Friends cast hated theme song I'll Be There For You

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Aniston says the cast of ‘Friends’ hated the theme song ‘I’ll Be There For You’.
The 47-year-old actress – who played the bubbly Rachel Green in the long-running US sitcom – has confessed that she and her co-stars, including Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Courteney Cox, disliked the 1995 classic by The Rembrandts and weren’t keen on playing around in a water fountain in the iconic intro to the programme.
During an appearance on BBC’s ‘The One Show’ on Tuesday evening (22.11.16), she admitted: “No-one was really a big fan of that theme song. I don’t mean to say that. We felt it was a little, I don’t know. Dancing in a fountain felt sort of odd but we did it.”
However, the blonde beauty did confess to watching endless reruns of the hit comedy, which run from 1994 to 2004, because she enjoys going on a “nostalgia” trip as she has forgotten half of the episodes they filmed.
She said: “I can’t help [but watch]. “First of all, I’m trying to remember which episode it is. Then, half of the time I’m saying to myself, ‘I don’t remember that’! It’s just that you can get sucked in to the nostalgia of it.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer recently admitted she is at a career “crossroads.”
She explained: “This is a time when I’m not completely sure what I’m doing. I’m at this sort of crossroads trying to figure out what inspires me deep in my core. What used to make me tick is not necessarily making me tick anymore … The most challenging thing right now is trying to find what it is that makes my heart sing.”

Adam McKay to direct Dick Cheney film

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam McKay is to direct a movie about Dick Cheney.
The ‘Step Brothers’ filmmaker has completed on a screenplay for the as-yet untitled motion picture about the former vice-president of the US for Paramount Pictures, and is hoping to start shooting the film by the spring ahead of a potential 2017 release date.
He told Deadline: “I’ve always found Cheney fascinating.
“Questions of what drove him, what his beliefs were; but once we started digging I was astounded at how much he had shaped modern America’s place in the world and how shocking the methods were by which he gained his power.”
McKay will team up with Plan B producers Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, as well as Will Ferrell and Kevin Messick, following the success of ‘The Big Short’, which the director helmed.
Cheney served as vice-president for eight years from 2001 to 2009 under George W. Bush.
Following the September 11th attacks, he played a leading role co-ordinating the global war on terrorism, and was often criticised for advocating so-called enhanced interrogation techniques, including waterboarding.
Cheney previously worked for former presidents Richard Nixon, and Bush’s father George H. W. Bush.
What’s more, Cheney – who has an openly gay daughter – was a supporter of homosexual marriage, despite the Bush administration not advocating it.
It won’t be the first time he has been portrayed on the big screen as he was played by Richard Dreyfuss in Oliver Stone’s 2008 movie ‘W’, in which Josh Brolin starred as Bush.

Catherine Tyldesley wants to do Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Tyldesley wants to take part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress is a big fan of the ballroom competition and, even though she doesn’t think she’d be particularly good, she would love to take on the “challenge”.
She said: “Every year when I Watch ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ I really want to do it.
“That’s one thing that’s definitely on my bucket list.
“What’s my signature move? I think it’s probably best I don’t move at all. I really don’t think I’d be very good, but I love the show and a challenge.”
The 33-year-old actress can’t believe it’s been almost six years since her character Eva Price arrived in Weatherfield and though she doesn’t know how much longer she’ll stay, she hopes to always have the option of returning.
She said: “I will have been on ‘Coronation Street’ six years next May and it’s gone unbelievably fast.
“Initially I was only meant to be there for three years but everyone is so lovely to work with it’s hard to let go.
“People who leave do go on to great things – just look at Michelle Keegan but they all miss it, as would I.
“Most of us are on year-to-year contracts, so there’s always that chance they might kill you off.
“But I hope the door is always open for me.”
Catherine and her husband Tom Pitford’s little boy Alfie, 19 months, loves going on set with her and he’s particularly enthralled by her co-star Shayne Ward, who plays her love interest Aidan Connor.
She told Woman magazine: “Alfie is completely obsessed with Shayne. The two of them are little buddies but when Alfie first met Shayne he was starstruck.
“I took him to set recently and Shayne sang for him. Alfie was mesmerised – although everyone is when Shayne sings.”

