Felicity Jones' 'strange' Star Wars creatures

OHMYGOSSIP — Felicity Jones loved working with “strange creatures” on ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’.
The 32-year-old actress stars as heroine Jyn Erso in the forthcoming film and admitted she thoroughly enjoyed her time on set acting alongside various animals, including “monkeys with blasters”.
She said: “It was extraordinary. I got to work with monkeys with blasters and strange creatures with tentacles.”
Jones has been intrigued by the ‘Star Wars’ action figures made of her character – who the Rebel Alliance recruit to steal the Empire’s plans for the planet-destroying space station the Death Star – particularly when her nephew started trying to chew her head off.
She said: “It’s interesting seeing dolls – or ‘action figures’, as I should call them – of yourself. Especially when your nephew is chewing your head off!”
The ‘Theory of Everything’ actress is well prepared for the attention she will receive as a result of starring in the movie, which is set before the events of original 1977 ‘Star Wars’ film ‘Episode IV: A New Hope’, but after 2005’s ‘Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’.
Speaking to i, she added: “People have such affection for Star Wars. Whether they’re seven or 70, people have been touched by it. They do want to meet you and say ‘Hi,’ but that’s part of it.”
Jones will appear alongside Forest Whitaker, Riz Ahmed, Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn and Diego Luna in the motion picture.
‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ will be released on December 16.

Michael Douglas: My legs are 'too skinny' to do a period drama

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Douglas won’t star in a period drama because his legs are “too skinny”.
The 72-year-old actor has no plans to appear in a period movie or television show as he doesn’t think his legs would look good in breeches.
Asked if he would consider a period drama, he said: “If it’s a good script. But I’m not good in breeches – my legs are too skinny.”
And Douglas is looking forward to performing at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London and enjoys doing Q&As with the audiences when he takes to the stage.
He added: “I’m always happy to do audience Q&A’s. I’m happy to talk about anything – politics, religion, showbiz – and hopefully we’ll get a couple of giggles in.”
His wife Catherine Zeta-Jones spent two years of her life at the same theatre, starring in the West End production of ’42nd Street’, and Douglas is keen to uncover some secrets in the dressing room.
He explained: “I’ve always wanted to see the dressing room where she spent more than two years of her life. She will be in LA when I’ll be there so she won’t be able to give me a tour, but she told me what to look for in her dressing room – the secrets in the corners.”
Douglas has had a lengthy film career and played many different roles but he feels he is most like his character in ‘Romancing The Stone’ in real life.
He told Metro newspaper: “I’d like to think I’m like … Jack Colton in ‘Romancing The Stone’ – he’s a great character. That’s my romantic image! There is always part of us in every role we do. The thing is with me is every one of my films has been contemporary, realistic. I seem to be attracted to that grey area, where people are not heroes or villains.”

Gene Kelly's widow wants to meet Ore Oduba after Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Gene Kelly’s widow has asked to meet Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton after they performed a take on the late star’s classic ‘Singin’ In The Rain’ on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last weekend.
The 29-year-old sports presenter was left flabbergasted after Patricia Ward, who was married to the dancer from 1990 until his death in 1996, reached out to him to praise him on his breathtaking display for the show’s movie-themed week.
Speaking on ‘SCD’s spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’ on Thursday (13.10.16) night, he said: “It’s the closest that you would get to a blessing from Gene Kelly himself and that’s just unfathomable. And she’s said she wants to meet us.”
Patricia emailed Ore earlier this week to thank him for paying such a “beautiful” tribute to her late spouse and for putting his own take on such an iconic song and keeping him relevant.
Oduba uploaded a screenshot of the message on his Twitter account on Tuesday (10.10.16), which read: “I thought it was a beautiful tribute to Gene. He never wanted people to imitate his work, he wanted them to take it and create something new. Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton did this with grace and style. Gene always said that the point of his ‘Singin’ In The Rain’ number was to bring joy. Oduba and Clifton achieved this in their own way. It made me smile knowing that Gene is still very much present and ‘alive’ in the hearts and minds of very talented young people. Thank you for your graciousness and for affirming something else that was important for Gene – that it is okay for guys to dance. I was proud of you and Joanne for continuing Gene Kelly The Legacy. He would have been, too.”

