‘He’s free to speak!’ Phillip Schofield slams rumours that he paid off younger male colleague

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield has insisted that the young male runner he had an affair with is “free to speak”.
The 61-year-old star quit his role as presenter on ‘This Morning’ last week amid rumours of a feud with co-host Holly Willoughby shortly before he confirmed having an extramarital affair with a young runner who worked on the show but has now slammed rumours that he had kept him quiet with injunctions and a payoff.
Speaking in his first television interview since his exit from ITV, he told the BBC: “I was asked that earlier on – did I make him sign a nondisclosure agreement? No. Absolutely not. No, [he wasn’t paid off]. He’s free to speak but what he wants is all of this to go away. He wants a quiet life. He didn’t want any of this to happen in the first place and I’m sure he completely regrets it. It was my fault, so he has nothing to regret because it was my fault. When the rumours started and then it came to light, both of us said ‘What the hell is this?’ and I said ‘It’ll go away’ but then it started to grow legs and it got bigger and bigger. There was a superinjunction, it was said. It was said that I’d got him fired, all completely untrue.”
“I spoke to him the night before I came out and he said ‘That’s amazing, I hope it goes okay.’ He would never have outed me.”
The former ‘Dancing On Ice’ host went on to add that the lie got “too big” for the pair of them and insisted he has had to speak out for the young man’s mental health but noted that the investigation ITV claim to have carried out in 2020.
He added: “It got too big. The lie got too big for us. It just got enormous. It was growing and growing and growing and it crossed over from online to mainstream and that had to stop, for his mental health, it had to stop. I think if you have two people who are lying, then what can you do? He was asked quite a bit, I was asked a couple of times and it wasn’t formal but I think, bearing in mind that there were two people who are absolutely intransigent in their denial, that it would have been pretty hard. He didn’t ever want his name out there, he just wanted it all to go away.”
“I am unaware of any of that. All I see is angry people shouting about a show they’re not on anymore. I know what the issues are with two principal people, I don’t like toxicity. From my point of view, and I think Holly would exactly the say the same, that is utterly untrue. If there was toxicity between two members of the team and they had beef with one another, that is nothing to do with us. The programme I love and the programme that I left, I have never seen that from my position. Or heard it, in fact. ”
Phillip – who has daughters Molly, 30, and 27-year-old Ruby with now-estranged wife Stephanie Lowe – added that he messaged Holly on the day he announced he was stepping down from ‘This Morning’ and reiterated that while the relationship may have been consensual, it was still a “grave error” on his part.
He added: “I WhatsApped Holly on the day that I put the statement up. And I said ‘I know you can’t reply, you’re probably not allowed to but please know that I am so desperately, desperately sorry. I adore Holly. I’ve always adored Holly, she’s my TV sister. From my point of view, I don’t have a problem with Holly at all. I would say to everyone, I would say to my family, my friends, my work colleagues, the public, to ITV, to my management, to everyone that I lied to – I am desperately, desperately Holly. But principally, I would like to apologise to him. It may have been consensual, it may have been fully legal but I shouldn’t have allowed it to happen and that was a grave, grave error on my part. And I know that because of that, an absolutely innocent person is being persecuted.

‘I will never forgive myself’ Phillip Schofield issues apology to younger male colleague

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield will “never forgive himself” for having an affair with a younger male colleague.
The 61-year-old star – who has daughters Molly, 30, and 27-year-old Ruby with wife Stephanie Lowe – stepped down from his long-running presenting role on ‘This Morning’ last week amid rumours of a feud with co-star Holly Willoughby but he soon confirmed that he had had an affair with a young runner on the show before he came out live on air in February 2020 and has now described the whole scandal as his “sorriest secret.”
Speaking in his first televised interview since quitting ITV, he told the BBC: “This was my biggest, sorriest secret. [Steph and I] are separated but we’re very much together. Oh my God, can you imagine how difficult that conversation was? I will never…let’s just say that it was an incredibly difficult conversation.
“The most difficult conversation I have ever had to have and she is extremely disappointed because I lied to her but she wished me well today. My daughters were – I called them and I said I had something to tell them. They came to see me and they were unbelievable and I looked at them and thought ‘Well you got that right.’ They don’t think I’m a bully, they don’t think I’m toxic. And they know the man I am, they know I screwed up, Royally.
“To him [the young man in question], I am the most sorry. By getting involved with me, I have caused you so much pain, and I…I will never forgive myself.”
The former ‘Dancing on Ice’ host went on to add that he made a “bad judgment call” and thinks that things could have turned out “very differently” for everyone involved had he chosen not to act.
He added: “I made a bad judgment call. And that if only you knew, in one moment, if I’d had the judgment I’d had for 41 years, if I’d used it in that moment, things would be very different for everybody.”

