Luke Littler ‘lands Bullseye role’ for iconic game show’s Christmas revival

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Littler has reportedly signed up for the ‘Bullseye’ revival.
The 17-year-old World Championship runner-up is said to joining new host Freddie Flintoff on ITV’s upcoming Christmas reboot of the iconic quiz show, and he’ll be throwing for charity as the guest player.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “Luke wasn’t even born when Bullseye was on our screens with original host, Jim Bowen. But Luke knows this is a plum role to have landed.
“As he steps up to the Bullseye oche he knows he’s following in the footsteps of legends including Eric Bristow and Jocky Wilson who all threw darts on the programme in its 1980s heyday.”
Landing Luke for the festive episode has been described as a real “coup” for the producers, who are said to have acted fast to get him on board.
The insider added: “It’s also a coup for the makers of the new Bullseye as Luke is now one of Britain’s best-known players.
“Producers moved swiftly to sign him shortly after the programme was recommissioned by ITV.
“It all adds to the huge sense of excitement for the programme to return.”
A date has yet to be set for the Christmas special, but it’s hoped the return will be a big enough hit to prompt a full series in 2025.
The original show – which became infamous for its less-than-stellar prizes – first aired on ITV between 1981 and 1995 with host Bowen at the helm.
Professional dart players regularly appeared and tried to get as many points as possible to earn money for charities which were picked by teams of amateur players.
The revival is being made by 12 Yard Productions with former ‘Top Gear’ host Flintoff presenting.
He previously said: “‘Bullseye was one of my favourite shows as a kid. I can’t quite believe I’ll get to host this.”

Danny Dyer reveals bizarre place he keeps his toilet rolls to cool him off after a ‘naughty’ curry

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer keeps toilet rolls in a wine cooler to dab his derriere after a spicy curry.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor is particularly partial to a vindaloo, but due to the meal’s spice level it can give him some pain in the behind region afterwards, so he likes to cool down with some chilled pieces of toilet paper.
Speaking on the ‘Off Menu’ podcast, he said: “I do love hot food. When I was brought up me mother used to always get an Indian, a Madras, and she’d save me a bit on a plate.
“So I got used to having hot food as a youngster. I’ve moved up now and I’m a vindaloo man. I do love a vindaloo. There’s just something about it.”
“There’s a myth it gives you the runs. It doesn’t give you the runs, Indian food, it just makes your a******* sting.
“I get a naughty vindaloo near me. Some are really
spicy, some not so bad.
“Sometimes you put the khazi roll in the fridge and just have it ready, just to get that first pony out the way.
“You know it’s coming, you gotta get it out the way.
“I like to have it on a Saturday cos it feels like a Saturday for me and especially after a few beers.
“When it’s a naughty one and I know it’s coming, I will just….and I’ve got a lot of fridges in my gaffe cos I’m caked. I’ve got a few wine coolers and so on, so I can stash me khazi roll somewhere without anyone seeing it.”
Danny joked he wouldn’t chance putting his toilet rolls in the fridge next to any food, because it wouldn’t be very “appetising”.
He added: “You don’t wanna leave your toilet roll next to the potato salad in the fridge, it’s not very appetising is it. So just pop it downstairs in me little wine cooler and dab away.”
Danny previously admitted he used to struggle to fit into his ‘EastEnders’ costumes on Mondays after over-indulging in a Chinese takeaway on a Friday, an Indian meal on a Saturday, and a Sunday roast to top off the weekend.
Speaking on his ‘Sored with the Dyers’ podcast, he said: “I have a Chinese on a Friday, and an Indian on a Saturday, and a roast on a Sunday.
“Honestly, when I go to work on Monday, I’ve swelled up so much … when I try to put my costume on all my neck is really fat. What I usually do is have a detox.”

