Olly Murs reveals he’s been axed as judge on ‘The Voice’ after six years: ‘I’m gutted!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs has been dropped as a judge on ‘The Voice’.
The ‘Up’ singer, 39, joined the ITV series six years ago alongside fellow judges Sir Tom Jones, 83, Will.i.am, 48, and Jennifer Hudson, 42, but has now told how he is “gutted” after he was told last week he wouldn’t be back in his spinning red chair.
He told The Sun: “I’m gutted. I got the call last week to say I won’t be back on the show, and it’s a bit of a shock, to be honest. I didn’t really expect that to come.
“But I don’t want to sit here like other artists might, and shine and gloss this up and say, ‘It was my decision’. I don’t want to do that.
“I don’t want to bulls*** my fans or bulls*** people who watch the show, and say, ‘Oh, it was an amicable decision to leave – I’ve got lots of things on next year, I can’t do it any more’.
“No. Genuinely, I accept their decision, and they’ll find someone great, I’m sure. But am I going to miss it? Yeah.
“Did I want to leave? No. Will I still watch the show? Of course, but it’ll be sore thinking that could have been me… .”
The Sun reported Olly will awkwardly have to attend the launch of the new ‘Voice’ series in October.
He’s being dropped despite mentoring two singers to victory on the show.
Olly added: “I still have a great relationship with ITV and I don’t actually think it was their decision as such – it was probably more (the production company) Talpa.
“They told my team they’re looking at new people. I don’t know if anyone knows yet, but I will really miss Tom, especially as I got very close to him.
“I’m going to miss drinking champagne after the show with him and chatting life stories but hopefully if he reads this, he might get in touch.
“I loved ‘The Voice’ and will always remember my first day on the set — how nervous I was, sitting in that big, red scary chair.
“But I felt I took to it like a duck to water and really just enjoyed it. I am really going to miss it.
“I loved the people behind the scenes, the coaches, everyone involved, so I am absolutely gutted not to be doing it again but you have to move on, don’t you?
“I’ve had knockbacks in my career before, I will be fine. Something exciting will come along.
“But this year has been such a year of positives for me, I always thought something bad might come around… and I guess this is it.”
Olly added he was going to be able to bounce back from the ITV rejection as he is looking forward to joining Take That as a support act on their upcoming 21-date UK tour.

Director Albert Hughes on taking John Wick to television: ‘I didn’t want to disrespect the movies!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Albert Hughes “doesn’t want to disrespect” anyone with the new ‘John Wick’ series.
The 51-year-old director is at the helm of ‘The Continental: From the World of John Wick’ – which serves as a spin-off to the action movie series – and insisted that he never wanted to “copy” the films in the franchise as he insisted that was not what he was hired for in the first place.
He told MovieWeb: “I would never want to disrespect by copying, and that’s not who I am. They didn’t hire me for that. There are plenty of no-talent directors that, if they wanted to push around, they could do that. The truth is there is not enough talent to go around. If they wanted, the copy would have done that. They told me from the start, which I really love, that it was filmmaker-driven! I come from the school of loving Sergio Leone films where it is all about the tension and the build-up and a quick release of violence. I needed to have the happy medium.
I said, ‘Oh my god, this is perfect. I get to have fun. I know it is stressful, too, but we made it and did have fun. It was pure escapism. I wanted that for the audience, too. If I’m having fun, the audience will have fun too.”
In this iteration of the franchise, the role of Winston Scott is now played by Colin Woodell following on from Ian McShane and Keanu Reeves and Albert explained that his casting came about at the insistence of the producer.
He said: “[Producer] Basil [Iwankye] was a big champion of Colin; I have to give him credit for that.
“He had the movie star looks, but I didn’t see what he saw until [Colin] showed up. He is a very smart actor with these old throwback movie star looks. He looks a bit like Ian McShane in his younger years, but he is deeply talented.”