Samantha Faiers slept with mittens on her hands

OHMYGOSSIP — Samantha Faiers used to sleep with mittens on her hands.
The ‘Sam Faiers: Mummy Diaries’ star has battled with Trichotillomania – an obsessive compulsive disorder that sees her rip her eyelashes out – since she was eight years old and, in a desperate attempt to stop her damaging her eyes during the night, her mother Sue put thick gloves on her hands.
Speaking in her new YouTube video, she said: “When I was younger, my mum took me to the doctors and he said, ‘Yeah, it’s Trichtillomania, it’s fairly common.’
“We tried everything. When I was younger, my mum would put mittens on my hands when I’d go to sleep.
“I done that really disgusting stuff you put your finger in when you were younger to stop you biting your nails, I done that so that it would sting. I tried everything but nothing worked.”
The 25-year-old beauty believes her OCD was triggered by her father going to prison when she was younger.
She explained: “It originally started when I was eight and a friend said, ‘If you pick out an eyelash and make a wish, it’ll come true.’ … In recent years I’ve seen a psychologist who specialises in Trichotillomania and the story goes deeper than just picking out an eyelash and making a wish. So I had a couple of sessions and they take it all the way back to when you were younger and your childhood and what triggered it
“And in my case, when I was younger, my dad went to prison so it all made sense after this session because I was picking out an eyelash and making a wish for my dad to come home.”
Although Samantha understands her wishes won’t come true if she pulls out her eyelashes, the blonde babe is still battling with the condition but has admitted it’s no longer her insecurity.
She said: “To me, now, I like the feeling of it. People say to me, ‘Doesn’t that hurt?’ But it’s like a comfort … I’m still doing it so I can’t really say I’ve got it under control.”
Samantha’s honest video is the third she’s released on her new YouTube channel since it launched on Friday (14.10.16).
The channel, which will have new videos uploaded every week, will navigate everything from beauty, fashion and life as a new mum to her nine-month-old son Paul.
She said: “I’m so excited to be launching my YouTube channel, this channel is my opportunity to share my life through my own camera, in my own words and with no scripts.
“I can’t wait to share my beauty essentials, the ups and downs of being a first time mum and just my everyday life.”

Anastacia arguing with Strictly Come Dancing partner

OHMYGOSSIP — Anastacia has reportedly been arguing with her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Brendan Cole over his lack of patience.
The talented ballroom and latin groover is known for taking his frustration out of his celebrity partners if they fail to pick up his routines quick enough, but it seems the ‘I’m Outta Love’ hitmaker – who recently ripped a muscle in her chest – isn’t taking his outbursts lightly and is giving as good as she gets.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Brendan is not the most patient of dancers. They’ve had to tweak all their dance moves because of her injuries – they can’t even do any lifts or sudden turns. His previous partners [in previous years] like Natasha Kaplinsky, Lulu, Kirsty Gallacher have dealt with his outbursts but Anastacia doesn’t take any crap and fights back.”
However, despite their backstage squabbles, the pair are determined to put their differences aside in order to put on a beautiful display at the weekend and climb up the leaderboard.
The insider explained: “But both are determined to make their relationship work on the dance floor and move up that table.”
The 48-year-old singer – who has had a double mastectomy – managed to scrape through to the next round in the first week of eliminations after she was banned from taking part in the dance off against Melvin Odoom due to her painful injuries.
And, although her pain mean she’s had to change some of the moves in her routines, Anastacia doesn’t want the judges to be lenient on her when she does her live performance.
She said recently: “The next dance, they’re making this arm be more of the Rumba and this arm is doing side stuff.
“They [the judges] do understand that I may not be able to do a lot of lifts but lifts aren’t mandatory in any dance. They’re allowed in three of the dances in the show. In order to stay, I want to feel like I can compete on a level that everyone else is.”

