Sir Sam Mendes backs calls for gender-neutral awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Sam Mendes thinks it is “inevitable” that awards shows will move to gender-neutral categories.
The ‘Empire of Light’ director thinks it is “perfectly reasonable” to scrap separate male and female categories when it comes to giving out honours in order to make the film industry more inclusive.
He told the BBC: “I have total sympathy with it, yeah, and I think it might well be inevitable in the end.
“I think that’s the way it’s moving and I think that it’s perfectly reasonable.”
The 57-year-old filmmaker- who won an Oscar in 2000 for ‘American Beauty’ and a BAFTA for ‘1917’ in 2020 – insisted awards shows are mainly about “selling” movies and entertaining viewers with a TV show.
He added: “For me, people forget with awards, I think this happens all the time, they use it as a bellwether for the industry but the truth is awards are a TV show.
“You know, awards are there to promote films. If that film wins an award, I’m more likely to go and see it and that’s what you’re doing there. It’s not about yourself, it’s not about the art or craft of the industry, especially, it’s about selling films.”
But Sam insisted he wasn’t dismissing the accolades he has received in the past.
He continued:
“I’m not dismissing the importance of them but I’m saying they were there to promote films and the craft and art of films. They’re the shop window but they’re not the thing itself.”
Sam’s comments come after Emma Corrin – who identifies as non-binary and used gender-neutral pronouns – previously called for gender to be abolished at awards ceremonies.
The ‘Crown’ star said: “I hope for a future in which that happens. I don’t think the categories are inclusive enough at the moment.
“It’s difficult for me at the moment trying to justify in my head being non-binary and being nominated in female categories.
“When it comes to categories, do we need to make it specific as to whether you’re being nominated for a female role or a male role?”

Nicole Kidman is great in a crisis, says Baz Luhrmann

OHMYGOSSIP — Baz Luhrmann thinks Nicole Kidman is “great” at dealing with criticism.
The Oscar-winning actress remains one of the biggest names in the movie industry, and Baz claims that she’s also “great in a crisis”.
The acclaimed filmmaker – who directed Nicole in the 2008 movie ‘Australia’ – explained: “She’s at her absolute best on a set when things are really not very good.
“She’s great in a crisis, and at taking criticism. She takes it on the chin and she’s really wise. Every time when make a movie together, something really big happens.
“The first day of ‘Moulin Rouge!’, I lost my dad. On the last day, her husband left her. Everything we’ve ever made has been a high-wire act.”
Baz also feels that Nicole, 55, has a distinctive “star power”.
He told Empire magazine: “She’s a fantastic technical actor, but there’s a heightened screen presence. Some would say it’s star power. I would agree.
“Acting is an unusually strange thing. Because if you’re good at it, you get paid a lot of money to pretend that you’re in love, to pretend you’ve lost somebody in your life, to pretend you’re capable of murder. If you’re a heart surgeon, you know exactly what your contribution to the universe is.
“But if you do it really well like Nicole does, an actor’s contribution to the universe is that they reflect us back to us.”
Meanwhile, Nicole previously insisted she hasn’t got the voice to star in a Broadway musical.
The acclaimed actress is one of the most sought-after talents in Hollywood, but Nicole would feel “insecure” on Broadway.
Asked about the possibility, she replied: “I don’t think my voice is strong enough. It’s not strong enough. I mean, Broadway is like … and also I just would feel so insecure.”

Martin Compston had ‘interesting’ day being set on fire

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Compston joked it was “interesting” being set on fire while filming ‘The Rig’.
The 38-year-old actor – who plays Fulmer Hamilton in the supernatural drama series – likes to “get a bit physical” during filming but didn’t realise he’d pushed himself too far during one particular scene.
He told Britain’s GQ magazine: “It was one of my more interesting days at work. A lot of the time as actors we’re sitting around drinking tea so I like to get a bit physical when I can.
“At first, I thought it was amazing, I was on fire and I couldn’t feel a thing and then all of a sudden it’s getting a wee bit hot.
“[That] was apparently not supposed to happen but I kept going because nobody said cut.
“You just assume everything is going to be okay. As soon as they realised something was up, they came over with the blankets and fire extinguishers.”
Martin insisted he’s suffered no ill-effects from the accident and has put it behind him.
He added: “I was alright, my back got a bit of a tan, but what other job in the world would you be able to do that?”
The Scottish star is best known for his portrayal of DS Steve Arnott in ‘Line of Duty’ and he recently confirmed he has discussed the possibility of returning for a seventh season with showrunner Jed Mercurio and co-stars Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar.
He said: “Me, Jed, Vicky and Adrian had a sit-down and a big conversation last year just to see if we all honestly wanted to go again,
“It is definitely on the table. That talk was in April and from then nothing’s changed. All we’ve said is that we’d be up for doing one more at some point but none of us have signed on.”

