Mary Berry will work with Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc on new show

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary Berry has confirmed she’ll work with Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc on a new show following the trio’s decision to bow out of the ‘Great British Bake Off’.
The 81-year-old culinary queen broke hearts across the country earlier this month when she announced she was leaving the cooking show a few days after the hosting duo revealed they were walking away as well, but she has admitted, although they’ve all decided to quit the series, they’re planning to team up on a new programme next year.
Speaking on ‘The Chris Evans Breakfast Show’ on BBC Radio 2, she said: “We will do something because we’re good pals, and who knows what it would be? We haven’t been approached yet, but we would love to do something together. I love their humour.”
Although the threesome are yet to sign up to their next project, it’s believed bosses at the BBC are hoping to get them on board their forthcoming culinary programme, which has the working title ‘The Big Family Cooking Challenge’, for the beginning of 2017.
BBC’s Acting Head of Formats and Features, Donna Clark, said: “I’m thrilled to be taking food competitions in a different direction. A passion for food starts in the family kitchen and this format will take us into homes up and down the country, where we’ll meet Britain’s most passionate and exciting families of cooks.”
The upcoming series will follow a number of families from different generations as they go head-to-head to be crowned the nation’s best home chefs.
Across the series, a group of judges will visit the homes of the contestants to sample their mouth-watering menus and whittle down the participants in a bid to find the best dish.
Mary announced she was leaving her judging role behind after she found out that the ‘GBBO’ was moving across to Channel 4 after they outbid the BBC, which has screened the show since 2010, to the rights in a deal worth an estimated £75 million.
Mary said: “It was a gut feeling. It was gut feeling and I made it straight away to myself, having discussed it with my family and others. I’m really happy I’ve stayed with the BBC. Everything I’ve ever done really has been with the BBC and I wanted to be with them.”
However, not everyone is staying with the BBC as Mary’s co-judge Paul Hollywood has decided to follow the show over to Channel 4 when it makes its switch later this year.

Samantha Womack to go back to comedy?

OHMYGOSSIP — Samantha Womack wants to go back into comedy.
The 43-year-old actress will bow out of ‘EastEnders’ as Ronnie Mitchell early next year and is hoping her permanent departure will make room for a revival of ‘Babes in the Wood’ – the sitcom she starred in during the 90s – as she’d love nothing more than to sink her teeth into something light-hearted following nine years in the downbeat soap.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: “A lot of things I’ve been attracted to have been the opposite of Ronnie. I was looking at re-runs of ‘Babes in the Wood’ the other day, and everyone is saying ‘It’s the comeback season, you should bring it back.’ I was watching online thinking, ‘Yeah, it would be nice to bring it back and do it again.’ Mainly I just need to remember what it’s like to be outside of the ‘EastEnders’ family.”
The blonde beauty told bosses of the soap that she was planning to quit earlier this year but, although she’s looking forward to shooting the dramatic bloody scenes that will air in the new year, she never expected them to kill her off.
She explained: “It’s a job – it has to have an end at some time. I’ve done many things over the years, but I never had the opportunity to have complete freedom. It’s a strange time for me and it’ll be even stranger filming the last scenes.”
Samantha’s on-screen sister Rita Simons – who plays Roxy Mitchell – is also expected to die in the horrific scenes next year and they’ll both miss working with one another as they’ve spent almost a decade together portraying the double act.
She said: “I’ve probably spent more time with that one individual than I have with any of my family working together 14 hours away, and we’ve never had an argument.”
Details on Ronnie and Roxy’s grisly end are being kept tightly under wraps but it seems their deaths won’t be without fight as they’ll reportedly take their last breath under water.
A source said recently: “Their [Ronnie and Roxy] exit is one of the big dates in the soap calendar. The swimming pool scene they’reworking on will be huge and a real talking point for ‘EastEnders’ fans. It’s going to be a grisly and gruesome death.
“From the minute it was revealed they [Samantha and Rita] were leaving, and even before, the writers have been trying to think of a brilliant way to kill them off.”
It’s not yet known how the siblings end up in water but Ronnie (Samantha) has certainly racked up her fair share of enemies over the years after she snatched Kat and Alfie Moon’s (Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie) baby son following the traumatic cot death of her child James Branning in 2012, murdered her sister’s boyfriend Carl White (Daniel Coonan) in 2013, bribed her husband Charlie Cotton (Declan Bennett) to leave Walford and locked Arthur ‘Fat Boy’ Chubb in the boot of a car that was subsequently crushed at a scrap yard last year.
And Roxy (Rita) has her own fair share of problems as she’s recently got herself caught up in drug dealing and was almost raped by Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), who was arrested after the incident but later freed following a not guilty verdict.

