Ke Huy Quan ‘open’ to reprising Goonies character

OHMYGOSSIP — Ke Huy Quan would be “open” to reliving his ‘Goonies’ character in a new project.
The 51-year-old star won the Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture at the Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday (10.01.23) for his role in ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’, and he is up for reprising his role as Goonie Richard “Data” Wang.
But Quan admitted he isn’t sure if there could be a sequel to the 1985 adventure comedy film after director Richard Donner passed way in 2021 aged 91, and he admitted Steven Spielberg – who penned the story – should be asked about another ‘Goonies’ project.
Speaking at the event, he said: “First of all, we have the big man here tonight and that would be Steven Spielberg and that’s one thing everyone should ask him.
“There was not one spec that I felt could live up to what the original was.
“Sadly, we lost the captain of our ship [Donner], who I love dearly, and I really don’t know if there will be ‘Goonies 2’, but I would be open to reliving that character if there is that opportunity.”
Just a month before Donner passed away in July 2021, Corey Feldman, who portrayed Goonie Clark “Mouth” Devereaux in the original film, played down the prospect of a sequel.
He said: “Well, Sean Astin and Josh Brolin want a sequel but you know. It’s one of those powers that be things. Every time I thought, ‘OK, it’s really gonna happen’, I’ve been let down and had my heartbroken.
“I think I probably believed it the most over the pandemic. Because I thought, ‘OK it’s (‘The Goonies’) 35th anniversary, we did two reunions in one year, we went back and read the script together.
“And Chris Columbus even said on the call with all of us, and in subsequent emails, ‘Guys I’m so inspired, I’m actually writing again. Like I’m gonna do this. We’re gonna do this. We’re doing this.’ And then, nothing.”

Francis Ford Coppola rejects Megalopolis crisis reports

OHMYGOSSIP — Francis Ford Coppola has denied suggestions of chaos on the set of ‘Megalopolis’.
Reports earlier this week claimed that ‘The Godfather’ director is struggling to keep control over the film with insiders suggesting that the production was “absolute madness” with a high staff turnover and an escalating budget.
Coppola confirmed that there have been staffing issues on his self-financed passion project but insists that the shoot has been smooth.
The 83-year-old filmmaker told Deadline: “I’ve never worked on a film where I was so happy with the cast.
“I am so happy with the look and that we are on schedule. These reports never say who these sources are. To them, I say, ha, ha, just wait and see. Because this is a beautiful film and primarily so because the cast is so great.”
Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza and Dustin Hoffman are all set to feature in the sci-fi film and Francis praised the cast for their hard work on the movie – which centres on an architect rebuilding New York after the city is crippled by a financial crisis.
He said: “I’ve never enjoyed working with a cast who are so hardworking and so willing to go search for the unconventional, to come upon hidden solutions. It is a thrill to work with these actors and the photography is everything I could hope. The dailies are great.
“So if we’re on schedule, and I love the actors and the look is great, I don’t know what anyone’s talking about here.”
Coppola insists that the project will be finished by the spring and plans to open it across the world on the same day.
He said: “Every night I go see the dailies, and I understand why I am going through all of this. I love what I see, every night. The look of the film is exactly what I dreamed.”

Woody Harrelson to star in Project Artemis

OHMYGOSSIP — Woody Harrelson has been cast in ‘Project Artemis’.
The 61-year-old star joins an ensemble led by Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum in the Apple film set during the space race in the 1960s.
Plot details have not been revealed but other cast members include Jim Rash, Ray Romano, Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Nick Dillenburg and Christian Zuber.
Greg Berlanti is directing the movie that has been written by Rose Gilroy. He replaced Jason Bateman last year after the filmmaker amicably stepped down from the project.
Scarlett is producing alongside Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn for These Pictures and Sarah Schechter for Berlanti Productions. Robert Dohrmann is serving as executive producer.
Chris Evans had been due to star in the film but was replaced by Tatum as the project clashed with two of his other movies, ‘Pain Hustlers’ and ‘Big Red One’.
Lia said: “We are thrilled to welcome Greg Berlanti and Channing Tatum to ‘Project Artemis’. Greg’s passion for character and storytelling has driven his decades-long career in film and TV. We couldn’t be more excited for him to lead our team on this journey. We have been huge fans of Channing’s for a long time and are so honoured to finally have the opportunity to work with him.”
Meanwhile, Woody is set to star in the movie ‘Suncoast’ with Laura Linney and Nico Parker.
The film will be written and directed by Laura Chinn and is inspired by Chinn’s own life experience from the early 2000s. It follows a teenager (Parker) who lives with her strong-willed mother (Linney) and must take their brother to live in a specialised facility.
While there, she strikes up an unlikely friendship with an eccentric activist (Harrelson) amid protests surrounding controversial medical cases.

