Coronation Street star Sam Aston confirmed for Dancing on Ice 2025

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Aston is the fourth celebrity announced for ‘Dancing on Ice’ in 2025.
The 31-year-old actor has played the role of Chesney Brown on ‘Coronation Street’ since 2003 and even though the idea of taking part in the ITV1 competition was never something that was always on his bucket list, he got a “real buzz” when the opportunity was presented to him.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he said: “I can’t say it was something that I always wanted to do. It came about, and it was just one of them. The press office mentioned it, we went for a chat and I got a real buzz just going in and experiencing it.
“We just went for a chat, they explain how the show works and they stand you on the ice for five or 10 minutes just to get a basic sense of what you’ll be like and that was it really.”
The soap star – who has Sonny, four, Daisy, two and four-month old Hazel with wife Briony Gardner – made appearances on ‘ Where the Heart Is’ and ‘The Bill’ before landing his signature role as Chesney but apart from taking part in an episode of ‘All-Star Family Fortunes’ in 2005, has rarely featured as himself on TV because it was not something he had ever considered after starting his career as a child.
He said: “Coming into the show as a young child, you don’t really think about doing ‘I’m A Celeb’ or anything like that. But I’ve got children myself now, and my son is pretty excited about it.”
An actor from ITV’s flagship soap normally takes part in ‘Dancing on Ice’, and Sam will be following in the footsteps of the likes of Lisa George (Beth Tinker), Faye Brookes (Kate Connor), Sally Dynevor (Sally Metcalfe) and Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw), who claimed victory in last year’s competition.
Sam added: “Anyone at work who I’ve spoken to has done it have all kind of the same thing that it is a great experience and it is really hard, and it’s tiring and tough but it is brilliant as well. I’m nervous, but I’m excited as well.”
Just hours earlier, it was revealed that Olympian Sir Steve Redgrave, ‘The Traitors’ contestant Mollie Pearce and former ‘TOWIE’ star Ferne McCann will all also be gearing up to take part in the competition when it airs early next year.

Kerry Katona blasts Phillip Schofield’s return to TV as ‘tone-deaf’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona has slammed Phillip Schofield’s return to TV as “tone-deaf”.
The 62-year-old former broadcaster dramatically quit his long-running role on ‘This Morning’ in June 2023 after admitting to lying about his extramarital affair with a younger male colleague and as he gears up to retun to screens with his new reality documentary ‘Cast Away’, former Atomic Kitten star Kerry has blasted the whole thing as a “really self-indulgent move” even though she still intends to tune in.
Writing in her OK! Magazine column, she said: “Phillip Schofield is back on screen this week with his Channel 5 show ‘Cast Away’ and I was quite surprised at his return to television. If I’m honest, I think it’s a really self-indulgent move to have him alone on a desert island, playing the pity card. He talks about living with absolutely nothing on this island, but then he goes back to his big house, wealth and home comforts. I think it’s really tone-deaf. Saying that, we’re obviously all watching it, aren’t we?”
As part of the trailer for ‘Cast Away’, Phil questioned whether his affair with a younger male colleague was enough to “absolutely destroy” him, as he gears up for the new three-part series.
Speaking in a trailer for the upcoming show, he said: “I’ve been cast away on a desert island, completely on my own, all I have is camera gear, and I can say whatever I want about whatever I want.
“It’s my chance to tell my side of my story.
“I know what I did was unwise, but is it enough to absolutely destroy someone?”
Following her days as a pop singer, Kerry became a reality TV favourite as the winner of ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ and made appearances on shows like ‘Dancing on Ice’ and ‘Loose Women’ but admitted that one interview on ‘This Morning’ with Phillip in 2008 when she had been slurring her words had left her in the depths of depression.
She later explained it was a side effect of the medication she was taking at the time, but was left embroiled in a public feud with host Phillip – which has since been resolved – and previously admitted that her appearance left her so low because there was a lack of “aftercare” from the broadcaster.
Speaking on GB News’ ‘Dan Wootton Tonight’, she said: “I’m not here to jump on the bandwagon and pull Phillip Schofield down, we actually did kiss and make up. When he came out, I sent him a text saying he was very brave so I don’t wanna be a two-faced person, I have moved on from that.
“What I am here to say is that [because of] the culture at ITV and the toxicity, and the aftercare is so lack-of that I was left [wanting to take my own life]. No one reached out to me whatsoever, it was so disgusting!
“When I got home after that interview, it was like a crime scene. There were reporters, camera crews, and paparazzi.
“ITV never once reached out to me and said ‘Kerry, can we help you in any way? Could you just explain to us what bipolar is and what is the medication you’re on?’ Nobody wanted to work with me again and I’ve been very fortunate and lucky enough that I’ve turned my life around.”