Friday the 13th will be a POV horror

OHMYGOSSIP — The new ‘Friday the 13th’ movie will not be a found footage film but will be a gore fest with a hard R rating.
Iconic hockey mask wearing psychopath Jason Voorhees is being resurrected for a reboot which will now be released in October 2017 – 47 years after the franchise first began.
The movie was initially scheduled to come out early next year but was pushed back after the producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form told Paramount Pictures that Jason’s Camp Crystal Lake killing spree wouldn’t work as a found footage film – a staple of the horror genre now – because viewers need to experience the story from Jason’s perspective stalking his victims.
In an interview with Collider.com, Fuller – who co-produced the 2009 reboot with Form – said: “We always wanted to go back to Crystal Lake and make another one. There were so many obstacles to surmount to get to where we are today. I’m not going to bore you with all of them … Then there was an execution issue. At one point, the studio wanted us to make a found-footage version of that movie and that was deeply concerning to us because we didn’t think we could execute the movie in the right way if it was a found-footage movie.”
Form added: “Jason is a POV movie. It was very hard to wrap our head around how you would do a ‘Friday the 13th’ that was found footage, knowing that we really need the Jason perspective of watching. We didn’t want to break the DNA of that. We also battled: do we do a sequel to the original? Do we pick up where we left off with Jared and Amanda at the end of the movie? Somehow, that didn’t find a home. So, it’s been eight years. It will be eight years since we made the last one. We have found the lake, we have found the camp. We found an amazing script by Aaron Guzikowski. Breck Eisner is directing the movie. That movie is shooting in early Spring.”
Fuller – who also produced ‘The Purge’ series with Form – has also promised fans that there will be lots of references to the slasher franchise’s long history in the new movie because it is the thirteenth film to be made, whilst also being completely accessible to newcomers.
He explained: “Look, it’s the thirteenth ‘Friday the 13th’ movie. There’s been a lot of mileage between the first one and the thirteenth one. What we don’t want to do is alienate the audience who hasn’t seen the preceding 12 ‘Friday the 13th’ movies. Aaron Guzikowski’s job, as challenging as it is, is to come up with a movie where if you haven’t seen any go the other ones, you can still come and see this one and love it and not feel like you’ve missed out on anything. And if you have seen the other ones, we want this to feel fresh. That’s what took the longest amount of time: coming up with a story and then executing a script that fulfils both those mandates.”
Next year promises to be a bumper time for Jason fans as a ‘Friday the 13th’ video game is being released which allows you to control the killer or one of the camp counsellors trying to escape his murderous clutches.

Gerard Butler to star in threequel Angel Has Fallen

OHMYGOSSIP — Gerard Butler will reprise his role as Secret Service agent Mike Banning in ‘Angel Has Fallen.’
The Scottish heartthrob brought the action hero to life in 2013’s ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ and ‘London Has Fallen’ earlier this year and has agreed to take on a third movie in the lucrative franchise.
A director is yet to be appointed, however, Magnificent Seven’s Antoine Fuqua helmed the first movie and it scooped an impressive $160 million at the worldwide box office, whilst this year’s offering made $195 million under the direction of Babak Najafi.
Butler will produce alongside Alan Siegel, Mark Gill, John Thompson, and Matt O’Toole and fans of the action blockbusters will be delighted to hear the plot is steering in a similar direction to its predecessors and will see Banning fight back against an onslaught of attackers.
“Angel” is the code name for Air Force One indicating the US president is at the centre of the fracas this time around and Washington D.C. will likely take a battering.
Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt have returned to write another money-spinning script and production is set to star in early 2017.
Butler is known for performing his own stunts in Hollywood but recently revealed his career almost ended prematurely on stage during a production of Shakespeare’s ‘Coriolanus’.
He recalled: “We were supposed to be these revolting citizens so [the director] puts us all together and he gives us the script… it’s very physical theatre so they wanted 12 guys running.
“Run, turn, say the line, run, turn, say the line.
“But we all had stakes in our hands so we go and I turn this way and the guy next to me goes and sticks a wooden stake right in my eye.
“I thought I’d lost my eye, and then I had a black eye probably for two weeks.”

