Emma Willis 'desperately' misses Marvin Humes

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Willis “desperately” misses Marvin Humes.
The 40-year-old presenter teared up when she was asked about her former ‘The Voice’ co-host, who she worked with for three years, and praised him for how supportive he’s been towards her, despite him reportedly being axed from the new series of the spinning-chair talent show following its recent shift to ITV.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Thursday (20.10.16), she said: “I will desperately desperately miss Marv. He’s just brilliant and he’s really supportive and I’ll cry if I talk about him anymore!”
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty recently revealed some major changes coming to the show, which sees new judges Gavin Rossdale and Jennifer Hudson join returning coach Sir Tom Jones and long-time panelist will.i.am on the panel. .
Emma – who will front the show alone now – has teased a change in format for the forthcoming series that’ll see the panel banned from swinging round to see the contestants unless they put themselves forward as a mentor.
She explained: “If you don’t push your button for a contestant, you don’t get to see them. So only the people who press the button get to see who it is, so if no one turns, no one sees who sung.”
However, the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ host thinks the change will be “good” for the show as it’ll force the judges to be less apologetic towards the contestants.
She explained: “I think it is good – they do it in other territories on ‘The Voice’ around the world, and it instigates different chat between the coaches. When they see someone who hasn’t turned, it’s very apologetic.
“But if they haven’t seen that person and don’t have to interact directly, it’s a bit more ‘that was a little bit off key’, where they might not have said having seen them. So I think it’s a good thing for the show.”

BBC to launch new cookery show next year

OHMYGOSSIP — A new cooking show is set to launch on the BBC next year.
The broadcasting channel only lost the rights to their hit series ‘Great British Bake Off’ to rival Channel 4 five weeks ago, but it seems bosses are wasting no time finding a replacement as they’ve decided to commission a new culinary programme with the working title ‘The Big Family Cooking Challenge’ for the beginning of 2017.
BBC’s Acting Head of Formats and Features, Donna Clark, said: “I’m thrilled to be taking food competitions in a different direction. A passion for food starts in the family kitchen and this format will take us into homes up and down the country, where we’ll meet Britain’s most passionate and exciting families of cooks.”
The upcoming series will follow a number of families from different generations as they go head-to-head to be crowned the nation’s best home chefs.
Across the series, a group of judges will visit the homes of the contestants to sample their mouth-watering menus and whittle down the participants in a bid to find the best dish.
Following the backlash of the ‘GBBO’s move, it’s hoped the new 12 60-minute episodes will bring the “feel good” factor and “warmth” back to our screens.
Although the finer details about the show are being kept tightly under wraps for the time being, there are hopes Mary Berry will judge on the series as she recently announced she was quitting the ‘GBBO’ following six years out of “loyalty” to the BBC.
The 81-year-old culinary queen’s decision came just days after the show’s hosts Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc also revealed they were turning their backs on the series.
A source said recently: “We’ve got three of the fab four staying with us. We’re thrilled. The chances of us reuniting Mary, Mel and Sue are very high.”
However, not everyone is staying with the BBC as Mary’s co-judge Paul Hollywood has decided to follow the show over to Channel 4 when it makes its switch later this year.

Little Mix think Honey G is 'real deal'

OHMYGOSSIP — Little Mix think ‘The X Factor’s Honey G is “the real deal.”
The ‘Black Magic’ singers – who won the singing competition in 2011 – previously claimed that the wannabe rapper was an “actress” and didn’t have any real talent but it seems the band’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock has since had a change of heart as she’d love to see her make the final because she’s doing “really well” so far.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (20.10.16), she said: “You know what, let her do her thing. She’s doing well and she probably will end up in the final […] I heard that she never comes out of character, so I think she’s the real deal.”
It girl group’s sudden change of mind comes less than a week after they returned to the programme to perform their latest single ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ and, although they’ve sold out arenas around the world, they were riddled with nerves beforehand.
Jesy Nelson explained: “We cannot even describe how scary it is […] until you’ve done that whole experience, I can’t describe the feeling that you get. I think it’s because you still feel like you’re being judged. And you feel every time you go on you’ve got to be better than your last performance. It’s just terrifying!”
Despite a jaw-dropping vocal performance, the band came under fire for their “racy outfits”, which saw them wear leotards and thigh-high boots, but they think people took aim at their ensembles because they had nothing else to criticise.
Jade Thirlwall said: “It’s a bit double standards, you always see lads with their tops off and everyone congratulates them and woos them, and we get a bit of thigh out and it’s a bit of an issue! We were really comfortable in our outfits and we loved what we wore.”

