Louis Theroux set to interview Dame Joan Collins, Anthony Joshua and more big names for new series

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Theroux will interview Dame Joan Collins and Anthony Joshua on the new series of ‘Louis Theroux Interviews’.
The former ‘Weird Weekends’ star will sit down with the ‘Dynasty’ star, 90, and the 33-year-old boxing heavyweight champion – along with other big names like actor Ashley Walters, 41, whistleblower Chelsea Manning, 35, the Libertines frontman Pete Doherty, 44, and 25-year-old singer Raye – for in-depth one-on-one chats across six episodes set to air later at an unconfirmed date.
The 53-year-old broadcaster said: “Working with the team on these six new programmes has been an enormous pleasure. The six guests are all distinctive and brilliant in different ways, all of them people who have endured setbacks and huge successes, and who have something to share with the world based on their journeys through life.
“We have tried to build on the success of the first six ‘Louis Theroux Interviews’, while pushing further this time into terrain that is gritty and difficult, exploring subjects like mental health, brushes with the law and political controversy.”
The BBC said that the series – which was filmed in locations like New York City, Normandy, Glastonbury and the French Riviera – “will bring viewers closer than ever to some of the world’s most well-known personalities” and rely on Louis’ “signature immersive filming style”.
The public broadcaster bosses admitted they were “delighted” that the documentary maker was coming back with an “exciting and eclectic mix of new interviewees” after speaking to Stormzy, Dame Judi Dench, 88, Yungblud, 26, Bear Grylls, 49, Katherine Ryan, 40, and Rita Ora, 32, last season.

‘So heartbreaking!’ Strictly Come Dancing judges hate the dreaded dance off

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judges hate having to send contestants home.
The BBC’s Latin and ballroom competition is back on Saturday (23.09.23) for the first live show of the series, and the panel – Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood – have all admitted the dreaded dance off is the worst part of the show.
Anton said: “The biggest challenge is eliminating somebody and sometimes it’s tighter than you’d want it to be, but that’s the job and that’s what I’m there for, so that is the most challenging part.
“Trying to be encouraging, trying to help people – that’s the fun part.”
His fellow judge Shirley agreed, confessing that she finds it “so heartbreaking” having the “final say”.
She added: “The biggest challenge is when I hear Anton vote differently to Craig and Motsi in the dance off and then the final say is down to me.
“It’s so heartbreaking having to send anyone home.”
For Motsi, the dance off is “always” tough because of the relationships that are built as the competition goes on.
She explained: “I bond with all the contestants and sending somebody home is never easy.”
Even Craig – who is known for being brutally honest with the contestants – finds it incredibly difficult to “make the right decisions” when it’s time to eliminate an act.
He admitted: “I think that’s the hardest thing for me in the job.”
However, there are benefits too, and the silvertongued judge loves getting to soak up the action from the best seat in the house.
He said: “The biggest joy I take from my job is getting front row seats to the best dance show in the world.”
For the panel, simply being part of the spectacle is a huge part of the appeal.
Anton added: “It’s a real surprise and a fortune that I’ve been a part of the show since the beginning, and there’s only Craig, Tess and I left from the very first series and to have been part of a show that is part of the fabric of British consciousness – and the world’s, it’s such a global show – is sort of overwhelming, if I think about it too deeply it blows my mind.
“To be a part of that since the beginning, I feel massive pride. I love it now as much as I did then and I’m delighted about that as well.”

Carol Vorderman ‘bedridden for two days’ due to COVID

OHMYGOSSIP — Carol Vorderman has been bedridden after testing positive for COVID-19.
The 62-year-old star gave fans a health update earlier this week after sleeping most of the weekend, and while she was on the mend on Monday (18.09.23) she was still making sure to be safe.
In a video on Instagram holding up a positive COVID test, she said: “I am speaking to you from my bed because I’ve got this! Yes, COVID.
“And I’ve slept for about two days – well, not really. And I feel great now. I feel so ready to get back to work. Anyway, I’ll do another test later, hopefully it’s negative.
“That’s my news! And for the first time, I’ve put a nightie on! I thought, best do that before I did a video.”
In the caption, the ‘Countdown’ legend joked she hadn’t brushed her hair for a couple of days.
She also teased that the video could have been “something else entirely” if she hadn’t found something to wear after being in bed for the weekend.
She wrote in the caption: “Covid Mamma here
Slept for what seems like two days. Ha and feel great now.
“Mind you scruff bomb here. Not brushed my hair for two days either.
“Found a nightie to put on before I did this video, thought best or it could have turned into something else entirely… lols (sic)”