‘I’d have set fire to Liz’s wardrobe!’ Beverley Callard reveals why she left Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Beverley Callard “hates” the issue-led nature of the storylines on ‘Coronation Street’.
The 66-year-old actress starred as street siren Liz McDonald in the ITV1 soap opera for 30 years but quit the show in 2019 and claimed she was promioted to quit her signature role because the scripts had declined since she began all those years earlier.
Speaking on the ‘How to Be 60’ podcast, she told Kaye Adams and Karen McKenzie: “I just felt that the scripts weren’t what they used to be. I’m trying to be diplomatic. I wasn’t miserable, it’s difficult to put into words. But years ago, we used to get the script and you’d think ‘Oh my God, this is amazing, I cannot believe I’m going to be filming this!’ but for me it got to, well, they didn’t write for me as much because I was older and that really got to me. If you’re there, you want to be busy. There’s nothing worse than being bored. And I would open the script and think ‘Well we filmed that three years ago’ and it wasn’t very exciting. The Street was originally very character-driven and story-driven and I think with a lot of television and film now it’s very issue-led. And I hate that. The Street was so much better when it was proper kitchen sink drama and about people.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’ star went on to add that she stopped feeling the “buzz” she had always felt for the job and joked that had she chosen to keep Liz’s wardrobe – which famously consisted of short skirts, leather and leopard print – she would have “set fire” to it and no longer feels the pressure to get made up before she goes out in public.
She added: “I felt it was time for me to go because it didn’t give me the buzz I’d always had. I loved my time there and I’ve got the dearest friends there. Certainly, at times you spend more time with the people you work with than you do with your family. I had a great life in there but for me it was just time to go. I didn’t want to have to set my alarm for five o’clock every morning. I am not a morning person! I wanted to have late nights if I wanted to. I used to do that in the early days of ‘Coronation Street’ but that’s the thing about being over 60, your hangovers last so much longer!”
“I will never retire but now I have the choice, which is great. The day I handed my notice in I was thinking if I was doing the right thing, but now I know I did do the right thing. Completely liberating and I’m much more relaxed as a person. I don’t have to get dressed up or put a face full of makeup on to go to the supermarket. I don’t care anymore. If I’d taken Liz’s clothes, I’d have set fire to them!”

Louise Minchin was told to ‘find another job’ by the BBC when she asked for child-friendly hours

OHMYGOSSIP — Louise Minchin was told to “find another job” by the BBC when she asked for more child-friendly hours.
The 54-year-old presenter is married to investor David Minchin and has daughters Mia, 21, as well as 18-year-old Scarlett with him but claimed that whilst she was working on BBC Radio 5 Live shortly after the birth of eldest, she tried to ask the broadcaster to cut her hours but was told that would not be possible.
Speaking on the ‘Dirty Mother Pukka’ podcast: “I was working on 5 Live, I was doing an evening shift, I was working on something called Sport on 5, I think I did it five days a week.
“I had to be in at 2pm or 4pm and I was working until midnight.
“My husband didn’t have a job at the time because he was setting up a company, I was the only person that was going to bring money.
“I went back, I may have still been breastfeeding … I was just getting through, I was feeling very anxious and overwhelmed.
“I asked: ‘Could you maybe take my hours down a bit? Or could I maybe just do one day a week less?’
“They said: ‘No, you have to do that or you have to find another job.’”
The former BBC Breakfast host – who stepped down from the broadcaster’s flagship morning programme in 2021 after 20 years on the sofa – went on to add that she walked out of the radio job because she felt the treatment was unacceptable and felt “brilliant” in doing so.
She added: “I did leave …. It felt brilliant. I thought this is not acceptable, and I’m not going to accept it.”