Britain’s Got Talent auditions postponed following Liam Payne’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell has postponed Thursday’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ auditions as a mark of respect following Liam Payne’s death.
The ‘BGT’ boss, who is also a judge on the ITV talent show, made the last-minute decision to postpone auditions on Thursday (17.10.24), after the former One Direction singer tragically fell to his death in Buenos Aires on Wednesday (16.10.24), aged 31.
Applause store, who organise tickets for the filming of the series, announced: “Due to the tragic passing of Liam Payne, BGT has decided to postpone today’s auditions in Blackpool.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Simon and fellow ‘BGT’ judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and KSI – who is temporarily standing in for regular panellist Bruno Tonioli – were due to shoot auditions in Blackpool on Thursday, just two days after filming for the new series got underway.
Liam shot to fame on ‘The X Factor’ in 2010 when judges Simon and Nicole Scherzinger formed boy band One Direction, comprising of the late star, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik.
It came two years after Liam first auditioned for ‘The X Factor’ in 2008, aged 14.
He impressed then-judges Simon, Cheryl, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh with a version of Frank Sinatra’s ‘Fly Me to the Moon’, but he exited the competition at the Judges’ Houses stage.
Liam was told by Simon to “come back in two years”, and he did to huge success after becoming part of 1D.
Years later, Liam embarked on a relationship with former ‘X Factor’ judge and pop star Cheryl, and the pair had son Bear, seven, together.

Dermot O’Leary recalls ‘wise and young soul’ Liam Payne following tragic passing

OHMYGOSSIP — Dermot O’Leary says Liam Payne was “both wise and a young soul at exactly the same time”, and had a “huge amount of pressure” on him after finding fame on ‘The X Factor’.
The 51-year-old star, who hosted the ITV talent show from 2007 to 2018 – with the exception of 2015 – has paid tribute to the late One Direction star after he fell to his death on Wednesday (16.10.24), aged 31, in Buenos Aires.
Dermot was hosting ‘X Factor’ when Liam first auditioned for the show as a 14 year old in 2008, and again in 2010 when Liam returned to the programme and became part of 1D.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, he said: “I haven’t seen him for a while, but he was both wise and a young soul at exactly the same time.
“He had these old bones about him, like his musical tastes and so forth, and yet he was always beautifully wide-eyed about the world and his place in it and fame.”
Dermot admitted the One Direction members – who also included Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, who later quit the band in 2015 – were under “huge amounts of pressure”, due to the group’s worldwide fame, but insisted they didn’t ever feel like a “manufactured boy band”.
He added: “It’s such a huge amount of pressure to be put on young shoulders.
“He’s been not just famous, but he’s had worldwide fame for, basically, half of his life.
“It’s an incredible amount of time for that level of pressure.
“The most amazing thing about One Direction is they were the least manufactured manufactured boy band you could ever imagine.
“They got chucked together and they went away and worked really hard before Judges’ Houses.
“But from the get-go, they were, ‘We can’t dance, we’re not going to wear the same clothes, we have similar taste in music.’
“I went to see them live in concert a couple of times and you realise that’s their beauty.
“They kind of just ambled around the stage, but they knew each other so well.
“They were such a brilliant band and they evolved so well together, and they meant so much to so many people. And Liam was central to that.
“He did have and always had this unbelievable, soulful voice that belied his age group.”
Dermot admitted many who worked on ‘The X Factor’ felt a “real sense of protectiveness” over the 1D band members.
He added: “The amount of people I’ve spoken to or text over the last 12 hours who worked on the show and felt a real sense of protectiveness over that band … in many ways we grew up with them.
“Sending all our love to Liam’s friends and family.”
Liam had seven-year-old son Bear with former ‘X Factor’ judge Cheryl.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The X Factor’ have praised Liam Payne as an “immensely talented” star who will “leave a lasting legacy on the music industry”, following his death aged 31.
Liam shot to fame on the ITV talent show in 2008, when he first auditioned for the programme as a 14 year old, and again in 2010 when he finished third on the programme as part of One Direction.
A post on the official ‘X Factor’ X account has paid tribute to Liam, after he fell to his death from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on Wednesday (16.10.24).
It reads: “We are heartbroken by the sad passing of Liam Payne.
He was immensely talented and, as part of One Direction, Liam will leave a lasting legacy on the music industry and fans around the world.
Our thoughts are with his friends, family and all who loved him.”
‘X Factor’ judges Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger put One Direction together during series seven of the talent show.
Liam was joined in the group by Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik.
The boy band went on to achieve global fame and release five albums – ‘Up All Night’, ‘Take Me Home’, ‘Midnight Memories’, ‘Four’, and ‘Made in the A.M’ – during their time together, but Zayn quit the band in 2015, and One Direction went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.
The group are remembered for several hit songs, including ‘What Makes You Beautiful’, ‘Steal My Girl’, ‘Best Song Ever’, and ‘Drag Me Down’.
Several ‘X Factor’ stars have paid tribute to Liam, including Olly Murs, Rylan Clark, Josh Cuthbert and host Dermot O’Leary.
What’s more, Harry’s mother Anne Twist took to social media to share a broken-hearted emoji.