Kym Marsh relates to struggling single mum character

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh can relate to her ‘Waterloo Road’ character’s struggles as a penniless single parent.
The 46-year-old actress was just 18 when she fell pregnant with son David, now 27, and raised him and his younger sister Emilie, 25, on her own so can understand the hardships her new alter ego, dinnerlady Nicky, faces in the school saga because she’s been there herself.
Kym – who has her elder kids with Dave Cunliffe and also has 11-year-old Polly with actor Jamie Lomas – said: “I was a single parent for many years when David and Emilie were little. I didn’t have anybody. I struggled to make ends meet. I begged and borrowed from family and friends to help me.
“Yes, there are elements of Nicky that I get and understand as I’ve been there too.”
And Kym thinks many other viewers will relate to Nicky’s issues too.
She added in an interview with the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “Nicky hasn’t always had it easy, she has struggled over the years.
“She owns her own salon, she had to close that down because of the pandemic. That’s very current.
“She’s struggling to make ends meet, she’s a single parent, she’s trying to hold down several jobs to make sure her children don’t go without. It’s very relatable right now with the cost-of-living crisis.”
Despite her struggles in the past, the ‘Morning Live’ presenter – who is married to Scott Ratcliff – is busier than ever these days.
She quipped: “My life, quiet? You’re joking aren’t you?
“When I’m asked what I’m watching I say the inside of my eyelids.
“I like to keep busy. I’m fortunate to have had work over the past few years. More of the same, please.”
“Acting is my first love. It’s part of me. I come to life when I’m acting. I feel like there’s lots more out there for women of my age.
“Dramas are coming up with big roles for women. It’s exciting.
“Times are changing and it’s great to see. Long may it continue.”

Jane Fonda and 80 for Brady co-stars couldn’t stop talking

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane Fonda and her ’80 for Brady’ co-stars couldn’t stop talking.
The 85-year-old actress admitted she, Sally Field, Rita Moreno and Lily Tomlin became a “problem for the director”, Kyle Marvin, because they had so much fun on set, they found it hard to get back into character and start working.
She joked to People magazine of the “problem”: “Getting us to stop talking to each other and start playing our characters.
“You know, we just — whether it was Rita and I singing — she starts a song and I finish it and vice versa. And I don’t know, we just, we really enjoyed it.”
Jane had known her co-stars for decades so was thrilled to get to work with them.
She said: “You know, I’ve known Lily for 50 years.
“I’ve made three other movies with her and another one is being shown on Sunday, by the way. ‘Moving On’, which I love, dark comedy.
“I’ve known Sally 40 years, and I just so admire her and watching her process of creating the character during the course of filming was really special.”
And Rita, 91, was delighted to be cast alongside such “spectacularly special actresses.”
She gushed: “So, you know, when the names were first mentioned to me, I said, ‘Who?! Who did you say is in this?! Oh, my God, that’s incredible.’ And you know, it was incredible. It was fabulous.
“This woman who is next to us here, Jane Fonda, is sensational and funny.
“And the movie, I’m happy to say, it’s so wonderful to sit here and not be even a little bit nervous. It’s funny, it does everything it’s supposed to do, this movie.
“And this woman is — I keep saying ‘This woman’ because she’s right next to me and you can’t see her — but Jane is just spectacular, and she’s funny.”
Jane praised Rita’s work ethic and admitted she was “in awe” of her.
She said: “I mean, when I started to feel tired, I’m 85, but she’s 91, and she never got tired.
“She was so full of energy and imagination and joy. I mean, look at her. I just, you know, I’m in awe of her, and she’s my new role model.”