Richard Osman snubs The Jump

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Osman has turned down a mega-money deal to appear on ‘The Jump’.
The ‘Pointless’ host has been approached by bosses of the winter sports show to take part in the forthcoming series in January but he has admitted he’d never agree to join the Channel 4 programme because he believes the format was “100 per cent” pinched from one made by production giants Endemol, where he is creative director.
Taking to his Twitter account on Wednesday (19.10.16), he said: “Just got asked if I’d consider appearing on ‘The Jump’. Considering it was 100% ripped off from an Endemol format it’s a possible no from me.
“Been working in TV for 25 years, similar ideas swim round all the time ‘The Jump’ is the only time I’ve genuinely felt wronged by others. (sic)”
The 45-year-old presenter didn’t divulge which show he believes ‘The Jump’ was “ripped from” but it’s believed he may be referring to his series ‘The Games’.
The latter show ran on Channel 4 from 2003 until 2006 and saw celebrities compete in Olympic-style events such as gymnastics, diving, weight-lifting, kayaking and hurdles.
‘The Jump’ – which was initially called ‘The Alpine Games’ – has a very similar layout in that stars compete in winter sports including ski jumping, skeleton and bobsleigh.
However, a representative from Twofour – which produces the popular show – is adamant they never took anyone else’s idea and it’s completely “original.”
A spokesperson told the Daily Star newspaper “We’re big fans of Richard’s but it’s pointless to suggest ‘The Jump’ is anything other than an original idea by Twofour.”
‘The Jump’ is scheduled to return in three months’ time but it’s thought bosses may be struggling to secure 12 celebrities to take part this time around after more than half were badly injured in the last series and are still battling with their aches and pains now.
Beth Tweddle was among those seriously hurt as she broke her back and required months of rehabilitation to help her walk again, Mark-Francis Vandelli snapped his ankle and needed two operations, while Tina Hobley dislocated her shoulder.

James Wan teases Aquaman movie

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Aquaman’ will be a “swashbuckling action adventure”.
The film’s director James Wan has teased details about the upcoming DC Comics movie starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe.
He said: “I kind of don’t want to give too much away but know this: The spirit that I’m going for is like a classic sort of swashbuckling action adventure, sort of high seas adventure story. It’s ultimately a quest story in the spirit of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ meets ‘Romancing the Stone.'”
Momoa (Aquaman) and Heard (Mera) will be making an appearance in ‘Justice League’ and Wan believes this will give the “world a flavour” of what their standalone movie will be like.
He told Entertainment Tonight: “I think Amber and Jason Momoa, in their moments in ‘Justice League’, are going to give the rest of the world a flavour of what their own standalone movie could be. And that is just scratching the surface of what I plan to do.”
Amber is really looking forward to playing the underwater queen – and the wife of Aquaman – and is very excited about her costume.
She said: “Yeah, yeah I have. It’s interesting. It’s like, half suit of armour, half scales. I don’t know, it’s strange. But we’re in the process of building it now, so it’s coming along.”
Meanwhile, ‘Justice League’ wrapped filming a couple of days ago with the movie’s stars taking to social media to share pictures of the wrap party.
Posting a picture of himself with Ben Affleck (Batman), Momoa wrote: “My man. The batman love ya bud @benaffleck we did it that’s a wrap Mahalo to @guinness and @highlandparkofficial for taking care of aquaman and the JL crew. Odin my favorite ALOHA j (sic)”
‘Aquaman’ is slated for release in 2018 whilst ‘Justice League’ will hit screens in November 2017.