Steven Yeun doesn’t want to complicate Thunderbolts role

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Yeun is trying to simplify his role in ‘Thunderbolts’.
The 39-year-old actor is set to have a significant part in the forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) picture but explained that he doesn’t want to be weighed down with the expectation of being a leading man in a superhero blockbuster.
Steven told The Hollywood Reporter: “Sometimes I’ll have conversations with friends who are like, ‘Do you know what you’re doing?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, we’re making a movie.’ And they’re like, ‘Do you know what you’re doing?’
“I try not to take that in because I think that’s the trap. The trap is to look at that thing in the context of how society might view that thing. In the immediate, I’m just making a movie. Putting it out is a whole other thing that I’m going to have to prepare for afterwards.”
Steven explained that the chance to feature in an MCU film arose as he had worked with director Jake Schreier on the Netflix dark comedy series ‘Beef’.
He said: “Yeah, Jake Schreier, who did episodes of ‘Beef’, got the gig to direct (‘Thunderbolts’) and then he saw me for this role and I read the role and I was like, ‘This is actually a really interesting role, I’d be down to explore this.’
“I think it’s less about now checking things off a bucket list and more looking at an experience.”
Steven said earlier this year that joining the MCU wasn’t in his plans but the opportunity to work with Schreier again tempted him to sign up for the flick.
Steven told Empire magazine: “I don’t know if it was explicitly on my bucket list. It was more the story, getting to work with Jake Schreier again, who directed ‘Beef’, and what his intentions were.”

Robert De Niro in the dark about Martin Scorsese’s Jesus film

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert De Niro is unsure if he will star in Martin Scorsese’s film about Jesus Christ.
The legendary director announced recently that he would be making a movie about Jesus after meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican but De Niro is uncertain as to how he would be able to fit into the project.
Speaking to Variety, the ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ actor said: “I don’t know who I’d play. He might – if he asked me, at the end of the day, I don’t know.
“I don’t know what will happen. He (Scorsese) knows, he’ll think of something for me that I would do.”
Scorsese, 80, has lamented how he is running out of time to make more films and De Niro can understand why the ‘Goodfellas’ director doesn’t want to squander the chance to tell the stories that appeal to him.
The 79-year-old actor explained: “Marty is very concerned about time, as he should be. More so, say than me. I’m an actor, basically. So I can do more things in the time that – I don’t want to say (the time that) ‘I have left’, but I have to say it like that.
“Marty also – he said the other day in Cannes – he only has so much time. So when he does a project, it’s a couple of years. So every one is very, very important. So that could be his.
“He hasn’t told me anything about it, but it doesn’t mean…”
Scorsese suggested that his advancing years makes it harder for him to make movies even though his imagination is as vibrant as ever.
He said: “I wish I could take a break for eight weeks and make a film at the same time.
“The whole world has opened up to me, but it’s too late. It’s too late. I’m old. I read stuff. I see things. I want to tell stories, and there’s no more time.”

BBC’s I Kissed a Boy announces reunion special

OHMYGOSSIP — BBC’s ‘I Kissed a Boy’ has announced a special reunion episode.
The UK”s first-ever gay dating show, fronted by Dannii Minogue, debuted earlier this month and is already drawing to a close as the finale is set to air this weekend.
The reunion special, which has been confirmed for the following Sunday (10.05.23), will see Dannii “get the latest goss from the boys” including their love life and newfound fame, as well as celebrate the shows greatest moments before diving deep into the drama.
Ahead of the shows launch earlier in May, Danii questioned the lack of LGBTQ+ dating shows, calling ‘I Kissed a Boy’ the antidote to Love Island’s biggest problem.
She told Radio Times: “I think so many people have been wanting a gay dating show. There are so many comments that I’ve read over the years – ‘Our brand of dating show, it’s not going to include that, it’s never gonna happen.’ It’s confusing to me why so many people are asking for it but then nobody was making this show.”
The ‘I Begin to Wonder’ hitmaker went on to add that she had never been asked to do such a show before and believes that there was a strong appetite for a gay dating series but it just hadn’t happened.
She said: “I actually got asked: ‘Had you been asked to do a lot of other shows like this and this was the first one you said yes to?’ and I was like: ‘No, this is the first time that’s ever come up.’ So I think a lot of people wanted it, but it just wasn’t happening.”
‘I Kissed a Boy: The Reunion’ airs on Sunday, June 11 at 6am on BBC iPlayer and 9pm on BBC Three.

