Lateysha Grace gets own reality TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Lateysha Grace has landed her own reality TV show.
The 24-year-old television personality hit the headlines last year when her dress ripped live on air and she flashed her bum crack to the nation but, although she was “mortified” at the time, the incident has managed to bag her a mega-money deal.
A source told The Sun Online: “MTV have now commissioned a full series of Lateysha’s own show and she’s set to make a fortune.
“She’s over the moon – but it’s ironic that it’s all come about from that dress split which she was so mortified about at the time. MTV knew they wanted to get her back on telly and had two options: whether to give her a show on her own or bring back ‘The Valleys’.
“But eventually they decided she was always the star of the show and they wanted to try out a new format with her as the focus.”
Lateysha first shot to fame in 2012 when she appeared on ‘The Valley’s, which saw her and a group of other young people move to Cardiff in Wales to pursue their dreams, but she fell out of the limelight when the show was axed in 2014 after just three series.
However, the brunette beauty managed to relaunch her career last year when she was chosen to enter the ‘Big Brother’ house and subsequently made a name for herself when she was grilled by Rylan Clark-Neal on the spin-off show ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ and flashed her derriere to the cameras while attempting to twerk.
A source said at the time: “She’s put on 21lbs in the house!! Gorging on the food and not doing any exercise. She’s already booked a load of personal training sessions – she’s so mortified and she hates the way she looks now she’s put on weight.”

Ross Kemp won't make anymore Extreme Worlds

OHMYGOSSIP — Ross Kemp’s ‘Extreme World’ has been axed.
The 52-year-old investigative journalist has been opening people’s eyes to homelessness, drug addiction, violence and poverty around the world with the help of his gritty series for the past six years, but all of that is set to come to an end later this year as Sky1 has decided not to recommission it for another installment.
A spokesperson for the channel told Digital Spy: “Our focus for Sky1 this year is offering customers even more great drama, comedy and factual entertainment. Going forward we are shifting away from commissioning factual shows on the channel, and ‘Ross Kemp’s Extreme World’ will be coming to an end after its upcoming series.”
However, viewers can still enjoy a forthcoming one-off special based on Libya later this month and a final series towards the end of the year before the curtains close for good.
Sky1 added: “Fans of the show can still look forward to the one-off Libya special later this month and forthcoming series of ‘Extreme World’, which airs later year.”
Although Ross was hoping to bag himself another series next year, he’s not completely disheartened as bosses have promised him something exciting in the future.
A spokesperson said: “Ross remains a much-loved member of the Sky1 family. He in talks with him about exciting new factual entertainment projects for the channel.”
And that’s not the only door that has opened up for the actor as he’s also hoping to reprise his role as bad boy Grant Mitchell in ‘EastEnders’ sometime this year.
When pressed on whether he would go back to Albert Square, he said: “You know what, in life, particularly if you work in television, who knows? Never rule out anything!”
Ross has appeared in the programme on and off since 1990 and saw his hard man alter ego go back to Albert Square temporarily last year when his on-screen mother Peggy (Dame Barbara Windsor) passed away following a lengthy cancer battle.