Traitors star Mollie Pearce confirmed for Dancing on Ice 2025

OHMYGOSSIP — Mollie Pearce is the second celebrity confirmed for ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The 22-year-old reality star – who shot to fame when she became runner-up on ‘The Traitors’ earlier this year – will be competing on the ITV1 skating show when it returns to screens in early 2025.
Speaking on Monday’s (30.09.24) ‘Lorraine’, she said: “Haven’t started yet but I’m raring to go. The thought of it is scary so I want to get started and get practicing.
“My mum used to take me skating quite a lot when I was young, but I haven’t done it in years. I hope it’s one of those things like when you ride a bike!”
Mollie underwent surgery as a teenager to combat her ulcerative colitis and now has to wear a stoma bag and reflected that it was “inspirational” to see radio host Adele Roberts – who also wears a stoma following her battle with stage two battle cancer – take to the ice last year.
She said: “I think, for me, my stoma has given me life back completely so I’ve never really doubted it but watching Adele last year was amazing, she’s just so inspirational.”
Just hours earlier, it was announced that former ‘TOWIE’ star Ferne McCann will also be taking part in the annual competition.
Speaking on Monday’s (30.09.24) ‘Good Morning Britain’, she said: “I’m looking forward to it, it’s gonna be such a challenge, I’m such a huge fan of the show and with all the glitz and the glamour, it’s gonna be brilliant. I’ve got no idea [who my partner is]. I wanna be good, I am competitive…I’m looking forward to the challenge. We haven’t started training yet, we start next week.”

John Thomson was taken by surprise after sudden Coronation Street return

OHMYGOSSIP — John Thomson was left “shell-shocked” by his return to ‘Coronation Street’.
The 55-year-old star is set to reprise his role as Jesse Chadwick on the ITV soap after hastily being written into Gail Rodwell’s (Helen Worth) exit storyline following the sudden departure of Sean Wilson – who had been due to return as Gail’s former husband Martin Platt – and was taken aback by the speed of production on the show after 14 years away.
John, whose return scenes will air next week, told ITV: “I was a bit shell-shocked when I first came in because I’d forgotten the speed of the turnaround so it was an absolute baptism of fire. But everyone in the Platts has made me feel so welcome. I just feel secure and proper looked after.
“Helen and I are absolutely thrilled to be working together, everyone’s good company and there’s always fun to be had on set with the Platts, which is great.”
The ‘Cold Feet’ actor continued: “It was a bit like a crank handle starting a car after all these years but the laughs have got us through. Ben (Price, who plays Nick Tilsley) said to me: ‘You do know we’re all always word perfect, don’t you?’I thought ‘Oh no’ but thank God he was winding me up.
“My ability to learn lines at speed is getting better and better so it’s not as daunting as it was.”
John’s previous stint on the soap saw his alter ego romantically involved with Gail’s nemesis Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) although he insists that his character is a changed man as he returns to Weatherfield.
He said: “Jesse is not really prepared to see Eileen after things ended so badly between them. When Jesse left, he’d been spreading his bets over two sisters, which is slightly morally bankrupt to say the least.
“He’s changed dramatically because he’s very remorseful for that behaviour, so for him to think that Eileen would even contemplate having him back after he made a play for her sister is not on his radar.
“I don’t think the new Jesse could possibly entertain that there would ever be anything with Eileen again because of his actions in the past.”

