Evangeline Lilly desperate to have a standalone Marvel film

OHMYGOSSIP — Evangeline Lilly wants a standalone Marvel movie.
The 43-year-old star is reprising her role as Hope van Dyne/ Wasp in the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ and plans to make it clear that she wants the character to be the subject of her own picture.
Speaking to Variety at the world premiere of the film in Los Angeles on Monday (06.02.23), Evangeline said: “Well, I’m going to make a pitch that I think it might be time for Hope spin-off… for a Wasp standalone film.
“Do we agree? Anybody? Going once… going twice.”
The ‘Lost’ actress has been in the MCU since the 2015 movie ‘Ant-Man’ and feels established as a member of the superhero franchise.
Evangeline said: “When we first came into the universe, it was so established with Black Widow, Iron Man, Captain America, and all the original gangsters. And we were just like these new kids on the block who were trying to earn our stripes.
“And now all of a sudden we’re in the centre at the launching point of Phase 5, and it feels really cool.”
Lilly previously revealed how she had plenty of input into the movie’s script.
She said: “I have a lot of opinions and I’d love to share them and I’d love to give you my thoughts on all of this.
“And to do it with confidence and to do it with clarity, instead of, before I even speak, already… brushing my own ideas under the carpet, which is an old habit of mine. Like, ‘Yeah, this probably isn’t a very good idea, but…’ or, ‘You don’t have to use this, I’m just going to tell you what it is.'”

Steven Soderbergh: There is no nudity in Magic Mike’s Last Dance

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Soderbergh has revealed that there is “no nudity” in ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’.
The 60-year-old director is helming the final movie in the ‘Magic Mike’ trilogy but has told viewers not to expect Channing Tatum’s stripper Mike Lane to be flashing the flesh.
Steven told Rolling Stone: “There’s no nudity in ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’. There’s not even a thong.”
Despite the lack of nude content, Soderbergh claims that the movie is “sexy” due to the chemistry that exists between Mike and the wealthy socialite Maxandra Mendoza (Salma Hayek Pinault).
The ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ director said: “And yet, it was our desire to make a sexy movie. What’s sexy is intimacy and genuine emotion. Something that feels alive, and electric, and has the potential for vulnerability. That can be sexy.”
Salma joined the film as a replacement for Thandiwe Newton – who had been due to star opposite Tatum – and the director explained how the script had to be altered to reflect the sudden casting change.
For example, Salma’s character’s daughter had been cast as a Newton lookalike but the updated script revealed that she was adopted by Mendoza.
Steven said: “That one aspect of it we had to finesse, but I think it played to the dynamic she has with her daughter and resulted in one of my favourite lines in the whole movie – when she says, ‘Mom’. Now I look at it and go, that’s how it always should have been.
“We had to recalibrate. There’s no question. We all spent hours and hours in rooms rebuilding it, rethinking it to make it specific. At a certain point, you have to surrender to what the cinema gods want for you. You really do.”

Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson closer than ever after Veganuary challenge

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Clifton has grown even closer to Jemma Robinson after embracing veganism for a month.
The ‘Married at First Sight’ stars famously had tensions in their relationship over their vastly different diets but after the committed carnivore ditched meat and dairy during Veganuary, Zoe’s planning to make long-term changes to her eating habits.
Zoe said: ” I think being able to cook together and being more creative at meal times has been the best bit. It’s brought us closer together.
“I 100 per cent will be making some longer-term changes, especially when the products taste the same, sometimes better even, than the meat version. The impact that Veganism has had on my health has shocked me, so why wouldn’t I carry it on!”
Jenna added: “It’s just made [our relationship] even stronger. We can now enjoy meals together more often now Zoe has realised she actually enjoys a lot of the vegan foods we’ve tried.”
And Jenna lives in hope that Zoe will one day ditch animal products for good.
She added: “I think it will continue to be something we can explore together and who knows! Maybe one day she’ll be fully plant based! Haha… I mean I can hope!”
But Zoe joked there have been some downsides.
She said: “I think working with Asda on Veganuary has brought us closer together, now we can cook together etc, although it’s a little annoying that we can share snacks now — I do miss putting chocolate back in the cupboard and having piece of mind that Jenna isn’t snacking on it when I leave the room!”
Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson partnered with Asda this January as Zoe embarks on her Veganuary challenge with Asda’s new OMV! And Plant Based by Asda ranges.

