Connie Nielsen thinks ‘it’s crazy’ Wonder Woman 3 isn’t happening

OHMYGOSSIP — Connie Nielsen thinks “it’s crazy” a third ‘Wonder Woman’ movie isn’t in the works.
The 59-year-old actress played Queen Hippolyta in the Gal Gadot-starring DC film and its 2020 sequel ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, and has admitted she’s shocked studio heads James Gunn and Peter Safran aren’t moving ahead with another instalment in the franchise after the series proved to be a box office hit.
She told Den of Geek: “I think it’s crazy. I mean, frankly, I don’t understand it.
“[‘Wonder Woman’] made $800 million just in the movie theaters, and it has an enormous and passionate, passionate fan base. These are spectacular films, and there’s just no reason I can understand whatsoever for not investing in that.
“If I were a business person, I would say that’s money on the table. It’s right there. Plus every time we’ve done it, [it was] with budgets that were way smaller than any of the other DC budgets.”
She added: “It’s a pity. I really hope that they change their minds, and that they realize this is crazy.
“This is a billion dollars that is lying on the table. Not claiming those fans and making them happy is something I just don’t really understand at all.”
A large chunk of the first movie – which also starred Chris Pine and David Thewlis – was set on the mythical island of Themyscira, home to the female-led Amazon tribe.
The ‘Gladiator II’ star added she loved being a part of such an “insane, cool, gorgeous universe” that had some grounding in reality.
Nielsen gushed: “I loved that island, those costumes, those characters, the values that those Amazons represented.
“It was fantastic. I built that character off real historical and anthropology books on the Amazons, there’s now real DNA evidence that these Amazons really did exist, that there really were famous female warriors, and we now know that burial mounds were where those warriors were buried.
“They just assumed it was a man because of who the person was buried with. And now they realize, oh, no, DNA analysis shows they were women.”

Ncuti Gatwa preparing for third series of Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Ncuti Gatwa is returning to film a third series of ‘Doctor Who’ next year and it’s all going “well”.
The 31-year-old actor took over the lead role in the BBC sci-fi series last year replacing Jodie Whittaker and he’s revealed season two and the Christmas special are finished and ready to go – and he’ll be back for more in 2025.
During an appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Ncuti said: “It is all going well. We did the second series this year, the Christmas special is coming up, and we are filming a third series next year.”
Ncuti made his debut at the Comic Con convention in San Diego, California over the summer and actor revealed it was an “intense” experience meeting all the ‘Doctor Who’ fans.
He said: “It was incredible – it was like nerds’ Olympics. It was intense but beautiful and ‘Whovians’ are the sweetest and best fans.”
Ncuti also opened up about his next role which is very different to playing the Doctor – he’s playing snooty Algernon Moncrieff in a new production of Oscar Wilde’s play ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ at the National Theatre in London.
The actor explained rehearsals are now getting underway ahead the play’s debut in November. He said: “We started this week, and we are still sitting at a table dissecting the script. It is very silly, fun and camp – it is a traditional production infused with a modern lens.”
The play runs from November 21 until January 25 2025.
It comes after ‘Doctor Who’ boss Russell T. Davies admitted casting Ncuti in the series was a “risk” because of his busy schedule.
The actor rose to fame as Eric Effiong in ‘Sex Education’ before stepping into the TARDIS and the showrunner admitted they were restricted by his prior filming commitments, but he still feels they got the right person as the 15th Timelord.
Russell told ‘Doctor Who’ magazine: “Casting Ncuti meant casting him before he’d finished on ‘Sex Education’. That was a risk that we took, but it was absolutely the right risk, because it meant we got the best possible Doctor in 2024 that we could wish for.”
‘The Graham Norton Show’ airs on BBC One on Friday October 11 at 10.40pm and is also available on BBC iPlayer.