Mean Girls musical movie gets release date

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Mean Girls’ musical movie will be released in 2024.
Although the film was initially set to drop on Paramount+, it has now been given a theatrical release by the studio and will be on screens from January 12, 2024.
Angourie Rice, Auli’i Cravalho, and Jaquel Spivey and Renée Rapp are set to star in the movie, which is directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr.
Jon Hamm will take on the role of Coach Carr, the gym coach and incompetent sex-ed teacher.
And, Busy Philipps joined the cast as Mrs. George, the mother of Regina George, who is played by Rapp in the film.
Tina Fey and her husband Jeff Richmond are adapting their musical for the big screen, and they want the ‘Mean Girls’ musical movie to have a “fresher palette”.
Composer Richmond told THR previously: “Right now, the day-to-day is more about the movie adaptation that we’re working on. We’re super involved with that. What we’re trying to do [with the movie] is take the score that sounds like a Broadway score – in a good way – and [give] the movie a fresher palette. To make it sound more like stuff you want to listen to on Spotify, as opposed to when you’re sitting eighth row at a Broadway show or the Pantages. It’s kind of making it a fresher, younger take on the whole thing. We’re kind of reinvented the music for the movie, so it’s really fun.”
Lorne Michaels is producing the movie for Paramount Pictures, with Fey penning the script and Richmond and lyricist Nell Benjamin working on the music.

Zara McDermott vows to get confidence back

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara McDermott wants to return to her old confident self.
The 26-year-old reality TV star has admitted trolling has taken a toll on her in recent years but she has vowed to ignore the haters as she takes to the dancefloor on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with professional partner Graziano Di Prima.
She told The Sun newspaper’s TV biz column: “I’m fighting for this — so I’ll channel the confident bikini babe from ‘Love Island’ when I’m on the ‘Strictly’ dancefloor.
“I’m trying to live my 21-year-old, no-care attitude and channel the inner confidence I think is key for this show.
“From being in this industry 100 per cent, all of a sudden lots of people are commenting on how you look and stuff like that.
“Sometimes when I’m doing the routine, I can hear that little voice in my head going, ‘Don’t mess it up!’
“But I’m trying to change that voice in my head to be like, ‘No, you know what you’re doing.
“Don’t be scared. You are confident, you’re fighting for this.’
“I only get to do this experience once in my whole life. Now I want to feel like I threw absolutely everything into it.”
Zara – who has appeared on ‘Love Island’, ‘Made in Chelsea’ and ‘The X Factor: Celebrity’ – admitted she used to be much less self-conscious.
She said: “I didn’t give any thought to wearing a bikini in front of the nation when I was on ‘Love Island’, I was 21 and at that age you just do it.
“The thought of being in a bikini never really crossed my mind, I just felt at one with myself.
“It’s hard to describe, but I never had those feelings of lack of confidence back then.”

Director pays tribute to Angus Cloud

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Brown has paid tribute to his ‘Your Lucky Day’ star Angus Cloud.
The director is preparing for the release of his movie – which tells the story of a man who wins the lottery but dies shortly after finding out his numbers came up – but admitted it is bittersweet as Angus passed away earlier this year.
In the movie, Angus played a drug dealer who held up the lottery winner.
Brown told Variety: “I remember listening to an interview where Angus was talking about fame and having a hard time. And I just thought he was such a sweetheart that it would be OK, that it would work out because he was just so genuinely kind.
“Maybe because I am a dad, I think about directing a little bit as being a dad to your cast. You’re there to take care of them. So I was imagining the future. I thought we would watch the movie together and I could say to Angus, ‘Hey, look how great you are.’ I was hoping it would get him more parts. I was hoping I would see him in other things.
“You know, you don’t make a small movie for no one to see it. So I just have all this wealth of responsibility for people to see it for him. I just hoped he would have loved it. And I hoped he would be proud of himself.
“It’s not really even mine anymore. It’s really for him.”
Brown revealed it was his wife who encouraged him to cast ‘Euphoria’ star Cloud, 25 – who died from an accidental overdose – in the movie.
He said: “I had written the script again and shared it with my wife. While I was out of town on a shoot, she had watched all of ‘Euphoria,’ and she said, ‘You know, who should be in your movie? It should be this guy, Angus Cloud.’ But she called him Fezco.
“Other people were acting, for lack of a better word. Where it felt like when Angus said it, it was something that he could actually say. It didn’t feel like an affectation. I think in the script, Sterling was a bit of a motormouth. Angus wasn’t exactly that, but he could bring this other level that was way better.
“It was a little bit of a leap for both of us. I had never directed a feature and he never had a movie that was really just his.
“He was just there to be with other people and be present.
“We always talk about acting as listening. And I think Angus did that better than almost anyone I’ve ever seen. People would say their lines, and then he sort of would take that in and react to it. As if he had just heard it himself.”

