Disney ‘considering 2nd series of The Full Monty TV series’ after a ‘promising’ 1st series

OHMYGOSSIP — Disney+ are considering a second series of ‘The Fully Monty’ TV reboot.
The streaming service are said to be in talks about making a second run of the TV series, after the first season aired earlier this year, 25 years after the original ‘The Full Monty’ film.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “It looks like Disney+ are considering the go-ahead on a second series of ‘The Full Monty’.”
Several members of the cast of the 1997 British comedy film – which followed unemployed Sheffield steelworkers who decide to put on a striptease show to make a living – reunited for the eight-episode limited series, including Robert Carlyle as Gaz, Mark Addy as Dave, Lesley Sharp as Jean, Hugo Speer as Guy, Paul Barber as Horse, Steve Huison as Lomper, Wim Snape as Nathan, and Tom Wilkinson as Gerald.
Disney chiefs are thought to be considering “a few tweaks” to improve the series ahead of a potential second season.
The source added: “Talks are ongoing about whether it will make it, but everyone felt there was so much promise behind revisiting the story and a few tweaks could make a second series land better.
“Discussions are under way, with some influential people behind the scenes trying their best to make it happen.”
Simon Beaufoy, who wrote the movie, joined forces with Alice Nutter – who was part of the music group Chumbawamba – to pen the eight-part TV series, and the pair would be up for a second series.
He recently told The Sheffield Star newspaper: “We would be up for another series as would the cast so it’s up to the mysterious powers that be at Disney+.
“Disney+ were really good partners and we really enjoyed working with them.
“They were really supportive of everything we tried to do so it would be hard to do it with anybody else.”

Call the Midwife star Jenny Agutter is ‘amazed’ the show is still going

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenny Agutter is “amazed” ‘Call the Midwife’ is still going.
The 71-year-old actress, who plays Sister Julienne, has appeared in the BBC drama since it’s debut in 2012, and admitted she never thought the programme would run for more than just a few episodes.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “I’m amazed at the fact that I’ve just completed series 13.
“When you look at that in terms of your life, it’s a lot of time. When I started out, we had six episodes, and I thought that was going to be it. I thought it was a very good mini-series about nuns and midwifes stemming from Jennifer Worth’s memoirs and that was lovely.
“It never occurred to me that I would sit so closely to so many people’s hearts across different social barriers and groups.”
‘The Railway Children’ star then theorised that the programme had maintained its popularity due to the immensely “imaginative” writing from Heidi Thomas.
She explained: “I think a lot of it has to do with Heidi Thomas’ writing, she is imaginative and able to use fact and fiction so well by weaving them together. The things that have happened and the way people have been affected by circumstances.
“On top of that, Heidi delights one with human nature and the peculiarity of people. I think the one thing that makes one survive is imagination, being stirred by certain things, by helping one another – that’s keeping us going.”
Jenny previously spoke of how getting older no longer worries her.
She told Good Housekeeping Magazine: “I’m not quite sure how I got here! When I turned 60, it seemed like this milestone that suddenly made a person much older and I thought, ‘is it enough of a reward to have a Freedom Pass?’ Actually, yes, it was! Now I’ve got to a point where I think, ‘Do you know what? Age really doesn’t count – it’s just a number.
“When my father was dying, it was very different to when I lost my mother many years earlier. I was much less concerned with making plans and more focused on just being with him – and that was a very good thing.
“Now, it’s about turning off the switch every so often. I’ll go, ‘Okay, you can’t plan this out completely. Just do what you have to do.”

‘Priscilla’ costume designer reveals movie tells how Elvis wanted ‘whore in bedroom and lady in the living room’