Olympian Sir Steve Redgrave announced for Dancing On Ice 2025

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Steve Redgrave is the third celebrity announced for ‘Dancing On Ice’ in 2025.
The 62-year-old retired rower will take part in the upcoming edition of the ITV1 skating competition when it returns to screens early next year and explained that the whole thing came about as a result of a joke he made to his fellow Olympians and judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he said: “Earlier this year, on the series, it was Torvill and Dean’s 40th anniversary of winning their first Olympic gold medal, and it’s my 40th anniversary this ear as well so we know each other quite well. And I did one of the links to the show, to congratulate them. So I jokingly told them to try to get me on the show, just as a joke, and here we are a few months later.”
The rower – who who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games from 1984 to 2000 – admitted that he has had “a lot of doubt” over his new venture because despite his status as a sports star, he is quite an “uncooridnated” person.
“There’s been a lot of doubt in my mind. Rowers row because they can’t throw, catch, or kick a bowl. Rowing is a very coordinated sport but it ends up being people who aren’t very coordinated because it’s a repetitive sport. You’re doing the same movements over and over again, and [with this], I might be doing a lot of sitting down! We all start next week, there’s a masterclass on Tuesday and then our formal training starts every day. Two hours a day, five days a week. Weekends off!”
Just hours earlier, it was announced that ‘TOWIE’ star Ferne McCann and ‘The Traitors’ contestant Mollie Pearce will also be taking to the rink as part of the new series.

‘Let’s go for it’: Robert Englund eyes animated A Nightmare on Elm Street return

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Englund wants to return to the ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ series for an animated movie.
The 77-year-old actor starred as the dreaded Freddy Krueger in the horror franchise from the 1984 original until the 2003 spin-off ‘Freddy vs. Jason’, though has now revealed he would happily reprise his role as the terrifying killer in an R-rated animated flick.
When ComicBook.com pitched Englund the idea, he said: “Let’s go for it. We’ll have lunch!
“No, that’s a great idea. Well, you know, Freddy’s made appearances in some sophisticated games, but I’m thinking that would be a great idea. A nice, dark, animated ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’.”
The Hollywood star then suggested a “retro” Freddy Krueger prequel set in the 1970s that would follow the killer before he terrorised young children in their dreams.
He said: “I would almost like to see a prequel to ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, where we see Freddy go to jail, go to court, courtroom drama, he gets off.
“The lawyers could be really interesting characters. They could be really sleazy, what’s it called, ambulance chasers? And get some good character actors to play the lawyers. Freddy gets off, he gloats on the courthouse steps. He’s not Freddy yet, he’s not burned yet, he’s whoever that person is.
“We get more insight into him and his wife and child, and what kind of a twisted soul he is. And make it a little retro, set it maybe late 70s, or mid-70s, in kind of a suburban world where there’s a sleazy disco around the corner or something.”
While Englund loves the idea of making a return to the franchise, his co-star Heather Langenkamp, 60, doubts whether the series could exist today due to the presence of social media.
She explained: “I almost think it’s impossible to have a scary character with social media.
“By the time you’ve already put out the scary side, there’s like a hundred memes of you being ridiculous, and they’ve figured out a way to humiliate you, so I don’t even know if Freddy could exist today.”

Lupita Nyong’o shares hopes for The Wild Robot 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Lupita Nyong’o would love to make a sequel to ‘The Wild Robot’.
The 41-year-old actress stars as the lovable and inquisitive android Roz in the upcoming animated Dreamworks movie – which is based on the Peter Brown novel of the same name – and has shared her excitement over a possible follow-up flick.
When NBC Insider asked the ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ actress if she would be happy to appear in a potential sequel, she said: “Oh, my goodness, yes. I mean, I love Roz. I love this project.
“It’s a good thing Peter Brown wrote three books! I would revisit her in a heartbeat.”
Director Chris Sanders added that he and the rest of the team would also be keen to continue working on the series.
He said: “I would very much like to. I think the entire crew really, really involved themselves in this film in a way that I’ve never seen before, myself included. This was a labor of love on the part of everybody at the studio, and yes, I think I’d love to go and stay here for a while.”
‘The Wild Robot’ – which also stars Mark Hamill, Pedro Pascal, Bill Nighy and Catherine O’Hara and is due to hit cinemas on 18 October – follows Roz the android who comes to learn how to adapt and communicate with the local wildlife after being stranded on a remote island.
While she loved working on the picture, Nyong’o previously admitted making the flick hadn’t been a completely smooth experience after finding that the “super-positive voice” she used for Roz strained her vocals and gave her a polyp – a non-cancerous growth that can form on one or both vocal cords.
During an appearance on ‘Late Night with Seth Myers’, she told the host: “[Roz] goes through this journey to finding, I guess, what we would call humanity, like empathy.
“And so at the start of the movie, I chose to do this very, kind of like, super-positive voice. And it was, like, just not in my vocal register, which is a lot lower.
“I did it for way too long over a number of days, and I got a vocal polyp.”