Miranda Hart lifts lid on Hawaiian-themed wedding

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Hart’s secret wedding was Hawaiian-themed with inflatable flamingos, coconut bowling and a steel band.
The 51-year-old TV star recently revealed she had tied the knot in secret over the summer after meeting a mystery man around two years ago – and she’s now given more details on their big day explaining it was a low-key affair for a close group of friends and family.
During an appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Miranda said: “It was a very small gathering and for no reason at all it was Hawaiian themed with inflatable flamingos, coconut bowling and a steel band.”
The actress/comedian revealed she met her husband – whose identity has been kept private – after suffering through a lonely time during the COVID-19 pandemic as she dealt with her diagnosis of Lyme disease.
She explained: “I had my diagnosis during the pandemic, and it was a very lonely time, so I decided I didn’t want to be alone anymore, so I put out this little prayer with about one per cent of hope, but I met someone and got married in July.”
Miranda opened up about her lover in her new memoir ‘I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest with You’ – referring to him as “The Boy From Bristol” and revealing he works as a building surveyor and they met when he came to look at a mould problem in her home.
In the book, she also revealed he proposed during a romantic walk in Kew Gardens. Miranda wrote: “We stood still on the bridge overlooking the lake when the silence was pierced as he rather seriously said, ‘Miranda’. I turned around and as I did he got down on one knee. ‘Miranda … ‘
“I don’t remember anything else because I simply burst out out crying, apparently saying yes before he had finished the sentence (awkward if he’d been tying a shoelace … )
“I didn’t think a traditional proposal would affect me so. But there was someone knowing all my ridiculousness and brokenness and still willing to bend down, look up and commit to loving me and standing by me for the rest of his life.”
‘The Graham Norton Show’ airs on BBC One on Friday October 11 at 10.40pm and is also available on BBC iPlayer.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead set to lead The Hand That Rocks the Cradle remake

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary Elizabeth Winstead is being eyed for a leading role in ‘The Hand That Rocks the Cradle’ remake.
The 39-year-old actress is in negotiations to star opposite Maika Monroe, 31, in the upcoming 20th Century film, which will be a new take on the 1992 thriller of the same name.
The original movie follows a woman (Rebecca De Mornay) who, after her sex-offender husband is caught in the act and takes his own life, goes on a mission of vengeance against one of his victim’s (Anabella Sciorra) and her family.
Winstead is in talks for De Mornay’s role, while Monroe will be taking on Sciorra’s part in the remake.
The picture is due to be directed by ‘Huesera: The Bone Woman’ filmmaker Michelle Garza Cervera, while ‘Homecoming’ writer Micah Bloomberg will pen the screenplay.
Winstead is best known for playing Huntress in the DC superhero blockbuster ‘Birds of Prey’ – which also starred Margot Robbie – though the movie failed to impress at the box office when it hit theatres in 2020.
As a result of its poor performance, the ‘Ahsoka’ star admitted there will likely be no sequel, even though she was contracted to reprise the role for future instalments.
She told Independent.co.uk: “I love that film, even if it’s polarising. It’s got people who love it, and people who didn’t love it so much. And it wasn’t a flop by any means, but I think it also wasn’t quite enough of a success to keep on with it.
“Which is unfortunate, because I loved playing her. But I was really thankful that I got to do something left of centre in the superhero world. We got to be a bit weird. But that also sort of explains why my movies don’t make money, because I tend to choose the weird ones.”
The ‘A Gentleman in Moscow’ star – who is married to Ewan McGregor – admitted she has never had a “good sense” of knowing what will be successful.
She said: “I’ve never had a good sense of picking projects that make money. That’s just never been how my brain works.”

First Big Brother 2024 contestant evicted

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Bradshaw has been evicted from ‘Big Brother’.
The 28-year-old marketing expert from Blackpool had been taking part in the ITV2 reality show but became the first housemate to be evicted since the new series kicked off earlier this month.
Speaking to hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best immediately after exiting the house on Friday (11.10.24) night, he said: “I am gutted to be fair. But someone’s gotta go first time, so it’s one of them.”
Ryan had been nominated for eviction against barber Dean Smith, pork salesman Nathan King, and dental assistant Rosie Williams, who changed her name to Baked Potato as part of an early challenge in the series and has been billed as such ever since.
In the first episode, Ryan was part of the blue team, who were assigned a place within the walls of the ‘Big Brother’ house itself, whilst those on the red team had to make do with accommodation in a store room.
But after losing a challenge against Martha Church, the two of them swapped places and Ryan found himself living in the storeroom alongside the rest of the red team. “I’m mesmerised to be fair. I’m obviously gutted to be out first, but it’s one of them. Someone’s gotta do it! I was buzzing [to be in the blue team] but I said that store room looked all right, so be careful what you wish for!
“It was hell in there! It was bad. I slept on like a little camp bed.”
After losing a further challenge, Ryan found himself up for and admitted that the only “saving grace” was that he hadn’t been nominated by any of his co-stars.#
He said: “I was gutted to be fair, it was a horrible feeling. The only saving grace was that it wasn’t the housemates that put me up, it was just bad decision after bad decision.”
Ryan didn’t get the chance to do any nominations because of the way things panned out, but admitted that had he been given the chance he would have nominated forensic psychologist Ali Bromley – whom he hasn’t really spoken to – and the slightly “irritating” amputee footballer Thomas Atkinson for eviction.