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Priscilla’ costume designer says the movie tells the story of Elvis wanting a “whore in the bedroom” but a “lady in the living room”.
Stacey Battat, 47, put together an array of more than 100 outfits for Cailee Spaeny, 26, who plays Elvis Presley’s wife Priscilla in Sofia Coppola’s critically-acclaimed biopic of the singer, and said the outfits reflected Elvis’ obsession with moulding her in his ideal image of how a wife should look.
She told The Guardian: “Clothes are such an important part of storytelling. “Costume design has historically been underappreciated in Hollywood, connected to the fact that it has usually been a woman’s job in a man’s industry. “But Sofia values what costumes can bring to character development.
“You know that saying – you want a whore in the bedroom, a lady in the living room? That was Elvis.
“Priscilla was his ideal woman, and he wanted to keep her pristine. Sexually, he went with different women altogether.”
Stacey added: “The Priscilla you see on screen is Elvis’ fantasy of who she is. “He had a very clear image of his ideal woman, and he projected that on to Priscilla. She lives like a queen, but he has all the power.”
Sofia, 52, has described her screenplay, based on Priscilla’s 1985 memoir ‘Elvis and Me’, as a love story, but the movie has a deep dark side that shows how one of the ways in which Elvis controlled Priscilla was by stifling her sexuality and insisting his wife retain her virginal, young look.
It also shows how he refused to have sex with her after their daughter was conceived.
Stacey created 120 looks worn by Priscilla, with the film spanning 13 years.
She added: “The silhouette is super important in giving a sense of that timeline. “For the first part of the film, (Priscilla is) wearing a crinoline under her pleated skirts. Women still wear pleated skirts now – what makes a pleated skirt look like the 1950s is having that fullness from a crinoline worn underneath.”
Priscilla Beaulieu was a 14-year-old schoolgirl when she met Elvis and she spent the early years of their relationship partying with the most famous man on the planet while still at school, before they married when she was 21 and the singer was 32.
In one scene in Sofia’s movie, Elvis tells his wife about her clothes: “That dress doesn’t suit you. You’re a small girl. You’ve gotta keep away from the prints, baby.”
He then buys her a baby-blue frock dress and tells her that she can’t wear brown as it reminds him of his time in the army.

Greta Gerwig adored seeing fans in pink for Barbie screenings

OHMYGOSSIP — Greta Gerwig was shocked but delighted when people wore pink to see ‘Barbie’.
The 40-year-old filmmaker had no idea audiences would be so celebratory about seeing the film – which stars Margot Robbie as the Mattel doll opposite Ryan Gosling as Ken – but she loved how it contributed to the movie becoming a global phenomenon.
She told Empire magazine: “The pink part – I have to say that was totally organic and not something I could have anticipated.
“I didn’t know people were going to do it.
“And they’re dressing up, they’re showing up en masse in pink.
“I live in New York and I saw all these people walking around in pink in my neighbourhood.
“It just felt amazing.
“And then I see men wearing pink and I was like, ‘They all went to ‘Barbie’. It was just very sweet.
“My son, who’s four, said, ‘Mom, there are a lot of Barbies here today.’
“He’s not seen the movie, he doesn’t know what that means. But he has an idea of it.
“Also, as a lover of movies, the fact that movies were at the centre of a global conversation was extraordinary.”
Greta revealed one of her biggest “secret hopes” for the movie was that people would cry at the end, during the conversation between Barbie and her creator, Ruth Handler, who was played by Rhea Perlman.
She said: “I had this secret hope for the movie that you might find yourself unexpectedly crying and not knowing why.
“All of the images you see, when Ruth says, ‘Take my hands… Now close your eyes… Now feel’, those were all images that were submitted by the cast and crew who made ‘Barbie’ – people’s sisters and wives and mothers and aunts and daughters.
“It was just these snapshots of life.
“You don’t know that, but also I believe that audiences feel that it’s personal.
“I wanted it to be embroidered with something so specific to the people who made it.
“Ending a summer comedy with a conversation about death is one thing, and then also putting home videos from people’s lives, that are personal to these people, felt like another movement towards making it something that could not have been made by any other group of people.”

Peter Barlow actor Chris Gascoyne could return to Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Gascoyne hasn’t ruled out a return to ‘Coronation Street’.
The 55-year-old actor joined the ITV soap as Peter Barlow 23 years ago but after being involved in numerous gripping storylines, he has decided to take some time away from the cobbles to try other roles.
However, he has suggested it might not be goodbye for good.
He told BBC News: “Of course I’ve not ruled [a return] out, it’s been such a part of my life.”
Chris continued: “I’ve grown up with so many people there but I need a rest and to look to do something different, I’m not getting any younger.
“The thing that upset me though was walking away from the people I work with and I don’t just mean the actors. I’ve known all these people for nearly half my life.”
Chris is starring as Captain Hook in ‘The All New Adventures of Peter Pan’ at The Alban Arena in St. Albans this winter.
Although Chris is moving on, ‘Corrie’ producers are leaving the door open for him to return as Peter in the future.
A source told The Sun: “He loves working at ‘Coronation Street’ but he’s got a lot of things he wants to do and the time is right for him to take a break and pursue other roles.
“It isn’t a final goodbye and the door is very much being left open.”
Chris joined ‘Coronation Street’ in 2000, making his debut as part of the Barlow family – Ken Barlow’s oldest son – during the 40th anniversary live episode. He is the seventh actor to have played the character.
He then left in 2003 before returning in 2008 and then, after other forays, Chris came back permanently in 2016.
Chris’ emotional final scene aired on Boxing Day (26.12.23) as he left the cobbles after reminiscing with his wife Carla.