Love Island’s Lana Jenkins didn’t watch ex Owen Warner on I’m A Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ star Lana Jenkins says it would have been “weird” to watch her ex Owen Warner every night on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 25-year-old makeup artist has confessed she didn’t tune into the ITV1 reality show on a regular basis last year to see the ‘Hollyoaks’ star, 23, and she feels he might do the same as she gears up to enter the ITV2 dating show’s iconic villa.
Lana said: “I watched the last one and that was it. He got to the final and that was amazing but I thought it was a bit weird to watch your ex for an hour every night on telly. It’s just a bit weird.”
The star did keep it “nice” by dropping him a congratulatory text after he finished second on the show, behind retired footballer Jill Scott.
Lana said: “I did send him a message when he got out and said, ‘Well done, that’s amazing that you came runner-up.’ It was nice.”
The upcoming ‘Love Island’ contestant – who will appear on the show when it returns on Monday (16.01.23), when Maya Jama will also make her debut as the programme’s new presenter – hopes Owen will be “supportive” of her time on the series.
Lana is quoted by the Daily Mail newspaper as saying: “I don’t know what he’ll think but I hope he’ll be supportive. He probably won’t watch it because I wouldn’t watch it if he was on there, but hopefully he’ll be supportive of it.
“We have quite a lot of mutual friends so I don’t know if he’d have heard from anyone but I definitely just left it. He’ll find out when he sees it.”
Lana – who dated Owen after his split from his ‘Oaks’ co-star Stephanie Davis – revealed their break up was “amicable”.
She said: “We had a lovely relationship. We had a bit of a lockdown relationship so we spent a lot of time together and then when we ended.
“We ended amicably so I have nothing bad to say about our relationship and the time we spent together.”

Joel Dommett: My wife stopped me from turning into an horrific person

OHMYGOSSIP — Joel Dommett says his wife Hannah Cooper prevented him from turning into an “horrific person”.
The ‘Masked Singer’ presenter believes he has been able to remain levelheaded amid his rise to fame thanks to the 31-year-old model, who he fell in love with “at the perfect time”.
The 37-year-old comedian told The Sun newspaper: “Hannah is really important for me. I met her at the perfect time.
“I feel if I didn’t meet her when I did I probably wouldn’t be where I am right now and if I was here I would probably be a horrific human being.
“She keeps me grounded and happy. Without sounding all mushy, you know you have met the one when they make you a better person and Hannah definitely makes me a better person.”
Joel met Hannah via Instagram in 2016 – just after his stint on ITV reality show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ – and has told how the pair engaged in some feline flirting before their 2019 Mykonos nuptials, which featured ‘Love Island’ narrator Iain Stirling as the officiant.
He previously said: “We met on Instagram after I came out of ‘I’m A Celeb’. She sent me a cat emoji with the heart eyes.
“That is the modern equivalent of the old phrase, ‘You had me at hello,’ now it’s, ‘You had me at cat emoji’.
“She hadn’t watched the show but saw me doing an interview on ‘This Morning’ and sent me a message.
“It’s mad coming out of the jungle. I went from 11,000 followers to 350,000.
“I remember going through the direct messages, not knowing if I was meant to read them all.
“She always jokes that she was just at the top of the pile. I clicked on hers. We started chatting and I was blown away by how funny she was.
“We had our first date a few days later. She didn’t stop talking.”