Drama school changed my life, says Claire Foy

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Foy’s life was transformed by her time at drama school.
The 38-year-old actress has become one of the biggest names in the TV and film industries over recent years – but Claire was unaware of what it took to become successful before she attended the Oxford School of Drama.
The actress – whose film credits include ‘First Man’, ‘Unsane’ and ‘My Son’ – told Collider: “I think I went to drama school with very little understanding of what it would take to be an actor, or what was involved, or the skills you had to have … any of those things.”
Claire feels like her time at drama school prepared her for life in the movie industry.
She said: “At drama school, we did a lot of preparation for it … and we did a lot of, you know, prep around … the skills you might have to do it.”
Meanwhile, Claire stars alongside Rooney Mara and Frances McDormand in the new drama film ‘Women Talking’, which is based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Miriam Toews.
And Claire admits that the Sarah Polley-directed project represents a landmark in her career.
The acclaimed actress said: “This is the first film I’ve made where women are strong while not in a domestic setting.
“You usually see mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmas at the kitchen sink, in positions of importance. But this is basically the Senate, the Houses Of Parliament. These women are talking about the foundation of civilisation, about how they navigate the world as people and what is right and wrong.”

Joel Dommett ‘to host’ Survivor reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — Joel Dommett has reportedly signed up to present the upcoming ‘Survivor’ reboot.
The reality TV survival show is returning to the small screen almost two decades after the original series was axed and now a new report suggests ‘The Masked Singer’ presenter Joel has been tapped to front the new project for the BBC.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “He was offered the job just before Christmas and accepted almost immediately. It is his first BBC primetime role and is a huge leap for him …
“Joel was a massive fan of the original series and made that clear when approached. He really impressed with his passion, and work on ‘The Masked Singer’ and ‘The Masked Dancer’.”
The insider added: “The BBC feel Survivor is going to be massive, and having Joel is the cherry on the cake.”
The original ‘Survivor’ ran for two series from 2000 until 2002 with the first season being hosted by newsreader Mark Austin and the second being helmed by cricket commentator Mark Nicholas.
‘Survivor’ is expected to return to TV next year with applications for potential contestants open until February.
Kate Phillips, Director of Unscripted at the BBC, previously said of the project: ”Survivor’ is a global television hit and to be able to bring one of TV’s most successful formats to audiences in the UK in a uniquely BBC way is a very exciting prospect indeed.”
The show is filmed on an isolated island with the survivors being left to fend for themselves while also taking part in mental and physical challenges as they compete to be named the winner.
Despite only lasting two seasons in the UK, the format has been a huge hit around the world with the American version due to broadcast its 43rd season later this year.

Patsy Palmer is ‘nervous’ about hurting herself on Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Dancing On Ice’ star Patsy Palmer is “nervous” about injuring herself on the ice.
The 50-year-old former soap star – who is best known for playing Bianca Jackson in ‘EastEnders’ – has admitted she is “scared” about the “physical side” of the ITV ice skating contest, but she wants to show her kids that it’s good to challenge yourself.
Patsy – who has Fenton, 22, Emilia, 21, and Bertie, 12, with her husband Richard Merkell – told the press ahead of her and professional skater Matt Evers’ debut on the ice on Sunday (15.01.23): “I thought I wasn’t going to do this because it’s going to be too hard. I was also thinking about my age and that I might hurt myself, and I’m (based) in LA, I didn’t know how it would work.
“But then I thought it could work out quite well. It’s definitely going to be a brilliant challenge. I always want my kids to see it’s good to be doing fun things, challenging yourself and getting out there.”
Patsy is hoping the spins won’t make her sick like they did when she competed on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2005.
She said: “When I was doing ‘Strictly’ I used to get sick from spinning. I hadn’t really watched it so I didn’t realise how much spinning was involved.
“I was really gutted about that because it used to set me back. If I hadn’t had that I think I could have gone way further in the competition.
“I’m hoping that with the momentum on ice, it won’t happen. I’m obviously nervous about hurting myself, especially at my age as I’m 50 now – I don’t want to break any bones or anything.”
The DJ – who is based in Malibu now, but is residing in Berkshire for the show – continued: “Mainly it’s just the physical side that makes me scared but I know for a fact that I’ll be super nervous when it comes to the live shows. I do get very nervous but it’s good to have a little bit of nerves.”
Patsy hopes to inspire other women in their fifties to feel like “anything is possible”.
She added: “Everything else I do in life, I say ‘anything is possible’ and there is always a solution to everything.
“I would love to be in it to win it and I need to get that mentality, but in my realistic head I’m thinking it’s never going to happen and these people are going to be phenomenal.
“But I’m in this, I’m 50 years old and I’m there for the 50-year-old women. You can do this! Maybe I could win it, who knows?”
‘Dancing On Ice’ returns on January 15 at 6.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Rian Johnson explains Glass Onion’s Mona Lisa stunt