Lauren LaVera hoping for romantic comedy role after enduring gore of Terrifier 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren LaVera is ready to star in a romantic comedy after being covered in blood and guts for ‘Terrifier 3’.
The 30-year-old actress returns as ‘Final Girl’ Sienna Shaw to battle brutal killer Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) in the slasher sequel which has been a box office smash hit.
After being tested to her physical and mental limits by director Damien Leone during the ‘Terrifier 3’ shoot, which at times left her feeling genuinely scared, Lauren would like to film a rom-com and enjoy some drama and love scenes without the need for gore.
In an interview with Swagger Magazine, she said: “While we’re filming, it’s very intense and from doing my own stunts, my body would ache. So I took quite a bit of ibuprofen during filming and I was sweating all the time because my body didn’t know the difference between acting scared and actually being scared. I was talking to our intimacy coordinator, Maria, and she explained that my body was reacting to the stress, even though my mind knew it was all fake. So I would love to do a romcom next because I feel like my body needs a break from all this stress!
“Luckily, none of the actors are method actors, so once we call ‘cut’, we’re all just ourselves. I’m really fortunate that I know a lot of the cast and crew for ‘Terrifier 2’ and it’s a really friendly, family-like environment. We’re constantly cracking jokes and hanging out between takes, which helps break up the intensity.”
Despite her need for a break from the splatter-fest of ‘Terrifier 3’, Lauren would have no hesitation in working again with Leone, who has already confirmed plans for ‘Terrifier 4’.
And she is happy to continue to work in the horror genre after being dubbed the next ‘Scream Queen’ by fans, following in the footsteps of horror legends like Scream’s Neve Campbell, ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ star Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jamie Lee Curtis – the star of the ‘Halloween’ franchise and movies like ‘Terror Train’, ‘Prom Night’ and ‘The Fog’.
She said: “I’ve been auditioning like crazy. I’d love to feed my creative love in a different way and try to do something more comedic next, so most of my auditions have been in that vein. I would still do horror, just as long as the story was different from what I’ve already done. I’ve also been writing a coming-of-age comedy with my best friend about our time studying abroad in Europe, and just the shenanigans we got into. So I’m hoping to do that next, and of course, I love horror and would be thrilled to continue in the genre, especially if it means working with Damien again!”

‘I get cheques for 15p’ Christopher Biggins hits out at BBC for selling classic comedies

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Biggins has hit out at the BBC for selling the rights to ‘Porridge’, after receiving royalty cheques “for 15 pence”.
The 75-year-old actor portrayed Lukewarm in the sitcom from 1974 to 1977, opposite Ronnie Barker, Richard Beckinsale and Sir David Jason, and he used to receive royalty cheques for £1,500 when repeats aired on terrestrial TV, but now he doesn’t get nearly as much when the episodes air again on satellite channels.
Speaking on ‘The Lewis Nicholls Show’, he said: “When it was repeated on BBC One or BBC Two I used to get something like £1,500. But then unfortunately the BBC, in their own judgement, sold all the comedy shows to Gold, which we earn no money at all for.
“I get cheques for 15 pence. What do you do with a cheque for 15 pence?”
“It’s very rarely now repeated on BBC One or BBC Two. It’s always constantly on those satellite channels and we get nothing.”
Biggins insisted it is “very unfair”, and the star believes he isn’t the only one who is disgruntled by the move, insisting it has “really angered” others, too.
He added: “It really angers all of us.
“It is bizarre and it is very unfair. It’s ridiculous.”
While Biggins – who won the seventh series of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2007 – has become best known for appearing in pantomimes and reality TV of late, he also starred in BBC sitcoms ‘Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?’ and ‘Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em’, as well as the BBC’s version of ‘I, Claudius’.