Love Island’s Ellie Spence reveals she almost died after impaling herself

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ star Ellie Spence “almost died” after impaling herself.
The 25-year-old influencer, who appeared on the ninth series of the ITV dating show, shared graphic images of her injury after her leg was nearly torn off following a drunken night out.
Taking to Instagram Ellie uploaded a few bikini snaps that displayed her scar, as well as pictures of her stitches following surgery, alongside a lengthy post.
Recalling the harrowing moment she almost died as she was just a “tiny tear” away from bleeding out, she wrote: “Around this time just before summer when I was 18, I impaled myself on a steel speared gate and almost accidentally killed myself.
“I’d just finished my A level exams and me and one of my best friends Livvy went out on a night out, we got back to her house in the early hours of the morning and the gate in front of her house was locked.
“After climbing the gate and reaching the top, I put my foot on the bar in-between the spears, my foot slipped and one of the spears impaled me directly in the joint of my leg.
“I somehow spun around and found myself hanging backwards off the gate, 10ft in the air.”
Immobilised by the pain and hanging on by a thread with blood gushing down her leg, Ellie knew at that moment she was going to die.
Adding: “I could barely get my words out from the pain and panic I was in and Livvy had no idea I was impaled.
“After 10 minutes of miscommunicating with each other in complete darkness, my leg had torn from the very front of my joint to the back of my bum.
“I started to pass out from the pain, loss of blood and mentally coming to terms with the fact I just knew I was about to die.
“I gave up and hung in silence and after a few minutes I suddenly heard a voice screaming in my ear to get up, get up, get up repeatedly (I didn’t recognise the voice) and I saw a bright white light (FYI I am not an overly spiritual person so this is still crazy to me to this day) I then immediately woke up and out of nowhere started perfectly directing Livvy and she thankfully got me off the gate.”
Ellie was told on her way to the hospital that she was on the brink of death.
She said: “I was rushed to hospital and told I was 3mm away from my main artery so just one more tiny tear I would have bled out and died hanging on the gate. Livvy is my real life angel and she saved my life that day.”

Natalie Imbruglia reveals if she would go back to Neighbours

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Imbruglia would “never say never” to the idea of a ‘Neighbours’ return.
The 48-year-old star got her big break playing Beth Brennan in the Australian soap opera in the early 1990s before carving out a career as a pop singer but made a return to the show’s finale in 2022 alongside other famous faces such as Holly Candy and Kylie Minogue but had no idea the series would be revived by Amazon Freevee later this year and would consider going back, especially since Hollywood actor Guy Pearce has confirmed that he will be returning to the show.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’, she said: “I hope so, Guy’s phenomenal. Never say never, they haven’t approached me but Guy Pearce is going back then I’d love to do something with Guy. I wonder if we knew when they shot that it was coming back, we didn’t know anything about this re-emergence of ‘Neighbours.’
“But it was actually Holly Candy who said ‘Are you doing this thing?’ and I said ‘I will if you will.’ We weren’t even on the show together so it was so fun to do with her and obviously, it made no sense but it was the final episode and it was just about saying thank you to the show because that’s where my career started.”
The ‘Torn’ hitmaker went on to add that while in the US the soap opera is not very well known, she was once surprised to find the show playing in Nigeria.
She added: Natalie Imbruglia reveals if she would go back to Neighbours”When I was in America songwriting, ‘and they didn’t know what ‘Neighbours’ was so that was that experience but then I had an experience where I was in Nigeria in a hotel room and ‘Neighbours’ came on and I rang my mum and said ‘This show is everywhere!’ I think in the UK, they know me for both, which is lovely.”

