Michelle Keegan to star in radio series On Kosovo Field

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Keegan is to star in the radio drama series ‘On Kosovo Field’.
The 29-year-old actress – who also plays the role of Corporal Georgie Lane in BBC hit series ‘Our Girl’ – is to feature in the five-part series, which is inspired by musician PJ Harvey’s Kosovan notebooks and will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
The Fin Kennedy-written drama is to be told over a week in January 2017 and will centre on the story of two Kosovan siblings and their journey.
The partially-recognised state was involved in a war at the end of the 1990s, and Jeremy Howe, Radio 4 commissioning editor for drama, said ‘On Kosovo Field’ will serve as a reminder about the conflict.
He explained: “Seventeen years ago Kosovo, a place that few of us had ever heard of, was all over the headlines, then the news juggernaut moved on and the place was forgotten.
“‘On Kosovo Field’ shows how drama can get underneath the news headlines and explore with real emotional depth how the politics we hear about in the news, the war that is glimpsed in thirty second bulletins, affects real people.”
In the drama, Michelle plays the role of Kosovan-born Rebeka, who is brought to Manchester along with her sibling Dardan – played by Nico Mirallegroas – under a special evacuation programme.
The characters subsequently return to Kosovo as adults after a mass grave is uncovered close to their native village.
As the series progresses, the siblings unlock their family home in Kosovo and are forced to confront the painful reality of what happened to their parents.

Amir Khan gets his own reality TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Amir Khan is set to star in his own reality TV show.
The 30-year-old British boxer attracted unwanted attention earlier this week, when his glamorous wife Faryal Makhdoom accused her in-laws of trying to beat her up – but the Khans have now joined forces with Booom TV for a Kardashians-style reality show called ‘Home With The Khans’.
A now-deleted photograph on the channel’s Instagram page featured an image of the Khans, with a caption reading: “Coming soon on @BooomTVUK #HomeWithTheKhans. (sic)”
The TV show promises to give Amir’s fans an insight into into his relationship with Faryal, who married the sports star in New York City in May 2013.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Amir and Faryal have a big fanbase and love letting their followers into their life on social media, but a TV show is next level.
“After the events of this week Faryal has made it clear that no one messes with her or Amir.
“Their life is always full of drama. It’s going to be very interesting to see how that unfolds on screen.
“Faryal is immensely proud of her family and won’t hold back, that’s for sure.”
Faryal, 25 – who shares a two-year-old daughter called Lamaisah with Amir – alleged earlier this week on Snapchat that her “evil, hating sister-in-law” Mariyah “came to hit” her when her husband was not at home.
In a post on Facebook, she added: “There are many women who suffer in silence due to ill treatment from the in-laws. This dark side is usually kept hidden.
“We need woman at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored.
“I am every abused woman’s voice and I am grateful for my husband’s support throughout my ordeal.”

Nathan Lewis received marriage proposals over Twitter

OHMYGOSSIP — 5 After Midnight star Nathan Lewis has received marriage proposals over Twitter.
The aspiring pop star – who features in the group alongside Kieran Alleyne and Jordan Lee – has been lapping up the attention of his female admirers on social media and has now revealed the true extent of his popularity since appearing on ‘The X Factor’.
He shared: “We’ve received chocolates and I have had a marriage proposal once or twice on Twitter.
“I haven’t accepted yet because they didn’t get down on one knee and present me with a ring – I’m a classy girl!”
One female who has clearly taken a shine to Nathan is chart-topping pop star Alicia Keys, who recently met the 5 After Midnight hunk after she made a guest appearance on the show.
Nathan told the Metro newspaper: “I got to chat with her and took a selfie.
“A week later she tweeted me saying she was blessed to have met me and that she thought I was a star.”
Meanwhile, Nathan’s bandmate and father-to-be Kieran has insisted that his baby won’t get in the way of 5 After Midnight realising their dreams.
Kieran learned about the unplanned pregnancy with his girlfriend two months ago, but has promised it will not derail their success.
He said: “It gives us all a reason to push forward and win the competition. It makes me want it that much more.”
‘X Factor’ judge Louis Walsh suggested it could prove to be a blessing in disguise for Kieran.
He explained: “It’s a good thing because he has a responsibility now. He has to do well because he has to support this child.”