Olympian Sam Quek joins I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Olympian Sam Quek will compete on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’
The 28-year-old hockey player took home the gold medal for Great Britain in the Rio Olympics this summer, and now she’s headed into the Australian jungle as ITV bosses have lined her up for ‘I’m A Celeb…’
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Sam ticks all the boxes for producers. She’s a hugely successful Olympian and is gorgeous to boot.
“Producers think the personality that has made her a hugely popular member of the GB hockey team will shine through on camera.
“She’s got a bit of experience as a swimwear model too so it goes without saying that they hope that will result in some waterfall scenes that the show is so famous for.”
The sports star will join ‘Gogglebox’ star Scarlett Moffatt, ‘Emmerdale’ actor Adam Thomas, radio host Lisa Snowdon, England cricketer Monty Panesar, and broadcaster Danny Baker in the jungle.
With the show not airing until next month, there’s still plenty of time for more names to be announced, with McFly frontman Tom Fletcher expected to join the show as another contestant.
The 31-year-old musician sent rumours into overdrive earlier this week when he posted a photograph on Instagram of a cockroach sitting on a bed of stuffing that he’d received in the post.
He accompanied the suspicious upload with the caption: “You know it’s going to be a cool package when you open it to find this,” followed by a scream face and thumbs up.
The ‘Love Is Easy’ hitmaker wouldn’t be the first of his band mates to enter the wilderness either, as Dougie Poynter was crowned the winner of the show in 2011.
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ will air on ITV in November.

Sherlock season 4 to air on January 1, 2017

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Sherlock’ will return to screens on January 1 2017.
A new trailer for the BBC show aired after the final of the Great British Bake Off on Wednesday (26.10.16) night, revealing when Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will return as Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson.
‘The Six Thatchers’ will be the first of three episodes, which also includes ‘The Dying Detective’ and a third, as yet unnamed episode.
Speaking recently about the upcoming dramatic fourth season, Benedict hinted that fans might need a break after all of the excitement.
He said: “First and foremost we have got a fourth series for people to watch and understand and when they watch it they might go ‘Oh yeah, maybe there does need to be a break now’ because of what happens in it. No spoilers!”
And he admitted that fans could have to wait longer than ever before for the next installment after these episodes air.
He said: “I think there will be a lull. I don’t think it will be in a year and a half necessarily but we will wait and see and maybe it will be.”
And Benedict assured fans that his role as Dr Strange in the Marvel movies will not affect filming on ‘Sherlock’.
He said: “Let me put that one straight, that is nothing to do with this.
“They moved the schedule to accommodate Sherlock, there is a lot of mutual love between those two enterprises and there is no reason why one cancels out the other.”

Kevin Hart in talks for Dashing Through the Snow

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Hart is in talks to join Disney’s ‘Dashing Through the Snow’.
The 37-year-old actor is being lined up to take on the role of Santa Claus in the Christmas adventure.
‘Dashing Through the Snow’ follows a New York City detective who has a strained relationship with his son. The only thing that may be able to repair his fractured family is Santa Claus, who has the ability to make the man believe in magic.
The project is based on an original idea by Scott Rosenberg, and has Will Packer and John Jacobs on board to produce. Rob Burnett is penning the original script.
No-one has yet been confirmed to take up directorial duties on the project, and no other casting announcements have been made.
The role of the jolly old man is just up Kevin’s street, as he previously joked that he had entered old age at 36, and was “turning into Morgan Freeman”.
He said: “I’m turning into Morgan Freeman. I don’t know what’s going on. I think my older age is just going straight to my hair … It’s weird because only half of it goes grey, so it’s like I turn into this weird villain that didn’t make it to Marvel.
“I have to dye it to black, [but] only when I have events. Other than that I don’t care. It is what it is.”
As of yet, ‘Dashing Through the Snow’ has no release date, and no confirmed date for the start of shooting.