‘We feel used!’ Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford ’embarrassed’ over Schofield ‘cover-up’

OHMYGOSSIP — Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford feel “embarrassed” about having to help Phillip Schofield come out as gay as a “cover-up” on ‘This Morning.’
The married presenting duo had been due to present their usual Friday slot of the daytime magazine show in February 2020 when they were alerted that regular presenters Phillip Schofield – who recently quit his role after 20 years before admitting that he had had an affair with a younger male colleague – and Holly Willoughby would be appearing that day to make an on-air announcement.
Speaking on GB News’ ‘Dan Wooton Tonight’, he said: “So I’m driving in and they say ‘Phillip will be arriving to appear on the programme today’ and I said ‘Oh why’ and they said ‘We can’t tell you. Holly will be coming in as well. You will be hosting bits of the programme but they have got something to say.’
“He comes into our dressing room and falls down on his knees crying. He cries ‘I’m gay!’ and I said ‘Is that all?!’ I stood him up and said ‘What are you talking about? So you’re gay?’ We were very supportive, Ruth hugged him and we said we’d stand by him so it wouldn’t enter our mind that he would be discriminated against. We were very supportive.
Oh boy, were we used! We went to the studio and Miss Holly took over with a prepared statement.
“Holly, who is supposed to be dyslexic, she read this incredibly long statement very very well.”
Eamonn – who left his role at ‘This Morning’ in November 2020 whilst Ruth continues to anchor fellow ITV Daytime show ‘Loose Women’ on a regular basis – went on to claim that bosses of the show wanted to prepare a statement for Ruth to read out on air but she declined and in light of recent revelations now admitted that he and his wife still feel “ashamed” when they see pictures from that day in 2020 as he claimed that ITV had staged the whole thing as a “cover-up” for Phillip’s affair when so many are “tortured by their coming out.
So they knew in advance, they’re the same agents as we are but we were not informed of this in advance so we are taken for fools. And Ruth is constantly asked by Emma Gormley, the director of daytime and Martin Frizell the editor of the programme ‘Right, do you want us to write something for you?’ So we began to feel there was a certain line being patted here, Ruth adlibbed without any autocue or anything. I don’t say anything in the opener. Ruth says what she has to say and then it goes to those two. Knowing how false they are, I’m sure it was rehearsed for days.”
“Ruth and I, to this day, are embarrassed and ashamed when we see those pictures. We see people who are tortured by their sexuality and what they have to go through, and this man used it as a cover-up for something else that doesn’t reflect well on him. We feel angry about that. We feel used.”
Last week, Phillip – who has daughters Molly, 30, and Ruby, 27, with estranged wife Stephanie Lowe – recently explained he was “deeply sorry” for lying but insisted that his relationship with his colleague was “unwise but not illegal.”
In a confessional statement, Phillip told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I am making this statement via the Daily Mail to whom I have already apologised personally for misleading, through my lawyer who I also misled, about a story which they wanted to write about me a few days ago.
“The first thing I want to say is: I am deeply sorry for having lied to them, and to many others about a relationship that I had with someone working on ‘This Morning’.
“I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at ‘This Morning’.
“Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship.
“That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over.”

‘They treat you like you’re nothing!’ Jodie Marsh recalls ‘crude’ This Morning interview

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Marsh has claimed that Phillip Schofield was “vile” towards her on ‘This Morning.’
The 44-year-old ex-glamour model was appearing on the ITV Daytime show in 2016 to discuss her decision to freeze her eggs in the hopes of having children in the future but has now said that Phillip – who stepped down from his hosting role after 20 years amid rumours of a feud with co-host Holly Willoughby and shortly after admitted that he had had an extramarital affair with a younger male colleague – turned the whole interview into being about her sex life as she branded the TV pair as “vile and rude.”
Speaking on ‘The Independent Republic of Mike Graham’ on TalkTV, she said: “I was tweeting about this years ago, I mean – years ago, saying that there was something wrong and I got abuse for it. Everybody seemed to think because I was on there one time with lipstick on my teeth and Phil and Holly didn’t tell me I had lipstick on my teeth. So they let me do the whole interview looking stupid, basically. Now everybody thinks that my grudge with them is because of lipstick gate, it’s because both of them are vile and rude. Both of them, Holly included.
“So the last time I was on ‘This Morning’, I was on to talk about freezing my eggs as an older woman who was single – I am still single – if I wanted to have a child, obviously I don’t have a partner. It’s a very serious and emotional topic and Phil spent the whole interview grilling me my exes and sex, to talk about all the different sex I’d had and how many people I’d slept with. All sorts of nasty stuff about sex and it was just vile. I came off wanting to cry and be sick. I’d gone on there to talk about freezing my eggs and he belittled the whole thing and made the whole interview really crude.”
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star – who has now stepped away from showbusiness and runs Fritz Farm Animal Sanctuary in Essex – went on to claim that she was treated as if she was “nothing” on the set of the show and used to “hate” going on it.
“What I’ve also seen over the years, and I have been on the show many, times, is that neither Holly or Phil are nice at all to you unless you can do something for them. So unless you’re bigger than they are, like a Hollywood A-list star, they won’t be nice to you. You don’t see them until you’re sitting on the sofa and if you do happen to pass them in the hallway, then they won’t even say hello to you. They treat you like you’re nothing.
“I used to hate going on ‘This Morning’. I did it at the time because I was promoting various things . I used to get probably £500 a time but certainly not in cash. It was to promote whatever I was doing but a couple of times they had me on as sort of like a roving reporter to talk about news events and my agent at the time said it was a really good thing but nobody spoke to me before, nobody spoke to me afterwards.”