Saraa Aalto invites fiance and ex-boyfriend to X Factor final

OHMYGOSSIP — Saraa Aalto has invited her fiance and her ex-boyfriend to the ‘X Factor’ final this weekend.
The 29-year-old contestant is hoping to impress the public and mentor Sharon Osbourne in this weekend’s final at London’s Wembley Arena, and has recruited the support of her current fiance Meri Sopanen as well as her former lover Teemu Roivainen – who she previously dated for nine years.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, when asked if her ex-boyfriend will be joining her, she confirmed: “Yes, he’s coming.”
And asked when she will be exchanging vowels with her fiance, Saraa revealed: “I think we’re going to wait for maybe another two years, we will see.”
The Finnish star has been rehearsing ahead of the final show in which she will compete against 5 After Midnight and Matt Terry.
And while she remained tight-lipped about her rumoured duet with Adam Lambert, Saraa revealed her song choice for her forthcoming performance will be Tears for Fears’ hit ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’. But she promised:”My version will be a bit different.”
Meanwhile, the aspiring star believes she has a good chance of winning the show, because she has won over the British public.
Earlier in the competition, Saraa almost lost her place in the competition when she found herself in the bottom two sing-off, only to be saved by the public.
She said: “I think I just needed some time because I came from another country and people wasn’t sure if they liked me or not.
“Then when weeks went by people were like, ‘We like Saraa’s voice’ and ‘We like her personality’ and her performances and yeah, they’re voting for me.
“I feel so grateful that people are voting for me and this is my new home, I want to stay here, I want to make my career here.”

Liam Payne slams Louis Walsh

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne has slammed Louis Walsh for “setting the worst example” to 5 After Midnight.
The former One Direction singer hit out at the ‘X Factor’ judge after he told a reporter to “f**k off” when asked about the possibility of Liam’s girlfriend Cheryl returning to the show’s judging panel in the future.
Liam – who is expecting his first child with the ‘Call My Name’ singer – tweeted: “Congratulations Louis Walsh for setting the worst example on handling media for his band who are about to step into a very hard industry.
“Maybe it’s about time you realise it’s not all about you and shut the f**k up for once, let them speak (sic)”.
The 64-year-old music manager had dismissed “silly questions” about possible changes to the judging panel during a photocall for this weekend’s ‘X Factor’ final.
Asked what he’d do if Cheryl came back, Louis fumed: “Well Simon wouldn’t invite Cheryl back because we have Nicole [Scherzinger].
“We have Nicole and Sharon [Osbourne], we don’t need another girl. So go and f**k off now! No silly questions, seriously.
“It’s not about Cheryl. Don’t be stupid, man.”
Despite Liam’s criticism, 5 After Midnight didn’t seem to disturbed by the incident as they could be seen laughing by his side during his tirade.
The outspoken Irishman was also dismissive when asked about the remaining members of the Spice Girls – Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, and Mel B – pulling out of a duet with 5AM at the last minute.
He simply said: “It’s not about The Spice Girls, it’s about 5 After Midnight… so stop talking about them.”
Louis has previously slammed Liam and his One Direction bandmates for believing “the hype around them”.
He said of the group, which were put together on ‘The X Factor’ in 2010: “We create monsters in the music business – they only become famous because they’ve been on the show and we got you those songs.
“They’re lucky f**kers, but some get a sense of entitlement and believe the hype. Too many artists appear to forget where they came from.”

Len Goodman doesn't remember Strictly winners

OHMYGOSSIP — Len Goodman doesn’t remember the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ winners.
The 72-year-old head judge insists he is never particularly impressed by the star names that sign up for the show because he isn’t “celebrity savvy”, and when it comes to their work on the dancefloor, the past contestants that stay in his mind are always those who were popular despite their lack of ability.
He admitted: “I’m not very celebrity savvy – I know the odd sports person but not the others. I’m a keen golfer, so it was great to shake hands with Tony Jacklin when he was on the show – unfortunately he couldn’t dance and was out week one.
“I very clearly remember Ann Widdecombe but I can’t remember who won it that year. I very clearly remember John Sergeant but I couldn’t tell you who won it that year.
“And in five years’ time, I will very clearly remember Ed Balls but I probably won’t be able to tell you who wins – so what does that say about me and most of the people watching?
“The overriding thing about Strictly is, as much as we love the dancing, it’s about entertainment and the people watching tend to remember the entertainers way more than they do the dancers.”
The ballroom expert is set to bow out from the show at the end of the current series, but admitted he was reluctant to sign up in the first place as he worried it would be a “mickey take” and the celebrity contestants wouldn’t be able to reach the required standard.
Speaking to the show’s host Claudia Winkleman for the festive edition of Radio Times magazine, he said: “I had lots of qualms, lots!
“Firstly I was very worried it might be a mickey take of my little world of ballroom dancing, which of course was totally wrong. I also didn’t think the professionals would be able to teach a non-dancer celebrity in a few days to any high standard.
“And I didn’t expect ballroom dancing with celebrities would be a success. So it took me a few days to decide.”
But Len – who is also a judge on American spin-off ‘Dancing With the Stars’ – is delighted he signed up as the show “absolutely” changed his life.
He said: “Thank heavens I did say yes, because it absolutely changed my life. Never ever have I regretted doing it, I’ve been so privileged to be part of the show.”
Fans have been distraught over Len’s decision to leave the show, but he insists it will be fine without him.
He said: “I’ve had so many people say to me, ‘Len, it won’t be the same without you!’ But of course it will be.
“‘Strictly’ is far bigger than any one person. No-one is irreplaceable.”

