Dune: Part Two’s epic sandworm-riding scene would sometimes take a whole week to film a single shot

OHMYGOSSIP — Denis Villeneuve says the “complexity” of ‘Dune: Part Two’s epic sandworm-riding scene meant that “sometimes” a single shot would take “a week”.
In total, the mind-blowing scene took 44 days to shoot, but the director of the sci-fi blockbuster – which starred Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides – admitted that if he didn’t have the help of his specialist “worm unit”, he would still be here now trying to perfect it.
Speaking in conversation with ‘Ted Lasso’ star Brett Goldstein at the BFI London Film Festival at the weekend, he spilled: “I realised that, the way I wanted to approach this, I didn’t want to compromise.
“Most important with visual effects is, how will you shoot it? And I wanted to shoot it with natural light. And I realized it would take months to shoot it. Each shot was very complex. Each shot took sometimes half a day, sometimes a day, sometimes a week for one shot because of the complexity. If I had done it myself, I would still be shooting.”
Meanwhile, the filmmaker has admitted he will “miss the collective act of creativity” should their come a day when movies are all made through a computer.
He told filmmaker Joe Wright at a special screening of his second ‘Dune’ film on Sunday (13.10.24): “I work with tremendous artists. The thing about cinema I love the most is this collective act of creativity, where you try to make poetry … at the end of the day it is cinema, it is storytelling. It is very moving for me to make it together.
“That is why, if ever one day we came up with … you can create a movie just with a computer, maybe it’s going to be interesting in some ways, but I will absolutely miss the collective act of creativity, which is so beautifully human.”

Zoe Saldana credits Steven Spielberg with ‘restoring her faith’ in films

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Saldana has credited Steven Spielberg with “restoring her faith” in the film industry after she had a “bad experience” on ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.
The 46-year-old ‘Avatar’ actress appeared in 2003 blockbuster ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl’ – directed by Gore Verbinski – and she had a tough time on set which almost caused her to “tip overboard”.
Speaking during a Screen Talk at the BFI London Film Festival on Saturday (12.10.14), Zoe explained: “I knew with that experience the kind of people that I wanted to work with.
“The crew and the cast, they’re 99 per cent of the time super marvellous. But if the studio and the producers and the director, they’re not leading with kindness and awareness and consideration, then that big of a production can become a really bad experience and you may tip overboard. And I kind of did.”
Her next project was ‘The Terminal’ and she says working with Spielberg eight months after finishing ‘Pirates’ helped her get back on track.
She said: “I worked with Steven Spielberg eight months later, and he restored my faith that big can also be great.”
Zoe added she felt “so good and so safe” and revealed the director would play music between scenes to help everyone feel “synchronised and on the same page”.
She also recalled some wise advice the director gave her, adding: “[He said] ‘In order for you to know where you are, you have to know where you came from’.”
Zoe previously opened up about her time on the ‘Pirates’ franchise in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, revealing the “pace” of the big budget production was “a little too fast” for her.
She explained: “It was my first exposure to a major Hollywood mega movie, where there were just so many actors and so many producers and so many crew members.
“We were shooting in different locations, and the environments were not that agreeable, sometimes, to our shoot days. I was very young, and it was just a little too big for me, and the pace of it was a little too fast.”
She added: “I walked away not really having a good experience from it overall. I felt like I was lost in the trenches of it a great deal, and I just didn’t feel like that was okay.”

Georgia Harrison ‘underestimated’ gruelling Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins interrogation