BBC apologises to Amanda Abbington over Strictly experience as Giovanni Pernice is mostly cleared

OHMYGOSSIP — The BBC has apologised to Amanda Abbington over her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ experience.
The 50-year-old actress made a formal complaint after accusing her partner Giovanni Pernice of abusive behavior during her short-lived time on the series in 2023 and the broadcaster has taken the claims “very seriously”, although just six of the 17 allegations made against the professional dancer have actually been upheld.
In a statement, the BBC said: “We have assessed the complaints and we have upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made.
“We want to apologise to Amanda Abbington and to thank her for coming forward and taking part. We know this would not have been an easy thing to do.”
The report found that some of the language used by Giovanni towards Amanda could be “belittling” and agreed with the ‘Sherlock’ actress that his feedback was, at times, “overly negative”and that he had used profanity during rehearsals.
The report noted after reviewing several hours of rehearsal footage as part of an official investigation that there were two moments of “inappropriate behaviour of sexual banter in the workplace”, which were found to simply have been “made and received as jokes” between the pair.
Amanda’s complaint that he sent her a video on WhatsApp which she deemed to be inappropriate was also not upheld
A source told MailOnline: “Gio is pleased that this has been thrown out after what has been a torrid nine months or so for him.
“From the outset, Giovanni has rejected any claims of threatening or abusive behaviour. While it appreciates that the BBC has likely decided to uphold some allegations to avoid the accusations of a ‘whitewash’ – they’ve upheld the weakest allegations put to him.”
Following the launch of the investigation, Giovanni was not included in the line up of this year’s ‘Strictly’ competition.
Amanda quit the show in week six of the competition and while she is is yet to speak out about the BBC’s apology, she previously claimed that she was being as “amenable as possible” in the rehearsal room, while her co-star was not.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday newspaper about making a complaint to the BBC, she said: “I found Giovanni’s behaviour unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean. I couldn’t sit back and let him do that to other people.
“I had to think long and hard about making a complaint because I knew the backlash I would get. But I would not have been able to live with myself for future people going on that show.
“I know what happened in that room, it’s on video and I have no problem with anyone seeing that. It’s a duty of care that is needed.
“Rehearsal rooms should be a safe space, there is a duty of care and kindness, and that courtesy wasn’t extended to me on this job.
“I was being as amenable as possible and it wasn’t being reciprocated, that’s all.
“And I wanted to complain about it because I didn’t think it was fair — this is a publicly owned company.”