Dominic Cooper cast in period drama Cry From The Sea

OHMYGOSSIP — Dominic Cooper is to star in the period drama ‘Cry From The Sea’.
The 45-year-old actor will feature alongside Sarah Gadon in the Canadian-Irish movie that is being directed by Vic Sarin.
The film, which is currently shooting, is set in the aftermath of World War I and the Irish Civil War and revolves around lighthouse keeper Seamus Og Mac Grianna – who has created a life of isolation and ritual after a tragedy he feels he should have stopped.
His only company is housekeeper Marie (Sarah Bolger), who allows him to remain closed off from the world while quietly waiting for him to see her.
Seamus’s meticulously structured life starts to crack when he meets outspoken American war widow Edith (Gadon) – whose search for closure ignites something in Seamus that will change them all forever.
The script has been written by Ciaran Creagh and is being produced by Vancouver-based production company Sepia Films and Dublin-based ShinAwil.
Dominic played the role of Sky in ‘Mamma Mia!’ but says that being in the movie musical gave him a false impression that “acting is just going around in boats” on the Greek islands.
The ‘History Boys’ actor told Collider: “To go off to an island in Greece and sing every so often would be very important, but unfortunately it just doesn’t happen that often. That happened so early on for me, I thought that was just the way it would be.
“I thought, ‘Oh, I see, acting is just going around in boats and you live in Greece and you swim every day. You have a couple of days, here and there. Oh, I see.’ I was brought back down to earth very quickly after that.”

‘You have to freshen it up’: Expendables 4 producer hails new stars Megan Fox and 50 Cent

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Expendables 4’ producers are pleased with the new blood in the franchise.
Megan Fox and 50 Cent have joined action legends Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham in the latest movie in the action series and producer Kevin King Templeton felt it was necessary to add some new faces in the flick.
Kevin told Screen Rant: “Each movie has different characters in there. In order to evolve, you can’t reinvent the wheel, but you have to freshen it up.
“You have to put new characters in there, but these characters have to fit, and they have to be right. It was kind of an extensive casting process, but I’m hoping we got the right balance.”
The producer continued: “It was more a Christmas-centric movie, (and) we needed a foil for Jason, so Megan was cast in it. We thought the chemistry was perfect between the two of them, which is why we cast her.
“50 (Cent) added some much-needed blood to the back team. You don’t reinvent the wheel, but you definitely polish the tires and give it a new coat.”
Templeton revealed that the cast and crew were determined to make sure that the movie was a “bread and butter” action picture.
He said: “The movies are – we’re not superheroes. We’re not Marvel; no one throws a cape on and flies through the air. It’s old-fashioned action, and that was the main thing, when we were developing, everyone agreed that we needed to stick to.
“That’s what started it. That’s the bread and butter of this franchise. That’s the lifeblood of it, so we knew what we were getting into. It wasn’t a question of, ‘We have to stay true to it.’ We always had that philosophy for this. It never changed, and I don’t think it will.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky McClure is set to star in new drama ‘Insomnia’.
The ‘Line of Duty’ actress will play career woman Emma Averill in a six-part Paramount Plus series based on Sarah Pinborough’s novel of the same name as her character fears she is losing her mind when her dream life becomes a nightmare.

“Emma’s mother always told her she’d go the same way, that she had the same ‘bad blood’, and now Emma’s terrified it’s true.
“As events worsen, Emma’s world starts to unravel, and she realises that only by investigating the truth of her painful past can she find the answers to her present and prevent tragedy from striking a second time.”