Colin Firth looks nothing like the real Mr Darcy

OHMYGOSSIP — Colin Firth looked nothing like the “real” Mr Darcy.
The 56-year-old actor – who was cast as the fictional character from Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ – was “too sexed up” in the BBC television adaptation and doesn’t share any similarities with the heartthrob, according to academic research, as they believe an honest portrayal should have depicted the character with grey hair, a long nose and a pointed chin instead of being tall, dark and handsome.
The study titled ‘The real Mr Darcy’, which has been conducted by John Sutherland, Lord Northcliffe Professor Emeritus of Modern English Literature at University College London and Amanda Vickery, Professor of Early Modern History at Queen Mary University of London, has led artist Nick Hardcastle to draw up the first accurate portrait of Mr Darcy based on the existing depictions, the socio-economic and cultural factors of the time, including his background, appearance and lifestyle.
Speaking about Mr Darcy’s aesthetic, Professor Amanda Vickery said: “Mr Darcy is an iconic literary character, renowned for his good looks, charm and mystery. As Austen wrote ‘Pride and Prejudice’ in the 1790s, our Mr Darcy portrayal reflects the male physique and common features at the time. Men sported powdered hair, had narrow jaws and muscular, defined legs were considered very attractive. A stark contrast to the chiselled, dark, brooding Colin Firth portrayal we associate the character with today.
“Drama’s The Real Mr Darcy – a dramatic re-appraisal study reveals that in recent times, Darcy’s character has been sexed up for the modern day audience with a turbo-charged injection of testosterone and steamy romance.”
And Professor Sutherland added: “There are only scraps of physical description of Fitzwilliam Darcy to be found in ‘Pride and Prejudice’; he is our most mysterious and desirable leading man of all time.”
This research was commissioned by the television network Drama to celebrate ‘Jane Austen Season’, which started on Sunday (12.02.17).
However, Colin had to undergo a drastic make-over in a bid to land the lead role in 1995, which saw him dye his hair darker after being told he was too “ginger” to play the part.
Speaking previously, writer Andrew Davies said: “With Colin I was a bit doubtful because of his colouring at the time because he didn’t have those dark curls back then.
“Sue was absolutely convinced that he would be wonderful but we said he had to go dark and he did go dark. He’s stayed dark ever since so he must have liked it.”

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson gave Holly Willoughby her ring

OHMYGOSSIP — Tara Palmer-Tomkinson once gave Holly Willoughby her designer diamond ring.
The 45-year-old socialite was found dead at her home in west London on Wednesday (08.02.17) afternoon and, although it was believed she’d become “reclusive” in recent months, the ‘This Morning’ presenter will never forget her late friend’s “generosity.”
Speaking on the brunchtime show on Thursday (09.02.17), the blonde beauty recalled the time they were speaking in a restaurant a few years ago during a night out.
She explained: “She had an incredible energy. I was lucky to know her because she was very close with a friend of mine.
“She had that special energy about her. She was so funny and incredibly kind. She was very generous with her time and with her spirit as well.
“The first time I met her, we were chatting and I noticed she had this diamond bling gorgeous ring on her hand and my eyes were following it like a magpie.
“I just said, ‘Your ring is beautiful’ and she said, ‘Oh this is just a bit of tut of Chanel’ and then she dropped it in my champagne and said, ‘It’s yours’. She told me to keep and said, ‘If you don’t keep it I will throw it across the restaurant.’
“So then I woke up the next morning with this amazing ring on my hand and I told her that I had it but she insisted she didn’t want it and I should keep it.”
The pair had a strong bond and Tara – who was the goddaughter of Prince Charles – even came to Holly’s rescue in 2011 when she had a fashion emergency.
She said: “I just had Belle [her daughter] two months before and I had an event to get to but I was feeling really dumpy because I was still breastfeeding. She was a size six and I was like a size 16 by the point but she took me back to her house and we spent hours trying out clothes. She fully kitted me out with heels, her handbag, dressed me up and sent me off on my way. She was a real girl’s girl. She was a lovely person.”
Tara was found dead at her luxurious penthouse in west London on Wednesday by a friend and, although her passing is “unexplained”, police aren’t treating it as suspicious.
The beautiful star revealed last November that she had been diagnosed with a non-malignant brain tumour and thought it would kill her.
After her diagnosis last year, Tara’s outlook on life shifted and friends say she became “reclusive” and had started discussing how she wanted her funeral.
A friend explained: “Her health had left her in a really bad way and she was very low. She thought about death a lot and even discussed her funeral at points.”
A post-mortem will be carried out on Tara’s body to determine her cause of death but, unless the examination comes back conclusive, toxicology tests will need to be undertaken to find out whether she had drugs in her bloodstream when she died.