Davina McCall wants to reboot Streetmate

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall wants to reboot ‘Streetmate’.
The former ‘Big Brother’ presenter is eager to bring back the 90s classic dating show – which saw her try to find single pedestrians the love of their lives – but this time she wants to make middle-aged love the centre of her mission.
The 55-year-old television presenter told singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor on her ‘Spinning Plates’ podcast: “I would quite like to do ‘Maturemate’ where I run around the streets and find somebody 45-plus and set them up with someone.”
Davina – who has kids Holly, 21, Tilly, 19, and Chester, 16, with her ex Matthew Robertson, 53 – is keen to make a documentary about women’s healthcare after her successful guide for women and their changing bodies, ‘Menopausing’.
She said: “Next year, we are looking at doing a documentary on the pill.
“There are so many different types, I don’t know what I’m talking about but I guess everybody will come on a journey to find out about it.
“Most women take the pill willy nilly but in fact HRT is safer than the pill on paper, but everybody treats HRT like their nemesis. But in fact we need to know more about the pill.”
While on the podcast, ‘The Masked Singer’ judge detailed how her boyfriend Michael Douglas explained it was totally normal that her kids aren’t “pining” to spend time with her.
Davina said: “She was off to Newcastle seeing her sister, visiting other friends, saying goodbye to all her mates, I was talking to Michael and I was like ‘Agh I’m really struggling with this!’
“And he said, ‘Davina, let’s go back to when you were 19. What were you doing?’ And I said I was leaving home and moving into a room in someone’s flat.
“And he said, ‘How did you feel?’ And I said, ‘Oh my god I was so excited.’
“He said, ‘Were you thinking about your parent’s feelings and how they felt about you leaving?’ And I said no.
“He went, ‘There you go. It’s not even on her radar, that you are pining. And don’t tell her you’re pining because it’ll just make her feel bad about going and this is the most exciting thing she’s ever done.’ ”

Sue Cleaver: Helen Worth is a very good friend of my birth mother

OHMYGOSSIP — Sue Cleaver was friends with Helen Worth for years before ‘Coronation Street’, because her co-star is a “very good friend” of her birth mother.
The 59-year-old actress revealed during an appearance on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ last year that she was adopted at birth and met her biological mother by chance as a young actress.
And now, Sue – who has portrayed Eileen Grimshaw on the ITV soap since 2000 – admitted she has known Helen (Gail Rodwell) for 36 years.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she said: “I’ve known Helen Worth a lot longer than 23 years. I met Helen when I was 23 years old, we’ve known each other that long.
“It’s always been fabulous [working with Helen]. I don’t think many people know that Helen was a very good friend of my birth mother, because I talked about that on the jungle.
“So yeah, we’ve known each other a very long time and we love our [characters’] fights. I love it.”
In November, Sue revealed to her campmates in the Australian jungle that she had never been her “authentic self” as a teenager, and was put in touch with her real mother during her early twenties.
She said: “Acting saved me. I’m adopted, and I had a lot of attachment disorders that I think started in my teens. Trying on personalities like coats, like ‘Is this who I am?’, ‘Does this suit me?’ I was never my authentic self, ever! It was when I was at drama school, so I was about 23 or 24.
“The Royal Exchange were looking for little tiny parts to be in ‘Oedipus’ that David Threlfall was doing. There was an actor in the show called Michael N. Harbour and when we walked in on the first day, he turned to David and said ‘Oh my God, she’s the absolute double of my wife when I met her!’
“He just said to me ‘What was your date of birth?’, I said ‘2nd of the ninth, 63’, he said, ‘Where were you born?’, and I went ‘Barnet.’ He rung his wife and said ‘I’ve found her.’ ”
The ‘Band of Gold’ actress went on to explain the resemblance between herself and her biological mother was “uncanny”.
Speaking to her shocked campmates, she added: “You see pictures of her at sort of like 20, and then [pictures of] me and it’s uncanny.
“She was 16 or 17 when she had me. I think she did what she had to do and I’m glad she did. I was brought up in a very loving family.
“I’ve got two half-sisters who are both in the business.
“Kate is huge in animation and Emma was an actress.
“My mum and my birth mother, we’ve all met and been out for dinner kept in touch and had a lovely relationship ever since. So it’s a nice ending, I’m very lucky. ”
Reflecting on her revelation in The Bush Telegraph, Sue noted that she is usually a “private person” but felt “really safe” amongst her co-stars.
She said: “I’m usually quite a private person and I just opened up. I feel really, really safe and I think everyone else does. Naturally, these things just come out. It felt good, it felt good to share.”