Anton Du Beke ‘would love’ to dance with a Strictly Come Dancing professional

OHMYGOSSIP — Anton Du Beke “would love” to dance with one of the professionals on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 57-year-old star – who replaced Bruno Tonioli, 67, in 2021 on the judging panel of the star-studded BBC One Latin and ballroom competition having been partnered with a celebrity on every previous season – misses taking to the ballroom floor despite how he “hated” getting voted off.
He said: “I am really excited about the judges number at the beginning. What I would love to do one year, is to do a dance with one of the professionals for one of the artist numbers like I used to.
“There’s nothing quite like performing, it’s magical, the thing about dancing with a celebrity is you get voted off, and that’s the bit I hated.”
Anton will be back for the new series alongside fellow judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse.
He feels “massive pride” about his continued involvement and longevity on the show – which is fronted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman – even if he finds it “overwhelming”.
He added: “Obviously you will want to know who the celebrities are, some you’ll know and some you won’t know as well, and audiences will get a favourite immediately, so that’s always exciting in the first show. The music’s amazing, the Judges are brilliant, Tess and Claudia are incredible, the frocks are fantastic, then you have all of sets and the lighting! The show is so multi-generational as well.
“The biggest joy is being part of it and turning up every week. It’s a real surprise and a fortune that I’ve been a part of the show since the beginning, and there’s only Craig, Tess and I left from the very first series and to have been part of a show that is part of the fabric of British consciousness – and the world’s, it’s such a global show – is sort of overwhelming, if I think about it too deeply it blows my mind.
“To be a part of that since the beginning, I feel massive pride. I love it now as much as I did then and I’m delighted about that as well.”

Ghosts will air its final series next month

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Ghosts’ will return for its last season next month.
The fifth and final series of the hit BBC One comedy – which follows a young couple who inherit a country house haunted by ghosts from across history – has been given an official launch date of 6 October at 8.30pm.
The news was first shared at a special BFI preview screening – along with the announcement the entire box set will drop on BBC iPlayer on the same day – that featured stars Charlotte Ritchie, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Lolly Adefope, Simon Farnaby, Mathew Baynton, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, and Ben Willbond.
In March, it was officially announced that the upcoming installment of episodes would be its concluding one.
The show’s team said in a statement: “After five incredible years haunting the halls of Button House, we have decided that the time is right to let our beloved sitcom ‘Ghosts’ rest in peace.
“We have just wrapped filming on our fifth and final series and we can’t wait to share it with you all later this year.
“We could never have imagined the reception the show has enjoyed, or the fun we have had making it, and we would like to thank our amazing cast and crew, as well as everyone at BBC Comedy, BBC1 and Monumental Television for their tireless support.”
They concluded: “But most of all, we’d like to thank everyone who watches.”
John Petrie, the BBC’s Director of Comedy, added: “We are officially in mourning for the end of this BBC Comedy Classic. We can’t thank the ‘Ghosts’ team enough for five incredible series (not to mention some perfect Christmas Specials), and we can’t wait for BBC viewers to see the final series.”

Les Dennis ‘regrets’ end of first marriage as he struggled to grieve parents’ death

OHMYGOSSIP — Les Dennis “regrets” the collapse of his first marriage to Lynne Webster.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star – who will be part of the BBC Latin and ballroom competition’s upcoming series – thinks the relationship “fell apart” because he didn’t take the time to grieve the death of his parents.
Appearing on the ‘Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake’ podcast, he said: “I think my first marriage fell apart because I didn’t take stock.
“When my mum died I went on stage. When my dad died, I was in Bournemouth and didn’t know until after.
“And then I was again convinced to go on stage that night and do the show as a ‘tribute’ to my dad.”
The former couple tied the knot in 1974, but Les confessed the end of his and Lynne’s marriage – which came when they got divorced 16 years later – was impacted by his “blinkered” reaction to such devastating losses.
He added: “So, I have regrets about that. My first marriage probably was affected by my blinkered… just getting on [with it mentality].
“‘I’ve got to get on. Dustin’s gone now. I’ve got to get on with my career.’ ”
Les later married Amanda Holden after they met during a production of ‘The Sound of Music’ in 1993, but they split seven years later.
Although they did try to rekindled their romance, they broke up for good in 2002, while the comedian went onto wed his third wife Claire in 2009, and they are still happily married to this day.
Les recently revealed his significant other shed tears of happiness when she found out he was going to appear on ‘Strictly’.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I was in the mix for ‘Strictly’, and then I heard from my agent I’d got it, and I called my wife and she cried – but in a good way. She didn’t cry going, ‘Don’t do it!’
“It’s a big challenge. The last few years, I’ve had challenges just come out of nowhere, like I did my first opera two years ago at the RSC, with no training. So this is such a massive opportunity as I approach 70. I thought yeah, why not?”