Dawn French novel adapted for ITV series

OHMYGOSSIP — Dawn French’s book ‘A Tiny Bit Marvelous’ is to be adapted for a new ITV series.
Twins Emma and Beth Kilcoyne – who developed Dawn’s 2010 drama ‘Roger & Val Have Just Got In’ – are tasked with the job of reworking the 2011 tome about a debilitated family.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Dawn loved working with the twins so much on ‘Roger and Val she thought of them straight away when adapting her debut novel into a series.”
However, those expecting the 59-year-old ‘Vicar of Dibley’ actress to take on the lead role of mother Mo Battle may be disappointed as she has reportedly decided to not to take on the part because she feels she is too old.
But she could still appear in the show in some capacity.
The insider added: “Dawn believes she’s now too old at 59 to play the mother character.”
The series is to be commissioned by ITV chief Polly Hill within the next few weeks.
The story follows Mo and her teenage daughter Dora, who feels like a “big fat loser” and her younger sibling, who suffers an identity crisis and wants to be called Oscar after the famous poet Oscar Wilde instead of Peter.
Dawn – who divorced her husband Sir Lenny Henry in 2010 – previously said she wanted to put out a series about marriage because most TV shows don’t portray marital relationships as she knows them.
On putting out ‘Roger & Val’, she previously said: “I was part of a very successful marriage for a long time
“For much longer than I wasn’t, if you see what I mean. For most of my life, in fact. So definitely I had no worries about [portraying a marriage on screen]. In fact that was one of the reasons I wanted to do it. Because most of the television I see that represents marriage isn’t what I know to be marriage. Except for something like ‘Outnumbered’, which is more real.”

Robert Downey Jr. confirms role in Avengers: Infinity War

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Downey Jr. will reprise the role of Iron Man in Marvel’s forthcoming ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
The 51-year-old actor confirmed he will be making a return as the iconic superhero at a recent event, with the much-anticipated movie set to hit cinema screens in 2018.
He told Entertainment Tonight: “We have a start date! That’s, you know, when you start shooting.
“So I have yet to be released from my Marvel contract! You heard it here first!”
The Hollywood star has recently wrapped up filming for the forthcoming ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, which will be his eighth performance as the genius billionaire and will see him star opposite Tom Holland, who has followed in the footsteps of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Asked to name his favourite Spider-Man actor, Robert said: “I’m good friends with Toby, so I can’t play favourites here, but that Tom Holland guy is something else.”
Robert added that he was “really excited at the way it’s being re-imagined” and said the upcoming movie will have a “a 21st century take” on the Spider-Man story.
He added: “I was (always) in a good mood when I was shooting my little bit in (‘Homecoming’), so that must mean it’s an excellent motion picture.”
The film veteran will also star in the Guy Ritchie-directed ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’, as he reprises the role of the fictional detective alongside his right-hand man John Watson, played by Jude Law.
He previously said: “I can’t wait. We can do some preliminary stuff. If we could shoot it on Skype we could have done it in a week.
“I know Guy Ritchie loves me as much as I love him – and he damn well should. When we’re making those ‘Sherlock’ movies it is off the hook.”