Inside No9 creators ready for a new TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton are ready to create a new long-running TV show once ‘Inside No9’ finishes.
The pair’s black comedy anthology series comes to an end in 2024 after nine seasons, and after spending 10 years writing one-off comedy episodes, Reece and his writing partner are ready to return to a longer format in which they can give their characters a longer story arc.
Appearing on the ‘Scarred For Life’ podcast, he said: “It’s just been me and Steve in a room for 10 years doing all these stories. We’re in them of course and that gives it continuity. We are proud of it, the very fact that we’ve got this far in. They’ll be people who will say it should’ve stopped at Series 2 but we’re very happy at the amount of invention that we’re still injecting into them, I think that’s we would have stopped if we thought we really can’t keep it up. The opportunity is lovely, each week to have a clean slate. That’s the tyranny as well, of course, because you’re then left with how do you do it again next week.
“One of the good things about it is that you can have these great highs and people can die and have extraordinary endings. In the world of six half hours about the same thing everything has to reset of course, you can’t really have these huge main characters dying on these things.
“I think if we ever do anything else after this, which I hope we will, it will be an interesting exercise to do longer storytelling because we’ve done 28-and-a-half minutes for 10 years so it would be nice to try to flex our muscles and do something that is on a bit longer in the way it tells its story. A bit more like a big narrative. ‘Psychoville’ was really a reaction to doing ‘The League of Gentlemen’ for so many years and sketches, so we thought let’s do an ongoing story and then we went back to play for today, that’s really what the Number 9s are.”
Reece, 54, also confirmed plans for an ‘Inside No9’ stage show starring him and Steve, 56.
He said: “There’s a few things that will be coming out.
“We’re gonna do No9 and there’s talk of a live stage version of No9. So it won’t go away for a while because we have plans to do a live version of it, somehow, on stage.
“So that will be exciting because we will have to embrace that it’s live in whatever way we can to make it different again from the TV.”

‘It’s more muscular’: Denis Villeneuve promises more action in Dune: Part Two

OHMYGOSSIP — Denis Villeneuve has promised that ‘Dune: Part Two’ is “more of an action film” than its predecessor.
The 56-year-old director is back behind the camera for the second part of his epic sci-fi adaptation and he’s explained how there will be a shift in tone from the first flick.
Denis told Total Film magazine: “The first movie was more mediative and contemplative. We were following a young man discovering a new planet, a new culture.
“The second movie … it’s more of an action film than the first part. It’s more muscular.”
Despite his promise of action, Denis has explained that the picture – which is released in March 2024 and adds Austin Butler, Florence Pugh and Christopher Walken to an already starry cast – is one of the more “emotional” projects that he’s worked on.
The ‘Blade Runner 2049’ filmmaker said: “I think it’s much more emotional experience, and one of – if not the – most emotional movies I’ve made.”
Villeneuve has revealed that the character of Lady Jessica (played by Rebecca Ferguson) has an integral role in the film.
He said: “At the end of the day (Jessica) is the puppet master of this story. I really wanted to make sure that her character would be prominent in the second part.”
Javier Bardem reprises his role as Stilgar in the second movie and described how “no limits” were placed on the cast in the forthcoming film.
The acclaimed actor said: “In my opinion, the first one, which is an amazing movie, is like the appetiser. It’s where Denis puts the cards on the table for us to understand the game, and, on this second one, we are playing the game with no limits.”