Zara McDermott told to dance in men’s shoes for Strictly: ‘My feet were bleeding!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara McDermott was left with bleeding feet after training for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ wearing men’s shoes.
The 26-year-old TV star is paired up with Graziano Di Prima for the latest series of the BBC Latin and Ballroom competition and revealed that her professional partner had told her to start rehearsals without a traditional pair of high heels.
She told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Graziano told me not to go for the heels but to dance in men’s shoes at the start.
“Off he went and got me them and they’re men’s shoes with a little Cuban heel.
“I told him, ‘It’s not working, I need to take them off’ and he said, ‘No, no you’re fine.
I said honestly it’s hurting and I took them off and my feet were bleeding. I was like, ‘I told you I am not being dramatic!’
“My feet are feeling better this week, I feel like they’re getting harder now.”
The former ‘Love Island’ contestant danced with the rest of the cast including broadcaster Angela Rippon, TV legend Les Dennis and former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach during last week’s launch show but joked that she performed like a “piece of wood” and promised ahead of the show’s first heat on Saturday night (23.09.23) that she has improved.
She said: “Last week I was honestly like a piece of wood but now I have made some progress.
“I’m dancing the cha cha cha and for the dance you need to have totally straight legs.
“I’ve learned that your legs have to be bent back on themselves to be that straight, which is really unnatural.
“It is so weird and feels so unnatural to do it but I am getting there.”

‘Why are people so evil?’ Leslie Jones blasts trolls over Ghostbusters death threats

OHMYGOSSIP — Leslie Jones received death threats over her female-led ‘Ghostbusters’ movie.
The 56-year-old actress – who starred in Kevin Feig’s movie alongside Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy – has blasted Jason Reitman’s response to the 2016 film when he released ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ in 2021, as well as the public fallout from it.
In her new memoir ‘Leslie F****** Jones’, she wrote: “Why are people being so evil to each other? How can you sit and type ‘I want to kill you.’ Who does that?”
She continued: “Sad keyboard warriors living in their mother’s basements hated the fact that this hallowed work of perfect art now featured — gasp! horror! — women in the lead roles.
“Worst of all, of course, was that one of the lead characters was a Black woman. For some men, this was the final straw.”
When it came to making his movie, Jason – whose father Ivan helmed the original ‘Ghostbusters’ films in the 1980s – insisted he was “trying to go back to the original technique and hand the movie back to the fans”.
The ‘Juno’ director added at the time: “I’m not making the ‘Juno’ of ‘Ghostbusters’ movies.
“This is gonna be a love letter to ‘Ghostbusters’… I want to make a movie for my fellow ‘Ghostbusters’ fans.”
He later claimed on Twitter that his comments “came out wrong” and he hailed the all-female version as “amazing”, but Leslie insisted “the damage was done”.
In her memoir, she insisted that his original comments were “a pretty clear shout-out” to the people who were attacking her.
She wrote: “Bringing up the idea of giving the movie ‘back to the fans’ was a pretty clear shout-out to all those losers who went after us for making an all-female [movie].”