Orange is the New Black's release date

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Orange is the New Black’ will return to screens on June 9.
Viewers were left on the edge of their seats last year when series four wrapped up with inmate Daya Diaz (Dascha Polanco) holding a gun to a group of terrified guards after her friend Poussey Washington (Samira Wiley) was brutally suffocated during a riot.
And the fifth installment looks set to be even more explosive judging by the teaser that Netflix – which has aired the show since its start in 2013 – released on Wednesday (08.02.17) evening as it’s yet to be known whether the new mum will pull the trigger.
The trailer shows Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), Nicky Nichols (Natasha Lyonne), Marisol ‘Flaca’ Gonzales (Jackie Cruz), Tasha ‘Taystee’ Jefferson (Danielle Brooks), Lorna Morello (Yael Stone), Cindy Hayes (Adrienne C. Moore), Maria Ruiz (Jessica Pimentel), Galina ‘Red’ Reznikov (Kate Mulgrew) and Gloria Mendoza (Selenis Leyva) staring down at the floor with shock expressions on their faces before the camera shoots back up to Daya with the gun in her hand.
Although she was missing from the teaser, Laverne Cox has confirmed she will return to Litchfield prison for series five as transgender inmate Sophia Burset.
Ruby Rose – who played Stella Carlin – was only meant to feature in the last series but she proved such a hit with viewers that the door has been left open for her return.
The forthcoming installment will consist of 13 episodes and, unlike previous seasons, will be dropped over the course of three days.
Bosses have remained tight-lipped on what’s to come for series five but Danielle Brooks (Taystee) has teased that it will be “war” following Poussey’s brutal murder.
She said recently: “Taystee has nothing to lose, she’s lost everything that she cared so deeply about. It’s time to fight. It will be very detailed, very intense, and you better get ready [for the fifth season]. Get your popcorn, your tissues.”

Director Barry Jenkins: Moonlight reflects my childhood

OHMYGOSSIP — Director Barry Jenkins admits ‘Moonlight’ deals with many real elements of his own childhood.
The 37-year-old filmmaker adapted the recently released drama – which has received an incredible eight Oscar nominations – from a play by Tarrell McCraney called ‘In Moonlight, Black Boys Look Blue’ and revealed the narrative caught his eye because it shared similarities with his own “poor” and troubled upbringing.
Speaking about what inspired him to make the movie – which stars Naomie Harris as drug addicted mother Paula – he said: “The film’s setting is crucial. It takes place during the war-on-drugs era because that was a key part of my childhood – I was poor and black and my mom was an addict.
“Naomie Harris plays Chiron’s mom – she’s the only actor to appear in all three acts and her performance is incredible. She does an amazing job as someone whose life and circumstances change rapidly.”
Jenkins grew up Florida and set many of the scenes between lead character Chiron – played by Ashton Sanders – and his father Juan (Mahershala Ali) near the sea because of the connection to his own life.
He told ShortList magazine: “Water and the ocean are hugely symbolic in this film. I grew up about a mile from the Ocean and even just thinking about it now, I can hear it, and smell it. It’s a powerful, ephemeral sort of presence and so it is in the movie too.”
And he thinks the movie will tear down stereotypes and barriers in cinema because it will show black people naked.
He added: “It shifts people’s perceptions of what a black body can mean … We so rarely see black men with their bodies bared, and we rarely see black people in water.”
Naomie, 40, has been shortlisted for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her performance in ‘Moonlight’, while Jenkins is up for Best Director.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge set for role in Han Solo film