The ‘C’est La Vie’ hitmakers wrote: “Big congrats guys. Enjoy all the cuddles with your little angel. The love bubble is amazing.”
Former ‘TOWIE’ star Lauren Pope commented: “Awww congratulations”
In August, Megan told how she had been struggling to walk amid her pregnancy.

The former ‘TOWIE’ star attended a Taylor Swift ‘Eras Tour’ concert at Wembley Stadium in the summer, and while she had thoroughly enjoyed the show, Megan admitted the whole thing had left her “mentally and physically exhausted” because of a chauffeur booking gone wrong.

James Cameron reveals plans for more Terminator movies

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron has plans for more ‘Terminator’ movies.
The 70-year-old filmmaker – who made his directorial debut with the ‘Terminator’ franchise – has teased fans there is “more than a plan” for future ‘Terminator’ movies.
Speaking to Empire magazine, James said: “It’s more than a plan. That’s what we’re doing. That’s all I’ll say for right now.”
This news follows on from ‘The Terminator’ – which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton – celebrating its 40th anniversary year.
The ‘Titanic’ director’s involvement in any future ‘Terminator’ movies remains unclear at this time, as Cameron is busy working on the ‘Avatar’ sequels, the next of which will be released in 2025.
However, Cameron admitted it will be vital to tell new and different kinds of stories in the world of ‘The Terminator’ moving forward.
He said: “You get too inside it, and then you lose a new audience because the new audience care much less about that stuff than you think they do.
“That’s the danger, obviously, with Avatar as well, but I think we’ve proven that we have something for new audiences.
“You’ve got powerless main characters, essentially, fighting for their lives, who get no support from existing power structures, and have to circumvent them but somehow maintain a moral compass. And then you throw AI into the mix.
“Those principles are sound principles for storytelling today, right? So I have no doubt that subsequent Terminator films will not only be possible, but they’ll kick ass. But this is the moment where you jettison all the specific iconography.”
Previously, James has admitted that parts of ‘The Terminator’ are “pretty cringeworthy”.
He told the publication: “I don’t think of it as some Holy Grail, that’s for sure. I look at it now and there are parts of it that are pretty cringeworthy, and parts of it that are like, ‘Yeah, we did pretty well for the resources we had available.’
”Just the production value, you know? I don’t cringe on any of the dialogue, but I have a lower cringe factor than, apparently, a lot of people do around the dialogue that I write. You know what? Let me see your three-out-of-the-four-highest-grossing films – then we’ll talk about dialogue effectiveness.”

Saoirse Ronan felt ‘sad’ when Ryan Gosling departed 2000s movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Saoirse Ronan felt “sad” when Ryan Gosling exited ‘The Lovely Bones’.
The ‘Barbie’ actor was due to play Jack Salmon, the father of Ronan’s character Susie Salmon, in the 2009 movie, but he is said to have departed the project due to creative differences.
Ronan has now admitted she missed Gosling on set, but she understands his exit.
Speaking on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, she said: “I just loved Ryan. And his dog, George.
“I was just sad that he wasn’t gonna be around.
“But I think the reasons why they parted were totally valid.
“I have spoken to both now, and I complete – it happens, you know what I mean? It’s not personal, necessarily; it’s just sometimes you’re not on the same page.”
Mark Wahlberg replaced Gosling in the motion picture, and Ronan believes he was more experienced to portray a dad.
She said: “Mark was able to step in, and he was a father.
“He was a father to, like, I don’t know, three kids? He probably had an experience of that that Ryan felt he didn’t.”
However, Ronan did eventually get to work with Gosling in his 2014 directorial debut ‘Lost River’, which he also wrote and co-produced, and the actress admitted it was a “great” experience.
She added: “Ryan was like 27. He was young. It was great then to work with him later.
“He’s just, like, the same. He doesn’t change.”
‘Lost River’ – which told of a single mother being swept into a dark underworld – also featured Christina Hendricks, Matt Smith, Eva Mendes and Barbara Steele.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Knowles hasn’t had the all-clear yet to perform on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ this weekend, but a late decision is due to be made on Friday (11.10.24).
The ‘DIY SOS’ host had to pull out of last Saturday’s (05.10.24) Movie Week after picking up a knee injury in rehearsals, a week after he injured his arm and shoulder in a freak accident.
Now, the 62-year-old TV presenter – who is partnered with pro dancer Luba Mushtuk – admitted it is still not certain whether he will perform this week, but has been given the green light to start training again.
Speaking on Instagram he said: “So I’m behind the scenes at It Takes Two and the good news today is that the physios have cleared me to train tomorrow.
“That’s not an all clear for Saturday yet. I have to see how I get on tomorrow and then a decision will be made on Friday.
“So, obviously we’ll update you as we go along. But I just wanted to take this moment to say thank you for all the well wishes that I’ve received and encouragement from everybody. And I’m hopeful that I will be dancing on Saturday.”
Nick explained to ‘It Takes Two’ host Janette Manrara what happened during the camera tech rehearsals last week, which led to his knee injury.
He said: “We’d had a great week learning the dance and we were doing the camera tech rehearsals, where the cameras get to see how the dance works and everything.
“Very last step of the dance I was late getting to where I should and leapt to the position and my one leg stayed still and the rest of me went through.
“Had a bit of a collapse and realised it wasn’t in a good position. I hurt my knee basically.
“Each day gets a little bit better. On Friday, it looked pretty bad to be honest. Saturday was not so good but I got a scan and so we decided to wait until Monday so we could have a look at that.
“Monday was a little bit stronger and today I got the see the physios and I’ve had help from all the rehab and physio’s and doctors and they have given me clearance to try and dance tomorrow to train.”