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Harrison “underestimated” how tough the interrogation would be on ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’.
The 29-year-old TV star is amongst the last four contestants standing in the latest series of the Channel 4 show and explained that she was taken aback by the brutal nature of the final round of the military course.
Georgia told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “I really did think the interrogation was going to be easy, because I would watch it on TV and think, ‘If that was me, I wouldn’t be shaking on the floor’, but I really underestimated it.
“I was thinking that I could meditate through it, but it’s just so, so tough.”
The ‘Love Island’ star continued: “You get disorientated so much that you don’t know how long it’s been, who you’re with or if it’s even real any more.
“You lose all understanding of your surroundings. I was definitely hallucinating.
“It’s awful, excruciatingly hard, degrading, demoralising and one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life.”
Georgia revealed that she “almost drowned” during one particular mission on the military-style challenge series.
She said: “I almost drowned.
“As the water hits you, it’s so cold . . .  It’s like your whole body just wants air and it wants to get out.”
Georgia was concerned for her breathing during the ordeal but ended up kicking trainer Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox in the face as a result of her determination to make it through the course.
She said: “When I finally managed to get myself out the seat, my life-jacket got caught  . . . I could feel myself getting to the point of, ‘It’s actually worrying that I’m losing breath in the way I am’.
“So they sent Foxy down to try and rescue me. And my reaction was that I wanted to win so much that I kicked him in the face!”

Ferne McCann reveals ‘pressure’ that led to her quitting reality TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Ferne McCann feels “sad” over the end of her reality show.
The 34-year-old star – who has daughter Sunday, six, with ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins as well as Finty, 15 months, with fiance Lorri Haines – has been fronting the series ‘First Time Mum’ and ‘My Family and Me’ for ITV since leaving ‘TOWIE’ but recently decided to pull the plug on the show as her eldest began to face new “pressure” in life.
She told OK! Magazine: “Every time I talk about it, I feel emotional. This was such a big decision for me but I knew it was the right one. Sunday [Ferne’s daughter who turns seven next month] went into Year 2 and my gut, intuition and heart were saying, ‘Let’s press pause’.
“There were times when she’d get in from school and have the pressure of getting out of her uniform and ready for the show, which I didn’t want.
“But it is sad. It’s like breaking up with someone – the show was one of the longest relationships of my life.”
But the former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! contestant “cannot imagine” her own life not being on screen, so hasn’t quit the industry altogether.
She said: “It’s been a glorious chapter and I have no regrets. As a mum, you’re always second-guessing yourself, so I have to keep saying, ‘Trust yourself’. But I can never imagine my life without cameras. I love making TV.”
Ferne – who will appear on ‘Dancing On Ice’ early next year – is now hosting a podcast with the mother brand Mum and You and explained that since talking to other parents, she has “thought twice” about how she puts her children on social media.
She said: “Yeah, I actually had a few moments while recording where I was like, ‘Oh, you’ve made me think twice about that.’ For example, we had one guest who felt really strongly about not posting her children on social media and I understood both sides. I think it has crossed every parent’s mind that this is a complete social experiment to be putting our kids online – we remember life without social media, but our kids won’t.”

Master Chef host Gregg Wallace denies making sexual comments to a female colleague

OHMYGOSSIP — Gregg Wallace has denied making sexual comments to a female colleague.
The 59-year-old presenter – who has been married to Anne-Marie Sterpini since 2016 – was said to have faced “allegations about his conduct” in 2018 during which time he was said to have bragged about his personal life but he has now insisted that he was cleared of it all at the time and he has never flirted with anyone since he met his wife.
Speaking in a video posted to Instagram, he said: “With reference to what’s in the newspapers, these allegations were investigated by the BBC six years ago – and my comments were found to be not sexual. I repeat not sexual. Thank you for your time.
“Something else that I feel very strongly about, strong enough to be on here, nobody six years ago or since has accused me of flirting with anybody or hitting on anybody. And that’s important to me, and I say this for my wife Anna, who I’ve been true to and madly in love with since the day I met her.”
The Master Chef host – who was initially married to Christine Wallace in 1991, then went on to have Tom, 30, and Libby, 27, with second wife Denise but was then married to Heidi Brown from 2011 until 2012 – was initially said to have let the team “mortified” with his alleged actions, even though he supposedly thought it was all “banter” at the time.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Gregg was accused of making inappropriate comments to a younger, female member of the production team.
“He is said to have been boasting about his sex life with his partner at the time. At one point, Gregg was also accused of taking his top off in front of the woman which felt inappropriate. Gregg appeared to think it was all just banter and is also said to have made some comments in front of the live audience.
“The team working on the show were mortified and told BBC top brass what had happened.”
According to reports, Gregg was told by bosses to “amend his behaviour” but the broadcaster doesn’t comment on individuals and insisted that all issues are dealt with in a “swift” manner.
In a statement, the BBC said: “Whilst we do not comment on individuals, if issues are raised they are dealt with swiftly and appropriately at the time. We do not tolerate any form of inappropriate behaviour and have robust processes in place.”