Sir David Jason felt ‘jumble of emotions’ after getting letter from daughter he never knew he had

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir David Jason felt everything from “wonder” to “outright panic” when he received a letter from a daughter he never knew he had.
In 2022, the ‘Only Fools And Horses’ legend found out he may have a child he never knew existed for 52 years, which gave him a whole range of emotions as he tried to come to terms with the revelation.
Writing in his new memoir ‘This Time Next Year’, he recalling feeling everything from “wonder and amazement, through anxiety and heartache, to fear and outright panic”.
He said: “I’ve never experienced such a jumble of competing emotions. We were both feeling them. There was a lot of elation kind of, ‘Can you believe it?’ and, ‘What an amazing thing!’
“But there was an inevitable sense of distance too, and a pang of sadness for those missing years, all that lost time.
“So strange to feel this instant intimacy between the two of you, this obvious bond, and, at the same time, to be aware of this gap between you: so much common ground, and yet all that ground uncovered.”
The 84-year-old actor – who has daughter Sophie, 24, with his wife Lady Gill White – found out that he is the father of actress Abi Harris and grandfather to young Charlie.
Abi, 54, had an inkling David might be her biological father after hearing about her time with Jennifer – who starred in ‘Doctor Who’ and 1983 James Bond film ‘Octopussy’ – and she noticed she had a similar shaped nose to ‘The Darling Buds of May’ star.
She decided to write David a letter, quoting a line from Dylan Thomas’ play ‘Under Milk Wood’, and asked if would take a paternity test, which he agreed to.
In his book, Sir David has revealed the letter, which reads: “To begin at the beginning, well actually, at my beginning. I wonder whether it has ever crossed your mind, as it has done with Mum and more recently with me, that you might be my biological father?”
She insisted she wasn’t looking for financial support, but asked if the actor would “take an anonymous paternity test so that I can finally know the truth and let the matter rest”.
Sir David continued: “You will be unsurprised to learn that my hands were shaking by now. What had I just read? I had to go back and read the whole thing again. And then I had to read it again. And then again after that.
“I have to say it really hadn’t crossed my mind that Abi Harris was my daughter – that my relationship with Jennifer Hill while we were in that production of Under Milk Wood in 1970 could have produced a child without me knowing about it.
“At no point in the nearly fifty years that had gone by since then had that thought had cause to enter my head.”
His wife was stunned by the news, but they both felt sympathetic towards Abi and her situation.
He added: “So naturally I should agree to do the test. And if the test came back positive, then we should meet Abi and open our arms to her. I am so grateful that Gill was so supportive and understanding about it all.”

Superman director James Gunn reveals Krypto the Dog ‘changed the shape of the story’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Superman’ director James Gunn has revealed Krypto the Dog will be in the movie and added the character “changed the shape of the story”.
The DC blockbuster is set to introduce the hero’s super-powered mutt in what will be Krypto’s cinematic debut and the 58-year-old filmmaker has now revealed the idea of including the dog in the flick came to him after he adopted his rescue pup Ozu in 2022.
On X, Gunn shared a still of Superman (as played by David Corenswet) and Krypto and captioned the post: “Krypto was inspired by our dog Ozu, who we adopted shortly after I started writing ‘Superman’.
“Ozu, who came from a hoarding situation in a backyard with 60 other dogs and never knew human beings, was problematic to say the least.
“He immediately came in and destroyed our home, our shoes, our furniture – he even ate my laptop. It took a long time before he would even let us touch him.
“I remember thinking, ‘Gosh, how difficult would life be if Ozu had superpowers?’ – and thus Krypto came into the script and changed the shape of the story as Ozu was changing my life.
“What better time to debut the not-so-good-good-boy Krypto than #AdoptAShelterDog month. Btw, Ozu today, is, fairly often, a very good boy.”
The film – which is due to be released in July 2025 – will follow Superman as he attempts to balance his Kryptonian heritage and his human upbringing, all while Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) plans to take the hero down.
Previously, Corenswet revealed he could no longer fit into his pants after bulking up for the picture, which also stars Rachel Brosnahan, Milly Alcock, Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced.
During an appearance on the ‘Manly Things (Sort Of)’ podcast, the 31-year-old actor explained: “I wasn’t 238 [pounds] when we started shooting. I was 238 at my max.
“It was so awesome, I wanna go back. I put on like one of those crew neck sweatshirts … Champion. And I put on one of those sweatshirts – like an XL or double XL – and I was like, ‘I fill this out. This is amazing’. I didn’t fit into any of my pants.”