Harry Hill's TV Burp was going 'downhill'

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Harry Hills’ TV Burp’ was starting to go “downhill.”
The 52-year-old host believes his comedy show, which ran from 2002 until 2012 – was taken off air at the right time because the ratings were starting to dip and he wanted it to end on a high.
He explained: “I know that if we’d kept doing ‘TV Burp’ it would have gone downhill. People would have been over it. And actually the ratings were beginning to go down and it wasn’t quite the must-see programme that it was.”
The comedian – who is known for his impersonations – will return to television screens this weekend for his new Sky1 series ‘Harry Hill’s Tea-Time’, which is a bizarre take on cooking shows, but has admitted he can see the resemblance between both programmes, although they are also very different.
He explained to Digital Spy: “I think for my money this is as funny as ‘TV Burp’, and I think at times it’s funnier and I think it’s very different. I think the key is not to make something similar.
“Broadcasters and other people always want you to repeat the same thing over and over again, but you have to keep your nerve, otherwise it’s boring, isn’t it?”
However, Harry believes ‘Tea-Time’ is one of the “funniest things” he’s ever done and is something new for TV.
He said: “I think [‘Tea-Time’] is one of the funniest things I’ve ever done and I think it’s inventive and it’s kind of fresh and not like anything else on TV.”
The first episode, which will hit television screens on Sunday (16.10.16), will see ‘Great British Bake Off’ judge Paul Hollywood carving a kebab into the shape of George Michael.
He explained: “He was good fun. I was surprised, because I was always a bit scared of him on ‘…Bake Off’. I mean, I think you could probably push him too far! And the first time I met him on the set he was dressed as a silver fox. He’s standing there and he’s looking at me like, ‘What have I got myself into here?’ ”

Frankie Bridge to take part in Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special

OHMYGOSSIP — Frankie Bridge, Pamela Stephenson and Ainsley Harriott will star in this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Christmas special.
The Saturdays singer – who came second in the competition in 2014 – will join the clinical psychologist and well-loved TV chef, who took part in the show in 2010 and 2015 respectively, for the forthcoming one-off episode over the festive period.
Details on the glitzy feel-good special are being kept under wraps for the time being but it’s believed it will be based on old Christmas movies, according to the Daily Star newspaper.
Some of the contestants from the current series of the show are also expected to take part in the popular one-off episode alongside their professional dance partners.
And it’s not just old stars being lined up for the programme, as experienced dancer Kristina Rihanoff – who quit last year in order to have her daughter Mila, now three months – has admitted she’d be open to taking part in the annual episode.
She said recently: “I’ve been watching it [‘Strictly Come Dancing’] and it’s a little weird to be on the other side. I wouldn’t have wanted to go back. Not because I didn’t love the show, but ‘Strictly’ has such an intense schedule.
“Having a family makes our priorities shift so much. I don’t want to miss Mila growing up. But never say never. I would maybe go back for the Christmas special.”
Meanwhile, the current series has only been on screens three weeks but it’s already been filled with drama, injuries and feuds.
Melvin Odoom and Tameka Empson have been eliminated by the judges, Anastacia has ripped the muscle in her chest and now has to take it easy, while Will Young announced earlier this week that he had quit the show due to “personal reasons”.

Jamie Borthwick returns to EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Borthwick has returned to ‘EastEnders’.
The 22-year-old actor’s alter ego Jay Brown hasn’t been seen in Walford since he left last month to supposedly visit his grandfather up North, but viewers were in for a shock in Thursday (13.10.16) night’s episode when Pam Coker (Lin Blakley) found the troubled young man sleeping rough as she dropped her dead grandson Paul Coker’s (Jonny Labey) old clothes off at a homeless shelter following his brutal murder.
The flower stall holder – who used to be a social worker – managed to persuade the drug addict to return to Albert Square because his best friend Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid) is really struggling after the death of his boyfriend Paul and needs him.
Jamie told the RadioTimes.com: “Did I know that when Harry joined the show that I would have a brother and a best friend for life? No I didn’t. But that’s what he’s become.
“I love him to death and I’d do anything for him. I’m looking forward to a really strong future for the two of us.”
Jay’s life began to spiral out of control earlier this year when he began dating Linzi Bragg (Amy-Leigh Hickman) because it later turned out that she was actually a school girl and, by her sending him saucy pictures, he’d committed a child sex crime.
The mechanic – who was unaware of the youngster’s age when he was dating her – was found guilty of the crime and was placed on the sex offenders’ register for three years.
The verdict led to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), who had taken him under his wing when his father Jase Dyer (Stephen Lord) was beaten to death in 2008, chucking him out.
However, Jamie is convinced his alter ego may be able to worm his way back into the alcoholic’s home before Christmas.
He explained: “I’m hoping it’ll get back to normal as quickly as possible. I think he’ll get back in there a little bit.”
And, although the festive season is usually a time for tears, tantrums and deaths in Walford, Jamie has revealed the Mitchells are in for a “quiet” Christmas this year.
He said: “It’s not how it usually is this Christmas. Expect a bit of shock. It’s a mixture of happy and low key.”