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Fleabag’ star Phoebe Waller-Bridge is reportedly set for a role in the ‘Star Wars’ Han Solo anthology movie.
According to Variety, the 31-year-old British actress is in talks to play a “CGI-driven” character that will be a key part of the ensemble cast similar to ever-popular droid C-3P0.
A source told the publication: “It is CGI-driven … but still a significant part of the ensemble, similarly to key ‘Star Wars’ characters in the past like Chewbacca, C-3P0 and most recently, Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO in ‘Rogue One’.
The movie is to focus on the early days of space smuggler Han with Alden Ehrenreich taking on the role which was originally played by Harrison Ford in four films in the main franchise.
Other confirmed cast members include Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson playing a mentor to Han and ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Emilia Clarke in an as-yet unknown role.
‘The Lego Movie’ directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are taking control of the project which has already started shooting.
As well as appearing in comedy series ‘Fleabag’, Phoebe has also appeared in several TV shows including ‘Broadchurch’, ‘Crashing’ and ‘Bad Education’ and had minor roles in the films ‘The Iron Lady’ and ‘Albert Nobbs’.
The Han Solo movie follows on from Disney and Lucasfilm’s first anthology film ‘Rogue One’, which told the story of how the Rebel Alliance stole the plans for the Empire’s super-weapon the Death Star and was set between the events of ‘Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’ and ‘Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope’.
The Han Solo spin-off is believed to be set several years before Han met Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in ‘A New Hope’, eventually aiding them to fight Darth Vader and the Empire.
It is scheduled for release on May 25, 2018.

Ant and Dec are 'sad' to hear of Tara Palmer-Tomkinson's death

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant and Dec are “so very sad” to hear of the death of “one of a kind” Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ hosts worked with the late 45-year-old socialite – who is the goddaughter of Prince Charles – when she became one of the first celebrities to enter the Australian outback for the creepy crawly show in 2002 and have admitted they’re devastated by her recent passing and praised her for her “huge generous heart.”
Taking to Twitter after the news broke on Wednesday (08.02.17) afternoon, the comedy duo wrote: “So very sad to hear of the passing of TP-T. She was a true one off with a huge, generous heart. Our thoughts are with her family #RIPTPT (sic).”
And it wasn’t just the Geordie presenters Tara had a lasting effect on as ‘Fame Academy’ judge Carrie Grant struck up a close friendship with the brunette beauty after she took part in the celebrity version of the talent show for Comic Relief in 2007.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Thursday (09.02.17), Carrie, 51, said: “She was one of most genuine, kind souls, and one people we find out now all the different people giving to didn’t know about. Tara was diagnosed with autism in 2014 and viewing her through that lens, things make more sense. She had wonderful naivety but huge anxiety.”

Jeremy McConnell will fight for custody of baby

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy McConnell will fight Stephanie Davis for joint custody if her newborn baby turns out to be his.
The 26-year-old hunk is still waiting to find out whether three-week-old Caben-Albi belongs to him but he is adamant he won’t just fade into the background if the paternity test comes back in his favour as he wants to be a “hands on” father to the little one and do all he can to see him regularly.
Speaking to The Sun Online, he said: “If I am the father of Stephanie’s baby then I 100 per cent want joint custody. I am serious about being a good dad if the child is mine.
“If I need to go through the courts to get access to my son then so be it – I will take the necessary action to make sure I am a part of my son’s life.”
The heavily-inked heartthrob – who currently resides in Dublin, Ireland – is also willing to fly to Liverpool, where Stephanie is based, “every weekend” if Caben-Albi is proven to be his child because he wants to make sure that he has a strong relationship with the little one.
Jeremy’s decision to push for a DNA test may come as a kick in a teeth for the 23-year-old actress as he spent the majority of her pregnancy denying that she was even expecting a baby.
But he has since claimed that Stephanie’s father planted the seed in his head because he rung him last year and begged him to split up with her and warned him that she may blackmail him.
He explained: “I never denied the baby was mine. I know it says that on a tweet but what happened there was her dad rang me. I don’t want to get too personal but her dad rang me – they were all for the break up. Her management and family said to end things with Steph.
“[Her dad] said to me personally, ‘Don’t fall for her emotional blackmail.’ When she got pregnant and I thought it was a connection to that – I wasn’t denying it. I was sceptical over the whole thing.
“Obviously it turned out, and I apologise, for certain things that I said and done but it was a stressful time. I said some things that maybe I shouldn’t have. It was tough for me.”
Jeremy and Stephanie began dating after they met in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house in January last year but their relationship came to an end in April following a series of blazing rows on holiday.