Natalie Portman had never seen Star Wars before being cast

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Portman had never seen a ‘Star Wars’ film until she was cast in the franchise.
The 42-year-old actress played Padme Amidala in 1999 prequel ‘The Phantom Menace’ and its 2002 and 2005 sequels, and though she was “aware of the lingo” of the sci-fi world, she hadn’t actually sat through any of the original trilogy.
She admitted to Radio Times magazine: “I didn’t know the films at all before I was cast!
“I was aware of the lingo, as American culture is so immersed in ‘Star Wars’.
“Even if you’ve never seen the movies, you know what Princess Leia buns are, what a lightsaber is, what a Jedi is, you know who Yoda and Obi-Wan are… you know all these words and names before you even see the films.
“But I only saw the films when I was approached to do them.”
Natalie can next be seen in ‘May December’ and although she wasn’t “comfortable” shooting a sex scene for the film, she was thankful there was an intimacy coordinator on board to guide her through it.
She said: “It’s never comfortable. And we just figured it out between ourselves. I think we all had a very good, open communication.
“But I think intimacy coordinators can be really wonderful, especially in environments that are uncomfortable or hostile. It can be helpful to have some sort of structure around it.”
Natalie was less at ease when director Todd Haynes told her she needed to hold a snake.
She said: “It was definitely a real easy garden snake! I remember Todd asking me, ‘Are you comfortable handling snakes?’ And I said, ‘Absolutely not!’ Then he said, ‘But we need you to’, and I was like, ‘OK… if I must!’ ”

Lorraine Kelly among quartet of guest judges for The Masked Singer

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Kelly, Sir Lenny Henry, Rob Brydon and Ellie Goulding will feature as guest judges on ‘The Masked Singer’.
The quartet will join Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan in the new run of the popular ITV show that begins on Saturday (30.12.23) night with a fresh range of characters including Air Fryer and Weather.
Joel Dommett returns as host and thinks this his favourite series so far because he became a father in September.
The 38-year-old star – who welcomed son Wilde with his wife Hannah Cooper – said: “I think it’s definitely my best series just because of my child arriving.
“I feel like it’s all so joyous and fun. I am viewing it all in an entirely different way.”
The guest judges will feature in addition to 2023 winner Charlie Simpson, Olly Murs and Jennifer Saunders – who are covering for Rita as she will be absent for three shows due to other work commitments.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Skipping three out of eight episodes feels like a pretty big chunk so viewers are bound to miss Rita, she’s such a fan fave.
“But shaking up the panel is also another fun way to keep the programme fresh.
“Jennifer brings a whole new energy, whilst Olly is of course such a safe hands when it comes to talent shows.
“It will be interesting to see what Charlie brings to the table.”
The 33-year-old pop star admitted that she is “gutted” to be missing out on some episodes but praised those who will be taking her place.
Rita said: “I’m gutted to be missing some episodes.
“But keeping my seat warm are some great guest panellists, who I’m told are also super-competitive and will keep the others on their toes.”

Gary Lineker claims Sitting on a Fortune was axed as too many people won cash prizes

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Lineker thinks ‘Sitting on a Fortune’ was axed by ITV as the quiz had too many winners.
The 63-year-old footballer-turned-broadcaster’s gameshow was scrapped by the channel in October after only two series and the host thinks that ITV lacked the budget to continue handing out big cash prizes.
Gary told The Sun newspaper: “I don’t think ITV had the budget for it which is a shame because it was really cool.
“I did enjoy it – it was fun. But people pretty much won every week – and won plenty of money. And I think that made it quite difficult for ITV.”
The football icon confessed that he may not have continued with the gameshow anyway as he has a busy year ahead fronting the BBC’s coverage of Euro 2024 along with his regular ‘Match Of The Day’ presenting work.
Gary explained: “I must say, though, it was getting to a stage where I’m pretty busy.
“I don’t know if I’d have carried on anyway.
“We’ve got the Euros coming up so it’s going to be busy. We’re focusing a lot on the podcast world too because it’s fun and has grown. I’ve tried to move with the times but I’m a bit of a technophobe, but I’ve got better.”
Lineker is also celebrating 30 years advertising Walkers crisps and says a skit with former England teammate Paul Gascoigne is his favourite from across the decades.
He recalled: “I think I’ve done over 150 adverts now but my favourite is still the one I did with Gazza.
“He was trying to pinch my crisps then I squeeze his hand, and because of Italia 90, where he cried, they put this contraption on his eyes that spouted tears. And every time it happened, we just burst out laughing and we just couldn’t do it.
“It must have been about 100 takes.”