Anna Kendrick's creepy kiss

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Kendrick’s first on-screen kiss was “creepy”.
The ‘Pitch Perfect’ star has recalled how she smooched a 15-year-old boy in the movie ‘Rocket Science’ when she was 19-years-old.
She said: “I kissed a boy who was 15 or 16 so I felt pretty creepy.”
And when the 31-year-old actress first moved to Hollywood at the age of 17, she shared an apartment with a 27-year-old but promised she wouldn’t need babysitting.
She recalled: “Her reaction was like, ‘I’m not looking to babysit anyone.’ And I was like, ‘Don’t even worry about it, girl! I’m a professional.’ And then I proceeded to do my best impression of a functioning adult – and I’m still doing it!”
And Anna also opened up about her first audition, admitting she never got the job.
She told E! News: “My first audition was for Annie – both like when I was five-years-old and auditioning for community theatre and my professional audition when I was 10-years-old was for the Broadway revival of Annie. I did not get the jobs.”
Meanwhile, Anna previously admitted she never had “a backup plan”.
She said: “I got some terrible advice when I was really young, which was not to have a backup plan. I had this singularity of focus. I never considered doing something else.”
Anna is also considering taking a six month break from acting.
She shared recently: “It’s hard to take a step back and see if there’s something I should be doing differently. At some point I’ll have to take a good six months off and not make movies.
“But working for 14 hours a day for months at a time is not sustainable. Not being on a set means you can explore the world and enrich your life. It’d probably be wise to invest in those things.”

David Tennant voices Buck Douglas in Fireman Sam: Alien Alert film

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tennant has voiced a character in the new ‘Fireman Sam: Alien Alert’ film.
The 45-year-old actor brings UFO hunter Buck Douglas to life in a movie version of the popular children’s cartoon which will see Sam on the big screen in January 2017 to mark the character’s 30th anniversary.
Tennant is familiar with aliens as he played the Tenth Doctor in BBC sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’ from 2005 until 2010 and he is thrilled to be bringing some intergalactic mystery to ‘Fireman Sam’.
The thespian – who has four children with his wife Georgia Moffett -said: “‘Fireman Sam’ is a true institution of children’s television so naturally it was a joy to be asked to guest-voice the character of Buck Douglas the new special, ‘Fireman Sam: Alien Alert’. I had a lot of fun in the studio bringing Buck’s character to life and I’m certain he’ll be a big hit with audiences when he appears on screens throughout the world in the movie. He’s slick and smug, but his adventurous and gregarious persona, as well as his UFO investigative adventures, makes the kids – and quite a few of the grown-ups – want to be just like him!”
‘Fireman Sam: Alien Alert’ will see TV alien hunter Buck come to Pontypandy, and the town gets a little over-excited at the prospect of featuring on Buck’s ‘Alien Quest’ TV show.
With UFO sightings and mild peril on the increase, Fireman Sam sets off to find out what’s behind all this sudden alien activity, but when a big stunt by Buck Douglas goes awry and causes a forest fire, the team have to work together to get everyone to safety and Fireman Sam becomes even more determined to get to the bottom of the mysterious events happening in Pontypandy
Tennant is joined in the cast by Steven Kynman as Sam, Elvis and Norman and Tegwen Tucker as Penny for the animation by Xing Xing.
Christopher Keenan, senior vice president of global content and executive producer at Mattel Creations, is delighted to have had the chance to work with Tennant on the CGI feature.
Keenan said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to have David Tennant on board as our guest-voice for Buck Douglas in the forthcoming ‘Fireman Sam: Alien Alert’.”