Amanda Abbington ‘feels vindicated’ after BBC apologise to her for her experience on Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Abbington has “never regretted” making a formal complaint against Giovanni Pernice.
The 50-year-old actress made a shock exit from ‘Strictly Come Dancing just weeks into the competition in 2023 and later accused her professional partner of subjecting her to “vile abuse” during rehearsals but has now broken her silence after the broadcaster issued her with a formal apology as she opened up about the “threats” she has received from members of the public during the tumultuous time.
In a statement released on Monday (30.09.24), she said: “My decision to come forward and complain about Giovanni Pernice’s conduct towards me was not an easy thing to do.
“In the days, weeks and months since I contacted the BBC, I’ve been accused of being a liar, a troublemaker and of being mad and unstable.
“I’ve also received rape and murder threats and a bomb threat was sent to my place of work. My family and children have also been subjected to threats and intimidation.
“Despite this vile abuse, I’ve never regretted coming forward, and today’s apology from the BBC is a vindication of my complaint.
“It’s not just a vindication for me, it’s a vindication for the other people who have contacted me since I made my complaint to express concerns about their own experiences on Strictly Come Dancing.”
The former ‘Sherlock’ star – who has Joe, 18, and Grace, 16, with former partner Martin Freeman – will now be considering whether to meet with senior management at the BBC and hopes that her actions will let others be more “confident” if they feel they need to speak out in the future.
She added: “I hope those who have felt unable to speak out now will be more confident that they will be listened to and believed.”
Giovanni has always denied the claims made against him, and a representative for the TV star claimed that he is “pleased” that he has been cleared of most of the accusations as he continues to star on the Italian version of ‘Strictly’.
The rep said: “We are pleased that this six-month review has not found any evidence of threatening or abusive behaviour by Giovanni.
“Giovanni is relieved that the overwhelming majority of allegations out to the BBC have not been upheld and looks forward to continuing his work on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ in Italy this season”
Just hours earlier, the broadcaster said that it has taken the claims “very seriously”, although just six of the 17 allegations made against the professional dancer have actually been upheld.
In a statement, the BBC said: “We have assessed the complaints and we have upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made.
“We want to apologise to Amanda Abbington and to thank her for coming forward and taking part. We know this would not have been an easy thing to do.”
The report found that some of the language used by Giovanni towards Amanda could be “belittling” and agreed with the ‘Mr. Selfridge’ actress that his feedback was, at times, “overly negative”and that he had used profanity during rehearsals.
The report noted after reviewing several hours of rehearsal footage as part of an official investigation that there were two moments of “inappropriate behaviour of sexual banter in the workplace”, which were found to simply have been “made and received as jokes” between the pair.
Amanda’s complaint that he sent her a video on WhatsApp which she deemed to be inappropriate was also not upheld.”

Tom Dean becomes the first contestant voted off Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Dean has become the first celebrity to be voted off ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 24-year-old Olympian had been taking part in the BBC Latin and ballroom show with professional partner Nadiya Bychkova but the pair were eliminated during the results show on Sunday (29.09.24) after competing against pop singer Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones in the bottom two.
Following his elimination, Tom told host Tess Daly: “I’ve had the best time the last few weeks and getting to work with Nadiya has been incredible. I wish I could have gone further and done more dances.
“I’ve had the most fun and I wish we could keep going longer and longer. We’ll still go out for loads of brunches I’m sure.”
Tom and Nadiya performed their Cha Cha to ‘Boogie Wonderland’ by Earth, Wind and Fire then Toyah and Neil performed their Jive to ‘Nutbush City Limits’ by Ike and Tina Turner.
Judges Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse both chose to save Toyah and Neill, whilst Anton Du Beke chose to save Tom and Nadiya which meant that head judge Shirley Ballas had the deciding vote.
She opted to save Toyah and Neil, meaning that they will perform again when the show returns next Saturday.
Nadiya said: “To get to know him, he’s not just a three-time Olympic champion he’s a true gentleman and he taught me how to work really hard and how to put everything in. And you know what? On this programme, sometimes to win, you don’t need to win, and that’s how I feel this year.”
On Saturday night’s show, Toyah and Neil were at the bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 30, whilst Tom and Nadiya placed considerably higher than them with a score of 46.
‘Love Island’ star Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec topped the leaderboard with 65, edging just ahead of ‘Miranda’ actress Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, who clocked in with a score of 62.
JLS singer JB Gill and Amy Dowden managed to attain a score of 56, whilst comedian Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell matched with former ‘Coronation Street’ star Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu with a score of 52.

The remaining 14 couples will take to the dancefloor next week in a Movie Week special when ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Saturday 5 October at 6:25pm, with the results show on Sunday 6 October at 7:15pm on BBC One.