Alan Carr had laryngoscopy

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr had to have a camera stuffed down his throat on Tuesday (22.11.16).
The 40-year-old funny man – who is known for his high-pitched voice – was forced to have a laryngoscopy, a procedure that allows a surgeon to look at the back of your nose, throat and voice box, in the ear, nose and throat department at hospital.
Taking to his Twitter account today, he wrote: “Off to ear nose and throat clinic to have a camera put down my throat – yay!!! … The throat camera is long and thin apparently *imagines it’s a matchmaker and closes eyes* (sic).”
It’s not known why the ‘Chatty Man’ star was advised to have the procedure but he’s no doubt hoping to get the problem sorted before he ties the knot with Paul Drayton.
Paul proposed to Alan in Indonesia in September and the pair have already decided they want their close friend Adele to perform at the wedding.
Alan said recently: “The engagement only happened last week so I don’t know exactly what we’ll do. But a big old wedding and we’ll get Adele singing ‘Someone Like You’.”
However, although the proposal was the happiest day of his life, Alan has admitted the moment didn’t go according to plan.
Explaining that he thought he had pulled out a filling after he bit into the ring, which was hidden in his dessert, Alan said: “The man on the organ starts singing ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight?’ Then the chef, all the staff came out and the manager and sang ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight?’ but they didn’t know the next lyric, so they just sang, ‘Can you feel the love tonight? Can you feel the love tonight?’
“So it was my idea of hell, but of course I said yes.”

I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! to get all-star special

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ is set to get an all-star special.
Ant and Dec – who have hosted the show since 2002 – are keen to persuade bosses of the creepy-crawly programme to do a one-off series that will bring all the winners of the past 14 years back together for three explosive weeks in the Australian outback.
Speaking to BBC Three Counties Radio, Dec said: “We’ve had so many brilliant, brilliant people on there. Sometimes we talk about how it would be brilliant to do a Best Of and get some of the jungle Kings and Queens back. A champion of champions.”
However, they’re not just drawing the line at the previous winners, as they’d also like to see some comical camp mates rub shoulders with some new feisty contestants.
Ant explained: “And also some of the contestants that were great but didn’t win. We’ve had so many genius people over the years. We’re like you, we love the show. We love presenting the show. We get obsessed by the celebrities.”
And it seems the chances of an all-star special have heightened now that ITV have penned a new three-year deal with Craig Parker – who owns the Dungay Creek, Queensland, where the show is filmed – to continue shooting on his land.
A source said recently: “ITV must have thrown a lot of money at the Parkers because they have managed to smooth this over in record time.
“They are ready to continue their professional relationship together and the council will without question agree to the extension.”
And there’s no chance the loveable presenting duo will be replaced as they’ve also just signed a new three-year deal with ITV to keep working with the broadcaster.
Ant, 40, and Dec, 41, said in a statement: “We are absolutely delighted to be extending our relationship with ITV, to continue on the three shows we love as well as exploring further opportunities both in front of and behind the camera. This deal will take us past the 20-year mark with ITV and we couldn’t be happier.”

Anastacia has reclaimed femininity after Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Anastacia has reclaimed a “little piece” of her femininity doing ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 48-year-old singer agreed to take part in this year’s series of the ballroom and latin show because she wanted to donate her fee to Breast Cancer Awareness following her double mastectomy last year after two separate battles with cancer.
And, although she was given the boot in week six, she’s proud of her journey and finally feels like a woman again following the invasive surgery.
Speaking in Fault magazine, she said: “Every little thing that I’m doing, including ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ was me trying to reclaim a little piece of my femininity that cancer stole from me. When you have as many surgeries as I’ve had, you lose so many female sensations that you’ll never get back. Nipple sensation is something that cancer robbed from my anatomy and I’m used to it now but there is that little part of me that will always be lost. Doing ‘Strictly…’ and doing this shoot I feel like I’m finally becoming the woman that I was again.”
However, her journey on the show wasn’t as easy as she thought it would be as the ‘I’m Outta Love’ hitmaker ripped the scar tissue while training and thought she’d need another operation.
She explained: “I just thought it was a sore muscle and I just waited for it to pass but it got progressively worse and then I felt a lump which I knew couldn’t be cancer because I didn’t have any breast tissue left but it had to be something.
“I went to see a doctor and as it turns out it was an inflamed scar tissue. I found this out on Saturday morning and the show was filmed live on Saturday night. I decided to continue with the performance, and we took out the lift to help me do that. By the end of the performance I was in a lot of pain, and knew I needed to see a specialist.
“Then I was told there was a dance off. I knew I was physically unable to perform, and I was terrified about what damage I had already done.
“I began to cry and said “sorry I’ll get my things and go and thanks for the opportunity” and I was ready to leave …I didn’t know they had contingencies for occurrences like that.”
Anastacia was given an automatic pass into the next week which, in turn, meant that Melvin Odoom was axed from the competition, but she left four weeks later anyway.