Sebastian Stan says Donald Trump film The Apprentice is about his ‘character’ rather than politics

OHMYGOSSIP — Sebastian Stan has insisted ‘The Apprentice’ is only about Donald Trump’s “character” rather than his politics.
The 42-year-old actor plays the controversial businessman and former US president in the upcoming drama and has emphasised the movie isn’t trying to swing voters one way or another ahead of November’s election.
Stan told The Hollywood Reporter: “At the end of the day, it’s about him as a character. Forget the politics and just go in there and use your instinct and ask yourself: Do you trust this man? That’s what the movie is about.”
While Stan insisted the movie was not trying to take sides before the election, the Marvel star added he wanted audiences to “dig deeper” into Trump.
When asked if he believed the Ali Abbasi film would influence voters, Stan said: “I don’t know, but what I do hope is that people, regardless of their opinion, are curious enough to try to dig deeper.
“Because I think we’re living in a world where it’s so easy to be handed an opinion everywhere you turn. And I know a lot of people love social media, and that’s where they go for information and for things. You’re being told what to think. You’re being told what to do.”
‘The Apprentice’ – which also stars Maria Bakalova and Jeremy Strong – follows Trump in the 1970s as he becomes one of the most influential and powerful men in America under the guidance of right-wing lawyer and political fixer Roy Cohn.
Trump and his team have reportedly been trying to censor the film since May, and the ‘Thunderbolts*’ actor blasted the businessman for being “hypocritical” due to his constant calls for free speech.
Stan continued: “If you have any inkling of interest, go and really ask yourself: ‘Who is this man? Do you really know? Do you really trust this person to lead a country?’
“He’s been trying to censor this movie, and at the same time, he claims that he acknowledges free speech … I can’t think of anything more hypocritical.”

KSI to play the ‘villain’ as Britain’s Got Talent guest judge

OHMYGOSSIP — KSI has promised to be a “villain” in his stint as a guest judge on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The 31-year-old social media star will stand in for Bruno Tonioli during the next series of the ITV show as the Italian takes time away due to his ‘Dancing with the Stars’ commitments and has joked that he will be the nasty one on the panel.
KSI told ‘Capital’: “I’ve kicked Bruno out, and I’m taking his place! Actually, he’s coming back, but I’m there for a little bit. Yeah, it’s going to be fun, man. I’m going to judge some talent.
“Everyone thinks I’m going to be an evil judge, I’m going to be a villain – I’m going to just press the red button as soon as they walk out. I might do that every now and then, but I’m just going to have fun with it and we’ll just see what happens.”
The YouTuber explained that he has a “high threshold” for acts as he has seen some crazy antics as an online star.
KSI said: “I doubt it! But sure. Because I’ve seen a lot online, I have a high threshold. Like, the bar is very high for me.”
He also revealed that he is unlikely to be able to maintain a “straight face” when he watches some of the acts.
The influencer said: “I’m going to be laughing in their face repeatedly! But it will be a good laugh anyway, so we’ll see.”
KSI will join regular judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon on the panel and recently spoke of his excitement at the opportunity.
He said: “I’m so excited to be a guest judge for ‘BGT’. When I got the call up, I couldn’t believe it. I remember watching old ‘BGT’ episodes and going from being amazed to laughing my a*** off. I’m buzzing to see all the fresh new talent, and I’ll be sure to leave a mark.”