Jesy Nelson slams The X Factor

OHMYGOSSIP — Jesy Nelson has slammed ‘The X Factor’ for letting novelty acts through into the live round.
The 25-year-old singer – who won the ITV talent show in 2011 with Little Mix – has admitted if the likes of Honey G and Bratavio made it the final stages of the competition when the ‘Black Magic’ hitmakers competed, she would have been annoyed because it’s “unfair” when so many “incredible” singers are let go.
She said: “I don’t think it’s fair that novelty acts get through. I get it in that it becomes a little niche thing and everyone finds it funny, but I just think it’s so unfair when so many incredible people don’t get through.
“If that would’ve been [the case] on our year, I would’ve been f****d off.”
The girl group – also comprised of Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – all stand by Jesy’s comments.
Jade added: “Even in our year there were artists like Kitty [Brucknell] who were seen as novelty, but she was still an incredible singer.”
And while Leigh-Anne says while there is “no excuse” for the judges, Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh, giving into the such artists she knows how the show works and understands it is for “entertainment” purposes.
She told Digital Spy: “At the same time you have to remember that ‘The X Factor’ is an entertainment show – they want to get people watching.
“You have to take it for what it is, as annoying as it can be. It’s funny watching it because we know what goes on behind closed doors.
“We know how it all works. And you do know when you’re on the show who gets more camera time and all that.”
Little Mix will return to ‘The X Factor’ on Saturday (15.10.16) for their first live performance of their new single, ‘Shout Out To My Ex’.

Darcey Bussell: Will could've made Strictly final

OHMYGOSSIP — Darcey Bussell thinks Will Young could have “easily” reached the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ final.
The 47-year-old show judge admitted it was “horrifying” to hear the 37-year-old singer had quit the show when he had so much potential, but insisted his exit was nothing to do with the star clashing with her fellow panellist Len Goodman.
She said: “It’s horrifying to think that somebody who could have easily got to the final [has left]. But you know, like in anybody’s lives, you have many things that are going on and it is not to do with Len Goodman – just to make that clear.”
Darcey admitted it was “sad” that Will, who cited “personal reasons” for his departure, quit the programme, but she isn’t sure of the exact reason he decided to hang up his dancing shoes.
She added to Mail Online: “It’s sad. Unfortunately, being a judge we are not allowed to see the rehearsals or what happened during the week so you don’t know the ins and outs and you only arrive on the day of the live show.”
The former ‘Pop Idol’ winner’s surprise exit came just two days after he locked horns with Len over his Bollywood-inspired Salsa routine on Saturday (08.10.16).
The 72-year-old ballroom dancer thought the display lacked the traditional dance moves of a Salsa.
But Will argued back that his routine contained all 24 counts needed.
Len had the last word by telling Will to “show up, keep up, and shut up.”
Fans were hoping Will’s exit would mean a return for last week’s eliminated celeb, ‘EastEnders’ star Tameka Empson, but ‘Strictly’ bosses confirmed that would not be the case.
A show rep said: “The series will continue as planned with an elimination every week until the grand final. The previously eliminated contestants will not be returning to the competition.”

Ride Along 3 in development

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Hart and Ice Cube are expected to return for ‘Ride Along 3’.
Director Tim Story has revealed a script for the forthcoming movie is in development by screenwriters Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, and the filmmaker is “impatiently” waiting to see what the scribes have come up with next for the comedy duo.
He told TheWrap: “We’re writing the script right now, we’re writing away and basically, I’m waiting to see some pages and we’re excited for the idea and what it can be and of course bringing Kevin [Hart] and Ice Cube back together because they are the greatest odd couple in the world.
“I’m impatiently waiting for a script to be given to me. We have some great ideas.”
Story directed the first two ‘Ride Along’ movies which have both been success stories, grossing more than $225 million at the US box office alone.
The first motion picture in the franchise was released in 2014 and saw Hart’s character Ben Barber go on a police ride along with his girlfriend’s brother, officer James Payton (Cube), to prove to his significant other’s sibling that he is worthy of marrying her.
The film featured Laurence Fishburne as Omar, the boss of a Serbian smugglers gang who Payton is trying to take down.
Tika Sumpter played Ben’s girlfriend Angela Payton and John Leguizamo starred as detective Santiago.
‘Ride Along 2’ was released in January 2016 and saw Hart and Cube’s characters head to Miami to try to bring down crime lord Antonio Pope (Benjamin Bratt) and his hacker A.J. (Ken Jeong).
The movie also featured Olivia Munn and saw Sumpter reprise her role as Angela.