Megan McKenna wants a baby soon

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan McKenna wants to have a baby within the next four years.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star has only just rekindled her romance with her boyfriend Pete ‘The Pirate’ Wicks after she caught him sending seductive messages to a series of girls behind her back but, despite the betrayal, she’s keen to settle down soon.
Speaking to Now magazine, the 26-year-old beauty said: “I’d really like to have kids before I’m 30 so I think I need to have kids by the time I am 28.
“I have a good four years before I need to think about it! Basically I want to be able to have my career and my business all around me first. I want to feel satisfied with what I am doing professional before I settle down and have children.”
And, although she was undecided for a while as to whether she could trust Pete again after his infidelity, the brunette beauty is happy with the way things are going for them.
She explained: “I’m going to take each day as it comes. We’re just like any normal couple – there’s going to be s**t times , but there’s also going to be amazing times.”
The couple began dating in February after Megan joined the hit ITVBe show but she has admitted, although she’s grateful for the opportunities that have come her way since joining the programme, her relationship works better when the cameras are off.
She said: “It’s not as much pressure when you’re off screen. When you are on screen, everyone’s judging you. I’m happy where I am now. Being together is a bonus.”
And Megan’s family – who shunned Pete when his cheating antics were revealed – have decided to welcome the 28-year-old hunk back into their home with open arms.
She said: “My family are happy when I’m happy so, yes, they’ve forgiven him. They never disliked him, they were just angry and disappointed with him.”

Martin Roberts' wife was called ahead of I'm A Celebrity meltdown

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Roberts’ wife was called by producers of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ before his meltdown was aired on the show on Sunday (19.11.16) night.
The ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ star broke down in tears just a day after he entered the jungle last week after he locked horns with fellow camp mate Danny Baker and, although bosses were determined to show the scenes on national television, a member of the crew phoned his wife Kirsty beforehand to warn her because the clips would have been distressing for her and their two young children Megan and Scott.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Tuesday (21.11.16), she said via video link with her kids sat beside her: “I have to say, Sunday was quite difficult. He’s had a really intense time and it was one thing after another. To be fair, I had a call from one of the producers from Australia. They did give me the heads up to say that he’s been upset as she knew the children would be watching but even so, it was quite emotional.”
Although Kirsty – who married Martin in 2010 – found the scenes difficult to watch, she’s used to her spouse welling up because he’s always been a “sensitive” soul.
She explained: “When you’re so far away, you just want to step into the TV and give him a hug. He’s quite sensitive, I would say that.”
Martin joined the camp with Danny a week after the original 10 set up home in the jungle, and his wife is convinced producers did that on purpose to create tension but she doesn’t think it’ll be long before his fellow competitors warm to his personality.
Kirsty said: “Clearly the producers wanted to create a rivalry between him and Danny. He showed last night [when he apologised to Danny] that he will be a team player.”

The 36-year-old actress, who has starred in ‘Fairly Legal’, ‘Person of Interest’ and ‘The Sopranos’, will join Al Pacino, Karl Urban and Brittany Snow for Johnny Martin’s crime thriller, in which she is set to play police Captain Lisa Watson.
The film’s script, written by Michael Caissie and Charles Huttinger, is centered on a homicide detective, played by Pacino, who joins forces with a criminal profiler (Urban) to catch a serial killer whose crimes are inspired by popular children’s game Hangman.
Michael Mandelsohn, of Patriot Pictures and Union Patriot Capital Management produces the film alongside Cheyennne Enterprises’ Arnold Rifkin.
Martin, who helmed ‘Vengeance: A Love Story’ starring Nicolas Cage and Don Johnson, is directing the movie.
Meanwhile, Etchie Stroh, who worked on films ‘The Promise’ and ‘Afterglow’ is executive producer and will represent the film for international sales at the American Film Market, with Union Patriot Capital funding the project.
In a previous interview discussing the cast, Martin said: “It’s every director’s dream to work with Al Pacino. Brittany Snow brings a fresh, instinctual presence to the production, while Karl Urban’s strength, instinct, and versatility heighten the action and this genre. This film is amazing and will appeal to a wide audience.”
Shooting for ‘Hangman’ was scheduled to start on November 17 in Atlanta.