Stephen Bear dumped by fiancee

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephen Bear has been dumped by fiancee Jessica Smith.
The disgraced reality TV star – who was jailed in March after he was found guilty of sharing a private video of him having sex with his ex Georgia Harrison without consent – is reportedly single again after Jessica labelled him “fake and toxic”.
A source told The Sun that Jessica said: “It took me a while to realise, but it’s all been fake and toxic with Stephen. I’m better off without him and I’m looking forward to moving on with my life.”
OnlyFans model Jessica, 24, is said to have dumped Stephen, 33, over the phone two weeks ago and she has moved back to live with her parents.
In July, Bear was ordered to pay £207,900 to Harrison – the highest ever sum awarded in an image abuse case.
He was found guilty of voyeurism, and two counts of disclosing private, sexual photographs and films in December.
Responding to the record damages, Hanna Basha from Payne Hicks Beach law firm said: “This has been a difficult, complicated and emotional case.
“I am pleased that we were able to support Georgia, and I hope her strength in pursuing this highlights to other victims that there is help and support available for them and that the courts take these matters very seriously.”
‘The Only Way is Essex’ star Georgia said she had been through “absolute hell”.
In a statement released via Essex Police, she said: “Bear’s behaviour was completely unacceptable and those who choose to commit such crimes should and will be prosecuted.
“I hope me taking a stand gives other men and women who have fallen victim to revenge porn the courage to seek justice and most importantly show them that they have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.
“I have felt ashamed, hurt, violated, even broken at times but today I stand here feeling empowered, grateful and a huge sense of unity with all of those who have reached out to support me throughout this ordeal.”

Prince Harry urged to join Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has been urged to join ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Professional dancer Joanne Clifton says she would love to see the Duke of Sussex take part in the show, now that he is no longer a working member of the British Royal Family.
Asked in an interview with Betway who her dream Strictly celebrity would be, Joanne, 39 – who left the show in 2016 – said: “I have two. One of them would be Karl Pilkington. I think he would be hilarious. I don’t think he’d be the best, but I would love to see him step up to the plate.
“My other dream contestant would be Prince Harry. He is technically out of the Royal family now, so why not? He’s not a Royal anymore. Let’s get him in some sparkly lycra. Queen Camilla supposedly loves Strictly, so I think he needs to give it a go.”
Joanne has also given her opinion on who she thinks will win the competition this year.
She said: “The obvious one for me is Layton Williams. He is obviously a trained dancer, however, this does not mean anything because he may be able to pick up steps a bit quicker than someone who has no experience, but that isn’t necessarily the case.
“It will still feel completely new to him. I do think he’s going to be great. However, I saw a snippet of Eddi Kadi in the opening show, and I was blown away! He has serious skills already. I have also been told Nigel Harman is very talented. I think he will be a finalist.”

Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice put on united front after feud claims

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice have downplayed reports of a rift between them.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant and her professional dance partner took to Instagram on Saturday (23.09.23) to shower each other with praise after it was reported that they had not been getting on.
Amanda shared a picture of herself smiling and wrote: “The smile you give your pro partner at the end of the camera rehearsal when you know you are in safe and hugely talented hands…
“@giovannipernice ya legend. See you all tomorrow.”
Giovanni shared her story and wrote: “I usually don’t say these things early (as probably everybody know) but I’m extremely proud of you and I can’t wait for people to watch what we have created.”
The posts came after it was claimed that Amanda. 49, was finding Giovanni to be a tough trainer.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Giovanni is a hard taskmaster and takes the competition very, very seriously.
“Sometimes his manner is incredibly brusque and this can upset his partners.
“Amanda was really looking forward to dancing with him, but has found his aggressive training style and attitude pretty difficult to handle.”
A source close to Giovanni, 33, added: “Amanda has had a lot going on and Giovanni found it frustrating that she was struggling to fully commit to rehearsals.
“He is a perfectionist and when a celeb partner is 100 per cent committed, he knows he can get the best out of them and the partnership will fly — just look at his and Rose [Ayling-Ellis] experience on the show.”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman sees more comic book movies that aren’t Marvel or DC