Naomie Harris reduced her director to tears

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomie Harris made her director cry on set.
The 40-year-old actress, who is best known as Eve Moneypenny in the James Bond movies, reduced Barry Jenkins to tears during the making of their independent film ‘Moonlight’.
The director recalled: “Naomie doesn’t drink smoke; and doesn’t drink – and so she couldn’t light the cigarette.
“She genuinely had trouble with the damn cigarette, so I quietly told [co-star] Trevante to reach over and take the cigarette, light it, and give it back to her.”
The moment prompted an apologetic reaction from Naomie.
Barry told the Daily Mail newspaper: “She said: ‘I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.’
“On set, that moment made everyone weep. I was probably crying the most.”
Naomie plays an emotionally abusive mother in the critically-acclaimed drama movie, but previously admitted to having reservations about playing a crack addict in ‘Moonlight’.
Naomie explained: “I had real reservations about playing a crack addict because I’ve always fought against playing any kind of stereotypical roles.
“I’m very careful about the reputation of women, and as a black woman in particular I want to represent progressive roles for women and black people in general.
“Then I spoke to Barry and he said, ‘I don’t want you to play a stereotype. What I’m asking you to play is basically my mum.’ Because this is his story and the story of the writer Tarell [McCraney], and what happened to their mothers – it’s a very similar journey – deeply connected with me.”
She said, too, that she adopted an unusual approach to playing the role of Paula.
Naomie: “I would sit in the hotel room imagining I was being interviewed by someone. So I imagined the person was asking me, ‘What was your dad like? What was your mum like? Where did you grow up?’ and all these questions.
“Then I created a whole narrative around that and that helped me define the character’s voice.”

Matt Terry: Fans send me 'underwear pictures'

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Terry’s fans send him “underwear pictures”.
The 23-year-old ‘X Factor’ finalist has been wowing audiences across the country with his impressive vocals on the ITV singing competition, but the aspiring star has said whilst his fanbase is nothing to be sniffed at, he does receive some “weird stuff” sent to his social media inboxes.
He said: “I have lots of great female fans, and male.
“I do get some weird stuff but it’s all fun. I get loads of underwear pictures and stuff like that but I try not to look at them in case they’re underage.
“I just keep on scrolling.”
And it isn’t just content from his fans that he’s had to be weary about, as he also admitted to posting a video of himself online where he “didn’t realise” he was only wearing his underwear.
He admitted: “You know I’ve had to be really careful, I was doing a video and I’d just got changed and put a hoodie and just my boxers on.
“I did a video and I posted it and I was in boxers and it just went wild. I didn’t realise until everyone said it because I was in a hoodie and then I’d changed the angle.”
Earlier this week, the budding young star returned home to Bromley to perform a homecoming gig in an attempt to rally support for his performance on the ‘X Factor’ final this weekend, and said the backing he has received has been “amazing”.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Matt said: “It’s been amazing. I kind of like arrived and I got to Carluccios and it was like this big swarm of people.
“Having my bus too has been so cool too, especially having my family along with me.
“My family are here and it’s the first time I’ve experienced big, big crowds – I didn’t expect that at all. I keep saying I thought there would only be a few people with a takeaway fish and chips – like ‘How you doing man?'”
‘The X Factor’ final takes place on ITV at 8pm on Saturday (10.12.16), with the results show on Sunday (11.12.16)

Scarlett Moffatt's father fears he's been replaced by Larry Lamb

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt’s father felt he’d been made “redundant” when his daughter turned to Larry Lamb for comfort.
The 26-year-old star – who won this year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ – sought comfort from the former ‘EastEnders’ star during this season’s programme, much to the upset of her own parent Mark who feared he had been replaced by the actor.
Speaking about his reaction to Larry as the temporary paternal figure in the jungle, the ‘Gogglebox’ star said on the spin off show ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! – Coming Out’: “When she sat on his knee and give her a cuddle, I thought ‘He’s making me redundant here.'”
And the brunette beauty has revealed she was nervous her experience on the jungle-based reality show because the feeling of being an “outsider” brought back unsettling feelings from her school days.
Speaking previously, she said: “That was the big thing for me going in there, I felt like an outsider as all I do is watch the telly for a living.
“I was with people like Larry Lamb, Carol Vorderman. I was worried how these people were going to take me.”
However, Scarlett struck up a great rapport with all the competitors in this series, which she felt was “just amazing”.
She continued: “It was just so nice to be accepted for who I am. It was just amazing.”
Meanwhile, the Queen of the Jungle has revealed she has gained a new outlook on life since being crowned champion, and has set her sights on starting a family with boyfriend Luke Crodden – who she started dating in February – at some stage.
She said: “I cannot wait to see Luke. He’s just my best friend. I’ve never met anyone who makes me laugh as much, he’s genuine.
“I’ve never really looked into the future when I’ve been with past boyfriends, but with him I can imagine having a family.
“But not for a very long time! I’ve just turned 26, I’ve got a few years left but it’ll definitely be with Luke.”