Fantastic Beasts becomes 5-part movie series

OHMYGOSSIP — J.K. Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ will be a five-part movie series.
The forthcoming ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off was expected to only be a standalone film, but the award-winning writer has now revealed Warner Bros. are developing several installments of the franchise.
A post on the movie’s official Twitter page reads: “@jk_rowling has just confirmed the magic continues in a total of FIVE MOVIES! We can’t wait #FantasticBeasts (sic)”
The 51-year-old author is the screenwriter for each film and has also revealed she is close to completing the script for the second motion picture.
In response to a fan’s question on Twitter, she wrote: “I’m the screenwriter. Currently putting the finishing touches to the second one.”
The fantasy movie series stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander and sees filmmaker David Yates returning to the director’s chair.
The 34-year-old actor recently admitted he “grilled” Rowling about his character the first time he met her.
He said: “I got to meet J.K. Rowling. I had about three or four months prepping the film, and just about a month I think before we started filming.
“I was here in Leavesden and J.K. Rowling came and it was this sort of brilliant or slightly odd moment in which David Yates sort of introduced her and I knew that she was only gonna be here for an hour and I think I was sort of like, ‘Hello, nice to meet you!’ And just basically grilled her for an hour.
“She came to set the other day and I was like, ‘I am so sorry.’ But it was so phenomenal.”
Redmayne stars in ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’ with Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell, Ron Perlman and Katherine Waterston among others.
The first movie is slated to be released in November 2016.

Gary Barlow to book Robbie Williams for Let It Shine

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Barlow wants to book Robbie Williams for the final of his new TV show ‘Let It Shine’.
The 45-year-old singer has been busy working on his upcoming star-search contest but is enjoying his sometimes Take That bandmate’s new music and is hoping the ‘Party Like A Russian’ singer will promote his LP ‘Heavy Entertainment Show’ on the programme.
He said: “We heard most of [Robbie’s] music over the summer. It’s been a few years since he had a record, so it’s time, it feels good.
“I hope he will be coming on the show, maybe the final.”
The ‘Patience’ hitmaker is enjoying working on the programme as it feels “good and real”, though it has taken a lot of work.
He explained: “I’ve been writing my parts for the next album, taking meetings, and a lot of time lately has been spent on developing ‘Let It Shine’. Doing TV shows takes time – not just the filming but the mechanics of it.
“It’s not like a live show or doing a tour. There’s a lot of people and a lot of rules because you are putting it on in front of a load of people on a Saturday night.
“But it feels good and it feels real, because it is – there is a real end to it, there is a real job at the end of it for everyone.”
Though Gary – who has children Daniel, 16, Emily 14, and Daisy, seven, with wife Dawn – is incredibly busy at the moment, he wouldn’t have it any other way.
He told HELLO! magazine: “I’ve got so many projects that I’ve been working on for about four years – like ‘The Girls’, the musical for the West End, but then they just come out at the same time. It is full-on, but I love it.”

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer teases origins of the Death Star

OHMYGOSSIP — The new trailer for ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ teases the origins of the Death Star.
The preview for the much-anticipated standalone movie in the sci-fi franchise reveals how the Rebel Alliance came into possession of the plans for the moon-sized space station, which was used by The Empire to destroy Princess Leia’s home planet Alderaan in the first film in the franchise, 1977’s ‘Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope’.
The trailer shows a group of rebel operatives trying to retain the plans as the Galactic Empire closes in led by Darth Vader.
What’s more, the trailer offers fans their first glimpse of Mads Mikkelsen’s Galen Erso, the father of the main character Jyn Erso, who is played by Felicity Jones.
Galen is critical to the plot line, as he is influential in the destruction of the planet Alderaan.
Meanwhile, Felicity revealed admitted her ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ fight scenes were “exhausting”.
The 32-year-old actress said the action scenes took “a lot of hours of practice”.
She explained: “I’m laughing now, but at the time, it was physically exhausting. It took a lot of hours of practice, and I worked with a kung fu coach, and I learned to fight, even though I never thought beating up Stormtroopers was something I’d be doing in my job. It came through hard work and lots of practice and rehearsals.”
Felicity also previously admitted she knew her line in the ‘Star Wars’ movie, “may the force be with us”, would be “momentous”.
She said: “I have to say it was one of those moments that I was really nervous about for weeks before. I kept walking around my house just trying out the line.
“I’d just be in the bathroom and be like, ‘May the force be with you. May the force be with you. May the force be with you.’ You just go over and over and over again because I knew it was such a momentous moment for the film.”