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Eastman, the co-creator of the superhero comic ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, says there’s “lots of room for other kinds of comic book movies” despite Marvel and DC’s supremacy.
With the release of the blockbuster animated movie ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’, Eastman has predicted that there will be plenty more superhero comic adaptations to come from other studios.
Speaking to NME.com, he said: “They’ve [Marvel] done it so well for so long. I remember when Captain America: The First Avenger came out [in 2011]… It was perfectly done with Chris Evans as the Captain and it was done in a very sincere and serious [way], recognising the importance of the [comics] fanbase… right up through to Avengers: Endgame [in 2019] and some of the TV series. They’ve hit the big marks and made all of us original fans happy.”
He added: “So I think it’s now off to other territories to come up with interesting stories… there’s lots of room for other kinds of comic book movies, you know… I’m curious to see where it all goes, for sure.”
Meanwhile, Seth Rogen, who voices Bebop in the flick, recently admitted “fear” has stopped him from working on Marvel movies.
The 41-year-old actor – who serves as an executive producer on the popular superhero series ‘The Boys’ – confessed he has not tried to take on a project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) because he worries that the way he works might not be a match for the studio.
Speaking to Polygon, Seth explained: “We really have a pretty specific way we work; me and Evan [Goldberg] have been writers for 20 years at this point. It’s a fear of the process, honestly. And I say that knowing nothing about the process. There are a lot of Marvel things I love.
“It’s mostly a fear of how would we plug into the system they have in place, which seems like a very good system, and a system that serves them very well. But is it a system that we would ultimately get really frustrated with?”

Mr. and Mrs. Smith sequel ‘was very hard to develop’

OHMYGOSSIP — The makers of ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ struggled to develop a script for a possible sequel.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie starred in the 2005 action-comedy movie – which proved to be a huge hit at the box office – and screenwriter Simon Kinberg has now revealed why a sequel never materialised.
Simon, 50, told JoBlo.com: “The strength of the first movie is it’s a love story. They are, you know, falling back in love with each other or in love for the first time in a genuine way. And to tell a love story, to serialise a love story is very hard. Because no matter what you do in the second movie, sure, they could be partners and spies and bickering together, but you wouldn’t actually have the arc of two people who are falling in love.”
The movie grossed almost $500 million at the worldwide box office.
The project also helped to establish Brad and Angelina’s personal relationship, which turned into a five-year marriage.
The 48-year-old actress – who was married to Brad between 2014 and 2019 – was initially keen to star in a sequel.
However, the screenwriters struggled to create something “original”.
Angelina previously told MTV News: “We did ask somebody to look into ‘Mr. and Mrs’ to see if they could crack a sequel, but there wasn’t anything original. It was just, ‘Well, they’re going to get married, or they’ve got kids, or they get separated.’ Never great.”
Angelina also suggested that their real-life romance complicated the idea.
She shared: “I don’t think people want to see people who are really together intimate on-screen.”

Alison Hammond put on weight while shooting The Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Hammond put on a stone in weight while filming ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
The 48-year-old TV star co-hosts the show alongside Noel Fielding, and Alison has admitted that she gained weight after eating too many cakes.
She told OK! magazine: “I have put on a stone. I couldn’t believe it. I am literally going running tomorrow! I am just going to get bigger!”
Alison was also surprised by the effort levels of the contestants.
She said: “I didn’t realise how much they put into it. It takes over their life so much.”
What’s more, the TV star has been inspired to bake since she started hosting the programme.
Alison shared: “I have learnt lots. I made brownies twice. But Paul said they were bitter. I was really upset!”
Alison was announced as the new co-host of ‘Bake Off’ back in March.
The presenter admitted at the time to being “absolutely thrilled” and revealed that she couldn’t wait to begin her new role.
She said in a statement: “Finally I can talk about it! I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Great British Bake Off and can’t wait to meet this year’s bakers. It’s a huge honour to be back in the tent and I can’t wait to get started.”
Meanwhile, Ian Katz – Channel 4’s chief content officer – described Alison as being “effortlessly funny and the owner of the best laugh in Britain”.
He said: “Alison is much loved, effortlessly funny and the owner of the best laugh in Britain. She was a huge hit when she appeared on ‘Celebrity Bake Off’ and we’re thrilled to have her back in the tent.”