Anne Hegerty praises Bradley Walsh as Chase’s ‘secret weapon’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hegerty believes Bradley Walsh is ‘The Chase’s “secret weapon”.
The 65-year-old quizzer thinks the programme and it’s spin-off, ‘Beat the Chasers’, is so successful because the presenter is well suited to the format and able to think quickly in order to respond to the experts with a joke.
Asked why the shows work so well, she told Best magazine: “Great formats and a brilliant host!
“You can tune into ‘The Chase’ at any point during the hour, catch up with it very quickly and be absorbed by it.
“But our secret weapon is Bradley Walsh – everybody loves Bradley.
“He was made to do these programmes – they just suit him down to the ground.
“I love being able to throw out a bizarre fact and he will run with it and make a joke out of it.
“I love the way he latches on to the things I say.”
The Governess doesn’t believe she’s the best quizzer around but her lack of nerves makes her suited to the high-pressure environment of TV.
She said: “I finished 108th in The World Quizzing Championships earlier this year, which is a long way down the pecking order.
“I think the reason I am on TV and other potentially better quizzers aren’t is that I can hold my nerve.
“Nerves – or lack of them – have always been a strength of mine.
“I’ve got nerves of steel but other people who are brilliant quizzers probably let anxiety get the better of them, perhaps when they are auditioning in front of a TV camera or for a radio show.
“I remember being on ‘Brain of Britain’ on the radio in the 1990s and the music started and I was excited and focused, I didn’t feel nervous at all.
“I think you only feel anxious if you haven’t properly prepared for something, and I do prepare well – always.”

Adam Driver ‘relates’ to Enzo Ferrari

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Driver is able to “relate” to Enzo Ferrari.
The 40-year-old actor plays the founder of the luxury sports car manufacturer in the new biopic ‘Ferrari’, and Adam has revealed that he relished the role.
Speaking to Sky News, he shared: “By the time we meet him, he was very proud of being a self-made man … he was very specific and particular, constantly looking up how it could be more economical … and that’s a quest that I relate to.
“How I worked on films when I was 20 … I see so much wasted energy, you know, that I was focusing on the wrong thing.”
Adam also loved being involved in a character-driven movie.
He explained: “So many people – and you know me too – complain how wouldn’t it be great to again see a character-driven story where spectacle takes a back seat … and I feel like it doesn’t happen often, so I’m very happy to be here talking about this movie.”
‘Ferrari’ is directed by Michael Mann and Adam recently described him as “one of the greatest filmmakers of all time”.
The actor told MovieFone.com: “His movies I’ve returned to again and again, and they’ve been a massive inspiration for me.
“He has incredible taste, and I’m not saying that because I got the part, but his tastes in subject matter and how he shoots things, I love. So, when you trust a director’s taste, you feel way more confident that they’re making the movie that they want to make.
“He was someone that, just on a personal level, I am incredibly moved by.”

Paul King ruined expensive jacket with Wonka hug

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul King gave Timothee Chalamet a very “expensive” hug after he shot his final scene for ‘Wonka’.
The 45-year-old filmmaker had worn “nice clothes” to mark the last day of filming on the movie, but the scene in question saw the 27-year-old actor and his co-star Calah Lane (Noodle) trapped in a vat of chocolate, which even left the director in a sticky mess.
He told SFX magazine: That was the last scene we filmed with them.
“Even though I’d put on nice clothes for our last day, I gave them a big hug. And I regretted it because I got chocolate all over my very nice shoes. So it was an expensive choice.
“But I felt that the hug was worth it.
“But yes, the last shot was them swirling around in this chocolate – and very tasty it was too.”
Paul admitted he had no idea how the cast got cleaned up after the scene – but he’d have simply “turned a fire hose” on them.
Asked what happened after he yelled ‘cut’ on the scene, he said: “I imagine they get hosed down. Do you know, I was not involved in the showering of any of our actors. I don’t know why. I had other things to attend to.
“I’d have just turned a fire hose on them and got them out of there. That’s why I wasn’t responsible.”
During filming, there were weekly tastings for the chocolate used in the movie and Paul never missed a session.
He laughed: “I never missed one of those, that was very, very important to attend.
“I liked the idea that this was almost a film of the seven first great chocolates that Willy Wonka made.
“Each chocolate has a different chapter of the story to itself and a different mood of what he’s able to achieve with it.”