Danny Dyer to quit EastEnders for Doctor Who?

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer wants to take over from Peter Capaldi in ‘Doctor Who’.
The 39-year-old actor is famed for playing pub landlord Mick Carter in the BBC soap ‘EastEnders’ but he is prepared to walk away from Albert Square’s famous boozer in order to portray the Time Lord when Capaldi exits the sci-fi show later this year.
Referring to the Doctor’s familiar neck warmer, the cockney star said: “I’d be interested in it. I could see myself in the scarf and all that.
“I think I could do it easy. I’d keep my accent too.”
Danny’s fans are desperate to see him take hold of the sonic screwdriver when his contract with ‘EastEnders’ expires in October and have even started an online petition.
They wrote: “My understanding is that Danny Dyer has a contract in ‘EasEnders’ until October this year. My Dyer should then move into the position of the new Doctor.”
The Doctor is expected to regenerate in the Christmas special in December and show bosses are on the hunt for a new actor to take over the Tardis.
‘James Bond’ Star Ben Whishaw, The ‘IT Crowd’s Richard Ayoade, ‘Little Britain’ star Matt Lucas, and ‘The Night Manager’s Olivia Colman are all said to be in the running.
However, although his name hasn’t been thrown into the hat by producers, it would be the right timing for Danny to take on the new venture as he’s not yet signed a new contract with the soap and has admitted he’s ready to move on.
He said: “Four years is a long time. It’s been really rewarding but there’s other stuff out there. I’d love to show other sides to me, I loved theatre and all that.”
But bosses aren’t prepared to let him go without a fight as they indicated last year that they were planning to hand him a lucrative deal to continue on the show.
A source said at the time: “Danny is so popular it’s a no-brainer. He’s very much in the plan for the show going forwards and he’s said himself how much he enjoys it.
“It’s been a great casting so far and everyone wants it to continue – especially the fans. The formal negotiations will be starting soon with the hope to confirm it early next year.”

Ryan Thomas for I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!?

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Thomas is being lined up for this year’s series of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who was known for portraying Jason Grimshaw until he bowed out of the soap last year – is at the top of the bosses’ wish list for the next installment of the creepy-crawly show after his younger brother Adam proved a hit with viewers last year.
A source close to the 32-year-old actor told The Sun Online: “There was speculation before Adam went into the jungle [last year] that maybe Ryan would do it – but circumstances went against that and Adam went in and did brilliantly.
“Ryan would be superb in the jungle and there has never been a family member following a family member into the outback ever in all the series.
“Fans would no doubt get behind him like they did Adam, and it’d be interesting to see if he reacts to the bushtucker trials in the same funny way.”
However, producers may have to slap down a large sum of money to coax the hunk to the Australian outback as he’s currently across the pond trying to carve out a career in Hollywood.
Ryan said when he announced his decision to leave ‘Corrie’ to pursue other things Stateside: “I feel like sometimes you go round in circles with storylines and being in a soap is like being in a bubble. It’s time to pop it, test myself and take myself out of my comfort zone.”
And Ryan – who has seven-year-old daughter Scarlett with his ex-girlfriend Tina O’Brien – will certainly have pressure on his shoulders if he does take on the jungle gig as his brother Adam managed to worm his way to the final last year and ultimately came third place.