Strictly Come Dancing stars feel ‘spooked by haunted studio’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ stars are convinced that the show’s studio is haunted.
A number of the BBC show’s biggest stars, including Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood, have reportedly expressed concerns about the studio.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “A number of them have experienced things that they cannot explain.”
‘Strictly’ stars have complained about unexplained bumps and other incidents.
They have, in fact, already urged producers to hire a spirit guide or psychic healer to address their concerns, after the new series launched on the BBC.
The insider shared: “To say some of the professionals are hysterical at the thought of having to go back and spend large amounts of time at Elstree is an understatement.
“A number of the dancers and even one or two of the judges have experienced things that they cannot explain.
“They’re so concerned they are going to have a meeting with producers, possibly next week, to explain their fears and get help.
“Several of them are going to ask the BBC execs to bring in an energy healer or an expert in ridding buildings of spirits and the paranormal.
“You could say it’s regarded as the real curse of ‘Strictly’.”
The dancers and their celebrity partners have been sharing ghost stories ahead of the show’s Halloween special.
The source added: “Some of them have made it very clear they believe in the paranormal.
“They’ve been telling their ghost stories to each other and getting really spooked.
“But at the same time there is a genuine desire to call in an expert who can help relieve their fears.”

Nadiya Hussain: I’ve found the confidence to say no

OHMYGOSSIP — Nadiya Hussain feels more confident than ever.
The 38-year-old star has enjoyed a successful TV career since winning ‘The Great British Bake Off’ in 2015, and Nadiya has admitted that she’s finally found the confidence to say “no” to people.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror newspaper, she explained: “One thing I was told not long ago is that no is a full sentence. You should be able to say no without explanation. I live by that now. If I say no, I don’t owe anyone an explanation. I can just say no.”
Nadiya – who has Musa, 17, Dawud, 16, and Maryam, 13, with her husband Abdal – actually doesn’t feel any guilt about saying “no” these days.
She shared: “It’s very important, especially as a woman in this industry and especially for my children as they’re growing up navigating this world, to understand that they can say no without explanation and that is OK.”
Nadiya has become a well-known TV presenter since winning the ‘Bake Off’ and she’s now feeling more confident than ever before.
The TV chef has actually come to recognise that she’s “good at [her] job” – after years of questioning her own ability.
Reflecting on her TV career, Nadiya said: “I have a very different mindset now where I do believe that I’m good at my job.
“The camera does not faze me one bit. I love, love, love what I do. I’m perfectly happy to be alone in front of the camera and don’t feel scared and daunted any more. It’s helped grow my confidence.”

Freddie Flintoff ‘expressed concerns before Top Gear crash’

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff reportedly expressed safety concerns on the day of his horror crash.
The 45-year-old star suffered serious injuries after flipping an open-topped car while shooting a ‘Top Gear’ feature in December, and an insider has now revealed that the former England cricketer expressed concerns before the crash at Dunsfold Aerodrome.
The source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Freddie voiced his worries about the safety of the stunt on set on the day of the accident.
“He questioned whether or not it was OK, given the vehicle and conditions on the track. He was apprehensive before he got behind the wheel and production staff at the track were aware of this.”
Freddie developed a daredevil reputation after he joined ‘Top Gear’ in 2019.
But the ex-England captain felt nervous before getting behind the wheel in December, and it’s now unclear whether ‘Top Gear’ will ever return.
The insider shared: “He was obviously used to taking part in these stunts during his time on the show, but alarm bells were ringing. It has been openly discussed since the accident by ‘Top Gear’ employees, who are in doubt whether the show will ever return to screens.”
Meanwhile, Freddie recently joined the coaching staff of the England cricket team.
David Lloyd, the former England coach, has even suggested that Freddie could turn his back on his TV career entirely, after quitting ‘Top Gear’.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “I think that’s the way he’s looking. He’s done telly, he’s done boxing. This is a perfect time for him to come back. I’m a big advocate for iconic players like that to spend some time away from the game and then come back.”