The Crow actor Michael Massee dead at 61

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Massee has died.
The actor- who accidentally fatally shot ‘The Crow’ co-star Brandon Lee on the set of the 1994 film – passed away this week from undisclosed causes, at the age of 61.
Anthony Delon – Massee’s co-star in the 2014 French TV series ‘Interventions’ – first announced the news on Instagram, writing “R.I.P. my friend Michael. You were ‘five seconds away from a clean getaway’ (sic).”
And Michael’s agent later confirmed the news to Variety.
His ‘Rizzoli & Isles’ co-star Angie Harmon tweeted: “My heart is heavy to hear of his passing. He was IMMENSELY talented & had the kindest soul. I am privileged to have known him. #RIPMichaelM (sic).”
And Jon Cassar, an executive producer for ’24’, wrote: “Sad to hear of the passing of Michael Massee who played Ira Gaines, 24’s first villain in season #1 RIP (sic).”
Michael’s part as Funboy in ‘The Crow’ was only his second ever feature role but it was to end in tragedy.
On March 31, 1993, the crew improperly prepared a gun for a scene in which Funboy shoots Lee’s character Eric Draven, accidentally creating a live round.
Massee fired the gun, shooting Lee in the stomach and the actor passed away in hospital later that day after unsuccessful surgery.
Speaking about the devastating tragedy, Michael – who reportedly never watched the movie – said: “I don’t think you ever get over something like that.”
He took a year off from acting but returned to take on roles in movies including ‘Tales From The Hood’, ‘Seven’, ‘Lost Highway’, ‘Amistad’, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’.
He also had parts on TV in ‘Fringe’, ‘Supernatural’, ‘CSI’, ‘House’, and ‘Flash Forward’.
Michael is survived by his wife, Ellen Massee, and their two children.

Bill Ward to be stay-at-home dad

OHMYGOSSIP — Bill Ward is a stay-at-home father following his shock exit from ‘Emmerdale’.
The 49-year-old actor bowed out of the long-running soap last week after his alter ego James Barton suffered a seizure and tragically died in hospital but, although his departure came out of the blue, he’s decided to put his future work on a back-burner while he looks after his sons so his wife can return to her screen work for a bit.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Bill said: “My other half is an actor as well and while I’ve been doing ‘Emmerdale’ she hasn’t been able to work. So I’m looking after our two little ones while she goes back to work, which I’m very pleased about.”
However, the handsome star – who first joined the soap in 2013 – certainly isn’t short of work following his shocking exit as he’s been cast as evil Ebenezer in ‘Aladdin’.
He said: “I’m in panto playing the evil Ebenezer in ‘Aladdin’, which I’m delighted about.”
Bill’s character James met his early grave last Friday when his crazed wife Emma (Gillian Kearney) pushed him off a bridge and into the oncoming traffic on a busy road.
Despite the dramatic plunge he took, James managed to survive the journey to hospital and a few hours in intensive care but he stood no chance when Emma was allowed into his room and blocked his oxygen tube, which ultimately led to his shocking fit.
Bill said: “I was delighted with the story. It wasn’t just a stunt that was dreamt up, it came from these two people – James and Emma – who don’t really get on, and this was probably our one and only chance to go with this outcome. I loved the writing, so I was chuffed to bits […] We did use a bit of green screen for that, and the stuntmen and women have been really extraordinary. I mean, us actors try to do as many of the stunts as we possibly can, but jumping off bridges is not one of them. I was extremely blessed to have some terrific guys standing in for me on that.”

Candice Brown wins The Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Candice Brown has won ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
The sports teacher triumphed in the gripping final of the BBC One show, beating Jane Beedle and Andrew Smyth to the crown.
Speaking after her win, she said: “Never ever did I think I’d ever even get on this and I’m standing here now with [the trophy]. And they said my name. And that means more to me than anyone will ever ever realise. It really really does …
“I wished and I hoped it [the bake] was OK but you just don’t know. Jane and Andrew are so good. They’re so good … I’m good enough. I don’t know what to say but thank you. What an opportunity.”
Judge Mary Berry praised Candice’s “determination and passion” whilst Paul Hollywood dubbed her as “one of the best”.
Mary said: “Her determination and passion, she really has excelled. [Her bakes] had wonderful flavours and everything always looked gorgeous.”
Whilst Paul added: “If you look back on some of her bakes, they’re beautiful. She nailed it and she’s one of the best.”
Whilst Andrew was “a little disappointed” to miss out on the crown, he praised Candice’s consistency.
Speaking after the result was revealed, he shared: “Candice has been fantastic throughout. I’m chuffed for her. Of course, I’m a little disappointed but actually, to be able to walk out there at the end and to see everyone, it was really special.”
Meanwhile, Jane had nothing but kind words for Candice, quipping she had predicted the teacher would win the series from the beginning.
Jane said: “The best baker today won. I’m really happy for her. Week after week, Candice has got better and better. I predicted it! It’s my first prediction of the series that has gone through … She has done so well. She’s an absolute star.”
The finale saw the three contestants begin by creating beautiful meringue crowns. Whilst Candice and Jane impressed, Andrew’s effort fell short of Paul and Mary’s expectations.
However, in the technical challenge – where the hopefuls were asked to deliver the perfect Victoria Sandwich – it was Andrew who wowed Mary and Paul with his version of the classic cake.
And this year’s competition featured the biggest showstopper of them all, with the bakers tasked with creating 49 individual baked goods including a chocolate cake, sausage rolls, savoury scones, mini quiches and fruit tarts.