‘I’ll never forget it!’ Dame Arlene Phillips recalls stranger’s act of kindness when growing up poor

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Arlene Phillips will “never forget” the kindness shown by a stranger when she was a child.
The 80-year-old choreographer remembered a time when she was growing up with her sister and they both wanted plastic watches in Woolworths but their mother had to explain tha they couldn’t afford them and was “shocked” when a woman overheard the conversation and bought the watches for them.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Fabulous magazine: “I remember going to Woolworths with my mum. They had one counter with little plastic watches, with paper faces. Me and my sister wanted those watches so badly. They were sixpence each at the time, which wasn’t very much, but Mum said, ‘Sorry darling, we can’t afford to buy them’.
“In a shocking moment, a woman standing nearby bought the watches for us. My sister and I have never forgotten that. It’s always stuck in my mind to give when you can.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge – who has Alana, 42, from a previous relationship and 32-year-old Abi with husband Angus Ion – is now backing The Sun’s Baby Bank on Us Campaign in partnership with Save the Children, Little VIllages and various baby banks amid the cost-of-living crisis and went on to explain that the Woolworths encounter made her realise how much she wants to help others.
She added: “I totally want to give back, to think about charity as part of my life. My granddaughters are aged two and four and the loves of my life. My daughters have been taught to always give if you can afford it. Parents are ground down all the time, another and then another bill comes in then suddenly you’re lost, absolutely lost. I saw this as a child. It is important that helping one another becomes a big message that we cannot ignore.”

Sarah Beeny: I lived in fear of cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Beeny said she “lived in fear” of breast cancer.
The 51-year-old presenter, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last August, was given the all-clear from the disease in April.
Appearing on BBC’s ‘The One Show’ to discuss her new Channel 4 documentary ‘Sarah Beeny v Cancer’, the property expert told the hosts she always lived in fear growing up after her mother died from the disease when she was a child.
She said: “When I got to 39, which is the age she died, I thought ‘Here we are.’ And then I got to 40 and thought, that’s weird!
“And then I got to 50 and got the diagnosis.
“I’ve lived with this fear for such a long time. But once I realised how the treatment works, it’s not nearly as bad as the fear.”
Fearing death, Sarah underwent a double mastectomy after her diagnosis.
The mother-of-four has been open about her battle with the disease and embraced the hair loss by shaving off her hair. The presenter took a candid snapshot showcasing the reality of living with cancer and having to draw on eyebrows.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine last month, Sarah told Christine Lampard that it was good to be given the all-clear but admitted that it felt weird.
She said: “It’s good but it’s weird, the doctors sort of kind of go ‘oh right that’s it then, that’s the end of that’ and you’re like, ‘how do you know?’ Then they go, we don’t but we think so.
“It’s an ongoing thing. I have to take drugs for years and be very vigilant. It’s been a kind of weird ride.”