‘It was a trip down memory lane’ Larry Lamb’s ’emotional’ Gavin and Stacey finale

OHMYGOSSIP — Larry Lamb says filming the ‘Gavin and Stacey’ finale was “so emotional”, and he has teased a “beautiful” ending to the series.
The 77-year-old actor will reprise his role as Mick Shipman in the last-ever episode of the BBC sitcom, which will air on Christmas Day (25.12.24), and Larry admitted the process was even more poignant than usual because they shot the final scenes on the last days of filming.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he said: “It was a trip down memory lane. Because suddenly there we are, and we’re facing the fact that effectively this is the end of this adventure – it’s the end of this journey and it was so emotional.
“On the last day of filming, we were filming the end of the story which is so unusual because nine times out of ten you find that you’re doing the end on the first day and you’re doing the beginning right at the end of it all.
“So what we were filming was the end of the story on the very last day and there was just this mental tick, tick, tick going on all the time and the emotions just kept building and building and building … [the ending] is just beautiful.”
‘Gavin and Stacey’ co-creators James Corden and Ruth Jones shocked the nation earlier this year by revealing the programme is to return for a finale, which will be the first episode since a 2019 Christmas special.
Larry had a “tickle” in his throat while appearing on the show, and it was later discovered by ‘GMB’ host Susanna Reid that it was down to the after-effects of the “wonderful” wrap party to mark the end of ‘Gavin and Stacey’ filming.
The ex-‘EastEnders’ star said: “Well they did have a big party and James and Ruth really pushed the boat out.
“It was a wonderful party.”
While the upcoming Christmas special has been widely billed as the last-ever episode, Larry admitted he would be up for starring in another episode.
Quizzed on whether he is “absolutely sure it’s the end”, Larry replied: “What you wanna do is you wanna get James and Ruth on here and question them because that’s where it all comes from.”
Asked if he would like to make another episode, he said: “Yeah. You become a family.”

Tommy Fury talks ‘tough’ time since Molly-Mae Hague split and discusses adding extra chapter to book

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Fury has opened up on a “very tough” couple of months following his split from Molly-Mae Hague, and insisted he will love her until the day he dies.
The 25-year-old professional boxer – who has 20-month-old daughter Bambi with his former ‘Love Island’ co-star – was grilled on ‘This Morning’ about their relationship, which ended in August after five years together.
Tommy was asked several questions about Molly on the show, which he appeared on to promote his new book ‘Lightning Can Strike Twice: My Life as a Fury’.
He recently added a last-minute chapter to the tome to address an accusation that he cheated on Molly, and he “categorically denies” playing away.
Speaking about adding an extra chapter to his new book, he told the ITV show’s co-hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley: “Like I say, I’m going to leave all that stuff for me and Molly to work through.
“Because a lot of stuff has been put out there. The whole world has seen what we’ve been going through for the last month or two months.”
When it’s suggested he “categorically denies” cheating in his book, he said: “Yeah, I added a last chapter in there and I talked about all my feelings on how I felt during this time.
“It’s all in the book and I felt freely in the book to speak, so that’s why I added the last chapter in. To keep everyone up to date.
“In there, I’ve talked about my feelings in the last two months, so you can read about it all in there.
“Me and Molly and Bambi are a family unit, and we’re going to tackle this in private.”
Quizzed about whether he wants to get back together with Molly because the pair and Bambi seem like a “wonderful team”, he said: “Yeah. Like I say, it’s my family and I love them until the day I die.
“There’s been a lot of critics out there, and there will be critics out there until the day I die.
“Everyone will point the finger when there’s a bandwagon to jump on.
“But at the end of the day, out of respect to Molly, and out of respect for myself and our relationship, I’m going to let us deal with that in private, as much as we can.
“I’m just happy to be here today and talk about my book.
“I want to leave all that stuff to me and Molly, because we owe the respect to ourselves to do that.”
Despite some “hard times” following the pair’s split, Tommy insisted he is now “feeling good” and he has been knuckling down with his boxing training, promoting his book and looking after Bambi.
He said: “I’m feeling OK, I’m feeling good.
“It doesn’t take a genius to work out it’s been very tough for me. It’s been very hard times.
“But I’ve just been knuckling down into my training, taking my daughter to ballet, swimming, messy play.
“I’ve just been keeping myself busy and I’m very excited to launch the book today.”