Christopher Biggins: I won't watch Blind Date

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Biggins has vowed never to watch the rebooted ‘Blind Date’.
The 68-year-old actor was a close friend of the late Cilla Black, who hosted the iconic show from 1985 until 2003, and Christopher is vehemently opposed to the programme’s return later this year.
Christopher, who co-presented ‘Surprise Surprise’ with Cilla back in 1984, told The Sun newspaper: “Let’s bring back old-established things which were great because Cilla Black made them great.’ It’s very depressing.
“I don’t think they should do it. I won’t be watching it.”
The likes of Vicky Pattison, Olly Murs, Georgia May Foote and Helen Flanagan are all reported to be in the frame to present the dating programme, which will be given a reboot before the end of 2017.
Christopher’s comments come shortly after an insider revealed the revamped show would feature a “modern” twist.
A source explained earlier this week: “”Blind Date’ is the original dating show and it’s huge news to bring it back.
“It’s a classic format that will be rebooted to make it young, sexy and modern. Expect sparks to fly. In an age of Tinder, you have got to earn the right to love on this show.”
TV bosses at Channel 5 are eager to keep some of the “traditional” elements of the previous run, but are also determined to appeal to a “new generation of viewers”.
The programme is expected to run on Friday nights – rather than its traditional Saturday night slot – and will initially consist of six to eight episodes per series.
‘Blind Date’ had seemingly disappeared from TV screens forever in 2003, when Cilla – who passed away two years ago – announced she was quitting during a live episode.

Justin Timberlake had no Woody Allen ambition

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake never dreamed he’d star in a Woody Allen film.
The 36-year-old singer-and-actor finished shooting the legendary director’s latest mystery project alongside Kate Winslet, Juno Temple and Jim Belushi in November and while a number of stars have working with the filmmaker on their career wish-lists, it was never a target the ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ hitmaker set for himself because he didn’t think it was possible.
He said: “I can’t really say that doing a Woody Allen movie was ever on my bucket list, because I never even thought that doing a Woody Allen movie might be a possibility.”
Some actors have been criticised for opting to work with the 81-year-old director, who was previously accused of abuse by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow, and his controversial marriage to Soon-Yi Previn, the adopted child of his former partner Mia Farrow.
However, Justin opts not to “get into” the ethical questions raised by working with Woody.
He simply told The Hollywood Reporter: “I chose to not get into it — I really don’t dive into any of that stuff with anybody.”
Justin currently has no new movie projects in the pipeline but has been working on new music, and hopes to continue juggling both careers for as long as he can.
He said: “I want to do both things.
“I really do idolise the golden era of Hollywood, when actors were required to sing and move.
“But I’m just following my gut in the decisions that I make about what I’m going to do next. I’m mostly just glad this is all working out because I really can’t do anything else. I’m not gifted at anything else.”

Ocean's Eight made $1m donation to the Metropolitan Museum of Art

OHMYGOSSIP — The makers of ‘Ocean’s Eight’ have made a $1 million donation to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in order recreate the Met Gala.
The much-anticipated movie has been filming at the world famous museum in New York City and as part of the deal to help recreate the annual fundraising gala, the film’s makers have agreed to make an eye-watering donation to the institution, according to the New York Post newspaper.
The Gary Ross-directed movie centres on a jewellery heist at a fake Met Gala event with Kim Kardashian West as the intended target.
‘Ocean’s Eight’ is poised to feature a star-studded cast, including A-list actresses such as Anne Hathaway and Sandra Bullock, as well as the likes of Kim, Rihanna, Hailey Baldwin and Zayn Malik.
In fact, Zayn was reportedly eyed for a role in ‘Ocean’s Eight’ after his Met Gala appearance in 2016.
The 24-year-old singer was approached for the movie as producers feared Kim would drop out after she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris last October.
Movie bosses turned their attention instead to the former One Direction star and reworked the film’s script in order to accommodate him.
A source previously said: “Originally it was Kim Kardashian with the lead celebrity role. But after Paris producers didn’t expect her to turn up, so the script was rewritten to accommodate other celebrities including Zayn.”
Looking forward to the movie’s release in 2018, the source added: “It’s an old fashioned caper. Plenty of laughs, with some great celebrity cameos.”
‘Ocean’s Eight’ will see Matt Damon reprise his role as Linus Caldwell from the ‘Oceans’ franchise and the Oscar-winning star will appear alongside the likes of Damian Lewis, James Corden and Richard Armitage.