Chloe Ferry wants another nose job

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Ferry wants to have another nose job.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star only went under the knife to alter her snout earlier this year but still doesn’t feel content with the way it looks and has gone back to her surgeon to discuss having another rhinoplasty to make sure she eventually gets the desired shape.
She explained: “I want a second nose job. I’m not happy with my first and I don’t like it at all. The way I pictured my nose in my head is not what I feel now. I feel like I need another one and I am going to get it. I didn’t rush into the first but its not what I wanted.”
The 21-year-old beauty has undergone numerous lip fillers, eyebrow-lift injections, veneers and Botox since she first joined the boozy show at the age of just 19 but she has admitted, despite the heavy criticism she’s received, she has no regrets.
Speaking to the MailOnline, she said: “I don’t have any regrets. I feel like I look a lot better now. I don’t like natural. When I see before and after pictures I think I’ve changed so much. When I see pictures from when I first went to ‘Geordie Shore’, I think: ‘Woah. Was I that ugly?’ I wasn’t gorgeous! […]
“It doesn’t bother me what people say. I think if you don’t like something and you’ve got the money just do it. If you can afford it just do it if its gonna make you happy.”
However, the brunette babe hasn’t always had the money to waste on surgery as she was battling with money issues before she joined the MTV programme in 2013.
She said: “Before I did ‘Geordie Shore’, I had no money and I couldn’t afford to get to college then I went on ‘Geordie Shore’ and got my lips done. That’s what I wanted.
“I wanted my lips more than college. My lips are my best bit. They’re very natural now. My mum said I need to stop but now she doesn’t say anything. I’m way past the natural look. I’m about in Africa now with the natural look I’m never coming back.”

Marnie Simpson doesn't want Lewis Bloor on Geordie Shore

OHMYGOSSIP — Marnie Simpson doesn’t want Lewis Bloor to join ‘Geordie Shore’.
The 24-year-old reality TV star has a habit of documenting her love life on the boozy MTV show, but she’s adamant she’ll never ask her boyfriend, whom she has been dating since August when they hit it off in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house, to feature on the series because she knows how much he wants to leave television behind.
She explained: “I’ll never involve Lewis in ‘Geordie Shore’… I’ll never let that happen with Lewis. It’s not his style he’d never try. There’s not a question that we’ll survive this.”
However, although her lover won’t be entering the infamous house with her this series, Marnie will no doubt have a lot of drama coming her way as her on/off ex-boyfriend Aaron Chalmers, who she’s currently not talking to, has also agreed to return.
She said: “Lewis is not worried about ‘Geordie Shore’. There’ll be a lot of arguing between me and Aaron so Lewis has nothing to worry about. Lewis knows a lot about me. I love Lewis more than I’ve loved any of them so […] It wont be an issue.”
Although she desperately wants to be involved in the current series, Marnie doesn’t know how long she’ll continue to feature on the show as she’s toying with the idea of buying a house in Lewis’ hometown Essex, South East England, to be closer to him.
Speaking to the MailOnline, Marnie – who currently lives in Newcastle – said: “I’m thinking about moving to Essex. I need to see if I’ll enjoy it because I am a homely person. I waste so much money on hotel and travel it’ll probably be cheaper.”

Stephanie Davis craves milk

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis has been craving milk.
The 23-year-old actress is just three months away from meeting her baby boy but she has admitted the pregnancy symptoms are yet to subside and she can’t stop guzzling the dairy liquid and stuffing her face with as much greasy grubs as possible.
Writing in her column for OK! Online, she said: “The baby is doing really well too. I can tell he’s growing lots this week because I’ve not been able to stop eating – I’m hungry all the time! No joke, I had a cheese and ham sandwich, a roast dinner, four yogurts and large bag of pretzels the other night! I’m also craving milk. Can’t get enough of it! I’ve read up on it and it’s at this stage when he starts getting all of his strength and has a growth spurt so I’m definitely feeling that. I’m getting so tired too. I know I have a lot to do but I’m now in my third trimester so I need to get as much rest as I can.”
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star hasn’t had the easiest pregnancy so far as she also battled with acute morning sickness in the first and second trimester and was hospitalised for excruciating pain in her stomach, which doctors initially feared was early labour.
She said at the time: “I ended up going to hospital. My mum was going to call an ambulance. They checked me out and they actually thought I was in early labour because I was having what they thought was early contractions. I was on the gas and air. Gas and air was really weird, I didn’t know what was going on.”
And it’s not just cravings and sickness Stephanie – who is due to give birth early next year – has been dealing with as she’s also noticed her boobs have drooped.
She said: “I’ve started getting stretch marks on my boobs which are fine because that’s proof of my beautiful pregnancy, but I am starting to worry about how big they’re getting! It didn’t bother me at first because I was like ‘woo! look at my mangos!’ as I’ve always wanted big boobs but now, I need them to stop growing! I’m going to need a personal boob carrier at this rate.
“They’re killing me too because they’re so big – I can’t even see my tattoos anymore. I’m worried in a few weeks they’ll be touching my belly button …”