Jonah Hill and Lauren London’s You People kiss was faked, co-star claims

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonah Hill and Lauren London’s ‘You People’ co-star has claimed their kiss was faked with CGI.
The two stars – who play Ezra Cohen and Amira Mohammed in the movie – lock lips at the end of the Netflix romantic comedy but Andrew Schulz alleged the moment was never filmed and instead was achieved in post-production using computer wizardry.
Discussing the movie on his and Charlamagne Tha God’s ‘Brilliant Idiots’ podcast, Andrew – who plays Ezra’s cousin Avi – made the revelation when guest Nyla Simone said she agreed with social media comments that the leads didn’t make a believable couple.
He said: “There’s a hilarious thing — I don’t even know if I should share this s*** — but the final scene, they don’t even kiss. It’s CGI. Swear to God.
“I’m there — I’m watching the wedding — and I see them go in for the kiss, and their faces stop like this far. And I’m like, ‘I wonder how they’re gonna play that in the movie. Oh, they’re probably just gonna cut right there.’
“But the movie, you could see their faces come close, and then you could see their faces morph a little bit into a fake kiss.”
The kiss is seen in a medium shot in the film around a minute before the end credits, with their wedding smooch partially obscured by falling flower petals.
Andrew’s revelation comes after Lauren previously admitted she was reluctant to sign up for the movie at first because she was concerned about how genuine the bond between Ezra and Amira would feel.
She said: “I thought, ‘Why would these two people really like each other?’ We have to showcase a real connection. They’re from two totally different worlds, and if you see them, you would never think that they would meet or hang out, whatever the case is.”

Naomi Ackie took 6 months to ‘feel comfortable’ speaking like Whitney Houston

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Ackie took six months to feel “comfortable” speaking like Whitney Houston.
The 30-year-old actress stars as the late iconic singer in the biopic ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’, and she was coached by the same movement coach Austin Butler used for ‘Elvis’ and Rami Malek for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
In a video obtained by People, Naomi shared: “There was many different elements: How do I prepare myself vocally, singing-wise? The accent work took about six months to get really comfortable with it.
“And how do I prepare myself physically? In terms of movement, I worked with my amazing friend and my movement coach, Polly Bennett, and we kind of split it all up.”
Explaining how it all works vocal-wise, Naomi added: “Everyone has certain cadences. Everyone has a sort of inner rhythm. And if you study it and practice it enough, the hope is that it comes out really naturally.”
Naomi previously revealed she was convinced Whitney was a presence on set – admitting she felt particularly close to her when she was filming the singing scenes.
Naomi told Extratv.com: “[I felt she was there] especially when she was singing. That is why some of the performances were my favourite to film – because she was literally in the room. Hopefully that shows in the film.”
The ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ star was given a huge boost by all the support she received from Whitney’s family after landing the part.
She said: “They had like brought me on board to do it and believed in me in that kind of way was unbelievable in itself and they just continued to reinstate that.”
And she went on to add how much respect she has for the singer – who died in 2012 at the age of 48 – as she had been listening to her music ever since she was a child.
Naomi said: “She was just like us … when you strip away all the stardom and fame … she was a human being and she deserves compassion and love. Her legacy is undeniable.”
‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ also features Stanley Tucci as music mogul Clive Davis and ‘Moonlight’ star Ashton Sanders as Bobby Brown.

Molly-Mae Hague’s baby daughter Bambi is finding nappy changes ‘traumatic’