Laura Dern hails Liam Hemsworth as ‘the safest person’ after shooting Lonely Planet sex scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Dern has called Liam Hemsworth “the safest person” to work with after filming their ‘Lonely Planet’ sex scenes.
The pair share several steamy sequences in the upcoming Netflix romance and the 57-year-old actress has said she was “so lucky” to have worked with someone as “safe” as her co-star.
She told PEOPLE: “By the time we were doing those scenes, there was nothing we couldn’t talk about together and work out creatively, professionally, all of that.
“But we also had a lot of support. We had much, much discussion.”
The picture follows reclusive novelist Katherine Loewe (Dern) who travels to a writer’s retreat in Morocco, only to meet a young man named Owen Brophy (Hemsworth), who eventually becomes her lover.
The ‘Jurassic Park’ star added the modern moviemaking process was “incredible” because it allowed actors to “set boundaries” and stay comfortable with one another during intimate scenes.
She said: “[It is] incredible … that film and filmmaking have changed so that everyone is comfortable in their voice and can set boundaries comfortably without fear of losing a job or being unpopular.
“We both, as young actors, have had a lot of other kinds of experiences on movies.”
As she loved working with ‘The Hunger Games’ star on ‘Lonely Planet’, Dern revealed she was hoping a follow-up film was on the cards.
She said: “I’m feeling a sequel for sure.”
Hemsworth previously revealed he signed on to the flick simply so her could work with Dern.
Speaking with Screen Rant, the 34-year-old actor said: “No tricks on this one. We had a connection from the moment we met and sat down.
“I came onto this project because Laura was a part of it already; the chance to work with Laura was a huge opportunity for me, and I was so excited by that. But coming into it, I’d heard great things about her.”

Maria Bakalova didn’t want to portray Ivana Trump as ‘a trophy wife’ in The Apprentice

OHMYGOSSIP — Maria Bakalova didn’t want to depict Ivana Trump as a “trophy wife” in ‘The Apprentice’.
The 28-year-old actress plays the late businesswoman and model – who was married to Donald Trump from 1977 to 1990 – in the upcoming drama, and has now explained she wanted to properly convey Ivana as a “competitive” and “hardworking woman”.
Maria told Collider: “I found myself really fascinated by her achievements and the fact that she’s been so outspoken. It’s still challenging to demand your position and your equality, even though we’re living in 2024.
“That’s been happening since the ‘70s, [her] standing up for herself and demanding to be treated equally, to be his equal — not just a trophy wife sitting at home, but work hand-in-hand with him. It’s been a really remarkable achievement.”
The film – which was directed by Ali Abbasi – follows Donald Trump’s (Sebastian Stan) rise to fame in the late 1970s as he went from a New York real estate mogul to a man synonymous with wealth and power, under the influence of the right-wing lawyer and political fixer Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong).
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3’ actress added she was “very nervous” to helm her first non-fiction role, particularly as her co-stars had both done “a great job” playing real people in previous projects.
She said: “I was nervous. I was actually very nervous, mostly because I’ve never played a real person before.
“I knew that Sebastian and Jeremy have both played real people before, and they did a great job. I just wanted to be on their level. I wanted to not disappoint them.”
The ‘Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm’ star also said she tried to familiarise herself with Ivana as best as she could so she could deliver an accurate portrayal of the model.
She continued: “I was trying my best to listen to as many recordings of her, watch as many videos of her, and know as much about her story as possible so I could deliver what they deserve.”