Vernon Kay and Shane Richie snuck in burner phones before I’m A Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — Vernon Kay and Shane Richie snuck in mobile phones before they went into ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The BBC Radio 2 DJ has told how he and the ‘EastEnders’ star bought “manky burner phones” before they headed into Gwrych Castle – the alternative location for the ITV1 reality show during the COVID-19 pandemic, due to travel restrictions – in 2020, and Vernon compared their antics to the HBO crime drama ‘The Wire’.
The 48-year-old television presenter told Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett on their ‘Dish’ podcast: “I knew Shane Richie was doing it … I said, ‘Look, they’re gonna take all our stuff off us, your laptop, your phone … take a burner and then we can keep in touch.
“So we both had these manky burner phones. It was like ‘The Wire’. We kind of kept in communication until the very last day.”
Vernon – who has daughters Phoebe, 18, and Amber, 13, with his wife, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ presenter Tess Daly, 53 – was happy to break the rules alongside the 58-year-old soap star, so he could speak to his kids before the series, which is usually filmed in the Australian jungle, got underway.
He said: “Having five days of no communication … I need to speak to the kids. I need to make sure everything’s alright.”
The sometime ‘This Morning’ presenter revealed he got his big break when he was approached by a model scout to strut his stuff on a catwalk on a boozy night out.
Vernon said: “It was me and two friends and we went there basically to do a little bit of Christmas shopping, but we knew that the Clothes Show Live was full of girls.
“Three guys, night out in Birmingham the Thursday before. It was great fun and we just ended up, once we’d done a lap of it, you think ‘Do you know what? It’s not all it’s hyped up to be this, let’s just sit in the bar’.
“So we just sat in the bar and we talked about football and this, that and the other. And then this guy, who I’m still friends with today, James North from Select Model Management, came up to me and said ‘Listen, you’ve got the look of the moment, would you mind doing this catwalk show for us?’
“I was absolutely bladdered, and I tried walking in a straight line and I’m all over the place and then at the end of it, the guy said ‘Look, if you want to we’ll offer you the chance to come down to London and see how it goes’.”

Johnny Vegas diagnosed with ADHD

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Vegas has been diagnosed with ADHD.
The ‘Romantic Getaway’ star admitted he is in the “early stages” of working through medication, after he was diagnosed with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) “just before Christmas”.
Johnny, 52, told ‘BBC Breakfast’: “It was always kicked around as a notion. I’m very careful about things like this and discussing it, but, no … I was diagnosed just before Christmas.
“Eventually, I bit the bullet and went in. I’ve had friends who have been diagnosed.
“I’m in the very early stages of working through meds and things like that.
“It just answers a lot of questions about behavioural issues.”
The former ‘Benidorm’ star admitted the diagnosis has helped to make “a lot of things make sense”.
Asked what difference the diagnosis has made to Johnny, he replied: “I think it’s just a lot of things make sense.
“That sense of disorganisation and doing basic tasks. Very simple things can become very time consuming.
“I suppose it’s how your brain organises itself. I always knew I was disorganised, but that was the kind of joke that, ‘I am as they made me.’
“It helps make sense of a lot of things at school.
“But I’m only just on the verge of learning about it.
“It was more a discussion of, ‘You’ve probably got something,’ so it is very different to saying, ‘No, you have.’ ”
Johnny’s comments come just days after former ‘Great British Bake Off’ co-host Sue Perkins revealed she has been diagnosed with ADHD.
Sue revealed the news on Twitter when replying to Gomez guitarist Tom Gray, who admitted he is “creeping towards” such a diagnosis.
He tweeted: “I’m creeping towards an ADHD diagnosis. Strongly advised to do it to help me but more likely help people who have relationships with me.
Never realised before how object permanence is such a problem for me.
Staying in touch rarely if ever occurs to me.
I can only apologise. x (sic)”
Sue replied: “I have fully crept. Once I had the diagnosis, suddenly everything made sense – to me and those who love me. Wishing you well on the journey, Tom x (sic)”