Kate Winslet 'inspired' Xavier Dolan to become an actor

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Winslet “inspired” Xavier Dolan to become an actor.
The 27-year-old actor and director has admitted he has always been a fan of the 41-year-old actress, but the pivotal moment in his life came after he watched the golden haired beauty play the role of Rose DeWitt Bukateer in ‘Titanic’, which led him to follow the same career path.
Speaking to Vulture about who has been the biggest influence in is life, he said: “I’ve been a fan from the first hour. Kate Winslet has inspired me to become an actor, a director, a costume designer … she’s helped me to grow as an artist and as a human being in a way that she will never know. When I saw her in ‘Titanic’, I was eight years old. I saw the film and I was like, ‘Oooh, look at that.’ Big ideas, ambition, greater than life. It showed me that there were no limits to the things you could dream. I couldn’t believe the production design.”
And the ‘Elephant Song’ star has credited Winslet as the “spokesperson of my teenage-hood” years, which has helped him to “define” who he is.
The dark-haired hunk continued: “But from the age of eight to 16, Kate Winslet was the spokesperson of my teenage-hood without ever knowing it. She’s been the face of my wildest artistic dreams. The way she walked, the way she talked … she’s defined the person that I am in so many aspects. And I know that it’s extremely weird to be talking about this. Some artists do that to you. For me, it was her.”
And the French Canadian star has revealed he even reached out to the award-winning star – who was crowned the Best Actress for her performance in ‘The Reader’ at the 2008 BAFTA Awards – and wrote to tell her how much he admired her.
The ‘Mommy’ filmmaker explained: “It was an almost systematic pastime I had as a kid to reach out to stars and tell them how much I loved them. I wrote to Danny DeVito, Kate Winslet, Susan Sarandon, Leo [DiCaprio], the cast from ‘Buffy’, the cast from ‘Roswell’, the casts from ‘Charmed’ and ‘Smallville’.”

Larry Lamb splits with long-term partner Clare Burt

OHMYGOSSIP — Larry Lamb has split from his long-term partner.
The 69-year-old star has separated with his girlfriend Clare Burt, whom he was with for 20 years, but he’s wasted no time finding another lover as he was met by his “lovely new lady” Marie Victorine when he left the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ jungle.
Although the former ‘Gavin & Stacey’ star hasn’t announced the news himself, his arch-enemy Martin Roberts – who he locked horns with on numerous occasions while they were on the reality TV star – had no qualms discussing Larry’s love life on live TV.
While appearing on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (08.12.16), Martin said: “By the time it was our final morning (in Australia), having breakfast with Kirsty (Martin’s wife) and the kids and who should walk up but Larry and his lovely new lady Marie.”
Viewers saw the former ‘EastEnders’ star wrap his arms around Marie – who is French – when he walked to the end of the bridge once his stint ended in camp last week.
However, their lovely embrace didn’t raise eyebrows at the time as bosses of the creepy-crawly show had referred to Marie as Larry’s “friend” when she met him.
While being driven to meet the actor after his release, Marie told the cameras: “I am very proud of Larry. He has been busy looking after everybody, which I must say he does always. I will give him a big hug. He deserves it – more than one!”
News that Larry has got a new partner will no doubt come as a huge shock to most, as him and Clare stepped out together at a charity event in Hereford in October.
Larry, who is fluent in French, and the former ‘The Bill’ actress – who have been together since 1996 – have two daughters Eva-Mathilde, 13, and Eloise, 17, with one another.

Boy George takes swipe at The Voice UK

OHMYGOSSIP — Boy George has taken a swipe at ‘The Voice UK’.
The Culture Club frontman was dropped from the singing competition’s judging panel, which he sat on for one series, earlier this year after ITV pinched it in a mega-money deal from the BBC and, although he’s now managed to secure a deal with the Australian version of the show, it’s thought he still feels bitter about being axed from his home country’s edition as he seemed to poke fun at the UK’s viewers lack of “banter.”
Speaking in a statement after it was announced he was joining the Australian series, he said: “I am super excited to be doing ‘The Voice’ in Australia because I know they can take a bit of banter and I won’t be holding back. The UK season was a warm-up and I am ready to sprinkle some pop-tastic glitter dust all over the show.”
The 55-year-old musician will join Delta Goodrem, Seal and a third judge – who is yet to be chosen and announced – on ‘The Voice Australia’ next year and is thrilled he’s finally managed to free up his jam-packed diary so that he could accept the impressive deal.
He explained: “I’ve been talking about doing this show for a few years. They’ve approached me a number of times, but it just wasn’t the right time. But having now done it in the UK I feel ready to go now because I kind of understand now what the show is.”
And Boy George – whose real name is George O’Dowd – certainly has plenty of experience when it comes to dishing out singing advice to hopefuls as he previously sat as a guest mentor on the US’ popular singing show ‘American Idol’ in 2015.