Brendan O’Carroll writing new BBC comedy starring Tommy Cannon

OHMYGOSSIP — Brendan O’Carroll has landed a new BBC comedy series.
The ‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’ creator has written a new show called ‘Shedites’ that will feature legendary comedian Tommy Cannon in a leading role. A pilot episode has been penned and is thought to have been well-received by BBC bosses.
Brendan is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column as saying: “It’s using comedy to touch on men’s mental health.
“The BBC loved the pilot. Hopefully it will be out in the fall.”
‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’ has proved divisive amongst critics but continues to pull in strong viewing figures more than a decade after it first aired – even winning the Best Comedy prize at last month’s National Television Awards – and Brendan is relaxed about the mixed reception the sitcom gets.
The Irish comic, who stars in the show as potty-mouthed matriarch Agnes Brown, said: “I’m the same with music and with comedy, it’s subjective, you know? It really is.
“There’s comedians that people find really funny who I then go, ‘I don’t really get that’, you know? They went through a stage where comedy started to get really snarky and people punching down, and I’d be looking and I went, ‘I don’t know…’
“And then there’s other guys, people who were around me go, ‘Oh no, he’s f****** hilarious. Are you kidding me, he’s f****** hilarious!’ And I go, ‘Well… Because really it is, it’s what you call Marmite, that’s what it is and people either love or they f****** hate it.”
Brendan, 69, added: “And you’re gonna have to accept that that’s the way it is. All I have to try and make sure is that people who love it, I don’t let them down, that I continue to be… I don’t try and change to f****** convert the others. I am what I am. The show is what it is, and we deliver it, and hopefully the audience agree, or that portion of the audience agree.”

Wynne Evans ‘heartbroken’ after ‘stupid joke’ with Strictly partner Katya Jones backfires

OHMYGOSSIP — Wynne Evans is “heartbroken” about the fallout from his “stupid joke” with partner Katya Jones on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Fans watching Saturday’s (12.10.24) episode of the BBC show noticed awkward moments between the pair as Katya declined a high-five and appeared to move his hand from her waist and the 52-year-old opera singer is devastated that the “inside joke” between the pair has been “misinterpreted”.
Speaking on BBC Radio Wales on Monday (14.10.24), Wynne said: “I’m absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day.
“It’s not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we’re really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke.
“It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK? We thought it was funny. It wasn’t funny. It has been totally misinterpreted.”
The radio host stressed that Katya, 35, “wasn’t offended” by the incident and that the pair have an “absolutely tight friendship”.
Evans said: “Everything’s on Katya’s socials. She’s talked about it. She’s explained that it was a joke. She wasn’t offended in the least. She doesn’t feel uncomfortable.
“We’ve got a brilliant friendship, an absolutely tight friendship, and I’m sorry if anybody was offended by it, but it was a joke. And that’s all there is. There is no real story, really.”
Wynne remains enthusiastic about the series despite the controversy after he and Katya were joint second on the leaderboard for their tango to ABBA’s ‘Money, Money, Money’.
The tenor said: “I’m absolutely still up for it. I’m having the best time of my life. I just don’t want this to be the bit that people remember.”
‘Strictly’ has been rocked by bullying allegations in recent months but a show source said that the programme’s welfare team had “checked in on the pair and there are no further actions planned”.

Hairy Biker Si King has found life a ‘struggle’ since death of co-star Dave Myers