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague’s newborn daughter’s nappy changes have been “traumatic” for her.
The 23-year-old reality star and her ‘Love Island’ co-star Tommy Fury – who have been together since they met on the ITV2 dating show in 2019 – welcomed their first child together, baby daughter Bambi, on January 23, and the new mom has opened up about the challenges of being a first-time mum.
She told her Instagram followers: “My teeny tiny girl.
“Sometimes nappy changes are that traumatic for her that we don’t make it to the reclothing stage, so we just snuggle up in blankets and cuddle until she’s calm again.”
The blonde beauty is planning to film her birth story to share with the world but admitted it’s nerve-wracking.
She added: “I really want to film my birth story today, but I’m so nervous to get back in front of the camera…I’m not sure if my brain is working yet and if I try to do it and fail then I know that will really upset/frustrate me.
“I really want to catch you all up! Dilemmas.”
Bambi’s name was confirmed with a picture of the little bundle lying next to a plush of the Disney character that inspired her moniker underneath a light that spelled out her name.
Molly-Mae captioned the post: “Bambi [white heart emoji].”
Towards the end of last year, Molly-Mae explained that she had chosen the name when she was a child herself and teased that the name was “really unusual” and “different” and insisted that she knew nobody else with that name.
She said: “Yes, we do have a baby girl name picked out, I’ve had the name picked out since I was a baby girl myself. It’s always been a dream baby girl name and luckily when I met Tommy and I told him the name I’ve always dreamt of using, he absolutely loved it too. It’s a really really unusual and a different name, I do not know anybody else with the name. I’ve not seen any other girls with the name before, it’s that different.”
The PrettyLittleThing creative director gushed that becoming a mum had been “one of the best things” that had happened to her as she promised to love the new born unconditionally.
She said: “One week old today. I can’t believe we get to keep you forever. Becoming your mum has been one of the best things to ever happen to me… it doesn’t seem possible but my love for you grows with each passing moment. There is no feeling like holding you in my arms little one, my heart literally explodes. Thank you for entering this world safely for us and blessing us with the gift of being your parents. We promise to love and care for you unconditionally forever.”

Kaye Adams admits mum would’ve ‘killed her’ for tattoo tribute

OHMYGOSSIP — Kaye Adams’ mum would have “absolutely killed her” for getting a tattoo in her honour.
The ‘Loose Women’ star recently celebrated her 60th birthday in December by getting a design of her late mother’s favourite saying whenever she was asked her age – “Over Twenty One” – inked on her skin, and she admitted her mum Cathie would have very mixed feelings.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Although I’ve done it for her, the irony is she’d have absolutely killed me and told me to act my age!
“She is not going to be looking down and smiling, she’ll be shaking her first, but I think it would be fake outrage and deep down she’d be proud too.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star had always vowed to never get a tattoo, but inspiration struck.
She explained: “Every year, until I was 59, I said never, ever would I get a tattoo. I’m not a fan and I wouldn’t get a random one just for the hell of it – a bumble bee, a dolphin.
“But Over Twenty One suddenly popped into my head.”
Kaye – whose mum Cathie died in 2018 one year after dad Duncan passed away – noted that the tattoo on her left forearm felt like a fitting tribute in the end.
She added: “I’ve got one of my mum’s rings and it’s lovely, but it’s just not me. I sometimes look at it and feel guilty and almost disloyal and wish that I felt more of a connection with it.
“So, I guess the tattoo is a jewellery substitute – it’s very much a real reminder of mum and makes me smile.”
However, there was a moment when Kaye – who wanted the design to “look like a nice squiggle from a distance” – had a “real wobble” the night before getting it done.
She said: “But then I thought that it’s good to do different things. I don’t want to get stuck as I get older, I want to be able to change.”

Disabled ballerina fires back at Strictly Come Dancing backlash over reports about wheelchair user

OHMYGOSSIP — A disabled ballerina has hit out after backlash over reports ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will feature a contestant in a wheelchair.
The BBC Latin and ballroom competition is said to be casting a wheelchair user for the first time in the upcoming season, having featured a number of stars with disabilities in the past including Paralympian Ellie Simmonds last year and actress Rose Ayling-Ellis, who is deaf and won the 2021 series.
However, the report was met with backlash from some fans has led ballerina Kate Stanforth to fire back at the “ablelist” response.
She tweeted: “It’s been announced that @bbcstrictly are going to have a wheelchair user this year.
“I’ve just sat, honestly close to tears, as I’ve scrolled through the ableist comments about how wheelchair users are not welcome on the programme but also in general society.”
Katie – who notes in her Twitter bio that she is an inclusive dance school owner as well as a model and activist – urged people in wheelchairs to embrace their talents and realise they can dance.
She continued: “You’re just as worthy as anyone else to do whatever you want to do and I’m honestly so sorry society makes us feel bad this little sometimes.
“Our dance academy will be doing our own Strictly inspired classes for anyone who wants to dance throughout Strictly season (wheelchair or ambulatory), so please, don’t let this put you off!”
Including in her tweet was a photo of herself in striking a pose in her wheelchair wearing sportswear, as well as a tweet from a troll hitting out at the apparent decision from BBC.
The unidentified person wrote: “I’m sorry about anyone in a wheelchair but if this is for real then sorry then we stop watching. Then they will be having dancing dogs or cats as partners. Include everything on gods earth. Why not?”
According to reports this week, the BBC was meant to introduce its first wheelchair user last year bot the “logistics are very difficult” and they didn’t have time to train their professional dancer for this specific goal.
However, a source said: “This is an extremely challenging project but one that Strictly bosses think is worth it and believe it is going to be absolutely brilliant. There is so much excitement about this at the BBC right now.”