Daisy Ridley is envious of Felicity Jones

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley is slightly envious of Felicity Jones.
The 24-year-old actress has admitted she would love to be reliving her ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ press tour and is a little jealous that Felicity will be doing the same for ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ soon.
She said: “It was weird, I’ve talked so much retrospectively about what was going on [in the lead-up to ‘Force Awakens’]. It was so odd to be reliving it. And she gets to go talk about this film that she’s part of in all these amazing places.
“I feel like ‘jealous’ is the wrong word, but I had such a good time in the run-up to the film, and it was all so exciting. Knowing that she’s experiencing that is so great. Plus the film’s meant to be amazing, so it’s a fantastic continuation of the ‘Star Wars’ world.”
The pair recently met up on the other side of the globe from their native Britain where they discussed their experiences on set.
She added: “Oh God, I didn’t give her tips. She’s like a proper human being. She’s got everything nailed … We just talked about our filmmaking experiences. And I’ve been a huge fan of hers for a long time. Have you ever met her? She’s so great. So just to chill was really nice.”
And Daisy is looking forward to seeing the new ‘Rogue One’ film when it is released later this year.
She told Yahoo! Movies: “I’m very excited to see it … I don’t know [if I see any similarities between the characters]. That’ll be interesting when I watch it. But I don’t watch things and think in that way. So I think I’m just gonna watch it and be blown away.”

Brendan Cole getting videos of Anastacia in training

OHMYGOSSIP — Brendan Cole has asked for videos of Anastacia rehearsing with his temporary replacement Gorka Marquez to be sent to him while he’s on strict bed rest.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional was forced to pull out of training this week after he contracted a nasty chest infection but, despite doctors’ orders to remain in bed and rest up, the tough-talking dancer is determined to keep an eye on his partner.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “He’s keeping an eye on what they’re [Anastacia and Gorka are] doing [in rehearsal]. It’s his thing, his routine.”
The 40-year-old star was rushed to hospital last weekend after he was struggling to breathe during training but, despite the nature of the illness, he went on to dance a day later during the live show with Anastacia and, subsequently, ended up in the bottom two.
The pair won the dance-off against journalist Naga Munchetty but it’s unclear whether the New Zealand hunk will be well enough to perform with the pop star this weekend.
A spokesperson said: “Brendan is hoping to be better for this Saturday.”
The dancing duo haven’t had the best of luck so far in the competition as Anastacia has also battled with ill-health and has found herself in the bottom two twice already.
The 48-year-old beauty – who has had both breasts removed following two bouts of breast cancer – was forced to alter her routine at the last minute after she tore her mastectomy scar tissue in the first week of training.
The extent of her delicate injury meant she was banned from performing in the dance off against Melvin Odoom and the radio presenter was given the boot after he received the lowest amount of votes from the public the night before.

The Voice to get brutal new twist

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Voice’ is set to get a new brutal twist that’ll force the judges to dish out gut-wrenching critical feedback during the red-chair blind auditions.
Emma Willis – who will front the show alone now that it’s moved across to ITV – has teased a change in format for the forthcoming series that’ll see the panel banned from swinging round to see the contestants unless they put themselves forward as a mentor.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the brunette beauty said: “If you don’t push your button for a contestant, you don’t get to see them. So only the people who press the button get to see who it is, so if no one turns, no one sees who sung.”
However, the 40-year-old presenter thinks the change will be “good” for the show as it’ll force the judges – Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale – to be less apologetic towards the contestants and a lot more critical.
She explained: “I think it is good – they do it in other territories on ‘The Voice’ around the world, and it instigates different chat between the coaches. When they see someone who hasn’t turned, it’s very apologetic. But if they haven’t seen that person and don’t have to interact directly, it’s a bit more ‘that was a little bit off key’, where they might not have said having seen them. So I think it’s a good thing for the show.”
For the past five years, the show has aired on the BBC but it’ll now swap across to rival channel ITV after bosses snapped it up for an impressive price earlier this year.
Bosses at the network have wasted no time switching up the format and even ditched last year’s coaches Paloma Faith, Ricky Wilson and Boy George for a new panel.
Will.i.am is the only judge to feature on the show since the beginning in 2012.