Dawn Ward: I’ve conquered Cheshire now I’m ready to conquer Dubai

OHMYGOSSIP — Ex-‘Real Housewives of Cheshire’ star Dawn Ward has no regrets over quitting show and is happy with new life in Dubai.
The 49-year-old reality star is married to footballer Ashley Ward, 52 and the pair swapped country living for the UAE’s urban jungle after leaving the series back in 2020 but the WAG has no regrets over her decision to move to the Arab country and still keeps in touch with some of her former co-stars.
She told HELLO! Magazine: “I’ve been fortunate to have been on T’he Real Housewives’ for 12 series. I don’t regret it at all and I keep in touch with the girls. Seema and Rachel have been my friends for 20 years, but now it’s a new chapter in my life. I felt exhausted and lethargic when I left the UK. There was so much negativity, whereas here, everyone is extremely positive.”
The lavish £7 million mansion in Alderley Edge recently went back on the market after their move which Dawn says is permanent.
Despite the five-bedroom property holding a lot of memories, Dawn – who has children Darby, 26, Taylor, 24, Charlie, 15, and 12-year-old Aston with the former Premier League footballer – isn’t sad to be selling the big family home.
She added: “It holds a lot of memories, but I’m not sad to be selling it. When I left it was with a smile on my face.
“I’ve conquered Cheshire, now it’s time to conquer Dubai. I’m absolutely delighted to be here. It’s the place to be.”
Our lifestyle is completely different. I love to power walk in the morning. I feel more focused and so much healthier, physically and mentally.
“Ashely and I get up, flop onto our bean bags by the pool, put Bon Jovi on, and chill all day. Then we put on our pyjamas and watch Netflix in the evening. I’m not always glammed up anymore. Far from it!”

Alan Fletcher: Neighbours was too good to let slip

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Fletcher thinks that ‘Neighbours’ was too good to “let slip.”
The 65-year-old actor has played Dr Karl Kennedy on the Australian soap opera – which is set to be revived by Amazon just three months after it was cancelled over a lack of funding and aired a finale featuring ex-stars such as Kylie Minogue and Guy Pearce – since 1994 but remembered fans of the show coming up to him on his recent UK tour to express their “grief” that the show had ended after 37 years on air.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’, he said: “I had nothing to do with it, I cannot claim any credit but more than five million people watched the last episode in the Uk and it was the highest-rated programme here in Australia so I think people just realised that and thought the show was too popular to let slip. I have to say that in the interim I toured the UK with my ‘The Doctor Will See You Now’ show right through September and there were so many people expressing their profound grief that ‘Neighbours’ had ended and I was very sad about it.
However, Alan went on to promise that the upcoming Farewell tour of the show – which will see the stars take to the stage in theatres across the UK until March – will be a “celebration” now that the show is being brought back.
He added: “Knowing that I was coming back again in March to do the ‘Neighbours’ farewell tour in March was quite shattering, but now its a celebration. We are back! And there are so many people who are pleased, I think we’re gonna have a fantastic show. People are gonna love it.”
Production on ‘Neighbours’ will begin in early 2023, and the soap will return in the second half of the year.