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Glass Onion’ director Rian Johnson has revealed the film’s Mona Lisa stunt was inspired by Mr Bean and produced a mountain of paperwork.
The ‘Knives Out’ sequel ends with the famous Leonardo Da Vinci painting being burnt to ashes in a fiery showdown and Rian has revealed the picture they set on fire was a replica painted by an artist in Belgrade and the law required them to document its destruction on set.
Speaking on Empire magazine’s ‘Spoiler Special’ podcast, the moviemaker explained: “We got a very talented, local Belgrade artist to do a recreation of the Mona Lisa and it was kind of extraordinary having it on set.
“I didn’t realise this, but if you get a recreation like this, you have to destroy them when you’re done filming, if it’s a famous work of art. You actually have to document yourself burning the canvas because of the counterfeit market.”
He went on to reveal the film’s star Daniel Craig was a bit worried about the fire sequence as he feared viewers might be upset about the destruction of a famous artwork.
However, Rian was adamant there would be a comedy element just like a famous scene in 1997 Mr Bean film ‘Bean’ in which Rowan Atkinson’s character accidentally destroys a priceless painting by Whistler.
He added: “Daniel [Craig] was a bit worried that we were ‘killing the puppy’ by upsetting people as we destroyed the Mona Lisa, but the scene in ‘Bean’ where he destroys ‘Whistler’s Mother’ is one of the funniest scenes in cinematic history, so I figured we’d get away with this. That scene is so good.”

Hugh Jackman will spend 6 months getting fit for Deadpool 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Jackman requires six months to get in shape to play Wolverine again.
The 54-year-old actor is reprising the iconic ‘X-Men’ role for the third ‘Deadpool’ movie, and he will make working out for the part his full-time job for half a year.
Speaking on HBO Max’s ‘Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace’, he spilled: “I’ve learned you can’t rush it. I’ve learned that it takes time.
“So, we have six months from when I finish [Broadway’s ‘The Music Man’] to when I started filming. And I’m not doing any other work. I’m going to be with my family and train. That’s going to be my job for six months.”
The ‘Greatest Showman’ star says his stint as Professor Harold Hill in ‘The Music Man’ has kept him fit.
He added: “And I’m really fit right now. There’s one thing that about eight shows a week being on Broadway singing and dancing, is I’m fit. So, I’m healthy. I have a good place to start. And apologies, chickens. Run a mile. Start running now because I’m coming for you.”
Jackman recently admitted he “fully intended” ‘Logan’ to be his final outing as Wolverine.
The Australian star insisted he always meant it when he told fans he was finished playing the character – though he confessed the idea of returning for Ryan Reynolds’ franchise has always been “lurking and brewing” in his subconscious.
He said: “Well, I was 20 minutes into watching ‘Deadpool’ and I had just announced, literally, a few weeks before that Logan was going to be my last, which I fully intended. And then I was like, ‘Uh-oh’…
“I’m a terrible poker player. All this time I was saying I was done, I really meant it. But anyway, somewhere deep down, this idea was obviously lurking and brewing.”
But over the summer, Jackman realised he “really wanted” to be a part of the ‘Deadpool’ saga and his role came together quickly once he’d called Ryan to reveal he was finally giving in to his begging, much to his friend’s surprise.
He told Deadline in November: “I was just driving out to the beach. It was mid-August, I had a week off from the show [‘The Music Man’ on Broadway], my first week off in eight, nine months, 10 months. And it came to me like, ‘I really want to do that.’ And that was it.
“As soon as I arrived at the beach, I rang Ryan just to see what the hell was going on. And then here we are. It was so quick.
“And trust me, there’s not a morning I don’t wake up where Ryan Reynolds is outside my house with posters saying, ‘Please.’ He’s constantly asking me about it.
“And I was like, ‘Dude, I’m done. I’m done, I’m done, I’m done, I’m done, I’m done.’ So then when he rang me [back], he was like, ‘Are you serious?’ So yeah.”
Jackman also recently revealed Deadpool and Wolverine hate each other.
Speaking on ‘The Empire Film Podcast’, he said of his and Ryan’s characters: “10 being really close, zero being the reality, we’re zero, we’re opposites, hate each other. I’m just talking from my perspective, [Logan is] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot.”
Although Wolverine died in the 2017 ‘Logan’ movie, Jackman insisted that his return in ‘Deadpool 3’ won’t affect the events of ‘Logan’.