Charlotte Crosby will ‘never’ return to Geordie Shore

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Crosby has declared she will “never” return to ‘Geordie Shore’.
The 34-year-old TV star – who is currently expecting her second child with her fiancé Jake Ankers – landed the role of the Boss on an Australian spin-off series titled, ‘Aussie Shore’, has admitted being given a glimpse back into her former life made her “nostalgic” but convinced her she will not go back to the original show because she doesn’t miss the mess and the drama.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I left ‘Geordie Shore’ and didn’t want to be involved in a show where you live and breathe drama, drunkenness and arguments. I just wasn’t about that anymore.
“When I got offered to be the Boss, I thought it was a great chance to still be involved in what I love and always done, but not be fully involved …
“It was very nostalgic, every single moment I would walk in the house and there would just be mess everywhere, so many good memories would come flooding back, it was so nostalgic the whole way through.”
However, when asked if she will ever return to the show which shot her to stardom, she explained: “I’m very much never thinking that again in my life.
“It’s the very last thing I’ve thought.”
Despite leaving the cast of “Geordie Shore’, Charlotte has been busy with other TV projects documenting her life. She previously filmed ‘Charlotte in Sunderland’ for the BBC and her latest venture ‘Geordie Shore: Charlotte’s Having Another Baby’ follows her second pregnancy.
It is already filming and is due to air next year.
The new show is made by the same team behind her previous reality series ‘The Charlotte Show’.
Jaime Brannan – who produced ‘The Charlotte Show’ – said of the new series: “We’re delighted to be continuing our longstanding relationship with Charlotte and bringing fans exclusive access to this exciting next chapter in her family’s life.”

Samuel L. Jackson thought Marvel’s ‘nine-picture contract’ was ‘kinda crazy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Samuel L. Jackson thought it was “kinda crazy” when he was given a “nine-picture contract” with Marvel.
The 75-year-old actor has played Nick Fury, the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D, in 11 Marvel Cinematic Universe films, starting with 2008’s ‘Iron Man’, and has admitted he didn’t think it would be possible to make nine movies, let alone the two extra movies and a handful of TV shows and video games for the money-spinning franchise.
He told GQ: “I knew I had a nine-picture deal.
“When Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] said that, ‘We’re gonna offer you a nine-picture deal.
“How long I gotta stay alive to make nine movies?
“It’s not the quickest process in the world, people don’t do it. I didn’t know they were going to make nine movies in like two and a half years. It’s kinda crazy, like, Oh s***, I’m using up my contracts! But it worked out.”
Samuel – who last played the character in 2023’s ‘The Marvels’ – previously admitted that because he has been playing the role for so many years, he knows how the character should be portrayed, despite writers sometimes telling him to play it like some of his previous “smart a**” characters.”
He told Collider: ” I’ve been doing Nick Fury for so long, I know what he sounds like and I know how he thinks and how he feels. I know writers sit at home and write. If the writer is a fan of that kind of thing – the superhero genre – they know how to do it. I’ve had directors who have written comic books, so when they say, ‘Say it the way I wrote it,” you can go, ‘Okay, so we’re doing comic book speak.’ Then, I’ll have directors who’ll say, ‘Say it like Nick Fury would say it!’ or Say it like you as Nick Fury would say it’ which means, ‘Say it like Jules [from ‘Pulp Fiction’]or Ordell ([from ‘Jackie Brown’], or any of those smart-a** characters that you’ve played before..”

David Corenswet’s pants didn’t fit after bulking up to play Superman

OHMYGOSSIP — David Corenswet didn’t fit into any of his pants after bulking up to play Superman.
The 31-year-old actor plays the title role in ‘Superman’ – director James Gunn’s new take on the comic book hero – and he has revealed he struggled to fit into his clothes after he gained weight to portray the Man of Steel.
During an appearance on the ‘Manly Things (Sort Of)’ podcast, Corenswet explained: “I wasn’t 238 [pounds] when we started shooting. I was 238 at my max.
“It was so awesome, I wanna go back. I put on like one of those crew neck sweatshirts … Champion. And I put on one of those sweatshirts – like an XL or double XL – and I was like, ‘I fill this out. This is amazing’. I didn’t fit into any of my pants.”
The actor explained he actually lost weight before shooting started, adding: “That was at the peak of my bulk. And then I slowly lost weight before we started shooting. I started shooting at about 228, 230 …
“I know I wanted this to be my excuse to see what it felt like to gain essentially as much weight as I could.”
However, he admitted he “didn’t feel great” at his heaviest because his body hadn’t adjusted to carrying so much extra weight.
In the new film, Corenswet plays Superman/Clark Kent with Nicholas Hoult as villain Lex Luther.
It’s due for release in July 2025, and director Gunn recently expressed his gratitude for the “journey” in an emotional message posted on Instagram.
Gunn wrote: “And that’s a wrap. God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life.
“I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much. And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis on the set has inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It has been an honour.”
The moviemaker added: “The destination has been ‘Superman’, but the journey has been the toil and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and magic we’ve shared together on set – and for that I am forever grateful.”