‘Much more fun than being me’: Peter Capaldi treasures the affection he got playing Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Capaldi loved the “affection” he got starring in ‘Doctor Who’.
The 66-year-old star portrayed the Twelfth Doctor in the long-running BBC sci-fi series and explained that being the Time Lord was more “fun” than any other acting role because of the love fans have for the character.
Peter told RadioTimes.com: “It was just an incredible experience. Suddenly, you’re in the middle of this fantastical world, surrounded by people who love ‘Doctor Who’.
“I was watching Tom Baker (who played the Fourth Doctor) talking about something, and he said that when he was Doctor Who, he would do tons and tons of publicity and stuff, because being Doctor Who was much more fun than being Tom Baker, and I would say the same, probably, being Doctor Who is much more fun than being me.
“Certainly, you’re in a very privileged position, because you receive the affection for that character. It is a character, it’s not me, and it’s a delightful place to be. It would be a hard part to sustain. I think, forever, but you do see the best of people, which is lovely.”
Peter is currently starring in the Amazon Prime Video series ‘The Devil’s Hour’ as a criminal capable of ‘remembering’ the future but explained that he doesn’t seek out characters that have unique relationships with time.
The ‘Thick of It’ actor said: “Obviously, I seem to have some facility for impersonating these characters who have this weird relationship with time. It’s just being the kind of actor – you bring yourself to everything, really.
“There are little overlaps (with ‘Doctor Who’), which is fine, but (as an actor), you learn a certain skill about how you look angry or look sad or whatever.
“But actually, actors really are an accumulation of their life and their life’s experiences and also their roles.”

Dianne Buswell reveals unique tactic to banish negative energy in Strictly training

OHMYGOSSIP — Dianne Buswell burns sage to banish negative energy during ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ training sessions.
The 35-year-old star has revealed she tries to “cleanse the room” at the beginning of each rehearsal with her celebrity dance partner Chris McCausland, 47.
As quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column, she said: “When I come in, I go, ‘How are you feeling Chris?’
“And he goes, ‘Urgh’. I take that as not very good. So I get out the sage stick and I cleanse the room.
“It works for about an hour and Chris feels good and then he goes back to, ‘Urgh’. And then we get the stick out.”
Chris – who has made history this year as the BBC Latin and ballroom competition’s first ever blind contestant – insisted he isn’t a fan of the practice.
He added: “She likes her stinky stick and the whole room stinks. All the negative energy has left, but I think everything else is left.”
Chris recently admitted he was “falling apart” before last weekend’s live show after being struck down with a bad cold.
In a joint Instagram video with Dianne, Chris said: “I’ve had a cold. I’m falling apart, but I’m motoring on because I’m a soldier. But we’re getting through the dance with the song, all the way through, occasionally better than where it was yesterday.”
Dianne quipped: “Before I even arrived here [for training] you messaged me: ‘Oh Di. My throat, my nose, my wrist, my big toe…’”
And Chris – who is the show’s first blind contestant – replied: “I was being considerate. I was just to let you know I’ve got a bug. My throat’s a bit sore, my nose is bunged up, just letting you know in case you want to wear a helmet.”
The duo took on the salsa on Saturday (12.10.24), getting a standing ovation from the audience and a score of 30 from the judges.

Alex Horne reveals Taskmaster spin-off ideas based on cars, dogs and food

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Taskmaster’ creator Alex Horne has ideas for car, dog and food-based spin-offs.
The 46-year-old comedian – who started the game show as an Edinburgh Fringe performance before bringing it to television – is expanding the franchise with ‘Junior Taskmaster’ on Channel 4, and he admitted there have been other suggestions discussed over the years.
He told Radio Times magazine: “We did a pilot for ‘Foodmaster’. We’ve talked about ‘Dogmaster’ and ‘Carmaster’ and so on.
“But I think we’re pretty happy with where we are. There’s obviously a danger of diluting the product. I think, currently, junior and senior are our lot.”
The show sees a group of comedians competing in wacky tasks, which they can try to complete however they see fit.
The new kids version – which will see Rose Matafeo and Mike Wozniak replace Greg Davies and Alex respectively – will see children take on silly challenges in a format that builds on the Taskmaster Education programme, which lets schools use elements of the show to aid the curriculum.
The main ‘Taskmaster’ has expanded and spread around the world, with the likes of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Spain, Norway, Sweden and Portugal among those to have their own local versions currently on air.
Alex and Greg tried to break the United States, but the creator would like to have another go after making “a few mistakes” in the adaptation.
He explained: “We sort of did everything the channel told us to do, so we halved the length of the show. It was 22 minutes in total.
“And all the tasks were tasks we’d already done, because we thought we’d play it safe.
“We made a few compromises, which we regret. Greg and I would jump at the chance at doing it in America again, but on our own terms.”

Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen says character may never return after he was hunted by gun-touting mob

OHMYGOSSIP — Sacha Baron Cohen has admitted that Borat may never return after he was hunted by a pro-gun mob.
The 53-year-old actor starred as the Kazakhstani journalist in the 2006 satirical comedy and its sequel ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’ though he has now said the character may be rested for good after he was forced to flee an enraged pro-gun “militia” in Washington State during filming for the 2020 follow-up flick.
Appearing on the ‘SmartLess’ podcast, ‘The Dictator’ star explained: “The last one became so extreme. After that gun rally, I was essentially on the run.
“I had a militia kind of following me. I was going from safe house to safe house for about four days. It became so crazy that you realise there’s a certain amount of skill and preparation, but also you’re going to be lucky. And at some point, your luck runs out.”
Baron Cohen said the experience had left him so shaken that he didn’t want to reprise the role out of concerns for his wellbeing.
He continued: “I think the danger element meant I just didn’t want to do it again. I felt I had to do it for that election. I had to do it. I was terrified about what’s going to happen.”
The ‘Bruno’ actor – who starred in the sequel alongside ‘The Apprentice’ actress Maria Bakalova – previously admitted he “feared for his life” after he narrowly escaped the far-right rally.
In an article for TIME, he wrote: “While filming my latest ‘Borat’ film, I showed up as a right-wing singer at a gun-rights rally in Washington State.
“When organizers finally stormed the stage, I rushed to a nearby get-away vehicle. An angry crowd blocked our way and started pounding on the vehicle with their fists.”
The ‘Ali G Indahouse’ icon explained he wore “a bullet-proof vest” over his suit, but conceded “it felt inadequate with some people outside toting semiautomatic weapons.”
He added: “When someone ripped open the door to drag me out, I used my entire body weight to pull the door back shut until our vehicle maneuvered free.”

The 47-year-old director has helmed the horror franchise and its spin-offs like ‘The Nun’ and ‘Annabelle’ since its 2013 debut and has paid tribute to actors Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as they continue working on the final entry in the series, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’.
On Instagram, the filmmaker shared a photo from the movie set which included production chairs for Farmiga and Wilson with the caption: “Always good to see and hang out with old friends. Gonna miss everyone. End of an era.”
Vera, 51, returned pleasantries with the filmmaker and commented: “Love you (sic).”
‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ will follow paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (played by Farmiga and Wilson respectively) as they work on another demonic case after the events of 2021’s ‘The Devil Made Me Do It’.
Wan said the film – which releases next year and will be the fourth instalment in the series – would be the last entry into the franchise because the team was “very precious” about the I.P.
Speaking with Collider, the ‘Aquaman’ director said: “With ‘The Conjuring’ films, we are very precious about [them].
“And so we kind of want to just take our time to make sure we get it right and to make sure the emotion of the Warren stories that we want to tell, and moving into, and potentially wrapping up, we just want to make sure that it’s the right thing, the right story that we’re telling.”
Aside from ‘The Conjuring’ films, Wan has helmed other horror I.P.s like ‘Saw’ and ‘Insidious’ and recently served as producer on 2022’s ‘M3GAN’.
While he is focused on ‘Last Rites’, the director said a sequel to the sci-fi horror flick wasn’t out of the question.
He previously told the same outlet: “What I will say to that is, whether it’s ‘The Conjuring’ universe, or ‘Saw’, or ‘Malignant’, or ‘M3GAN’ here, we like to think of a bigger world.
“For me, it’s about creating the world, and knowing who the characters are, where the story could potentially go, and then building this bigger world, and then going into that and going, ‘Okay, I’m telling this particular story, but I know other stuff that’s going on.'”
He added: “So if we’re fortunate enough to have sequels, then we have an idea of where we want to go.”