Abbey Clancy signs with ITV for new solo TV gig

The 36-year-old model – who launched ‘The Therapy Crouch’ podcast with her husband Peter Crouch earlier this year – is set to front an interior design series for the broadcaster and the she’s going to start filming in the summer.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Abbey has been making waves on her podcast with Peter and now she’s forging a solo path on the box.”

The source added: “Abbey is hugely passionate about interiors so she is so happy to have been asked to take part.
“She has had a few hosting stints before but on lesser-known shows and channels – like when she fronted ‘Britain’s Next Top Model’ on Lifetime for one series in 2015.”
Meanwhile, her husband Peter, 42, previously revealed he was offered the lead role in a new sitcom playing himself.
In his book ‘How To Be An Ex-Footballer’, he said: “I liked it. A fake documentary, elements of both ‘The Office’ and Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon’s ‘The Trip’.
“The scripts were excellent, written by James Kayler and Steve Lawrence who I’d worked with on Sport Relief.
“One mooted episode was called ‘Eat, Pray, Love’, and involved me going on a spa trip, only to accidentally join a cult.
“The final line in the blurb will stay with me for quite a long time, ‘Can Crouchie escape before he’s killed?’ ”
He also joined ‘The Masked Dancer’ panel last year for the second season alongside Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Oti Mabuse, and he had admitted the judging gig was “more nerve-wracking” than taking a penalty for England.
He said before the show: “I trained every single day of my life to play football so being in that position, you know you’ve been in training for it and you’re ready to go.”

“Never afraid to get in a scrape or two, yet loyal to the end even if it means putting himself in danger.”
His new character is said to be full of confidence when he arrives, but he is put on the back foot straight away when he comes face to face with Dylan Keogh.

Sir Anthony Hopkins and Glen Powell to star in Locked

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Anthony Hopkins and Glen Powell are to star in ‘Locked’.
The pair have boarded the cast of the remake of the Argentinian action thriller ‘4X4’ from director David Yarovesky.
Raimi Productions and ZQ Entertainment are producing the film with Michael Arlen Ross penning the script. Sam Raimi is serving as a producer after working with Yarovesky on the Netflix fantasy picture ‘Nightbooks’.
‘Locked’ is an intense, character-driven thriller about a thief who breaks into a luxury vehicle, only to realise that he has stumbled into a deadly trap set by a mysterious figure.
The original movie was written and directed by Mariano Cohn and Gaston Duprat.
Raimi told Deadline: “Dave Yarovesky so elevated the material on ‘Nightbooks’, and he was our first choice.
“The script was so good and he’s such a good communicator that we were able to interest Anthony Hopkins, who for my generation is just about the greatest actor ever.
“Glen’s character has got a soul to him that’s slowly revealed as the picture goes on. It seems as though he’s just a thief, someone that doesn’t care for others, but as the film unfolds, you realise he has a wife and a child that he loves and he’s wronged, and this whole experience gives him a chance to reflect back on how he’s treated them, and how he’s lived his life relative to them.”
He continued: “Because his time is at hand. He’s told by Sir Anthony Hopkins’ character that this will be it for him, and so the self-reflection is an element through the course of this adventure.
“But this is not an emotional piece as much as it is an action tension piece, a nonstop thrill ride with characters at the centre you learn to care about. That will be a satisfying experience for the audience.”
