Brie Larson's hopes for Captain Marvel character

OHMYGOSSIP — Brie Larson hopes her ‘Captain Marvel’ role will inspire young women.
The ‘Room’ star is set to take on the role of the Marvel superhero and hopes it will be a character young girls can look up to.
She told Space Channel: “On social media, I get sent a lot of pictures of young girls wearing the Captain Marvel costume, and I’m excited to see more of that. She (Captain Marvel) is such a great symbol for young girls, and I’m realising what a deficit we have – that we don’t have more of those.
“I think it’s really cool to see a girl in a Batman costume or Spider-Man costume, but I’m really excited that there’s a symbol for women. I think that that’s really important.”
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old actress previously revealed her job is “weird”.
Speaking about the shooting for ‘Free Fire’, she said: “I slowly got the most disgusting and intense bruises all up one side of my leg. It became progressively more and more painful and more and more awful-looking. My job is so weird. This is what I’m doing. How do I explain this to people? …
“For a month, every day I was crawling on the floor that had tons of rocks and things on it. So I had to sort of figure out, because I had one arm that’s bad too, you’re just sort of scooting and lifting your butt up and slamming it back down. You’re trying to crawl for your life.”

Daniel Radcliffe starved himself for role in Jungle

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe starved himself for his role in ‘Jungle’.
The 27-year-old actor went on an extreme diet in order to slim down for the role, in which he plays an adventurer who has been lost in the jungle for several weeks, and admits was “hard physically”.
He said: “It was hard physically because I wasn’t really eating. We were doing very long days and I was operating on not very much food.”
‘Jungle’ is based on the memoir by Yossi Ghinsberg that documents a trip through the Amazon that went wrong, and Daniel has revealed that he had to begin dieting four weeks before the shoot in order to get his body to the right weight for the role.
Elsewhere in the interview, the ‘Harry Potter’ star revealed he wouldn’t be completely averse to taking up the magical role again but thinks it might be something that’s better left “untouched”.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “I’m never going to close the door; that would be a stupid thing to do. But I think I’ll be happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it.
“At the moment it’s not even a concern because I’m too young to play the character, but even in 10 years’ time I would still feel strange about going back to it. There’s a part of me that’s like, some things are better left untouched. I don’t want to go back to anything like that and maybe sour what people have already loved.”

Amy Adams relishes leading role in Arrival

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Adams is delighted to have been handed the chance to play the lead character in ‘Arrival’.
The 42-year-old actress plays the lone female protagonist in the Denis Villeneuve-directed sci-fi movie and Amy is thrilled she was afforded the opportunity to star as Dr Louise Banks, a linguistics professor who communicates with Heptapods, the species that suddenly appears on Earth from outer space.
She told the BBC: “That was something Denis was constantly in touch with, that this film be all from a woman’s perspective.
“He was always saying ‘at the end of the day, it’s this woman’s story, it’s her journey, that’s all we need to worry about. Nothing else matters as much’.”
Meanwhile, Villeneuve said he hopes that one day, casting a woman as the lead in a movie like ‘Arrival’ will not be a big deal.
He said: “It shouldn’t ever be a question as to why we would choose a female lead for an action movie, and I hope that one day it will be normal rather than unusual.
“In some ways it’s not my choice this time as the short story on which Arrival is based, ‘The Story of Your Life’, depicts a woman scientist going through the process.
“But there is no doubt that a woman will have different reactions to communicating with alien life than a man, and it’s no surprise that it’s the woman in the group, Dr Banks, who is patient enough to break through and communicate with the Heptapods first.”