Robson Green is stunned by Grantchester’s worldwide appeal

OHMYGOSSIP — Robson Green is shocked that ‘Grantchester’ is popular across the globe.
The 59-year-old star plays DI Geordie Keating in the ITV detective drama and revealed how he was taken aback to find out that the programme has a big fanbase in Australia.
Robson is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: “I just came back from doing a fishing show in Australia. In the outback I was with what I’d call really stereotypical Australian blokes, who told me ‘Grantchester’ was their favourite show!
“Wow. I feel honoured and privileged to be part of something that is enjoyed around the world.”
The eighth series of ‘Grantchester’ begins on ITV next month and Robson explained that he has no intention of leaving the show even though co-stars James Norton and Tom Brittney have both opted to move on.
He told Radio Times: “As I’m in the last third of my life, I want to work with people I love working with and do projects that make me genuinely happy and push me creatively.
“But in the end, I just want to really have fun doing what I love. And ‘Grantchester’ caters for those needs.
“I’m an executive producer, and at the beginning we knew we had something special and that would float the audience’s boat, but we never realised how popular it would turn out to be and how well it would be received around the world.”
Robson had promised that the upcoming series will feature some “gripping” stories as the unlikely duo of DI Keating and Reverend Will Davenport (Brittney) team up to solve more crimes.
He said: “There’s a murder every episode and the stories are really gripping.
“We start with a case where a biker is found dead in a field after a charity motorbike race. Geordie and Will both realise this is a murder and not an accident. Then Will gets involved in a tragedy where somebody loses their life and Geordie desperately wants to exonerate Will.”

‘My brain is just all over the goddamn shop’: Zoe Ball has been diagnosed with ADHD

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Ball has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The BBC Radio 2 presenter has revealed that the condition prevents her from completing what many will consider to be straightforward tasks and reared its head as she took part in a special New Year episode of ‘Taskmaster’ that airs on January 2.
Zoe – whose 23-year-old son Woody also suffers from ADHD – told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “My brain is just all over the goddamn shop.
“I am ADHD. My son (Woody) and I are both, we’re quite similar. I make myself laugh sometimes, because if I’m in a small space and I’ve got loads of tasks to do, I can cover so many miles.
“My family, they laugh because they’ll find things of mine in certain places and they’re like, ‘If you follow this, you’ll see what Mum was trying to achieve.’
“I have 18 pairs of glasses and I will still lose all of them… my brain is just all over the goddamn shop.”
Zoe revealed how she “physically started to meltdown” in a segment for ‘Taskmaster’ that required timing skills.
The 53-year-old star said: “So a particular task involved a bit of timing, which is maths, which is not a strength, I physically started to meltdown. That did hurt my head.”
Despite her troubles, Zoe explained that she took part in the Channel 4 show as she has a “mum crush” on hosts Greg Davies and Alex Horne.
She said: “A lot of people have mum crushes on both Greg and Alex. I’m not alone. There is something wonderful about being abused by them. People would pay for that.”

Lesley Joseph rules out more Birds of a Feather

OHMYGOSSIP — Lesley Joseph doesn’t want to make more ‘Birds of a Feather’ because she wants to do “serious theatre”.
The 78-year-old actress became a household name playing Dorian Green in the 1990s sitcom and though it previously returned to screens in 2014 for three series, as well as Christmas specials in 2017 and 2020, she doesn’t want to go back to the show again as there’s so many other projects she wants to try.
Asked if there’s plans for another revival, she told Bella magazine: “I don’t think so.
“I don’t really want to do any more because I’m in my 70s and there’s an awful lot of work I want to do now.
“I really want to get back to serious theatre.
“I’d love to do a play at the National, I’d love to do Shakespeare, all the things that I started with.
“But I don’t know when I’ll get the time, I’m booked up until summer with ‘Sister Act’ and then I want to explore something new.”
Lesley has been starring as Jac in ‘Jac and the Beanstalk’ in Cardiff this year and she adores being in pantomime every Christmas season.
She said: “It combines everything I love about theatre.
“I came into this business to do theatre and there’s something very magical about it.
“No matter what character I play, I always play it quite seriously, even if it’s funny.
“If it’s an evil character, you can be quite nasty, you work like stand-up because whatever the audience gives you, you can duck and dive around them. It’s magic!
“Some things will go above the children’s heads so the parents and grandparents get it, so it’s for the whole family and this keeps the theatre alive.
“If children don’t go to theatre when they’re young then they won’t grow up to love theatre.”