Louise Redknapp hopes Kevin Clifton will help her fall pregnant

OHMYGOSSIP — Louise Redknapp hopes Kevin Clifton will help her fall pregnant.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional’s previous celebrity partners Frankie Bridge and Kellie Bright, who worked with the married hunk in 2014 and 2015 respectively, have fallen pregnant almost immediately after taking part in the competition and now the 42-year-old singer is convinced her dance partner will be her “lucky charm” when she and her husband Jamie Redknapp start trying for another baby next year.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Tuesday (22.11.16), she said: “Frankie Bridge is obviously a good friend of mine and when she finished dancing with Kevin, she fell pregnant. And Kellie Bright did ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with Kevin and went on to have a baby so now the joke is he will be my lucky charm because I said I’d really like a girl. I’m feeling the pressure, I’m going to have a baby. For me, fertility, has been well-documented. I didn’t have my first son easily, it took me a long time to have him. It took me four years. My second one, it took me four weeks so I think, for me, another baby I wouldn’t take it for granted but it’s not something I would rule out.”
Louise has decided to take part in the ballroom and latin show because her sons Charles, 12, and Beau, eight – whom she has with the retired professional footballer – no longer rely on her as much as they used to and she wanted to do something for her.
But, although the brunette beauty enjoys taking part in the show, Louise usually has a “meltdown” every week when she starts training for the weekend’s live show.
She said: “I always have meltdown Monday, stressful Tuesday, start to think I know what I’m doing on Wednesday and fall apart on Thursday.”

Megan McKenna to make West End debut

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan McKenna has landed a role in a West End dance show.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star has always longed to see her name in lights after auditioning for both ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘The X Factor’ over the years but, after two failed attempts, it seems she’s finally getting her chance to shine after she was chosen to star in ‘One More Dance’ at The Adelphi Theatre in London next month.
Taking to her Instagram account on Monday (21.11.16) night, the brunette beauty wrote: “So excited to be making my first ever West End debut singing in @glebsavchenkoofficial & @krihanoff show @onemoredancelondon on 11th December! To get tickets book here – onemoredance.london (sic).”
‘One More Dance’ has been put together by former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Kristina Rihanoff and ‘Dancing With the Stars’ hunk Gleb Savchenko as they introduce their fans to a wide spectrum of dance – from traditional ballroom to modern tap jazz and contemporary ballet – for a star-stopping show in the capital.
Kristina reached out to Megan, 24, after she fell in love with her voice when they were appearing alongside one another on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ earlier this year.
And it didn’t take Megan long to respond to the request as she jumped at the chance to show off her powerful vocals on a big stage alongside two incredible dancers.
She told OK! magazine: “I was absolutely thrilled to be asked by Gleb Savchenko and Kristina Rihanoff to sing in their West End stage show.
“I didn’t have to think twice. They are absolutely world class dancers and it was special to hear them tell me how much they love my voice.”
‘One More Dance’, which is being choreographed by Gleb’s wife Elena Samodanova, has been a long time in the making and, although she’s only just been asked to sing in the show, Kristina knew almost immediately that she wanted Megan.
Megan said: “Kristina first heard me sing when we were both housemates in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house earlier this year and we said then that we hoped to work together someday. I’ve known Gleb for quite a while too and we have talked about him appearing in a music video with me which I would love to see happen!”