Stephanie Pratt is dating Joey Essex

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Pratt has reportedly fallen head over heels for Joey Essex.
The blonde beauty and the former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star met on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ and have since started dating.
A source told the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: “Joey and Steph have been inseparable all week and haven’t been able to keep their hands off each other.
“Joey’s been staying over at Steph’s home in Chelsea. They are already making plans for Christmas and talking about meeting each other’s family.”
Rumours of a burgeoning romance has been flying around ever since they recently appeared together on an episode of ‘This Morning’.
However, the duo have remained noticeably tight-lipped about the status of their relationship, refusing to confirm whether they are friends or something more.
Regardless of whether they are or are not dating, it appears unlikely that Joey will join Stephanie on ‘Made in Chelsea’ in the immediate future.
An insider shared: “It’s unlikely but could happen if things get serious. Joey actually gets on really well with a lot of the cast, including Jamie Laing and Binky Felstead. So who knows?”
The report comes shortly after ‘Made ‘n Chelsea’ favourite Lucy Watson officially quit the programme after four years.
A spokesperson said: “After four amazing years on ‘Made in Chelsea’, Lucy feels that now is the right time to explore some other exciting opportunities and projects that she is passionate about.
“Being part of such a successful show has been an incredible experience for her, and she wishes everyone involved all the very best for the future.”

“Luckily I lost the weight so young that I’ve got away with not having operations to take away skin.
“For me, though, it’s no longer about weight loss but it’s about my son and how long I can be on this Earth for, I want to see my great grandchildren.
“I want to be fit and health and my job, this is intense, we work long hours. If you’re off ill you hold everyone else up so it’s respect for other people, too.”

Emma Stone wins best actress gong at Venice Film Festival

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Stone won the Venice Film Festival’s best actress prize on Saturday (10.09.16) for her role in ‘La La Land’.
The 27-year-old star played the part of Mia, an aspiring actress and playwright, in the Damien Chazelle-directed movie, which also features Ryan Gosling.
Emma was not present to collect the prize and therefore recorded a video message for the audience.
She said: “I wish I was back there because Venice and Italy are so amazing and I can think of no better place than Venice to have premiered ‘La La Land’.
“We had such an amazing time and I will never forget it. I have to thank Ryan Gosling for being my partner on this movie, and especially Damien Chazelle for casting me. It was a dream come true.”
Emma previously admitted she relished the role because she felt able to identify with her on-screen character.
She said: “I definitely understood the feeling of moving to Los Angeles and having a dream to be an actor in films and to get to be a part of things that I loved and inspire people in some way.
“It’s pretty insane that we’re talking about this movie and it’s something that I’m so proud and excited to be a part of, when that is the goal of the character, is to be a part of something like this.”
Elsewhere at the festival, director Lav Diaz won the coveted Golden Lion for his film ‘The Woman Who Left’, which centres on themes of revenge after a wrongly convicted schoolteacher is released from prison.
Meanwhile, Tom Ford won the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize for his movie ‘Nocturnal Animals’, which stars Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Ola Jordan had sex on Strictly Come Dancing set

OHMYGOSSIP — Ola Jordan had sex with her husband James on the set of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The blonde beauty has revealed that she and her husband got “very passionate” in their shared dressing room after their busy work schedules had previously kept them apart.
However, their pre-show romp was overheard by former presenter Sir Bruce Forsyth, who was walking by their dressing at the time.
In her new book, serialised in the Mail on Sunday newspaper, the Polish dancer recalled: “We were running late for rehearsals by the time we emerged, breathless and looking a little bit flustered, having hastily thrown our costumes back on.
“‘Ola! James!’ a familiar voice boomed out. I knew immediately who this was: it was Brucie. His dressing room was close to ours and he had happened to be walking past our door at the exact moment we came out.”
Ola and James no longer star on the BBC talent show and are now the faces of Couples at Ann Summers, which specialises in sex toys and lingerie.
James recently admitted that despite being married to his wife for 13 years, he can still barely keep his hands off the 33-year-old star.
Asked which body parts of Ola’s he finds most attractive, James shared: “Her boobs. I love her bum, but her boobs – just lovely.”
And when Ola was asked the same questioned, she said: “I can’t tell you because it’s too naughty. OK, his second one is his bum.”