Laura Whitmore returns to Strictly Come Dancing training

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Whitmore has returned to training for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 31-year-old presenter is delighted doctors have given the green light to start rehearing with her professional partner Giovanni Pernice ahead of this week’s live show after she injured her ankle and was forced to sit out of last week’s running.
Taking to her Twitter account on Wednesday (26.10.16), she said: “Back to training….I’m quite a bit behind and being very careful. But will try my best guys! (sic)”
Laura was given permission by bosses to miss last weekend’s show and given an automatic pass through to this week due to the extent of her injury but she’s terrified she won’t be able to perform and will be left with no choice but to withdraw.
Writing in her blog for Glamour Online, she said: “You’re allowed to miss one show if the doctor says you are not physically fit to dance – but only one.”
Although she’s glad she’s allowed to put weight back on the injured ankle from today and start learning the steps for her new routine, the blonde beauty is worried the gruelling training sessions could cause the joint to become inflamed again.
She said: “The fear is, if it’s not fully recovered it could get inflamed again. We have a lot to catch up on but I’m not ready to throw the towel in just yet. It’s too much fun (yes despite the wonky ankles, tears and stress it’s the best show to be part of!)”
Doctors believe Laura’s injury stemmed from too much jivving – the dance she was learning for last week’s show – and were concerned she’d ripped the ligament.
She explained: “I was diagnosed with myotendinous strain of the right flexor hallucis longus muscle (sounds like a Harry Potter spell) caused by overuse through training and repeating one particular dance step. I was told by the physiotherapist to stop putting pressure on my foot straight away as so much fluid had built up and there was a risk if I kept going I would tear the ligament.
“An ultrasound on Friday [last week] confirmed the swelling had built up and the excessive fluid was causing me a lot pain but fortunately the ligament wasn’t torn. We discussed the option of an injection of a strong pain killer and for them just to let me dance on Saturday but I was advised this wasn’t the best course of action.”

Benedict Cumberbatch praises Judge Rinder on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Benedict Cumberbatch is “so proud” of his friend Judge Rinder on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 40-year-old actor has been trying to tune in to the ballroom and latin show every week to watch his good friend – whose real name is Robert Rinder – hit the dance floor with his professional partner Oksana Platero because he thinks he’s doing such a good job.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Wednesday (26.10.16), he said of the television star: “He’s a friend, I am so proud of him! I watched a bit of [his court show] ‘Judge Rinder’ but I know Rob Rinder and watching him on this is phenomenal.”
However, although he takes his hat off to the barrister, the ‘Sherlock’ star is adamant he’d never agree to take part in the competition himself because his dancing skills aren’t up to scratch.
He said when asked if he’d sign up to it in the future: “I’m nowhere near their standards.”
Benedict met Rinder at university in Manchester and they’ve been friends ever since.
The Hollywood hunk even asked the law professional to be his best man at his wedding when he tied the knot with his beautiful partner Sophie Hunter last year.
A source said at the time: “Benedict had three best men, but only one was famous – and that was Judge Rinder. There was speculation that he chose another actor, but he wanted genuine old friends in the role. They kept it pretty quiet. They were friends before either found fame.”
Meanwhile, in between watching his friend on ‘Strictly…’ and filming his new movie ‘Doctor Strange’, Benedict has thrown himself back into shooting the fourth series of ‘Sherlock’.
The hunk – who portrays the handsome detective Sherlock Holmes in the popular drama – can’t wait for fans to see the forthcoming installment of the mystery show as it’s the “best ever.”
He said of the next series: “What I will say in general again is nothing new unfortunately, we try and up our game every time.
“This will be the best series ever and there are moments in it that are just jaw dropping and that’s kind of the nearest we get to the impact from the audience is reading the script.”