Davina McCall is already planning celebrity version of My Mum Your Dad

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall is planning a celebrity version of ‘My Mum, Your Dad’.
The 55-year-old star has had an amazing time working on her middle-aged dating show for ITV, and she is already thinking of some exciting ideas for a second series.
She told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “I want to present this show for the rest of my life.
“A celebrity version would be so good — how many single celebs are there? I’m interviewing now.”
The show’s finale airs tonight (21.09.23) at 9pm on ITV 1 before dropping on ITVX, and the parents will finally find out the big twist that their children have been watching the whole time.
She’s set to ask Kaliel and Mazey if their parents Natalie and Paul have their approval, as well as whether or not Zach and Tia think parents Elliott and Sharon are a good match.
She said: “I like it that when they do meet and match, they have their kids’ blessing and the kids know each other too.
“That’s an enormous hurdle in a new relationship. If the kids don’t like each other, it’s game over.”
The former ‘Big Brother’ star insisted she’s “Cupid” after playing matchmaker for the first series, and she pointed to the way the relationships have developed “very organically”.
She added: “I love watching love blossom, and it blossomed very organically and very slowly and sweetly.
“I’ve since been sent photos of couples. The show works, I really am Cupid.”
The new show was previously described by the host as “Midlife Love Island” but Davina has admitted it’s actually a very different concept.
According to OK! magazine she recently said: “It’s my fault that it got called ‘Midlife Love Island’ – that’s what I called it in an email… I’ve been trying to burn that name ever since!
“For me personally speaking, I’d rather watch the hint of love and a moment of tenderness – that’s so exciting.
“Jumping into bed and s*******, once you’ve seen it, it doesn’t mean anything. This really means something – when you see people falling in love.”

Greta Gerwig ‘nearly overwhelmed’ by seeing Barbie in IMAX

OHMYGOSSIP — Greta Gerwig is “nearly overwhelmed” by seeing ‘Barbie’ in IMAX.
The 40-year-old director is at the helm of the smash hit summer comedy starring Margot Robbie as the titular doll and Ryan Gosling as her boyfriend Ken and as film is released again in exceptionally high-definition cinemas across the US, has claimed that viewers will be “most satisfied” by watching it in such a format.
Speaking in a video posted to IMAX’s X account, she said: “It sounds and looks incredible, this is the most satisfying way to watch it and it feels like it really gets inside of you. I like the feeling of being nearly overwhelmed by it.”
The film has become the highest-grossing movie of 2023 so far, with Variety revealing that at the beginning of September it had brought in a total of $1.36 billion since its release in July.
‘Barbie’ also became Warner Bros’ highest-grossing film ever as it passed the record set by ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two’, which was the final instalment of the megahit wizarding franchise based on the magical book series by J.K Rowling.
Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros’ president of domestic distribution in the US, said in a statement: “This is a watershed moment for ‘Barbie,’ and no one but Greta Gerwig could have brought this cross-generational icon and her world to life in such a funny, emotional and entertaining story, one that is resonating with all four quadrants of moviegoers and literally turning the entire world pink.
“Long lines and repeat viewings prove that movies are back in a big, big way, and we look forward to seeing just how far ‘Barbie’ can go in the real world.”

Emmerdale star Sheree Murphy thinks soaps should stop airing all year round

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheree Murphy thinks UK soap operas should stop airing all year round.
The 48-year-old actress is probably best known for playing Tricia Dingle in the ITV1 soap opera ‘Emmerdale’ but later had a short stint as Dakota Davies in the Aussie soap ‘Neighbours’ – which after being axed by Channel 5 in 2022 has made a return to Amazon Freevee in a streaming format – and thinks that UK based serials should also ditch the traditional evergreen airing pattern and be broadcast in separate batches of episodes to allow viewers some breathing space.
Speaking on the ‘Soap from the Box’ podcast, she said: “I think that it is such a good idea and it would be very interesting to see if any of our soaps do the same sort of thing. I think it’s the way to go. I think a lot people like to binge watch telly, binge watch a series and then have a little break from it and then you really look forward to the series. Storylines can move on and progress but you don’t need to see any of that. You can do flashbacks, it’s so open-ended and it’s such a good idea.”
“I think it’s much more attractive to lots of different actors, so it’s such a good idea.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ contestant – who is married to Australian football coach Harry Kewell and has Taylor, 22, Ruby, 20, Matilda, 15, and 11-year-old Dolly with him – played the part of businesswoman Dakota in ‘Neighbours’ for a total of 13 episodes and went on to recall that she had to turn down the initial offer from the show because she was pregnant but was then thrilled to be able to be part of such an “iconic” series.
She added: “I moved to Australia for a bit, the producer phoned my agent and asked if I would like a part in ‘Neighbours’. I couldn’t, I was heavily pregnant at the time and was going back to the UK. But when I went back to Australia, they said they had a different character that they would love me to play.
“I said ‘Hell yes!’ It was great. It was a pinch-me moment standing in Lassiters kissing Paul Robinson and then smacking him round the face. It felt a real honour to be part of such an iconic show.
“It was really surreal. So when I went to meet the producer, he showed round. I know how sets sort of should look but when you’ve been such a fan of a certain show and then when you’re standing on the set, it’s so surreal. Doing a soap, I’ve done two soaps in the UK, and it was run exactly the same. The crew were all lovely, the cast were amazing and I really, really enjoyed my time on it.”