OHMYGOSSIP — Si King has found life a “struggle” since the death of his ‘Hairy Bikers’ co-star Dave Myers.
The 57-year-old TV chef was left devastated after his friend passed away from cancer at the age of 66 in February and admits that the loss of his companion has been hard to bear.
Si wrote in the Sunday Times newspaper: “I’ll be honest with you, the past few months have been a struggle.
“More than once I was on the verge of jumping on my bike and heading into the sunset. Not tell anyone where I was going. Just clear off and never come back.
“Other times I was raging. Raging at the bloody disease, at God and anything else I could think of. People were asking me what I was going to do next.
“The answer is I am going to take some time to reflect on the life I had with my best mate, and think about moving forwards. Which is exactly what Dave would have wanted. Move forward, don’t dwell on the past.”
King explained that he has been putting together an anthology of classic ‘Hairy Bikers’ recipes and confirmed that “there are a few new projects on the horizon”.
He said: “But even if I end up doing nothing more than making bacon sarnies and playing a few gigs with my band, that’s fine by me. Happy days!”
Si and Dave appeared in over 30 TV shows as the ‘Hairy Bikers’ over the past two decades and he is hopeful that the pair have “left a legacy” on television.
He explained: “Yeah, I’d like to think we made a little bit of difference, here and there.
“Just two regular blokes, having a go at beef rendang or apple pie. Hopefully we caught the attention of people who didn’t normally watch swanky cooking programmes on telly.
“Overweight, scruffy, working-class northerners don’t often get presented with an opportunity like the ‘Hairy Bikers’.
“It was a beautiful, magical thing and I’ll miss it. But there is a future for me, and I’m excited for what’s coming next.”

Vanessa Feltz reveals heartbreaking reason she kept quiet as Rolf Harris assaulted her live on air

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Feltz “didn’t want to upset” Rolf Harris’ wife when he assaulted her live on air.
The 62-year-old star was presenting ‘The Big Breakfast’ and interviewing the late entertainer during a segment that took place on a bed in 1996 , and simply called for an ad break when he began assaulting her because she could see his “adoring” wife Alwen Hughes across the studio.
Writing in her new memoir ‘Vanessa Bares All’, she said: “I put the cushion I was leaning on between us. It made no difference. Rolf kept talking. His hand kept moving. His adoring wife was three feet away. We were live on TV. He was laughing as if everything was completely normal. I knew I couldn’t yell: ‘Rolf Harris is assaulting me!’ I didn’t want to upset Alwen and disturb our viewers. His hand curved round to my inner thigh.
“Every TV presenter learns on Day One that you never throw to an ad break unless the floor manager cues you. That day, I had no choice. Just as Rolf’s hand touched my knicker elastic, I leaped a foot in the air and spluttered: ‘Oh, my goodness. Let’s go to a break. Now! Now! Now’. I disentangled his fingers by jumping off the bed. Utterly unperturbed, Rolf chatted calmly to Alwen. The ad break finished.”
In June 2014, Harris was found guilty of 12 counts of indecently assaulting four girls in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
He was released from jail in May 2017 after serving three years of his five years and nine-month sentence, with one of his counts of sexual assault later overturned.
He died in May 2023 at the age of 93 following a battle with neck cancer, whilst Alwen passed away at the age of 92 in September 2024.
Vanessa then claimed that the proceedings just carried on as normal and she “didn’t make a complaint” because she had no idea of his other crimes until an investigation kicked off almost two decades later.
She wrote: ” I disentangled his fingers by jumping off the bed. Utterly unperturbed, Rolf chatted calmly to Alwen. The ad break finished.
“Rolf and I climbed back on the bed and made polite televisual conversation until our interview wound up. I didn’t make a complaint. I didn’t want to ruin his marriage.
“I was fine, really, and this is crucial: I didn’t know Rolf was doing the same thing to other women, underage girls, children. I didn’t know his wife was often a hovering presence while he did it. I didn’t know he had ever behaved like that to any woman except me. I tried not to think about Rolf Harris after that and managed pretty well, until in 2013, when two police officers turned up at my front door as part of Operation Yewtree. They had the footage of my interview from 17 years earlier.”