New Willy Wonka film coming

OHMYGOSSIP — A new Willy Wonka film is in development.
A new standalone adventure based on the eccentric chocolatier character created by late children’s author Roald Dahl is in development after Warner Bros. Pictures was granted a license from the Roald Dahl Estate to revive Wonka on the big screen.
According to Variety, the movie will serve as a prequel to the events of the book ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and its sequel ‘Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator’ focusing on the early life of the candy man.
Charlie Bucket who wins a golden ticket to go on a tour of Wonka’s magical chocolate factory will not feature in the movie but could make an appearance if the film sparks a franchise.
‘Harry Potter’ producer David Heyman has been handed the task to bring to the project to cinemas with ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ writer Simon Rich penning the screenplay.
Since the original book was released in 1964 it has lived on in two movies and on the stage.
The first film, ‘Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory’, was released in 1971 and saw the late great Gene Wilder take on the role of Wonka.
Tim Burton then revived the characters in 2005’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ film with Johnny Depp playing the wacky Wonka.
Dahl’s imaginative story got a stage musical adaptation in 2013 courtesy of David Greig, who wrote the script, and Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, who penned the music and lyrics. It is still running at the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane, London, but is due to end in January 2017.

Although the handsome star is determined to get his work on cinema screens around the world, he’s decided to start off small with a scripted television series.
The show, which is currently under the working title ‘Apollo Park’, will tell the story of a gifted basketball player’s rise to fame and the effects his success has on his family.
Jordan will team Eric Amadio – known for his work on the 2007’s ‘After Sex’ – to co-create and executive produce the series, while Evan Silverberg, Kenny Goodman, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross will also provide their expertise.

Jamelia 'axed from Loose Women'

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamelia has been axed from ‘Loose Women’.
The 35-year-old singer has been dropped from the panel of the all-female talk show after making some controversial comments about plus-sized clothing.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Jamelia really annoyed bosses with her comments on high street shops selling bigger clothes.
“The show is often close to the bone but those comments were the final straw.
“Loose Women’s viewers come in all shapes and sizes and the producers don’t want them to be offended.”
The decision to kick the ‘Superstar’ singer off the panel follows comments she made in an episode of the show which aired in April.
She said during the episode: “I think everyone should have access to lovely clothes, but I do not think it’s right to facilitate people living an unhealthy lifestyle.
“I don’t believe stores should stock clothes below or above a certain weight. They should be made to feel uncomfortable when they go in and can’t find a size.”
It’s not all bad news for the ‘Thank You’ singer though, as she’s picked up another job with ITV, on ‘This Morning’.
The star now presents a segment – which aired for the first time last week – in which she focuses on beauty for black women.
The news of Jamelia’s departure from the show comes after it was recently revealed that fellow panellist Katie Price was going to be taking a break from the programme to work on her marriage to Kieran Hayler.
A source said: “Bosses are trying to steer well clear from all the drama in [Katie’s] love life.”
A spokeswoman for ‘Loose Women’ said: “Jamelia is currently filming some new items for ‘This Morning’ and Katie will be back on the panel after her break.”

Emmerdale stunt to be 'biggest in soap history'

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ star John Middleton will be involved in the “biggest stunt in soap history” this week.
The 63-year-old actor’s character, vicar Ashley Thomas, will be in an horrific car crash in which his motor is to barrel roll leaving him unconscious and viewers wondering or not whether he is going to die.
The scenes were shot at Pinewood Studios – where ‘Star Wars’ is made – and producer Iain MacLeod insists the dramatic stunt is the closest thing a soap has ever got to being like a Hollywood action movie.
He said: “Basically I’m saying ‘Emmerdale’ is seven times better than ‘Star Wars’.
“This is definitely the biggest week I’ve been involved in – it’s massive, there are so many different incidents.
“It’s about the most cinematic thing you’ll ever have seen in soap.”
The fast-paced nature of shooting a soap meant ‘Emmerdale’ bosses had to film the action sequence much quicker than it would take on a movie set.
Iain added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “The stunt director said we are achieving in three or four days what some shoots might take three weeks to do.
“We’re in the cars with the characters, see their emotions. It’s spectacular and could compete with Hollywood – but it’s also got a vicar and chickens.”
Other characters will be involved in the smash which makes up part of a dramatic week of ‘Emmerdale’ episodes.
Viewers have been made aware that one character is going to meet their maker this week as each episode has begun with a coffin being lowered into the ground.
However, it’s not known who is going to pass away.