Corrie’s Jennie McAlpine reveals why she does not want to know her baby’s gender

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennie McAlpine does not want to know the sex of her baby before it arrives.
The 38-year-old actress – who is best known for having played Fiz Dobbs on the ITV soap opera ‘Coronation Steet’ since 2001 – is expecting her third child with husband Chris Farr and much like the last two pregnancies with children Albert, eight, and Hilda, four, is not tempted to find out the baby’s gender in an upcoming scan because it is “not relevant”.
She said: “It feels like our way to do it. Girl, boy – it’s not relevant! I’ve got two little humans who are very different from each other but I’m not sure they’re different because they’re a girl and a boy.”
Meanwhile, the former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’ star went on to add that some days she even “forgets” she is pregnant because of the usual “chaos” of having to balance domestic life with other commitments.
She told OK! Magazine: “There are days I forget! When I was pregnant with Albert, the pregnancy just consumed me, but there are other lives consuming me this time. All the schedules and calendars I have on the fridge… the logistics of three, getting them to swimming lessons… It’s going to be chaos, isn’t it?
“One of the first things I got Chris to do was get the baby car seat out of the loft and see if we could get all the kids in the back of the car – which we can, at a push. It’s all the practical stuff. I’ve got a friend who’s got four kids and they said after three, people stop offering to baby-sit. In fact, they stop offering to come around your house to visit!”

Drag Race star Baga Chipz to front new BBC documentary about the cost-of-living crisis

OHMYGOSSIP — Baga Chipz is set to front new docuseries about the state of the economy.
The 33-year-old drag queen – whose real name is Leo Loren – came third in the inaugural series of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ in 2019 and now be interviewing BBC journalists and experts for the new series about the cost-of-living crisis later this year.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “It’s a series all about the economy where I ask lots of questions about what it all means. You’ll see me have conversations with lots of well-known journalists from the BBC. They have to teach me about things like the cost-of-living crisis and the Bank Of England.”
The ‘Prince Andrew: The Musical’ star is hoping her documentary will educate others about how to deal with the economic recession.
She added: “The series is about educating the uneducated. A lot of us watch the news and don’t understand a word of it.
“It’s all about the FTSE and stuff. But I don’t understand all that. People around the country want to know what it all means and this series is about helping people.
“I’ll get them the experts to explain things in Baga Chipz lingo. I even get a buzzer that I can press when I’m confused!.”
Baga guest starred in Channel 4 school drama ‘Ackley Bridge’ in 2022 and also recently admitted that she would like to land a role on ITV soap opera ‘Coronation Street’ because she is a huge fan and is friendly with the cast.
She said: “I know this is a bit far-fetched but I would love to be on ‘Coronation Street’, even as an extra. I know most of the cast and I always go for a drink with them in Manchester. I’d like to be a character but even just like sitting in the cafe having a cup of tea, saying, ‘You alright love?’ I’ve put many hints out in interviews and they still haven’t gotten back to me.”

Don Cheadle was handed Marvel ultimatum at children’s birthday party

OHMYGOSSIP — Don Cheadle had just two hours to decide if he wanted to sign a six-movie contract with Marvel.
The 58-year-old star made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as James Rhodes/ War Machine in ‘Iron Man 2’ but has revealed how he had to make a quick decision on whether to join the blockbusters.
Recalling the day he got the part, Don told GQ magazine: “I was at my kid’s laser tag birthday party. They called me and said, ‘This is what’s happening and we’re giving you the offer. If you don’t say yes then we’re going to the next person. This is going to happen very fast. Why don’t you take an hour and decide if you want to do it.’
“It was a six-movie deal! In an hour I have to decide?”
Cheadle revealed how he quizzed Marvel on what the other five movies would be but was given limited information.
The ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ star said of the studio’s reply: “It’s going to be these Avengers and this is what it is, so you have to say yes or no.”
When Don enquired about the trajectory of his character, he was told: “We don’t know any of that but this is what it is so you’ve got an hour.
“So we played laser tag for two hours and I was talking to my wife and we thought about it and talked to my agent and tried to get as much information as we could.”