Miranda Hart was left ‘bedbound for years’ after her sitcom ended: ‘I lost my joy…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Hart was “bedbound for years” after her sitcom ended.
The 51-year-od comedienne wrapped filming on her eponymous BBC show in 2015 and was suffering with undiagnosed Lyme disease, which eventually became myalgic encephalomyelitis, a condition more commonly known as chronic fatigue syndrome.
She told The Times: “I lost my joy and know that I hadn’t enjoyed my career in the way that I knew I could have if I hadn’t been ill.
“I was housebound and bedbound for years. I didn’t have a job, I didn’t have a social life. I didn’t have any responsibilities or identities.”
The TV star noted that she had a “total collapse” in the years that followed the conclusion of her acclaimed sitcom and eventually learned that she had contracted Lymes when she spent some time in the United States as a teenager.
Miranda appeared in the feature film ‘Emma’ in 2020 and in 2017 starred as Miss Hannigan in the West End revival of ‘Annie’ for a period of time but apart from that has remained largely out of the spotlight over the last decade.
She is “not fully” recovered at the moment, but is feeling optimistic over the future.
She said: “I believe I will get better. I’ve only recently been out in the world again. If this was a named condition and this is how you manage it then I could handle it.
“I think the hardest thing about these sort of fatigue-based conditions is that lack of understanding, lack of never knowing when there’s an end date.”
During her time away from television, Miranda also tied the knot with Richard Fairs, 60, who works as the manager of a building company.
She said: “I think I fell in love immediately.”

Nick Knowles is third celebrity to be booted off ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Knowles and his pro partner Luba Mushtuk have been kicked off ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ after a dance off against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu during the third results show of the series.
Presenter Nick, 62, and Luba, 34, performed their Charleston again to ‘Rain on the Roof’ from the film ‘Paddington 2’, while singer Shayne, 39, and 33-year-old Nancy repeated their Cha Cha to ‘Ain’t No Love (Ain’t No Use)’ by Sub Sub feat Melanie Williams.
After both couples had danced for a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts.
Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all chose to save Shayne and Nancy.
With three votes in favour of the couple, they won the majority vote meaning that Nick and Luba would be leaving the competition.
Head Judge Shirley Ballas agreed and said she would have decided to save Shayne and Nancy.
When asked by show host Tess Daly about their time on the show, Nick said: “I’ve really, really been surprised by how much I’ve loved doing it and by two things that happen.
“One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don’t want to let down your partner.
“The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes – she’s been amazing.”
Luba added: “I’ve never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you’ll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you.”
When asked by Tess about his partner Luba, Nick went on: “Luba’s been amazing and just been so fabulous every day.
“And I should say thank you also to all the background staff, the physios, all the people that have actually got me through this week, and to all of my fellow competitors who have been absolutely astounding, beautiful people.
“There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series.”
Sunday’s results show also featured a special routine from our fabulous professional dancers to Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’, choreographed by Mandy Moore and starring Nikita Kuzmin and Karen Hauer as the leads.
There was also a performance of ‘Everything’s Here’ and ‘Nothing’s Lost’ from Snow Patrol.
The remaining 12 couples will take to the dancefloor next week when ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Saturday 19 October, with the results show on Sunday 20 October on BBC One.
Both of this weekend’s episodes are available to watch now via BBC iPlayer.
Nick and Luba will be joining Fleur East and Janette Manrara for their first exclusive televised interview live on ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’ on Monday 14 October at 6,30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

Dan Aykroyd hails Jason Reitman’s Saturday Night ‘masterpiece’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dan Aykroyd says Jason Reitman’s ‘Saturday Night’ is a masterpiece.
The new movie tells the true story of the last 90 minutes leading up to sketch comedy show ‘Saturday Night Live’s first broadcast in 1975 and former cast member Aykroyd – who is portrayed by Dylan O’Brien in the film – is a huge fan.
He wrote on X: “Cracking a Head to applaud Jason Reitman’s triumphant SNL film. Wow! What a propulsive, engaging, funny, beautifully cast and acted, suspenseful, adventurous, music-filled ride. A perfect window into the creative process at its highest level. Pretty accurate too.
“I was there that night and got to relive it wonderfully again. Congratulations Gil, Jason and Blumie. Don’t miss it whether you know the show or not. It is a stand-alone masterpiece and surefire candidate for Best Picture.”
Meanwhile, Dylan previously admitted he was “self-conscious” about playing Dan and said he did not meet the actor before shooting the film.
He told menshealth.com: “I was self-conscious that I didn’t look like him, that I didn’t sound like him, that I thought people wouldn’t think me—Dan Aykroyd. And I guess it was an insecurity that I would be skewered for being miscast or something.
“It might be the thing most open to interpretation I’ve ever done. By that, I mean it really was just leaping out of the nest. I’m playing this real person, but [director Jason Reitman] had no intention of just copying the person coming in. He really wanted everyone to have their own spin on the person, which, if you’re overthinking it, can be tough to do because it can be very easy to do. If you’re like, I’m just going to watch my guy’s interviews and sketches, then you can kind of fall into imitation. As far as I know, I was just doing what I thought he was like. But I don’t know. That instinct was that Jason was always telling me what to run with. He was big on not overpreparing, not overwatching things, and not impersonating. I’m curious to hear people’s take, because I don’t really know. I just went with my gut.”