Rosamund Pike and Sacha Baron Cohen to star in Netflix’s Ladies First

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosamund Pike and Sacha Baron Cohen are to lead Netflix’s rom-com ‘Ladies First’.
The 45-year-old actress and the ‘Borat’ star, 52, will play central roles in the upcoming movie which is set to adapt the Eleonore Pourriat-directed French film ‘Je Ne Suit Un Homme Facile’.
The original 2018 picture – which translates to ‘I Am Not An Easy Man’ – follows an unrelenting womaniser who finds himself in an alternate reality which is ruled by a matriarchy, where he ends up finding love with a fiery woman.
The upcoming flick will be helmed by ‘Wicked Little Letters’ filmmaker Thea Sharrock, and is due to be produced by 3dot Productions and Four By Two Films.
As well as ‘Ladies First’, Pike was recently added to the cast of ‘Now You See Me 3’.
While the ‘Saltburn’ star’s role in the magical heist series is being kept under wraps, Lionsgate bosses teased the actress would be playing a “pivotal” part in the project.
Original cast members Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Morgan Freeman are expected to reprise their respective roles, while Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa and Ariana Greenblatt are also newcomers to the franchise.
The movie is being helmed by ‘Venom’ director Ruben Fleischer, while Eric Warren Singer, Seth Grahame-Smith and Mike Lesslie write the screenplay.
Lionsgate president Nathan Kahane previously said of the writing team: “Eric has always been fascinated with the fine art of deception and illusion in all of its forms and he came to us with a great story that takes the mythology of ‘Now You See Me’ and pushes The Four Horsemen to a whole new level with our key returning cast and new characters.
“The ‘Now You See Me’ franchise has been built on keeping the audience surprised and guessing. Any great magician knows, you can’t keep doing the same tricks. And Eric and his team of illusionists have something special up their sleeve for this new film.”

Michael Keaton open to MCU return

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Keaton hasn’t ruled out returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The 73-year-old actor played the Vulture in 2017’s ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ – also cameoing as the character in Sony’s ‘Morbius’ five years later – and has hinted he hasn’t completely closed the door on the villain even though he hasn’t been approached by the studio to reprise the role.
When Screen Rant asked Keaton if he would be willing to suit up again as the Vulture now that Sony was officially moving forward with director Destin Daniel Cretton for the fourth ‘Spider-Man’ movie, he said: “That’s an interesting character, that guy. Actually, I was there for a minute in the second one … That really was a fun experience, but I haven’t talked to anybody about anything.”
He joked: “I try not to talk to anybody. I really don’t like people.”
While his MCU future remains uncertain, Keaton revealed he would be interested in playing Beetlejuice again after he recently reprised the role for ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ – the long-awaited sequel to director Tim Burton’s 1988 horror-comedy.
When E! News asked if he would consider playing the chaotic ghost again in a third film in the series, Keaton said: “Oh man, I’d do it every year. Yeah!”
The ‘Goodrich’ star returned to the franchise alongside Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara, though only agreed to reprise his role in the sequel so long as Beetlejuice didn’t dominate the story.
He explained to GQ: “The idea was, no, no, no, you can’t load it up with Beetlejuice, that’ll kill it.
“I think the Beetlejuice character doesn’t drive the story as much as he did in the first one. He’s more part of the storyline in this one as opposed to the first one, which is a case of this thing comes in and drives the movie a little bit.”