Dan Walker brands Tom Dean’s week-one Strictly elimination ‘a bit messed up’

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Dan Walker has branded Tom Dean’s week-one elimination “a bit messed up”.
The Olympic swimmer and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova were the first couple to leave this year’s series of the BBC One Latin and ballroom show after competing against singer Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones in the bottom two on Sunday night’s (29.09.24) results show.
And journalist Dan – who finished in fifth place with Nadiya in 2021 – has been left puzzled as to why he lost the dance off, as on Saturday night’s (28.09.24) show, Toyah and Neil were at the bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 30, whilst Tom and Nadiya placed considerably higher than them with a score of 46.
Reacting to the result, the Classic FM host wrote on Instagram: “What just happened on Strictly feels a bit messed up.
“@tomdean00’s departure will go down as one of THE early shocks. Lovely bloke who really could have become a great dancer. He looked like he was loving every second of it and @nadiyabychkova looked like she loved teaching him.
“I’m not an expert – and I’m happy for someone to explain – but can’t work out how he lost that dance-off. Genuinely thought they could have gone a long way.”
Nadiya is “devastated” they were voted out so soon as she believes Tom would have “had a brilliant Strictly story”.
She penned on Instagram: “I want to say thank you for all the amazing messages tonight.
“Tom had so much to give and I had so much I wanted to teach him. His improvement in the last 2 weeks has been incredible and I think, actually I know, he could have become a brilliant dancer.
“I’m devastated that you won’t get to see that.
“My 3-time Olympic Champion was an amazing student and is a wonderful gentleman. He will go on to bigger and better things and I know this year he could have had a brilliant Strictly story.
“I love this show and I want to wish the other couples all the best and I’m sure it’s going to be a great series.
“Thank you for your kindness.”
Tom himself admitted it had been a “whirlwind” and he is “so gutted” it’s over already.
He wrote in his own post: “The journey may have ended a little earlier than I hoped and of course I am so gutted, but I’m so grateful for all the amazing people I met, people I’ll be cheering on throughout and who I know will continue to smash it.”

Georgia Harrison reveals near-death experience on Celebrity SAS: ‘I almost drowned…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Harrison “almost drowned” on ‘Celebrity SAS: ‘Who Dares Wins’.
The 29-year-old reality star is currently on screens competing on the tough military-style challenge show on Channel 4 and during one particular mission thought she was in grave danger.
She told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “I almost drowned.
“As the water hits you, it’s so cold . . .  It’s like your whole body just wants air and it wants to get out.”
The former ‘Love Island’ star worried about her breathing amid the ordeal but when trainer Jason Fox flew to her rescue, she ended up kicking him right in the face because she was so determined to win.
She said: “When I finally managed to get myself out the seat, my life-jacket got caught  . . . I could feel myself getting to the point of, ‘It’s actually worrying that I’m losing breath in the way I am’.
“So they sent Foxy down to try and rescue me. And my reaction was that I wanted to win so much that I kicked him in the face!”
However, Georgia did note that she was rather taken with some of the ripped directing staff as she joked that she “wouldn’t have minded” any of them trying to revive her in an emergency.
She said: “The DS, they’re all quite easy on the eye. I wouldn’t mind any of them giving me mouth-to-mouth.”
Georgia features on the show alongside her fellow Islander Ovie Soko and she recently insisted she wasn’t “playing up to the cameras” despite what he may think.
Speaking to her ‘Celebrity SAS’ co-star Bobby Norris on Fubar Radio, she said: “I felt like I got along really well with him on the way out there, and to be honest, I liked him throughout the whole experience.
“I genuinely didn’t realise that he didn’t like me until the last day, and even then, looking back, I thought maybe it was just because the situation was starting to get a bit of a struggle for him and I felt that maybe he was just using that as an out. But apparently, he just genuinely doesn’t like me.
“I wasn’t playing up to the cameras. I think after about a day of being there, you forget the cameras are there, and all you want to do is survive.
“It’s a shame that he has that opinion of me. And I genuinely from the bottom of my heart quite liked him and still do.”