Nick Knowles spotted flirting with Gemma Oaten

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Knowles was spotted flirting with soap star Gemma Oaten at the recent TV Choice awards.
The ‘DIY SOS’ presenter – who split from his wife Jessica this year – and the ‘Emmerdale’ actress were seen in a late-night embrace outside the Langham Hotel in London after attending the awards bash earlier in the evening.
Gemma, 32, rested her head on Nick’s chest as they looked at his phone, while the pair were also spotted smoking cigarettes together and chatting in the street.
The day after the awards, Gemma tweeted: “Finally recovered @TVChoice awards. Safe to say ball was had! @MrNickKnowles @sally_lindsay @simonrim Paul O’Grady (sic)”
Nick split from his 29-year-old wife Jessica in January, although they have yet to file for a divorce.
Despite their separation, they remain on good terms and Jessica – who has a two-year-old son called Eddie with the presenter – has insisted she would have no qualms if Nick started a new relationship.
She previously said: “If Nick met someone and was happy, I’d be happy. I have so much respect and time for him.”
What’s more, Jessica – who revealed in July she had cervical cancer – credited Nick with saving her life after he made her visit her doctor.
She said, too, that despite their split, Nick has remained a supportive influence in her life.
Jessica shared: “He’s still there for me but it’s hard. I’m really sad we split.”

Jamie Dornan's Basinger nerves

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Dornan didn’t have “big enough balls” to ask Kim Basinger about her iconic movie ‘9 1/2 Weeks’.
The 34-year-old actor stars opposite the 63-year-old actress in ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ – the second installment of the raunchy franchise – and found the idea of asking her about the famously steamy film too embarrassing, in much the same way he suspects people will avoid discussing the ‘Fifty Shades’ saga with him in the future.
He admitted: “I didn’t ask Kim Basinger about ‘9 1/2 weeks’. I didn’t have big enough balls, in the way that maybe someone won’t be able to look m in the eye one day and talk about ‘Fifty Shades’.
The second movie – in which Jamie returns as kinky businessman Christian Grey opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele – sees James Foley taking over as director from Sam Taylor-Johnson, who departed the series amid speculation she didn’t get on with E.L. James, who wrote the original novels.
But Jamie thinks the author is right to have a “strong opinion” on the direction of the movies.
He told Total Film magazine: “These are Erika’s babies. She’s very right to have a strong opinion on all things ‘Fifty Shades’.
“But Erica and James Foley have a good relationship. They get on very well. He brings a different energy. He’s going to put his own stamp on it.”

Simon Pegg welcomed collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Pegg made ‘Star Trek Beyond’ more “collaborative” for the cast.
The British actor portrays Scotty in the sci-fi series and his appointment as one of the writers in the latest installment of the saga was good for his co-stars as he understood their roles very well and encouraged them to contribute their own ideas.
Chris Pine, who plays Captain Kirk, said: “If anything [Simon] heightened that sense of collaboration.
“He was on both sides, he could see it from different points of view at different stages of the shoot.
“He knows the characters so well and he’s known us for years so certain things would be tailored for each of us.
“Simon knows our strengths and our weaknesses.
“And with him, you felt completely open and welcome to throw in your own suggestions.
“You’re part of the whole soup, you’re throwing in ideas and mixing dynamics and it felt all very level.”
Chris found working on ‘Star Trek Beyond’ the easiest so far because there was much less pressure, and he now feels he knows his character well.
He explained to heat magazine: “There wasn’t one iota of pressure on the third one, which probably made it the most fun to work on.
“It gets easier with each movie, but I’ve never really felt a tonne on my shoulders.
“Well, maybe for the second one because it was coming off the first movie and the stakes were higher.
“So with this one, we’d proven ourselves and didn’t have anything to prove anymore.
“I feel like I know Kirk confidentially. Whereas before, he was this iconic legend you’re facing for the first time and you think, ‘Holy s**t, what did I get myself into?’ ”