Bradley Walsh pays tribute to ‘irreplaceable class act’ Paul O’Grady as Blankety Blank returns to screens

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Walsh hailed Paul O’Grady “an irreplaceable class act” as he returned to host the first series of ‘Blankety Blank’ since his late predecessor’s passing.
The comedian transformed into his drag alter ego Lily Savage on the iconic game show, which he hosted between 1998 and 2002, with Bradley fronting the reboot since 2021.
After Paul’s sudden death aged 67 in March, Bradley, 63, paid a touching tribute to the TV legend as the programme returned at the weekend.
He told The Sun’s TV Mag: “Paul was an absolute genius, and his passing is a great loss.
“There was something so wonderful about his character Lily Savage. She had the most cutting tongue and could get away with just about anything. I was lucky enough to feature as a contestant on the show when Lily was presenting. Paul was an irreplaceable class act.”
Meanwhile, Paul’s career will be the focus of a new ITV documentary.
The popular TV presenter is set to be remembered with a new special that will chart his journey from edgy drag queen Lily Savage to a beloved chat show host.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “He occupies a special place in the hearts of everyone at ITV and this is part of paying further tribute to him.
“This is an interesting angle to take to look back on Paul’s career, but making the leap from edgy drag queen to a household name and star of teatime telly is a story worth exploring.”
Paul – who hosted ‘For The Love of Dogs’ on ITV for 11 seasons – died “unexpectedly and peacefully” at home, according to his husband Andre Portasio.
He said in a statement at the time: “It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening.
“He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion.
“I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.”
Paul’s death was followed by lots of heartfelt tributes from his showbiz pals, including TV presenter Carol Vorderman.
She said on BBC Radio 4: “He just fizzed, he was one of those people that just made you feel every part of you was alive.
“He exploded through the daft, made-up rules of society. He was a massive talent, but you can’t forget he was a social worker when he was younger, he saved babies and young children from abuse, he lived in Soho before it was gentrified, he never judged the vulnerable, the weak, the misunderstood.”

Leonardo DiCaprio was being eyed to play Riddler in The Dark Knight Rises

OHMYGOSSIP — Leonardo DiCaprio was being eyed to play Riddler in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.
Studio executives were keen for Riddler to be the primary villain in the 2012 superhero movie, however, director Christopher Nolan decided on Bane (Tom Hardy) instead.
David S. Goyer – who co-wrote the ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy with Nolan – has revealed that the Oscar winner was the actor wanted to portray the supervillain.
Appearing on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, he spilled: “We had all these pitches…I remember at The Dark Knight [premiere], the head of Warner Bros said, ‘You gotta do the Riddler. Leo [DiCaprio] as the Riddler.’ That’s not the way we work – not to take anything away from him.”
Goyer also revealed that Jake Gyllenhaal was considered for the role of Batman.
He said: “We would chat about all sorts of things…There were a number of people who had screen-tested, and I had advocated for Gyllenhaal. I mean, Gyllenhaal is amazing, Christian Bale is amazing, so who knows what.”
Nolan previously revealed that he approached the late Heath Ledger to take on the role of Bruce Wayne in his ‘Batman’ movies.
The actor would go on to win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker in 2008’s ‘The Dark Knight’.
However, he was earlier invited by Nolan to play the Caped Crusader in 2005’s ‘Batman Begins’ – but rejected the offer.
Speaking to The Playlist, the director said: “He was quite gracious about it, but he said, ‘I would never take a part in a superhero film’.
“I explained to him what I wanted to do with Batman Begins and I think maybe he felt I achieved it.”