Indiana Jones immortalised with bronze Leicester Square statue

OHMYGOSSIP — Indiana Jones is to be immortalised with a bronze statue in Leicester Square this summer.
Harrison Ford’s archaeologist is often regarded as one of the greatest movie characters in history and becomes the latest addition to the ‘Scenes of the Square’ statue trail.
To celebrate Indy’s return in ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’, which will be released in UK cinemas on June 28, the statue will bring to life the moment when he first donned the whip and fedora in the 1981 film ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’.
Indy will become the jewel in the crown of the Leicester Square attraction as he joins the likes of Harry Potter, Batman and Mary Poppins on the popular free London entertainment trail.
The addition of the new statue was announced on Wednesday (31.05.23) to coincide with a celebration of the Steven Spielberg and George Lucas picture ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ with a special screening at the Vue cinema in Leicester Square to mark the arrival of the ‘Indiana Jones’ collection on Disney+.
The statue has been teased with a mysterious crate labelled ‘PROPERTY OF DR. H JONES’, mirroring the wooden case containing the Ark of the Covenant from the original Indy movie alongside the character’s signature whip and fedora.
Mark Williams, Director of Destination for Heart of London Business Alliance, said: “We are beyond thrilled to welcome Indiana Jones to the Scenes in the Square trail, honouring the character’s major part in cinema history since 1981 and cementing Harrison Ford’s status as a movie icon.
“The dynamic statue trail is a true celebration of entertainment and there are few more worthy inclusions than the legendary Indiana Jones. Taking pride of place on Leicester Square’s bustling north terrace, Indy promises to be a hugely popular addition to the Square that is soon to host its third Indiana Jones premiere, further cementing his legacy in movie history.”

Sam Hargrave has ideas for Extraction 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Hargrave is looking ahead to ‘Extraction 3’.
The stuntman turned director is back behind the camera on the Netflix action sequel ‘Extraction 2’ and confirmed that a third story is in place as long as people enjoy the second film featuring Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake.
Sam told BroBible: “We’re kind of waiting to see how the second movie is received. Fingers crossed, if people enjoy the second one, there already is – and this is without spoiling anything – but there is a story in development for a third movie in the works. What it is exactly, I can’t say right now, but I believe there is another adventure in the wind for Tyler Rake.”
Chris confirmed last year that he would be taking a break from acting after discovering he has a higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and Hargrave is happy to put production on hold until the ‘Thor’ star feels ready to return.
The filmmaker said: “He is taking a step back to spend more time with his family because he is a family man and that’s very important to him, and enjoy the life that he’s earned.
“But the desire to take this character as far as it can go, and the fact that he has a franchise outside of the Marvel universe I think are two things that are very enticing to Chris.”
Sam continued: “Because to be heading a franchise that has the emotional core and depth that Tyler Rake does, and still have the globe-trotting, action grittiness to it – I think those two are pretty cool characteristics and I think her recognises that. So when we spoke, yes, he said he would be interested in perhaps reprising the role.”

Robert Englund is ‘too old and thick’ to play Freddy Krueger

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Englund is “too old” to play Freddy Krueger again.
The horror icon has played the ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ serial killer in eight films but argues that his advancing years mean that he is unable to return as the child killer who terrorises his victims through their dreams.
Speaking to Variety ahead of the release of the documentary, ‘Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story’, the 75-year-old actor said: “I’m too old and thick to play Freddy now. I just can’t do fight scenes for more than one take anymore, I’ve got a bad neck and bad back and arthritis in my right wrist. So I have to hang it up, but I would love to cameo.”
Robert tipped Kevin Bacon to play Freddy in a future ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ project as he has the physicality to take on the blade-fingered villain.
The star said: “I know he respects the genre, and he’s such a fine physical actor. I think that in the silences and in the way Kevin moves – it would be interesting.”
Despite ruling out another appearance as Freddy, Robert does have ideas on how to bring the antagonist into the modern world.
He explained: “You’d have to deal with technology and culture. For instance, if one of the girls was an influencer, it would be interesting to somehow haunt her subconscious and manifest himself, perhaps exploit everybody that followed her.”
Freddy is one of the most popular horror villains in Hollywood history and Robert reflected on how appreciation for the genre has increased since he first played the part in 1984.
He said: “I felt there was a cultural shift that people recognised. Horror is the punk rock of cinema in its own way. There was a recognition of pulp as a great ingredient in our cultural world. There’s room for pulp and melodrama, and the door opened wider for horror.”