Anne Hathaway wants Catwoman spin-off

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway would love a Catwoman spin-off movie.
The 22-year-old actress starred as Selina Kyle / Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and revealed she would jump at the chance to reprise the role.
In a Facebook Live chat with Variety, she said: “I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her. I’m not sure how it would work because I think the Chris Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up and I’m part of that, but I love the DC Universe and it would be fun to take a trip back.”
And while Anne would love to play Catwoman again, she is open to another actress taking over from her in the iconic role, which has also been played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.
She said: “It sort of goes with the territory when you accept it and receive it from the last Catwoman. I was shown such generosity from Halle and from Michelle, and so I would do that the next time as well.”
While Anne is interested in a spin-off, she could potentially star in Ben Affleck’s forthcoming standalone Batman project, which he will star in and direct.
Ben previously confirmed Deathstroke will be the villain in the upcoming film, which is as-yet untitled.
He posted a short video on Twitter of the character, who is also known as Slade, walking towards the camera looking menacing.
And fans have also started speculating that DC Comics supervillain Mr. Freeze could make an appearance in the movie as at the end of Affleck’s clip he panned out to a Titan Cool portable air conditioner.
One wrote: “Everyone’s freaking out about Deathstroke but what about the Mr Freeze reveal at the end? (sic)”
Deathstroke was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez and first appeared in DC Comic ‘The New Teen Titans’ #2 in 1980.
The character has a grudge against Green Arrow but his original enemy was the Teen Titans.
He has also gone up against Batman on several occasions in DC Comics following their first duel in 1991’s ‘City of Assassins’ story, in which Deathstroke badly beat up the Dark Knight.

Cate Blanchett needed time out

OHMYGOSSIP — Cate Blanchett says taking time out from her career has been a “luxury and a necessity”.
The 47-year-old actress took a break after adopting her daughter Edith and has enjoyed having a long period of quality time with the little girl and her sons, Dashiell, 15, Roman, 12, and Ignatius, eight, who she has with husband Andrew Upton.
She said: “We adopted our little girl 17 months ago so that’s been my focus really. It’s been really important to make sure everyone is all together, on the right ship, and taken care of…
“There was a time when I was doing things back to back – working, running the company with Andrew – and it all felt very squeezed, but I was afraid to slow down and say yes to what I really wanted.
“What has been great has been saying yes to slowing down, to reclaiming time for myself and my family. It has been a luxury and a necessity.”
However, the ‘Carol’ actress isn’t giving up work for good as she needs the “mental space” away from her hectic family life.
She added: “It doesn’t mean I’m not looking forward to going back to work. In a way, that’s a mental space for me away from the need or the cacophony of kids. Which I absolutely love.”
Meanwhile, though the blonde beauty admits there is “pressure” in getting ready for red carpet events because of the scrutiny female stars are under, she finds ways to ensure she still has fun.
She told Red magazine: “Everyone talks about the pressure of getting ready for an event because the scrutiny has increased to such a ridiculous degree. And we’re all party to it.
“But I absolutely enshrine the right to have a good time, to enjoy getting dressed up so it doesn’t feel like a job.
“I tell myself I’m excited. I tell myself they’re taking pictures but no one is ever going to see them. I just claim the space, I think.”

Chris Pine admires Ryan Gosling's career

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Pine wants to emulate Ryan Gosling’s success.
The ‘Hell Or High Water’ actor is a huge fan of the ‘Drive’ star’s career and thinks the “smooth operator” has made some very smart decisions when it comes to choosing a diverse range of projects.
Asked whose career he’d like to emulate, he said: “I think Ryan Gosling. He’s got a very intelligent handle on his position in the industry.
“He’s got a very strong presence in arthouse cinema, but keeps his feet on both sides of the ledge and that’s something I admire. He’s a very smart operator.”
Like Ryan, Chris admitted his good looks have sometimes hindered his career and he’s had to work hard to land gritty roles as directors were not convinced his handsome features were right for the parts he wanted.
He told heat magazine: “I don’t think I’ve ever struggled with this horrible burden but yeah, I’ve had to work beyond how I’m perceived, physically.
“And sometimes I’ve had to convince directors and casting guys that I’m right for the part.
“When I did ‘Smokin’ Aces’, it called for this redneck hillbilly with tattoos and I really wanted the role.
“But at the time, the director, Joe Carnahan, didn’t think I was right and didn’t have that rabid fire.
“I had to really convince him I could do it, just to give me that chance. It’s liberating not to have looks as a factor. I’m not a model. My looks shouldn’t come into it. It’s such an odd part of the job.”