Holly Willoughby: I would by useless on Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby would be “useless” as a contestant on ‘Dancing On Ice.’
The 41-year-old presenter hosts the ITV skating competition – which is set to return to screens on Sunday (15.01.23) with the likes of ‘EastEnders’ star Patsy Palmer and Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton taking part – alongside Phillip Schofield, 61, but admitted that she could never take to the rink herself because she is “scared of everything.”
She said: “There is no doubt about it, I would be useless! I’m scared of everything! The thing that would hold me back from enjoying the experience would be the fear of hurting myself. The ice is unreliable, so it adds an extra challenge, and its dangerous. So, although it is beautiful, there is a real danger to it.”
Meanwhile, Phillip – who initially presented ‘Dancing on Ice’ alongside his ‘This Morning’ co-star from 2006 until 2011 and then again from the show’s revival in 2018 – insisted that the ‘Strictly Come Dacing’ rival is one of the “hardest” on television because of the high danger levels involved with taking part.
He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Tops for Telly column as saying: “There is no question that it’s one of the hardest on TV. All of these other shows of a similar ilk are fantastic but this is one that is dangerous! There are blades on the bottom of their boots. They’re sharp!”
Completing the lineup for this year’s ‘Dancing On Ice’ is The Wanted singer Siva Kaneswaran, former ‘TOWIE’ star Joey Essex, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ contestant The Vivienne, football legend John Fashanu, ‘Love Island’ star Ekin-Su Culculoglu, ex-‘Hollyoaks’ star Carley Stenson, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson, comedian Darren Harriott and ‘Coronation Street’ actress Mollie Gallagher.
‘Dancing On Ice’ returns on January 15 at 6.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Love Island reveals FIRST contestant for 2023

OHMYGOSSIP — Tanya Manhenga has been unveiled as the first contestant of ‘Love Island’ 2023.
The 22-year-old influencer hails from Liverpool and studies biomedical science at university but has signed up to the winter edition of hit ITV2 reality dating show – which in summer 2022 was won by Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti – because she is looking for love and although she has a skin pigmentation known as Vitiligo, she “doesn’t care” about covering it up and finds it to be “quite cute.”
She said: “I’m looking for a boyfriend and I think being in a Villa with lots of different people will help me work out who it is I may want. I have Vitiligo, which is a skin pigmentation, you may not even notice it. It’s on my lip and I have a stripe on my hair. Not many people know that but I think it’s quite cute. I don’t care about covering it up all the time, I think it’s a vibe.”
Meanwhile, Tanya was asked what gives her the “ick” about the opposite sex and admitted that she cannot stand it when men walk around the house in their bare feet nor is she keen when they fail to put bubbles in the bath.
Asked what gives her the ick, she said: “Guys that don’t wear socks in the house. Why are your feet flapping all around the house? Guys have huge feet too, yuck. Also, guys in the bathtub with no bubbles, such an ick, no. ”
‘Love Island’ starts at 9pm Monday 16th January on ITV2, Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player

Allison Williams spoke to robot experts to prepare for M3GAN

OHMYGOSSIP — Allison Williams spoke to roboticists to prepare for her role in ‘M3GAN’.
The 34-year-old actress stars in the new sci-fi horror flick as the roboticist Gemma and had discussions with experts in the field to make sure she was well prepared for the part.
Allison joked to The Hollywood Reporter: “I understood almost nothing that they told me.
“I asked about what it’s like to be a woman in this field where there are so many men. I wanted to know what to wear and how to dress. Do you go full femme? Do you wear makeup? From the very superficial to the much deeper questions of why did you get into this field? What motivated you? Did you have role models? It was great.”
The movie’s titular character is a robotic doll that becomes overprotective of its child companion but Allison described it as her “most complicated co-star”.
She said: “Sometimes it was also just a piece of tape in an ‘X’ shape. It was just a very singular experience. I doubt I’ll ever have another one like it.”
Williams serves as an executive producer on ‘M3GAN’ and is grateful to have an influence both in front of and behind the camera.
The ‘Get Out’ star said: “I inherently have always been super invested in the things that I work on. I love being involved from the script stage to the very end with marketing and promotion, so it was a relief to have a title that meant that I was allowed to be as obsessed and as involved as I have always wanted to be.
“It also meant that I was able to have a 360-degree perspective on what it takes to get something like this made.”