Irish singing superstar desperate for Coronation Street cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel O’Donnell wants a role in ‘Coronation Street’.
The 61-year-old crooner is a huge fan of the ITV soap and would love to walk the famous cobbles, even if it was just a cameo role, and he’d be equally happy playing either himself or a new character.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “Going on ‘Coronation Street’ is a pipe dream.
“I would take a cameo. I’ve always watched Coronation Street and it is my favourite soap on the TV. I’ve met Charlie Lawson (who played Jim McDonald).
“I’ve met a few of the ‘Coronation Street’ and I went a couple of times to the set in Manchester.
“I would take any role – as a singer or a cameo – it doesn’t really matter to me.”
While Daniel has yet to be offered a role on ‘Corrie’, perhaps he could get involved in an open mic night at the Rovers Return, which was previously suggested by series producer Iain MacLeod after Bob Dylan revealed himself to be a fan of the soap.
Ian told the Daily Telegraph newspaper last December: “To hear that Bob Dylan is a Coronation Street viewer blows my mind.
“I would absolutely love the idea of him turning up in the Rovers Return one night.
“Maybe we could write in an open mic night and a mysterious singer could roll in out of the Manchester rain and do a turn.
“I think Ken would certainly be a fan. Rita is also no stranger to a musical number, so perhaps a duet could be on the cards.
“Both he and ‘Coronation Street’ established their reputations in the 1960s, both have championed working-class voices and causes, both tell stories with a particular sensibility and sense of humour.”
Iain’s comments came after Bob admitted he loves to binge ‘Coronation Street’, and he also enjoys watching ‘Father Brown’, a series about a fictional Roman Catholic priest and amateur detective.
He said: “I recently binged: ‘Coronation Street’, ‘Father Brown’ and some early ‘Twilight Zones’. (sic)”
Bob – who was born in Minnesota, US – admits the programmes make him feel “at home”, and he much prefers to watch the likes of ‘Corrie’ and ‘Father Brown’, which features ‘Harry Potter’ star Mark Williams as the titular character, than tune into “foul-smelling or evil” shows.
He added to The Wall Street Journal newspaper: “I know they’re old-fashioned, but they make me feel at home.
“I’m no fan of packaged programs or news shows. I never watch anything foul-smelling or evil. Nothing disgusting, nothing dog a**.”

Ant and Dec want Tim Peake for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant and Dec want Tim Peake to take part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The presenting duo reportedly make suggestions every year before the reality show is cast and the pair think bringing the astronaut into the jungle would make for some “fascinating” discussions in camp.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Both Ant and Dec think Tim would be a fascinating signing for the show and bring another layer to the campfire chats.
“It would be a first for the series to have an astronaut and add some real gravitas.”
In previous years, Ant and Dec are said to have suggested ‘A-Team’ legend Mr. T and football hardman-turned-pundit Roy Keane for the show.
The source added: “Although Ant and Dec are show hosts they know the series inside out so producers are always really interested to have their input and collaborate with them on casting ideas to create the perfect chemistry.”
It was recently claimed ‘First Dates’ star Fred Sirieix is in talks for the show.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Show bosses hope he’ll be a hit with the ladies watching, which is part of the reason they’ve targeted him.
“Everyone’s really excited that they’re close to signing him up.”
However, less than a year ago, the 51-year-old star insisted he wouldn’t want to take part in Bushtucker Trials.
He previously told HELLO! magazine: “I don’t think I’d do ‘I’m a Celebrity’. I wouldn’t be too keen on eating a camel’s anus or something like that.
“I know I eat frogs, I’m French, but at least those frogs are cooked! They are deliciously prepared, whereas a camel’s anus is put in a blender and you have to eat it raw. It’s awful. I know people who have been there – it’s really not ‘gastronomie’.”