Vanessa Feltz threw herself out of moving taxi after cheating reveal

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Feltz threw herself out of a moving taxi when she found out Ben Ofoedu was cheating on her.
The 62-year-old presenter was devastated when her toyboy fiance Ben, 51, confessed during a taxi journey that he had been cheating and she was so distraught she tried to exit the moving vehicle.
She told The Mirror: “He was spluttering, stuttering, expostulating. I didn’t understand because he wasn’t making sense.
“I couldn’t stand another second. I couldn’t bear it. I opened the door of the moving taxi and jumped.
“My coat was torn. Blood was seeping from a cut on my arm. I assumed he would stop the cab and follow to see if I’d survived the leap. He didn’t.
“I suppose you could say my entire love life has been a complete abomination, a catastrophe, an absolute car crash. People might think I’m an absolute fool. And if they do, they would not be wrong.”
While Vanessa admitted she doesn’t enjoy being single, she has no plans to rush into another relationship.
She said: “I’ve been single for 21 months and counting. It’s not my happy state.
“But I’m certainly not going to be plunging in with any old renegade who comes along and says they like my eyes.
“I won’t be going ‘Here’s my cheque book’, ‘Come and take a kidney, what would you like?’ ‘Please let me give you half my house immediately’. I’m not doing that anymore.
“I’m just not doing that. I’ve got to have learned something from all of this, haven’t I?, and I hope I’ve learned that anyway.”

Tom Daley to star in celebrity version of The Traitors

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Daley is set to star in ‘The Traitors’.
The 30-year-old British Olympian is reportedly in final talks to join the celebrity version of the backstabbing BBC game show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “He’s always been a top target for reality show bookers, but his team knew he had the pick of the crop.
“The first series of the celebrity edition blows ‘I’m A Celebrity’ and ‘Strictly’ out the water, really, and Tom knows it will be hugely fun to film.
“He’ll make a great player too, as no one would suspect misdeeds from such a baby-faced lad.”
It was previously revealed that Stephen Fry was top of host Claudia’s wish list for the star-studded version and as a fan of the programme, he jumped at the chance to take part.
A source told TV Biz: “Claudia put Stephen right at the top of celebs she’d want on ‘The Traitors’ and Stephen has made it clear he’d be game.
“Stephen is a fan of the show and Claudia was desperate for him to be in it.
“No contracts have been signed yet — but he told the show’s bosses to name a time and date and he’ll be there.”
Claudia would also like to see the likes of ‘EastEnders’ legend Adam Woodyatt, Hollywood star Andrew Garfield, and ‘Only Connect’ host Victoria Coren Mitchell on the programme.
It was recently revealed producers are keen to get Ricky Gervais to sign up too.
A source told The Sun: “The Beeb want the crème de la crème of stars for the celeb spin-off, and they ideally have to be incredibly smart, funny, and mischievous – and that’s Ricky in three words.
“Behind the scenes, big names have already expressed their interest in taking part from the moment it was revealed the new version of ‘The Traitors’ was being made.
“So Ricky will be in good company around the Traitors table, but whether he takes part will probably depend on his hugely busy diary.”
A third season of ‘The Traitors’ has been filmed and is due to air in January. A fourth series is also being planned alongside the celebrity version.