Maria Bakalova to star in O Horizon

OHMYGOSSIP — Maria Bakalova has been cast in ‘O Horizon’.
The 26-year-old actress is to star in the sci-fi comedy-drama alongside David Strathairn.
The film wrapped production last autumn and has been written and directed by Emmy winner Madeleine Sackler.
The plot centres on Abby (Bakalova), a brilliant young neuroscientist who has recently lost her father Warren (Strathairn) and drowns her grief by spending her days working with a monkey called Dorey.
She meets a programmer called Sam who has created a technology that reconnects Abby with her beloved father. Her relationship with her digitalised dad forces her to re-examine everything from her romantic relationships to her life’s work.
Joseph Cross, Audrey Tommassini and Paul Nelson are all producers on the project.
Maria was widely praised for her performance in ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’ as Tutar Sadgiyev – the daughter of Sacha Baron Cohen’s titular alter ego – but explained how fame from the film means she has to be more measured in her behaviour.
She said: “Usually, everything that goes on in my head comes straight out of my mouth – which isn’t always a good thing.
“But you have to take responsibility for your words.”
The Bulgarian actress is due to star in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ and had high praise for director James Gunn.
Maria said: “I love James Gunn, I want to work with him for the rest of my life! He’s just everything.
“I don’t even know how to say it, he’s so talented. He’s so funny. He’s so fun. He’s such a great human being. What an example of a person that I’d want to be like. His dedication to his craft is admirable as well. It’s just phenomenal.
“I’ve been very lucky to meet him and to have a chance to work with him. I want to do it again and again.”

Katherine Ryan used to be on the poverty line

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Ryan used to be on the poverty line.
The 39-year-old comedienne stars opposite Romesh Rangathan in Sky Comedy series ‘Romantic Getaway’ and explained that she can relate to her character because she used to work in an office and would struggle with monthly bills before launching her career in standup.
She said: “ For a long time I worked in an office like Alison’s with the little cubicles and had to queue for the bus and Tube every day, doing a job that didn’t inspire me. And I still ended up on the poverty line at the end of every month – so I relate to these characters. I do so because I feel gratitude and surprised that people offer me jobs in comedy.”
The ‘All That Glitters: Britain’s Next Jewellery Star’ host – who has been married to Bobby Kootstra since 2019 and has son Frederick, 19 months, and one-month old Fenna Grace with him as well as 12-year-old Violet from a previous relationship – is now “financially comfortable” for the first time but joked that she “hasn’t slept” in over a year because she refuses to hire a nanny to look after her children.
She told Metro newspaper’s SixtySeconds column: “I’m financially comfortable for the first time. As soon as my daughter and I bought property, I felt a lot safer. I have the freedom to have a nanny if I wanted to, but for some reason I insist on raising my own children in a very ‘attachment’ Montessori fashion. I haven’t slept in 17 months so right now it’s a bit intense!”

Claude Littner wants to go on Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Claude Littner wants to take part in ‘Love Island’.
The ‘Apprentice’ star, who is an aide of Lord Alan Sugar on the BBC business show, has joked he is in negotiations with ITV about appearing on the dating show, and admitted he is “really looking forward” to the Casa Amor stage of the programme.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he said: “I think they’re after me. I think it’s just a matter of negotiating the final terms and I’ll be there.
“Casa Amor is something I’m really looking forward to getting into.”
It’s somewhat of a change of heart for 73-year-old businessman Claude, who is no stranger to a ‘Love Island’ rant.
In June 2018, Claude hit out at the ITV2 programme as “soul-destroying viewing” and blasted the contestants as “completely brainless”.
Despite this, the star couldn’t stop watching the launch episode that summer.
In a series of tweets, Claude wrote: “I’m going to take one episode at a time. It is soul destroying viewing, but I will not be deterred!
“Unfortunately it is a marathon and not a sprint. Honestly, I don’t know how much more of this I can bear. It is beyond doubt the worst tv programme…..and yet…..I am still watching!!
“I am watching, but not sure how much more of this unadulterated drivel I can take.
“It is appalling. Do you have the stomach for it? Not for the faint hearted!
“Love Island is a great talking point. It is that bad! (sic)”
In response to one fan who watched for just eight minutes, he replied: “You should have watched a bit longer. They are actually…..completely brainless and self obsessed. (sic)”
What’s more, Claude has also previously played down comparisons between ‘The Apprentice’ and ‘Love Island’.
Speaking in September 2018, he said: “I think that people want to look good on television and they want to present themselves and I think that the men and the women actually try and give their best image.
“So I think that you may make sort of comparisons with ‘Love Island’ I just think they want to look professional, glamorous and I think there’s nothing wrong with that … have a look at Karren [Brady] for example!”
