movie, he wrote: “Devastating news. Kevin is gone. Way too soon. Beautiful soul. So many great memories. Heartbroken. Sending love to his family and the whole School of Rock community. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ana de Armas and Keanu Reeves have filmed gruelling fight scenes for ‘Ballerina’.
The 34-year-old actress is playing the lead role in the ‘John Wick’ spin-off and says her body has been battered by combat scenes with Keanu – who is reprising his role as the hitman Wick.
Speaking on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Ana said: “We’ve been in Prague filming for four months. We still have one more month to go. And I’m in pain. You know, my body, my back, everything hurts. I’m complaining, I’m sore, I’m bruised.”
The star is no stranger to stunts after appearing in the James Bond film ‘No Time To Die’ but admits that ‘Ballerina’ is on “another level” compared to her brief appearance in the 007 flick – although she is grateful to be working with ‘The Matrix’ actor.
Ana said: “Bond was fifteen minutes. This is a whole movie, another level. But the other day, Keanu and I were rehearsing our very difficult stunt scene, and this man is just rolling and throwing me and doing crazy stunts.
“And I’m like – I can’t complain anymore. Because he is doing it! He truly is the best.”
The ‘Blonde’ actress plays the role of ballerina-assassin Rooney in the movie and is joined in the cast by Reeves, Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston, Norman Reedus, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Gabriel Byrne.

Michael Giacchino to direct Them! reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Giacchino will make his big-screen directorial debut on a remake of ‘Them!’.
The 55-year-old composer, who won an Academy Award for his work on the 2009 animated film ‘Up’, is working on a reboot of the 1954 sci-fi monster movie for Warner Bros.
Michael is meeting with writers in the hope of starting production on the project in the near future.
The original movie was helmed by Gordon Douglas and the plot centres around the discovery of a huge nest of irradiated ants in the New Mexico desert.
The critters become a national threat when two young queen ants and their consorts escape to set up new nests, with the national search that follows culminating in a battle in the storm drains of Los Angeles.
The composer told Deadline: “There’s always a movie in your mind that never leaves your head. For me, that’s ‘Them!’ It wasn’t until much later in life until I learned what it was about – the nuclear age.”
Giacchino added: “What I love about ‘Them!’ is exactly what it’s called: ‘Them!’ It’s about the other, the unknown which one refuses or can’t understand. The current version of ‘Them!’ is about immigration, and to tell a story about the subject through a lens of this insane science fiction monster movie.”
Michael has composed blockbusters such as ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘The Batman’ but has long been looking to direct a movie of his own.
He got behind the camera last year on the Marvel Studios/Disney+ special ‘Werewolf by Night’, which followed a superhero who fights evil using the abilities given to him by a curse brought on by his bloodline.
Michael has also directed the short ‘Monster Challenge’ and an episode of the TV series ‘Star Trek: Short Treks’.

Jilly Cooper fears Rivals viewers won’t handle X-rated scenes in TV adaptation

OHMYGOSSIP — Jilly Cooper isn’t sure viewers will be able to handle the X-rated TV adaptation of her book ‘Rivals’.
The 85-year-old star’s bonkbuster is being made into an eight-part series by Disney+, which see is overseeing, but she thinks audiences are “much more rigid” nowadays.
Jilly said: “They’re much more rigid – much more censorious. I don’t know about sex, you can’t say anything about anything. You daren’t.”
She joked: “I think they still have sex, people? I don’t know.”
Jilly has been working on a football novel, ‘Tackle’, for years.
The star insists her publishers have asked her to include more X-rated scenes, but joked she has “forgotten” all about sex.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “The problem is my football book… I keep getting told to put more sex in it, from my publisher. I’m 85. I’ve forgotten how to do it.”
In August, it was revealed Disney are to adapt the novelist’s 1988 book ‘Rivals’, and it will be executive produced by Jilly, former ‘EastEnders’ boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins and ex-‘Ackley Bridge’ producer Alexander Lamb.
Jilly said at the time: “I am so, so excited.
“Throughout my childhood, my favourite word was ‘Disney’, and by a miraculous coincidence, greater-than-ever Disney are joining forces with an utterly brilliant drama company, Happy Prince, to turn my novel into a TV series.
“I know they will bring the boardroom battles and love triangles of my characters to life – particularly those of my devastatingly handsome hero.
“I cannot wait to see who will be stepping into his shoes … let the hunt for our Rupert Campbell-Black commence!”
‘Rivals’ will be set in 1986 in the fictional upper-class county of Rutshire where a long-standing rivalry between two powerful men, notorious womaniser Rupert Campbell-Black, and his neighbour Tony Baddingham, controller of the independent TV franchise Corinium Television, is set to boil over.
The series is expected to bring a 2020s lens to the 1980s.

Louis Walsh launching new pop band

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Walsh is launching a new pop band.
The former ‘The X Factor’ judge – who helped to launch some of the biggest groups of recent decades, including Westlife, Girls Aloud and Boyzone – will unveil his new group, who are called Next In Line, on the world stage at the final of eco-fashion competition Junk Kouture in Abu Dhabi next week.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, the 70-year-old pop manager created the band – made up of five lads from Ireland – after holding open auditions in Dublin, and they have already recorded 10 songs with producer Brian Higgins.
This summer, Louis revealed he “couldn’t” take part in the rumoured revival of Saturday night singing competition ‘The X Factor’ – which last aired in 2019, with a celebrity edition – which the show’s creator Simon Cowell, 63, has hinted at.
He said: “I couldn’t do it, I don’t have a great filter, I like to say it as I see it. You know the people at home are thinking the same thing as you.
“Everyone is wonderful, ‘You’re going to be a star’ and all that, they’re not going to be a star, there’s very few stars out there.
“I think you have to be honest, that’s the one thing about Simon, he’s honest and people might not like that. It’s very hard to make it in this business, even if you’re good – I don’t know, I like to say it like it is.”
The former ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ judge labelled the ITV reality show as “real” and “funny”.
He added: “It was [an important part of pop culture], it really was and the shows are never going to be as good as that again.
“It was real, it was funny, it was everything, everything is too perfect now, everyone is afraid to have an opinion.”