Nicolas Cage gives Face/Off sequel plot hints

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Cage claims that the ‘Face/Off’ sequel will feature the children of Castor Troy and Sean Archer.
The 59-year-old actor is set to reprise his role in Adam Wingard’s sequel to the 1997 action thriller and claims that the offspring of his and John Travolta’s characters will be involved in the new flick.
Speaking to Collider, Nicolas said: “I think ‘Face/Off’ is a sequel that lends itself to a lot of twists and turns and unpredictability.
“It’s almost like if you factor in the idea of offspring and Castor and Sean having children and these children grow up, then it becomes like three-dimensional chess, and then it’s not just the two, John Travolta and myself, it’s four of us ping-ponging and going at different levels, and it becomes even more complex.”
Nicolas confirmed that he has had “one meeting” about the film and thinks there is “fertile ground” for ideas.
The ‘Pig’ star said: “I think there’s a lot of fertile ground there. I had maybe one meeting in an office, but I haven’t heard anything since, so I don’t know.”
Cage’s character died in John Woo’s original film but Wingard says that the new installment will be an “absolute sequel” to allow the actor to return.
The 40-year-old filmmaker said: “He’s just having such a moment. Even before ‘Pig’ came out, we saw this as a Nicolas Cage movie.
“That’s become totally the obvious way to go now. A couple of years ago, the studio maybe would have wanted a hot, young, up-and-coming actor or something. Now, Nicolas Cage is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood again.”

Love Island signs up Michelle Keegan’s body double

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ has signed up a girl who has worked as Michelle Keegan’s body double.
The hit reality show will return to ITV2 on Monday (16.01.23) for its ninth series with 27-year-old actress Olivia Hawkins – who has worked as a body double for the former ‘Coronation Street’ star as well as ‘Harry Potter’ actress Emma Watson – set to take to the South African villa and will bring with her “a little bit of drama”.
She said: “I’m 27 and I’ve never been in a relationship so I feel like now I’m really ready to settle down and hopefully find the love of my life. I’ll bring fun, vibes, I’m a very confident, bubbly person…. maybe a little bit of drama! I did a film with Jason Statham and had a nice 10-minute convo about life. I’ve been a ring girl for KSI, I played a waitress in James Bond with Daniel Craig and I’ve also been a body double for Michelle Keegan and Emma Watson.”
Olivia will be joined in the villa by 25-year-old makeup artist Lana Jenkins, biomedical student Tanya Manhenga,22, hair stylist Tanyel Revan, 26, as well as 20-year-old payroll administrator Anna-May Robey all heading to the South African villa to find love.
Anna-May – who hails from Swansea – said: “I want a boyfriend; I want to find someone who makes me laugh. I’ve been single for quite a while, my mother is bugging me, she’s like, ‘You need to find a boyfriend.’ I’m just excited to try something new and I think going on Love Island is a good way to meet someone. I went on a date once and I never saw him again. We went for food and shared a bottle of wine. As I was speaking to him, he fell asleep! I had to clink his wine glass to wake him up!”
The girls will be joined by airport security officer Shaq Muhammad, 24, who is hoping to meet the “love of his life” in the villa, along with financial advisor Ron Hall,25, who promises to bring “fun and charisma” to the show as well as TV salesman Haris Namani, 21, who has “never taken a girl home” before, single but “caring” science teacher Kai Fagan, 24, and farmer Will Young, 23, who has struggled to find love because of his profession.
Will – who is from Buckinghamshire – said: “Having grown up on a farm, it’s been quite difficult juggling relationships and work. Love Island will give me time away from the farm to solely go out and find love. I think I’m at the time of my life where I’m mature enough to go and find a wife. Every night I light a candle and meditate for 20-25 minutes. A girl I was seeing told me to meditate, I tried it and loved it. I stopped seeing her and carried on meditating! It’s a nice way to self-reflect, taking a minute on my day/ week. It’s really nice and sets me up for a nice sleep!”
The upcoming series of ‘Love Island’ will be the first to be hosted by former ‘Celebrity Juice’ star Maya Jama, 28, following the departure of Laura Whitmore.
‘Love Island’ starts at 9pm Monday 16 January on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.