Great British Bake Off to get Christmas special on BBC

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Great British Bake Off’ will have a Christmas special on the BBC before it moves across to Channel 4 next year.
The popular baking show is set to shift channels at the beginning of 2017 after it was swiped away by the broadcaster in a three-year deal worth an estimated £75 million, but bosses at the BBC, which has screened the programme since 2010, are planning to give it the send off it deserves by creating one last ‘The Great Christmas Bake Off’ next month.
The special episode will feature a selection of bakers from previous series but it’s not yet known whether Paul Hollywood – who has been a judge on the show since the beginning – will be invited back for the festive shenanigans alongside his co-judge Mary Berry and hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins after he turned his back on the BBC and agreed to move to Channel 4.
The BBC lost the rights to the cooking series in September at it failed to make Love Productions – the creators of the show – an acceptable offer.
Channel 4, which also took ‘Formula One’ from the BBC earlier this year, immediately jumped in with their mega-money deal after they heard negotiations had broken down, but failed to secure the judges and the popular hosts as well.
The channel spent days trying to persuade the 81-year-old culinary queen to move with the show, but she immediately shot down their offer out of “loyalty” to the BBC and she is now planning her own baking series with the network.
However, the 50-year-old silver fox was clearly dished out an offer he couldn’t refuse as he has agreed to front the programme next year on his own, while bosses at Channel 4 are hoping to bag a new presenting duo.
Meanwhile, the ‘Great Christmas Bake Off’ isn’t the only festive special the BBC have lined up this year, as bosses have also scheduled in Christmas episodes of ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Sherlock’, ‘Call the Midwife’ and ‘EastEnders’.
‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’ is also set to get two festival shows – ‘Mammy’s Forest’ and ‘Chez Mammy’ – while ‘Outnumbered, which hasn’t been seen on screens since 2014, will also make a highly-anticipated return.
Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content, said: “We’ve pulled out all the stops this Christmas to bring the nation together with a sparkling line-up of family favourites, brand new treats and festive specials on BBC Television.
“We are showcasing an unrivalled range of top quality comedy, drama, entertainment, factual and religious programmes across our channels that promise to deliver something for everyone.”

Peter Capaldi finds Doctor Who moments a 'bit silly'

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Capaldi thinks some of the scenes in ‘Doctor Who’ are “a bit silly.”
The 58-year-old actor – who has portrayed the Time Lord in the BBC One sci-fi drama since 2013 – has admitted he often raises his eyebrows when he skims through the script when he receives it because it’s so unrealistic and childish.
He explained: “We just blow up monsters…There are some moments when you feel ‘That’s a bit silly’ or ‘That’s a bit mawkish’ but then you realise, that’s for children. You would be a fool not to play to them because it’s their show.
“The thing about Doctor Who is the constitution of the audience. It covers a huge age range, so if you have to entertain little kids, hipsters, students and middle-aged men who should know better. Sometimes there is a kind of metaphysical and intellectual aspect to it, which is more to the fore than other times.”
‘Doctor Who’ was struck a blow last year when it moved from its traditional teatime slot to a post-8pm Saturday night slot, which affected viewing figures and saw a dip in merchandise sales, but, despite this, there is still a hardcore following.
Speaking about his level of fame, he told the Radio Times magazine: “I found it hard at first. You walk on stage and it makes people go crazy, not because you’re me, because you’re Doctor Who. When you see little kids that’s fantastic. A wee bit like being a mythical character, like the Wizard of Oz or Santa Claus.”
But Peter didn’t just struggle with the attention, as he also found it tough tapping in to his character’s mind-set as he believes he’s really “alien-like.”
He said: “He’s not really human at all, that’s what I believe. Who you see is what he has chosen to present, because that’s the only way that humans can understand him and what he is. His problem is he sort of knows everything. That makes life quite hard … A lot of the young people I meet who love it, they tend to feel slightly outside, not part of the gang. In a way, it’s a show for not-cool people, which now has suddenly become for cool people as well. People’s relationships with the show is very personal.”

Ricky Norwood bought June Brown designer shades

OHMYGOSSIP — Ricky Norwood bought June Brown a pair of designer sunglasses last year.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star used to work with the 89-year-old soap legend a lot on set of the show as their characters Arthur ‘Fat Boy’ Chubb’ and Dot Branning had a very unlikely friendship and used to live together, but their bond didn’t end when they finished work for the day as the 33-year-old hunk used to shower his co-star with gifts.
He explained: “Me and June had a great friendship. I loved looking after her and bringing her cake and tea just the way she liked it before we;d sit and go through lines. I’d talk through what the street slang meant, and she’d learn it and say things like, ‘Ricky, I like your garms [clothes].’ In the summer I even bought her a pair of super diva Tom Ford sunglasses. You should have seen June rocking them out on the Square!”
Ricky broke hearts across the nation last Christmas when his alter ego was tragically killed off by serial murderer Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack) when she locked him in the boot of a car – thinking it was her enemy Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood) in there instead – and had the motor crushed at the scrap yard.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Ricky said: “There are still petitions going on. I get told, ‘We want Fats back’ on a daily basis, whether it’s a message on Twitter or somebody I meet in the street. I’d never really had a Christmas storyline, and I liked that it was a secret that I knew would shock people. But I didn’t expect to get the response I did! To have that impact on the nation, with a character who was supposed to be on ‘EastEnders’ for three months, was amazing!”