Colin Firth in Mary Poppins talks

OHMYGOSSIP — Colin Firth is in talks to join the cast of ‘Mary Poppins Returns’.
The 56-year-old actor has entered negotiations about the role of William Weatherall Wilkins, president of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank, in the forthcoming film, according to Variety.
Should Firth sign up for the Disney project he will star alongside Emily Blunt, who has landed the lead role in the movie.
Meryl Streep will portray Mary’s cousin, Ben Whishaw is to appear as Michael Banks with Emily Mortimer as Jane Banks, and Lin-Manuel Miranda will star as a street lamplighter called Jack.
Rob Marshall is to direct the movie as well as produce the motion picture alongside John DeLuca, and Marc Platt.
Blunt recently admitted the titular role is her “dream” part.
She said: “It is my dream.
“I mean, she’s such an iconic nostalgic figure for people. So it’s a gift to give to my kids that I get to be this generation’s Mary Poppins.”
Blunt has already started learning the songs ahead of rehearsals beginning next month, but admitted she is both “scared and thrilled” to be a part of the film.
She said: “We did an incredible workshop of the script a few weeks back. It’s so heart racing, so exciting. It’s a complete different re-imagining of the whole thing. And I’m scared and thrilled to be in it and it’s cool.”
The original ‘Mary Poppins’ movie was released in 1964 and starred Julie Andrews in the titular role and Dick Van Dyke as Mary’s closest friend Bert.

Paul Hollywood threatens son over GBBO result

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Hollywood “threatens” his son not to give the ‘Great British Bake Off’ result away.
The baking competition is filmed in advance, with the family and friends of those involved in the show enjoying a garden party finale, and the 50-year-old judge admits he’s resorted to withholding finances in a bid to stop 14-year-old Josh – who he has with wife Alexandra – from spilling the beans.
He admitted: “My son Josh comes to the final every year, but he’s threatened with no pocket money if he says anything about who wins.”
Despite spending weeks with the contestants, Paul insists he and co-judge Mary Berry have no idea who will win the show until the final day.
He said: “You can’t make your minds up about a finalist early on – even when you get to the final and you know the three that will be on it, you think, ‘Oh I don’t know.’ ”
And the panelist thinks the standard of this year’s competition has been higher than ever, thanks to the huge success of 2015 winner Nadiya Hussain, who took the contest to a “whole new level”.
He added to Closer magazine: “I think the bakers felt that extra pressure for the first time this series. But because of that, the standard this year got really good.
“It was so rewarding, in different ways, to previous shows.”
And show presenter Sue Perkins – who co-hosts the competition with Mel Giedroyc – feels sorry for this year’s hopefuls as the standard has been raised higher than ever over the last few series.
She said: “The bar has been set so high over the last three series, they know what the standard is. I feel for them.”

Selasi Gbormittah leaves The Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Selasi Gbormittah has been booted off ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
The baking hopeful was kicked out of the semi-final of the BBC One baking show after failing to impress in patisserie week.
Speaking after his exit, he said: “It’s a massively great achievement personally for me and my family for getting to the semi-finals. It’s been absolutely amazing and splendid. I loved it all.”
And Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood were equally disappointed to see Selasi go.
Mary shared: “No one’s more sad than me to say goodbye to Selasi. What a character, what a baker.”
Whilst Paul added: “I’m very proud of Selasi. I think he’s a great baker. And he’ll carry on doing it.”
Selasi failed to wow Mary and Paul with his 24 palmiers and his savarin in the technical challenge and whilst he delivered some well-flavoured fondants for the showstopper, it wasn’t enough to save him.
Jane Beedle managed to secure her place in the final by the skin of her teeth and she was no doubt relieved to reach the last stage of the competition.
She said: “I don’t have words. I really don’t. I could cry. I’ve been close to crying all day.”
Elsewhere, Andrew Smyth secured the star baker award and he admitted he wasn’t expecting to triumph in such a tense week.
He shared: “It’s absolutely incredible to be in the final and to get star baker as well. I wasn’t expecting that.”
Andrew will be joined by Jane and Candice Brown in the final, which will air on BBC One on Wednesday October 26.
